#heist crew
Note
What role would you assign each member for a heist?
Oooh, are we thinking of rebooting the Ocean's franchise with SKZ? Luce, you son of a bitch, I'm in. Let's get started.
(I had to refer to tvtropes for this because I didn't know all the archetype names)
The Mastermind - Bang Chan is the most obvious choice here. Normally I hate obvious choices. But he's so damn good as the leader of this wild crew! He's the Danny Ocean here, charming everyone into joining.
The Partner in Crime - Felix. Second in command to the leader, he's the one helping him pull the team together. The Lou to Chan's Debbie, if we're talking Ocean's 8.
The Con Man - Seungmin. The con man's the one manipulating people. They have to be sharp and quick on their feet. I think Seungmin's smart enough for this role.
The Pickpocket - Lee Know. It's just a feeling, based on his dancing but also his martial arts skills, thinking that his smooth movements could translate into pickpocketing.
The Hacker - Jeongin. Gamer boy gone bad. Putting those skills to use breaking into systems as needed to pull off the big heist.
The Driver - Changbin. In a pinch, can also be used as a bruiser if they need some muscle.
The Distraction - Han. He's the one drawing all the attention to himself so the others can do what they need without being noticed.
The Roper - Hyunjin. He's the one baiting the mark, getting them into place for the plan to work. Like a honeypot, seducing the target.

Nolan Chance's relationships with his teammates.
Antonia: On and off lovers. They just can't stay without the other. Nolan likes Antonia and Antonia likes Nolan. They also need of the other for more than heists, they like to be together. Mae thinks, asides of being a couple from time to time, they're best friends.
Piper: Like siblings. They're around the same age, and Nolan empathizes with her since he also worked for a fast food place when younger and knows what's like to survive with a minimum wage. Still, they disagree quite often due to Piper's challenging attitude
Mae: Like siblings. Nolan has a soft spot for Mae, he sees her like a little sister. Sometimes he forgets she's not innocent at all, she can blow up whatever she wants. Mae looks up at Nolan, she knows he'll support her no matter what
Fish Thicc: Friends, bros (?). Fish thicc rarely argues with Nolan, he prefers not to contradict him to avoid headaches, and he's good following orders, something Nolan likes a lot.
Khaby: Quite complicated to describe. Sometimes they get along pretty well since both are prone to point out when something that's being said/done is stupid. Some other times, when Nolan is the one of the stupid idea, they disagree. Still, he considers him as a friend (not a close one, just someone he knows he can trust)

