hi have you considered any other fcs for the girls ? the lineup is exquisite don't get me wrong i'm just curious

oooooo of course i have!  and maybe u just wanted a normal response from me,  but i am going to make this reply a bit more visual and fun  (for me)  because i am going to explain what i was looking out for in my girls and why i decided not to choose ___ and ___ and yada yada because i'm feeling crazy!  also because i’m taking inspiration from @/pureun because they did something like this before and i thought it was really fun  <3  but trust me,  it will be really hard to get sana,  jisoo,  and yuqi out of my hands.  they are set on stone at this point!

first off,  we are starting with my darling kaia.  for her i wanted someone to bring the fun to the group and,  for lack of better words,  friendly-looking.  approachable,  lighthearted,  someone who exudes comfort to even those she’s not close to,  someone very fun to look at when on stage,  and someone who is known to be a wonder to be around with.  a mom friend,  basically.  but i also wanted someone no one would ever suspect of doing anything wrong,  which is why it was such a shock to fans when rumors circulated that kaia mistreated a stylist and that she is known by her inner circle to have anger issues  🙈  

i immediately thought of sana minatozaki when i came up with her because hellooooooooooooo!  and she was perfect because i actually wanted a japanese fc as i wanted kaia to be a member of akb48.  i also really liked the idea of kaia pulling a xg’s cocona and going viral for flawlessly rapping in three languages 😮‍💨 and idk just the thought of the face of baby girlism sana having anger issues and rapping in the levels of soyeon will always be funnie to me

i consider and think about nana komatsu as kaia every now and then,  though.  there was a time that i actually wanted her to be the oldest out of the three and in a way i could see nana fitting her background,  especially as an idol who likes to stay low-key with her own endeavors,  but i just don’t see her as kaia.  maybe as idol!kaia,  but not kaia,  yknow?    i also think that the vibes of nana!kaia would have been a little bit too similar to yvan’s,  and the thing about hiraeth is that the three of them are different from each other

mina myoi also crossed my mind because madre!  but it’s the opposite of nana’s situation.  i see her as kaia,  sure,  but not as idol!kaia  D:

for poppy, i wanted someone who gave off princess-y,  royalty like vibes with a dash of cunt,  especially as she’s the group's representation of elegance and maturity.  miss little pretty face,  a reserved woman with a big mouth and an open mind,  devoted to her craft as an idol and as a producer,   someone people and other idols look up to,  usually kept under a microscope by knetizens because there’s no way anyone could be that nice  (and she’s not even that nice,  she just minds her business!),  if her face is involved,  the brand’s stocks are sure to rise,  and she’s not that intimidating,  but there’s something about her that makes people hesitate to approach—not just because of her beauty or her monotone-like attitude,  but because she’s poppy.  i also wanted someone who seemed really put together on the outside,  but in reality they are not as poppy is chronically ill and kinda insane ngl  😔

i think out of the three, poppy’s main fc is the one i don’t think i’d ever change. i’m really attached to jisoo as miss pawppy—  like,  there’s so much history in here friendsies!!  poppy is jisoo,  just with some alterations that i’d love to talk about eventually,  but i’d be lying if i said i haven’t thought of other people as poppy.  not because i don’t see her in jisoo anymore,  but because i’m so attached to poppy as a character that i see her everywhere,  either as a concept or as someone else.

eunbi never never neeeever fails to remind me of her…  she’s genuinely the perfect alternate fc,  especially since she’s the same age as jisoo so if i did the change, i wouldn’t need to adjust anything!  but i have a really strong bias,  and i know that if i ever changed her fc to eunbi,  i’d end up switching back  😭 

and here’s where i admit that each girl is inspired by current or former idols,  and poppy is lowkey inspired by hirai momo who has always reminded me of her—  in terms of her personality,  stage presence and her looks.  like that one picture she posted during the miumiu fashion show…  where she was sitting and looking back at the camera with her bare back,  like yall,  that's poppy!  😵‍😵‍😵‍  but again,  i have a bias.  plus i also want kaia to be the only japanese woman in the group

now heejin would have been the perfect candidate to be poppy’s fc if only poppy wasn't a hag,  so yeah.  that’s never gonna happen unless i make an alt universe where they are younger…  :p

for yvan,  i wanted someone with the it factor—  someone who graduated from servington university with a degree in serving!!!  😝  i wanted someone approachable and relatable,  THEY/THEM realness fr, a best friend or at least a friend to many,  admired for their genuine love for their job and their talents,  fun and quirky with a dash of chaoticness that usually keeps everyone on their toes,  so big-mouthed it often lands them in trouble but usually works out in their favor,  and despite doing absolutely nothing  (they absolutely did or said something btw),  their name is always on everyone’s mouths.  i also wanted someone who could “snatch” the golden maknae title from j*ngkook,  which is the reason why armys fucking hates them and keep making up stuff about someone who’s not only globally liked but also j*ngkook’s number one wingman!  🙄

