König and Domestic Silk Moth Hybrid!Reader

Due to popular demand (about 4 people)

Context: in this one, I’m having König stay human and having hybrids in a pet role. As an insect hybrid, I’m making her small AF (like 2-3 ft tall). I did consider making her Barbie sized tho 👀. So this is gonna have size kink bordering on micro/macro just so you know!

König is stuck on medical leave, and pretty damned miserable. He sustained a break that’s put him out of commission for a while. He’s never spent so long in his empty home, and it’s driving him insane. He’s spent basically his entire adult life married to his work, so he’s woefully unprepared to keep himself entertained.

And despite being something of a loner most times, he misses the noise. He misses the bodies and conversation. He and Horangi have a phone call every so often, and text as frequently as the work allows, but that only takes up so much time in the day.

And it’s Horangi that suggests a hybrid.

That’s something that he could throw himself into to keep occupied, as well as giving company. And unlike a pet, a hybrid would be able to be mostly self sufficient whenever he returned to work.

(Horangi doesn’t want to say if he returns. But König is not a young man, and has sustained a serious injury. There’s a chance that even if he heals, he won’t be the same as before. Combined with his rank, it won’t be huge surprise if he’s pressured or forced into retirement if his utility is limited.)

König is apprehensive— so he doesn’t want something quite as needy as a cat or dog hybrid, where he’d have to deal with heats and noise. And Horangi happens to have an old friend, retired, who raises domestic silk moth hybrids with his newfound free time. You’re picked to be offered up, freshly cut from your thick silk cocoon.

And for König, it’s love at first sight.

You’re very pretty. Fluffy white fur, big, dark, eyes. And so small. You barely come up to his hip, and raise your arms, asking to be lifted. It’s only then that he learns domesticated silk moths are flightless, their wings are pretty but unable to fly. It makes him feel a little bit of kinship with you. Restricted movement, denied purpose.

And basically his life revolves around you from that point. König doesn’t have many involved or expensive hobbies, so he has a lot of time and resources to devote to your care. You’re something of a niche pet, so it’s a little difficult to find things made for you. He resorts to commissions. Don’t fucking look at his Etsy purchase history.

You live your life perched on his shoulders or in his arms (you’re much too small to keep up with him). He’s a little afraid of letting you in his bed at night, he doesn’t want to roll over and crush you by accident, but you keep crawling under his covers anyways. You can’t help having cocooning behavior.

He’s constantly sitting you on ledges. On the sink while he shaves, on the counter when he cooks, on his desk when he works. You’ve always gotta be within arms reach for petting purposes.

And the petting, the kissing… he’s so addicted to the contact. He’s been alone for so long, and you’re so soft.

And that just leads to him getting more and more curious about your body. You don’t mind— you love him! And he loves his little Seidenmotte.

He’s beyond delicate with you. You’re so small— he has to work you up quite a bit before he can even fit a finger into your cute little pussy.

I love Lily so much, since dying my hair ginger one of my favourite comments I get on tiktok is people saying I look like how they picture Lily which is the biggest compliment. I hc Lily as being bi and currently my favourite person to ship her with is Pandora but I have Chappell Roan related plans to write a one-shot of MaryLily. Lily's favourite flowers are daisies and angel's breath and you can find them in her hair during the summer. She loves to read either by the fire when it's cold or under a tree in the park in July. She's an omnivert and enjoys quiet study sessions with Remus where they don't have to talk but also is very happy to be dragged up to do karaoke with Mary and Marlene. Mary is a girl's girl. She is the one who teaches the younger students how to do their makeup and and is the chief hair braider. She has a diary the whole way through school and she writes all of her juiciest secrets in there because she knows all the gossip about everyone and keeps them all in the bottom of her trunk. Her favourite song would either be Everywhere by Fleetwood Mac or Does Your Mother Know by ABBA. She is the biggest flirt with everybody and the real Casanova of Gryffindor Tower. If I was going to assign a fc for her it would be Rachel Chinouriri, I think she's so beautiful and the Mary vibes are just there.

