I've been thinking about mascot horror a lot lately, I've noticed recently they've been focusing less and less on the humans.
Sure things like FNAF and BATIM were never meant to be about the humans, but the human characters in those games always interested me more than any of the monsters.
Especially the antagonists, the 'man behind the slaughter' if you will. (Sorgy for saying that) They're the most interesting to me.
Joey Drew is a petty and prideful man, who hides behind a mask of dreams and Walt Disney-ness, William Afton was a mysterious maniac who figured out a way to escape death itself. Even more recent horror games have characters like these, Poppy Playtime has a man who was running an orphanage to hide the fact he was experimenting and killing them, masking horrific actions as a kind and selfless deed.
It makes me think, what if a game focused on those characters? Show off what drives someone to kill, to go so far to bloody your own hands, to see how the man now thinks of himself for taking innocent lives.
I haven't really seen many games put much thought into it, usually it's just seen as a neat feature to get youtubers to play your game and yes fandoms do write about these characters, but I don't think they put them to much justice either.
It'd be incredibly interesting to see someone's take on this, hell I'd make one myself if I coul-
Ah fuck.

The new BG3 Evil Endings are out, and Larian does an incredible job hammering home this character is evil now and the world is dark, but I would have loved a single lighthearted option. A ‘goofy evil’ option, for those of us who would love to see our favorite characters get some sweet revenge, but don’t want them to become homicidal maniacs.
There’s 5 variations you can choose for origin characters after they take control of the brain—what if just 1 of them resulted in a little less heartache and a lot more humor? You pick this option and suddenly it’s not death & mind control & terror. Instead:
Astarion becomes a sleazy Saul Goodman-esque lawyer, sues the entire Szarr estate using very questionable means, and rides around Faerun in the carriage equivalent of a gaudy Cadillac
Karlach takes over Avernus, makes it into a combo Build-A-Bear / Disney Themepark and forces Zariel and all the denizens of the hells to work there
Gale overthrows the Gods, turns them into mortals and tells them they’ll have to do 1000 years of community service on Toril before he’ll consider reinstating their powers. Mystra tries to refuse, and Gale replies, “I do think you’ll reconsider…” then steps aside to reveal Tara wielding a crossbow
You get the idea
#honestly this is the only way I would pick an evil ending#Because I am such a softie that I can’t even pick a slightly mean dialogue option#But goofy evil is 👍#baldurs gate 3#bg3#astarion#gale of waterdeep#karlach

Random Lore and Trivia from SONIC RIVALS 2 (2007)

Let's just jump into it
Tails has been training with Sonic to keep up and is faster now (2007-Present) then he was previously (1992-2006)
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/7c7ba12997713d7fed2c83d2c5faea40/e5a0954e4372b6bf-4c/s540x810/480efd72f8fbe8b783e9cdcf2812e65d214398b8.jpg)

Due to Eggman Nega in this game, Silver temporarily had to deal with ANOTHER Future on fire
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/b0975d13739b6c56f2aaada1b57ff51b/e5a0954e4372b6bf-e3/s540x810/09b7a86cf79bcc2267b533135248007c0b0dd57c.jpg)
luckily Silver & Espio, Shadow & Metal Sonic, Sonic, & Knuckles defeated the ifrit (somehow, this game's narrative progresses weirdly) preventing yet another timeline of Silver living in Hell
On the same topic, Silver & Espio form a close bond. This marks the second time that Silver and Purple character with yellow eyes saved the future from a fiery inferno. The first Being Silver & Blaze in 06 (which they don't remember btw for anyone behind on sonic)
This Silver & Espio dynamic actually briefly returned in the IDW Comics in one of Silver's few good moments (Not a huge fan of Soft Twink woobified Silver after playing Rivals & 06 since he's just annoying and looks strange but this scene was fun)
One more Silver thing, his primary character trait in 06 & the Rivals Duology (I also hear colors and Olympics ds but I haven't played those) is just how blunt he is towards everyone. Far more than Shadow and Sonic. This was also somewhat seen in 06 with his frustration with Amy but it's more prominent in Rivals. The duology has an issue of making everyone meaner than they should be but Rivals 2 tries to let their personalities shine above that (Sonic, Tails, & Espio are completely normal)
Here are some scenes that just felt right to me