yvan actually went through a lot of fc changes until i started to pay attention to g-idle during the queencard era.  when i say everything clicked when i watched this yuqi fancam…  yeah.  since then i’ve never considered changing their fc.  yuqi is literally everything i envisioned for yvan  <3

xiaoting was one of their initial fcs and the one who stuck around the longest  (i even have old edits with her face and everything),  but i couldn’t quite see yvan in her as much as i wanted to  ):  

now ningning…   siiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiighs.  it’s similar to poppy’s situation with heejin—  though she’s the perfect candidate to be yvan’s face claim,  she was too young to be in a group with ’95 liners,  and i wasn’t going to age-bend anyone for that.  maybe in another universe…

i initially created the idea of yvan with yves in mind  (catch the “y” at the beginning of their stage names?  not really a coincidence lmao),  but due to some plot changes to fit the narrative of my friend’s and my ideas,  i decided to switch their ethnicity.

atla live action thoughts: episode 1

SPOILERS AHEAD

things i liked:

love that we're starting from a hundred years ago and seeing exactly how everything played out. iirc in the original, sozin's first move was to colonize earth kingdom territory so the show expanding upon it in sozin making it seem as though he was about to attack the earth kingdom as a red herring so he could wipe out the air nomads instead was a good change

sozin being able to wipe out the nomads because they were all gathered in one place for a festival makes a ton of sense, and i really like that they let us have time with the air nomads before wiping them out. gyatso and aang's scene almost brought me to tears, it was so beautifully sincere and touching

whoever casted gordon cormier needs a medal because THIS. FUCKING. KID. i nearly lost it when he started crying like what do you mean this baby has to save the world???

i am so thankful that they didn't shy away from the savagery and brutality of the air nomad genocide. seeing the fire nation cut them down so ruthlessly was absolutely horrific, but it was the perfect way to start this darker iteration of the story and those ten minutes alone made me feel more for the air nomads than the entire three seasons of the original. and having the scene cut between aang lost in the storm and his people being wiped out???? insane.

the visuals are absolutely beautiful. i think they shot this on a volume stage and holy shit did they make use of it because every establishing shot was gorgeous, especially the one for the southern air temple

ian ousley, questionable heritage aside, is actually doing a great job as sokka. his comedic timing is excellent

the bending actually looks... really good. i love how they're doing the airbending in particular, it definitely feels as though aang is entirely untethered to the earth

katara's arc is... interesting. i'll reserve judgement on it till the end of the season but right now i don't hate what they're doing with the changes to her relationship with waterbending. we'll see where they're going with this.

initially i wasn't a fan of them changing katara pulling aang out of the avatar state, but after reflecting i love that it was the memory of gyatso that brings aang back to himself. the idea that even though gyatso is gone, his love for aang still lives on within him, protecting him, is remarkably powerful and moving. and i think at this point, this version of katara and aang don't have enough of a relationship for her pulling him out of the avatar state to have the same impact it did in the original

THE MUSIC IS TOP-NOTCH. ngl i teared up when the credits were the iconic sun warrior soundtrack mixed with the atla theme

things i disliked/am conflicted about:

aang running away... doesn't feel like it's aang running away. i know he had the scene where he's crying and upset, but it feels more as though he just wanted to clear his head for a little bit rather than fleeing in terror because he was afraid of the responsibility of being the avatar. his guilt over abandoning his people and the world is fairly important to his character, so i didn't love the way they did this scene because it doesn't really feel like an active choice that aang made

gran-gran being turned into into an exposition machine to tell the audience - and aang - everything. really wasn't a fan of her being the one to reveal that aang is the avatar, or that they info-dumped everything about the fire nation and the war in one scene. it also sort of took away the gut punch of aang finding gyatso's skeleton because he already knows what's happened, whereas in the show it hits so much harder because of his blind optimism and naivete leading up to that moment

RIP katara breaking aang from the iceberg because of her righteous fury scene, you will always be famous. live action katara feels a little too passive so far but i hope that'll change in upcoming episodes as we get further into her arc

dallas liu as zuko... mmm, something about it is not working for me so far but i can't put my finger on why. i wouldn't say i disliked it, but i'm not loving it either. his performance feels a little too theatrical, somehow? but it's only the first episode so again i won't be too harsh till i finish the season

the southern water tribe should look far emptier and more isolated to get a real sense of how the war has affected them, imo. here the impact of their parents and most of the adults in the village being gone doesn't seem as apparent as it does in the original when it's literally just a few women and children

unironically going to ramble a little bit abt the promo i made for my spn muses under the cut lmao. i don't imagine discussion of the "occult," demons, and stuff bothers many ppl here, but y'know reader beware just in case. ( i always tag anything relating to luci.fer, demons, or general chr.istian mythology with "religion tw" for what it's worth ).

