And - another devil/closeness counter in the very first dialog in your study - only available if you hide the blade/shard fragment in the Electrodynamic Cenobium from Heinrix (= heretic option). You can then give it to him later in the talk in your study.
If you do not have the shard you can add it with toybox at the start of the dialog in your study.
There are two shards - the one from the Electrodynamic Cenobium is the "Mysterious Sword Handguard". Look for it in toybox and add it (with Add 1 button, I did it for both that I saw displayed).
There is also another shard/fragment from Kunrad. This is the "Blade Shard". You can also give it to Heinrix in this talk, but it doesn't unlock any flirt options. You only get this response from him:
Back to the mysterious sword handguard shard:
Heinrix will give you his "Rogue Trader... " speach and after that you have the new option "Give Heinrix the blade fragment"
If you took the iconoclast option to throw the (2nd) shard away you would normally get the "I have something to confess...." dialog option:
If you took the heretic option to take the shard (or toybox to give it to you) - you get the option to give the fragment to Heinrix
There are two neutral options
and two flirt options (but do not start the romance apparently):
Closeness:
Devil:
If you additinoally take the devil option regarding the Elucidator ("love token") you increase your devil counter to value 2.
If you then take the last devil option you have value 3 and get new dialog from Heinrix:
Rogue Trader - Heinrix romance - flirting differences (devil vs. closeness)
With Heinrix you can either flirt aggressively with him which will increase the "devil" counter or you are doing no or very light flirting which will increase the "closeness" counter. This affects in some cases his dialog.
Act 1 - First talk after he is recruited
Devil:
Two options for Devil - one at the start and one later. Both start the romance. The second one ("A little more..." excludes the closeness option.
Closeness:
Starts the romance. This option excludes the devil option "A little more...."
You can also start his romance by talking to him on the bridge after his recruitment. Both options start his romance but doesn't seem to count for the devil or closeness counter.
2. Act 2 - Footfall, when Heinrix returns (at the docks)
Both options can be taken, they do not exclude each other.
Devil:
Closeness:
3. Act 2 - Janus after dealing with the Governor / end of main quest
Devil:
With 3 devil points (or more) before starting the talk you get another response from him:
After this devil option there is another one available (excludes the closeness and corruption point options)
Closeness:
This option exludes the devil and corruption point options
There is also an option to increase his corruption counter (if you want him to leave the inquisition). It does not increase devil/closeness counters.
3. Act 2 - Conversation after his personal quest (in Kiava Gamma) is finished
Devil:
This line excludes the closeness option on top ("You can relate of course..."
The question regarding his romantic preferences has two versions.
If you have less than 3 devil points you get this answer:
If you have at least 3 devil points you get this one:
If you move to the regicide board you have additional options.
This one exludes the other two options that allow you to play regicide with him - so if you take this line you won't be able to do that unfortuantely.
If you have 4 or more devil points you can get a different ending talk with him for this scene (also works with "Running away, are you?")
Closeness:
First dialog option ("You can relate...") counts as closeness and unlocks other dialog for the second closeness option
The "Tell me a secret" line counts as closeness and the answer depends on if you took the first closeness option (in this case you get +2 closeness points)
or not (and you get only + 1 closeness point)
Another closeness option hides behind the question for his favourite food - if you use the smile option it increases the closeness counter
At the regicide board you can have a different ending dialog with him if you have at least 4 closeness points with him:
4. Act 2 - Dragonus ceremony talk
Devil:
Excludes the closeness option
And here seems to be a bug - kissing Heinrix does not increase the devil counter as one would expect, but instead holding his hands:
Closeness:
Excludes the first devil option
5. Act 3 - Start talking with him on the bridge about what happened at the ceremony
Devil:
There are only two devil responses here - I think this is another bug.
I will update this post if I find more, but the later (romance) scenes with him doesn't really seem to use the devil/closeness counters anymore.
Addition
-> You can use the toybox mod (on PC) to check the devil/closeness counters and to change them (or for other things, like seeing dialog options even if you do not meet the criteria or reset your skill points...)
(Mod on Nexusmods), install as instructed.
In game e.g. during dialog press CTRL + F10
For the devil/closeness counters go to "Search 'n Pick" tab and on the left side to "Flags". You can search for "Heinrix_R" to show his romance flags and change the values (don't forget to save before closing the toybox screen)

Rogue Trader *trying to flirt with Heinrix*: Look! You're a handsome man, I'm almost raven-haired...

Rogue Trader - devil vs closeness comparison / interpretation - part 3 + conclusion
Part 1
Part 2
1. Act 2 - Dragonus ceremony talk
Devil
RT makes a joke, his response is the same as if you take the closeness option.
Taking his hand is surprisingly the devil option and there isn't even a closeness option (no - the kiss does not count as closeness). Maybe as @chunkymonkey speculated it is indeed further teasing and baiting him, but I am still not sure if it isn't indeed a bug - there is strangely only this devil option and no closeness option either and this feels more like closeness would have and the kiss devil.
Closeness
His response is the same as if you take the devil option but more serious instead of joking about his behavior.
