Someone asked me how would I describe my art style and I'm like ??? I don't know???
the best I can come up with is "autistic kid who grew up watching Disney films and had dreams of studying animation one day tries to mimic the pictures from her childhood"
Just curious while I give it more thought, how would you guys describe my art style? 👀

Lyon
Co-brain on this one... the one and only @helen-with-an-a
Friday night were Lucy and Keira night. You learned pretty quickly to identify the different letters on the calendar so you knew when the day was Lucy would pick you up from kindergarten and take you home to her and Keiras house. Only exceptions were Away Games. Then Mum would pick you up and Lucy would come to your house as soon as she was back in Manchester. You waited impatiently at the door of your kindergarten rocking on the back of your heels back and forth looking for the familiar blue car.
“Are you waiting for your sister again, y/n?” your kindergarten teacher asked smiling
“Mhm... Wucy late as aways” you nodded fast not looking at your teacher
“She isn't late sweetie – you're just ready early” Mrs. Kean chuckled “... you always are on Fridays”
“Keiwa aways says Wucy gonnas be lates fow hews owns wedwings ones day” you said nodding seriously
“Does she now?” your teacher laughed
“Yes... Keiwa aways wight” you answered with a last nod before you saw the blue Vauxhall parking in front of the fence
“WUCY!!” you yelled excited running forward pressing your little hands and your face against the glass door “AND IS KEIWA!!”
“I see you get a full pick up today” Mrs. Kean laughed at your excitement
“Mhm...” you hummed happily as you watched Keira and Lucy walking up to the door
“Sorry for being late” your sister immediately said the second she pushed the door open a crack pushing you to the side successfully
“I tolds you so” you looked at your teacher with the according face to underline your statement
“I apologize Miss Bronze” your teacher laughed at your behaviour
“Yous are fowgivs” you declared graciously making your teacher shake her head smiling
“Bubs you ready?” Lucy asked
“Fow ages Wucy... you late” you said huffing
“I know... I'm sorry okay... Keira and I had to talk about something and lost track of time” your sister apologized as she kneeled down to close the zipper of your jacket
“Auntie Jill aways saysing “tawking” is code fow Keiwa and Wucy fudging” you turned to Mrs. Kean “... buts they never leavings me any fudges evens whens they knows I weally like chocwate fudge”
“Oh my god...” Keira exclaimed behind Lucy blushing furiously
“Bubs...” Lucy groaned “... I told you not to listen to Jill... that woman will be me death one day... and stop repeating what she says”
Your teacher took your childish naivety with the usual easiness just laughing it off
“Off you hop... we're late already” your sister pushed you slightly towards Keira who immediately took your hand
“Is not me fault” you mumbled rolling your little eyes
“She really is a delight” Mrs. Kean said to Lucy as she watched you toddling next to Keira towards the car
“She's a sassy diva” your sister snorted “... but delight would work as well”
“What you want for Dinner Bubs?” Lucy asked on your drive home
“NUGGETS” you yelled happily in your car seat kicking your small legs
“Inside voice” Keira said and for the first time you noticed something was different
Keira and Lucy weren't holding hands like usual. Lucy didn't have her hand on Keiras leg like normally when they picked you up. Keira was silently staring out of the window when she normally would ask you about your day and engaged with you. Lucy was gripping the steering wheel so hard her knuckles turned white. Something was off and you didn't know what or how to fix it
“Nuggets pwease” you mumbled your eyes flick between the two heads back and for
“We're out of Dino... we just have Safari left...” Keira said trying to let her voice sound normal but you heard the slight strain
“With giwaffe?” you asked unsure
“Yes... Giraffe should be in there” the blonde answered distracted
“Otay...” you mumbled feeling a little uncomfortable
“What did you do today Bubs?” Lucy tried to get you into a conversation
“Nofin” you kept your voice down
“Six hours of nothing? Man I wish I had your life” your sister smiled at you through the mirror but you saw that it didn't reach her eyes
“Maybe you'll have the time when you...” Keira started bitterly
“Keira...” your sister interrupted her harshly “... please”
“Whaf goings on?” you asked confused feeling the tension between them
“Nothing Bubs...” Lucy said quickly “... so... you really did nothing all day?”
“Nofin” you mumbled again sinking deeper into your car seat
“What do you want to watch tonight?” your sister asked really trying to get a conversation going
“Fwog n tod” you started to chew on your lower lip
“Frog and Toad? Again? Really?” Lucy groaned slightly
“Why change something that's going well Lucia? If she wants to watch Frog and Toad she can watch Frog and Toad...” Keira said her voice daring “... not like she wants to watch some French TV series”
“Keira please....” your sister begged “... we talked about it”
“Oh you call that talking? For me it was you already made your decision and I just have to deal with it...” the blonde snapped at her girlfriend
“Babe..” Lucy said her voice full of guilt
“No....” Keira lifted her finger threating pointing at Lucy “... don't”
“No fifing” you exclaimed tears springing to your eyes
“It's okay Bubs...” your sisters hand moved to your leg stroking it quickly hoping to calm you down “... Kei and I just need to talk about something some more.... but I promise everything is okay”
“Don't promise something you can't back up” the blonde on the passenger seat mumbled
“I got the point... I'll just shut up” Lucy huffed rolling her eyes
“Come on Bits...” Keira said as she opened your door so you could climb out of the car
“Nu uh” you pressed yourself into your seat
“Why not?” the blonde asked surprised
“No wanna goes hewe.... wanna goes home” you mumbled
“You wanna go home? Why Bits?” Keira grouched down next to the backseat
“No wannas fifing...” you said close to tears
“Oh Bitsy... we're not fighting... we're having a slight argument because Lucy is daft sometimes and doesn't think...” the blonde said softly starting to unbuckle you
“Wucy daft?” you asked tilting your head a little as you let Keira pull you out of the car
“Sometimes” Keira nodded as she placed you on her hip “... but she can't help it... it is who she is...”