Ok FINAL SILVER FR!! In the end of Silver & Espio's story, they leave Eggman Nega with his legs stuck under rumble in the evil ifrit portal. It is unknown how Eggman Nega ever escaped but he later appeared in a Japanese Sonic Channel comic about Blaze in 2016 so I guess he didn't die.
The Rivals games show that Metal Sonic in his non-overlord form, cannot speak but he is also alot less independent and now Metal Sonic has these weird clanky voice lines here and in the Olympics. I blame Dr. Eggman
Speaking of Eggman Nega, lemme explain him based on what I gathered from Rush, Rivals 1&2, Rush Adventure, and Sonic Channel
Read below
Eggman Nega is descendant of Eggman from sometime in the future. In Rush, he teams up with his ancestor (Dr. Eggman) to cause chaos for the Sol Dimension and Sonic's world (I like to call it the Chaos Dimension) Nega pretends to be an inhabitant of the Sol Dimension in Rush for unknown reasons. In Rivals he causes chaos in the standard past
Eggman Nega blames his failures on his Ancestor and by Rivals 2 just completely hates that idiot Eggman (I think he also had animosity towards him in Rivals 1, I forgor)
The main thing that separates Eggman Nega from Dr. Eggman in every game he's in except Sonic Rush, is that Dr. Ivo Eggman Robotnik wants to rule the world as a machine centric dictator (in the classic genesis games and Rush Adventure through colors, he wanted an evil themepark).
Meanwhile Eggman Nega only craves destruction and chaos and is much more unconventional. In Rivals he tries to turn the planet into a card. In Rush Adventure after his plans fail, he attemps to fire his "planet buster laser" to blow up the planet completely (not just the Shattered earth Eggman would later make in Unleashed) but is stopped by Marine, Super Sonic, & Burning Blaze, and in Rivals 2 he awakens the ancient Ifrit to burn everything (Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, and Rouge still think Eggman did that because they missed all the Nega reveals)
Eggman Nega also makes his own Metal Sonic here. "Metal Sonic Version 3.0" (pronounced 3 point zero, not 3 point oh)
Archie fans may notice that this guy's paint job was stolen verbatim by Shard in those comics
Finally, Sonic Rivals 2 showcases Espio communicating with Vector but not Charmy
On the topic of Espio, not counting comics the only media he's in without Metal Sonic is Sonic X & Shadow the Hedgehog.
All his other debuts are pretty metal centric. Chaotix, Fighters, Heroes, Rivals 2, Mobile Games. He hasn't been major since

Just realised the perfect fluff fic idea.
Sonic tells Silver to go to Little Planet at a specific date and place, like Starlight Speedway since its a themepark in the Good future, in Silver's time period. Silver goes there, not sure what to expect, and BOOM! TIME TRAVELLING SONIC! He found a near risk free way to hang out with Silver in the future, also themepark date~
At this rate I need to make an actual Sonilver folder in my WIP folder, because rn all those stories are still under Other Sonic WIPs instead, lol. I'm just getting too many cute fanfic ideas!🍀
As for Stardust Speedway, they can go into the ferris wheel! I looked up pictures of the Zone, and it seems to have those in the background. Very romantic :> Though Silver might require some explanations first as to how the hell Sonic managed to even get there, and how Little Planet works in the first place, haha. But after that, he's just happy to explore around together and look at the beautiful scene with Sonic at his side, all the while Sonic tells him cool adventures about his adventures on Little Planet and such. Definitely a very successful date! <3
#I hope to upload both Sonilver stories I'm working on soon-ish but I'm not yet happy with the quality#gotta let it cook!!!#silver the hedgehog#sonic the hedgehog#sonilver

After transshipping their luggage and stuff, Rubyn had to leave. Sai and Jack went to the bridge to start the engines to finally begin their journey - to rescue B.D and hunt down Tiny Can. First destination is Batuu (the real Batuu, not the themepark ^^'), where they are supposed to gather more information about B.D's whereabouts - hopefully.
Sai and Jack are on duty at the bridge - nothing could keep Jack from witnessing the beginning of their very own space travel as a bridge crew! Jack: "Can I say it? Please?!" Sai is nervous as hell and he has no idea what Jack is even talking about: "Say what?"

Jack jumped out of his seat: "Oh, I've wanted to say this forever! Get prepared!"

The tension became almost unbearable... Sai: "Say it already!" Jack: "Wait for it..."

... until he finally said it: "ENGAGE!"

