List of things kpop idols can't do
• date ("our fans are my girlfriends/boyfriends")("don't cheat on us until our next comeback ;)))") • get caught dating • smoke (drinking is fine tho) • make eye contact w/ opposite gender • get within a 3 meter radius w/ opposite gender • swear • say personal opinions • be too loud • be too quiet • be themselves in general • complain about career • laugh annoyingly • frown • look tired • watch porn • make human mistakes • be confident in themselves • have low self esteem • look ugly • get plastic surgery • be less enthusiastic in front of their fans • be stupid • be too smart • be too fat (48kg+ for girls, 65kg+ for boys) • be too skinny • have acne or other obvious skin troubles • be tan (applies for most korean fans) "All that the fans wish for idols to be is to be happy" "But within the range of still satisfying the fans' desires" Being an idol doesn't immediately strip that person of their basic individual rights as a human being. i don't get how most fans in Korea can't comprehend this??? This is shit you learn throughout your 12 mandatory years of schooling like wtf what do they teach you in ethics classes in Korea? Fucking calculus?? Smh

I really thought they would finally stfu but ofc now they're saying the judge's decision was wrong and based on no evidence, that the reliability of the witnesses should not have been questioned and that the sentence is too high compared to yoo inseoks. ngl their whole argument of the sk justice system being unjust and out to get their poor oppa is starting to look lowkey racist to me (aside from the more obvious problems with it). 99% don't even speak korean. How the fuck would they even know? I doubt they know shit about the country let alone its legal system. How dare they claim all these law professionals involved in this case are dumb and incompetent. How dare they speak over korean's women's voices just because their fave got involved in some shit. They make it seem like the korean people and kvips are dumb and brainwashed because they refuse to believe that pos. Even on the off chance that he isn't guilty of all of his charges. He's a rich man. He can appeal. He can probably just be a good boy for a year and then get out somehow. Why are they so worried for him? Why do they continue to refuse to let people just move the fuck on? They ask for justice but will not believe any verdict besides one that comes from their own beloved idol's mouth. Besides... Even if the government and jurisdiction there were corrupt, wouldn't it be the other way around? Wouldn't they favour the famous rich guy? What would they even be gaining in witch hunting him? Hubris much? Absolutely shameless and disgusting the lot of them.
👏👏👏
I almost don't want to say anything because this is so good already, but... a few comments:
1) "the reliability of the witnesses should not have been questioned" -- I've read many reports and not once have I seen the reliability of the witnesses questioned? Not saying it isn’t possible, just that I haven’t seen it reported. I do know, however, that Seungri's reliability was questioned. It was said that from the police investigation to the prosecutor's investigation to the court proceedings his statements were inconsistent and lacked credibility. And they DID. Especially if you take into account his statements to the public, of which there were plenty. Most notably that Chosun interview that he got out there and gave while he was a primary suspect in the middle of a criminal investigation.
For example, the chat that shows Seungri instructing Yoo & Co to find prositutes for their investors at Club Arena... Seungri's excuses, in chronological order:
"The chats are fabricated." (this was the first chat to be released and the first one he responded to publicly)
"The chats aren't fabricated, I just didn't remember them."
"I don't know why I said that. I think I was drinking."
"It isn’t about sex. It's a phrase that means something else and is used by young people. You old folks wouldn't understand." (regarding the phrase "girls that give it good")
"It was a typo due to my phone's autocorrect function."
Another example: how about that confession he made at his arrest warrant hearing in May 2019? You know, the one that his zealous fans will insist until their dying breath was "all media lies"? He admitted in front of a judge, "I had sexual relations with a female employee of an adult entertainment establishment after paying money," said it was "difficult to admit" because of his celebrity status, and claimed he was "reflecting." It doesn't get any clearer than that! But somehow, over a year later when his trial officially began, that very detailed confession of his turned into "I don't remember. But if I did sleep with her, I didn't know she was a prostitute."
???
He actually addressed this in one of his final hearings. He tried to explain away his changing statement by saying that he had only admitted to it because the woman did, and if she said it happened, he thought he had no choice but to agree (?!) but when he reviewed her testimony he found it "unreliable." And just like that he didn't remember after all.
Y'all. What the hell. Who does that? Who, despite being unsure of the validity of a criminal charge against him, confesses anyway? Certainly not someone as careful and calculating as Seungri. What most likely happened is he analyzed her statement to police and found holes in it that he thought he could exploit. At least he confirmed that the confession at the warrant hearing was real and his stans can finally shut up about it being a made-up media conspiracy. But of course we know they won't. They won't.
2) "the sentence is too high compared to yoo inseoks" -- Of course Seungri's sentence is more severe than Yoo Insuk's. Yoo pleaded guilty to all but one of his charges at his first hearing (the embezzlement charge he only partially agreed with), saving the court a great deal of time and effort in closing his case. Seungri, on the other hand, pleaded not guilty to all but one of his charges. Seungri went into this knowing full well that by fighting the charges and making this a headache for everyone he was risking a harsher penalty should he be found guilty. That's how it works over there. His unrepentant attitude and refusal to accept responsibility and reflect were reasons explicitly given for the prosecution’s requested 5-year sentence. He gambled with the legal system and he lost.
You'll also see his fans crying foul at CJH and JJY getting shorter sentences. Actually, CJH and JJY received higher sentences initially (5 years and 6 years respectively). The reason they are lower now (2.5 and 5) is because they wouldn't accept the results and appealed their cases to death.
3) "their whole argument of the sk justice system being unjust and out to get their poor oppa is starting to look lowkey racist to me" -- They've been highkey racist about this since the beginning. You'd be appalled to see some of the blatantly xenophobic things they've spewed to me about Koreans entirely in defense of Seungri.

