It’s become very clear to me that I’m extremely lost in The Tortured Poet’s Department which I absolutely expected and it’s no fucking wonder my two hyperfixations are colliding. Because after ugly crying through it the first few handful of times about my own life, I’m now just telegraphing that emotion onto a tv character, which is super healthy. 

Seriously though,  is anyone else imagining Crowley somehow becoming obsessed with this album  while he’s still trying to work through Aziraphale fucking off back to heaven?! Baby girl full on alternately sobbing and manically laughing  in the back of the Bentley while Taylor Swift makes him feel hella seen? Compiling his own playlist of the tracks that just strip him raw?

Which, in my mind, have got to be -

I feel like this is their entire relationship; Aziraphale keeps him at arm’s length because it’s fucking dangerous but Crowley gets destroyed everytime.  ‘He runs because he loves me’ - what a devastating thought. They both do, gang, and that’s so sad.

This one has gotta be for those times that he’s ready to fight back a little bit, and feels pissed about how much he tried to keep their shit together. Aziraphale thinks he gave up, he thinks Aziraphale gave up, and sometimes he thinks about fucking off from London too. But he won’t. Hopefully?

Baby needs a song about longing. 6,000 years of longing. And uncertainty about whatever they are.  This one screaaaams Crowley’s questions about the group of the two of them. It’s so painful. Also, you know, the whole ‘sin’ thing. They spent so much time never touching, but y’all know Crowley feels that guilt anyway. Oof. 

ALSO, you know Aziraphale would be wrecked by this one too. I feel like the worst part about the two of them is they're both suffering the same thing, in agonizingly similar ways. They're both carrying that horrible guilt. It's gutwrenching.

More sadness about Aziraphale’s departure. What a shit way to end things, what a cowardly path he took (in Crowley’s mind) after poor Crowley tried his absolute-fuckin’-best to put his heart on the line. Definitely 'the loss of my life.'

Ya know our boy has guilt over letting Aziraphale go where he absolutely could not follow, and I feel like he’d probably spend a bunch of time trying to change a ton of things in his life  just to avoid ‘the desertion of you’ but yooo, what cuts right to the core is ‘I love you the way that you were.’  All this poor demon wanted to hear, wants to hear.

Definitely another one for wallowing. Have I found myself screeching out ‘how did it end?!’ everytime it comes up? Yes. And I feel like a drunk Crowley would too. ‘It’s happening again’ would definitely hit home to him, how many times have they been through this?

At some point it’s likely he figures out all of this was definitely always going to happen, right? Little snake has always been at the whims of the inevitable (ineffable), and all he ever tried to do was make his own choices but he’s stuck in circumstances he absolutely cannot change. This one is all about pleading. Bargaining phase, you know. But ‘just someone who wants my company’ absolutely kills me. Somebody tell this demon it’ll be okay.

And so yeah I’m imagining the Thin Dark Duke is just playing ALL of those on repeat forever, until he finally gets to this place:

1. How did you find out about Ghost?

One evening in 2017 or 2018, I was listening to my Spotify Discovery playlist and Pinnacle to the Pit came on. I liked it immediately but didn’t initially go to check the band out. I was vaguely aware that they existed, but I wasn’t a ‘fan’ until a couple months ago I decided to give them a listen again after MOAC went viral. And the rest is history.

Nothing against Papa Primo, but Opus Eponymous just… is a little too heavy on the Scooby Doo music for me. But I also don’t dislike it. In the right moods, it hits. It’s just not my favorite.

IMPERA. The Aleister Crowley reference is really cool (yes, Crowley was a piece of shit human, but as an occultist, that callback to a huge name in occultism is appreciated and enjoyed.)

The Seven Inches of Satanic Panic EP art is honestly the most visually interesting cover art I’ve ever seen. The color and reworked logo are so fun. You almost wouldn’t know it’s satanic scooby doo music until… well… you see the goat.

14. Favorite MV?

I don’t really watch music videos much, but Square Hammer’s is really cool. That classic horror throwback!

15. Favorite lyric?

Authors note: Sorry for taking such a long, unannounced hiatus. Had alot of stuff happen irl that got in the way of writing. Gonna start working on requests after this is posted lmao. The plot is kinda cliche, but i had fun writing it anyways. This is alos loosely based on the song someday from the movie Zombies. my two sisters wont stop watching it and the song someday is hella good for a movie that first aired on the disney channel.

You were hopelessly optimistic in this new world you were brought to. People thought of you as strange, not only for being magicless, but for being sickenly hopeful about your place in Twisted wonderland. But despite how strange you were, you couldn’t help but capture the hearts of all those you encountered.

“Good morning” Kalim greeted, giving you a small wave as him and Jamil passed by you. “Morning” You replied with your own smile and wave “we still on for the tea party with the other dormheads after class?” you asked. He gave you an excited nod “of course! Even malleus is gonna come this time!” he replie, his smile only growing wider. You exchanged goodbyes, making your way to your separate classes. Your first class you had with your first two friends, Ace and Deuce. As you entered Trein’s classroom, you could hear them bickering over something random. “Morning you two” you greeted as you passed them by, making your way to your seat. They paused their bickering for a second to greet you in return, before shortly returning to their argument. You let out a soft chuckle as you sat in your seat. You wouldnt be too upset if Crowley never found you a way back to your world.

