hello i would like to know more about Patrick his story sounds interesting!

AHHHHH hello yes!!! I would love to talk about Patrick more!!!!!

So Patrick is an oc in this little story i've been developing over the last couple of years!! He's my main character (one of four) and is the most Fucked in my opinion, haha, so you know he's my favorite guy to talk about

Patrick is a character that has deeply fucked up in the past and spends sooooo much of his present trying to atone for those mistakes

So, beginning info:

broke as hell

was kicked out of his house at 18. this was mostly due to said family's struggle with poverty. this is important

has a twin bro (that i will get into later)

He spent some time in debt trouble with no help and was living on the run for a couple of years before he met this entity called Lasair (aka, a Spirit, which are basically the gods of this world). They bond, and it extends an olive branch to Patrick. Aka the guy basically desperate for connection and love. Lasair is an asshole who uses this to its advantage. I'm summing up a lot here, but in short, Patrick winds up helping Lasair with its plan to burn the world to the ground bc humanity sucks ass and we’re all terrible and deserve to be destroyed (but not actually!!!! The whole story is abt fighting this worldview). Eventually, after a lot of thinking and some convincing from some of their victims, he starts to have doubts,,, and oh well shit he’s got a brother doesn’t he. There might be a few ppl worth saving,,, oh no…. So he realizes that he needs to stop this right now actually (again, this is summed up, but that whole process takes a good few years of doubt in order to kick in. bestie's been thoroughly indoctrinated into lasair's thing for a while)

Patrick runs away, and vows to destroy Lasair's whole operation. Unfortunately, he's back on the run and is being chased down by some of Lasair's assets. Back to square one, basically.

BUT, he does have one hope!!! His twin, Philemon (Phil, who I often misspell as Phile, lol), who he has been estranged from for about a decade now, is still kicking, so Patrick runs over to him for help because who else is he supposed to ask. From here, the two of them begin to travel together (Phil, unwillingly at first) and try to find a way to defeat Lasair, later recruiting two more friends!! (who i'm still developing jskfjlj)

His character is sooo fun for me to talk about, mostly because he kinda fits most archetypes of characters i adore haha. Deeply fucked little guy who's learning how to love again <3 and is having to unlearn a loooooooot of stuff, holy shit

Speaking of which: he's got some real bad martyr issues, and believes that his actions during that decade he spent with Lasair define him; he thinks he is irredeemable. In life, anyways. His whole plan is to kill off or seal away Lasair in some big, grand, self-sacrificing act so he can a, destroy the monster he feels he created and b, somewhat redeem himself in death. Like,, he believes that this is the only thing that can redeem him to both his loved ones and family, so he's dead set on this ending despite his loved one's objections. Of course, over the course of traveling with Phil and the later members of their group, he sort-of begins to see the beauty in living, which becomes a nice contrast to Lasair's view of the world!! His whole character arc ends with him realizing that he wants to live and it makes me sob

anyways here's a few things I don't know how to work into this coherently but want to mention anyways:

he literally befriends the spirit of death. they're besties bc he nearly dies a lot. also death might kinda be into him,, bc apparently he’s a magnet for weird godlike creature’s attraction

fucked a literal fire. like it was lasair but,, that spirit's made of fire my guy…. how are you doing….

O yeah,,,, him and Las were kind of in a relationship. I say kind of bc it didn’t have a label but like. Yeah. And it wasn’t good

actually yeah ask me abt lasair its design makes me unwell /posi so do all the other spirits

he decided the best course of action into getting phil to help him was a, break into his apartment, b, accidentally terrorize him with the people trying to hunt him down, and c, kidnap?? him??? (but only for like a minute)

those assets are called the Illusionist and the Mirror btw and i like them too

Actually Pls somebody help Phil all he wanted was to escape his hometown and become a big shot engineer he did not want to be roped into whatever the hell this is

anyways. I am completely unwell for him and think about him way too much,,, i really need to work on developing it more than i have,,, especially since i've got a whooollee lot of worldbuilding to do hehe. Thanks for asking about him though!!!! I hope this was coherent, haha, i've been dying to talk abt this fella for ages

Hello, my fellow metaphor-phile 😊

Maggie sells records & film stuff and she represents Aziraphale's ties to the human world, as he's known her family back generations. While she sells music, she differs from the other shopkeeper who also does-- Mr. Arnold-- because he sells musical instruments. He sells the means by which you make art. They both symbolize music and art but Mr. Arnold is more creativity and creative expression. Especially true because he's weak for Doctor Who, which is a nod towards how love of stories can get you through and how you can do things like write absurd amounts of Good Omens meta on the Tumblr Dot Com to keep the darkness at bay (or so I hear *looks around innocently* lol). He is creativity, music, stories, love of & engagement with art.

Maggie shares a lot of that with Mr. Arnold but since she primarily sells other people's art in record form, she's more history, especially through art. A sense of connection through the lived experiences of others. Feeling seen when you hear a song that embodies how you feel-- that sort of thing. For Aziraphale, she's also literally representing humanity as a whole, because of her being the human whose family he has known. She's representing his history with building Whickber Street and trying to be part of humanity.

Nina runs Give Me Coffee. Even though Crowley & Aziraphale also make coffee sexually euphemistic (to be fair, they seem to make virtually everything sexually euphemistic), coffee in her American-themed shop is also freedom. Nina is the future, the prospect of the life Aziraphale wants if he can get beyond his struggles. Her staying is a big deal, symbolically, because she is partnered with Maggie, who we said also represents the street's history while Nina is its future. Together, they're a sense of moving forward that Aziraphale, even at his worse, can't fully shake, which is definitely a good thing. Nina is also the newest member of the Whickber Street group, as she's been running the shop only since post-S1, so that helps to reinforce the idea of things moving forward and also helps her to represent some perspective for Aziraphale, like when he has to explain things like the fire to her.

Gabriel is, for better or worse, Aziraphale's family. He and Maggie are the only characters aside from Crowley who kind of fall into that category for Aziraphale. Maggie (and, now, Nina) are Aziraphale's human family while Gabriel is the closest thing Aziraphale has to family in the world he comes from. Gabriel also represents a sort of hope for Aziraphale that things in Heaven can change, at least somewhat, because if he's running around in an argyle sweater making everyone hot cocoa, well, anything's possible, right? lol He's there because your family (the ones you can truly trust, like Aziraphale can with Gabriel) can help you through rough times-- if you let them and, as we see, Aziraphale really only let Gabriel help so far before he sent him out of sight.