i spent so long trying to find quotes i wanted. i didn't want to just, like, copy-paste the wikipedia page for demons or luci.fer because that's so Boring, so i spent a long time looking through pdfs, archives, books, etc

i was initially looking at modern-ish stuff ( early 1900's-2000's, for the sake of being Time Period Conscious ) but i was having to play that game of "don't accidentally quote a book written by The Worst Person Alive" that i think all pagans/witches are already familiar with LMAO so i went full historical

( no like literally i found a book on demono.logy, was like "well let me check out the author just in case first" and for fuck's sake oh my gods )

next issue: find anything that wasn't still incredibly chr.istian while talking abt summoning demons / luci.fer??????? this was a little surprising, maybe i'm just not as familiar with demono.logy as i thought LMAO. but it doesn't fit the sp.n vibe

when i finally settled on the encyclopedia, i found the entry for "devil" ( which was used both for The Devil and "devils," or demons ) and that's where i got both quotes. the possession quote just immediately made me go "ooooooh that's good" but ngl i went a little insane at the whole demons "lay[ing] snares for hunter." like, yeah, it meant Normal Real Life Hunters, but it was just too good not to use

it was v intentional to make jess and sam's image witchier, which was a combo homage to a. my jess's hunter AU, b. sam canonically learning spells / some witchcraft in later seasons, and c. lbr i was thinking abt witchy hunter power couple jess and sam ( @florietiae ) fhdskfjdsalk

the pentagram amulet is a ref to jess's amulet but, while it's something she might wear in the hunter AU, her amulet is def not so obviously... witchy. just because, like. i mean lbr, ppl can be weird abt ppl wearing pentacles sometimes. her actual grandmother's amulet is a lot more subtle, but i was trying to fit the witchy and occult vibes

yes that is a tarot card. yes i went with The Tower instead of The Devil because oh if you know, you know LMAO.

i wasn't trying to "couple up" my muses, i mostly put jess & sam together for aforementioned witchy stuff, and then just, like, ended up with dean and cas together. i think it's incredibly funny.

I’m sorry, but you elriels are being genuinely ridiculous about the gwynriel art.

People are allowed to artistically depict events that happen in the books, even the traumatic ones. To say that they’re exploiting SA for profit is an insanely absurd take. Do you say that of SJM, who has written multiple SA scenes, and has a net worth of 40 million dollars? What happens when the ACOTAR TV show depicts Gwyn’s SA on the big screen, to millions of people around the world, and rakes in huge profits as a result? Or, what if instead, SJM decided to publish ACOSF as a graphic novel, a comic book, or a webtoon? Real storytelling mediums that exist, and display the exact same traumatic events as a normal book would - but in visual form. If anything, some would argue that describing SA in text is more triggering, as using detailed words to describe an assault creates an uncensored and undiluted imagery in your mind - whereas a visual depiction is usually much more censored and toned down. So what exactly is your issue…?

Like it or not, Azriel did rescue Gwyn that day. It forms a pivotal part of Gwyn’s story. Yes, elriels are correct in saying that the scene isn’t romantically coded - but what’s your point? What does that matter? You claim that gwynriels are ‘romanticising’ this scene, when literally no one is doing that. People can recognise that an event is deeply traumatic and disturbing, but still feel fondness, admiration and respect towards Azriel for saving Gwyn that day. Appreciation for Azriel’s heroic actions doesn’t suddenly mean that people think that scene was sexy or cute or hot.

It’s literally no different to all the art of Rhys rescuing Feyre on her wedding day to Tamlin. And, I also don’t see any elriels complaining about all the suggestive art of Feyre and Rhys UTM; where he drugged her, touched and kissed her without consent, twisted her already broken arm, and forced her to dance provocatively in a near-naked state. I also don’t see complaints about the countless art pieces of Rowan punching Aelin.

You guys don’t actually care about any of this, you just want a reason to shit on gwynriels. with writing sarah is giving gwyn a background and life story that was explained in the book. people go into these books expecting it to be "adult" books with triggers. ngl sarah's books should have a trigger warning page for her books but mostly traditional published books don't have trigger page for it and that's another issue in book marketing. but with that gwyn fanart or the way gwyn's trauma explained by the g stans it is not "showing" gwyn's trauma. it is made to be about Azriel and Gwynriel. how "passionate" it was (yes this is the word that handprint fanart artist used) and how their story started when she was raped. the scene wasn't about gwynriel or azriel as I keep saying it. if people wanna artistically depict events they can do this without making Gwyn's trauma about gwynriel or gushing over how Azriel and making him naked in the fanarts when in the actual book gwyn was raped, her sister was killed, probably other bodies laying in the background.... it was Gwyn's trauma. think about that.

are they making it out to be something passionate and I don't see fanarts of that scene everyday making rhys naked and holding feyre right after she was raped? this is like comparing apples and pears. did you know that there are SA survivors who are also bad? do you know that there are people who are sexually assaulted can assault someone later in life? not that I'm saying gwyn will do these bc we know she won't but my point is you can't go around saying if a person is SA survivor they can't do nothing wrong...they can. it is normal life. people can be triggered by little things and it can cause them to do something bad.