With a small basket of cookies you made, you started off towards the mirror hall. Waving at those who called out your name. “Heya, Little Shrimpy” Floyd called out, waving his hand high in the air, motioning you over. Beside him stood his twin, Jade. “Hello Prefect” Jade smiled as you approached. You chuckled “i thought i told you to call me [NAME], Jade” you replied. “My appologise” he replied. “Whatcha doing, shrimpy?” floyd asked, leaning down to your level, a toothy grin on his face. “Im heading to a tea party with the dormheads” you replied, a smile on your face as well. Floyd stood back up and sighed “Boring” he replied. You chuckled, pulling two cookies out of the basket. “I gotta go, but here” you said, handing each one of the cookies. “Have a good day” you continued, heading on your way once again. “Bye Shrimpy” Floyd called out after you, albeit a bit muffled from the cookie in his mouth. You let out a quiet laugh, shaking your head as you walked off.

About a week after the tea party, you were holding a water balloon fight at Ramshackle. Several students from across dorms ran around the spacious courtyard area, eaveryone was laughing and screaming and chasing eachother around. You sat on the back porch, taking a moment to calm a dizzy spell you had been feeling for the past few days, something you attributed to the summer heat. You chuckled to yourself as you watched Sebek get pelted in the face by Lilia. You grimaced slightly, your head suddenly feeling like it was about to implode. If you hadn’t already been sitting down, you would have more then likely collapsed. Once the headache subsided enough you could move once more, you stood up to make your way into your dorm, only to have your vision blur out and for you to faint. When you awoke, you were in the infirmary. Your vision was still heavily blurred, but you could hear the hushed whispers of the headmaster and the handful of people who stuck around in the infirmary with you.

“The high levels of magic they have encountered in this world has seemingly accumulated inside of their body” an unfamiliar voice explained “without magic of their own, its causing them to slowly wither away”. You hear several gasps, your vision still blurred. “Will they make it?” one of the people asked, their voice barely above a whisper”. It was silent for a moment before you heard the person respond “it is highly unlikely,but they would have the best chances in an environment that is magic free”. You knew what that meant, and you hated the thought, closing your eyes once again.

After your time in the infirmary, you were released back into the school, your vision having yet to return to normal. Grim had become sort of a guide to you, leading you by the hand wherever you had to go. “Henchman, your gonna be okay” grim said, sure of himself as you both sat at a table in the hall “after all, you have the great grim beside you. You chuckled, bringing your spoon up to your mouth. The truth was bitter, but you knew crowley was hunting for a way for you to return hom, Now more then ever.

The time of your return ceremony was in under an hour, and you couldn’t compose yourself. Warm tears had begun to stream down your face and you couldn’t stop them no matter how hard you tried. “ i dont wanna go” you muttered, furiously wiping at your face “I wanna stay”. You could hear the headmaster sigh before feeling his hand on your shoulder. “I understand how attached you got to this world and its inhabitants” he replied gently “but for the sake of your life, the student body would rather see you go home then watch you slowly perish”. You could feel his hand gently wipe away a few tears. You gave a small nod,sniffling as you did so. You let him guide you towards the mirror chamber. Despite your poor vision, you could see the very blurry outlines of your friends. One thing you were slightly happy about in this bitter moment was that you couldn’t see the crying faces of everyone around you. One by one, they each pulled you into a hug, whispering their goodbyes to you. When that was all over, crowley led you towards the big mirror in the center of the room. He spoke a few words in a language you didn’t recognize before saying the same things he did when you first arrived in their world. When it came time for you to maifest your home in your mind, you turned behind you , your vision clearing up. As the last second cleared, you gave a weak smile and whispered “i’ll be back one day”. After your last word spoken, you reached out to the mirror, feeling yourself being pulled through.

When you awoke, you were in a hospital bed, wrapped in bandages. “Oh [name]” you heard a woman whisper, causing you to turn your head slightly to the side. “Hi mama” you whispered, a grimace on your face “what happened?” you asked. You could see tears streaming down your face as she spoke. “An accident, sweetheart” she whispered “an accident”

it’s past midnight which means it is now officially ace week, so here is a kinda rant-y but ultimately positive post about Ace Stuff(tm) and TMA:

soooo if you’ve been following me for any length of time you probably know I’m ace, because I pretty much never shut up about it, lol. but really, being so vocal about my asexuality on tungle dot org is kind of a recent phenomenon, and it’s basically entirely thanks to tma and the fandom.

there are tons of ace people who have a similar story, I’m sure, so I’ll keep it short. I’ve been “out” as asexual and biromantic since senior year of high school, and I knew I was ace years before that. I say “out” because coming out is never fun and is exhausting and I basically didn’t tell anyone I went to college with about being ace, besides a couple romantic partners, and then only out of necessity. on tumblr, obviously I felt safer being out and a lot of people knew what ace meant so I didn’t have to explain myself. but of course in the background there was always The Discourse(tm) and yeah. if you’re ace you know how shitty that was and is.

but this isn’t a pity party! moving on!! soooo flash forward to summer 2019, I’m neck-deep in the good omens fandom, people are making hella content, and I’m like “hey some cool folks are headcanoning ya boys as asexual, I can get in on that.” I wrote a couple fics, shared a couple headcanons, it was chill. it was nice.

