If you use a telehealth service, it is almost certainly selling the information you give it to big tech companies in a way that is personally identifiable.

As in, these services are literally telling Facebook, Google, etc that your first name + last name + email address visited a website to access mental, reproductive, or addiction-related healthcare. They are sharing the questionnaire answers that you provide and what medications you buy.

And it appears to be legal.

Thursday Update: Since publishing, Campbell has confirmed the documents authenticity, stating to the Tallahassee Democrat in part: Campbell stated that the policy should have stated “Undocumented immigrant,” not “Hispanic,”.

“It’s not what we do. We’re not prosecuting people because of race. We’re prosecuting differently because of their legal status. Because as undocumented, I don’t know what their history is,” said Campbell.

This is a memo from within the office of a Florida prosecutor.

I always get a kind of… reality shock, you could say, from things like this. Because most of the discussion of racism I see is about stuff like a fan artist drawing a dark-skinned character with not-dark-enough skin. 

And then I take a look at the real world and I see people entrusted by society with the power to destroy lives, blatantly using that power to punish anyone who dares to be born the wrong ethnicity.
