a/n hi hey hello my first f1 related work (barely but whatever). still fairly new here so please (kindly, gently) correct me if im wrong about something or if ur up to it, be my tutor

THE KANGAROO(KIE) VS. THE WORLD

let’s start easy: she was born in 2000

joined the grid in 2022

her driving number is 50

why? i’ll tell u later

literally only has like... one or two (three at best) friends outside the grid

she’s the youngest daughter

her team isnt exactly specified cause im too lazy to organize... anythin

so despite it not being true, she always felt like she’s in her her siblings’ shadow

(man i told u, projecting)

she is multitalented

(cause she always need to one up who, she doesnt know)

she plays instruments

including the following: bass, drums (especially when she’s angry), electric guitar, saxophone, keytar

currently learning the violin

avid watcher of sitcoms

people describe her fashion sense as “probably whatever’s clean” but somehow always works

girl barely has a color palette shes just ooo cool okay i get

freezes every time she spots jenson button

the random facts is actually just talents that a normal human being probably couldnt

point is... shes just a box of surprises

You huffed as you jumped down from a concrete block covered with vines, your hands meeting the dirt. It looked like it was about to rain, and the sun was on its way to set, its rays muffled by thick storm clouds. 

  You straightened out of your crouch nimbly. You fixed your comfortable adventure clothes. 

  You inhaled and relished as your lungs filled with oxygen-rich forest air. Birds chirped, crickets rehearsed their symphonies, a small orchestra hid by foliage, and the breeze caressed your skin gently. 

  It was a beautiful evening, and you walked through the clearing calmly. 

  A sound caught your attention. No, it wasn't a bird. It wasn't a bug. Neither was it a party or an animal. The sound was more like a voice. You quirked your brow as you squinted. 

  You tried to follow the sound, wandering through the forest. 

  Your hands met with the bark of ancient trees as you sighed. No dice. But you were curious, you wanted to know who it was that was singing so pleasantly. For a few moments, you continued to wander, and after what seemed like too long, the voice came closer. It felt like you just needed one more turn and you'd meet the singer.

  If that was a forest siren singing, they had you in their grasp, and you'd be siren food. 

  The breeze rustled your hair as you stopped at a small clearing with warm, dim fairy lights hanging on trees. Your breath hitched and your eyes sparkled with wonder. It didn't seem like the lair of a vicious beast. More like the lair of a hipster or something. 

  You walked out from the trees. 

  "Hello?" You asked an empty clearing. 

  "Hey," A smooth baritone said as a person with a guitar appeared, floating mid-air ahead of you. You stepped back. 

  "Woah!" You gasped as you took in his form. He had midnight black hair, strange, unnatural eyes, desaturated light teal skin, and... long, sharp fangs sticking out from his smirking lips. A vampire. With a sick guitar that looked like an axe. It was a bright crimson. He strummed it leisurely. 

  "What do you want?" He asked with an exasperated sigh, tilting his head, his eyes half-lidded. He addressed you as though you were an annoying door-to-door salesman. You crossed your arms awkwardly and studied his guitar, and his long, clawed fingers. The sleeves of his wine flannel were hitched up over long inhuman forearms. 

  "I heard you singing and decided to check it out. Thought you were a siren," You laughed lightly as you shrugged. He raised a brow. 

  "Your voice is nice," You complimented quietly. His gaze softened and he floated lower. His black bangs fell over his face. 

  "Thanks," He said humbly, a slight pink tinge to his face. "Have I seen you before?" He pointed at you, his other hand holding the neck of his instrument. 

  You hummed. 

  "Could be. I've seen you around, though. Marshall, right?" You pursed your lips. The breeze blew gently, carrying the scent of the vampire's vague cologne. 

  "Yeah, Marshall Lee," He floated so that it looked like he was laying down, his pointed ears poking out, and he played a few chords. "I think I've seen you at Fionna's parties." 

  You nodded, kicking the glass under your feet. 

  "Yeah, I just go to stand around all awkward. But it's fun seeing people have fun, I guess?" You raised your hands. 