buuuut flash forward again to march of this year, and I’m hearing from my excellent buddy @kirkwallers​ that The Magnus Archives Is A Podcast, and not only is it good horror, the main character is canonically ace. and I’m like cool cool cool tight tight tight lemme just fuckin. download that real quick--

and y’all have heard this song before. jon is the good good ace rep, delicious, I’m vibing, we’re here for it. tres bon. BUT the thing that really gets me wanting to scream from the rooftops about being ace is the fandom. people are making fanart of jon being ace, fanfic of jon being ace, and most importantly they’re talking about their own ace experiences, both with and without relation to jon. it’s just a whole bunch of cool ace people who have gathered together and built this community within this fandom where we get to have a well-written, canon protagonist who is asexual.

so I get inspired and I write a few fics about jon being ace (and also usually martin as well because Why The Hell Not). and most of those fics involve cathartic experiences that I would want to have as an ace person, that I’ve never really been able to experience before. and some lovely people comment on those fics, and a lot of them are also ace, and a lot of them say things that make me cry. NOT necessarily because they’re saying nice things about my writing but because me writing about ace characters having experiences that I would like to also have gave them some catharsis too.

sometimes if I need a good happy cry I look through the comments on Spectrums in Common or On the Same Page and I’ll just lose it for a while. because the bottom line is that I’ve never really wanted to write about my own ace experiences before being a part of this fandom. sure, I’d headcanon crowley and aziraphale as ace and maybe reference it briefly in a fic, that’s fine. but I’ve never wanted to put my whole ass ace self on a plate before and serve it up in a safehouse fic like “this is me. this is how I feel. this is how I want my happy ending to go, where I can be loved AND happy AND asexual. where I don’t have to compromise. I’m writing about jon, but don’t get it twisted, this is a story about Me.” and other ace people read it and fucking. got it. and they were here for it. I’m getting fuckin misty-eyed right now thinking about it because fuck dude. fuck! that’s like! the best fucking shit in the world. and this fandom made that possible.

this post is getting long but I wanna say real quick that I’ve met some lovely amazing people (shout out to the Avatars of the Whore Discord, y’all know who you are) in this fandom, aces and allies alike, who have made the experience of not just Being Ace but Celebrating Being Ace genuinely a joy during the past few months.

aight my lads here we go, there’s going to be a few unpublished wips and other piece of dubious writing in here bc i doubt i have 20 stories but anyway, here we go (this is very long! press j to skip or just get that dash scrollin bc this might take a while :// ) in very rough chronological order going backwards, starting with the published work:

1. so i ran to the river (tma grifters au, unpublished yet but will be soon!): The sunlight feels different on a face fresh out of prison, and it feels even better to Jonathan Sims now that he’s truly home.

2. crowned by an overture bold and beyond (tma pretentious college au, based loosely on the secret history):  It was a cool, rainy day in late March when I first approached the Magnus Institute--one of those days that served as a reminder that the London spring, that fragile creature, was still all too vulnerable to the occasional strike from the claws of winter.

3. we should ride this wave to shore (tma chatfic where everything is beautiful and nothing hurts): Friday, 3:14 P.M. “archives research & statement envestigation” Timothy Stoker renamed the group “drinks drinks drinks” Timothy Stoker changed Sasha James’s nickname to saucy sash Timothy Stoker changed Martin Blackwood’s nickname to martini kart Timothy Stoker changed his nickname to stonked stonked: so how bout it lads saucy sash: oh god.

5. An Optimistic Tragedy (good omens orchestra au that i swear to god i’ll finish one day): Three years ago Eve shifted in her chair, her mind clearly on things other than Milhaud and the music in front of her.

The Spaces Between the Stars (the Beast of a dw fic that i can’t even begin to describe; a mate and i have been working on this since 2015 and it’s a sprawling mass of writing that encompasses Many google docs--what’s on ao3 atm is a very small percentage of it,,,,): The Doctor clutched the TARDIS railing as if somehow, it could take the pain away.

7. Carol of the Bells (a chrismas chatfic companion to aot! i’ve always been a sucker for a chatfic but oof looking back on this one my formatting style sure has changed): [Friday December 13, 1:31am] Anthony Crowley to Angelface: u up? ;)

8. An Exploration into The Nature of Human Beings, sub. Homo Sapiens: A Research Paper by Milton Jones (british comedy rpf. this is my oldest piece on ao3 and it shows, but there’s a special place in my heart for this dorky lil fic about an alien researcher making a place for himself in british comedy. fun fact! i actually added the final three sentences to this a couple of days ago, and will post it when i do my next fic update): <<I knew you’d be down here, as per usual. Do you never stop working?>>

and now for the stuff that i like but hasn’t yet/will never/one day, if i get my act together, might be posted to ao3... please ask me about these bc i love them, even though i’ll probably never post them :)

9. untitled mitchell spy comedy (a show that @monimolimnion​ and i want to pitch to the bbc in which david mitchell and victoria coren mitchell are married spies who work for MI5 and MI6 respectively, and most of britcom pops up in one place or another. it’s nothing more than a Lot of planning and a few snippets, but i love returning to this doc): [David is sitting at his desk, shaking his head at an open file.] David: They’re taking the piss. That’s what they’re doing, they’re taking the piss.

10. In the Demonic Style (a good omens au of @teashoesandhair’s glorious smooching contest piece, which is the first piece of fiction writing in the reblog chain. i’ve promised a chapter 2 to this, which i’m halfway through, and feel incredibly guilty for not finishing. still, my quarter-year’s resolution is to finish something old whenever i post something new, so maybe it’ll get done soon!): “It’s the end of the world” was not a good statement with which to start one’s morning in any circumstances, but the angel Bryndael was in the middle of cataloguing his newest shipment of tea samples when said statement reached his ears, and he didn’t much appreciate being disturbed.

