i love him. another victim of the Black Character with Crazy Amounts of Potential Killed Off Unnecessarily supernatural saga. he was very entertaining and one of the few antagonists that actually felt like a threat to samdean to me. and seeing samdean from an "outside" perspective is so so interesting which makes the fact that they wasted that opportunity even more annoying

it wouldve been so awesome if he had become a recurring character (maybe working with diana from 2.07!), helping them with fbi/cover-up stuff etc. he'd have sources for weird cases that he couldve pointed them to, showed up to go along on some for one or two episodes per season. unfortunately i think if he had stayed post-s7 he wouldve just become another of Side Character For Dean like charlie

literally what was the reason for establishing that henriksen was frustrated with his job as a federal agent, had nothing tying him down to an apple pie life, and that he quickly and easily adapted to the supernatural world

only to kill him at the end of the very same episode?????

in my ideal universe henriksen wouldn’t have died in s3 and would instead be a series long recurring character with a holt/wuntch rapport with dean. henriksen walking into whatever small town station sam and dean are being held at and going “winchesters” and dean responding “henriksen. i wondered why all the birds had suddenly stopped singing.” i think this would’ve been fun but no. no supernatural isn’t allowed joy or whimsy.
