Do i even need to explain? HE COMMITED TAX FRAUD IN BOOK ONE. Okay maybe it was an accident, but he still did it and i fully believe my boy is capable of doing it again and probably will if given the chance.

a close second, Biana Vacker

She probably helps dex out with committing his second round of tax fraud. If not, she makes him help her commit tax fraud with her womanly powers.

Third, Tam Song

Tam is 100% capable of committing tax fraud. Will he? I don’t doubt it. He’s very smart, and if he can’t get anyone to help him with committing the crime, he’s capable of doing it himself.

Would help these kids with their robbery with no hesitation, maybe even encourages them.

Fourth, Marella Redek

We’ve seen her personality, right? There’s no way she couldn’t figure out how to do it and then not try.

She probably just helps out Marella or Tam. Or maybe Dex. She’d never do it on her own, but she’d help someone and probably be the getaway driver.

She isn’t that likely to do it, but if given the chance she’d consider it and do it if she was having a bad day.

Seventh, Fitz Vacker

I think he would get real angry and want to commit tax fraud. If he’s lucky, Linh will be there to help out. Other than that, he’s too mature and responsible to commit a crime without Sophie doing it first.

Eighth, Maruca Chebota

Very unlikely. However if she friends did it she’d follow along to see how it ends, helping out a little if she’s feeling it.

Nineth, Keefe Sencen

Surprisingly, he’s low on the list. Based off of him stealing Giselas jewelry in stellarlune and selling it, I don’t think he’d have a reason to commit tax fraud. He might if he absolutely needed to though.

Tenth, Sophie Foster

She’s the protagonist, the main character, the hot-shot. I have faith in my lovely miss Foster aka the current loml, and I fully and firmly believe she wouldn’t commit tax fraud. Unless she had no other possible choice and had literally nothing else to do.

Eleventh, Jensi Babblos

He’d never commit a crime of any sort. Even if he was on the brink of death, he wouldn’t commit tax fraud. He’d rather die than do that.

Last, but certainly not least, Wylie Endal

He wouldn’t even think about doing it, he’s tired of the groups shit. Its highly unlikely he’d even be in a situation where he had to commit tax fraud, he’s 24 and already too old for these shenanigans and schemes.

“Isn’t that cultural appropriation?” Hector asked, raising his eyebrow at Melanie, who, again was in my tent. I understand that she is always around Podium since her job is to be sure no one will die in a cave-in but does she truly have that much free time to come here every day?

“There is no issue; Sandra is just learning the protection chants. Everyone has the right to safety.” She answered. She was explaining to Sandra where she was making mistakes in the moves before sitting on the floor specifically; something about being polite to spirits so they won’t hurt you for no reason.

“If everyone here does it to be safe I’ll do it too!” Sandra said, glaring at Hector. “I cherish my life.”

“I don’t think everyone who agreed to stay in this project cherishes their life,” I protested, glancing at the clock, as soon it was work time I would send Melanie away.

“I cherish my soul?” Sandra shrugged.

“Aren’t Hek said to affect people’s physical being rather than the spiritual one in Viné?” June asked without glancing up from the mess of paper he had accidentally dropped just before. “Like making people trip or something?”

“That’s right,” Melanie nodded, “Some are more violent but they mostly just play pranks. Are you interested in Portia’s tribes?”

“Tina is,” June explained. “She is in charge of identifying any Portia-related signs in Podium.”

“Hello everyone!” Tina said loudly as she entered the tent. Her eyes fell on Melanie. “Hello Melanie, I see you are here once again.”

“Speaking of the devil,” Lucas murmured under his breath.

“Good morning, Tina,” Malanie said with a slight bow. “I was rejected again today, I’m sticking here to teach Sandra some Viné things.”

“If this keeps going she’ll get a Viné tattoo,” Lucas said.

“That would be cultural appropriation,” Sandra said, glancing at the spiral on Malaine’s neck. “I’m just being polite to the spirits so they won’t hurt me.”

“People usually are polite out of politeness rather than out of fear Sandra,” Tina said with a smirk. “Hek like to play with the scared ones.”

Melanie laughed. “Well… I mean, it’s true but you shouldn’t say it.”

“Wait! This is true!?” Sandra shouted, trying to read the lie on Melanie’s face. “Or are you two playing me?”

“Hek are is known for being quite… playful, but maybe they will leave you alone if you are polite?”

Sandra didn’t seem at all comforted by the guess.

“Stop being scared and they’ll, maybe, leave you alone?” Igor tried.

“I think we should just leave them alone,” Livia André, one of my newest students, whispered too loudly. She was quite shy, and apart from Igor, she doesn’t seem to be getting closer to anyone.

“Don’t worry Livia, most of us don’t bite,” June jested. “And the ones who do ask for permission first.”

“This… this oddly calms me down for some reason?” she frowned. “I’m weird too, am I not?”