11. magpie (good omens canon-mostly-compliant fic based around the song magpie by the unthanks/the magpie folk song/nursery rhyme): Wednesday (approximately 11 years before the end of the world) From a bird’s-eye view, St James’s Park was beautiful at this time of year.

12. untitled ficlet for tales of dwrwedd (a present for my writing buddy! the link is to her fic, i just wrote a bit of her two witcherverse ocs being soft as hell): The two women seated by the hearth didn't look old, either of them. But there was something about the pair--in their movements, or their mannerisms--that suggested an age far beyond what their unlined faces would suggest.

13: Tempo d’Attacco (an original bit of Light Crime a la midsomer murders, set in a university music department that is naturally a thinly-veiled copy of my own, hence why it will never ever be posted anywhere. i wrote this for my supervisor at the end of honours (her character is the sleuth) :P ) Dr Marisa Tan didn’t exactly start her morning well, on the day that everything seemed to upend itself.

patterns...... i’m not seeing that many, tbh? idk if i could call this in media res, but there’s certainly a good bit of plot starting without heaps of setup. 

my favourite? hmmmmmm i’d say my favourites would be crowned by an overture bold and beyond, and in the demonic style. i gotta say, going back to revisit a lot of my older writing has been nice! time and distance have been v kind :)

[DCA Event] - Six Queens Event Part 2

[Before The Showing]

First of all, Ella was trying so hard NOT to spoil Vil on the outfits she’s been making. It took at least three other students to temporarily hold her phone whenever she’s working on the costumes.

She feels like she’s betraying Vil for not telling him. Divus isn’t a problem though, since he likes surprises. 

She literally went and got a hella lot of rhinestones for the costumes, not to mention she tailored personally made glitter fabric! This girl went all out that Florence had to cast a sleep spell on her once or twice.

Elu was trying to get used to working with metal since they’ll be attaching remote controlled lights onto them for the set. She and Jinlong literally had the entire set finished by a week and a half. Those two are like worker bees, as they have been labeled by the students.

Jinlong once asked what the stage play was about to get a better grasp at the setting image. As soon as Rozeline explained, Jinlong said nothing but just looked determined and walked away. Elu on the other hand was shook, she doesn’t read on history much and if she does it’s usually the common knowledge historical figures. She had to be shaken out of her trance.

Elu: Wait, that king had six wives and he beheaded two, divorced two and.... what?! Is that even allowed!?

Jinlong: It was like that in the West, you get a pass at everything if you’re a guy...

Elu: *Processing the information*

Faustus made sure to assist Rozeline with the songs and of course, he thought she would go with something related to the renaissance era, but he was surprised to find out she’ll try a mix of genres into the musical.

Faustus: So, you want to start with something like a lute?

Rozeline: Forget the lute I need drums, electric guitars oh and rave music!

Faustus: ... We can work with that

[The Reveal of the Queens]

It was finally the day of the play, the building was packed and there were even camera crew from the broadcasting station to record it live for the viewers at home. Everyone wanted to see the play made by a prestigious academy.

That was when the dorm leaders could feel a form of familiarity to the ghosts possessing them. They could feel it synchronizing with their bodies, this was a sign that they were getting close to undoing the possession. They WILL give it their all, after all... these ladies need a happy ending, no?

The seats were filled and the stage was set, it was time for the show to begin. The smoke fills the stage as the six emerge from the dark to have the light shine on each.

[Ex-Wives]

Divorced. Beheaded. Died. Divorced. Beheaded. Survived.

When the lively music played and lights started to flash, it was like a spirit bomb went to the crowd. A lot of people didn’t expect the play to be like this and at first were not sure how to handle this scene. But as soon as the queens were introducing their history as the six wives of the king in a pop song everyone started to cheer and shout.

Riddle was startled with the loud music that he unconsciously held Trey for a solid five minutes. He started to relax when people started to get used to the pop concert. Trey was impressed at how different the musical was, he was expecting something like music fitting for the historical era with the old dresses and wigs but this was a new concept. Cater was the one with his phone out recording the amazing dance moves Vidya and Allison were pulling. Ace covered his mouth since he saw Allison looking like a rocker chick he nearly died holding back his laughter but then he started to dig the music and was even bobbing his head. Deuce, he’s never been to a musical and this was his first one. He was thinking that because it was a musical, this was what they were all like.

It was like the egg incident again, yes Deuce, they all sing but this was more of a concert with one backdrop. 

Kalim cheered so loud when he sees Vidya. Precious bean cheering for his (mom) friend. Jamil was digging the rocker look on Vidya since she’s only worn regal outfits befitting the princess image. This was a good look for her, he thinks.

Vil and Rook were marveling at the costumes, they SLAYED lemme tell you. Epel was expecting the play about queens to be boring but he was the one who started to head bang when the cheering got loud.

Azul nearly knocked his glasses off when he saw Cerule, she looked very promiscuous in the getup. He doesn’t know how to feel about this, he can feel his face heat up. Was this the same person who didn’t realize that he tricked her into giving pearls as a payment? Floyd is just like, “Did her legs get longer?��. And Jade without hesitation replied, “That’s just the booty shorts”.

Cerule: *Shows up in booty shorts and the short top with a high ponytail*

Azul: !!!

Malleus and Silver had the biggest shock of their lives when they saw Briar though, she looked so elegant yet alluring with that dress, and seeing her break her regal composure to rock out on the stage made her look like as if she’s another person. Sebek was complimenting on how the dress goes well with her personal look while Lilia... he’s the one headbanging until Silver had to stop him from making himself dizzy.