Marlene

Marlene being from Manchester is so real for me. She grew up supporting Manchester United and went to the matches with her dad. She is the masc lesbian of my dreams (I saw someone who looked like her once and I might have fell a little bit in love) and they own the wolfcut. Marls can be sighted wearing a little top (baby tee/ tight crop top) and big pants (literally the baggiest jeans you have ever seen). When Chelsea Dagger by The Fratellis comes on, she is singing the loudest. Marlene never came out, everyone just knew they are gay and when they got their first girlfriend everyone just shrugged and was like "cool". Marlene uses she/they pronouns and will punch anyone in the dick if they are mean to her friends. She absolutely adores Dorcas and is like "my girlfriend" at any opportunity. You can catch Marlene dancing along to Seventeen Going Under by Sam Fender because "he just gets me", she she will insist he is the only man she could ever love just to annoy the Marauders boys.

Pandora

My Ravenclaw girliiieeee!! If you couldn't tell, Pandora has really grown on me recently and I am slowly working up to writing a fic where she is in the main ship. Pandora being a Ravenclaw like Luna is so important to me and I hc her as a Rosier and is Evan's twin when I write her, but not the way that people normally write them. Pandora is very adamant that she is her own person and there is more to her than being a twin. She loves her experiments which we know from canon, she would have loved watching How Its Made (the tv show), and was that kid who would take things apart to see how they work. She collects insects like butterflies, moths and beetles and keeps them in a display in her room and has pet stick insects that she loves to freak people out with. Pandora would LOVE Paris Paloma, she's vibing with Labour and Notre Dame and The Fruits. Although I said I love shipping Lily with Pandora, Xenophilius and Pandora (xenodora) have my heart, I love them, they are my favourite straight-presenting queer couple. I think they chose the surname Lovegood when they got married (I hc Xeno as a disowned Malfoy) which I know a few people hc. I could talk about Pandora forever but I will move on.

Dorcas

Last but not least, Dorcas! She's the kind of girl who calls everyone babydoll (Barty loves it). She's such an it-girl and would be the person you see on Instagram posing in front of the houses in Kensington with her iced coffee. Dorcas is taalllll and has legs for days, models should be glad she decided to stick to being the office siren. Her favourite hobbies are judgingly people watching in the window seat of coffee shops, and taming her girlfriend to stop them from trying to fight everyone who looks at the two of them funny. Imagine Rishen befriending this kind, moth/praying mantis goddess who is older and wiser about her insect abilities. And she helps him through his own struggles, like learning how to weave her silks better, or teaching them how to deal with their antennas or helping them to take care of their wings. Sometimes Laurelle asks him to disclose secret embarrassing information from the Anime Club members for blackmail, but Nolan politely declines. He's scared of Erick for some reason. Maybe it's because of how he's so easygoing and extroverted. Likes reading novels or any educational books in general, mainly Science with biology. Despite his geeky look, he can actually sing good! oh, i'm so happy and proud of you anon! as a very avid bug lover, i always love hearing people try to be more open to them, even just slightly!!

a few fun facts:

a single dung beetle can move about 1141 times it's own weight! it's like if a human pulled SIX double decker buses, all on their own!

male stoneflies are like, the gym guy of the bug world - sometimes they'll do pushups as a way to impress a potential mate!

male giraffe weevils use their looong necks to fight eachother, much like actual giraffes!

some tarantulas have been found to essentially keep frogs as pets! the spider will offer safety and protection to frogs while a frog will eat any insects that may try and attack the spiders eggs!! (this habit has also been seen in some other spider species too!)

rosy maple moth (dryocampa rubicunda), also known as the great silk moth! this species is a small north american moth. it's recently surged in popularity due to it's adorable colours and tiny size, even having plushies made after it!

humming bird hawk moth (macroglossum stellatarum) is named for it's resemblance to the humming bird as they feed on the nectar of tube shaped flowers using their long proboscis while staying in the air. this species is found across temperate areas of eurasia such as portugal, japan and spain!