Gwyn can be a gray character like all of Sarah's characters and can do something bad and for the luring part...luring can happen without it being sexually. Rhys was sexually assaulted for years but he can alter people's mind and make them do whatever he wants. Gwyn is a SA survivor and she can still be gray character.

and for not being "healed" from her SA. we never said that. we said that as far as canon goes Gwyn doesn't show that she is ready for a sexual relationship with the way she returned to library where she went in the first place bc of her trauma at the end of the book.

also who is joking about azriel saving her? we are just stating a fact that g stans cannot get it right. he saved her that day but he didn't hold her in his arms or touch her in anyway. he passed her to mor who gwyn was probably more comfortable in the moment with a female and I keep repeating Gwyn was so traumatized that she couldn't be in the same room with a male for two years and it took nesta getting cassian to the library to make her decide to sign up for the training even after that when azriel joined them cassian noted how he should have talked with gwyn first and later in the book they talk to her about another males joining them for training with the blood rite qualifiers.

I can't really decide if Usopp would hate Sanji's smoking habit or simply not care.

I mean it would be funny that he hides and throws away his boyfriend's cigarettes to the point where Sanji has to hide his cigarettes from Usopp so he doesn't hide them from him and the way Usopp just visually coughs any time he smells the slightest bit of smoke from him (or anywhere honestly, he's a bit of a drama queen) to make him at least a bit embarrassed (failed miserably) or when all of Sanji's hidden goods are suddenly gone in the middle of the sea (which may or may not be his boyfriend's doing) and they weren't going to arrive to any island for a few days so he had to hold onto the two little stumps he had left and just going into a straight up withdrawal and asking everyone if they smoked and falling into deeper desperation each time he heard a "no" and how Usopp would mock him and tell him "That's what you get, loser" and yes this is kind of cruel but he has no business smoking 24/7 killing his lungs like that he basically smells of smoke and I'm sure even tastes like smoke and I do not want to even think of the effect it has on his teeth.

Fun fact, my brother and I used to do that (throwing away my mom's cigarettes) so she stopped smoking. Well, my brother did that so she would stop smoking. I did that only to fuck with her, ngl.

And okay, this whole concept is extremely hilarious because I just got another ask talking about Usopp smoking and Sanji finding out casually and it's just,,, So funny. But I like both concepts a lot!! This one feels so funny to talk about and extremely canon, too. (OP's future note: I made this sad. I am sorry)

Like Usopp would hate Sanji smoking this much, right? He doesn't hate that he smokes (they're pirates and can do whatever they want, so of course he won't be telling him to stop smoking) but he hates that he does it constantly. All the time. He's fucking up his lungs and also the whole ship smells like cigarettes and his clothes too and Usopp is sick of trying to kiss him and tasting that in his mouth. And it's not THAT disgusting because Usopp is used to it and, after all, it's what reminds him of Sanji. It's a Sanji thing. But he's worried about his well-being and he wishes Sanji would at least only smoke like 2 cigarettes a day and not a whole fucking pack.

So he asks Chopper for advice because he's the doctor here and will probably know what to do when it comes to an addiction like this one. Chopper tells him that the only way to end an addiction is to go through a process of either gradually quitting or just directly stopping, but the latter might have more side effects due to the need to smoke all the time. After all, it is a drug.

But of course, Usopp is a drama queen and he goes all in with this elaborate plan to throw away all the cigarettes Sanji has and is all dramatic when he smokes close to him. Which is- Okay, I am actually not on Usopp's side here so I'm gonna make it a bit angsty. I am evil. *Evil laughter*.

Usopp keeps doing that every time he finds Sanji's cigarettes and whenever they go to an island and he tries to buy them. Sanji has been smoking less and less and less because he doesn't have any cigarettes left and it's driving him insane. Like- It's genuinely affecting him badly and Usopp is too caught up in his own morals and trying to be the good boyfriend he thinks he's being to realize that.

Sanji can't sleep well anymore. He's eating more because he has cravings he didn't have before. He's more anxious and way more irritable, which only makes him fight Zoro constantly (more than usual. Imagine the chaos). He can't even concentrate when cooking. And tbh his intrusive thoughts are coming back because what helped him concentrate and avoid them was smoking and doing something with his hands (why do you think he smokes so much??? That's his unhealthy coping mechanism, your honor).