The darkly funny part there is that Gabriel's suggestion actually could have stopped the attack entirely had Aziraphale chosen to listen to him because remember what he offered to do?

He offered to make people hot chocolates.

It sounded absurd to everyone, right? It's played for laughs. Everyone's like thanks but no thanks! not right now, Jim, we're playing Ghostbusters with the random demons! Yet...

...did Gabriel not actually have the single greatest idea as to how to stop the bookshop attack when you really stop and think about it? It's definitely a great idea for soothing anxiety, there's that much, at least...

So, Gabriel, Maggie and Nina team up to protect Aziraphale-- his supernatural world coming together with the human world to help him. And how are they doing that? What's Jim rounding up and supplying to Maggie and Nina on the front lines?

Fire extinguishers.

Because Crowley is never fully out of the bookshop.

The shop has 8500 fire extinguishers because Aziraphale isn't the only one who lives in it who has trauma and the pain of those you love is your own pain, too. Aziraphale armed the place to the teeth with anti-fire tools to try to help Crowley with his PTSD so he'd feel safe because sometimes the best way to help manage our own stress is to help someone we love take care of theirs. Because working together and looking after each other is how everyone stays healthy. As is the case with so many, Aziraphale is the first to have that mindset when it comes to other people but not with himself, which is really the whole issue.

So, Maggie, Nina and Gabriel are only able to actually help protect Aziraphale and the-shop-that-is-Aziraphale because of Crowley and his own trauma because one way you learn how to deal with your own stuff is by listening to and helping others deal with theirs.

You can also read. Throw some old encyclopedias at your inner demons. Hold them back for awhile with facts and data but, as everyone knows, that only goes so far because emotions aren't terribly logical. Obviously, as Nina reminds us, no one can read fiction while having a mental health breakdown but they can sometimes briefly manage to try to read a smidgen of a self-help something, even if it's never enough to stave off a full-blown attack, as was the case in the bookshop attack. Those encyclopedias didn't hold off the demons for very long.

They did help keep the demons confined to the entryway and the living room, though. They kept them from getting all the way up the stairs, deeper into the private space of the shop.

Note the really lovely symbolism of the one door that never gets opened during any of this season of mental health crisis being Aziraphale's bedroom (only he and Crowley can get in there and the door stays closed the entire season) and Aziraphale blowing up his halo to keep the demons from getting up the stairs, into the residence, and anywhere near it.

Maggie and Nina and Gabriel are allowed up there, into the personal space-- on the landing, in the guest room-- because they're family but there is a part of the bookshop (so, of Aziraphale) to which only Crowley can open the door and Aziraphale will literally stand outside it and guard it through his worst anxiety and not let anyone through for both of their sakes.

This is not a halo above his head-- it's a band around his mind. It causes him emotional distress, physical pain, tears, shortness of breath. If it feels like I'm describing an anxiety attack, that's because I am, because that's what this looks like to me:

The Suggestion Box

There's really only one alternate plan that could have been what Aziraphale was trying to suggest here-- and it was a much better plan. One that could have maybe changed the course of everything in S2 had Crowley been willing to listen the note that Aziraphale wanted to put in the suggestion box here. Ah, irony...

Aziraphale's suggestion was to have Gabriel take the humans out of the shop.

Gabriel could have done the same thing as Crowley did in taking them out and making sure they got safely through the demons. He then could have come back and helped Crowley and Aziraphale with the shop against the demons, as needed.

Why is this a better plan to Aziraphale?

Because it means that Crowley isn't going out into a pack of demons in the dark. Shax is leading an attack on the shop. Aziraphale doesn't trust that Crowley isn't going to end up hurt or dead if he goes out there. They both have bucketloads of trauma related to times where Crowley was taken by Hell and separated from Aziraphale in the past.

Furthering the irony?

This whole party was Aziraphale trying to make them not a secret anymore, which would include them stopping try to hide the fact that Crowley basically lives in the shop. The party was supposed to make it so that there was never another night in which they were apart again by the morning. The party was supposed to be the start of Crowley not leaving in the dark and what happens during the party?He leaves in the dark and he doesn't come back when he said he'd come back, leaving Aziraphale panicking that something has happened to Crowley. Exactly what Aziraphale was trying to avoid them going through again.

He is trying to tell Crowley that maybe Crowley doesn't have to do this when there's a better option. They can get the humans safely home and also be safe themselves because they're not on their own anymore.

They have Gabriel.

He can-- and will-- help protect them both, the way they are helping to do that for him. The demons can't identify Gabriel so he is safer out there among them than Crowley would be and he's willing to help.

The irony is that Crowley's fall really began in earnest out of feeling like his point of view was being overlooked. S2 begins with Crowley yearning to be heard, as expressed by his idea that God should have a suggestion box and be willing to entertain the viewpoints of the angels. It's then Crowley, though, who doesn't hear out Aziraphale's suggestion for a plan that might have made things turn out completely differently.

How differently? Because Crowley doesn't come back all night, he and Aziraphale never have any time alone to speak freely from the moment he leaves the bookshop with the humans through the end of S2. They are unable to talk openly and make a plan together and wind up trying to tell one another what they think is happening and a plan for it while being watched.

As we know, it's a disaster and a half-- just a five alarm dumpster fire of miscommunications-- that all may well have led to Aziraphale's fall and all of which could have been avoided had Crowley been willing to open up the suggestion box.