And - no further closeness option, no, the kiss isn't (and wouldn't really fit that well to closeness RT in my opinion as before closeness was always very coy/shy and not even clearly flirting, to have a closeness RT to then charge and kiss him out of the blue is a bit unexpected and I personaly think that fits better with a devil RT).
2. Act 3 - Bridge talk after ceremony
Devil
Yes, no closeness option here, either intended or a bug, who knows.
Maybe intentional to indicate that a closeness RT would rather not trying to push him for information but seeing how the first option is again both from RT and Heinrix more fitting to devil with the teasing and Heinrix a bit annoyed/lecturing behavior and the other one fits better to closeness with her just genuinely asking about the status of their relationship (they could have kissed before - I think it is very valid to ask what is going on) and his sincere response (it is difficult for him to answer, he likely even has tried before to not think about what is between them) I still think it is a bug. Makes most sense to me.
Anyway it leads both to the same text where he finally admits that it is a challenge for him to be near RT and his duty/position doesn't allow him much more.
4. Act 4 - date scene
Devil
Unfortunately it isn't triggered in the game but in the date there is a devil dialog in the game files that is visible with toybox. RT can tell him she liked him better when he lost his temper and he says "Right, and I'll immediately start reprimanding you like in the good old days and we'll forget what was said... I'm afraid it's too late to hide behind jokes."
I actually think that explains a lot - RT joking, not taking things (apparently) serious, Heinrix scolding her until the topic is done (without getting a serious response from RT and not solving the issue as it isn't really discussed) and not just Heinrix hiding behind his anger and facade but also RT with her jokes. And he calls her out here.
Closeness
For closeness the option is to tell him that he is still secretive. But that he is just RT telling him that openly, for devil RT he is not more open or saying more. Devil has the romantic convo where he tells a bit but it is also teasing her and seems like testing RTs boundaries while with closeness RT he does have previously the talk about his past and the secret he shares. So it makes sense for closeness to be closer to him but still even in their relationship he keeps a lot of (unnecessary) secrets.
3. Summary
So - for closeness rather disappointing parts around the Magnae but of course, it doesn't mean that a closeness RT isn't allowed to take other options as well and vice versa (or even options that aren't closeness/devil related).
Is Heinrix more open with devil here? If it isn't a bug then yes, because devil RT forces him to admit his feelings on the bridge, if it is a bug then it would be the same for closeness and devil. Would be great to get a feedback on this from the devs.
Still - I wouldn't take that one point as proof that devil is making Heinrix more open. It is not like you need here devil points to unlock the conversation (compared to other parts where this is the case). You just get devil points if you ask him.
4. Conclusions
So - what changes in the end?
Not much. You get sometimes a bit more dialog if you go with closeness and sometimes a bit more if you go with devil. To get the most of it would actually be mixing both. There are also dialog options to increase the corruption points with him that exclude closeness/devil options.
But it is not like something important changes - you don't get the Kiava Gamma conversation earlier with Heinrix if you go devil for example. It is the same for both. And it is not like Heinrix is a different person if he is with a devil or closeness RT. But the dynamic is differently.
And that is good, because it doesn't make one path superior to the other - it is just personal preference and allows the players to shape the romance based on their RT and this is incredible.
For example - for my OC Venria the devil options (most of them at least) would not have worked. She is not that confident to start teasing and baiting an Interrogator like 2 days after becoming a Rogue Trader. She has to grow into that role first, to learn what it means to be a Rogue Trader and to find that confidence. She is also more of a shy person - can you imagine that would fit with devil RT? I don't. Which is why I am thankful to have it not forced on me - I would have to play a different RT then for Heinrix. Would be ok, still great romance option, but it would be much more limiting.
But if you have a different RT - let's say someone more antagonistic and wary regarding the Inquisition, or someone hiding behind jokes, then devil RT might fit much better compared to the closeness options.
I keep seeing that people think devil is making Heinrix more open because they get more reaction from him and I would like to address that.
I respectfully disagree with that view. But yes - this is like the complete three posts just my personal opinion of course.
In my view, a devil RT is much more challenging for Heinrix. She keeps teasing and provoking him, testing out his boundaries and willpower. Hoping to get an interesting result back - or the intended one which depends on your RT - are you seriously interested in romancing him? Just want him for sex? Want to play with him and letting him then fall? You decide.
And Heinrix? He reacts strongly - more than expected from a psyker and Interrogator, someone who should have a lot of control and willpower and I think Heinrix shows often in game that he does have those. Especially when helping RT fighting off psyker influences. But with RT his control wavers a bit - he does get his composure back quite fast usually, but his facade slips. And I am pretty sure that annoys him, having lost his composure for a moment.
Keep in mind - here is a guy working since decades in the Inquisition and likely quite long as Interrogator and experienced psyker and he seeks to harden himself further. He already can stiffle his physical pain, now the only thing left to make his job easier is getting rid of his emotions, to get rid of this weakness. And he is quite far with it - only a small nudge from a RT and he goes all in being ruthless (Kiava Gamma quest).