  "You're human, right?" He studied your ears. His tone had a mocking aftertaste. More clouds rolled in as the sun set nearly fully, shrouding the cool forest in shadow, but the fairy lights lit the clearing up pretty nicely. 

  "Yeah, and I take it you're a vampire." You sat down on a piece of an abandoned fridge, hands on your knees. 

  "Vampire King," He smirked as he floated near your face and then swerved back and up, crossing his legs leisurely. You leaned forward, your face heating up a bit. The guy was mad charming. A mad charming “bad boy”, which spelled trouble for you and your friends whose ears you'd talk off about him later. If what you had heard about him was true, he was one. The most egregious "incident" was the time he dyed everything Gumball owned green. Even Gumball himself. Famously, Gumball hates green.

  Marshall was then banned from the Candy Kingdom. He was banned from many places. Even Cracker Barrel. You'd also heard he was a classic rockstar, and you know what that means. Drink, smoke, snort ring a bell? 

  "Fancy title for such a punk." You raised your brow with a challenge. 

  "I'm a multifaceted individual. Maybe you'd know that if you were one too." His expression feigned solemnity. The upturned corners of his black lips and tone gave away his teasing. His ears lowered. 

  "Psh, you've just met me, essentially, and you're in the globdamn woods, who cares what you've got to say?" You smiled, putting your hands on your hips. 

  His nose crinkled, and black-sclera eyes with vertical pupils bored into you. He held a serious silence. Now this act was believably pissed. So believable you were getting worried, and your expression turned to badly concealed fear. 

  He burst out in a mischievous giggle,  throwing his head back. 

  "Good one." He smiled with a slight darkness. Man, was he one confusing sexuality-defying vamp. 

  Droplets of rain dropped on the trees above you. His ears tilted up to the sound, and for a split second, he looked like a confused cat. 

  "It's gonna rain soon. And by soon I mean two minutes ago." You frowned as cool air hit your skin, freezing you to your core. 

  Marshall huffed through pointy teeth.  His pierced ears drooped in annoyance. 

 "I'd love to see you soaked and all, but I can't get my guitar wet. Wanna go somewhere else, cream puff?" 

  "That's the first good idea you've had as of recently," You muttered. You blinked. "W- cream puff? Soaked?" You stuttered, your voice losing every shred of confidence. 

  "That is what I said. Well done!" He gave you a thumbs up. Your mouth opened a little, your expression as if you were about to sneeze. 

  "You gonna keep calling me that?" 

  The grass rustled, taps echoing off the foliage. 

  "What do you think?" 

  You sighed. 

  A drop of rain hit your arm. 

  "I think we should hurry."

  Marshall adjusted his guitar, floating to you and poking your back. You flinched. Son of a witch...

  "I like what you're saying. Rare occurrence, isn't it?" He bit his lip and gave you a side eye as you walked- floated- through the forest, leaves shielding you from rain. 

  "I wish I could punch you." You shook your head. 

  "Why don't you?" He coaxed, dodging raindrops. 

  "Your face is the only good thing about you." You shrugged. 

  "Aww, what about my sick guitar skills?" He played a chunk of a solo full of hammer-ons and gob knows what. You sure as hell weren't looking at his guitar at that moment. 

  "Hm. They're good, I'm just kidding."

  You stepped over a turtle. The rain was beating down substantially. It hit the leaves loudly. Taps could be heard all over. It felt peaceful. 

  "I don't know if I'm kidding. But I'm not kidding when I say you're the hottest person I've ever met in a forest," He purred, raising his brows suggestively. Awful. Criminal. Jail.

  And after that, you felt a little less peaceful. You crossed your arms as you shot him a sharp look. 

  "Are you always like this?"

  He smiled, flashing his sharp teeth. 

  "You bet."

I would, as always, not know what the heck I am doing but doing the best I can anyway XD (Ideally I'd have like cool magical powers or fighting abilities or maybe even knowledge of how to play an instrument, but uhhh I Don't Hope for Much).