And Usopp tries to act like everything is normal and like he's doing a good thing because he has no idea what Sanji is going through. He thinks it's just a lil punishment that won't last long. But it does last. And it is affecting Sanji a lot. And of course, the cook ends up snapping because there's no fucking way he can handle this anymore. And it's out of nowhere (from Usopp's perspective) because Sanji is just trying to cook and Usopp is on the kitchen table doing his own thing with his bombs. And he's making noises, but just the usual ones. The ones Sanji has never complained about. But it's bothering the cook anyway, for once, and it drives him wild to the point of turning around and yelling:

"Could you stop doing that?!"

"Wha- Doing what?"

"The little clingclingcling the fucking explosions your humming just- Shut up! I'm trying to cook for this whole crew and you're making it pretty fucking impossible!"

"You never had a problem with me being here before."

"I never had a problem with you at all before, so I guess there's a first time for everything!"

"... Are you alright, Sanji?"

"Oh! Why wouldn't I be, Usopp? I'm perfectly fine. Awesome, even. Since I quit smoking everything has been perfect!"

"Really?"

"Of course not, you moron! I've never been more fucked up in my whole life, why would you do this to me? Did- Did I hurt you somehow? Is this a punishment? Karma? What do you want from me? I'll do it, just- Stop this."

"Sanji, honey, I'm just doing this for your own good because-"

"For MY own good? Are you sure about that, Usopp? MY own good? Who do you think you are to decide that for me?"

"I don't know, your boyfriend, maybe?!"

"Usopp. I- I love you, okay? But you're making it really, really hard for me not to say some things I- Smoking is what keeps me going, Usopp, I can't quit it-"

"Of course you can! You stopped smoking a week ago-"

"And it has been the worst week of my entire life, Usopp. You can't just decide this for me I- This is what makes me feel I have control over my life! It's not the best but it's what I have and we're supposed to be pirates, don't we? Let me-"

actually an excellent movie! did the series justice, was visually nice if not consistent with the original art, and did an honestly kind of compelling job with its characters. I really enjoyed it! would recommend but only if you’ve watched the rest of the saw movies for context lol

Thoughts on the new miraculous movie as someone who has never consumed any miraculous media before

Firstly, those songs were awful and really detracted from the plot. Like they were distracting and annoying and most were bad and the better ones were just alright, and they all kind of got in the way of the plot which is really annoying. But oh well.

Secondly, it has occurred to me that I have no idea what age range the target audience for this franchise is. It appears to be aimed a lot younger than I initially thought, which excuses some of the jokes and the incredibly on the nose messaging.

The jokes ranged from awful to painful but in a humorous way (some of those cat noir puns hurt but got a laugh out of me). Overall what you’d expect from kids media though so it’s not too bad. Very much disliked the fart jokes regardless though.

And to be honest. I can see why adrien has such a massive fan base I really started to like him over the course of the movie. He’s fun and sad and I like him. Marienette however. She was kind of annoying but idk if that’s because of the songs and the fact I didn’t really like her voice or because of her character. I’d have to watch the show to determine that one.

The plot itself was incredibly on the nose and the pacing was a little weird. I don’t have much issue with the plot though, since it is targeted to a young audience, but it also suffered a bit from the way kids movies nowadays tend to talk down to their audience and think they’re too stupid to understand something if it’s not said outright. That was a bit annoying, but otherwise it was solid I think. The pacing definitely could’ve used a bit of work, and I don’t know how I felt about the ending and Gabriel hawkmoth guy being defeated so easily.

The visuals however. Spectacular. Beautiful. Amazing. Every shot was so incredibly beautiful it was insane. Definitely carried the movie, it looked so good…

Ofc I must say a special shoutout to cat noirs bell because it made me laugh many times.

Now I must say something about other miraculous media: how the fuck does this fit in. I went in thinking it was a prequel but like. Is it not?? Is it like entirely separate and just speedran the entire fucking show or something?? I’m incredibly confused by that aspect I’m ngl. I have very many questions about that but I don’t know if I wanna put myself through the entire show lol. I was so stressed out by the love square in just this hour and a half long movie I can’t imagine sitting through like six seasons or however many there are. Y’all who did are the real ones you guys impress me that must take some incredible stamina.

Overall, I liked it. It was a fun movie and the visuals were so so stunning and I really liked adrien and thought his and marienettes relationship was actually pretty cute. Hated the fact that is was a musical like it’d be different if the songs were actually good but. They aren’t. I may be being a bit over critical for a kids movie but I know kids movies can be better it’s happened time and again so I have no qualms about it. But yeah the visuals carried, the songs and the pacing dragged it down immensely (unfortunately those two things go hand in hand). But yeah. A pretty alright movie and made me a bit more intrigued about the show. Idk if I’ll ever watch it but I’m certainly intrigued, that’s for sure.