Sai: "That's it?" Jack: "Exactly!"
And just like her name giver, the giant star turtle, Great A'Tuin II started to float through space - slowly and gently. Carrying the Boys and the Little Goats - and whatever else - with her.
Meanwhile in Tomarang, Arturo and Chánh are maintaining the Temple.

Okay, since I haven't seen many posts up yet about this, not that I blame anyone since others are probably at school and work rn, I want make a post summarizing what happened so far in the latest event on the JP server.
Disclaimers:
All of this info came from LuluBelle over on my Discord server, so all the credit for gathering this up goes to them.
Also, I don't know how to speak or read Japanese nor do I have the JP version of the app, making me unable to verify this. Take this all with a huge mountain of salt.
Like I said in my other post, I'm calling him Honest Fellow, since that sounds less awkward and I think it'll be localized to that anyway.
JP Event Spoilers Below
The arc starts with Honest Fellow and Giddel selling the themepark to some faceless NPCs. After some convincing, they enter the park. Honest Fellow evil laughs.
We cut to a basketball game between RSA and NRC. NRC lose yet again. NRC fight amongst themselves, and the teachers break it up.
After the game, Floyd, Ace, Yuu and Grim, wallowing in their frustration at NRC's loss to RSA, decided to go Craneport to get some snacks. There they find Jade and Jack on the way.Jack was there to get some new threads while Jade was there by sheer coincidence.
Kalim and Ortho arrive. They were in a bookstore, because Kalim was searching for books concerning magic potions, since he's struggling with those and Sam's shop was closed. (I have no idea why Jamil wasn't there either, because him leaving Kalim unattended seems kinda ooc.)
Honest Fellow along with his brother swoop in, making their sales pitch. Grim wonders about what Playful Land is exactly. Ace explains that it's a mysterious amusement park that nobody knows where it is. Honest Fellow says that's correct.
Honest Fellow gives the group tickets to the park. When Kalim says they'll go the next weekend, Honest Fellow chimes in, saying, "Oh, no, no! You can only use it until tomorrow!" They both fuck off into the night.
When the group gets back, they tell Riddle and Jamil about the tickets. They're both like, "Hell no!" Riddle shoots it down because skipping classes is unforgivable. (Ace was originally gonna invite Deuce, but he tattled on him to Riddle, since he found the whole thing suspicious. Honestly, good on him.) Jamil finds it suspicious and puts his foot down, telling Kalim that he forbids him from ever going.
Jack tells Leona, who is all like, "Nah, this is kinda fishy." Jack decides that he has to go because he promised Honest Fellow he would, and he doesn't want to break it.
Floyd tells Azul. He says, "Nope, I'm not coming. It's sus, and I don't wanna owe anybody anything!" They tweels laugh, saying that they want to check it out BECAUSE it's shady.
Ortho tells his brother. He shoots it down, since he doesn't like crowds. Ortho then confides in Vil thanks to them being in the same club.
Early the morning, before the sun rises, the group gathers to sneak to the harbour in town. Kalim managed to get the rest of the Light Music Club to come along, because they saw just how sad Kalim seemed and decided to tag along to comfort him. Vil was convinced to come along by Ortho. One, he wants to see what's the big deal about this park. Two, he's also suspicious, and, as a dorm leader, he wants to oversee all of his juniors and make sure they're all okay. Trey followed after Ace because Deuce asked him for his help and had the feeling that Ace would be stubborn enough to rebel and sneak out even though Riddle said no. Leona followed after Jack because he felt like he had to be the responsible one for once and was genuinely concerned about Jack's well being.
Honest Fellow arrives. He is just so dramatic. Half of them go, "Fucking really? Why did any of our juniors trust this guy? He's as sus as a FNAF animatronic!" (Not in those words, obliviously, but along that same idea.)
Honest Fellow shows them around the park. Which looks like this...
The park is more like those travelling summer fairs where it goes from town to town instead of staying in one place like Universal Studios, Knotts Berry Farm or any of the Disney Parks. The boys can kick back and indulge in their darkest desires.
The third years still feel that this whole thing is kinda sus. Since Grim and some of the others head straight to the entry gate, they reluctantly go along with it to watch over their juniors. Grim face plants into the gate, because he didn't show a ticket. Ace shows his ticket. Ace, Grim and Yuu's clothes get magically altered to resemble the ones on the card. The same thing happened to everyone else.
After everyone's gotten inside the amusement park, we have a foreboding speech from Honest Fellow and Giddel about how the young generation are easily skeptical, but can still be fooled by the promises of a fun play park. Honest Fellow mentions how he and Giddel should accommodate their visitors… for it will be the "last'' fun memory that they'd have. Cue End of Part 1.
Some other minor side things...
It's confirmed. Honest Fellow and Giddel are brothers.
Honest Fellow is a mage, but is less magically inclined compared to the NRC boys. Giddel is a non-mage.
Lulu, aka the same person from my Discord server, suspects the themepark itself might be a magic tool of some kind. Considering how it operated in the movie and novel along with fan theories about them, I'm inclined to believe them.
We also finally got a description of what Yuu is actually wearing during this event. (Honestly, it's about fucking time. Because one gripe I always had with these events is that we never get even a small description of what Yuu is wearing, which makes it harder to imagine what's going on in my head.) Basically, they are wearing the same style jacket as Leona, but with the same colours as Lilia's costume. Do with that information as you will Malleus/Yuu shippers.
Honest Fellow has a Honest John pendant on his hat.
More of a personal gripe, but I'm not sure what to make of Honest Fellow as a character yet. Right now, he seems like the mastermind behind this whole operation, but that doesn't make sense. In the movie, Honest John wasn't on board with the Pleasure Island shit, and only went along with it thanks to the Coachman threatening him and Gideon's lives. Wouldn't it be far more fitting for him to be a lacky of another villain and being forced to go along with it out of fear of having the same thing happen to him and his brother? And if that was the case, that would also better align him thematically with Ortho, who's brother is the same way towards him. But I'm reserving my judgements on his character until the event is over.
Playful Land gives me major Joy Joy Land vibes.
I find the idea of Leona, Trey and Vil going there, because they are worried about their juniors adorable. They are really tapping into their big brother instincts, even if I doubt Vil and Leona would ever admit it out loud.
Though, one plot hole with this whole thing is why didn't Jamil, Trey and Deuce rip up the tickets if they were that concerned about the others going to the park? Granted, the tickets could be enchanted so that they're impossible to destroy, but I never heard if that's the case yet. Idk, it's a nitpick, but it's still something that annoys me a bit as a writer myself.