“Daft woman” you mumbled letting Keira carry you inside
“Oy” you heard Lucy behind you making Keira smirk – not that your sister could see it
“Shoes off Bits” Keira said as she sat you down on the small bench in the hallway and you immediately started to pull on your shoes nearly falling off losing balance
“Careful Bubs” Lucy quickly grabbed your jacket pulling you back before you face plant onto the floor “You are such a klutz sometimes”
“Beffew clufz than daft” you shot back as you successfully pulled off your first shoe making Keira burst out laughing from the kitchen where she started your dinner
“I'm not daft” your sister exclaimed
“Keiwa says you awe” you said pulling off your second shoe immediately jumping off the bench racing down the hallway
“BUBS!!!” Lucy yelled “Jacket too!!! Ugh... that kid will give me grey hairs”
“What's wrong Bubs??” your sister ask as you just pushed your nuggets around
“I is no hungwy” you sighed putting your Giraffe-nugget down
“What's bothering you Bits?” Keira reach over moving some hair out of your face secretly checking your temperature since it was highly suspicious that you won't demolish your nuggets
“Why you fifing?” you asked suddenly looking at your sister and her girlfriend
“We're not fighting Bitsy...” the blonde to your right said softly “... we did have an argument... that's not the same thing”
“Why yous awgumenfing?” you asked curious
“What were we arguing again Lucy??” Keira looked at her girlfriend her face blank but her eyes shining in mischief
“Let's eat first” Lucy said quickly pushing your little plate back in front of you
“Bufs I wanna knows” you whined pushing the plate away
“Later Bubs... I promise” your sister sighed knowing she won't get out of talking to you
“Yous pwomise?” you asked sceptically
“I promise” Lucy huffed starting to shovel her dinner in her mouth
“Otay” you shrugged your shoulders biting the Giraffes head off munching loudly
“Good girl” Keira praised you stroking over your hair
“Come on Bubs... bath time” your sister sighed as she lifted you up “Jesus you heavy... next time maybe only one elephant nugget”
“I is no heavy!!!” you exclaimed grumpy
“You don't have to carry yourself” Lucy panted extra loudly as she kicked the bathroom door open “No mess this time okay?”
“You aways makings mess” you sassed back rolling your eyes
“Excuse me little Miss?? YOU always splash water everywhere” your sister exclaimed as she sat you down on the countertop starting to pull your shirt over your head
“You stafing it” you said your voice a little muffled by the shirt
“I certainly don't” Lucy put her hand at her chest looking shocked
“Yef you dos” you nodded convinced by your statement
“KEIRA??!!!” your sister yelled over your shoulder
“WHAT?” the blonde yelled back from the kitchen where she was occupied loading the dishwasher
“Bubs always splashing water but says it's me who starts it... tell her she wrong” Lucy yelled smirking
“I swear if you flood the bathroom AGAIN both of you will sleep on the couch AFTER you cleaned up your mess” Keira said as she entered the bathroom your Pjs in her hand
“No need to get hostile” your sister lifted her hands in defence
“Yeah... no needs fo gefs hofel” you copying your sisters actions lifting your tiny hands
“Hostile Bubs... not hotel” Lucy chuckled seeing how you acted
“Same fing” you shrugged as you let Keira pull your pants of
“Blue, red, yellow or green?” your sister asked holding up the different watercolours
“Bwue” you said in a duh-voice
“Excuse me for asking” Lucy huffed “Maybe you choose something different for once... it's always blue”
“NOOOO” you shrieked as you saw how much colour your sister put in your bathwater
“What no?” your sister looked confused “You said blue... this is blue”
“No muchs bwues!!” you whined “Now ifs chewshift bwue”
“It's what now??” Lucy looked lost
“Chewshift... if foo muchs bwue” you cried out
“Oh Chelsea....” your sister smacked her head in realization
“What did you call it Bits??” Keira looked at you a little bewildered
“Chewshift” you said seriously
“Chelshift?” the blonde now looked at lost as Lucy seconds earlier “It's Chelsea Bitsy”
“Auntie Jill...” you started but Keira quickly interrupted you
“I swear you won't hang out with Jill Scott anymore... that woman corrupts you more than any TV show could...” the blonde grumbled
“Anywhowes...” you started again before now Lucy interrupted you
“Anywhores???” your sister asked just to be sure she heard correctly
“Yeah... that what Auntie Jill...” you started a third time before getting interrupted again
“Anyways Bubs... not anywhores.... ANYWAYS” Lucy groaned
“Fhat's whaf I said” you exclaimed
“Okay....” Keira took a deep breath “... let's calm down and get you into the bath...”
“I no wanna go baf” you pointed at the dark blue water
“It's gonna get lighter the more water we put in...” the blonde said already lifting you off the countertop “... by the time it's finished it'll be City blue”
“I no wanna” you screeched loudly as Keira started you put you down
“Bitsy come on....” Keira said calmly not giving in to your mood “I promise it'll be City blue soon”
“Is cans wait” you said your feet now on the bathtub preventing Keira from getting you into the water
“Not if you want to watch an episode of Frog and Toad after bath” the blonde smirked at your determinacy to not touch Chelsea coloured water
“Ugh fines...” you huffed rolling your eyes making your sister snort “... buf I no doins it by choice”
“I know... I'm mean and always force you to get a bath” Keira chuckled as she finally set you in the warm water
“So means” you grumble sitting in the bathtub your arms crossed over your chest pouting
“You comfy Bubs?” Lucy asked half an hour later as she laid on the couch you half on top of her
“No” you whined starting to wriggle
“What's wrong?” your sister put her arm under your bum trying to help you out by securing your body against hers
“Keiwa” you whined looking over where Keira normally would lie down
“She's coming in a second...” Lucy said softly “... just getting something to drink”
“She faswers” you whine again making Lucy chuckle
“Or you could just learn to have patience” your sister smirked
“Ugh...” you huffed
“You're really huffy puffy tonight...” Lucy pulled you closer against her chest your head on her collarbone
“Yous and Keiwa fifing” you said quietly
“We're not fighting Bubs...” your sister answered just as quietly “... we had an argument yes but that's it.... no fighting”
“But you no kiffef” you said sadly
“We don't always have to kiss Bubs...” Lucy chuckled “... Love is more than just kissing...”