cecropia moth (hyalophora cecropia), aka a giant silk moth is the largest native moth found in north america! their wing can even span up to five-seven inches (13-18 centimeters) wide!

the peacock spider (maratus volans) is a jumping spider native to australia (my country!!) with only one species residing in china! much like the bird they're named after, peacock spiders will display their bright feathers as a mating technique, paired with a dance! it is widely believed that females will kill a male if they find their dance unsatisfactory but this is fortunately, for the men, untrue! she will instead ignore him or move her abdomen side to side to display her disinterest. the maratus sarahae (first image) is one of the largest species! image two is a maratus azureus!

sabertooth longhorn beetle (macrodontia cervicornis) are some of the largest beetles in the world! it spends most of it's life in a larval stage which can last up to 10 years!! after which it will only live a few more months in which it will reproduce. sabertooth larvae are planted under the bark of dead or dying softwood trees as they will burrowing inside it!

The main characters of my fairy AU, which is the adaptation of the Hidden AU and its collaboration story, Journey to Harmony are made by me and @georgi-girl. Each of the seven fairy tribes and subtribes has wings and antennae based on different insects or the wings are based on their elements (the country tribe as earth fairies have leaf or flower petal or fruit slice-shaped wings, the techno tribe as water fairies have fin-like wings, etc.) and the pop trolls as fairies are more of butterfly fairies while Cooper is a moth fairy, just like his parents and his tribe and Queen Rose and her tribe, the platinum trolls are dragonfly fairies. Their outfits are based on the fashion from the Middle Ages, though the fairies' clothes are made out of natural materials, such as leaves and flower petals.

The new Platinum leader and the fairy queen of the fairy kingdom, Queen Rosetta a.k.a Rose has dragonfly wings and antennae just like the members of her court, which is known for the use of light magic. She wears roses and rose petals in her outfits because the flowers match her personality and the rose symbolizes royalty, romance, love, beauty, and courage.

Queen Poppy, the older twin of King Peppy's twin daughters and one of Queen Celestia's wards has the antennae that she, Queen Celestia, and the members of the Snack Pack share because they came from the same court. During the group's search for the Pop court, Poppy acts as a trusted best friend for Queen Rose to rely on in lending a helping hand or wing because they have been inseparable at most times, especially during lessons. She shares with her boyfriend, Branch. Her wings are based on the king swallowtail and her outfits have camellias and their petals as skirts because the flower symbolizes beauty, grace, elegance, love, longevity, happiness, and good fortune,

Branch, on the other hand, is still the cautious and protective but talented butterfly. His skills in survival and protectiveness towards his friends allowed him to join the knights and earn his title as a sir. He and his brothers have the same monarch butterfly wings and his outfits were made of Mexican sage petals and leaves. The sage plant symbolizes bravery, esteem, domestic virtue, longevity, thoughtfulness, good health, and wisdom.

DJ Suki is a music-savvy fairy herself since fairies are known to be musically inclined and she was trained to be a troubadour ever since Queen Celestia took in the Snack Pack after they were separated from the pop fairies during their escape from the giants (the bergens). Sporting red lacewing butterfly wings and wearing clothes with lotus petals, I kinda match her with lotus flowers because they symbolize transcendence, purity, rebirth, and strength.

Cooper is the only moth fairy in the group and is known to work in the castle bakery with Legsly. He was aware that he had a different antennae shape and that his wings were based on a rosy maple moth but what he didn't know was that he was born a fairy prince. His outfits are made of morning glories, which match him perfectly because the flowers symbolize eternal love, rebirth, resilience, life, and unyielding love.

Smidge is a skilled flyer and fighter in her group and she is one of the transgender members. She is the strongest because she trained with the knights alongside Branch but, she tends to be more of a berserker. Her wings are based on an orange sulphur butterfly and her outfits are made out of red dahlias, which symbolize strength, power, perseverance, and prosperity.

Biggie is a big butterfly with a heart of gold. As an animal tamer and the caretaker of the Snack Pack, he takes care of them and keeps them safe with his bow and arrows but he owns a pet fox, whom he names Mr. Dinkles. He has blue morpho butterfly wings and his outfit is made out of pansy flower petals and leaves because it matches his gentle personality and the pansy symbolizes love, loyalty, honesty, devotion, sympathy, and care.