I finally played the most recent part of yttd and I’m kind of obsessed with it like idk there’s really nothing like it. like ok yes there’s point and click puzzle adventure visual novel games with similar themes (death games etc) but the characters just hit kinda different here. I’ve played through both logic route w Alice and shin and emotion w kanna and reko

personally my fav dynamic is between Sara and shin bc there is literally zero hints of romance or romantic tension, it’s just pure hatred and fear from both ends. and there’s levels to this hatred too, like this is advanced hate. and yet they’re still cordial with each other lmao

in logic route they’re both fully justified in their hatred for each other but they’re also incredibly similar. like shins original goal was to survive even at the cost of others and now dark Sara is like hmm me too I must survive even if everyone else has to die. So if joe was never in the game, then even tho shin says he’s weak and Sara’s strong, if he and Sara switched win percentages they would’ve acted very similarly to each other. like ugh I love narrative foils brings me back to high school when I learned what that was bc hamlet and horatio were foils !!!!

I think I basically just like every single character. kanna especially. Her development goes insanely hard. her and nao have my fav designs. the bucket is so silly and I love naos big hair. also reko obviously. I used to be a Qtaro hater but he redeemed himself like no other character has before.

I also just rly like how family and sibling relationships are so important in the game that’s like rly different. I feel like in fiction sibling relationships aren’t rly as explored as parent child or romantic so it’s kinda unique in that sense.

also what’s funny abt this game is I trust keiji way too damn much he’s actually so fuckin sus but I wanna trust him no matter what bc he’s hot and he backs me up lmao that’s the only reason. if it was any other character acting like this there’s no way I’d be choosing all the nice options (except the kid chars and girl chars bc I am sexist). quite literally flirting vs harassment. but he kinda makes me mad when I think abt it like he is fully taking advantage of and trying to manipulate the 17 yo girl like he is actually terrible. It’s like he wants her to trust him but he doesn’t trust her. ngl if it came down to it I’d prob pick sou over keiji like if I had to choose who lives in logic route if that became an option. just bc keiji is like low key a shit head. But he’s also so supportive and kind to Sara so idk!!!

Theory I found that I 100% believe is true: mr policeman’s son is joe and keijis wish was to meet his son so that he could return the charm which is how he ended up in the death game. idk though keijis reaction to meeting joe was rly nothing special…well actually did we even see that? I feel like we didn’t

Ah, Bang Chan, gosh railway is so good, I had a different idea for a story before the actual MV came out, but I absolutely loved what Chan did for it. The visuals, the blood, him just being him, it was too good not to do something for it.

I really wanted to make Chan monstrous and a creep, the eyes already give off those vibes. Such a patient creature too, locked up for a long time but slowly building his plan for escape. It was Chan's intentions to keep MC by his side, but things got complicated. I would like to do a second part down the line someday but that's gonna have to go on the shelf while I work on other stories.

Vampire Chan is gonna be on my mind a lot, every day I see a new Railway fic and I am here for it. I'm glad you enjoyed my little take on the story too >_<

hello folks!! i have been rating nuwho seasons and it has been a while so!!! it is time for series 5!! also deleted series 11 thoughts because 1. i want these to be in order 2. i want to rewatch the series as well before rating it 3. i disagreed with my own thoughts

just my personal extremely unprofessional opinions mostly based on Vibes, so feel free to disagree!! but now! series 5!

1. Vincent and the Doctor (5x10) - SO good, i love that they showed vincent that his works will be appreciated, that moment was so great. loved the general story, too, and how the "evil" creature wasn't actually evil and how everyone was so kind it was very beautiful to me. also, i always smile when i remember "the ultimate ginge" it was so funny to me

2. The Beast Below (5x2) - really really really like this episode like. already just for the visual look, i love it so much. the story is good imo, and i love that they managed to save the star whale, all hail amy pond!!! the ending was adorable i think. will never get over how visually gorgeous this episode is imo

3. Amy's Choice (5x7) - SUCH a fascinating episode, toby jones is fantastic as the dream lord and at least i kept doubting like no it's this no that AND IT WAS BOTH!?!? yeah love this episode, also rory is with us!!! he's so great guys one of my favourite companions for sure

4. The Pandorica Opens/The Big Bang (5x12/5x1) - a great finale, i lovedddd how little amy came back and she helped save the world and the timey-wimeyness is SO GOOD y'all i love steven moffat because he does timey wimey stuff and i LOVE timey wimey stuff like all paradoxes and like going back in time to do something in the future etc etc is SO SO INTERESTING and you can do it in doctor who i need timey wimey stuff to happen even more in doctor who tbh

5. The Eleventh Hour (5x1) - great introduction to both amy and 11, the story is good + OLIVIA COLMAN RAHHH honestly i need her to come back to doctor who in a bigger role like even as the doctor or the master she's fantastic, but yeah i like this one too