“Whaf Love?” you lifted your head looking at your sister curiously
“Love is a feeling... it feels... like coming home... happy... warm... carefree... light.... soft...” your sister said after a moment “... it's a bond of caring and affection and desire and commitment”
“Fhat complicafed...” you said lost
“You'll get there one day Bubs...” Lucy laughed at your lost look
“What's going on with these deep topics?” Keira asked smiling slightly from her place at the end of the room
“Bubs complained we didn't kiss today” your sister turned her head to look at her girlfriend
“Hm... I wonder why” the blondes mood suddenly changed
“Hey Bubs... I need to tell you something” Lucy said her attention back to you
“If Auntie Jill saids I afe hers choclawe ifs wafn't me” you quickly said making Keira laugh
“No... it's about me” your sister said sitting up moving you to her lap so you were looking at her
“You afe Auntie Jills choclawe?” you asked confused
“No one ate Jills chocolate...” Lucy rolled her eyes “... no... I got an offer from Lyon... a good offer... and I accepted it”
“Oh... Otay” you shrugged your shoulders looking blankly at her
“Bubs that means I'm gonna move to France” your sister clarified
Fhaf's Otay... I'll go packs” you said sliding off her lap toddling down the hallway
“What does she mean she's going to pack?” Lucy looked lost at Keira
“Oh... oh no... no no no” Keira caught on quicker than Lucy “... Luce... she's thinking she's coming with you”
“God no” your sister groaned already standing up “... Bubs...”
“I is weady” you smiled proudly your little backpack by your feet
“No Bubs listen...” Lucy picked you up sitting back on the couch “... I'm moving... you stay here... with Mum and Dad and Keira and all your friends....”
“But...” your lower lip started to wobble and Lucy knew what was coming
“You can't move with me Bubs... you don't even speak French” your sister said quickly
“No Wucy...” you started big tears rolling down your cheeks “... no Bubs”
“God Bubs...” Lucy choked out starting to cry herself pulling you close to her chest while you clinged to her
“Both of you so dramatic” Keira muttered under her breath rolling her eyes
It was about four hours later when Lucy and Keira fell back into the couch you sleeping soundly in the guestroom after Lucy and you basically cried through an episode of Frog and Toad and then your bedtime routine where your sister and Keira read you a story.
“Luce...” Keira started softly watching how her girlfriend furiously wiped away some tears
“Imma be okay in a second” your sister sniffed rubbing over her eyes again
“Babe... you're moving to France... not Mexico” the blonde said gently taking it upon herself to wipe some tears away with her thumb
“I just never... we never were apart” Lucy choked out “... I never thought it's gonna be that hard”
“You know I'm still here right...” Keira tried to comfort her girlfriend as good as she could “... you know I'll look after her... and there's FaceTime and we have weekends off where I can take her to France or you come here...”
“I know all of that... I do... and you can't imagen how grateful I am that you are here...” your sister said quietly “... but she looked so scared... like I'll leave her for good you know... and I'm scared too... I know Mum and Dad are here... and you... and all her friends... I mean that godforsaken unmannered kid she always hangs out with... what's her face...”
“Gillian” the blonde threw in a slight smile on her lips
“... yeah her... I mean which kid says “yuck” to hot chocolate with marshmallows??” Lucy looked outraged
“You're getting off track again...” Keira smirked
“Yeah... sorry... we never were this far apart... I mean she was too tiny to remember me going to the States but now... now she remembers... she'll hate me for leaving her” your sister rambled
“That's absolute bullshit Luce...” the blonde shook her head “... will it be hard on both of you? Yes absolutely... but she won't hate you because you took a big opportunity to get further in your career... Lyon is an amazing chance and I know you'll shine over there with the frog legs... and she'll be okay as well... I promise you I personally make sure she sees every game and every Friday night we keep our routine – you just have to watch through a screen”
“I don't know what I did to deserve you” Lucy looked at her girlfriend like she hung the stars herself
“You did look pretty decent in your trainers and that Dominos shirt...” the blonde teased
“I ROCKED that shirt okay....” your sister huffed but Keira could see the twinkle in her eyes
“Can we just go back to serious topic for a second?” Keira asked having one more point to discuss
“How serious?” Lucy asked carefully
“I don't think it's a good idea to bring Bitsy to the airport next weekend...” the blonde said slowly testing the waters
“Why?” your sister looked confused
“You saw how she reacted here.... at home... where she feels safe and loved...” Keira said “... at the Airport she probably will lose it”
“I can't leave without saying goodbye to her” Luce shook her head
“That's not what I'm saying...” the blonde interrupted calmly “... I'm saying say goodbye here at home... keep our routine on Fridays bring her back to your parents Saturday around lunch like always and then I'll drop you off at the airport”
“I... I don't know Kei...” Lucy started chewing on her lower lip and Keira had to smile about the similarity to how you acted when you thought really hard about something
“Think about it okay... for me... please” Keira kept her voice soft
“Yeah okay... I'll think about it” your sister agreed but in secret her and Keira already knew the answer
Of course you demanded coming to the airport. Of course Lucy bend to every wish you voiced. You promised to be on your best behaviour. Of course you weren't. Or well... you were. You were just absolutely overwhelmed. That's how Keira found herself in the current situation. Her arms around your midsection pulling you backwards while you were holding onto Lucys belt loops for dear life wailing your eyes out. Lucy tried to let you to let go but no use. For a three-year-old you certainly were strong. Something Lucy would gloat in when it wasn't time for her to board the plane to a new chapter of her football life.