Welp, all that being said abt Jenny herself notwithstanding, even without her input that god awful Star Wars hotel looks like hell to me.
Like, I could not imagine a person (or worse a child) with my kind of autistic overstimulation problem, and I'm talking one who likes or even LOVES Star Wars, having actual fun in that place.
To give you an idea, I LOVE Disney and Nightmare Before Christmas a lot especially, but I hate [being at] Disney parks. I hate social events and am asocial (working on it). Being surrounded by my hyperfixation is not comforting for me when I'm in a high-energy place where people are making me be social about said hyperfixation and practically shoving it in my face to get me to interact. I got to prepare myself for things like that and things like that I only do for other people. I can't keep up. I get stressed out. I literally have nightmares about this stuff. If there was a hotel of some kind of immersive TNBC thing I would hate it. I already hated going on Haunted Mansion Holiday.
Watching any promo of the hotel and video taken on the Galactic Starcruiser makes me sick to my stomach. It makes me think of this video I saw on a "so cute" compiliation that made me sad, where parents got their kids in the car happily said "we're going to Disneyworld =D!!" expecting a fun reaction and then suddenly the boy being filmed goes "we need to talk about this- WE WERE GONNA TALK ABOUT THIS" unbuckles and runs back into the house terrified. Unless it was one of those ab*sive family channels, I feel so bad for that kid and I really hope that served a lesson for those parents that some kids don't like ANY surprises and not to do that to him ever again. When I was a kid I couldn't actually communicate just how much I hated being at Disneyland and that just made it even worse. It made me feel like I was the problem; like I didn't fit.
Kevin, Jenny and other themepark bloggrs like Yesterworld ARE the disney adults this shit is made for and the fact that their reviews are so scathing and they have trouble keeping up or making any light out of this, that's what's telling to me. I look at my mom and other adults trying to figure out how these awful broken apps work and feeling the need to give all their money to Disney because they didn't have to do that before-- it makes me genuinely very mad. I think especially about the grandparents and non-tech savy folks who are struggling with it- like a non-english speaking grandparent trying to use the apps and magic bands for the sake of their kid, being texted "just use the app gran!" when the tech is clearly broken, and said grandparent crying cuz they can't even sit down to collect themselves at this god-awful immersive theme park. I feel for that person who I'm pretty sure is real somewhere. They're like me and they're like that kid in that aformentioned video: they can't keep up. They feel like a burden. So much for you happiest place on earth.
--AND THEN, you wind up paying 6,000 dollars +all the extras that come with it. My adult brain is frying. Disney should reimburse EVERYONE for what they made non-tiktok influencers go through. What they're still making guests go through.