And then - then comes RT. Not only is he attracted to her, no, she has the audacity to flirt with him, to tease him to continuisly show him that he could (likely) have her, being with her (to some point). At first he doesn't know her intentions - is it just a joke, a game? What does she want? But he can't just ignore her. I am sure he tries his best to not think about her and especially not in a intimate way. At least that is what I would do (and did) when I had feelings for someone that couldn't be. Because if you keep thinking about someone and imagining kissing and doing other stuff - how are you supposed to distance yourself, to let your feelings cool off? Hard enough that Heinrix keeps seeing RT every day - that makes it super hard to let the feelings cool off. I know what I am talking about. I spent 4 years having feelings for one guy that I kept seeing every day, even though I thought he wasn't interested. But then you get a bit of encouragement, a small sign, just hands that touch that hadn't been necessary and then it completely starts again from new. Been there. Luckily I am married to that guy now. So in many ways, I can relate with Heinrix and also there are reasons I play my Venria the closeness path - it reminds me a lot of my own experience with my husband.
Sorry, anyway, imagine Heinrix with all these difficulties, desperately trying to not think of RT this specific, romantic way and she keeps teasing him. It must be incredibly frustrating. He is suffering (for both devil and closeness of course). It isn't like he doesn't want to be with her - he really thinks he can't. It must not be. And she keeps making it more and more difficult for him.
And not only that - he brings something serious to discuss and she jokes about it, seemingly not taking it serious, something he cares about. Then he scolds her and the topic is closed but they haven't even talked about it really. It was just she jokes and he gets annoyed/angry - discussion closed.
So it is no wonder his emotions boil at some point and that his facade slips for a short moment. But while these are strong emotions I don't think that means that Heinrix is more open with a devil RT. Yes, out of frustration and anger he shows these feelings - but that doesn't make him more likely to share private information compared to closeness in my opinion.
And we see it in game - he tells a devil RT about his romantic preferences but in a very teasing way, basically payback for her teasing. A closeness RT gets his dialog about his past, as child, his dreams. And aside from that closeness and devil is the same - with one exception which I think is a bug and that is the after Magnae talk. But it doesn't mean that devil makes him more likely to share. There is no reason a closeness RT wouldn't get that response from him.
"Open up" meaning getting closer to a person to deepen the connection and getting a better look at how that person really is and getting her/she to share personal information -> in this regard tbh I find closeness RT much more fitting. With the closeness option they are talking seriously about things, he shares his inner thoughts and feelings and his past. And he does show his true feelings - he is just not reacting strongly because he is not acting out in anger with a closeness RT because she is not making fun in a serious situation or about a topic that is important to Heinrix.
"Open up" meaning to bring his true feelings to light instead of a facade - both do that. Closeness as well - look at the very first talk in her study. How he is speechless, how he looks away, he clearly shows his inner feelings. But they aren't loud. He is not angry, scolding her, they aren't strong reactions but they are reactions and they tell so much about him. Because he allows a look at his inner side, his weakness, his vulnerability. With devil he gets angry and annoyed because of RT because she is provoking him - what does that tell you about him? That he is angry and annoyed RT is joking in this moment with him.
With closeness RT he thinks she is serious but he doesn't at first know if she is into him or not (depending on if you showed him interest or not, otherwise I think he will know). But closeness RT is not pressuring him, which I think he is thankful for as well because while he is still suffering by his feelings she isn't making it intentionally more difficult for him
With devil RT he might at first also question the intention, if she is serious or not. Just because you flirt with someone doesn't mean you are serious about them. How should he know? If everything is always a joke to RT? And devil RT keeps making things difficult for him intentional. He does admit that it is refreshing to talk with her because she is unafraid and speaks her mind - he is not used to this.
But for closeness it is similar - she is unafraid of him too and asking questions he isn't used to ask himself (making him think about himself, about his personal desires and wishes, what he hasn't done in a long time). She is also saying what she thinks, just not that provocative like devil RT.
TLDR -> both devil and closeness have an appeal to him, both are showing interest in him, both are not afraid of him, devil is more provocative and gets more funny dialog options I think, but I find closeness a bit sweeter at times, which is just personal preference, and with both he opens up sharing information about himself and his life.
So no, devil in my opinion is not making Heinrix more open, more ready to share his inner feelings and thoughts. It just gets stronger emotional reactions out from him (because RT provokes him).
Both paths are equally good and no one is superior - only the player can decide which one fits best to their RT and playstyle, but Heinrix is still Heinrix with both, and that is good.

Rogue Trader - devil vs closeness comparison / interpretation - part 2
Part 1
Part 3
1. Act 2 - Footfall, when Heinrix returns (at the docks)
Devil
Flirt - RT once again throws him off. He has this nice speech formed in his mind and RT distracts him.
Closeness
This can be taken as flirt but also once again as just RT being friendly. And that is not a downside I think. RT is being nice, offering him respect and notice RT comes closer (I still think the others will hear her) making this more personal, "intimate" than if she had just stayed where she was and saying it aloud.
And again a "ghost of a smile" - he is still reserved, of course.
2. Act 2 - Janus after dealing with the Governor / end of main quest
Devil
If you haven't flirted enough with devil flirts you get this option and he takes it as a joke, clearly reading into it that RT wants him to spank her or something in front of everyone.