Hello! I’m a Pagan and a baby witch. I was raised Christian and suffer from OCD and anxiety, so I still have some internalized trauma. I don’t know how much of what I was taught is true, but is it possible to accidentally sell your soul (or even possible at all)? This is one of the things I’m most anxious about, as my OCD makes me say certain things (say the word “promise” and such on) and I really don’t want to accidentally do anything binding. Sorry if this question was all over the place, and thank you if you respond!

this is such an interesting question, thanks for sharing this about yourself. I also suffer from OCD, and if I have learned anything in my treatment journey (and in my education as a psychology student and practicing under supervision), it is this: OCD is a disorder of great doubting, the disorder of “what ifs”, it makes you question the possibility of your fears being/coming true, especially things we may have no control over. To dwell on and obsess on the possibility, and to seek reassurance that your fears will not happen. We seek reassurance from outside sources and from arguing/debating with our own thoughts. This ask itself is a good example of seeking reassurance- searching on the internet to make sure that X obsession won’t happen (like searching online for tips/signs to make sure you don’t unknowingly fit the characteristics of a serial killer or a p*d*phile or whatever messed up intrusive obsession your brain tries to make you believe could happen). In this case, asking a spiritual blog online about the possibility of one of your biggest fears, selling your soul, happening. This response may be difficult to read, as it involves a certain exposure to that fear via a lack of reassurance that this fear will not happen (but no, i’m not gonna be a dick and tell you with certainty that “oh yea it’s totally possible” or anything like that, don’t worry). This does not mix well with religious trauma, or any trauma, I know personally. Please check in with yourself about whether you feel safe continuing. this is officially a trigger warning. If you do not feel safe to continue, please do not do so, and feel free to message me again if you would like to let me know you felt safer not to continue. It’s ok to just leave this. It’s ok to send a “I couldn’t read that, and wasn’t expecting an answer that could be triggering” that’s ok!

The thing is, seeking reassurance is another form of reinforcing the thoughts, just as any of our compulsion also reinforce the obsession. For example, the internal thoughts to “erase” or “undo” the “bad thoughts” or make sure they don’t come true. The way to combat this, although EXTREMELY uncomfortable, is to sit in the discomfort of the uncertainty. This seems wild, but it’s called exposure and response prevention, where you expose your mind to the discomfort of the possibility that maybe your fears CAN come true, and to understand that although the uncertainty is scary, it’s ok to exist in this uncertain state where you aren’t 100% sure your fear won’t come true.

OCD not only gives you the compulsion to say “promise”, but also the obsessive thought of “what if I accidentally sell my soul”. That fear is an OCD driven thought, and this ask might accidentally be a search for reassurance. So, my friend, I regret to type this answer, because I have been there and know how scary and uncomfortable this is to hear, but here it is:

Nothing anyone can tell you can ever give you 100% certainty that there is no such thing as accidentally selling your soul. I don’t know if it’s possible, and truly no one can say they know for sure, only what they believe in. Another blog could tell you it isn’t possible, but they could be wrong, who knows. This is an uncertain and scary “what if”, because the idea of selling our souls is terrifying, especially for those of us with religious trauma. Maybe it is possible, maybe it’s not.

Some journaling ideas: How does it feel to sit in the discomfort of this uncertainty? What additional fears/images are maybe coming up, if any, from your religious upbringing? What answer were you hoping for? What ideas come to mind as a way that you could find certainty/reassurance elsewhere? Maybe you’re thinking “I should ask someone else to get an actual yes/no” or that you should google more info? Observe that. If your fear is possible- then what? What would life look like after it “happens”? If it isn’t possible, then what? What can you do to help yourself cope and distract from this area? What qualities in yourself can you access, to remind yourself that even IF this fear were to come true, that you will be ok? Perhaps journal your anxiety levels at different stages- after having read this, and 5 minutes later, and 15 minutes later. Typically the anxiety level of this exposure to the feared outcome tends to peak and then fall again after a while, here is a link to different skills used to manage through that peak.

I hope I haven’t scared you too much, and trust that I know how difficult it is to sit in this. I large part of growing into my spiritual practice has been catching where OCD is just trying to find certainty, reassurance, and control in a scary world. You can do this <3 Even without a certain answer that this fear won’t come true, I promise you are safe.

LASTLY, if you’ve read this far, there’s this awesome app called NOCD, that I highly recommend! It can connect you to professional help, and the app itself has educational information on “different” OCDs and tracking exposure and response prevention yourself, while also being a community of people with OCD that help each other. Super helpful for me :)

PLEASE READ

Hello, a while back, I came across a user by the name of @/Reapershusband (previously known as Kuroishinigami) who made a callout post regarding a person by the name @/inuyaship; (someone who had just barely turned 18, a month before the post was made) accusing said person of being a pedophile. As I was going to block the person, I remembered that it's best to not always believe everything you hear until you've heard all sides of the story. So I seeked out @/inuyaship and asked about his side of the story to hear what happened.

So far from what I've seen in Reapershusband post, he claimed that Inuyaship was using "the I never had a childhood" and "I'm a csa survivor" cards, as well as claiming that Inuyaship views his f/os in a sexual light. Reapershusband also included that Inuyaship believes that fiction affects reality. Which it can, fiction can affect reality.

From what I've learned, Reapershusband was a friend of Inuyaship's. He knew of Inuyaships past trauma and took it to create a callout post, claiming that he was the same as those who have wronged him. Claiming that he was the same who have hurt him.

Look, claiming that someone is the same as the person who assaulted them, that's an incredibly horrible thing to do. As well as trying to invalidate someone else's trauma, not everyone experiences or copes within the same.

Making this post isn't exclusively about Inuyaship, it's about all the innocent people who have been called out unjustly. Thanks to Reapershusband and his "callout" posts, Inuyaship was almost pushed to the brink of sui////cide.

Reapershusband also called out a friend of Inuyaships,someone known by @/selfshippinglove. Reapershusband has not once, ever interacted with them. He didn't even know them, nor any of their views on anything. Yet decided to add them to his "callout" post.

Now look, f/os someone has for years, grown up with, they aren't able to grow up. They stay the same age forever, they can only grow as old as their creator allows. Why is wanting those characters to grow alongside up, wrong? Aging up a character, there's a difference between wanting to grow up with them and aging them up to sexualize them.

The term, Pedo///phile isn't just a word you can just throw around like nothing. Its serious, and shouldn't be taken lightly.

not only has Reapershusband done all this, he has been stalking Inuyaship's blog after being blocked months ago, all the way back to May, when Inuyaship cut off their friendship. Listen here,the fact that he took Inuyaship's trauma and exposed his traumas without consent and had the audacity to call him a pedo///phile when inuyaship is a csa victim.

what I'm saying here is that, it's wrong to falsely accuse someone and to compare them to the horrible people who have abused them!! Inuyaship does not deserve any of the treatment that's happened to him thanks to Reapershusband!! So don't be sending him hate!!!