The 2021 Atlanta Spa Shootings was a FUCKING HATE CRIME! Never forget!
Are you fucking serious?! It's the same old bullshit white excuse for these white incel mass shooters - he had a "mental illness." White privilege is REAL. I even saw a bunch of WMAF couples on Instagram gaslighting and trying to say this wasn't a hate crime. They all need to shut the fuck up.
Jay Baker, the police chief who says the Atlanta shooter "had a bad day", was removed from the case.
LOL "bad day?" What a bunch of fucking bullshit and white privilege. I bet if the situation was reversed they wouldn't be saying the Asian man had a "bad day." Also he was already a racist towards Asians given his "anti-China" shirt so I'm honestly not surprised this pinktard would say this.
Also not surprising that white conservatives and Republicans were already gaslighting Asians and saying it's not a hate crime.
Fucking single-digit IQ. What the fuck do Asian American women in a spa parlor have to do with China?! White conservatives like her aren't even hiding their racism at this point. Just admit you hate Asians. It's funny when the perpetrator is white, they justify it in every angle possible but if he was Mexican, Muslim, black, hell even Asian, they'll go on rants about how backward and evil all 4 are and how white people are the most oppressed group in America. Fucking double standards.
ALSO not to mention an ASIAN WOMAN blamed the shooting on ASIAN MEN. I have no fucking words.
A white male with a sexual fetish for Asian women literally shot and killed Asian women but the usual self-hating Asian women (Lus) are already blaming Asian men? "Asian men uphold white supremacy" LOL the projection. Pure fucking hypocrisy right here.
I hate how the media keeps calling him a "sex addict." If it was sex-related he would have also shot up porn stores and strip clubs but he didn't. He SPECIFICALLY targeted that specific Asian spa parlor and thought through the whole process. STOP fucking calling him a sex addict or "incel" although he was one. He is a fucking white domestic terrorist!
According to one of Korea’s big dailies, Chosun llbo, has a witness at the spa saying the Atlanta shooter shouted “I am going to kill all the Asians!”
White conservatives & Republicans: "But but but tHiS hAd NoThInG tO dO wITH rAcE!"
It's obvious that this was racially motivated. The fact that he had a creepy, perverted Asian female fetish is a convenient coverup for the biased white media. It completely omits the idea that he specifically picked that spot to shoot up because he hated Asians. This is a hate crime PERIOD.
Honestly, I'm not even surprised at this point. The stereotypes LITERALLY write themselves. White domestic terrorism is a HUGE threat to America. These creepy, perverted, neckbeard incels with their sexual fetishization go after Asian women and kill them and these Lus still defend them. Un-fucking-believable. Stay safe Asian brothers and sisters!

