Berry Bomb 

1⁄4 oz. simple syrup

2 oz. mixed fresh strawberries

3⁄4 oz. MYSTIC HEMP vodka

3⁄4 oz. St. Germain elderflower liqueur

1⁄4 oz. lemon juice

Champagne, to top

Strawberry to garnish

Instructions

Muddle the fresh berries and simple syrup in a cocktail shaker. Add vodka, St. Germain, lemon juice, and ice, shaking. Strain into a Champagne flute and top gently with Champagne, letting the foam subside and topping again until the glass is filled. Garnish with fresh strawberry.

Review: ELATION VODKA

You know I’m always on the look out for new vodkas, especially those made with or from unusual ingredients. When I found out about Elation Vodka, I simply had to find out more about this vodka that declares itself as the “first legal hemp flavored vodka”.

This hemp-flavored vodka - YES, I said HEMP - is made in Switzerland, is 3x distilled and filtered 10 times. Made from wheat, rye, Swiss Alps water and Swiss hemp buds (not seeds), Elation Vodka won a Silver Medal at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition in 2015 for it’s unique blend of flavors. 

TASTING: Upon opening the bottle, you instantly get the aroma of fresh botanicals - almost like a nice gin. I like to put my nose right into it and this vodka definitely has a very spicy nose. Because of that, I’ll admit I hesitated a few minutes before getting the courage to taste it (Those that know me well, know I’m a wuss when it comes to spicy things). The first sip is always the interesting one and this one was full of flavor - buttery, hints of herbs and of course, hemp and has a peppery finish. It had no grainy harshness as you may think a hemp flavored vodka would have although it does tingle going down. The layering of flavors makes this an enjoyable selection. It’s important to note that this contains no THC - sorry folks!

RECOMMENDATION: I’m happy to say because of it’s peppery hints, it’s PERFECT for a bloody mary. My go-to is vodka tonic, but this cocktail didn’t do it justice. The magic equation was Elation on the rocks with just a splash of lime. I like to keep my drinks simple and to 3 ingredients or less. It mixes well and would make a nice martini and Moscow mule.

FINAL REMARKS: The hemp in this vodka truly shines through and makes for a surprisingly smooth spirit.

2 parts of melon liqueur

 Instructions

Fill a  cocktail shaker with ice cubes and add MYSTIC,  crème de cacao, Melon liqueur. Shake well, strain and pour into a regular glass or a shot glass.