6. The Time of Angels/Flesh and Stone (5x4/5x5) - i like the story and the scene where the angel is appearing through the video clip and when amy had to walk with her eyes closed like the forest scenes were honestly so good, ANDDDD THE FACT THAT THE DOCTOR DOESN'T HAVE HIS COAT AND WHEN HE COMES BACK HE HAS IT ON YOU CAN SEE IT AND IT'S NOT A MISTAKE IT TIES TO THE SERIES FINALE I'M SO INSANE ABOUT THAT, always LOVE seeing river song, the angels moving on screen kinda sucks, however i'm fine with that because of the theories that they move between frames or the crack affects their abilities, and also the scene between 11 and amy at the end of the 2nd part was NOT good like i've heard steven moffat regrets writing it tho can't confirm that, and yeah he should like it doesn't add anything to the story, it's creepy, deeply uncomfortable and makes no sense

7. The Hungry Earth/Cold Blood (5x8/5x9) - it's not bad, i like the exploration of how humans can be very cruel, absolutely LOVE rory i was so sad when he died and karen gillan's acting when amy is trying to remember rory AAAAA, also loved many of the side characters, but that one silurian and the mum made me SO. ANGRY. like y'all won't even believe how much i hate those two god i was so mad

8. The Lodger (5x11) - i like the story even tho it's probably not the best there is, it's pretty funny and i do like craig ngl, i know people don't like him because of james corden, however i'm not aware of ANYTHING i have no idea what he's done because i like barely know the name so he doesn't ruin it for me

9. The Vampires of Venice (5x6) - i like rory and amy in this but tbh i'm not a fan of the story, i liked the side characters tho and was sad when the girl didn't survive she was really nice :(

10. Victory of the Daleks (5x3) - the story is okay i think but tbh i wasn't too invested, also what's it with churchill being such a hero so often like he was NOT that great of a guy and definitely not someone i'd really see the doctor being friends with, the scene where they're sort of turning the robot guy into human is great, i really like it

ok actual review for people who gaf.

i am a die hard deadpool fan and watched the first two when they came out in theatres. Ive been waiting on this one for a loooooong time and ngl it disappointed me. I dont think it was the worst thing in the world but it definately had marvel disney aids infect it. Somehow it feels less raunchy and vulgar compared to the last two? I feel like the film steadily declines in quality as it goes on, with the last third feeling like its just dragging on. I dont think there were enough fourth wall breaks or meta quips despite the fact that many were included. It felt like it was still lacking... like a blizzard without enough brownie pieces. I think deadpool doesnt have enough quips or little jokes sprinkled in throughout fight scenes and there actually felt like a distinct lack of comedic homoeroticism somehow. Like deadpool and wolverine definately had insane tension and that car fight was them having merry sexmas until the literal crack of dawn and deadpool even did that whole gay orgy joke in the beginning, but like this is nothing compared to the gay shit hed do to colossus with in the first two movies. I know I sound biased because I love deadpool x colossus, but seriously this couldve been fixed quite easily by just adding more yaoi lolz to the existing scenes with deadpool and wolvarine. If i were to give suggestions like.. how about in that scene where they are clawing/shooting eachothers sides why doesnt deadpool instead tickle his sides for a moment and then for a bit it turns into some fairy gay tickle fight for the lolz. or how about more on screen dick fondling from deadpool during any of the many, many scenes they have where they're laid down together/pressed against eachother. just anything like that really you know like remember deadpool is all about the jokes. I felt like sometimes he wasnt distinct enough in calling shit out. Like the joke where we see dramatic openings for the random motherfuckers in the boarderlands as a way of making fun of how marvel movies always have the "audience stand and clap" intro shots too. Its obviously a joke, but I wish deadpool mocked it a little more and talked more about it out loud, since his entire thing is not letting anything go and having to be annoying about everything. There were a lot of moments like that, especially when wolvarine forced deadpool to spare cassanova. I was expecting a lot of banter for that moment and honestly deadpool killing her because thats the deadpool way. I thought at the very least if they didnt kill her (because marvel rules) he would at least go "if she becomes a problem later im saying I TOLD YOU SO!" and then a call back to that when she inevitably ruins everything from being spared. but there was nothing and it made the movie feel less deadpool because of that. He just simply doesnt make enough quips. Also there were some jokes that actually made me cringe in a way of thinking "this will age so poorly". I like deadpool because its cringey and vulgar in a way that it makes you regress back into a 12 year old again where swearing and violence is the coolest shit ever (bc it is). But i really didnt like how deadpool used some lingo that obviously will age badly like saying "let him cook!" I know deadpool is all about using popular slang and referencing popular media, but the first two movies still feel timeless because they never cut out exact phrases like that which will be so distinctly dated in a few years. The pop culture references are timeless ones in the first two movies and anything that will become dated is subtley put in like the adventure time watch he wears n stuff. I actually like that theres references like these only in the visual details, because I think that him wearing a watch like that and having small details in the bg with his items makes the pop culture references feel much more deadpool and funny, since it isnt him just saying shit to sound relatable, its just him owning this stuff because he genuinely likes watching the show.