So that doesn't fit a RT who before hasn't flirted or chosen mostly closeness flirts (or not enough devil) so he think that can't be serious and he is rather annoyed that RT is making fun once again in this serious matter.
Keep in mind - you only get that dialog when he is romanced. Otherwise I find the question and RTs dialog could also fit a non romanced RT who is looking to challenge Heinrix to attack her.
With enough devil points/flirts before it looks a bit different. Now he thinks she is serious (or at least - he can't be sure she is not serious and only joking) and it makes him blush.
This results him being "furious and mortified" - furious with RT who is testing his patience and distracting him once again and mortified because he clearly had a certain picture in mind and his reaction showed it and he feels ashamed for both I think.
Why? From my point of view - while he has these feelings for RT and desire of course, he is so desperately trying to ignore it, to not think about it, to keep his composure. And then devil RT comes along like a big tasty cake in front of him and he can't not see it or pretend it isn't there. He wants to reach for it so very much, wants to eat it, maybe just a tiny bit, just tasting it but while it isn't forbidden - he gets it offered even, he knows he shouldn't. He wants to keep his diet he has ongoing and it would throw him back to the start likely. And if he starts to eat from the cake - maybe it tastes that well he wants to have it all? What then?
Sorry for the poor metaphor but I think devil RT is especially tempting, constantly offering him something he does not allow himself to have. Because it is distracting. He wants to focus on the mission. To harden himself. It could make things even worse. What if the feelings get stronger?
And now he has thought about RT in a way that he might not have done before (because if you want to get rid of your feelings, to keep your control and just because you think you can't be for whatever reasons with a person I don't expect someone to keep thinking about this specific person and being intimate with them (and therefore fanning your feelings) but I am only speaking from my very own experience when I was in the situation).
And he showed more of his true feelings than he liked to. He is not as controled and composed as he wants to.
RT can admit she likes to bait him and he reacts strongly - this is actually interesting because he should be better in control - both as psyker and Interrogator. Are there enemies that aren't mocking or insulting him? But it is different if you have someone you hate mocking or trying to make fun of you or someone you care about.
He comes close to RTs face - very close, nearly giving in to the temptation (to kiss her). And here he says it himself - he sees her flirting as provocations, testing his patience and boundaries over and over again.
But then he collects himself again. RT might even be into starting something with him but he can't allow it for himself. It must not be.
Closeness
With closeness RT is very open and directly tells him that she enjoys him being worried - that she welcomes it. Further giving a hint that she is interested in him as a person and a connection to him.
And he calms down and even admits he doesn't want her getting hurt and he would do everything (to protect her I suppose).
He doesn't show a strong reaction like with devil, no. He even calms down - a closeness RT seems more understanding, not provoking him, he doesn't need to scold her to make his point. But look at his words - he tries to explain her his reaction and confirms that he is worried and concerned about her well-being, showing his care for her as well.
So while devil gets a stronger reaction and a hint he is also interested in her (at lest attracted, tempted to kiss her/ start something with her) I don't see it as being more open than with closeness. That he doesn't have to get angry and can just talk normally with RT is also meaning a lot and he admits his inner thoughts and feelings, that he cares, not just that he wants RT but that he cares about her.
3. Act 2 - Conversation after his Kiava Gamma quest
Devil
RT is provocative again and Heinrix reacts a bit indignant and a bit challenging her as well - questioning her untouchability.
Interesting that he says the impudence is inherited so I guess he has read enough about Theodora to come to this conclusion.
RT is teasing a bit and he doesn't want to answer it really. This is when there aren't enough points for devil flirts.
Also interesting, you can talk with him about his family and past, the day his powers emerged and how he was disowned etc. without issues but no, not about romantic preferences - don't you dare.
But seeing the response and his reaction in the other case (see below) I do think it is because he doesn't really has to share something. Maybe he doesn't have a preference (not everyone does). If a closeness RT asks him that he might not want to talk about another woman in this case to make her upset or to give RT the impression she would not be his type.
If you have enough points you will get a much different response. He will actually tell RT about a romance he once had - and he is testing her reaction, baiting RT just like she always baits him which is great I think.
It is unclear if this is the truth or if he made it up. It isn't hard to imagine he had a romance sometime ago so I don't see it as a lie. But like with the DLC/bath scene it could be some more to it that he isn't saying (or making up even).
RT can look different or similar of course, making it interesting as he would then say RT is exactly his type or only partially or not at all.
You can also ask further and he will tell you that his duty/position does not allow for more than a dalliance - with a very chilling look. It is not his decision, he would like to have more, but he can't. That he doesn't look sad but rather angry (chilling look) is I think because RT keeps tempting and teasing him to start something with her although he can't react on it (not that he really explains that to RT, would be too easy I suppose).
RT flirting again and Heinrix once again trying to steer it from the implied meaning to something harmless. And I also think he really likes to play regicide (this option does not allow you to play regicide with him).