Malleus and Silver: *Sees Briar wearing a dress with a tight corset and a spiked headband*

Lilia: *Headbanging to the beat*

Jack was pondering for a while, Rozeline looked different, it was almost alien to him. The only thing in his mind was, “Was this how girls dressed back in the day?”. Precious puppy is clueless about this stuff. Ortho is sitting next to him and Ortho was twisting his hips and bouncing in his seat and he has already hacked into one of the cameras with the best view for his brother to stream. 

Crowley was on the front row and and he was screaming too until Divus held the collar of his shirt and nearly choked him to shush him. You can’t blame him, he wants to enjoy the musical about the QUEENS! He gives a smirk of approval when he sees the costumes. He doesn’t need to ponder who did them, he can recognize the style made by Ella. He is well aware of how SHINY she makes her clothes. 

When the introductory song ended, everyone cheered so loud, and you can even hear someone yelling, “QUEEEEN!”.

This was barely the first act, they are anticipating the rest of the show.

Most Popular Multi-Chapter (by kudos): I Have Hella Feelings For You (697 kudos) ahhh this one!! this one is actually my very first ever chaptered fic!! it’s a skam fic, and i have the most distinctive memory of me sititng in my dorm bed freshman year of college, furiously typing away at my laptop everyday for a week because i somehow managed to post a chapter every day until it was finished, which meant i was writing a new chapter everyday. like damn, i really peaked with that huh? lmao

- From Skam: If You Love Me, If You Hate Me so. about this one. it’s probably my favorite skam fic that i’ve written. but. it also is the utter bane of my existence bc this is the one and only fic i have ever written and posted that i haven’t fnished gskgjfdlfs. it’s going on soon to be a little over 2 years of sitting on my account as an unfinished wip, but i REFUSE to mark it as abandoned bc i really genuienly DO want to finish it, i just havent written for this fandom in a while and inspiration/motivation is tricky yknow? but anyways. this fic is my soccer au!! it was a gift for a secret santa exchange i believe to a dear friend of mine and i still feel awful that i never finished it but. one day!!

- From Love Simon/Simon vs.: Where I Like You Best i am actually obsessed with this one. is that weird to say about your own fic? i enjoy reading a good soulmate au, but writing them has always been SO daunting to me bc i never feel like my ideas are original enough or like things that havent been done a lot for that trope. but for this one!!! omg i found the BEST prompt for it and it fit these characters SO well and i wrote it and i ended up absolutely loving how it turned out, and i was so proud of myself for writing a pretty successful soulmate au.

- From Shameless: Wooden Floors, Walls, and Window Sills so this one was my second ever gallavich fic, and it’s probably my favorite because i think it’s the best characterization i got of them in all of my fics, and good characterization is one of the most important things to me when i write fic. 

- From IT: To What We Might Do is my favorite reddie fic i’ve written! i definitely projected onto richie a teeny tiny bit in it for some parts lmfao, but yeah idk i just love how this one turned out a whole lot, and i enjoyed how i ended it too (esp since endings can be very difficult for me lol). ((BUT also a special shoutout to my fic Imagine Me and You, I Do bc that one is just pure fluff and i adore the concept of someone being just so absolutely in love with someone doing something so incredibly simple and it just rocks their world)

- From Good Omens: I Want To Know What Love Is (did i use the most cheesy title ever? absolutely. do i love it? absolutely.) anyways this fic is one where crowley the demon experiences love and promptly thinks he’s dying. 

Fic you were nervous to post: ooh, i mean i’m always pretty anxious about any fic i post because i never know if it’s going to be recepted well or if people are going to like it or hate it or if anyone is even going to read it or repsond to it. especially if the fic is a gift for someone, because i just really want that person to like it yknow? but yeah idk if theres one in particular i was more nervous to post than any others... i guess maybe any smut fic? just bc i never know if the smut is even any good lol

How do you choose your titles?: eaaaaasy, i usually pick song lyrics lol, ocassionally i’ve used lines from a poem, and a few times i’ve gone with a pun, but mostly it’s song lyrics. i usually find a song with lyrics that i think will fit, or if there’s a particular song that vibes well with the fic or that i listened to repeatedly while writing the fic i’ll try to pick the best lyric from that one.

Do you outline?: yes and no lol. it honestly depends. sometimes i outline extensively, but other times i just sit in front of a doc and let whatever happens happen.

Complete: on my ao3 account i have 80 works completed (will be 81 once i finally finish that one single unfinished wip i have posted gahhh). but i know in my wips folder i have a at least one finished fic that i have not and probably will not post. there are also some other things in my wips folder that like technically could be conisdered finished too, but it’s not up to my posting standards so until i fix it so it is it’ll just sit there lol.

In-Progress: honestly there are too many to count lol. i have a shiiiiiit ton of wips (as yall will know if you saw that one ‘tell us about ALL your wips’ tag game post that was going around that i did lol).

Prompts?: so the thing about prompts is that i would LOVE to take them, but it’s very very tricky bc i’m a super specific kind of gal and if i don’t vibe with the prompt it’s very difficult for me to write anything for it. but then there’s also the fact that inspiration/motivation are fickle bitches and they come and go as they please and so taking prompts is hard bc i never know if the stars will align and all that jazz for me to be in the ~ right mood ~ to work on a prompt. this is the exact reason why i have SO MANY sitting in my inbox right now, and i feel so bad for just letting them sit there but ughhh brain function?? how?? lol

Upcoming work you’re most excited about: sooooo i don’t necessarily have any specific works in progress right now (i’ve been so busy lately that writing has been the last thing on my mind and so i haven’t touched anything in weeks) but. i guess if i can ever get my shit together and finish the primo fic i’m close to finishing i’m pretty excited to post that! or honestly if i can actually get myself to finish any of the tog wips i have i’d be suuuper excited to post any of those bc i have not yet posted any tog fics!!