“Bitsy...” Keira grunted pulling on your little body continually
“Wucyyyyyy” you cried loudly and the blonde could see in the corner of her eyes who bystanders already starting to look over
“Bitsy let go.. now” the blonde said strictly “... you could help you know”
“I'm trying” Lucy said prying your little finger open but every time she had one away from her belt loop and went to pry the other open you closed the first one again quickly
“THAT'S why I said to not take her” Keira snapped at Lucy taking a little break from trying to separate you from your sister
“I didn't know it would be that bad” your sister said as she lifted you up your shaking form immediately sinking against her your tear struck and snotty face pressing into her neck
“I TOLD you...” the blonde said accusatory
“Bubs listen...” Lucy started knowing she had to do something soon otherwise she would miss her flight and Keira would rip her a new one telling her over and over again that she was right “... listen my baby... I promise I'll be back before you know it okay... next Friday Kei will pick you up and we'll eat dinner together and watch Frog and Toad and I'll read to you okay... but you need to let go now and go with Keira”
“Noooooooo” you started wailing again grabbing your sisters shirt tighter
“Lucy... they called your name two times already...” Keira said after she took a deep breath knowing there would be no use in getting angry other then you getting even more upset “... lose the shirt if you have to... but do something”
“You want me to get on a plane half naked??” your sister looked shocked at her girlfriend
“At the moment she's clinging to your shirt... so lose the shirt if it means we get her off you” the blonde grumbled
“Bubs... you need to let go...” Lucy said this time more firmly
“Nooooo” you wailed against her neck successfully covering your sister with your snot
“Yes... come on... you know Keira is a good pillow too... you always hog her on Friday nights” your sister said softly pushing you away slightly making room so Keira could grab onto your little body again
“Nooooo leavins me...” you cried heartbreakingly
“I'm not leaving you Bubs...” Lucy said gently “... I'm just going on holiday okay... and the first chance I get I'm coming back home and show you lots and lots of pictures and I'll bring you my first Jersey and some chocolate... they have good chocolate in France”
“No wants” you kept on crying and finally Keiras last nerve snapped
“Okay... nice isn't working...” the blonde stated now surprising you by quickly pulling backwards basically ripping you away from Lucy
“NOOOOO” you screeched your little hands trying to get a hold on Lucy somehow your little feet kicking in the air
“Go...” Keira said through gritted teeth holding onto your wriggling form “... Luce I swear to god... GO”
Lucy looked so divided if she really should go seeing how you struggled against Keiras hold how upset you were.
“Lucy...” the blonde snapped “... GO for god sakes!!”
She knew it wasn't the goodbye she wanted for the three of you – but Lucy did what her girlfriend said and just turned on her heels walking towards the Gate biting her lower lip hard so she wouldn't start crying hearing your screaming for her to come back.
Keira on the other hand now had the mission to get you out of the airport and into the car without letting go otherwise you'd be lose in a confined space full of strangers. Turns out she'd get “help”. Just as she was about to leave the airport with you still screaming and kicking in her arms she got held up by police
“Is there a problem?” one of the officers asked mustering you
“No Sir... She's just upset” Keira answered slightly out of breath
“You drew quiet the attention....” the other officer said eying you carefully “... we had several reports... you mind coming with us so we can clear the situation up?”
“What situation?” the blonde asked confused
“You've been reported to forcefully taking this child...” the first officer responded while the other positioned himself better in case Keira tried to run – which she obviously had no intention to
“I've... what??” the blonde asked in disbelieve
“Shes toooooks me fwom me Wucyyyyy...” you cried loudly
“Bitsy...” Keira warned you
“Just come with us Ma'am...” the first officer said and that's how Keira found herself sitting the whole afternoon sitting in a police station getting questioned about a possible Kidnapping.
“Hey...” Lucys voice came through the phone sounding tired
“Hey” Keira said back shortly
“Is Bubs okay? She still upset?” your sister asked
“Fine” the blonde said curtly
“Oh thank god....” Lucy sighed in relieve “... I felt so guilty leaving like this”
“Hm...” Keira just hummed
“Babe are you okay? Are you mad?” your sister asked carefully
“Did you do anything I could be mad about?” the blonde asked back trying to hold in her temper
“Ehrm... no??” Lucy said after a second thinking about what she could have done to upset Keira
“Then I'm not mad” Keira answered but Lucy could hear that something wasn't quiet right
“Oh... okay... well... you were kinda weird” your sister stammered even through text “... can you maybe send me a picture of Bubs... and you... I'll miss you two like crazy already”
“Will do” the blonde said and then just hung up
“She really thinks I'm not mad....” Keira texted her best friend
“How can a grown up woman be so thick??” Leah texted back immediately
“If she contacts you...” the blonde left the answer open
“... I won't give her a tip... other than to use her one living brain cell for an instance” the London based player texted back
“Love you Lee...” Keira chuckled as she hit send
“... more than anyone in the world” Leah ended the conversation
“Hey Leah...” it didn't take Lucy as long as Leah thought to contact her
“Bronze” the blonde Arsenal player wrote back
“Did you by chance talk to Kei?” your sister asked and Leah could see the conflicted face in front of her inner eye
“Possibly” Leah texted back
“She said she's not mad... but she... was kinda weird earlier” Lucys text came in quickly
“Hm... maybe use that one brain cell you have left and THINK” the blonde answered
“I did... I seriously don't know why she could be “not mad”....” your sister explained
“She IS mad you daft woman... apologize!!” Leah lost her last nerve with the obviousness
“What for? She said she ain't mad” Lucy was so lost
“Hm... let ME think for a second....” Leah send the first part quickly before she continued typing “... she sat you down talking about how it would be a better idea to leave poppy at home seeing how attached she is to you instead you INSISTED taking her to the airport... she caused a scene as expected and Keira... lovely Keira that puts up with so much shit... was stopped by Police then taken to the station and questioned the whole afternoon because they thought she KIDNAPPED your sister... and ON TOP OF ALL THAT she didn't even got the chance to say goodbye to her GIRLFRIEND properly how she imagined... no kiss goodbye.. no promise to see each other soon... I wonder why she could be mad”
“Oh....” was the only response she got
“OH??!!! OOOOOHHHH????!!!” Leah now yelled down the phone after she called Lucy at this response “That's all you got??? OH?!”