Guy Diamond is a transgender male but he is considered the most beautiful fairy. Sporting glitter on his pink-tipped satyr butterfly wings, he can emit fairy dust from his wake when flying. Queen Rose uses it for potions while Fuzzbert uses the dust for healing. As a new dad to the newborn baby Tiny Diamond, he tries his best to be a good example to his son. His outfits are made out of amaryllis lily petals, which match him because the flower symbolizes pride, strength, determination, beauty, and love.

Satin and Chenille, the fashion twins still love fashion designing and making clothes but their outfits are known among the younger generation of the nobility, the elite, and the wealthy class. They have matching purple emperor wings, cherry blossom outfits, and ponytails that face each other like a mirror, but the sleeves, personalities, and colors set them apart. Cherry blossoms match them because of their traits and the flower symbolizes beauty, passion, love, courage, rebirth, renewal, new beginnings, and the start of spring.

Fuzzbert, though mute, is a skilled healer among his teammates, which comes in handy because of the difficulty of their quest. Using his knowledge of potions and spells to cure his fellow fairies and help anyone in need. His wings are based on a species of a swallowtail butterfly and his outfits are made of sweet pea leaves, which symbolize blissful pleasure, good wishes, kindness, gratitude, and friendship.

Legsly works at the castle bakery with Cooper but she is mainly the most outgoing among the teammates. As a baker, she has a "happy-go-lucky" attitude with a liking for any "good things" and her cooking talent impresses both her friends and guests alike. Her dress is made out of the leaves and the flower of the daffodil, which symbolizes rebirth, new beginnings, hope, joy, and good luck.

If sinners were to be bugs/insects etc, which one would they be?

Okay okay okay. This is a really exciting ask, thank you! I did lots of thinking about this one :3

Ish gets a pea leaf weevil. First of all, not biology based, but weevils are generally liked by people on the internet and I like the way they look. Some of pea leaf weevils look kind of ginger too. So that’s a bonus^^ The main thing about this one that it can survive in a lot of places, that little bug is determined to get by and will not be bothered by a simple relocation. I feel like, that kind of goes along with sailing and being on the move, you have to learn to be versatile. But they are known to like dry places, right? Well, my funniest reason to pick this little guy is that a few years back the country was swarmed with articles because uh oh. Turns out they enjoy the sea a lot. And take residence there as well. And if they got some business, they will not stop just because you’re sitting in the way. The seaside is their place, you’re just visiting it 😌😌

Unfortunately, the common pond skater goes to Sinclair. It would make more sense to give that one to Ishmael instead, but I based this one on behaviour only. See, they are just some common little guys, I like them quite a lot. From what I’ve read they move around quite a lot out of fear of being eaten. But, other than being quite frantic and looking harmless, they are uh… well intense. They can bite you and you *will* feel it, I promise. Don’t pick them up, because as scared as they are, they are capable of fighting back if they need to. Plus, just like many other insects, they are partial to things we could consider off-putting such as cannibalism. I picked this species since they remind me of the ‘he’s just a little guy -> oh, he’s a little f-ed up actually” and that fits the vibes I have from him

Meursaul gets a louse. I don’t like them.

After some thought I have to give Outis a giant horsefly. They look chill, many are, based on personal experience it’s very nice to interact with them. But then again, if the female needs it, she’ll bite you. Nothing personal, simple conflict of interest. I feel like that kind of fits with Outis being a bit… suspicious in her intro but they being so patient with Dante (even if it’s not all that genuine). Also I just like those horseflies :3

I see Don as a grasshopper. This one’s fairly easy - she moves around a lot, distinct fair hair (like the grasshoppers signature light green), is easily recognisable. The freaky anatomy and facts are kind of a bonus here. Besides, they are, quite literally, ancient. And Don’s source isn’t all that recent either