He actually admits he enjoys talking with a devil RT because it is refreshing to have someone not be afraid of him for once and saying openly what they mean. I think at this point while RT is still teasing him he does think she is sincere and interested in him, but he has a hard time because he is tempted (look how he leans forward, coming closer to her and even lowers his voice, making it more "intimate" although they are already alone) but doesn't want to give in.
Closeness
You can speak with him about his past, how he had been in a similar very changing situation as a child when his powers emerged. This is a difficult topic for him and he does tries to reflect a bit and not talk about it too much. But you can ask him further and get more insight, that he doesn't blame his family and he is a rotten apple.
If you asked him before about his past you get him to open up more when you ask him about a secret. You can also read it seems he is trying to hide behind his humour. He has just opened up to RT, telling her that he misses his sisters, training with the knight, that he keeps dreaming about it.
If you didn't asked about his past, you don't get him more to open up. I suppose because you didn't showed interest in his past like before and now just simply asks for a secret and he doesn't know what to share (he has too many of them) and isn't really willing to start now a discussion about his past.
RT is further getting to know him better, showing him that she even remember seemingly unimportant parts of their conversations. Seeing that his memory is excellent as well he might also be impressed RT is equally good with this. And likely didn't expect she would remember such a detail (that he says he doesn't pay attention to) about him.
Like with devil you get a specific reaction from Heinrix - he steps forward too, in this case taking her hand and kissing it and telling her that she asks question he isn't used to and also that he likes to talk to her again.
4. Summary part 2
I will talk about it more in part 3 with the conclusion and don't want to repeat myself too much here and there but I do think with devil he get's the impression RT is interested in him much more clearly (but he could still be unsure how sincere RT is or what she wants from him - just his body? Could it be more? Does she want to use him for his position?...) while with closeness it could mean that RT only wants to be his friend but I think for Heinrix it is even easier to deal with a closeness RT than with a devil RT.
Closeness RT is not joking around but appears to take him and the mission seriously. With devil RT he never really knows. She is a wild card and keeps distracting him. With his attraction to RT he surely has already a hard time to keep himself focused but a devil RT that keeps flirting with him is much more distracting in my opinion.
The important part here for me is that the comment from him regarding it is fresh breath of air speaking with devil does not mean it isn't the same for closeness. With closeness he says RT asks interesting questions (which makes him reflect on himself which he usually doesn't). That usually doesn't happen as well - his comment could also have been the same. Devil/closeness RT are both not afraid of him, both speaking their mind but with devil clearly also with the intention to rile him up and provoking him while closeness is acutally more about a connection with him and getting to understand him better (asking about his past etc.). But that doesn't mean that one is better than the other and in my opinion it also does not show that devil makes him open up compared to closeness.

Rogue Trader - Toybox - General and Heinrix specific information
You can use toybox to check and change values e.g. if you want try out or fix things or help with the game (e.g. reskill without cost etc.).
For the Heinrix romance you can find the values for the closeness and devil flirt counters here and you can influence the romance status (start/complete...).
Toybox:
(Mod on Nexusmods) or get the newest version from GitHub: Here.
After patch you usually have to update - just get the newest version from GitHub and overwrite the existing toybox folder in your game path.
Installation
Install as instructed on Nexusmods or as explained here:
unzip
rename folder (at start and end is a zero) to: 0ToyBox0
Put it in the UnityModManager folder for the game und AppData e.g. if you installed it under hard drive C it would be -> C:\Users\\AppData\LocalLow\Owlcat Games\Warhammer 40000 Rogue Trader\UnityModManager
Please keep in mind that the AppData folder is usually hidden and has to be displayed first (check your folder settings) and you need to have started the game first once to have the path available
-> To call it in game press CTRL + F10
Bag of Tricks
The first tab has a lot of quality of life things that might be helpful to you.
set a key bind to instant kill enemies (if you are in a hurry)
give you resources like reputation points etc.
suppress jealousy + gender limitations for romance
suppress conviction restriction for dialog
etc.
Party
Here you can set (under Stats) your abilities and conviction points. You might need to decrease some points first and then save to allow another conviction to increase above the threshold (I think 45 points for stage 2?).
Oh and free respec - but not from origin - for that you might want to try the Level Up tab but no idea if this works.
Dialog & NPCs
Here you can see in some cases if you require a certain threshold (e.g. devil points) to see a conversation or if something is triggered (like here Start etude (Heinrix) would start his romance)
Etudes/Search'n Pick
For the Etudes you can go to the Search'n Pick tab and on the left side check for Etudes and then enter in the left search "Rom" or "Romances" to get the romance etudes displayed.
If you see "Start" it hasn't started yet. If you see"Complete" and "Unstart" it has started. Pressing on "Start" should start the romance.
E.g. - here is the situation after the first talk (in RTs quarters) with Heinrix where I did not use any of the dialog lines to start his romance:
And here if I have the bridge talk with him where I choose the "lonely" line to start his romance:
For the devil/closeness counters go to "Search 'n Pick" tab and on the left side to "Flags". You can search for "Heinrix_R" to show his romance flags and change the values (don't forget to save before closing the toybox screen)
Corruption points
The flag CorruprionInterrogator (-> please check the spelling - it is not corrupTion but corrupRion) is the one responsible to make Heinrix leave the inquisition (if romanced) see info here how to get the points in game).