Oh, hot villain arc birb would be very interesting to meet. Probably would feel a lot of emotions, mostly guilt and regret and sadness and not being able to somehow fix my au self. I do think it'd be really funny if I started tripping my evil villain AU self up because, like, she's me so we have the same thinking patterns and I could just easily like go back and help as best as I can? idk. Maybe too idealistic... but also you give me plot ideas. hmmm saving that for later

This would also be really funny because I'd have all the information to ingratiate myself into the friend group but they'd know nothing about me and I could like speedrun friendship exp so fast. I'd be like "well, here's your favorite brand of chocolate that is basically the only one you can eat" and they'd be like *gasp* "however did you know" and i'd laugh manically and be like "a little birb told me *giggles manically*"....they'd probably think I was stalking them. if it were people that I currently don't get along with....well then that just got 1000 times more awkward but interesting to see where the "refresh" on that relationship goes.

This is kind feels like what going to college feels like, ngl. I mean I still had access to family and like a couple people back home, but overall, this is just what it feels like going back to school for a couple months. Or when I move between states which I have a lot of experience with. So the answer to this would be: which au did I come from, and is this one a better environment for me. Could I reach back and pull out the people I cared about into this au with me or am I the only one who has multiversal travel? As much as I would hate for the old me to randomly disappear for the people I care about, if the other environment is healthier for me and my personal growth... I'm not scared of it yk?

well, I'd try. Or maybe I'd just make friends with my loved counterparts and my counterpart (so we don't have hot villain arc birb again).

Sexuality Headcanon: bi but primarily into women (like I am the first person to be annoyed when people On Line act like the one universal experience of bisexuality is abt being into all women and like three men bc that's blatantly untrue for lots of people but I do think it's true for edelgard) Gender Headcanon: she's not one of the fe3h characters whom I'm just fully incapable of not reading as trans like her story still works for me if she's a cis woman but I am very very compelled by the idea of her as a trans woman. something abt her determination to take back her autonomy & ownership over her own body hits as a trans narrative Imo A ship I have with said character: many of them, since she has many women who are very sapphicly obsessed with her and also her goth bestie hubert who in some ways is also a woman who is sapphicly obsessed with her since hubert is 1) obsessed with her and 2) a trans woman to me. special shout outs also to dorothea, the opera singer who fantasizes abt playing the role of edelgard in an opera based on edelgard's life, and monica, who has perfect photographic memory which she uses for remembering everything edelgard has ever said to her and everything edelgard has ever done and also who is meant to be doing what chore A BROTP I have with said character: hubert tbh. like I know I included him as a ship option and I do enjoy them kissing but also the thing is that they are each other's best (and for a while only) friend, and for a long time the only person they each trust, and he has shaped his entire life around being someone who can kill & die for her and this is all endlessly compelling to me A NOTP I have with said character: swings bat at hornet's nest. byleth tbh. so. okay. a thing I don't love abt fe3h more generally is how unearned some characters' trust/fixation/reliance/etc on byleth feels to me personally. there are some characters who care a lot abt byleth in ways that make sense (leonie, who has a connection with byleth's father, or linhardt, who likes studying people's weird magic situations and oh boy does byleth have a weird magic situation, for example). but there are other characters who get introduced as untrusting/independent/etc who then begin to make major life choices because of byleth in a way that I find unconvincing and unsatisfying. and for me, edelgard is one of these characters A random headcanon: I think she used to play a musical instrument like violin or piano with her siblings, and she wasn't ever especially good but it was a fun thing to do together. and she doesn't remember that anymore (have I told u abt this part of her whole deal? anyway she used to have a bunch of siblings and they died and she doesn't have many memories of her childhood anymore due to. the horrors) but sometimes she still like. gets a song they used to play stuck in her head and doesn't know why it makes her so sad General Opinion over said character: I just think she's neat! interesting character, lots of potential for tasty tragedy, so many fun relationships with other characters, cool design