With its… quite different name in my native language, the black beauty walking stick just kind of fits Heathcliff. Being named (again, in my language) the devil scare, it’s known for a few things. Of course first and foremost for its intimidation tactics. They look a bit „scary”, at least that’s what I’ve heard people say, and they add to it with their strategy of covering for vulnerability with their scare tactics. Being seen as „fun silly pets” adds to it for me, because from experience I know that the households that do buy them often don’t really see them as like, a „real animal” and they often get treated like toys or reluctant additions to the family. Based on vibes mostly, Yi Sang is an orchard ermine moth. The colours just make sense for me. Besides, it kind of makes sense from a meta perspective cause their history (the spiecies divide, the unexpected spikes in uneven distribution) is quite interesting and while at first I also looked at Yi Sand as kind of unassuming, the bits of information I have on him now prove me otherwise

Rodya gets desmoxytes purpurosea. It’s a relatively new species, it’s beautiful, popular amongst people. Absolutely amazing. And it smells like almonds. Why? Well, probably due to hydrogen cyanide they produce. Not a surprise considering the hot pink is a pretty good indicator of them being a bit… dangerous to it’s opponents. What girlbosses they are, they get to be cute, hot pink and unassuming AND pretty deadly

Dante gets a summer chafer. Despite being seen as quite useless and a pest, they don’t make much significant damage. Their lifestyle, notably mating, takes quite a toll on their bodies and by the time the female laid eggs a few times (each time the process paired with digging lasts around a day) she passes. They are drawn to light. And look absolutely adorable as a bonus

I wanted to give Ryōshū some sort of a mantis, but I settled on the horrid king assassin bug. This is not a roast, I just think they are and look pretty dangerous while also being damn intimidating. Besides, having a few ways of killing, which makes them more proficient by a long shot, kind of fits in with her whole vibe and the killing thing. I think she would appreciate variety in the craft as well^^

Hong Lu gets the Spiny Flower Mantis. It’s a species well loved and appreciated for their beauty. Look up some pictures, please, they look unreal! The goal is to look similar to flowers. When they feel like they’re in danger, they spread their wings and start flapping them, making the colours on them glimmer. Which I find a bit funny, because it’s also something they do to show off to others. Also having eye-spots kind of sold me on giving it to him, to keep the theme (a lot of art displaying his eyes). They don’t chase after prey, they aren’t known to be a very active species, preferring to sit and wait for things to come to them. Also kind of picky with their living situation, for example they don’t take humidity well in captivity and pretty quickly you will be made aware of that as their home giver

For Faust I settled on a domestic silk moth. They don’t live in the wild since they are pretty important to humans and have been fully domesticated to help out with developing sciences. Mainly, they are tied to research as well as, well, producing silk

Lastly, Gregor. I didn’t want to go for a cockroach, I feel like he gets treated as a vermin enough as is, I really don’t want to perpetuate that (I wouldn’t use ‘cockroach’ as an insult, but he would take it as one, hurtful at that). At first I thought to give him some sort of a beetle. But after thinking more objectively, I settled on a bumblebee. Peaceful, beautiful, soft - overall amazing. Also mostly liked because they are practical to humans, I’m not sure we would like them a whole ton if the argument “don’t kill them, they are useful” didn’t come into play. So that uh… that goes along with certain canon themes. Something something having value if “actual” humans can make use of you. But yeah, well, I don’t want to be all depressing. World cold and hard, bumblebee soft and warm 😌😌

What are your thoughts on silkmoth reader meeting other silkmoth/other moth hybrids? Do you think König would die in a puddle of fluffy moths? Oh gosh now I'm thinking of König meeting an atlas moth hybrid and being kinda like 'why he so big and you so smol'. I dunno, I've got moths on the brains. I'm obsessed with your au (I might make more art of it at some point, this is a warning).

I chose reader to be a silkmoth because they’re a moth species that has been domesticated! Their physiology and behavior have been highly influenced by selective breeding. They can’t even fly— so I thought they’d make a good choice as a kind of sweet and fragile hybrid pet.

I don’t think her meeting other moths would be particularly different from her meeting just anyone because moths don’t particularly engage in social bonding or anything. That’s the trouble with insect hybrids!