If you missed a dialog option or got a bug you can use toybox to manually set the counter.
You need value 2 for the date scene in act 4 to get additional dialog to get another corruption point. For the 2nd romance scene ("freeze" scene) you need 3 points for Heinrix to leave the inquisition.
At some point it will set etude Heresy for Heinrix to leave the inquisition. So if you are very late in game deciding to have him stay, it might be that the corruption point counter is not taken into account anymore when you change it. In this case check the Heresy etude - if it is active he will stay, if not then he will return to the inquisition.
Act 4
1st romance scene: Date
Trigger is explained here.
Etude name: QuietEvening
2nd romance scene: Freeze
Should trigger after doing the main quest on Euphrates II when you leave the planet. There is currently a bug where it does not work, then you can use toybox as workaround and press the play button to play the scene directly (-> but NOT on Euphrates II, go to your ship first).
Jealous scene
You can trigger it (even if you do not romance anyone else, just to see how Heinrix reacts) with toybox too:
Look for the etude Jealousy_ktc and start it - it should trigger the jealous scene (in my case I set it right before leaving Euphrates II and got it after Heinrix's freeze/romance scene).
-> Don't forget to save before closing the toybox screen if you want to keep the changed values.
Heinrix quest flags and endings
Please see here for some Heinrix specific quest flags and how it affects the endings.
Romance related scenes:
Act 1:
- first talk after recruitment + bridge talk afterwards (-> some lines are available in later acts but not all and there are romance related lines (e.g. asking him if he is lonely) in there too)
Act 2:
- Footfall docks (when he returns). You can also have afterwards a mission talk with him but I haven't found romance related lines in there.
- Pillars of Viridice (black ship on ice planet -> has to be done in act 2! If you take other companions with you he will get interrupted by one of them but you can go back to the ship after the scene to get your crew for the later fights in the ship)
- Janus (end of quest after you deal with the governor he will initiate the talk when you leave her office)
- Talk after his quest on Kiava Gamma (in your study + bridge talk afterwards. You can unlock playing (repeatedly) regicide with him)
- Dragonus ceremony (talk with him before you leave for your chambers)
Act 3:
- At the beginning talk on bridge about what happened at the ceremony
- In Commoragh when you find him and in the pit (or you can do Commoragh without him by taking him not with you to the quest where you get captured, then you will get a romance scene at the start of Act 4)
Act 4
- Beginning of Act 4 talk (about Commoragh - just a bridge talk if he was there or a romance scene if he wasn't and you unlock the option to sleep with him whenever you like)
- Early Act 4 during travel (date) (after his companion quest?)
- After Euphrates 2 (optional jealous scene) and romance scene (if you have three or more corruption points you get additional dialog in his romance scene and a bridge talk option afterwards -> this has nothing to do with the conviction, if you go full heretic he will leave you before Euphrates 2! These corruption points are only for him to leave the inquisition to stay with the RT.
Act 5
- Before end planet talk on bridge (you can click several times on him and you will get new dialog but the main romance related one is the first one).

Rogue Trader - devil vs closeness comparison / interpretation - part 1
I love that there is a devil and closeness path in the game for Heinrix, because it allows for more variety and you can make the romance fit better to your RT as none is the same.
That being said, I wanted to go through the devil/closeness flirts and have a look at it - what is said to Heinrix and how does he respond?
Of course, this is my interpretation of it - yours might be different.
In the end, I wanted to see what difference it really makes in the game if you go devil or closeness - everything else is personal interpretation. Sorry, this is going to be very long, I wil have to split it into several posts.
Part 2
Part 3
Let's start:
1. After mission talk (recruitment)
Devil:
Flirt - This one feels provocative - you have met the man a few hours ago and he has been kind of antagonistic, requisitioning you although you might even have offered your help (as ordered by Xavier) to begin with. It is clear RT can't be serious. Even if there was attraction from begin with, it is too soon to speak about love. It is clearly baiting/teasing him.
But it is an unexpected answer and does not play into his usual routine, so it throws him off for a moment. He either expects RT to be just thankful, or maybe not caring or maybe even be hostile but not saying something like this, so he has to "steel himself". It does start the romance, so it seems it shows Heinrix a potential interest from RT.
Flirt - It makes him smile, which I love, but interestingly he says "For the avoidance of any awkwardness..." which I would interpret as him overlooking the flirt, assuming it wasn't serious from RT but instead to lighten up the mood and make a joke. It does not start the romance.
Not sure if "guarded smile" is worth an interpretation - there is also always a danger to over interpret things. It could mean he doesn't want to encourage RT or maybe he is trying to keep his "nothing affects me" composure that he is working on (trying to harden himself).
RT is flirting/teasing - Heinrix is hesitating for a moment. He surely is not a stranger to have people flirting with him, but I wouldn't expect it being that often too because him being in the Inquisition. But it is also interesting that he says "until evidence arises..." - so he either is still not convinced RT is interested in him (despite the clear flirt) or he suspects she is flirting with him not out of attraction but other motives that he might have encountered before, e.g. people trying to bring him to their side, use him etc.