Biding Time

The frigid air was burning his nostrils and his lungs as he jogged a steady pace getting closer to his apartment complex on the four inches of snow that fell overnight. It was early Christmas morning where everyone was slowly waking up, sitting beside a tree, and unwrapping Christmas gifts. Everyone except for Fox Mulder, who was doing his best not to bug Scully even if it was just to wish her a Merry Christmas. They’ve already exchanged season’s greetings.

“Merry Christmas, Mulder. I’ll see you next year. Thanks for driving,” she’d said to him smiling when the stewardess announced it was time to board the plane. They lingered a little longer by the departure gate away from the line, until she gave him a hug and a reassuring hand squeeze while he gave her a quick peck on the top of her head. He watched as the back of her redhead disappeared among the crowd when she entered the gate. He watched as the airport ground crewmembers navigate the plane for take-off. He watched as the plane took off the runway.

He’d been thinking about her a lot these last five days...weeks, months, years if he were sincere. He wondered if Scully went caroling with her family whenever he saw a group of carolers singing Christmas carols on his street. Probably not, he thought with a smile, recalling the night in the forest with his maimed shoulder and Mothmen. Scully was right; their trip to the forest wasn’t so bad. He wondered if she enjoyed spending time in sunny San Diego with her asshole brother Bill and sister-in-law Tara, was it? Were Bill and Maggie conspiring to introduce Scully to a nice Catholic man? If she would agree to a relationship long-distance...if, if, if...

He zipped down his half-zip pullover as he entered his apartment complex, the warm air instantly thawing his frozen face. He took the elevator and reached his floor. Just as he was inserting his key into his front door, he heard his landline phone ringing inside his apartment. It better not be a spoof phone call again, he thought to himself. He quickly entered his place and ran straight to the phone.

“Hello?” he greeted, not sure who would call him on Christmas day. He didn’t recognize the number on caller ID.

“Mulder?” Scully’s voice sounded shaky, unsure. His brief elation instantly turned to worry.

“Scully? What’s wrong?”

“I need you to fly out to San Diego right away, Mulder. It regards a little girl named Emily Sims who’s recently orphaned.” Mulder took off his wool hat and ran his fingers through his hair in confusion.

“I don’t understand, Scully. A little orphan girl?”

“She’s my flesh and blood, Mulder. I have a daughter.” Merry fucking Christmas. His mind was going a mile-a-minute as he tried his best to pay attention to what Scully was saying to him. Something about a mysterious phone call, adoptive parents murdered, and Emily being extremely ill. Scully's abduction, her harvested ova, the chip, cancer...and now this?

“Alright, Scully. I’ll take the next flight out.” He was going to see Scully over the holiday break, but for all the wrong reasons.

I fell in love with literature when I was 11 years old.

An Ailurophile

"ailuro" means cat and "phile" means lover. When the topic is all about my interests, I know I have to add my love for cats. My adoration for cats is at an infinite level, just looking at them makes me happier than materialistic things. One of the happiest days of my life was when I finally got my first cat.

A Gifted Kid

People I grew up with would always mention how I was good at almost everything (even though I thought they were just exaggerating things.) But it satisfied my ego how they gave me that title.

I am a dancer. I have participated in many dance contests and won most of it. I can sing well. I can play instruments.

I can write poetries, stories, and songs. I can paint. I can cook very well. I have a strong leadership. I am imaginative. I am a fast learner, and I am quite competitive as well. These are just some the talents and skills that I have.

And Most of All, I Am a Big Sister

When I was little I used to think how unfortunate I was to be a big sister because of high expectations and big responsibilities that I wasn't sure I can take. But now I am so glad to say that I am a proud big sister.

I have two younger sisters, the older one is 15 years old and the youngest is 10 years old. We grew up with our parents being so busy that I had to take care of them in such a young age. I learned to make their favorite dish and I am also their teacher. Looking at how far I have come, I am extremely grateful for them.

Hi! I've seen that you really like k-pop, I've been trying to get into k-pop but I don't know where to start. What was your first k-pop song? Or your favourite groups?

Hi Nonny! I’d love to help you out in your k-pop journey, there is a lot of content out there so it can be intimidating to get started.

I’ll combine your questions to give you some solid recommendations - my first songs that I heard from some of my favourite groups, AND I’ll throw in my current fave songs from those groups so you can check them out!

My very first k-pop song that I heard was Sad Tango by Bi Rain; I was in primary school (middle school) and teaching myself Japanese, so I went on this anime site to find some Japanese bands that I could listen to, and the Japanese version of Sad Tango was listed there.

I really liked it and became obsessed with Bi Rain, but as I was young, my friends peer pressured me into stop listening to him and “Weird” stuff and instead I went back to listening to the Jonas Brothers and Nickleback bc I didn’t want my friends to stop liking me.

It wasn’t until I was in yr10 of highschool did I re-immerse myself into k-pop. I was in the library and a girl I’d just met in math class the day before was listening to something on her laptop - she was watching an MV and I got curious and came over to ask her what it was.

She told me it was called Lucifer, but a k-pop group called SHINee. My instant reaction was “oh that’s so weird?” but I took the earphone she offered me and watched it with her. I loved it. She then showed me other MVs from SHINee, and I was hooked. With a friend who was also into it I felt more confident in my passion for k-pop, and she became my k-pop supplier haha

She and I still best friends to this day, though we now have many more k-pop friends (and friends we’ve converted to k-pop *evil laughter*) and we’ve gone to so many concerts together to meet some of our favourite groups.

Now that my personal history is over with, I’ll get to the recommendations!

I’ll go through my favourite groups, and the first songs I heard from them + my current favourite songs of theirs! I’ll go in alphabetical order to make things easier to navigate, and I’ll provide links to all songs listed

1. B1A4

My first B1A4 song was Beautiful Target, their debut song. My current favourite is not a title track but I love it, and it’s called Wonderful Tonight (unplugged remix) from their first album It B1A4. My favourite title track is 걸어 본다 (Tried to Walk) from Into the Wind.