Also, while an atlas moth hybrid would be bigger than little domestic silkmoth reader, they’d still be a moth and therefore much smaller than an average grown human being.

And König really is just content with his one moth girl 💖 and she’s kinda imprinted on him. He already worries that he’s not giving her enough attention (objectively untrue).

If you do get them angry, you won’t actually know. They’re eerily unfazed by everything. You realize way too late, that you might have gotten on her bad side, when you wake up tied to a tree covered in honey and other insect attractants.

They regularly practice scaphism. She’s very fascinated by that whole process, and is always interested to see how many days the new victim can live.

(Big ol tw if you look up scaphism, it’s an environmental exposure torture method, and it’s real gross)

Just don’t make her hate you and you’ll be fine. :] they’re very patient.

The maid's hobbies | Walter x Alida (oc)

Hellsing's maid and butler having a rendezvous totally casual conversation. Alida knows exactly what she's doing.

As Walter is walking past Alida's bedchamber, he can't help but stop infront of her open door. 'It gives her a sense of security to leave it open' he remembers. At first he found this reason a bit strange, but after some thought, it's understandable. And she could definietly sense if someone sinister was trying to sneak up on her.

He leans against the doorframe and examines what exactly she's doing. She's slouched over her table with her back to the door, tinkering with gemstones, bones, small chains and clasps. Alida has always loved trinkets of all kind, especially the ones you could hang on yourself by turning it into extravagant jewelry. She collected these trinkets from basically everywhere she went. If it was shiny and pretty enough, she took it. This eventually became another little problem of the Organization, as she was caught multiple times stealing precious gemstones from jewelers and pocketing dead bodies during her cleanups.

Only one of her moths are out of the shadows today. Her "winged puppy" (as she likes to call them) is resting on her left hand, she pets it with a finger every now and then. It was never clear what her moths actually were, and Alida never gave a clear answer about them, always just calling them her little helpers.

She is quietly singing a song, and Walter already recognises it by now, she sings it so much. Gloomy Sunday. The so called "Hungarian suicide song". It's quite the choice of song to sing, but it seemed to be one of her favourites to perform to the moths and herself.

The serene scene infront of him makes Walter forget about everything else on his mind right now, as he watches the delicate moves of Alida's hands and listens to the familiar melody.

"I was just quite interested in your work Miss, I'm sorry for disturbing you!" says Walter with a nod. "Ah, drop the act please!" Alida sighs. "C'mere, sit with me!" she pats the chair next to her. Walter shakes his head and sighs, but has a smile creeping on his face as he walks over to the maid and sits down beside her.

"Szomorú Vasárnap száz fehér virággal...¹ " she starts the verse, but stops suddenly, putting her tools down. "I know you are there Dornez, don't mess with me." she says, not even looking up from her work. There's no actual anger in her voice. Walter snaps out of his almost trance by the sudden callout. The surname-calling is also a habit of hers he needs to get more used to. He quickly collects himself, stepping into the room.

"What brought you here truly, Walter?" she asks smirking, turning her head so they can be face to face. She has her usual tired look, with a slight smile. "As I said Miss Alida, I am just curious about your work." Walter smiles back at her. "You just can't stay out of my room, can't you?" she says, followed by a teasing "Tsk tsk tsk!" while crossing her arms. He does not answer, only huffs and shakes his head slightly.

The butlers eyes start to wander around the many knick knacks haphazardly laying around her table. Bracelets made out of small rocks, crystal pendants, tiny insects in resin, gemstones in many shapes, extravagant necklaces with the teeth of some monster, and a worn and torn leatherbound journal with a tag, reading "Property of Alida Baráth", written unmistakably by her.

Walter found her hobbies endearing, it was getting harder day by day to try and hide it. Even when she got in trouble for her kleptomaniac tendencies and he was in charge to lecture her that day, when he had to decipher her angry ramblings, when he was faced with her unorthodox work methods, he was still drawn to her presence, like a moth to the light of the Moon. But he himself couldn't undertand these feelings, so he just put them on the back burner for now.