“I mean...” Lucy now stuttered “... Bubs was very upset...”
“Okay listen you... I'm not gonna say what comes to mind because Keira loves you... but maybe... JUST MAYBE... LISTEN TO YOUR GIRLFRIEND IN THE FIRST PLACE???!!!” Leah now outright screamed down the line “Maybe you should've had the sad goodbye at home like she suggested and then it would've been just you and Kei at the Airport and you could've had the goodbye she deserves. Rather then leaving her to parent your absolute going ballistic little sister, you could've left space for her to actually feel things about her girlfriend moving countries... with very little notice I might add”
“I fucked up didn't I?” your sister asked and Leah could hear the guilt in Lucys voice
“Big Time... you fucked up big time” the blonde said but her voice turning a little softer
“Could you maybe.... tell her to answer my call? Please...” Lucy sheepishly
“I can tell her... if she does answer... I can't tell” Leah answers “... but I only do that for her... to be clear”
“Thank you Leah....” your sister mumbled ashamed
“I just do it because she loves you Bronze...” the blonde grumbled back
“Yes?” Keira answered Lucys call more than icy
“I'm sorry Kei...” your sister immediately apologized “... I'm sorry for how the afternoon went... and that you didn't get the goodbye you deserve... I'm sorry I didn't listen to you when you said to leave Bubs at home... and I'm sorry for not talking to you about Lyon and just push accomplished facts on you...”
“Anything else?” the blonde wasn't going to give up that easy even if she already forgave her girlfriend
“I'm... sorry....” Lucy said slowly thinking about anything else she should be sorry about “... for being an ass?”
“Hm... that pin points it pretty well” Keira hummed
“I'll fly you out to Lyon next weekend... just you and me.. and we just... have a goodbye do-over... in France... you know... all romantic...” your sister said quickly trying to get in her girlfriends good books again “.. I can ask the team for good food... even tho... it's still French... so... but they apparently do good steaks here...”
“Luce...” the blonde interrupted her girlfriend gently “... we both have games next weekend...”
“Then straight after the game...” Lucy really tried to fix her fuck up
“Babe...” Keira sighed “.... it's not about the when... I just need to know you'll be there... I need to know you don't find an attractive French girl and I'm sitting here... I need to know you'll work on it to make it work... I love you... but I need to know you're with me on that”
“Kei... I love you more than anything in the world...” your sister started
“Liar” the blonde snorted “.... there's this three year old that nearly got me into prison”
“I love you more than anything in the world... I love you just as much as Bubs... I can't and don't want to imagen a world without you in it by me side...” Lucy just ignored the comment partly out of embarrassment “... so Keira Fae Walsh... will you please come to France the first chance we get?”
“You really know how to charm someone don't you?” Keira chuckled
“Just the two of us...” your sister said her voice dropping a little bit “... I've got a nice apartment with a brand new bed...”
“I hope it's still brand new when I come visit...” the blonde teased and Lucy knew she was forgiven
“I promise I'll sleep on the couch the whole time....” Lucy smirked on the other end of the line
“You better not be all talk Bronzey.... I want to be woo-ed... I earned it” Keira threatened lightheartly
“So.... Your game finishes at around half nine right?” Lucy checked her phone trapped between her ear and shoulder
“Yeah... but Luce I won't make it to the airport that night... not in a million years...” Keira said checking on you one last time before walking down the hallway towards her bedroom
“I know... I'm looking for flights on Sunday....” your sister mumbled typing away quickly “... there's one going out at 8.50... you can leave Bubs at me parents right after the game... she be grumpy because after game nights are normally reserved for us but we can miss it once right?”
“Fif Wucy?” you suddenly appeared in the doorway rubbing your eye with your fist your teddy bear clutched tightly in your other hand
“Damnit” the blonde swore under her breath “... Bitsy... why are you up? You should sleep... it's late”
“No wanna sleeps alones” you mumbled tiredly
“This is why we text... you're banned from calling me” Keira mumbled and Lucy knew it was directed at her already scooting over in the big bed “... come here Bits”
“Even from the good calls?” Lucy asked and the blonde could hear how smug her girlfriend was
“Yes... even those kinda calls” the blonde said firmly as you got comfortable against her sighing heavy
“Wha... but... wait... no!” your sister exclaimed shocked
“Luce... as soon as she hears your voice she's up like an arrow... case in point laying next to me... YOU wanna explain to her what's happening?” Keira raised her eyebrow even tho Lucy couldn't see it as you rubbed your nose into Keiras shirt
“She's too young to know what's happening... she's a baby” Lucy said quickly
“No Luce...” the blonde rolled her eyes
“She won't understand...” your sister tried again
“Maybe she won't understand what's happening but she's a bloody parrot when it comes to repeating things and she'll definitely say something to someone that will understand” Keira huffed getting more comfortable with you pulling you up a bit so your head was on her shoulder
“Whose a pawwot?” you asked confused and sleepy “Yous can't call someone a pawwot Keiwa... dafs nofs nice”
“No one's a parrot Bitsy...” the blonde said noticing how you started to wake up a little bit “... Lucy is a daft goldfish sometimes”
“Faf's twue... Keiwa if wight... Wucy daft gowdfish” you nodded seriously
“Oy!!!” Lucy exclaimed “You are a daft goldfish”
“You daft gowdfish” you shot back immediately
“Bubs... that's not nice” your sister scolded you
“Yous nofs nice... you daft” you nodded again once proving your point
“You got pretty cheeky since I'm gone...” Lucy huffed
“You miss her like crazy” Keira chuckled at the interaction between her Bronzes
“Not as much as you... can't wait to see you” your sister said softly and you perked up immediately
“Yous sees Keiwa?” you asked getting fired up
“Yes... soon” your sister confirmed
“Says bye bye to Keiwa...” you said now wide awake making Keira groan “... we needs to packs”
“Bubs... my love...” your sister started carefully knowing how this will go “... you can't come... It's Lucy and Keira time”
“Bufs....” you stuttered your lower lip already wobbling
“Bitsy...” the blonde said softly trying to calm you down
“Bubs listen... I promise the next time you come and we make a Lucy and Bubs weekend okay...” Lucy quickly tried to defuse the situation but it was no use as you started crying
“Luce...” Keira sighed knowing there's no use “... you know how this will end... No Bubs.. no Keiwa”
“You literally nearly broke up with me because we didn't have OUR goodbye and now you want to bring her with you???” your sister asked bewildered
“You weally awe daft gowdfish” you stated sassily having a slight hick up
Keira just listened to the two of you bickering smiling slightly until she felt you getting heavy against her again a dead give away that you were about to fall asleep again
“Keep talking Lucy....” the blonde said her voice low “... she's nearly out again”
Lucy just talked about anything she saw in France and that the food was good but not good good more okay good
“She's out...” Keira smiled down at you listening you your heavy breathing your mouth slightly open
“So... about that flight....” Lucy said her voice gently not to wake you up again
“I IS READY” you shot up again
“Well done Luce... well done” the blonde deadpanned “... not today Bitsy... sleep Baby...”
