Anthony Mezzasalma is a student at Willowbrook Academy, along with his twin sister Maria, and their older brother Bernardino. He's got a bit of a problem, in that he is very psychic and has been seeing a lot of really freaky manifestations wandering around the school lately. Maybe it's got something to do with that weird new kid, Mr. Morgenstern's daughter.

Or maybe it's that guy, Alastor, the one who's so creepy it's not fair that he's also really cute.

Alastor Castrie is perhaps the greatest enigma of all of the students at Willowbrook Academy, and that is really saying something. He's friendly and outgoing, but most of the student body are way too freaked out by his whole... vibe... to really give him a chance. He seems unbothered, however, happily working on his indie radio show with his partner-in-crime Vincent Foss.

There are other things he gets up to, however, that have certain individuals concerned.

Surely nothing bad will come of this.

i really was hating the shading on the first several portraits i did so i redid the coloring on all of them to flats and i feel a lot better now

also made alastor's colors match the outfit i designed for him and completely redid caelum/stolas' color scheme to be more in line with his human form in the show, it just looks better even with that insane level of pale

Lucian Morgenstern is the semi-estranged father of Charlie Magne. She's staying with him for a year while her mother has work concerns. He is the head instructor of Willowbrook Academy, a specialized boarding school with some very strange secrets and even stranger students and teachers...

I really enjoyed designing his outfit. Charlie definitely takes after him in terms of taste in footwear.

So here's a fullbody for Charlie for the Persona Project (or whatever we call it later idk). Can I just say that the proportions for Persona characters is RIDICULOUS and I am going to be diverting after this. It's WAY too rigid to allow for different body types, and the legs are so freaking long I feel like I'm losing my mind, and the eyes.

My god the eyes.

They're going on two different journies and never the twain shall meet.

Anyway the project is going well and I'm really excited to show y'all more stuff. Got a tag I'm gonna add to everything so they can be reached easily.

~ The Tower & The Emperor ~

It's our favorite pair of stupid dumb idiot boys in love! Only they're not in love in this story... yet.

I love how unconventional it is to have a Tower arcana as one of the more primary party members (let alone a party member AT ALL). But Blitzø really really does fit it really REALLY well. It was really fun to design these two very different yet very similar alt queer boys.

Caelum is just getting to function on his own for the first time so he's beginning to experiment with gothing up his makeup. And wearing makeup at all. He also knows more than anyone should about the mysteries surrounding Willowbrook Academy. But Blitz has a habit of learning things HE'S not supposed to know, whether he means to or not.

there was no doubt in either of our minds when @zaebeecee said Lucifer would be the Death Arcana. he was the one we were deadset on, even more than Charlie as the Fool haha

From now on, we're not going to reveal the Arcana of the characters, so it'll be a fun mystery to figure out, and see how they play into Charlie's story as it progresses.

~ proof of concept ~

so after lots of hours, so many layers i'm dreaming in digital art layers, just so much going back to fix things i missed, editing, forgetting the shadow layer on a single frame and a buncha other stuff, i've made my proof of concept for the Hellaverse Persona Project

this is part of the script of the opening scene, written by myself and @zaebeecee, the reason i can even consider embarking on something this completely unhinged

this is how the story is going to read, like a visual novel with fake RPG screenshot imagery as well as the typical visual novel stuff

what do y'all think? would you be interested in reading a full story like this?

(the portraits, sprites, etc. are NOT FINAL. I'm still tweaking the designs, and these are essentially just placeholders.)

After a couple of less-than-supportive girlfriends she's ready to abandon the idea of a relationship forever - at the ripe old age of 16.

She's willing to do anything - anything - to protect and support her family...

...even if it means putting her own safety at risk.

hey look another persona portrait

i HOPE this little guy isn't too hard to guess but it's in the tags anyway

he may be just so incredibly cute, but look at that face, he's saying something obnoxious and crude right now, you know he is. as inspiration for his human form, he's korean-american - i used naming conventions similar to a friend i went to school with cross-referenced with some helpful folks online - the name emmett coming from tramp clown pioneer emmett kelly. and the family name is adapted from the character gong-li from the korean film 'the king and the clown', a historical drama that takes place in the 15th century and was written as a play in 2000. if you wanna cry, check out the movie. it's from 2005.