I'm a female, she/her n asexual. My mbti is INTJ 5w6, I'm mostly introverted but I don't rlly have social anxiety or that stuff. I just get a lil bit lazy when talking to people :') Idk I prefer to avoid people who r too popular or have A LOT of friends. I rlly like science, math, art, astronomy, philosophy, and psychology :)) I also have some other random hobbies like playing musical instruments n doing some sports, but I don't enjoy it as much as researching random stuff hahahdhsh, im kind of a nerd

I'm a pretty calm n collected person and I'm not the typa person to overthink that much, which makes me a good mediator in my friend group I guess :') I hate drama and I'm usually the one to revolve petty conflicts in my friend group. If I had to pick between emotions n logic, I'd pick logic all the way, my friends say I'm a pretty logical person. I'm also curious, I like to think about random stuff sometimes

My love language is quality time, i feel like it's the most genuine love language!! i like spending time w my close friends and if i get a bf i probably will take him to a bunch of cool places, maybe to a museum or to go stargazing, or slow dancing while listening to calm music, maybe ill take him on late night walks too <3 i have a bunch of date ideas lololol

In the future I wanna have a job related to science, specifically abt researching the human body or the brain, or maybe even doing smthn related to space?? I have 2 job options in my mind at the moment

Of course it might be a bit obvious cause he’s known in the fandom for also loving astronomy but i think your personalities match so well! I think he also is very careful with who he spends his time with because he values his time and energy.

I think he’d love the relaxed dates like you, mostly away from people and mostly at night. I personally think he’d be pretty into art as well.

Craig’s also pretty selective of his friends and avoids the loud crowds. You guys would definitely be that couple that just hangs out together with like three other people and that’s it.

@sardonic-the-writer - insanely similar to lyss'- where do i even begin. i used to literally freak out to your amazing writing. again, v v surprised that they (absolutely cool, insanely talented sardonic) asked me (someone who used to reel over their work and inhale it like air) to be mutuals!!! aaa i remember when they first asked,,, i recently hit 100 nd was playing guitar when i saw them ask to be moots! i had to put my instrument down so i caan get up and jump w joy :)) but anywho very very talented! and accepting as well, i dunno how they were able to withstand me and lyss spamming them w scrunkbut /affectionate. also the whole reason i have like half of my mutuals :DD couldnt have done it w/o u man :)

it’s like hide and seek, but with his little sibling and his prized possession moving around 24/7 until he could grab them and snatch the item away.

Sometimes he’d bring home a cool object that he got from the black market for like a million yen, or more. And surprise surprise! you would steal and hide it, maybe even check it out and play with it! but whatever you know? it’s what little siblings do.

You had managed to steal a dangerous instrument from syobai, being oblivious to whatever the hell it was you knew it was important so you hid it and messed around with it. But he HAD to find that thing.

No matter how annoying you may be and how many times you hidden his stuff only for him to find it a week..month whatever later, he hated the thought of his own little sibling getting hurt.

You were the only person he actually called family and he needed to snatch that thing from you, he looked up and down, side to side, diagonal, vertically, horizontally… he couldn’t find it! he even showed a little worrisome in his expression when trying to pry where the hiding was from you.

I'm a very passionate and caring person! Like, I will absolutely destroy anyone who hurts someone I care about. It also means that I, myself, am very supportive. And I'm not that big or strong!

Altho, I typically hate confrontation so like, the only way I'm getting into a fight is if it's a fight for someone I care about or if it's a fight for my life.

Other than my general protectiveness, I like to cuddle, and browse the web. I watch a lot of youtube, I will randomly pull out my computer to fact-check stuff, and I might be obsessed with disaster movies.

I have tons of interest that range from playing instruments to dancing to writing and to drawing, i love lots of different things that can let me express myself!