B1A4 was my very first kpop concert, I went to see them in Sydney in 2014 - their first Australia concert - with my friend, literally the DAY after we graduated from highschool - while others went to the afterparty after our formal (prom), we went to the airport

2. B.A.P

The first BAP song I heard was, once again, their debut song Warrior, back when we called them Blonde Asian People bc at the time they all had blonde hair haha

My all-time fave BAP song is One Shot, but there are SO many others that could hold that title too - like 1004 Angel, Wake Me Up, Save Me, Honeymoon, Hands Up, Skydive, Young Wild & Free - there’s so many. I really recommend BAP for beginner kpoppers

3. Boyfriend

I was with Boyfriend since debut (no surprise there I’ve followed many since debut lmao) so my first song of theirs was their debut song Boyfriend. My ultimate favourite Boyfriend song is Janus

4. BTS

BTS is one of my all-time favourite groups, I’m so emotional about these boys I love them to death. My first song of theirs was their debut song No More Dream. I have a thousand favourite BTS songs, there’s so many that I adore, but if I really had to pick I’d say currently my favourite title track is Save Me, and my favourite non-title track is Best of Me, but there SO MANY others I could have picked, like Serendipity, Dope, Fire, Danger, Boy in Luv, Hip Hop Phile, Let me Know, DNA, Dimple, MIC Drop, We On, If I Ruled the World, War of Hormone, Blood Sweat and Tears - ALL OF THE SOLOS Begin, Lie, Stigma, First Love, Reflection, Awake, MAMA - Lost, Spring Day, 21st Century Girl, Wings, Cypher 4, Not Today, I Need U, Converse High, Young Forever, Run, Butterfly, Ma City, Baepsae, Autumn Leaves, TO NAME A FEW

5. B2ST

Beast is no longer called that, it’s called Highlight now since they lost a member and re-branded themselves, and tbh I haven’t listened to any of their stuff under Highlight (my bias was Hyunseung, the member who left) but I still love B2ST even if I don’t listen to them much anymore

My first B2ST song was, unsurprisingly, their debut song Bad Girl (when you watch the MV you have to remember this was 8 years ago, and kpop was…very different back then. Like Asian Eurovision. It was…bad)

My favourite song from B2ST is a non-title track called I Knew It, but my favourite title track is probably Fiction, it’s old but it’s good

6. CNBLUE

Again my first song of CNBlue was their debut I’m A Loner. CNBlue isn’t a dance group like most kpop groups, they’re an actual band so they play their own instruments.

My favourite CNBlue song is a toss up between the non-title tracks Lie (tho I prefer the Japanese version) and Sweet Holiday. My favourite title track is In My Head I think, but again that’s a Japanese release

7. EXO

Mama was EXO’s deubt song, and surprisingly this was actually not my first EXO song. I came a little late on the EXO train, I wasn’t following the hype of EXO pre-debut, so my first song was actually their second single History.

My absolute favourite EXO song is Miracles in December from their first Christmas album, and will always be my fave

8. FTIsland

FTIsland is another k-pop band, and my first song of theirs was Love Love Love, which isn’t their debut song Love Sick. My favourite FTIsland song is an old one called Hello Hello

9. Girl’s Day

My favourite girl group! I wasn’t into girl groups for a long time so I came into Girl’s Day quite late; my first song of theirs was Something, which is still my favourite Girls Day song, tied with Expect

10. Infinite

My first Infinite song was Paradise, which is from their first album but not their debut song. I’ve had a lot of favourite Infinite songs, like Before the Dawn, Last Romeo, Destiny and Bad, but I think my favourite currently is Back

11. MBLAQ

MBLAQ are an old favourite of mine. My first song wasn’t their debut song, it was a song called Stay (again, kpop was…very different back then) and it’s probably still one of my favourite MBLAQ songs, but my ultimate favourite I think is This Is War (its a great karaoke song)

12. Monsta X

I love Monsta X with all my heart, though I got into them a little later. My first song was Hero from their second extended play, and is still a fave. I have many favourite Monsta X songs, most of them non-title tracks, Ex Girl, Perfect Girl, Incomparable, Amen, Broken Heart and Miss You to name a few, but for title tracks I think my favourite is a tie between Beautiful and Shine Forever - I also adore the acoustic version of Beautiful

13. NU’EST

My first Nu’Est song was their debut song FACE. My favourite Nu’est song is probably Yeoboseyo, but I adore Not Over You and Good Bye Bye equally

14. Pentagon

My first Pentagon song was their debut Gorilla, and while my favourite used to be 감이 오지 it’s now Like This and Runaway

15. Seventeen

Seventeen is amazing; my first song of theirs was Shining Diamond, which is technically not their debut song Adore U because it’s not the tile-track, but it’s the first track on the album and I pre-ordered it before I listened to any of their material and Adore U was the second track is listened to so like idk point is I’ve been here since debut. Seventeen is made up of three sub-units that’s important, the vocal unit, the hip-hop unit, and the performance unit

I have a lot of fave Seventeen songs, including If I, Rock, 20, Say Yes and Adore U (vocal team ver.), and while Don’t Wanna Cry has been a long-standing fave, lately I’ve fallen back in love with three songs in particular; 13월의 춤 from the Performance Unit, Trauma from the Hip-Hop Unit, and Change Up from the Seventeen leaders, a new unit made up of the leaders of each sub-unit

16. SF9

I’ve been a fan of SF9 since their debut of Fanfare. I love this group and have so many favourites, like K.O, Easy Love, Jungle Game and Roar, but my favourite is O Sole Mio

17. SHINee

SHINee was the first kpop group I fell in love with, my first song of theirs was Lucifer. There are so many faves I could list from SHINee. Dazzling Girl, Juliette, Amigo, Hello, In my Room, Romantic, SHINee Girl, JoJo, Up & Down, Electric Heart, A-Yo, Ready or Not, Love Pain TO NAME A FEW

My forever-fave is Replay their debut song and Quasimodo (and yes, I don’t listen to new SHINee stuff, I haven’t listened to any new songs since the Sherlock album, oh except like the title track Everybody and Why So Serious. I’m an old-school SHINee fan I prefer their old music)

If you’re going to get into SHINee you should be aware that their main singer Jonghyun recently committed suicide, so there’s a lot of pain in the community right now. I personally have not been able to listen to a single SHINee song since he died. I burst into tears when I tried to play Replay, and I did listen to Crazy, Jonghyun’s single debut, twice since then but I cried half way through both times and had to skip the song.