A particular pendant catches Walter's attention. It's a blue polished stone, adorned with thin silver swirls around it, ending in a loop at the top. The stone has a kind of raw look to it still, with it's sharp edges and asymmetry. His eyes linger on it for a while, until Alida's voice, yet again, snaps him out of his thoughts.

"You like that one?" She taps her finger next to the pendant. "Well yes, it's quite a beautiful pendant Miss!" he praises. "Well thank you so much!" she says in a kind of giddy way. "Polished and decorated it myself! This stone is called lapis lazuli, it was pretty hard to get my hands on!" She winks. Yeah, she absolutely stole it. And he'll choose to ignore it now.

"I have to admit, it's impressive handywork you've done on this piece!" the butler says with a nod of approval. Alida tilts her head, a teasing look creeping up on her face. "Ahh, no need to butter me up Walter, just tell me you want it, I won't mind, it's on the house Bogaram!² " That nickname again. Before Walter could even stutter out a word, she's already lifting the pendant next to his face, looking back and forth between them. "Of cooourse you want it, look how much it matches you! Like it was made just for you!" She then quickly snatches a slim silver chain and puts it through the pendant's loop in the blink of an eye, proudly showing it off.

"There's- there's really no need to give it to me Miss! It's your hard work after all!" he stutters out finally, putting his hands up in protest. The maid just shakes her head and stands up from her seat. "Nonszensz, nonszensz drága.³ " she whispers under her nose leaning towards him.

Alida slowly reaches to his neck with the open necklace in both hands. "Stay still now, the clasp is reeeeal tiny and your hair is also in the way." she mumbles close to his ear, clearly concentrating. Her accent is much thicker like this. Her cold fingers brush against the nape of his neck while she keeps mumbling something about his hair and the colors of the necklace in his ear.

It's like a dam in Walter's mind breaks.

After what feels like hours, the necklace is finally secured. "Great!" Alida whispers, still not moving an inch. "There you go, Sir." she says, almost like a purr. This is all it takes for Walter to basically short circuit. He quickly tries to hide it before the maid notices, but the flush on his cheeks betrays him. Alida plops back into her chair with a satisfied smile.

"Sooo -" she starts, but the butler cuts her off. "I'm-" a cough "I'm sorry, but I have to leave now Miss Alida, I hope you'll excuse me!" He jumps to his feet, straightening his back. "What a busy man! No need to say sorry Walter!" she sighs. With that, he bows and takes his way towards the door. But before he can leave Alida calls out to him. "You can come by any time you want, okay? I appreciate some company." He turns his head back. "I certainly will, Miss." he says. Alida nods.

As Walter's basically strutting through the hallways, he reaches for the pendant proudly shining on his necklace, and looks down at it. Oh, he will certainly come by Miss Alida's room more often!

So hi!

Anyway I was thinking. And you made an amazing post about Evan being afraid of losing control, and Evan liking spiders. My tiny mind bonded those two together.

Evan having arachnophobia. Evan being afraid of losing control, and realizing fear is the strongest emotion. So he keeps his biggest fear on him at all times. It started off small, staring at spiders, watching them and studying them. And then he touched one, and it freaked him out (that was a bad day) but he tried it again. And over time it got better. Until he was finally able to grab one, so he did. Keeping one on hand, looking at it, making a home for it. He named it. All a way to be afraid, because he learned that when he was afraid he couldn’t do anything. So he continued, and you’d think wouldn’t he no longer be scared? No. Because now he’d associated spiders with fear so he doesn’t even have to be scared to have that panic in his chest whenever he sees one.

This happens with all bugs as well. Cockroaches, butterflies, moths, even scorpions, just any bug he finds. Pandora definitely helped with that, as she had her obsession so he had her in mind, a way to continue. Don’t give up, don’t disappoint her.