I'm a dork and I'm super forgetful. I am a very logical person and I think in terms of possibilities. The word I use the most is "maybe". I find it hard to process my own emotions altho I pick up other people's general personality very easily. I think because I have so much trouble sorting through my own emotions, I take a little time to get used to kisses and "I love u's". By this, I mean, it feels wrong to do these things personally, for maybe a month or usually a bit longer before I get used to it and it starts to feel natural. One thing I can never do or get used to is eat or drink anything that has come into contact with someone else's mouth. It seems so disgusting to me and this goes for everyone. From any partner I've ever had, to my mom. Just. No thank you.

on my shelf: soundtrack to MA year 1 - summer

That was the most stressful semester of my life, which is saying something since it was my 10th uni semester. It was all still online which has its benefits, sure (no commute! sleeping in! not having to get dressed properly!), but even an introvert like me likes to be around people sometimes. It really feels like everyone, including the lecturers, has kind of lost it at this point. That's the only explanation I can find for the unusual amount of work thrown at us. Okay now that that's out of the way, let's get to the ~music~

BTS: "Butter" and "Permission to Dance" (2021)

Summery goodness from BTS following last year's Dynamite that's just fun to listen to, to figure out the pop culture references to, and to cheer on as they make the Hot 100 their playing ground (thanks in big part to very dedicated US/PR Armys). "Butter" features very cool, more minimal verses with an explosive, big chorus. It's filled with calm confidence. Learning the previous English song "Dynamite's" lyrics was pretty difficult, but "Butter" was even harder, even for native speakers, which just makes BTS' efforts all the more impressive. I immediately loved "Permission To Dance" and its very musical-theater, feel-good vibe. It just makes you feel happy! Here I found the rap line's vocal chops especially impressive - I love how BTS is constantly trying out new things in all their music, including the English singles.

ITZY: GUESS WHO (2021)

This EP is a lot like ITZY's usual output in its bold confidence and electronic sound, but it feels more refined and even a bit more experimental this time around. Listening from top to bottom, there's a good flow where the songs don't blend into each other and can stand alone, but don't rub against each other either. My favourite is closer "Tennis (0:0)", their calmest song yet. The instrumentation is more traditional (featuring some acoustic guitars) and very minimal, so the focus is on the group's vocals. The melodies would work in a louder song too, which just makes this stripped back sound stand out even more.

TOMORROW X TOGETHER: The Chaos Chapter: Freeze (2021)

Following on from the album series The Dream Chapter and the summer album minisode 1: Blue Hour, TXT introduced a new chapter, that focuses on the confusing and conflicting feelings of growing up and showcases yet more diversity in their sound. This album features a lot more input musically and lyrically from the members, like Huening Kai produced rock juggernaut "Dear Sputnik", and feels all the more richer for it. In general, the album moves between clear rock ("Dear Sputnik", "0x1=Lovesong"), pop ("No Rules", "Magic"), hip-hop and electronic influences, sometimes also mixing them to create interesting fusions, like on "Freeze". The one thing that stays consistent throughout is the angst, in all its various forms. It doesn't ever go full on overboard emo with it though, making it more palatable. My top 3 songs are "No Rules", "0x1=Lovesong" and "Ice Cream". They recently released a repackaged album including two new songs: "LO$ER=LO♥ER" (emo rock that made me very happy to hear since it's executed so well) and "MOA Diary (Dubaddu Wari Wari)", a super cute fan song.

WENDY: Like Water (2021)

Red Velvet member and vocal powerhouse Wendy released her first solo EP, after having recovered from a serious injury she suffered at the end of 2019. The songs suit her voice perfectly. There's a lot of ballads, but she makes them sound effortless, even in the highest notes, where her voice stays rich and full. She's able to convey the emotions needed sincerely, without being overbearing, a lot of it owed to the lyrical topics centering around themes like being there for each other, instead of very heavy, sad ones. In the musically lighter songs, like "Why Can't You Love Me", she's skilled in her playfulness, with an audible smile. Wendy's love for music and singing is tangible and makes the EP feel very comforting to listen to.

IU: A Flower Bookmark, Pt. 2 (2017)

I'd been wanting to go through IU's older music since her new album Lilac was released this year, and doing so, I got stuck on this EP of reworked covers. I don't know any of the original songs, but if I hadn't known they were covers I would've never guessed it just by listening. IU has a knack for making things distinctly her own - no matter what style or genre she's trying out, she'll fit into it perfectly while still being recognisable. This EP features a range of different styles, from different decades and artists, but it all flows together, like they were always meant to be here. My favourites are "Autumn Morning" (featuring an acapella intro), "Last Night Story" (reminds me a lot of late 80s German rock, like the song "Westerland" by Die Ärzte, but more fun), and the pretty and calming "Everyday With You".