18. Super Junior

MY ULTIMATE BIAS GROUP!

My first song from SuJu was No Other, but since then I have loved all their other releases. I’ve bought every CD they’ve ever produced and practically devoted most of my life to them, so you could say I’m a bit of an ELF expert XD

My absolute favourite songs will always be Neorago, Evanesce and A-Cha (my must karaoke songs) but there are so many others.

Super Junior also has many sub-units including; Super Junior M (Chinese unit) Super Junior T (trot music unit) Super Junior Happy (cute concept unit) Super Junior K.R.Y (the vocal line unit consisting of Kyuhyun, Ryeowook and Yesung) and Super Junior D&E (dynamic duo unit with Donghae and Eunhyuk)

Most of the members have their own solo careers too; Kyuhyun, Ryeowook and Yesung in particular, also SJM members Zhoumi and Henry. Heechul also has his own band with TRAX member Jungmo called M&D, they write their own lyrics and music, perform and film the mvs on their own - which is why they’re so weird xD Heechul’s a weirdo

MY CURRENT OBSESSION! I LOVE THESE BOYS SO MUCH ;O;

Stray Kids originally appeared an a survival reality show for JYP’s next boy group. There was lots of pain and tears during the elimination rounds, and I won’t spoil it for you if you want to watch it, but I’m so happy the ot9 got to debut together - plus Chan and Felix are Australian! and Felix’s Aussie accent is thicker than mine xD it sounds so bad

Since Stray Kids have only just debuted, as of like, freaking yesterday, they’ve only got a limited number of songs. But they’re all so good I HIGHLY recommend! Stray Kids released a pre-debut mixtape made up of the songs they wrote on their survival show, and yesterday they made their official debut with their second mixtape.

So because they’ve only got those two albums so far, I’m going to link the entire albums here, along with their performance videos of Young Wings, Grr, because honestly I can’t pick a favourite song from the two I love them both so much. Needless to say my first Stray Kids song was both their pre-debut title track Hellevator, and their official debut title track District 9 xD

21. UKISS

Ukiss debuted the same year as SHINee, so they were sort of overshadowed in their debut. My first UKISS song wasn’t their debut song, it was Man Man Ha Ni, which is most Kiss Me’s first song.

Ukiss have lost a lot of members over the years, and gained new ones in return. Mostly they’re active in Japan rather than Korea so they have a lot more Japanese releases than Korean ones, tho my favourite remains 0330, a Korean release.

Other of my faves include, Love On You, Mysterious Lady, She’s Mine, Quit Playing, Heartless, Tick Tack, Forbidden Love, DoraDora, Alone, Sweetie, Believe, Standing Still, Every Day, I Don’t Understand and Neverland

While I haven’t seen UKISS live, I did meet one of the members, my bias Kevin, at K-Con last year. He was the host and I got to meet him during my hi-touch event with UP10TION briefly - best day ever

Speaking of UP10TION...

22. UP10TION

Another group I highly recommend, all the members are such talented sweethearts. My first UP10TION song was their debut song So Dangerous and it’s still a solid fave of mine, as well Runner

Currently my fave song of theirs is tie between Going Crazy and their latest release Candyland in terms of title tracks, it used to be Catch Me! and Wild Love tho. Non-title tracks, I love Everyday, Be My Luck, Come With Me, and Holic

I saw UP10TION at K-Con last year - I told Sunyoul he was really cute and he got so shy it was adorable, but I digress

23. VIXX

We’re nearly there just bear with me haha

VIXX is life, VIXX is love. My first song of theirs was their debut song Super Hero, which was..fine, I mean I’m very glad they’re where they are now they’ve progressed so much.

My fave VIXX title song is probably Error, but I die for Fantasy, Hyde, The Closer, Shangri-La, and Chained Up too. For non-title tracks I adore Love Me Do, Eternity, Rock Ur Body, Six Feet Under and The Romance is Over.

24. Winner

Winner is the forgotten group of YG, who’s only interest lies in Big Bang let’s be real. Personally I prefer Winner, but that opinion seems to be controversial in the kpop fandom (Big Bang is overrated, there I said it). Winner is the product of a reality survival show, who won their debut that way over their competitors iKon who debuted later under the same label.

Anyway, my first Winner song was their debut song Empty, though my favourite remains Different. For title songs my favourite is a tie between Really Really and Fool. I love their first album the most so I can only rec my faves from that album, Don’t flirt, I’m Him, Love is a lie and Color Ring.

25. Day6

I know this is D but it’s down here bc they’re not on my playlist I was working from and I forgot to add them earlier.

Day6 is another band group, from JYP the company Stray Kids has just debuted from. They have consistently released a comeback every month for the last year so they work hard to get where they are and we need more fans for these sweethearts.

My favourite Day6 is also my first song, I Loved You, which isn’t their debut song but I got into them a little late. From them all their songs are stellar, but I recommend Free, How Can I Say, When You Love Someone, What Can I Do, Man in a movie, I Wait, I Smile, Out of my Mind, I Like You and First Time

ps most of the mvs tell the clearly obvious one-sided love story between Wonpil and Sungjin and no one can tell me different

I don’t interpret it exactly as you do. I honestly think David’s face journey in the hand-grabbing moment more or less goes:

So that sounds unsentimental or whatever, BUT what I see in this exchange, and the panel overall, is both that they are relaxed and comfortable with each other, and that they are enjoying the HECK out of that fact. This is the day after Paley, of course, and at Paley they were so amped up and seemed very excited to be together in a real dorky way, plus they had that intense moment about The Unnatural, and Gillian’s giggle-hysteria level was very high. This is like…the aftermath of that, where they’ve finished being like HELLO DOG HELLO DOG HELLO DOG HELLO DOG and now they just want to kind of lie on the rug near each other and chew gum. (flawless analogy) You get what I mean. Paley: !!!!! NYCC: let’s do this bro. And I get the feeling that they are having a really good TIME being all in sync and sassing the moderator and being giggly together and watching the audience watch them. Sometimes they seem to feel uncomfortable putting their “them” on display. At NYCC, they are just feeling themselves and their vibe and it’s beautiful.