This is definitely not based off of my obsession with spiders/insects while also being deathly afraid.

i love this take!!!! the idea of evan keeping a spider as a reminder of some sorts…a reminder of what it felt like to be Afraid: the way his body broke out in a cold sweat, the way his heart rate increased, the way he struggled to breathe. he started to feel out of control of his own body, and there is nothing evan rosier hates more than that feeling of helplessness. yes, his pet spider helps to remind him that he can get over his fears, but more than that, having one nestling on his shoulder at all times serves as a very effective reminder of what it feels liked to suffer that overwhelming panic and sense of spiralling that comes from phobias. they remind him of what it feels like to lose control, a fear which rapidly replaces his fear of spiders.

evan being deathly afraid of spiders whilst pandora is obsessed with them is also such a nice part of their twinhood, like him being left-handed and her being right-handed, or each of them having a mole on opposite cheeks. however, this is also why i find it hard to agree with the point about evan using pandora as motivation for overcoming his phobia. the rosier twins are direct Clones-And-Yet-Also-Parallels of each other: the things that are the same between them are identical, and the things that are different are polar opposites. they are like a one and one’s reflection in a mirror- startlingly identical, but simultaneously, every feature is inverted in the glass. i cant imagine evan wanting to disrupt the natural flow of this way they reflect each other, and both twins are much too self-serving to put that much effort (in overcoming a fear) for anyone else, even each other. no, the only reason evan rosier is doing anything monumental is if he directly gains from it, and the feeling of empowerment he gains from slowly recovering control is more that enough.

Shinobu and The Cat She Tolerates

It’s not that Shinobu Kocho hated dogs or cats; she just didn’t see the appeal in them. Owning pets demanded too much attention—walking them, providing enrichment, and cleaning up after them felt like chores. She preferred cleaning up fecal matter through a diaper rather than off the ground or from a litter box. Their fur got everywhere, they could damage furniture, smelled, and were often very loud.

Okay, maybe she disliked them, but hate was too strong a word. Tolerating them seemed more accurate. She wouldn’t go out of her way to avoid or mistreat them; she wasn’t cruel. It also didn’t help that animals tended not to like her back. Whenever she visited Sanemi’s place, his dogs always barked at her.

“It’s because they know you’re a freak of nature who doesn’t like them.”

“Watch it, you’re lucky Kanae likes you or I would’ve poisoned you by now.”

Even Kanroji’s cats, the sweetest creatures in Kanroji’s opinion, hissed and clawed at her.

“I’m sorry, Shinobu-chan! They’re usually so friendly, I swear!” Kanroji apologizes as Shinobu bleeds slightly on her hand.

Suppressing her annoyance (knowing it’s not Kanroji’s fault), Shinobu asks, “It’s okay, Kanroji-san. Do you have any antiseptics?”

Overall, she preferred other animals like fish, reptiles, and insects. She had her prized goldfish that she had properly cared for over the past ten years. In the past, she had raised silk moths and caterpillars because their patterns were beautiful. Some people might have thought it weird, but she saw it as a win. At the end of the day, all she had to do was clean a few tanks and feed them—no walking, no training, and no complaints from neighbors about loud pets.

Sure, she had to be meticulous about temperature and humidity levels, but it was all scientific, and she loved science.

Among science, another thing she dearly loved was her boyfriend, Giyuu Tomioka. They had only recently started dating, but they had known each other for years through their interconnected friend circles. She had crushed on him for years, and so had he, but personal issues had delayed their confession. When they finally did, being together felt natural.

Shinobu loved Giyuu deeply. He was sweet and attentive, always kind to her and never underestimating her abilities despite her small stature. He didn’t talk much, but he showed his care through small actions like preparing her tea just the way she liked or picking up groceries when she was busy. When he did speak, he matched her wit or surrendered to her teasing without offense.

It also helped that he was quite handsome, though the best part was that he didn’t seem to know it. Trust her, she wasn’t shallow, but she appreciated his piercing blue eyes that lit up only when she was around. She loved running her hands through his long, soft hair and admired his toned figure from years of sports and training. And he was quite skilled in bed.

But beyond that, she loved him deeply and couldn’t imagine life without him. However, when he showed up at her apartment with a cat in hand, she began debating whether she should reconsider.