LOONA: [&] (2021)

Loona have become one of my favourite groups, even more so as I've been getting to know their pre-debut solo and sub-unit songs. So I was very happy when they returned this year with all 12 members for the first time since 2019. Lead single "PTT (Paint The Town)" is similar in sentiment (and somewhat in sound too) to their 2020 lead singles with its fierceness. It gives space to welcome Haseul back too, even presenting her as a risen phoenix in the music video. At first I felt like the song "WOW" would've been better as lead single but then I couldn't get "PTT" out of my head for days every time I listened to it, so I had to admit it was the right choice. [&] feels like a mixture between what a lot of fans call "typical Loona" and the direction they went in on previous EP 12:00, especially on city-pop leaning closer "U R". My favourites are the bouncier "WOW" and "Be Honest", as well as "U R".

-> a chill, K-R&B summer track featuring Ji Jin Seok's beautiful, calm voice

Epik High: "Rain Song" (2021)

-> perfect for rainy days. walks the line between sad and okay perfectly.

-> fun, upbeat song (actually a reworked cover!) that showcases Red Velvet member Joy's vocal colour perfectly. the album (also reworked covers) is lovely too, but I didn't listen to the full thing that much.

Hello! I'd like to request a musician reader headcanon with Van Gogh :0 I'm 15 and I use she/her pronouns. I unfortunately don't know my personality type fidnidjs sorry but to describe myself as best as possible, I'd say I'm a pretty quite kid who hates socializing, but once you actually get to know me I could be really funny and caring. I'm not the best at playing the violin, despite literally owning one for about 5 years, but I still try. I also own a ukulele and keyboard that I occasionally like to play some songs on (but never actually learn how to play the entirety of) I've also started to paint my nails more often (usually black) so do as you will with that information. As of right now, I'm the most comfortable identifying with Asexuality and I would like to keep this platonic :) (Also I adore your writing ok by love u)

Van Gogh With a Musician Reader 

Van Gogh would definitely try to bond with this reader through their mutual passion for the arts!! Van Gogh likes that she’s quiet and laid back, and he likes to talk about music with her sometimes and occasionally show her his art. He’s pretty shy at first, so the friendship is kind of hard to start because she’s shy too, but eventually they get more comfortable with each other once they realise how much they have in common. 

After Van Gogh shows her a little bit of his art, she decides to show him some of her music in return. She’s pretty self-conscious at first because she doesn’t really know how to play the violin, but Van Gogh is still encouraging and doesn’t judge her at all. He understands that instruments are hard, so he just quietly lets her demonstrate some of her skills and tells her what a good job she does and admires her bravery for showing him something new.

Van Gogh notices that her nails are painted and asks if she’d paint his for him too. He thinks it’s a cool look and he’s glad that it’s in right now. He’s not usually one to keep up with the trends, but it’s finally becoming more socially acceptable for boys people to wear nail polish without being deemed as less masculine, or gay. He also thinks it’s fun that he’s matching with his newest friend. Van Gogh doesn’t have that many friends (by choice), so it feels extra special when he has something to mark their friendship. 

After a while, Van Gogh asks her to teach him a song on the ukulele. He’s always looking for new art forms to try, and he thinks it’s sweet to learn something new from someone important to him. He has never played ukulele before, but he learns quickly and ends up having a lot of fun! 

Van Gogh is really shy at first, but he gets comfortable with her quickly. He finds that he has a lot in common with her, so that makes their conversation flow smoothly and they rarely feel awkward around each other. Van Gogh can be himself around her, and she becomes one of the most meaningful friends he’s ever had. They’re always excited to show each other new things that they’ve learned, art that they like, etc. They don’t have any mutual friends, but that’s okay because they’d rather hang out with each other alone than in a big group.