I don’t so much see heart eyes when Gillian grabs David’s hand, but what I do see is David being comfortable enough with the whole situation to be, like, “is my tv wife trying to torment me again for lulz? what else is new” as opposed to “I AM ANGRY THAT I HAVE TO BE HERE WHY CAN’T I JUST LIVE MY REAL LIFE WITH PEOPLE I LIKE UGH HOW DO I GET OUT OF THIS.” I see so much COMFORT and such easy camaraderie, and such inevitability in the fact that they are sitting there together as a team doing this thing they gotta do. The fact that she DOES make him uncomfortable by grabbing his hand and he does visibly (and I’m sure, tangibly) register that discomfort and she doesn’t give a fuck and keeps doing it, and he is totally fine with it and she never seems for one second concerned that it won’t be fine, and then they sit there and hold hands for five more minutes (??!?) without seeming to be particularly conscious of it (this could, of course, be a misperception) speaks volumes to me, way more than if I felt that he was being swoony or was excited or nervous to hold her hand (which, with David, would probably immediately translate in public to avoidance anyway). I don’t see swoony, but I do see Married As Fuck and Familiarity Born Of Years Of Physical Closeness and I Am Too Lazy To Get Out A Different Gum So Just Eat That Gum That Was Just In My Mouth Ugh There Is Nothing Wrong With It. A level of formality that you might expect is just not there.

Of course, this is also specific to the situation of David and Gillian, who have always had a weird relationship (from this outsider perspective, I mean), and since the early days have displayed weirdly intimate behaviors and weirdly distancing/formal behaviors at the same time in a big confusing (to me, probably not to them, but who knows) soup of weirdness. Affectionately grabbing a co-star’s hand is not that Intimate of a behavior for normal people, but for David and Gillian, it is, because in the past they would have been weird about it and in this case they’re not. The NYCC era shows OBVIOUS growth for them and the melting away of a lot of the discomfort they used to display.

To be more brief about it, I fricking love it when Gillian tells David to do something and he obediently does it and seems fine with it. Gillian not seeming to think twice about ordering David around and David not seeming to think twice about going along with whatever Gillian tells him to do fills this old-time Phile – who still remembers Gillian squirming uncomfortably at the idea of ever having to direct David, just for one example – with unending delight. So, yeah. I think it shows they love each other. Totally mcgoatally, anon. In a very David-and-Gillian way.

THIS is way too long. What else is new. I haven’t indulged in one of these in a while, so humor me, fandom. 😬

Hello, X-Philes, young ones and even younger ones!

We hope you heard the news already, we launched a new campaign called Naya Kismet. It was inspired by the dedicated work of Gillian & David and it wishes to give back and support two charities; @childreachinternational & Target Zero.

As a part of Naya Kismet, we we would like to introduce you to our old-style, Letter Project, the AneXdotes.

In 1993 two young actors met in a moist anteroom, someone allegedly hit on the other, then they ran lines together and 2 days later they were up in Vancouver shooting the Pilot episode of this so-called TV-series, @thexfilesfox. There was rain, their lips were literally frozen, they didn’t know what they were doing, what they were saying; ‘Who is Billy Miles anyway?'

They had no idea what is coming next. To be frank, no one knew what’s coming next.

Do you know what happened next?

A phenomenon was born. Special Agent Dana Scully and Special Agent Fox Mulder started to chase UFOS, the truth, and quite often each other, in dark allies while slowly and surely building one of the best relationship TV history has ever seen.

1993 was the year when the first X-Phile appeared and a new era was born; The word ‘shipping’ was introduced, Mulder & Scully became the first ‘OTP’, a new & loud ‘fandom’ appeared and along with them the first generation of ‘fanfiction’ writers surfaced. The X-files fandom exists for more than two decades now and it is as alive as it has ever been...

David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson are the heart of this fandom. Their devotion, love, and commitment to these characters are truly inspiring and their decision to come back for the 10th season brought us together again. I will be forever thankful for the revival and everything it has given us. I wouldn’t be here writing this if there is no Season 10 of The X-files. Our obsession with this show, our love for its characters and our dedication to Gillian and David, are the reasons we are in this fandom.

We have many things in common. But each of us has their own stories, their own reasons and their own experiences. This is what we would like to focus on, in this sub-project.

Both, Gillian & David are great advocates for many causes, they are activists who care about raising awareness on issues that matter, and they inspire us to do better. And we shall try. Naya Kismet has been launched for this exact reason. We are trying to make a difference with all of you.

We would like to thank Gillian & David for everything they have done in the last 24 years and we would like to ask you to join us! We would like to ask all the X-Philes out there that if they have a story to share with these two, amazing people please write them down on a paper and post it to us*. No matter how old you are, how long you’ve been a part of this fandom if you wish to share a story, please do so.

Write it down/draw it/paint it... what the show means to you, what these characters are given to you, how this TV-show changed your life. How these two actors changed your life. Let them know why are you thankful to them. Tell them who you’ve become, what you’ve discovered about yourself because of them, because of The X-files.

We are going to collect all these letters, organise them by age and create a book which will tell a story about our favourite duos: Mulder & Scully and Gillian & David. This will be given to them as a Birthday present in 2017.

This is just the beginning of a bigger project that we are planning, to celebrate David’s & Gillian’s Birthday and the 25th anniversary of The X-files.

This fandom was the first in many things involving TV-show history, let’s try to do that again. We have many ideas for the upcoming months, but if you have any submissions, suggestions (art for the shop, art for the book, program ideas, anything to auction for charity) please feel free to message us - @sunshinetoday & @becksndot5 directly - or just submit anything on the Naya Kismet website.

Hello Friends! I feel as if I haven’t really been giving back to the community as much I should be in these last few weeks, and that while my latest Sunday posts have been mildly amusing, nobody is really learning anything from them.

I shared some recommended reading on my Facebook page a week or so ago, and want to expand on that list here. Architecture is a wonderfully rich field with a plethora of resources. Justice League of America #3

Whatever the Greek word is for the cover of this comic book, I'm a that-phile.

I'm going to try this line at the Karaoke Bar next week!