“Well, time is up everyone, Melanie time to go,” I said, clapping my hands to draw everyone's attention. “Get to your sits so I can explain today’s changes on schedule.”

“Cloud is not here yet,” Igor commented.

“They are on sick leave. Now let’s get to work.”

The work was as boring as the previous days, the copying was annoying, and just my belief that knowledge shouldn’t be lost and that replicates are important was keeping me going. The changes were mostly in who was working with what and when.

“The engineers should invent some sort of copy machine,” Tina whined.

“Print machines are a thing that exists,” June said.

“No, print machines need someone to make a copy so it can be replicated. I’m talking about something that makes a painting of a book, and then prints said painting down on a paper.”

“That’s impossible, Tina,” Igor said with a smile. “But it’s a creative idea.”

“A girl can dream.”

“If you are lucky you can copy a book-coping magic book,” Lucas joked. “Not that you would be able to understand it anyway.”

“The implications of that would be amazing, though,” I started, “I’m just picturing this guy, centuries back, trying to convince his fellow colleagues to try making a book copying magic like, “I know we can starve children to death if we play with fate, but think of the books!””

“Sound like the kind of lunatic that would build Podium out of a random cave,” Igor laughed.

“Out of a mountain,” Sandra corrected, “We can’t be sure but at the moment there is no sign that this place was made naturally. But I agree, it sounds like the kind of lunatic that would cave a taboo library out of a fine Fate’s given mountain.”

“I’m so curious. I wish I knew every language,” Hector whined.

“You got perfect memory already boy, why do you want more magic enchantments in your brain? Spare some for us, poor fate-abandoned kids.”

“Tina you are one of the randomly luckier people I know. Don’t come with this fate-abandoned kids talk,” June said.

“Isn’t June an egg? That counts as fate-blessed, right?”

“What do you mean egg?” Livia and Igor asked at the same time.

“Tina no!” Lucas pleaded, “Instead, I’m curious to know if there are any Viné spirits that are opposite to Hek. One that randomly helps?”

“I know you are just trying to change the subject but since you got a fun question I’ll bite. In Viné’s beliefs, there is this creature that other cultures sometimes refer to as fairies, they aren’t fairies though, they help people with random things. Like finding a lost object or giving more luck before a test.”

“Melanie told me about them! It’s the ones that help pretty people right?”

“They do what now?” Livia frowned.

“These spirits aren’t really fair,” Tina smirked. “So they are said to have a bias toward pretty people.”

“But do they help pretty people because they are pretty, or do people get pretty because of their help?” I asked.

“People don’t reach an agreement on this point,” Tina shrugged. “But people tend to pretty themselves up often to attract luck.”

“Yes!” Lucas shouted all of sudden, cutting the talk. “A book in Old Geati! Finally, something I can read!”

“Tough pile?” I asked.

“Don’t even get me started, it took me half an hour to stop messing with the alphabet of the last ones.”

“Is it poetry?” Livia asked, “I recognized some Old Geati in a couple of poetry books.”

“It’s prose!”

“That’s good, keep this one separated from the others, we might look further into it soon,” I said. “Tina, anything Portia-related?”

“Nothing. But I’m almost done with the crash course on Portia’s tribe so we can all look for the clues soon.”

“We are having a course on Portia culture?” Sandra’s eyes light up. “Please finish it faster.”

“I liked you better when you are too new and afraid to make demands.”

Sandra showed her tongue at Tina.

“Okay, time is up,” Hector put his pen down, “I’ll make everyone some actual food.”

“You are just slacking off,” Tina complained.

“If you learn to cook as well as  Hector does you are free to slack off all you want,” I said.

“If we get more hands we can all slack off more often,” Sandra tried.

“I’m not putting Melanie in the boat, things are not that simple.”

“But it would be cool.”

“Less talking and more copying Sandra.”

She whined and started working again.

as if the boy was purposely ignoring him, natsu kept walking forward

his scream finally made him turn around and natsu’s face held a teasing smirk

filled their vicinity and natsu finally realized where exactly they were so he tugged the still mumbling boy over to the side out of people’s view

he still didnt budge until natsu had to kick him at the leg

when the bell rang, everyone nyoomed themselves out of there and you were just walking past the door when a body came crashing to you which made you distracted and allowed a chance of vulnerability

there was a pair of hands covered your eyes from behind, hands grabbed your own from in front, and an arm around your waist started to guide you forward

‘um, just so you know, i have the power of god, anime, and iwa-san by my side and i wont hesitate to kick you in the di-’

a voice from in front of you hums and you smiled

you continued to walk, completely trusting at the hands of your boys, when you felt yourself being pulled to turn a corner

the boys exchanged a look of amazement at your sense of intuition and the accuracy of your guess despite being deprived of your senses

you heard mattsun a few feet in front of you whine and you giggled

then kyotani scoffed, you knowing it was him by feeling him twitch by the arm around your waist
