#Selfie
I decided to liberate a morning selfie to say personally "Hi" to many good people surfing frequently Tumblr with the immense courtesy to stop on this blog leaving their respects on few publications of mine.
Because after all, we are still humans, right?

I drew Ahti II's pet pike!! Her name is Kultakutri (Goldilocks) and she's a Golden Royal domestic pike, a breed that has been specifically bred to appear as light and yellow as possible.
Tumblr media
Ahti II raised her from an egg and she’s about ten years old now — doesn’t mean she’s not Baby anymore, though.

yk what this is not a post for the tags tbqh. im gonna be so real rn i cannot stand reading takes from usamericans about venezuela. like, i understand and agree that you should be allowed to critique and question all kinds of US intervention or support. which is why anyone would be hesitant to support the US backed opposition in venezuela. but at the same time you should also be able to recognize that this country has been suffering under a left wing dictatorship for the past 20+ years that has constantly cheated and committed fraud, imprisoned political opponents, violated human rights, and more recently, lead their country into starvation and an economic crisis. like. there HAS to be change!! it's gone on for too long!! anyone who has looked into venezuela even a little beyond the surface will realize this! i'm not asking for a US intervention either i'm just saying that you SHOULD NOT be supporting maduro's reelection and the majority of venezuelans wouldn't want you to either because he DID not win

absolutely love how the ART gatsby marketing team is essentially doing the exact opposite of what the broadway/paper mill gatsby has been doing
#more below but it’s so interesting#paper mill/bway has hours of footage of the show/bts/cast interviews/tiktoks etc hell they even got waiting in the wings to make them a doc#while we quite literally only have four official photos from the ART production#if you don’t count the workshop photos that basically reveal nothing. and that’s it#both strategies are effective because it brings in diff demographics— bway latches onto trends to kind of break out from the broadway#bubble but also like appeal to younger audiences and yknow theater kids who grovel at the leads’ feet#ART barely promotes itself yet it’s drawing people in by mostly word of mouth—ie the reviews. i think the phone ban rly works well w this#i’d say their promotion relies heavily on the anticipation ppl experience when they see recaps and reviews and descriptions that we#don’t have photos or clips to reference from and look to#does that make sense#i think they’ll release more stuff eventually but rn it feels like they’re. well. edging us for the lack of a better term bc my brains frie#AND this might be obvious but i think these two strategies rly reflect the tone/direction and target demographic of the respective shows#anyways i would kill to see them both but especially ART unfortunately i am from the southern hemisphere#art gatsby#gatsby an american myth#the great gatsby broadway#gatsby musical#i also will say that i Have been susceptible to gatsby bway marketing. roaring on is EXTREMELY catchy and a banger kinda#where’s the party and can you take me there…

anyways i’m thinking about my birthday and im wondering what i should do (its in june). i dont wanna just go out to dinner because i did that last year and it was basically just… ik i can do better. whatever i do i know ill probably do on the friday or saturday night before or after bc my birthday is a weekday. it will also probably be my high school group (5 ppl) my hometown friends (2 ppl) and my work bestie (1 ppl).
1. powerpoint night.
pros:
- its cheap. can be done at my house and is really casual
- this is something i’ve wanted to do for a while (i actually wanted one for my 19th but my ex friends talked me out of it because they wouldn’t like it)
- my friends who havent met my cat can meet my cat
cons:
- will be getting a few different groups of friends together so it may be awkward for these people to present/ find topic
- my sister turned the ‘hangout space” into her hsc study area and really is anti giving it up for one night (i tried once). also her stuff gives bad vodoo bc hsc
- will probably have to kick family out
- i feel some ppl find the notion of a powerpoint presentation stressful bc high school (probably why my ex friends weren’t too keen)
- my house isnt great for public transport and funnily enough the friends who live furthest away don’t have their license . its a locals only bus service. you can tell.
2. escape room
pros
- really easy team building plus it doesn’t matter if its all different groups /some people don’t know each other well.
cons.
- expensive as fuck
- done lots of escape rooms
- doing with lots of people can be overwhelming and smaller teams kinda work better here (i did an escape room once and the team was like ten people and it was Too Much. i stood there useless half the time.)
3. quiz room
pros.
- really cool and unique also im a sucker for trivia and irl game show sounds cool.
- probably good for my desired group size.
- public transport accessible
cons.
- its literally $45 pp and like ik my friends aren’t that stingy but even im going… yikes
- will probably have to be organised far in advance
4. karaoke
pros.
- really affordable if you do it right
- reliable. really easy to organise and i know how to.
- public transport accessible
cons.
- my friends and i do this all the time
- once again the three ppl there who don’t really know my high school friends might find it awkward
- if i do it i wanna go somewhere other than my place in chinatown
anyways idk. sound off in replies if you have advice or ideas bc i generally do not know anymore. might out up a poll.

#TheGreatBlueHeron
The Great Blue Herons, after catching a fish, typically do not wait before beginning to digest their meal. And once they've swallowed their prey whole, they start the process of digestion immediately while taking a comfortably nap on a rock, enjoying the sun.

i understand the instinct to tie the warm winter this year to climate change, and I'm not gonna say it's wrong to assume climate change has something to do with it obviously, but everyone in the tags talking about how they're so scared that it's so warm out should still make sure they know that it's an el niño year. how el niño precisely impacts weather events varies wildly depending on your location and the season (sometimes warmer/drier, sometimes colder/wetter), and if it helps assuage your fears i recommend checking out what meteorologists in your area have to say about how el niño will play out for you. but i at least know most of the united states and canada are projected to have a warmer winter than average because of it. the next question might be, can we attribute the particular warmth of this el niño winter so far to climate change? it's true that some climate models show that el niño events "will become more frequent and more intense" as climate change continues, but it's complex, there's a lack of consistency across different models, and folks are still working hard to figure it out. a 2021 IPCC report (link to helpful overview) showed an increased strength in ENSO sea-surface temperature anomalies since 1950, but "both paleoclimate data and climate models indicate that any changes seen are well within the range of natural variability"—it's possible that climate change accounts for increased strength, but at least right now, it's not really clear. for now, just try your best to make the most of whatever weird weather comes your way.