10.  ( INSPIRATION FOR MUSE ) ——    SO somewhere in the middle of Vol 7 I was enjoying the concept of Fair Game, and it got me wondering what other kind of semblances might help make Qrow more comfortable around or at least fighting compatible with someone. I figured if there could be a foil for good fortune/bad fortune, there could be foils for aura amp/aura damp, and that could work. But then I started thinking about how aura damp would feel?? Probably not good.  Then Vol 7 went the way it did and I just wanted some happiness for Qrow. Especially since my muse for him kicked up first. I didn’t have any canon OTPs for him really, so I decided to make my OWN. Because that’s what we do. This was also around the time I graduated and finally could really dig into the rwby lore and the soundtrack. Between my original concepts, all the themes and lyrics from Vol 7 and the full soundtrack - the character was born. Decided to make her a wolf faunus, a) bc I love wolves, b) because of Qrow’s storytelling in the Faunus episode. Wouldn’t it be hella funny if he stumbles when talking about sexual biological compatibility and has the comment about a wolf cub’s teething period being dicey, because he’s talking about his own family? c) wow that hella works with this semblance idea. Came up with some bits of background that would help them understand each other, shared core values, and a few personality traits that I imagined would work well with Qrow - somewhere along the line the name Briar and the Sleeping Beauty allusion came through, and, again, meshed strangely well with the semblance idea. Also Briar Branwen hits my penchance for alliteration. Added in some more personal aesthetic and a chunk of what my 13 year old self wanted to be. lmao ANYWAY, jokes on me bc I made her for Qrow with Clover as a best friend, but here I am interacting with one (1) Clover who’s quickly ramping up to be husband material and 3-4 Qrows who all have best friend flags jkdfhjdhkjk. well at least she has my own qrow, and some people who are even indulging me for the polyship with them. :3c

On the whole

The movie was nice if you'd read the book beforehand. The first hour was steak, The second hour was Korean BBQ and the rest of the twenty minutes were minced beef. If you get what I mean. Weird analogy. It could have been much better. But it was really very nice in some places. Most places I'd say.

I didn't like how the pop songs ruined the mood of certain moments. I didn't like how you couldn't hear the conversation over the music playing. For example in the engagement party when Platt and Theo talked. Or in the diner scene.

Both Borises killed the accent thing. They tried their best. Cut them some slack.

Oakes deserves an Oscar for holding up this movie on his smol shoulders. I was shook at how a kid could act that well.

Popchik deserved more screen time. I'm still pissed they didn't add the Popchik Boris reunion. But then they couldn't make it chronological, what were we supposed to expect anyway.

Ansel Elgort y'all. Theo sure improved his handwriting lol. Ansel's writing is nice. He was actually good in this movie. Better than he was in The Fault In Our Stars. The internet is just mean. The critics too. I will never understand the hate.

All in all, it could have been a better adaptation but it didn't suck as bad as everyone made it out to be. John Clownery should be punished nonetheless. Special shout-out to Roger Deakins for making it work.

1. What is a rumor people tell about them?

Crow Douglas

She has quite a lot of rumors surrounding her. Most of them are insignificant, though there are a few that are pretty big. She ignores all of them anyways. The most known rumor is about her entering the NRC. People say that covered in someone’s blood she exited the coffin full of different body parts as if she was involved in a massacre or smth. In truth she was just covered in bruises and that’s it. The other pretty big one is that she might be somehow related to Crowley bc of the stupid reasons (both of them being the bird ppl and such, also their names are kinda similar but not at all, everyone is trying to make it work tho so for them it’s a solid theory). The insignificant ones mostly include her being in a relationship with someone bc she is a very bold girl and tends to hit on others. She is very open with everyone, so her behavior might mislead. 

Morgan Ashengrotto

Morgan loves rumors and the last gossip, but somehow students at NRC don’t gossip about him a lot... His actions are often overshadowed by Azul, so it makes him kinda mad. But at the same time it’s very benefiting. Morgan always goes straight to cheating and blackmailing students to seal a contract with him through dirty plays. Basically gives them only one option to accept the contract and even after that he can give them a good beating and claim they didn’t fulfill all of the conditions just because he can. No one pays too much attention, so it’s good for the business.

2. How long would they last in the zombie apocalypse?

Both of them are stubborn, physically fit and aggressive, so I think they’ll last pretty long. They both can kick butts, both have no mercy and no empathy, but Crow knows more about survival and the cruelty of fate, so she might stay alive longer than Morgan. Unlike in the school environment Crow is actually pretty vicious, because she was always by herself. Morgan is more of a softie, because he had everything he wanted from his birth.

3. If they’re about to get in a fight, what song plays in their head as their ‘hype song’?

Crow Douglas

There’s two moods for it: when she’s enjoying it and when she’s hella pissed. This one is just universal Crow song for me.

This one is ironic since the song itself is kinda against people with the mindset of Morgan’s, but he always paints himself on the side of justice. 