“Bufs....” you said confused
“Eight more sleeps...” Keira said softly coaxing you back down against her “... then we'll go to see Lucy...”
“Otay...” you sighed heavy already starting to drift off to sleep again
“Now Lucia... if you bring that f-l-i-g-h-t up once again I WILL personally be the reason you'll be hot and bothered until the season is over” the blonde grumbled
“But...” your sister stuttered “... the season just started”
Next morning Lucy woke up to a screenshot of two tickets to Lyon which resulted in her falling back into the pillows groaning loudly before smiling
“What did I ever do to deserve Keira Walsh?” Lucy smiled to herself before a text came in
“I better get a proper goodbye this time”

Once Upon a Time In Hatchetfield Mashup AU Master Post
Okay chat, since I’m intending to be posting more about my Once Upon A Time x Hatchetfield Mashup AU and writing more of it because to be honest, I love it so much :)))
So, loose plot of Once Upon a Time is that the Evil Queen, Regina, cast a Dark Curse™️ on the Enchanted Forest (AKA fairytale land), sending everyone to the real world, where they have no memories of who they really are. 28 frozen in time years later, bailbondsperson Emma Swan is found on her 28th birthday by Mayor Regina Mills’ adopted son, Henry, who’s biologically Emma’s.
They go to Storybrooke, Maine, and Henry tells Emma about the curse and the fact that she is the daughter of Snow White and Prince Charming, who sent her in a magical wardrobe to be free of the curse so she could stop it as prophesied by Rumplestiltskin, a dark wizard known as the Dark One.
Season One loosely follows a fairytale of the week format while furthering the overarching plots of both the Enchanted Forest and Storybrooke.
So I decided to mash it up with Hatchetfield just to see what happens :))) It’s so awesome I love it :))
Cast list (just the most plot relevant in season 1/cool casting):

There’s a new trailker for World on Fire, the Masterpiece war drama from The A Word’s Peter Bowker that bows Sunday, October 15, on PBS.
The series looks at World War II through the eyes of ordinary people from all sides of the conflict. The new seven-episode season will follow the first year of the war, starting with the German invasion of Poland in September 1939 and ending with the Battle of Britain.
The cast includes Lesley Manville (The Crown), Jonah Hauer-King (The Little Mermaid), Ahad Raza Mir (Resident Evil), Mark Bonnar (Guilt) and Gregg Sulkin (Runaways).
In 2019, PBS joined the BBC for a second season of the drama that starred Helen Hunt as a war correspondent. Season 2 has already dropped in the U.K, where viewers have noticed the absence of Hunt, as well as Sean Bean, Arthur Darvill and Brian J. Smith — due to a combination of scheduling issues and further storylines for their character. Work on the second season coincided with the pandemic.
Bowker posted this season 2 tease on the PBS website: “In Season 2, Kasia and Lois will meet, and the fallout from that, I think for everybody, will be interesting and fascinating. Season 2 will start, historically, with the blitz in the Northwest of England. And North Africa will be very much the field of battle. We’ll find out more about Webster’s family history. Nancy will finally have to leave Berlin near the start of the series, for crossing a line, and we will also find out more about Nancy. And she will carry on. She will definitely be in the Soviet Union for some of it. So yeah, that’s the shape it’s taking. And Lois, of course, trapped in a rather Brontë-esque, loveless marriage with Vernon.”
World On Fire was developed by Mammoth’s Creative Director Rebecca Keane and executive produced by Bowker, Damien Timmer, and Helen Ziegler for Mammoth Screen, Lucy Richer for the BBC, and Rebecca Eaton for Masterpiece. The Series Producer is Chris Clough. Adam Smith (Trespass Against Us) is directing episodes one and two, Thomas Napper (Jawbone) is directing episode three, Chanya Button (Burn Burn Burn) is directing episodes five and six, and Andy Wilson (Unforgotten) is directing episodes four and seven.

Full story under the break:
By Ralph Blumenthal
Dec. 18, 2017
Our readers are plenty interested in unidentified flying objects. We know that from the huge response to our front-page Sunday article (published online just after noon on Saturday) revealing a secret Pentagon program to investigate U.F.O.s. The piece, by the Pentagon correspondent Helene Cooper, the author Leslie Kean and myself — a contributor to The Times after a 45-year staff career — has dominated the most emailed and most viewed lists since.
So how does a story on U.F.O.s get into The New York Times? Not easily, and only after a great deal of vetting, I assure you.
The journey began two and a half months ago with a tip to Leslie, who has long reported on U.F.O.s and published a 2010 New York Times best seller, “UFOs: Generals, Pilots and Government Officials Go on the Record.” At a confidential meeting Oct. 4 in a Pentagon City hotel with several present and former intelligence officials and a defense contractor, she met Luis Elizondo, the director of a Pentagon program she had never heard of: the Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program.