Jealousy is one hell of a drug, just look at Kim Won-hyung and his pursuit for recognition and powe because he was jealous of the attention that Chief Gwi (as the prince) was getting from papa Chief Yeom back in the Chosun era
(Lowkey wish MPUB had 16 episodes so that Kim Won-hyung’s fall from grace was portrayed as well as Weol-ju’s Chosun arc... in fact more Chief Gwi and Kim Won-hyung in Chosun would have been great for even better character building)

"Jia Song is a character aimed at China"
While some of the products worn by model and creator Song Ji-ah on the show were confirmed to be fakes and criticized, there is an observation that he might have been planned as a character aimed at China.
On the 20th, TV Chosun reporter and YouTuber Baek Eun-young said, "Song Jia may have been planned as a character aimed at China," citing a broadcasting industry official on the 20th.
In the video that day, Baek Eun-young revealed the contents of an interview with an official, saying, "After Song Ji-ah recently admitted that she wore a fake, he is undergoing verification from head to toe.
Person A said that she and Song Ji-ah had a relationship through a beauty program. He said, "Jia Song has appeared on a fixed panel on a beauty program before. So I knew from the beginning that Song Jia's house wasn't rich.
The official referred to the 'change clothes' content that Song Ji-a conducted with YouTuber Arggari in August of last year and said, "At that time, the clothes that Song Ji-a brought were not luxury goods. At that time, she wore luxury goods or did not." said.
At the same time, she saw that Song Jia's styling was aimed at China. He insisted, "Jia Song is not her target now in Korea. She said that in China, she actually doesn't care whether she wears fakes or not." He even said that it wouldn't be too much of a problem for her abroad to wear her fakes.
Song Ji-ah rose to stardom after she appeared on Netflix's 'Solo Hell' last year. The number of subscribers to the YouTube channel 'Free Zia' increased from 580,000 to 1.9 million as of the 18th. The number of SNS followers, which was 400,000 last month, is also recording 3.5 million in a month.
However, Song Ji-ah has been criticized for her recent broadcasts, as some of the products she wore were identified as fakes. In response, on the 17th, through SNS, he acknowledged and apologized for the allegations of fakes.
Song Jia said, "There is a controversy about some of the clothes I wore on social media and solo hell. Some of the controversy you pointed out is true. I'm really sorry." "I deleted all the content that exposed fakes. We apologize to the officials and subscribers and fans."

Am I Wrong
Ouça: Spotify | Assista: Performance Letra Original | Tradução em Inglês: aqui e aqui Escritores/Compositores: Kevin Moore (Am I Wrong é um sample da música Am I Wrong de Kevin Moore)
O mundo está ficando louco E você? E quanto a você?
A geração jovem frequentemente chama a sociedade coreana atual de “Hell Chosun” (Coreano: 헬조선).

Participating in the Korea Queer Culture Festival and its Parade
For D.Va participated in Korea's largest queer event, the Korea Queer Culture Festival and its parade. Korea is a "Hell-Chosun" for queers, with an army that targets sexual minorities for their investigations, and the word 'Queer' does not even come out in the news. At the Queer Festival, we shouted out loud to our society that queer rights must be protected, and that there are feminists that band with queers.