I don’t think these songs play in their heads per se (except the Queen one lmao), but they are their hype songs.

aka i gush about shiz i watched this year for waaaaaay too long lol... 

i watched a lot of stuff this yr (well... it felt like a lot? there’s a lot more i wanted to watch but i’m terrible at time management lol...) so let’ssss explore that in a ~numbered list~ lol

(spoilers - there’s a lot of gay shit here lol... what can i say, twentybiteen really pulled thru lol)

10 - Stranger Things (series 3) 

i know some people didn’t like this series, but i legit thought it was really good lol... i felt it had gone back to the style of the 1st series a lil more? (whereas series 2 had felt a lil disappointing in a way??) & i loved all the new characters introduced (robin is a personal fav, obv), & the whole splitting off into the lil groups was really effective in not just feel like it’s always the same group together, and it also allowed for some interesting character moments!

visually, stranger things always looks amazing! but i thought the whole summer/july 4th vibes really made it especially stunning tbh... as most things on this list, i’ve only seen it once, so i would like to rewatch it at some point (actually wanna do a full stranger things marathon tbh i was trying to explain what had happened in the show to my friend who stopped watching it early in series 1 & it was so difficult to remember exactly what had happened in it lool... ) 

there were obv things about it that i wasn’t as big on, like the whole evil russian-invincible guy was v cliche and kinda silly, & some of the actions scenes were a bit awkward(?) feeling... but i’m a sucker for any 80′s style media so those things just reminded me of the goonies or some shit lol

9 - Ghosts 

actually the funniest & cutest series ever tbh!!! as someone who grew up with horrible histories with the original cast, this just made me immensely happy to see the whole team together again! the humour style is v similar to horrible histories too btw, though i feel they let themselves have a lil more ‘dark humour’ than in that (since this is more a general audience, whereas hh was definitely more aimed at kids tbh... tho they still won a comedy award for it lol! actual legends lol anyway...)

only downside is that it’s only 1 series atm & it’s pretty short... but i know there’s gonna be a new series at some point so i’m v excited for that!! i feel there’s sooooo many places they can go with the concept (i.e. exploring how/when the other characters died (like kitty!!! i need to know her story lol i love her!), maybe introducing another character who can see ghosts?? like a medium/psychic or something/etc ...) but legit, please watch this if u haven’t!!! 

8 - Good Omens

this pretty much took over the internet this year lbr lol & tbh i’d def say it was worthy of the praise!! ineffable husbands aside, the main story is super engaging and enjoyable, with some really awesome side characters (& some of my fav character designs in anything ever tbh!!) but definitely the biggest draw was the ‘6000 years mutual pining’ romance which they did so well lol & it was something that was genuinely so lovely to watch tbh!! i also really loved the ending message of the show! i really hope to rewatch this next year when i think it’s gonna be aired on british tv at last????

downsides would be that the plot can be a bit confusing at times? but maybe that’s just me being dumb lol... but i imagine it’s a lot easier to understand if u’ve read the book lol?? i don’t have a problem w/ aziraphale & crowley not being “explicitly” gay or whatnot (i know i’ve seen some people annoyed with this?), since the whole idea of their relationship is so much larger than just them bonking or whatevs lol? (in general i think more media should have less focus on kissing/intimacy as an indication of love/romance... which is something i’ve already talked about lol)

oh, and the title sequence is INCREDIBLE lol i seriously loved it so much!!

7 - Killing Eve (series 2)

finally finished this the other day & it was so good!!! i really love the dark comedic tone of the show tbh & i def feel there was more of it in the 2nd series then the first! i also liked the further development of villanelle & eve’s relationship, which is obv the highlight of the show tbh! there was also a nice lot of twists tbh, though i’d say it was a lil less intense than the 1st series? (overall i’d say i prefer the 1st series, but the 2nd was a fab continuation... btw i also watched the 1st series this yr lol)

negative points are that the plot wasn’t quite as interesting as the 1st series... i think cos the focus of the murders was taken off of villanelle that we lost some of that drama from the 1st? i thought the ghost was gonna be a more integral part but she was kinda weirdly pushed aside once we learnt her identity? & the creepy son dude just annoyed me lol (but i suppose that was the point lol...)... so like yh there were lil things that didn’t engage me as much as the first, but overall i still really enjoyed it lol

this is def fulfilling the hannibal-shaped hole in my heart tbh... (another series i finished this yr...)

6 - Dark Blue Kiss the series

look, it’s no surprise this is on my list lol... i was hella hyped for this series when it was announced last yr, even though my expectations were VERY LOW after kiss me again the series (which, lbr, is a massive mess lol... like it’s My Mess tho)... but for real, this series really exceeded all my expectations... & then some! like i’m legit shook at how good it was ngl! especially morksun’s storyline, which was by far my fav in the show (as much as i’m petekao trash lol...) also, i was surprised by how genuinely pretty this show is! esp in comparison to kma (like i know i keep going on about the goddamn bruise makeup but it is so ugly in kma, but they really did a great job in dbk tbh!)

ok so there’s a lot of flaws lol... like... a lot (i’m already complained a lot so i won’t bore u with that rn lol...) but for real, the thing that i love the most about this is the discussions of coming out/homophobia/general young people struggles/etc etc which is so refreshing to see in these series! like i love that despite the cheesy tropes, it still knows when to be serious & genuine...