Compared to his other response - at this point you have taken several devil options, so now he has a better view on RT and he sees her as "frivolous". I am not a native speaker, but according to the dictionary it means playful, not serious. I would be interested in the russian version because in german "frivol" would also mean without shame which would fit very much to this RT.
He also folds his hands behind his back - like a teacher.
Not sure how accurate it is but based on interpreation of body language this is usally a way/sign to express dominance - note that he is also leaning forward, he is not retreating or hiding. He is scolding and even judging RT - that this is not the proper way to behave as leader of a dynasty. And - he wants to be treated with the respect he deserves ("... stop addressing...").
I think he is in general much more used to confrontations with others, he says himself usually people don't want him around or how rare it is to have someone being grateful for his presence. He is used to use his authority and presence to intimidate others, order them to get his way. Here, he can't use it with RT but he is still trying to stand his ground, to show that he is prepared to push back.
Because this is devil path only, only devil gets more dialog:
RT can here continue to make fun and even admit teasing/baiting him. He is not that amused about it though, likely only proving him more that RT is behaving too silly for his taste and her position (-> I am not saying that doesn't change later but for the moment think about how that must look to him. RT seems to not take him seriously and only interested in making fun of him).
Even if RT backs down he is not convinced about the sincerity of it ("... not been taken in by your easy acquiescence"). He steps back - so he got what he wanted, he made clear where he stands, that he likes to be respected and got it but isn't convinced it will endure.
But he also keeps his eyes on RT - compare it to closeness where he looks away. He previously looked away too - when he was looking with personal interest until RT noticed and he averted his eyes. This look that he is now using is nothing like this - given his previous reactions and answers it is more like keeping a trouble maker in eyesight. But maybe he is also trying to figure RT out more.
Closeness:
This option is not a romance start. I wouldn't even know if that is meant to be a flirt or not and I think Heinrix is not sure either - although he says he knows what she means. But seeing that it doesn't start the romance and it doesn't really feel flirty to me (maybe just because I am not a native speaker) I assume Heinrix has the impression RT wants to work with him on honest grounds, not keeping secrets from him and wanting to speak with him in a civilised way (not exchanging threats or insults etc.) which I think he approves off. If people just cooperate with him it makes his work easier.
Flirt - I would interpret it as RT telling him she is personally interested in him (= attracted to him) and that is why she is nervous and not because he is in the Inquisition.
He is also hesitating, similar to devil, because I don't think he expected that response.
"Heinrix falls silent" - the man is speechless(!). I can't stress that enough. With devil he has a short pause too but here it is longer. He does not get his composure back that fast compared to devil.
"Then he looks away" - just like before when he shot RT a glance out of personal interest until she noticed it and he felt caught and even apologized.
Compare it with devil - he is speechless and looks away with closeness while with devil he only shortly hesitates, tries to show dominance - ready to confront her back when she continues and keeps RT in his eyes.
For someone not wanting to show emotions and rather be controlled he is already giving away a lot here. He is an Interrogator and biomancer. He shows in game that he knows how to read others expressions and body language and he is aware of his own (DLC/bath scene). And still he is giving away clues. I don't really think intentionally as he can't be sure that RT would know how to read it (in the bath scene it is part of a game so he invites her to try to read him so I think he would react a bit different there).
"You have no reason to be." - Another interesting sentence. What does he mean? That RT has no reason to be nervous about feeling attracted to him because he doesn't want to start something with her (although it starts his romance because I think he feels tempted by the prospect she is also interested in him) or to let her know she doesn't need to be concerned he might use this or react in a way that might be hurting her? Or to indicate he feels the same?
To me it doesn't feel like he is shutting her off. He is reserved so I don't think he would really openly admit being into her with this sentence (although his glance before might have already given a hint). Seeing that people often react nervous (because of his position) he is likely happy if someone is not that nervous about him (even if it is out of other reasons) so I would see it as him reassuring her she has nothing to worry/be nervous about him.
While RT shows him here as well that she is interested in him, he doesn't respond like with devil that he is waiting for evidence why she would say something like it. In both cases he can't know for sure why RT would flirt with him - out of genuine interest or with something else in mind. But when I imagine how people in the past might have tried to get something out of him (a favor etc.) I can see them taking a more stronger flirt approach as well, not the slower/long path to be nice. After all, he might not be there that long.
Both
In both devil and closeness cases, if you want him to stay for a longer conversation (only available if you take one of the flirt options at the end!) the text will say he "answers too quickly as if he is eager to end the conversation as soon as possible" indicating (at least to me) that he is in both cases nervous and rather prefers the distance to calm himself and not be tempted. In both devil and closeness cases the romance is started and he seems to be already affected by it (the prospect of having someone being interested in him, making him nervous).
2. Bridge talk
These are romance starters as well.
Devil
Flirt - he is a bit reluctant, not cheeckily flirting back but showing interest in a pleasant conversation at least. He is not shutting RT off, only showing surprise that RT is interested in him.