Education is never wasted. So should women not educate themselves If I Want To Be Quiet I Would’ve Stayed Home Car Racing Lovers Women Shirt T-Shirt. Hell no! Go to school. Go as far as you can, as youd like. IF when you have children you are in a financial position where you can afford to be home & it’s what you want to do then do it. Once you are done raising your little ones that degree can be used to go back to work. It can also be used to work from home. That degree means you get to have choices & that is exactly WHY we get one. We have enough money not to worry or be stressed and can do nice things sometimes, but I also have 4 days off with them to enjoy them growing and learning. As mums we all know how hard it is practically and If I Want To Be Quiet I Would’ve Stayed Home Car Racing Lovers Women Shirt T-Shirt. We should be lifting each other up and honouring each other’s choices, we are all in this together and what’s good for one family might not suit the next If I Want To Be Quiet I Wouldve Stayed Home Car Racing Lovers Women Shirt, hoodie, sweater, longsleeve and ladies t-shirt

If I Want To Be Quiet I Wouldve Stayed Home Car Racing Lovers Women Shirt Unisex “Kim Hyok-chol, the envoy, was executed by firing squad in March at the Mirim airfield in a suburb of Pyongyang, the North Korean capital, Chosun Ilbo, South Korea’s largest daily, reported on Friday, citing an anonymous source If I Want To Be Quiet I Wouldve Stayed Home Car Racing Lovers Women Shirt . Mr. Kim faced the charge that he was ‘won over by the American imperialists to betray the supreme leader,’ the newspaper said.”These days, there's some contention over what exactly constitutes "beach reads." The genre may not be strictly defined, but Vogue editors agree on one thing: a beach read is any book you look forward to reading when you finally have free time. While some of the titles we're reading this year are new—and a handful are even making their summer debuts—many are old favorites we look forward to revisiting year after year.Joan Didion’s 1996 novel The Last Thing He Wanted, soon to be a Netflix film by the director Dee Rees, isn’t a traditional beach read. It’s too elliptical and ambiguous—stylishly repetitive and elusive in that Didion way. But if you give yourself to it, as I did over a recent lazy spring weekend, this slim novel of arms dealers, assassination attempts and government conspiracies takes hypnotic hold. Elena McMahon is one of those perfect Didion creations,Chosun Ilbo, South Korea’s largest daily, reported on Friday a disaffected political journalist who gets caught up in her father’s criminality, and finds herself stranded on an unnamed Caribbean island as shadowy agents begin to circle. The story telling is prismatic, disorientating and wire taut all at once. - Taylor Antrim, Executive Editor You Can See More Product: https://newshirtonline.com/product-category/trending/ Read the full article

Quote
I sailed from Seattle, far away from friends and home Across the blue Pacific to the Land of Morning Calm Here's a helmet and a rifle and your prophylactics, too And as sure as I'm your captain, we will make a man of you The 105's were pounding, and their thunder shook the night; I asked my bold commander, "Who am I here to fight?" "It's the Slopes and the Slants, it's the Gooks and Chinks," said he And I wondered if their captain ever said the same of me I'd seen the mountain winter, where the air is cold and still; But, oh, that frozen Chosun, it was a living hell With the fever and the jaundice and a hundred kinds of mold We were slaughtered in our mummy bags by bayonets and cold And everywhere I traveled from the Gap at Kumari(?) The Yong-San Reservation to the camps at Moonsanee (?) From the golden plains of Inchon, my boots rotting on my feet All I heard were crying babies while their mothers walked the street We bought watches, we bought cameras, we bought whores, and we bought booze; With the little barefoot beggars bending down to shine our shoes We gave them back our candy, and to answer our desire Oh, we gave them round-eyed babies who died outside the wire I got off in Seattle, and I climbed on board a train I rode it through the mountains with a fever in my brain I could find no reason to remain here any more Oh, there was no sign around me of the life I'd lived before Then what's the pride in country if it robs a man of will? What's the pride in manhood if a man will rape and kill? And what's the pride in killing if the dead will rise gain? Ah, but there's a pride in knowing that the enemy's within So, listen all you troopers, here's a lesson you should know From an older brownshoe soldier, who marched off long ago; They will use your pride and passion for to settle all their fights Keep your pride in your trousers, and your captain in your sights
Utah Phillips, Trooper’s Lament Always relevant but whenever more ‘troops on the ground’ are mentioned. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ymS7ynj0rao