5 - He Is Coming To Me

another thai series, i believe this has the same director as dbk? (don’t hold me to that tho...)... legit one of the best, if not the best, thai series i’ve ever seen tbh! so adorable, so well acted, so funny & heartwarming like... legit it’s so good!! i was already excited about it from the trailer, but the way it really delivered on the emotionality, whilst keeping it lighthearted, was truly wonderful tbh! the main actors did a brill job i gotta say, and all the side characters were amazing too (there really wasn’t a character i didn’t like i’d say tbh? i need to rewatch tbh... there’s a lot i’ve forgotten since this came out p early in the year lol)... also, visually it’s so pretty!! i swear the cinematography in these thai series just keeps getting better & better & it def improves the watching experience tbh!

a down point would be that the first ep is a bit slow/awkward to get in to... & i think it def could put someone off? but i’d say to stick w/ it since it just keeps getting better & better! i’d actually say there isn’t really anything else i didn’t like about it ngl? it’s just so good guys... u really need to watch it!

4 - Russian Doll 

probs the only series on this list that i actually actively went to rewatch straight away lol (didn’t do a full rewatch btw)... it was SO good for real! i already loved the premise lol (it’s basically groundhog day, which is already such a great film, but they explored those ideas even more in this which i loveeeed) the leads are fantastic, and the story is generally so interesting!  plus the editing & song choices are really brill tbh... 

my one complaint would probs be that the series loses a lil momentum at certain points (esp later in the series), but it still keeps ur interest, and the ending is really well done too! i know there’s gonna be a 2nd series, so i’m really hoping it’ll be able to live up to this one, and also explore more of the characters/concepts/etc! i’m def hyped for it tbh!  

i feel like this series is simultaneously underrated and also v well known lol?? like i know everyone sees that ‘thursday! what a concept’ meme but i feel like i didn’t see as many people talk about it as much as other series this yr??? 

(for my top 3, i’d say i love them all equally/for different reasons... so the order they’re in is changeable lol)

3 - Gentleman Jack

one of the greatest bbc series of the year, maybe even the decade lol! actually a masterpiece of cinematography, incredible acting, gorgeous costumes, beautiful depictions of love and intimacy, hilarious characterisation & just generally a wonderful series!! like i can’t praise it enough! it’s literally everything i could ever want from a series, and more!!!!!!! like everytime i think about it i just feel like ‘!!!!!’ constantly lol... like... what did we do to deserve such a series for real?? something that i esp loved was that i vividly remember not that long ago w/ people complaining about the bbc for having minor lgbtq characters in things, so to have a actual main lesbian couple series be on prime time bbc telly is kinda mind blowing lol... like.. i know we’ve got a long way to go, but it does make me immensely proud!! 

i have no complaints lol... other than - needed to be longer (i think we’re getting a 2nd series right???? i hope so tbh!!)

2 - The Untamed 

look, i don’t make 15 piece series’ for nothing lol... this show really got to me ngl... like i knew it was gonna be amazing from seeing tonnes of mutuals start watching it & praising it.. .but ohhhhhhhh boy i wasn’t reading for the angst and heartbreak and just generally how invested i’d be in all the characters lol... like genuinely there’s so much to praise about this show! it may not be as super ‘polished’ as some of the other shows on this list, but it really has so much heart and hard work and dedication put into it which really shows in the final  product!

there’s obv issues with it, but i feel like it’s kinda unnecessary to go over them lol? there’s so much more of this series that has brought me genuine joy, the biggest being the fact they were still able to depict a really beautiful, loving and /romantic/ relationship despite the strict censor is truly incredible lol!! like w/ good omens, it just shows what you can do to depict love/romance without having to over-sexualise something...

i feel like i’m saying less for these top 3, but it’s just cos i’ve already gush to high heavens about how much i love them lol... 

1 - HIStory 3 - Trapped

you - *pretends to be shocked that this is my number 1*

yeh... no surprises that this is in my top 3 lol... what can i say that i haven’t already screamed about for months??? this series truly surpassed any expectations i could have had for a HIStory series... the story line is complex & pretty well done (it’s not perfect... but nothing is so....), the characters are wonderful & also brilliantly acted! i think the thing that i love the most is that the director wanted to create a series that wasn’t just a cheesy gay series (don’t get me wrong, i loVE cheesy gay series’ lol... ) but also would have a more interesting, well developed & more ‘mature’ story line (i think esp in comparison to other HIStory series’ which are usually school/uni based)... it’s also one of the few lgbtq series i’ve seen that isn’t just about ‘first loves’, and doesn’t place a big emphasis on a sexuality/identity crisis... it’s just so unabashedly a mystery-romance drama, which is just so refreshing to see! & i genuinely hope we can see more series like this, where gay characters don’t need to ‘prove’ themselves in order to be in a series or to be in relationships (which it often feels like, where writers need to explain /why/ characters are gay...)...  

phew... that’s a lot of text lol, just like w/ the untamed, i feel like i’ve already talked about the negative points of the series (plot holes, awkward moments, weird editing/sound choices, bad tropey plots), but the positives of this series seriously make it worthwhile, and i’m just so so SO happy this show exists lol...

all 3 of these series have a special place in my heart of inspiring lots of my own exploration of art, as well as writing, which has been really crucial in me understanding what i wanna do with my life (i know that sounds kinda weird, but at the start of the year i really didn’t know what i wanted... and i wasn’t even sure what i was good at lol... so thru these shows i was able to discover a lot more about my own style of working & thru all of them i was able to meet some wonderful new people on here which has made 2019 actually one of my most enjoyable years on tumblr! 

this has been an...... interesting year lol... but definitely these shows made it just a lil bit better!!!