Dinosaur zoo management game "Prehistoric Kingdom" is basically just Jurassic Park if it was run as a legitimate zoo instead of a themepark.

Had a dream that Ducktales 2017 was remade/continued as an anime (but it was only slightly more detailed than the original style, Scrooge had very fluffy whiskers similar to the classic comics and the beaks of the characters were rounder all around), woke up, and was so disappointed that it was a dream.
Highlights from it were:
One of the kids at a themepark that only had teenagers? I think it was an allegory for puberty somehow?
Mark Beaks leaning back on his chair looking smug as hell, i feel like it was a remake of the episode "Who Is Gizmoduck"
A dark lab focusing on a tank with someone inside, but a shadow obscured the front, i don't remember if it was a character or an object, this one was right before i woke up.
There were more but they're all too blurry at this point.
#ducktales 2017#dream shenanigans#no seriously i woke up and got so upset at my own brain for this#it really felt like i was just watching it on a screen

My other frustration with keichi relationship is how ineffective it is overall, esp now in the !! era.
Like. A contrast that was supposedly there is that Keito is a moral person (even tho his moral compass is dumb) and Eichi isn't. And you get this displayed a lot in the ! era a lot. And that's why they're always fighting and Eichi notice and appreciate being challenged.
Like...this is why you got Keito being like "you have gone too far. I will no longer hold your funeral! You can go to hell!" During tanabata. And the fact he ended up siding with Trickstar in the end. That was significant.
But now when things actually matter and they're in the real world suddenly he's like.
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/b9be64a2bb6ede8264f8d58c7a2b1d00/c26e5fc3bc4ac9af-66/s540x810/444fd103341d1a96a642d06f373e8bab0b5e483f.jpg)
And now you get Keito working with Rei in Rhylin. And you'd think this is a pretty powerful alliance. But they're like. Both deep in the grind minding their own units, and basically in retirement mode in terms of overall ES politics. And periodically you'd just get them commentating like "man what ES is doing in this event is really scummy huh? Nothing I can do tho!"
And then you get info in the beginning of ES main plot that Keito and Eichi have lunch sometimes. And like. What do you even talk about?? "Hey eichi can we not do this hostile takeover monopoly thing? What happened to free market?" Or "maybe don't build the suicide themepark I think that's a bad idea." Clearly not that. Keito being like "ES administration has some serious problems, nothing I can do tho." And like. Keito are you even still friends with the chairman of ES? The head of ES administration?? How do you feel about this? No comment??
And the insane thing is. Nothing has indicated that they're no longer friends or had a catastrophic fallout.
Like. The complete lack of anything here is just wild.