Where U at
I’m just losing my way. I don’t know exactly where I am. I’m in here, I know that I’m so happy with my lovely family and mates but sometimes I don’t really like someone who is pushing me about job and marriage, probably everyone knows that fact. 20's and 30's generation in this country live in here like living in a hell. that’s why we called 'Chosun in hell'. I can’t explain how to fix them but i know that we have to do something we really fancy something. if we don’t, we will regret all the time when we got too old age. so the point is don’t forget our dream. I mean, we had a dream when we was young and we spoke to parents, They really liked and supported it. Please remember we have to get a dream and try to carry on the dream.

i agree with most things you say about seungri's situation, but when you hint at saying his resignation from yg & bb is noble or whatever... i just can't see it that way. i see it as manipulative. that he said it for sympathy & to get fans on his side. he Knows how dedicated vip are and how even more so vvip are and he wrote his letter knowing that.
I know. I’m just trying to appeal to Seungri’s remaining fans in a way that might get through to them. A kinder approach, you could say. Rather than going at it from the “your fave is trash and a horrible person and you should be ashamed” angle, which is more heavy-handed than I like and likely to meet resistance and something I don’t fully agree with anyway, I’m asking them to listen to Seungri’s own words in which he announced he was out. I’m offering them the chance to at least pretend he did it nobly… to save face for themselves, or what little is left anyway, just as Seungri did for himself. Think of it as a parting gift of sorts. Seungri gave us a way to hail him as a hero even as he was leaving us, i.e., “I did it for you.” For the sake of keeping the peace, if this is what it takes to get people to let him go from the group, I’m willing to play along.
Denial, though, is a hell of a drug. When people still proclaim “OT5 forever,” all I see is Seungri’s own fans sticking their fingers in their ears, spitting on his “sacrifice,” and slinging it back in his face. Doesn’t matter if it comes from his own mouth; if it’s not what they want to hear, they won’t listen. But you know what? For many of them, this isn’t new. It was never about what he wanted, it was about what they wanted for him – what they wanted from him. They’ll tear him to pieces pulling on him, as long as it means they get what they want in the end: more.
Remember when a segment of his fans were pushing him to leave Big Bang because “he deserves better”? Now he’s gone and those same fans are begging him to come back. You just can’t win when your fans are this fickle. For crying out loud, let the man make his own decisions about his future!
Right, back to his retirement. I personally think it’s 50% “woe is me”, 25% trying to save face by leaving first, and 25% still caring about his hyungs and BB’s reputation enough to recognize that the best thing he can do for them is distance himself (a concept that seems to be lost on his remaining fans, some of whom are going around to various Aori Ramen restaurants and leaving notes of support on napkins and post-its… do they realize they’re hurting the owners and employees who’ve cut ties with Seungri in an attempt to stay afloat, or do they just not care).
That said, I agree with you in that, in my eyes at least, Seungri has always been manipulative to a degree. He throws himself little pity parties when things aren’t going his way, he cracks jokes and tells funny stories to vent about things that are bothering him, be it his bandmates or his management under YG. Turning to humor as a coping mechanism and a weapon, a means to an end. He does this knowing that his army of fans will come to his defense, taking advantage of it when it suits him.
Does he mean to be this way? I don’t know him well enough to say. But even if we’re willing to give him the benefit of the doubt and concede that it’s unintentional, that he doesn’t mean to influence his followers to do his bidding for him, the best you can say about it is that it’s irresponsible. And I’ve never once cared for it.