"Honey, I've been planning the heist of the century."
"Again?"
"Well, yes, but this one will be more fun than last time."
"Promise?"
"Of course. I'm assuming you're in?"
"well, you need someone to keep those ideas of yours in check."
"You flatter me dear."
"Thank you, I try. Who else did you have in mind?"
(the following is a crew list for a fictional heist set in a far-off galaxy. While I'd love to draw them, I suck at art. Hopefully my text paints good enough pictures that you get a feel for the group and who they are)
The Mover - the master planner, slick talker, guy in charge of main negotiations for the team. The "Frank Ocean"-esque character. Humanoid, typically dressed in a suit of some kind, taller, but with a distinctly non-human head. Frequently tries to wear sunglasses in an attempt to make himself look "more cool," despite said sunglasses being completely incompatible with his head.
The Infil - Con artist, intelligence gatherer, and identity maintainer. THE woman with connections, especially in the intergalactic criminal network. Maried to The Mover. As a result, she's able to take his plans and carefully refine them to sleek perfection. Also humanoid, but only dresses as sleek as her husband when the need requires. She also makes a really nice cup of hot cocoa.
The Pilot - While on the surface he may just look like the getaway driver for the team, his roles extend much deeper than just that. If you need a ship, rover, craft, parade float, not only will he drive it, but he'll modify it to seemingly-impossible extremes. Before turning to a life of crime, he was a racer on the RIP Racing Circuit, before an incident with an illegal mod he made forced him into an early retirement. Still collects royalties from his cameo in an old Gala-coolant commercial.
The De-Con - Parts scavenger, explosives and weapons expert, and avid tinkerer. Need an electro-pulse atom de-shaker that can perfectly liquify the security door of any interstellar vault? He's already got six (leftovers from a previous heist). Helped introduce The Pilot into the network after seeing his mod in action, and the two frequently collaborate on larger projects. Listens to music whenever he works.
The Broker - The daughter of the Empress of the Western Celestial Body. Unfortunately for the Empire, she prefers to get into trouble and she has the funds to help the crew cause lots of it. Fortunately for the Empire, The Infil has managed to find connections and alabis that keep The Broker (and her funds) from ever being involved with the crew. Has been taking pickpocket lessons in her spare time.
The Squeeze - Born the smallest in its generation. His species is also known for their flexibility and able to contort and adjust their bodies. As such, is a masterful cat burglar. Kinda looks like a Tangela (the Pokemon), but without any legs. Since it has no mouth, it communicates in gestures and sign language via its various appendages. During meetings, it'll typically perch on someone's shoulder or head so that it can actually catch what's going on.
The Bio-Modifier - Cyborg with a split personality due to computer bug and a cheap cybernetics engineer. While the two halves of her may disagree on certain elements of their life, they both work together at bio-modification. The mechanical half handles modifications on the digital sphere (endo-scans, digi-spheres, etc.) and the synthetic half handles physical appearances (disguises, aliases, and such). Both avid chess fans, and mostly evenly matched in skill.
The Sys-Hacker - after his creation and programming outside the boundaries of the Inner-planitary Robotics Code (as well as the death of his creator for breaking said Code), the robotic form that is the Sys-Hacker lives a life under the radar. His programming not only allows him to hack into systems and terminals, but also "hypnotize" other AIs into doing his bidding, whether that's deleting footage or allowing security bipasses. Fortunately, his creator also gave him enough of a conscience to "wake up" those AIs... after he got what he needed, of course.
The Rookie - Human. Age 19. Pick-pocket back on earth, and currently studying psychology online. Still isn't 100% sure how he managed to get involved with the crew, but his human adaptability has given him the tools he needed to truly succeed. Teaches his pickpocketing skills to The Broker when she has the time and he doesn't have homework.