Alright, it's time to finally compile my thoughts about how the premise of Tron Identity fits, or rather, doesn't seem to fit, together with Legacy, and my thus far failed attempts to make them fit. Long post with spoilers ahead.
First of all, I would like to state that I'm not opposed to the retcon that Quorra isn't in fact the last surviving ISO. I like to compare it to Superman: Depending on which continuity you're reading, Kal-El is either the only survivor of Krypton's destruction, The Last Kryptonian, or he's one of several survivors, including Supergirl, Krypto, Zod, the whole bottle city of Kandor, etc. Both of these premises are compelling to me: There's certainly a poetic tragedy of being the absolute last survivor of a calamity that wiped out your people, but I think that many people can also relate to the concept of a small group of survivors of a catastrophe trying to preserve and perhaps re-establish their culture. Similarly, Quorra being The Last ISO is interesting, but I see plenty of story potential in her being one of several survivors, perhaps trying to find and rescue her kin trapped in the Arq Server. And from what I can recall from watching Legacy recently, I think that they technically never outright say that Quorra is the last of her kind, though it is of course very heavily implied.
EDIT: Okay, Kevin does specifically call Quorra "the last ISO". Nevermind, then.
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/3a21b2409d26417b065e1e7b013506f4/625965e1d3941a61-39/s540x810/e3b23d242c99fc7676182cfa964d6b6768e834e7.jpg)
With that said, I think the main problem with the idea that Kevin Flynn created a backup server to which he migrated a bunch of ISOs can be summarized thus: Why the hell didn't he tell Sam? I guess the question could also be "why didn't he tell Quorra?", but I honestly have a difficulty seeing a scenario where Quorra isn't aware of the Arq Server in some way. I think that one of the very first things Kevin would tell Quorra when they meet after the Purge would be that he's saved other ISOs, I just can't imagine why he would keep her thinking that she's the last survivor. And even if he didn't tell her for some reason, I still think she would have suspiscions, since I imagine that most of the ISOs remaining on the Grid would notice if Kevin suddenly sneaked away some of them without telling anyone.
I have tried to figure out some explanations for why Kevin never told Sam about the Arq Server, and I have seen some possible explanations by other Tron fans, but none of them seem to hold up perfectly, for reasons I will explain below:
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/cb733230a5589ca09bd761289d4caa73/625965e1d3941a61-db/s540x810/e35fd1da59c81c5e7bf9907f7b2823825d91e9ca.jpg)
Kevin did tell Sam, we just never saw it in the movie: Okay, I guess there could be some moment when they're talking, like on the Sailer, and Flynn says "Oh, by the way..." I would probably have to do a rewatch of Legacy, but I suppose it could be possible that Sam isn't motivated by "I have to save Quorra, she's the last of her kind" and instead by "I have to save Quorra, so she can reunite with her fellow ISOs". The big problem with this idea is that once Sam got out, I have to imagine that his top priority would be to check on the Arq Server as soon as possible. Even if Sam procrastinated for whatever reason ("I have to start building a themepark ride!"), I imagine that Quorra would be on his ass about it every waking moment, for obvious reasons. But as I understand it, the premise of Identity is that the Arq Server hasn't been visited by anyone from the outside since the end of Legacy. It's been running by itself since 1989 up to our current present day year of 2023, perhaps even longer, and that's why it's in danger of running out of power. I don't think that works if Sam is aware of it.
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/200ba0b62a268d68f4da320648942a9b/625965e1d3941a61-22/s540x810/0b64074347e47d30bc9383e47c69ff75847610b7.jpg)
Kevin thought the Arq Server had stopped functioning/was destroyed/was stolen: This was a scenario I saw someone else here on Tumblr suggest, and it's certainly a tantalizing idea. The idea of some as yet unknown third party carrying around a copy of the Arq Grid in their pocket is particularly fascinating, but I would assume that Kevin would tell Sam about it in that case: "When we get out, we have to find the person who stole the backup." Kevin believing that the server was destroyed or nonfunctional in some way is probably the scenario I have the least problems with, though I imagine that in that case he would at least have told Sam "I tried to make a backup, but..." I think it's especially interesting to imagine a conspiracy where someone inside the Arq Server somehow managed to "hack" it to fool Kevin into thinking it was shut down, perhaps some unscrupulous ISO who wanted to rule it for themselves?
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/f6e50a492516721c478d977eded866fa/625965e1d3941a61-c5/s540x810/625a63b2c643d77ada6acaac48459e58d1e40c43.jpg)
Kevin forgot: And I don't mean "Oops, it just slipped my mind", I mean that something happened to his memory that erased his knowledge of the Arq Server. I had actually started sketching out a piece of fanfiction in which Kevin at some point before Legacy is temporarily captured by Clu (though later escaping, of course), and during his capture Clu manages to access this particular memory from Kevin's identity disc, and erases it for evil reasons. I liked the idea that Clu would know about the Arq Sever and was plotting to visit it once he got out, while Kevin was no longer aware of it, only regaining the memory when he reintegrates with Clu, and being unable to tell Sam before he disappears. However, I couldn't fit this together with the timeline of when Kevin meets Quorra (as I understand it, according to Tron Evolution that happened very shortly after the betrayal and purge). For the reasons stated above, Quorra would have to be aware of the Arq Server, and if Kevin got his memory erased after meeting Quorra, I have a hard time believing that she wouldn't mention it to him at some point after he escaped from Clu.
So there you have it. I really wish I could fit together Identity and Legacy in some way, since I really do like the game and all the concepts it introduces. It's possible I have missed or misunderstood something in my thoughts described above, and I'd be more than happy if someone points it out. It's also possible that the creators of Identity will come with some explanation in the promised sequels, that this whole thing is an intentional larger mystery that will eventually be revealed.