She learned it was a secret effort, funded at the initiative of the then Senate majority leader, Harry Reid, starting in 2007, to investigate aerial threats including what the military preferred to call “unidentified aerial phenomena” or just “objects.” This was big news because the United States military had announced as far back as 1969 that U.F.O.s were not worth studying. Leslie also learned that Mr. Elizondo had just resigned to protest what he characterized as excessive secrecy and internal opposition — the reason for the meeting.
She spent hours with him reviewing unclassified documents, for the $22 million program operated largely “in the white” (that is, not under special restricted access), but hidden in the huge defense budget, with only parts of it classified. A few days later Mr. Elizondo and others there — including Harold E. Puthoff, an engineer who has conducted research on extrasensory perception for the C.I.A. and later worked as a contractor on the program, and Christopher K. Mellon, a former deputy assistant secretary of defense for intelligence — announced they were joining a new commercial venture, To the Stars Academy of Arts and Science, to raise money for research into U.F.O.s. Leslie wrote it up for the Huffington Post with scant details of the program.
I had known Leslie for years, and she told me this looked like a story for The Times. I agreed. Leslie and I met with Mr. Elizondo in Philadelphia on Oct. 31. Three days later, I emailed the executive editor, Dean Baquet, about “a sensational and highly confidential time-sensitive story” that I said “involves a senior U.S. intelligence official who abruptly quit last month” exposing “a deeply secret program, long mythologized but now confirmed.”
He alerted Mark Mazzetti, the investigations editor in the Washington bureau. Leslie and I briefed him in New York on Nov. 7. We assured him there were no anonymous sources; everyone was on the record. After discussions in Washington and New York, Helene joined our team. The Washington bureau chief, Elisabeth Bumiller, would be our editor. On Nov. 17, we three met Mr. Elizondo in a nondescript Washington hotel where he sat with his back to the wall, keeping an eye on the door.
Carl Hulse, The Times’s chief Washington correspondent, was well acquainted with Mr. Reid and helped arrange an interview for Helene. She flew to Las Vegas on Dec. 5 and met with the former senator, who confirmed the program with details, saying, “I’m not embarrassed or ashamed or sorry I got this going.”
Leslie interviewed the aerospace magnate Robert Bigelow, who also confirmed his participation, saying Americans were being held back from serious research into U.F.O.’s by “a juvenile taboo.” And I interviewed a prominent skeptic for perspective.
It was important that we not take anything on faith. This field attracts zealots as well as debunkers, and many Americans remain deeply skeptical that the phenomenon exists as popularly portrayed. In draft after draft, we took pains to let the investigation speak for itself, without bias.
Helene met with a Pentagon spokesperson on Dec. 8 for a response to the information we had gathered. The answer came swiftly. There had been a program to investigate U.F.O.s, but it ended in 2012 after five years, the Defense Department insisted.
Our reporting suggested it continues, largely unfunded, to the present. And that’s what we wrote.

TRI 1-2000 word essay
Updated: Dec 3, 2022
Max Fleischer and his animation style
Most people have watched or seen clips to do with 1930s animation like Betty boop. Betty boop was a popular series in the 1930s with the main character Betty Boop who was always featured in all the 90 cartoons for 9 years. The series is a jazz era flapper who is appeared in the roll of Snow White, who’s evil stepmother orders her to be killed by the recurring Betty boop characters, Koko and Bimbo. Betty was first featured in the first series, Dizzy Dishes in 1930. Through the creator of Betty boop. Max Fleischer, told his artists he wanted a caricature of the singer Helen Kane. Unfortunately Clara Bow was the one often given credit for inspiration. Keane sued Fleischer for using her signature “Boop-a-Doop” line. It’s unfortunate that Betty boop was seen in animation as a “sexual” woman who regularly wore a short dress, high heels and a garter belt and was seen as an “object of affection” to many men. Her cartoons were often considered to be risqué and very heavy on the sexual innuendos. But towards the end, the animators toned down her appearance. She was reinvented as and husband less housewife, her backless dress was replaced with a much longer dress with sleeves and a collar, her garter belt was never seen again and from then, Betty was portrayed as a schoolteacher, secretary and babysitter and was not much a nightclub singer.
Tumblr media
The creator of Betty boop was an American animator, Max Fleischer who was head and founder of Fleischer studios along with his brother, Dave Fleischer. They brought other characters along with Betty, such as Popeye, Koko the clown and Superman. Fleischer’s Koko the clown who was merely the guinea pig who was meant to demonstrate an invention called the rotoscope, Which enabled an artist to trace the movements of an actual person frame by frame. The results were “incredibly lifelike” animation because it was akin from real life. The Fleischer studios were the first to use sound before any other company in the animation business. Fleischer also used the rotoscope which he invented which was a method to get smoother animation. When people think of animated cartoons, Walt Disney is the first to come in mind for most people. But there was a time where Max Fleischer was just as or even more famous than Walt Disney. Max Fleischer has been called “the unsung hero of animation” for his artistic and technical innovations with cinema. It was actually shown that the character Betty boop was an anthropomorphic canine character who sang, danced and wagged her dog ears. A year later, she became a fully human female animated character, with her big ears transitioning as big hoop earrings. Unlike the other female characters during her time such as Minnie Mouse and Olive Oyl, Betty was not a supporting role, she was a strong female character in her own right. The cartoon of Betty boop illustrates some human features which are sometimes labelled as “neotenus” such as the large head, short arms and legs, relative to total height and “clumsy child-like features”
Tumblr media
Fleischer has the same animation style that he has used in all his animations. This style is known as The Rubber hose style which is has inspired my art work and style, rubber hose animation was first ever animation to be standardised in the American field. The defining feature is the curving motion most things possess, resembling that of a rubber hose. While the style fell out of fashion in the 1930s, there has been a revitalisation of it in the recent years. With works such as the famous video game, Cuphead, Bendy and the ink machine and in the movie of Steven Universe. Felix the cat was the first ever character-driven series of animated cartoons, began as Feline Follies in 1919 becoming very popular in the 1920s. The Felix cartoons faltered financially in the 1930s because of poor economic times but also because of legal ownership rights. But Felix the cat did come back in fashion and is featured on a variety of merchandise from clothes to toys. Other recent cartoon shows that show the use of this style is Mickey Mouse and even today, still has that rubber hose effect with the use of Toon Boom and Flash Animation. Even in the show Pingu, has techniques incorporated in its animation such as having characters have all their upper body stretch to reach up or roll into a ball. Sonic the Hedgehog also had rubber limbs, especially in the games in the 90s. An example of his rubber hose limbs is evident in his trademark pose with one hand on his hip, a waving finger and crossed legs seen on the art box of the original game and uses some exaggerated running poses. Because rubber hose has made a leap from newspaper to comic strips. They share a visual identity. Think heavy of use of black inks on white backgrounds and exaggerated facial expressions. As the comics with the animation that defining characteristic was added, flailing rubber hose limbs without joints. Other features of characters included in ink blot cartoons include white gloves, purely so animations could decipher characters hand movements in front of their black bodies. Most of these character had black noses and and pie eyes with one part sliced out. The arms and legs are the most important in rubber hose as they accentuate character movement and emotion. Wether its in a human or animal.