I am so utterly obsessed with rag-tag team heist movies so I made a Stranger things heist crew AU roster
Tumblr media
Steve "Moneybags" Harrington's heist crew used to be a team of 2, the other being Dustin "Phisher" Henderson. Steve was the only person Claudia Henderson trusted to look after her son, and as Dustin grew older, the two of them became close friends.
Steve watched Dustin hack into all sorts of databases, uncover the truth behind town conspiracies and even hack a few of his bullies.
When Mr. harrington cut Steve off financially, he wanted to get back at him, and pull a "prank" with Dustin to empty out an offshore bank account that his father kept hidden from Mrs. Harrington.
The plan went smoothly. A little too smoothly, maybe. Or perhaps Dustin was a natural at this, that's what Steve believed. And since it was that easy for Steve and Dustin to get their hands on $1.5 Million, they decided to take their pranks to another level.
Steve proposed for their next prank, they should clean out one of Mr. Harrington's friends' cryptocurrency. He explains to Dustin how the asshole keeps his assets on a physical drive in his house that they could wipe while he was away on vacation.
Dustin agrees and suggests they bring Eddie "Safecrack" Munson into the fold. He tells Steve Eddie's trustworthy and knows how to pick locks and hotwire cars, y'know, just in case.
Eddie, of course, is thrilled by the idea. Not only does he love a little mischief, he'd love to get his hands on some money and a fast car. "However," Eddie told them "we'll need someone to drive one of those fancy cars outta there. We may be good drivers...but we're not that good. But not to worry, I know a guy."
The guy in question? Billy "Wheels" Hargrove. A California bad boy who knows plenty about fast cars and fast cash, so he's in without question. He also doesn't mind hassling pretty boy Harrington. (there's so much sexual tension between them. Billy's the one who gave Steve his code name. He said 'the hair' didn't quite fit.). But Billy's not doing anything unless his stepsister, Max "Sticky Fingers" Mayfield can come in and swipe whatever isn't nailed down for a cut.
They used to have a complicated relationship, but they bonded by shoplifting whatever Billy's dad wouldn't let them have. Max was a skilled thief. She could get out of any store with anything that she wanted, and Billy would drive away like a bat outta hell. She lifted consoles, games and even a little lipgloss, for Billy.
So their first heist goes without a hitch, and after wiping millions in crypto off some hard drives, swiping some expensive paintings and a 2020 Mclaren, they can't resist the urge to plan bigger heists together.
Billy suggests they call up his coworker Heather "Chameleon" Holloway. "She's got more wigs than personalities" He joked. When they brought Heather onto the team, she showed them her massive walk in closet, full of clothes, wigs, shoes and more. Not to mention, she could use her charm and distract anyone. Heather was bored at home, spending time perfecting her hair and makeup skills. She could change her appearance to look like a completely different person. It was all the fun she had. Her mom was always wine drunk, and her dad was a jerk who ignored her because he wanted a son, so she was happy to be part of a team that didn't treat her like she was invisible.
Under normal circumstances, they'd never spend time together, but now? They're an inseperable friend group.
They've made some friends (and enemies) in their line of work, but everyday is an adventure.
They recently took on a half a billion dollar heist job for a mysterious man by the name of Henry Creel, unaware of the dangers that lie ahead...
Tagging some people: @shieldofiron @adelacreations @dragonflylady77 @harringroveera @bigdumbbambieyes
Because I love your writing and I'd love to hear how y'all would include some other characters/ships in the mix. I just love heist AUs so much~

Just saw National Treasure for the first time in the final days of 2022. I'm obsessed with the one henchman who barely has lines and is largely a nonentity except for one moment where he sees two of the heroes kiss and forlornly asks "why does that never happen to me?"

Leverage Team Secret Santa
The Leverage team decides to do a Secret Santa one year.
Parker has no idea what to get Nate, "What do you get a guy with a weird controlling people thing??" until someone reminds her that he's also a "functioning alcoholic" so she looks up well-guarded alcohol and steals him a couple bottles of very nice, very pricey, formerly very secured scotch.
Nate gets Hardison some rare Star Wars and Star Trek memorabilia, along with a shirt that says "Age of the Geek Baby."
Hardison agonizes over what to get Sophie, he doesn't trust himself to do clothes (what if she doesn't like them or they don't fit?!) and eventually gets her a sort of advent calendar of ticket coupons. 12 venues, she picks the date, and Hardison will put her on their guest list/acquire a ticket (options are a couple spas and several theaters).
Sophie gives Eliot a set of high end cooking knives and some animal ice packs for post-mission bruises.
Eliot was going to give Parker money but then decided it'd be more fun to make her some cupcakes and hide a golden dollar in half of them. She thought it was hilarious.

Ok i saw "ask me about my Montrose divorce lore" on your Montrose Pretty blorbo bingo post so here goes;
what is your Montrose divorce lore?
Okay okay so.
My montrose divorce lore. Idk how I came up w this shit but basically:
Ages ago, two women got married. And then they divorced. And then they both transitioned. Enough time had passed that neither recognized the other man. And their names were Montrose Pretty and Lyndon Julius (AKA Beef Punchley).

badly summarized wip oc poll tag
so i was tagged by @planets-and-prose to do the badly summarized wip poll tag. except... that i'm really only working on one wip right now. so i decided to cheat and create a new game.
before you are terrible descriptions of the gemini heist main girlies. you must vote based purely on vibes.
(bonus points: guess which descriptions fit each character. 😉)
tagging: @kahvilahuhut @kapenkoiwrites @moondust-bard @lonsdalewrite @nightlylaments and whoever else wants to do it! you can do the original wip version or the oc version i just invented whatever you like lmao