Theres an entirely different feel to this movie and it is definately from the heightened budget and change in management from the shit going on with studios or whatever. The first two movies felt closed off in a way. The world honestly felt kind of empty but I liked it because it was acknowledged in universe and utalized to make the limitations of a lower budget just apart of the joke. This movie feels like an open, normal world and it is definately because now they have the resources to make it have more than like 3 guys talking. I like both feelings honestly, and this is a neutral change to me since it is just a fundamentally different sensation for the movie experience. The problems i have with the different vibes though is that the first two movies felt distinct from other marvel movies. The plot is small. its simple. the movies feel succinct and the limited cast is worked to its advantage so you really feel a dynamic between everyone. And most importantly, the stakes are hinged upon primarily interpersonal relationships rather than saving the world. I think that deadpool is so fun because wade wilson has never been about doing the right thing for justice, hes about just doing the *right* thing. I like that the first two movies had stakes that boiled down to being like saving his gf or a stupid kid (since cable was gunna kill him anyways lol like the world would not end if deadpool didnt save him). It fits his character and gave him the wiggle room to do marvel movie sins like actually killing the bad guy without giving a fuck and just doing fuck all sometimes. It really does feel like Deadpool 3 is suffering from catching a case of marvel aids and honestly that is the biggest thing that let me down. Its the root cause of all the other problems I see like the lack of incorporating previous movie characters and shit, having too much shit going on, unsatisfying execution of core themes, etc etc. I dont want to keep writing about this, but yeah deadpool 3 like didnt kill my grandma but it is SIGNIFICANTLY worse than the first two movies. I'd definately rec the first two as i adore them and theyre classics but the third is really mehhhh if you wanna watch it go ahead *shrugs*

aiku really subscribes to that “99% of gamblers quit before they win big” mentality LFJDJS LMAO WAIT HE CANONICALLY BETS ON HORSE RACES RIGHT??? i’m going to make him an npc in the pegasi au solely so he can gamble HAHAHAHA omg tinker bell aiku this is a new level to the oaeu it’s lowkey funny because he has the green and everything too 😭 but i do think it’s a common trope especially in non canon duos where the “traumatized” character is magically fixed by the power of love and the other character just being super perfect?? and especially with a pair like nagi and aiku it would’ve been super super easy to fall into that where aiku is so perfect and mature and wise that he manages to make nagi into a well adjusted human who has normal motivations and plays soccer and whatnot but i wanted to show that while nagi may have been better off with aiku than in canon he still would have issues no matter what because aiku is also just another guy not an actual substitute for parental love and guidance ykwim (since imo that’s the root of all of nagi’s issues)

sometimes the fan service and marketing get to the best of us 😓 i do think it’s easier in prose form vs manga/anime to show that depth though?? like in polar we got to hear nagi’s every thought and although a lot of their dynamic WAS revealed through their physical interactions and whatnot having those thoughts was definitely helpful in developing the complexity of their relationship!! although with visual storytelling there’s a lot of subtleties with body language that can be utilized as substitutes for internal narration so it’s definitely POSSIBLE just tricky and sometimes hard to do when the animation isn’t top notch

KDFHDHS NOT THE MIRA GLAZING PLS 😭 i appreciate it though!! pacing is def smth tricky to balance and everyone also has different preferences for what they prefer but i think as long as you’re confident in your work and write well pacing does come pretty naturally?? at least for me i just try to think of the main scenes i NEED to happen in the story (so like with polar i NEEDED aiku to meet nagi, nagi to go to aiku’s school and play soccer with him, aiku and nagi’s friendship to be shown, aiku and nagi to join the u20s, nagi to clash with sae and shidou, and nagi to finally take initiative at the end and be the one to win the game against bllk) and then let the connections between those main beats to flow naturally as i write based on the established characterizations from canon and what i need for the plot to make sense (for example the scene with the teacher, the entire tryout scene, the scene where aiku throws out nagi’s jellies, the beef with sendou, the sae/nagi dynamic, and the advice + connection with shidou, and pretty much everything else were all improv that came to me as i worked) which i think makes the pacing feel more natural maybe

NAGI’S LITERALLY THE BABY OF THE U20S there’s another scene i was going to add where aiku makes nagi hang out with hayate so he can make more friends and they just go to hayate’s house and hayate gardens while nagi plays games and they don’t talk at all because they’re both introverts and then as nagi leaves he’s like “i guess if they’re like hayate then friends aren’t THAT bad” i ended up not including it because again it was already so much longer than necessary 😭 but that just has such sibling vibes to me especially and shows how it wasn’t JUST aiku who adopted nagi ykwim?? like the others cared abt him too (minus sendou kinda but even he respected nagi after he stood up to him)