The characters would bounce around mostly in time to a Jazz soundtrack. This genre of music was extremely popular in the 1930s and originated in the African-American communities of New Orleans, Louisiana in the late 19th and early 20th century. Since the Jazz age, it has been recognised as a major form of musical expression in traditional and popular music. It’s characterised by swing and blue notes. Jazz has roots in European harmony and African rhythmic rituals. One of the most influential in this genre was Louis Armstrong with his career spanning 5 decades and several eras in the history of Jazz.
Now going back to the way rubber animation is shown is each deliberate movement is expressed in the squash and stretch principle. Oswald the rabbit trying to stay on a horse is a good example with the various “bow-legged bandy” movements. The rubber hose style brought out but necessity allowed more creativity. Animations took full advantage of the “freedom is allowed” and animated with the mindset of that in a cartoon, anything is possible. Another aspect of rubber hose animation is its reference to dark subject matter so many memorable cartoons at that time were characterised by how they portrayed mortality. Even some studios like Disney had no problem getting involved with cartoons that showcased hell, giving “surreal, creepy borderline terrifying” imagery after all, the rubber hose animation is roosted in the great depression and looking at the setting and the backgrounds makes this very apparent and without any censorship, animators were able to spill out on a page exactly how they felt. I like the fact that rubber hose animation has come back in fashion because when it comes to character art, I like seeing the exaggeration and different facial expressions on a character. Many artists that I follow have a similar art style to mine from the use of colour to the link of rubber hose style.
Many of those artists are inspired by Studio MDHR’s Cuphead. The game Cuphead plays beautiful homage to the cartoons from the 1920’s to 1940’s in such a “convincing” and “painstakingly sincere” style that almost convinces people that it was something taken straight out from that era. From the colour to the dust and scratches on the screen. The reason why it looks so authentic is because all of the designers used traditional animation techniques to achieve the style. The characters were all drawn on traditional work stations and Avon separate pieces of paper using the early animation technique. However, the way Studio MDHR transferred their drawings onto screen was different. They would scan all of the drawings one by one and cleaned them up then coloured them digitally. The clearest influence for Cuphead has always been Max Fleischer’s artworks and animations which means the characters are always going to be moving in some way. Even when still.

Cartoons from the 1930s to 1940s reflected their conflict between humans and the natural world. Perhaps as a reaction to World War II. However, superheroes like Superman, fought natural elements and won. This is suggesting that the World War has just as much of an impact on cartoons as Hollywood films such as Film Noir and Screwball comedies. The Superman series also by Max Fleischer, from this period, seems to reflect the impact most visibly. In this series, everyone seems to place Superman as superior to the elements of the natural world. In the opening to most cartoon shows from then to now, Superman masters lightning and other elements. In one of the episodes, Superman stops a volcanic eruption to save Lois Lane and the rest of the town members. “Superman always comes out victorious, an argument in favour of our allies own victory over the Germans.” Norman Klein says. From 1942 to the end of the war, half the cartoons produced were war related and that some studios for a time the proportions ran as high as 70%. The war provided the industrial background modernist in which technology and humans “triumph over nature”.
Cartoons from the 1930’s were ushered in by major political and economic crisis that were the remains of the World War I. However, there has been many cartoons that have been called out and even cancelled for racism. Even though they were made decades ago, people are still finding them today and calling them out for it. Some of these cartoons brainwashed children from a young age and taught them how to basically not accept other races and to not get along. These were mainly cartoons from the Golden age. Some of these racist cartoons included hate towards Japanese and Germans because of the war. But most of the cartoons were hate directed at black people. These characters in the show looked like blackface minstrels for a reason. Minstrel shows fundamentally shaped the history and language of animation. The live minstrel shows started in the early 19th century in America, where white people would blackface by using makeup and pretended to be caricatures of black slaves. These shows lasted till the late 20th century believe it or not. It’s shocking to me that it lasted that long. Many of the “minstrel” characters had black bodies and faces with big white lips and eyes. Now that times have changed, many cartoons include characters from all races to show kids that everyone should be treated equal and with respect no matter where they come from or what their background is.

Overall, I am still inspired by Max Fleischer and the rubber hose art style. I have been inspired since college and even made an animation in the rubber hose art style for one of my projects. This style has been an inspiration for many other artists and films and I also like the fact that this style is slowly coming back into fashion along with 2D animation since the release of the game Cuphead.

We will Mett Again - The Album
We Will Meet Again is an album by jazz pianist Bill Evans made for Warner Bros. Records in 1979. It is notable in that it is Evans's last studio recording. After the suicide of Bill Evans' older brother, Harry, earlier in 1979, Bill made this album with his brother in mind, "We Will Meet Again" is addressed to Harry. Just after Harry's suicide, Bill Evans started a relationship with a Canadian waitress called Laurie Verchomin, the track "Laurie" is named after her. Laurie eventually took care of Bill Evans until his death, she was the last person he saw before he died.