He was doing it just this January, remember? I wrote those posts timidly criticizing him for his complaints about YG… the lack of band and few backup dancers at his concert… which, wow, yeah, that sucked, but the way he handled it? How his detailed account of what went wrong, relaying word-for-word what was said between them, mobilized his fans and turned them against his own boss? Watching it all play out was both disappointing and frustrating. At the time, I was reluctant to say too much for fear of incurring the wrath of his fans, but I couldn’t resist pushing back just a bit when the situation blew up and made the news. I thought it was unprofessional and unbecoming of him to air his dirty laundry to the world like that. You could argue that he just doesn’t think before he speaks, but… I can’t fully accept that. Does he not know tact? Something about it just felt… off.
(Might I remind you that a similar thing happened to Daesung at his 2018 tour finale in Hawaii, only worse – no band, no dancers. But he brushed it off as “visa issues” and that was that. No one questioned it too deeply and there was no resulting fandom uproar. I don’t think he wanted us to take up the fight for him, and I greatly respect that.)
I know everyone likes to pretend Seungri is this cute clumsy baby panda but I’ve never bought into that act, I always thought it was a bit cringey; he’s an intelligent, grown man who’s been doing this professionally for over a decade and he had to have known the reaction his jokes and half-truths would evoke in an audience who loves him to pieces and would do anything for him. I think he’s well aware of the power he wields over us. I believe he wanted that outpouring of sympathy, and in the end he got it. He played the victim and donned a sense of vulnerability and his fans lapped it up and went to war for him… it ticked me off back then. It still does now.
I… don’t know why I did an about-face and fought so hard for him throughout February and March. As much as his pity ploys have always rubbed me the wrong way, I guess even I wasn’t fully immune in the end (I just googled “pity ploy” to make sure I was getting that right and it took me straight to articles about narcissists… damn, that’s a little too close for comfort). Even in his Chosun interview in March, it was all me, me, me, I’m scared, I don’t know anything, how am I supposed to live from now on? A part of me responded to that, just as another part of me was repulsed by it. Then, in addressing the molka vids, he allegedly cautioned JJY, “Don’t do that stuff, you’ll get in trouble.” And I thought, wait, hold up. Not because… it’s wrong? Because it’s hurting people? Because it’s destroying lives? And the text message he sent to reporters, angry about the invasion of his privacy. Oh, the irony.
If reading this gives you the impression that I never liked Seungri, that’s not it. I did like Seungri. I wouldn’t have written so much fic about him if I didn’t. A tiny, pocket-sized part of me still cares about the guy, god. But my feelings toward him have always run hot and cold. He was an acquired taste. There were things I liked him and things I didn’t. I’ve always said that while he’s interesting to watch from a distance, he’s not someone I would ever be friends with IRL. No, I never got a “bad feeling” about him like so many others are saying lately, it’s just that our personalities, lifestyles, and values are at odds with each other. I respected him as an entertainer because I enjoyed his music, voice, and dancing, but was fairly confident that given the opportunity, we would never get along in close proximity – not for long anyway.
Moving on… it’s not just the evidence we’ve been shown throughout the course of the investigation that’s slowly nudged me away from him, it’s also how he’s conducted himself in his defense. In the early stages I enjoyed that he was putting up a fight, in a legal sense. It was entertaining. But once he began giving interviews… once he presented himself to the press, presumably without a PR rep to help him polish his statements… I haven’t much liked what I’ve seen. The character of Seungri has fallen away; this is Lee Seunghyun we’re faced with now. And I can’t say I’m impressed by this brazen display of self-interest. Why should I give him any more of my emotional energy when he doesn’t seem to give a flip about the women he and his friend group have wronged in such awful ways… I’m sorry, Seungri, but any sympathy I once had for you has finally run dry.