Speaking as a person from the outside looking in at the FNAF series: How in the world is Fazbear's still trucking along?
Like even setting aside the murders since that'd be a couple locations in however many are set up across the country within the first 10 years, how?
I know there's probably a lot of careful management of public image and the dayshift either don't know or are too terrified to say a thing when it comes to the murderbot locations. But while I do know the bots are supposed to be popular... how popular are they? Is it just Chuck E Cheese level or is it Mickey Mouse level? Because that's vastly different levels of popularity.
With Chuck E Cheese, they started in the 1970s in Utah, got popular, started going all over the country, and while I do remember them being popular when I was a kid they've definitely wound down and many locations shut down. Of course, this is also true of Gameworks too and all sorts of arcade places so it's not like it's just Chuck E Cheese alone. In the 2010s they had financial troubles and multiple buyouts and that's before getting into Covid and how they started selling food by delivery to make up for lost business.
Disney's themeparks on the other hand have only grown in everything: size, popularity, variety, price, ect. Similarly started from the 1970s onward but with so very few closings that you know it's a carefully maintained money-making machine. In spite of the fact that there are still the usual suspects when it comes to accidents, incidents, and everything. Hell there's a known list ranging in everything from age, cause, injury, and location within the park. Nothing short of God will close it down and even then it'll still be packed to the brim with people selling out a hundreds of dollars for a single ticket before getting into any of the addons.
Assuming the murderbots are less known and believed to be more along the lines of the "Abandoned by Disney" creepypasta? Most people probably wouldn't had made a direct connection between Fazbear's and the Utah missing child cases.
And that's before getting into the work stories heard from former employees. How much of that would be believed in FNAF if anyone dares to speak up? How did the first game's location even get security guards or keep the high turnover on the downlow? I think there's rumors spread thanks to the VR game and FNAF3, but it seems more like Fazbear is treating it as an urban legend. Are people who believe the rumors treated like tinfoil hats or is it one of those things that everyone knows happened but no matter how much is talked or how many lawsuits nobody can really do a thing about it?
Hell, how many people would even know that William Afton would go around Fazbear's dressed like security? It'd be like hearing Roy Disney ghosted around the first themepark dressed like Mr. Smee.

Roommate and I joined the 68,000* yesterday evening.
But I lived, bitch.
"What happened?" Roommate, who was delivering 120 water bottles downtown with me while he'd suffered a day-long treatment-resistant headache and weeks of inadequate sleep, blew a red light 2 blocks from the gathering of unhoused people to whom the water bottles were to be distributed, and someone (from Dallas, my god I'm so sorry this is a Major Houston Memory for her now) who was obeying traffic laws plowed into the front passenger side of the car we were in because she had too much momentum to stop.
AND GUESS WHO WAS IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE OF THE CAR, YEAAAHHHH BABYYYYY
Parties I consider at fault: -Houston, being a massively shitty 'built for cars and not people' nexus of hell that forces people in any and all conditions to pilot killing machines to get from point A to point B. -Houston again, and honestly all of US society, with its violently negligent attitude toward anyone even temporarily down on their luck and its refusal to house unhoused people, even though mountains of studies attest that not only is housing the unhoused the right fucking thing to do, it's cheaper. We would not have been schlepping downtown both nigh-lethally exhausted out of our minds to deliver water if the people in this city were properly cared for. -Yeah honestly my roommate, he's kind of always made me nervous behind the wheel bc his ADHD makes me look downright neurotypical by comparison, and I've chewed him out several times for dumbass shit he's done on the road while I was present. He's been in absolute hell since last night over screwing up so bad he lost his car and almost killed multiple people including a friend, though, and I'm not going to add to his anguish by being angry at him. I am honestly kind of angry, but I'm working through it. -not the person we hit, she did everything right but unfortunately lost her car to a combination of What Our Society Chooses To Be and my roommate driving while unfit to do so. "Are you ok?" By the grace of God, airbags, seatbelts, and the intercession of several saints, despite being the one who was hit, I got out with only some bruises and an uglier-than-it-feels spot of road rash taking up the lower half of my upper arm. I was well enough to decline an ambulance and walk a mile to the nearest ER (the one good thing about the stupid themepark for oil and gas pencil pushers that downtown Houston is: there is an ER on St. Joseph's Pkwy that is pretty easy to reach from most of downtown if you can walk.) I hurt, but by all accounts I should probably be in much more pain than I am... though I'm sure when/if the adrenaline finally wears off, I will cry.
I am probably going to need some help with being able to ride passenger-side again, and when roomie gets his replacement car (because this city is fucking garbage and his continued employment depends on him having a car to get to/from work) I am probably not going to be able to ride with him, because what trust I had there is honestly just fucking demolished. But God willing I will be okay nonetheless.I have other friends who can drive, and I know they'll be patient with me insisting on taking the middle back seat until my brain can recover.
TL;DR: Airbags are your friend, and wear your seatbelt always. Please. Do it for me, at least. Everyone I talked to last night (when not helpfully informing me that I was in shock) asked if I was wearing my seatbelt. I was, as I was happy to inform them. That and the airbag are why I'm able to dick around online from the comfort of my home this morning instead of being strung up in ICU or lying in a bag at the morgue.
*there are approximately 68,000 wrecks on Houston roads every year. We outrank several states in terms of volume of auto collisions. Even the very nice fireman who wrapped up my road rash told me when he moved here from Chicago, he totaled his car within two weeks bc he hadn't quite adapted to the concept of feeder roads yet and got bowled by someone in a hurry/not paying attention. This place fucking sucks, man, never come here. Stop moving here.

