i would also like to add to the chris is 13! and he's choosing to go with THEM? discourse to add that chris does not know. because eddie is a good father and he does not let his insecurities and battles with his parents detract from the fact that ramon and helena cared for chris for a long time, that they loved him and he remembers that. they were a huge part of chris' life and he was safe with them. it wasn't perfect and we have a LOT to say about them as parents and as grandparents, but they're safety for chris. notice how all of the talks eddie has with them are away from chris. they're overbearing and have their faults (because i just know some of y'all will bring shit like that up) but chris doesn't see that.

at thirteen these choices are more than capable of being made. i have said it before and will say it again; children are wholeass human beings. they are young, but they're not without experiences. chris has dealt with a lot of stuff in LA. tsunamis, earthquakes, his father's constant brushes with death. he's making a choice to remove himself from a situation that he doesn't think is best for him right now because eddie is not making choices in his best interest. however much you like those scenes or this storyline as a whole, chris is not wrong for wanting to be secure.

and while it might not seem like it, this is also good for eddie. he needs to know he can exist in spaces without chris around. he might not want to, but he needs to learn that he can and that he is NOT in the right place, through grief and stress and ptsd and all the shit he's gone through. he is choosing to let christopher go because he knows this, deep down, where he doesn't want to look too closely.

this situation is about choices; christopher's AND eddie's.

one of the things about Orin that fascinates me is how she definitely is a dedicated bhaalist, but not nearly as dedicated to bhaal and how that's shown in a bunch of little (many unintentional) ways! her outfit being red instead of the traditional bhaalist black (or that weird bronze/gold some bhaalist armor gets), her title of the Red given to her not by bhaal nor fellow bhaalists, but by her cognate doppelgangers, the jewelry she shares with her mother but is worn by no other bhaalists, etc.

even before she says "I did all this for [Sarevok]!" and finding her Helena's corpse in Orin's room even after her mother attempted to kill her, a fact which she is clearly and justifiably caught up in, you can still see the breadcrumbs leading to the fact she is primarily driven by her more direct familial connections instead of her god

Okay, I know we've talked a lot about Eddie FaceTiming Buck (after he calls Chris and also for no apparent reason given to us) but that scene also shows us that Eddie always calls his parents before he talks to Chris. Like he has to get their permission or something to call him. And I feel like it's telling that he calls them first instead of just calling Chris (except seemingly the one time in 8×08, when Chris is almost immediately called away by his grandparents). Like not only does it seem like Helena and Ramon are working actively working against Eddie and Chris reconnecting and fixing their issues, it seems like up until this point Eddie has somewhat let them, like he thinks it's for the best.

The FaceTime scene just hurts in different ways every time I see it.

Thiago found a pregnancy test in Charlotte's room and he asked Dar'leen, who was busy with Helena, If its was her's. Dar'leen seem shock about that and she told him that they just have Helena, which not make any sense if its too fast to get her pregnant again. And Dar'leen started realize that Charlotte was acting weird lately. So, Dar'leen assume that the pregnancy test was Charlotte's, but Thiago remind Dar'leen not to accusing near Charlotte.