The people of Kravia start brewing rebellion. It's a lot like making a melting pot except more violent and with less racial epithets. Also, the melting pot thing was actually pretty violent. It turned out a lot of people just wanted Eggs Benedict. Actually, the ingredients in Eggs Benedict are probably too melting potty itself! It just sounds so white! So, um, anyway, the rebels (two people, so far!) are sitting around a bar discussing how they're going to oust Lord Havok when Batman and the Justice League of America stroll in and are all, "Is this where the revolution is brewing?! We're here to advance our own interests in the guise of helping!" It's too bad Lord Havok doesn't have a World's Greatest Detective on The Extremists or he could have sussed out the rebellion himself. Batman is so smart to know where to find these political hooligans!

Lobo's kneepad looks like an eighth member peering through the door. "Hello there! Mr. Skully-Stars here! I'm British!"

Apparently Lobo tracked Bogna to her hidden den of rebellion. He makes sure to point it out before uninformed morons like me start giving Batman all the credit. I'm sorry, Mr. Lobo! I don't know what I was thinking! Why am I still giving credit to Batman? It's obvious you manipulated him into forming this team so you can have a nice relaxing vacation on Earth. And as a good guy, maybe you'll get to date Wonder Woman too! Dammit. Now I want a Lobo team up book in the style of The Brave and the Bold. But he only teams up with female heroes who have become sexually intrigued by him! I hope what I just typed in that last sentence doesn't mean he did something disgusting to their buttholes. By sexually intrigued, I just meant they were interested in finding out what he has to offer in the love bathroom. Hmm, that sounded even more like something disgusting just happened to somebody's butthole. I'm so turned on right now! You know what two words I can't stand? Capital and capitol. Stop purposefully trying to be confusing⁴! The rebellion's only request of the Justice League of America is to overthrow Havok and The Extremists. After that, they'll take care of the rest. I thought Bogna was going to be way too proud to ask the Justice League of America to do practically everything! The nerve! While the rebellion foments, Lord Havok visits the neighboring countries to tell him all about his open palm slash fist metaphor. One of the countries he visits is Zandia and he's all, "This place sucks in this timeline. Get it together, Rebirth!" I don't recognize any of the other countries. That means they're probably real! Remember how I just figured out last issue that The Extremists were parodies of Marvel heroes? I just remembered it myself! And that also means that the cover is even more exciting than I first thought! It's a rematch between Lobo and Wolverine (albeit a lousy parody Wolverine but I'm honoring the sentiment!). And this time the fight had better not take place off panel behind a bar! And also, Lobo had better win! What a stupid rip-off that last fight was. Nobody really believed Wolverine could beat Lobo. The vote was rigged! It was all politics! It was a popularity vote! If comic book fans had the ability to use logic and not just their nerd boners for certain characters, it would have been totally obvious to the Wolverine fans that the Lobo fans were being totally logical and scientific in voting for Lobo to win.

Gross. His world must stink. Also, how can you trace any scent when you can smell everything?! I'm surprised Tracer can speak or use a toilet since most of his brain must be used in sorting scents.

I hope Lobo wins the battle by farting directly into his face. The only fight I want to read about now is the battle between Lobo and Tracer. All those flexing muscles! Maybe a bit of clothing torn off in just the right spots to see a little inner buttock or maybe the slight wrinkling of a scrotum! Nipples hard and quivering through the sweat of physical exertion! Their lips coming closer and closer as they threaten each other with outrageous tortures! Oh man. I'm so turned on right now! Killer Frost and The Atom battle Death Bat (who just killed her teammate Brute who had been sent to kill her for being weak. Ha ha. Who's weak now, et tu Brute? Did that sound intelligent?). It's the worst battle because Death Bat does that thing where a comic book villain knows more than they should know so that they can use it against the heroes. So she happens to know that none of the team really trusts Killer Frost and tries to use that to make Killer Frost doubt herself. Instead, Killer Frost is all, "I've changed! And you can change too! I mean, people seem to accept a hero with the name Killer Frost. Death Bat probably won't go over too bad either!" Black Canary fights Gorgon and judging by his tentacle hair, it's bound to be the sexiest fight of them all.

Hee hee. Eyes up. He's looking at her cleavage! Or, at the very least, I'm looking at her cleavage!

What's with female super heroes in cool boots refusing to lace them? Is that a form of martial arts I don't know about? Like drunken style? Tripping over your laces fu? The Ray battles Dreamslayer although it's not much of a battle. It's more of a therapy session. Ray is all, "Why aren't you being as mean and violent as the rest?" And Dreamslayer is all, "Because I'm afraid of the monster that I might become!" And The Ray is all, "You're gay, right?" And Dreamslayer is all, "Kiss me!" Okay, maybe that scene only happened in my Masturbationarium.

Wink, wink!

Batman, Vixen, and the Rebellion go after Lord Havok on the throne. When they break into the throne room to punch him in the face, he's all, "I've already won! I made diplomatic deals with the surrounding nations that were only based on about 95% threats! That means they'll stand behind me and not you! I mean...that's how it works, right? Wait. Did I miscalculate?" And he did miscalculate but not in the way he was thinking. He miscalculated by not killing Batman in the first issue and then by not keeping an eye on Batman ever since that moment and then by not realizing Batman had infiltrated his inner sanctum! Idiot. Batman steals Havok's shield off of his back so he can stand there looking like Captain America. You know, just in case Steve Orlando had to sell this script to Marvel! Oh, and Lobo's battle with Tracer lasted one panel where Lobo put out his cigar in Tracer's eye. That was almost as bad as the fight behind the bar and the hand reaching up for the cigar to indicate who won! Which could have been either Lobo or Wolverine, so it shows the scene was already written long before the votes were tallied! All it needed was the colorist to choose the correct palette! The Ranking! Obviously this is the best comic book DC is currently publishing. Obviously that is an objective assessment and not the rantings of a total Lobo fanboy. _________________________________ ¹As long as that person is white. ²I'm Eee! Tess Ate Chai Tea, dammit! Grandmaster Comic Book Reader! ³I'll let you come up with the metaphor because I don't want a bunch of offended people trying to ruin my life. I mean, I can think up some really offensive metaphors! So bad! They're in their right now, dancing around inside my mind doing the most horrible things to each other. So terrible! ⁴Of course, just like every other confusing thing in English, it only takes a brief overview to clear up the confusion forever. So people who don't know when to use who and whom are just being purposefully ignorant! And I know purposefully ignorant!