Really wish there was someone else who hated* Disneyland to talk to (that wasn't a creep, I mean)
*hate = "strongly dislike/am triggered by it".
The thing about me is I really really DON'T like themeparks and Disneyland isn't just a themepark, it's a good themepark. It's super immersive and well made and yes this is a problem for me.
I hate crowds. I hate waiting in even short lines. I hate not being sure what to buy which is bad cause shopping is the only thing I like to do in Disneyland so even that becomes part of my fears. You can surround me with characters I love like Haunted Mansion Holiday does and I feel like honestly throwing up, especially when I'm right alongside my family and they're all trying to have fun and telling me "isn't this great?!". For me, a neurodivergent person who's way too overstimulated by people being hyped up about how they MUST have the best time ever- Disneyland is not the happiest place on earth at all. It's hell because it's a reminder for me that I can't keep up or get into the groove that my loved ones can. It's a reminder that I 'don't belong'. Legit have dreams every other month about being trapped at a Disneypark and having the worst time because all I associate these with is stress.
But again, none of that is the park's fault. I love the imagineering and creativity and design and ridethroughs. I live out what love I do have for these parks through Defunctland, Yesterworld and Jenny Nicholson. These are good parks, I just don't like amusement parks the same way like I don't like suffocating Christmas hype. I really wish I had another OCD/Autistic/ADHD/Anxiety ridden neurodivergent friend to bond with this over. But, not only do I not have that, I kinda feel like the only other people who dislike Disneyparks are complete a$$hole-monsters.
Ya got Randy Moore (Escape from Tomorrow), the creep who had a great idea for an indie film about loosing your mind in the parks that was shot guerilla style IN the parks; too bad he squandered it on edgy nothing-ideas, bad acting, and using Disney to excuse his hebephilia while he up and assaulted park guests who were just trying to have a vacation. Patron Saint of the Themeparks AND bonafied Disneysass-mistress Jenny Nicholson tore that garbage apart:
youtube
And then there's the waste of space that is Patrick Spikes (Backdoor Disney), who stole an animatronic from Epcot and seriously tries to act like he's the hero in all this and Disney has some kind of grand conspiracy against him (for stealing their property? NOOOoo!!!). The man is no Glendale. He's just a thief with serious main character syndrome. In Dreading's video about this incident, it says that he used to wax on and on about how Disneypark employees were mistreated. I'm totally certain workplace abuse happens there -again, this is DISNEY we're talking about- but I doubt any of the stories like Patrick told them happened. He stole Buzzy so he could prove that Disney is "unsafe", but all he really did was prove that the parks are unsafe from people like him- a man who used that position to desecrate a piece of machinery someone put their heart and soul into once so he could pretend he's John Wick.
youtube
There's no shortage of awful things that Disney has actually done, in their themeparks or otherwise, and again it's not the parks or the guests' fault that Disney is a capitalist hellscape. These two men and shiftygrifty grubbers who think they're smarter than everyone around them. They think they got galaxy brains for saying the bare minimum and being nothing but a public nuisance and making life harder for everyone.
You know your case is bad when you can definitively say that Disney, the company, didn't do anything wrong this time.