— your grief is as great as your splendor was: some god is weighing the one out equal to the other.
war has little to do with how people go about their lives. this is about twenty-three year old yang jihyo, better known as a freelance hacker.

mommy has a refined taste for useless men.
they come they go, they all blend together in the end leaving ghosts of themselves in their wake, always referring to themselves as “mommy’s friends.”
jihyo’s wise enough to know that mommy doesn’t have any friends really. but she supposes the bills left on the dresser drawer can change that notion.

“you know this shit isn’t for free right.” he says.
sweat stains his wife-beater and a bit of his fleshy stomach pokes out beneath it. bile creeps up jihyo’s throat as she goes to meet his eyes.
lecherous. vile. jealous.
overall waste of a human being; only good for the one thing he can manage to offer, the internet cafe he owns.
“you fuck my mom for free, let’s call it even.”

the perfect crime is invented by an intelligent teenage girl with nothing to lose and unlimited access to the internet.

a week later a woman shows up with a sour looking face and a heavy suitcase.
“what. were you disappointed with the result? personally i thought he did a good job in the video. he ought to consider a career in porn.”
the woman doesn’t appreciate her joke. thin lips pull over white glistening teeth, and jihyo can’t help but wonder how much collagen goes into a face like the one presented before her.
“little fleas like you shouldn’t be so greedy, you know? greed is what ends people.” the woman says in a light tone, as if they’re discussing the fucking weather.
“enlightening advice from the woman who just overthrew her husband at her father’s company so she could be heir-apparent. i’ll keep it in mind.”
the bag slams loudly on the floor and jihyo can feel her anticipation rise when well-manicured hands unzip the suitcase. she thinks, when she gets a chance she’ll try a manicure like that; it could look pretty clacking along a keyboard.
“15,000,000 won, are you satisfied?”
there’s a certain poise that comes with being able to afford to pay off some shit-stain hacker and only be minorly annoyed by it. It’s something jihyo’s never encountered, and something she realizes no matter what she does she’ll never ascertain. jihyo is the dirt, this woman is the rose bush sapping the nutrients; no amount of money can change it.
she pulls the suitcase towards her and pushes her sunglasses to the bridge of her nose. classy thieves in the film always use sunglasses to hide in the daytime.
“if you ever,” the woman says with a voice as pleasant as a ringing bell, “if you ever, come near me or contact me again i’ll have you thrown in prison so quickly you’ll get whiplash. do you understand?”
“yeah, i get it. i served my purpose now it’s time for me to crawl back in my hovel. nice doing business with you.”
the woman brushes her off before the rest of the words leave jihyo’s mouth.
“fucking bitch.”
vii.
“mom, i’m gonna be gone for a while. I left you some money on the dresser.”
“where are you going?”
“don’t know, won’t be back for a while though. i’ll send you some money next month.”
“are you in trouble?”
“not really, but i think in the long run it’ll be better if i don’t work out of my mom’s house. looks bad for credibility purposes.”
“jihyo be careful whatever it is you’re doing.”
“always am, anyways i’ll call you later.”
they’re not a touchy family. jihyo loves her mother, her mother loves her. it’s healthy, it’s normal, it’s fine. but she won’t deny the comfort she feels in her mother’s embrace, as foreign as it is. it’s almost enough to make her stay.
“go on a nice trip, mom. or i don’t know move into a bigger apartment with jihye; she’s always complaining how small our room is.”
viii.
freshly twenty, jihyo promises she’ll change her life around. seoul is the chance for renewal.
so she lands herself a real job, meets a nice boy, makes nice friends, lives an honest life.
it’s all too boring for her in the end.
ix.
…. gem1n1 is typing.
gem1n1 says: For 50 bitcoins I won’t tell anyone how all of your company’s earnings find their way to the Cayman Islands gem1n1 says: It’s a limited time offer, better act fast before Chosun Ilbo learns how such a prolific entertainment business scams the masses. Pretty generous offer, wouldn’t you say?
x.
“tomorrow i’ll become a better person.” she tells herself when the money starts to roll in.
tomorrow never comes anymore.