It is actually nicely written - if RT has not flirted with him before he might be surprised she expressed interest with that flirt. And if she has flirted before with closeness he is surprised she would now flirt that openly as it wasn't like it before. And with devil he might be surprised she still keeps flirting with him (he might even have scolded her before for this same behavior).
I like his response though - you could see it as flirting back (but I don't really think he does, as he at this point is trying to keep himself hardened and focused on his mission) but also as him trying to reflect the flirt and moving the topic from something that could be interpreted as less seemly to "just" a pleasant conversation.
Also interesting that he leaves it up to RT - if she finds the time. But still, he will only offer it (after hesitation) after Kiava Gamma. So it gives me the impression he doesn't really expect her to go for it. I actually miss a dialog option telling him "sure, right now, let's go" to which I suppose he would say, when they both find the time (not that he seems so much occupied standing around the bridge all day).
I think he is testing her a bit - if she is only into sex she might not take him up on a "boring" conversation. Gives me the impression he isn't sure about her intentions. RT is flirty, but does she only want sex? Just making fun of him?
Not that I think he would be opposed to have sex with someone interested, but since it seems he is already attracted to RT (his glance in the first talk in RTs study) he might see that as too dangerous for him to develop feelings and maybe too much of a distraction - he tries to harden himself afterall.
Closeness
This could be seen as flirt but also just as being friendly. I like that he smiles and the way he looks at RT for serval seconds, trying to read her intentions I assume, but also surely be surprised to get such an offer.
He is more guarded here in his response - with devil he says he is not opposed to a conversation, here he says "Perhaps" and only if both have time.
I find it very interesting but I don't think it means devil has him opening up and closeness not.
I think he reacts so guarded because once again closeness path has taken him off guard - with a sincere and unassuming approach, offering him a conversation on his terms, just giving him the opportunity, to have it be his decision without expecting anything mroe of it or him. I think that is disarming him. He doesn't know what to say at first, or maybe trying to see if it is sincere and genuine like it seems.
It is not like devil where he did not expect that level of bluntness (not many people can allow themselves to be like that and of them even less would react that way) but it is more confrontational which he is not really a stranger too but to have someone genuinely (apparently - he can't be sure of that yet) just be nice to him, treating him as a person just for the sake of it (wihout ulterior motives) must be mind-blowing for him.
I think this fits very good to the reluctance of him having this longer conversation - only after Kiava Gamma and there you can see that he is hesitating before he finally offers it. Because he knows it is dangerous for him and it would maybe make him fall or at least care even more.
With devil it sounds like they could have that conversation at any time but he still doesn't - he waits for after Kiava Gamma.
3. Summary part 1
With devil RT is more confrontational, provoking, teasing him. It throws him of his guard first (because who else talks to him like that), but he finds his composure fast (he is no stranger of getting even insulted or provoked) and then shows that he will not back down. His body language is more dominant and confrontational then as well. I think he falls back to his usual Interrogator behavior when he has to deal with persons that are not as cooperationg as he likes to (without him being in a position or having the interest in harming them).
But with closeness it looks like you get for a moment the real, hidden Heinrix. He is speechless for a moment, looking away, showing weakness, vulnerability. He openly shows it with his body language - he, as Interrogator and biomancer! I don't think this is an act. It took him completely by surprise and I think that might also make him afraid a bit because he does try to harden himself.
On one hand he seeks connection, to not be lonely anymore. He wants to be treated like a normal person, not having anyone antagonistic with him or odering him around (like his master). He wants that connection, that conversation. But he is also in the process of hardening himself. He shouldn't want to seek connection, it would mean starting to care and that is the opposite of what he wants to achieve.
Notice that when he flirts it is guarded or imperceptible, he is not openly smiling or laughing, further showing how he tries to hold himself back, hardening him I think but also just being a bit hesitating - think about all the persons he has met, how many of them were truly just nice for no reasons than being nice? Without having any other motive in mind, to use Heinrix in a way for example? So I think he has reasons to be on his guard.

I just started playing as male RT, and I got to say I was rather sad Heinrix was only available for female RT, as I liked the dynamic between my character and Heinrix.
I was wondering, what would a romantic relationship between male RT and Heinrix be like? Will it be exactly the same as female RT or do you think Heinrix would react differently to an interested man?
Hi! Thank you so much for this question - I must say, I haven't really thought about it before.
I can totally understand the disappointment - Heinrix is just awesome. I am glad you already like the dynamic - as in many other RPGs, you usually learn most about a character through romance.
I am not sure if you are aware, but Heinrix has different ways you can flirt with him and you will even get different dialog responses based on how you have flirted with him before (there is a "devil" and a "closeness" counter).
Now, you can mix and match, but the one way is basically teasing him, trying to bring down his defences by provoking him and he will respond in kind. You can even make him blush. You could even imagine a kind of antagonistic (doesn't need to be enemies to lovers but someone maybe not too overly fond of the Inquisition perhaps) relationship between RT and Heinrix with constant teasing, heated arguments that slowly grows into something more, seeing how he is constantly warning RT (not threatening but out of concern for RT) and protecting RT.
Or you can have a more friends to lovers / romantic approach, including hand holding (but he will also do this based on the selected dialog for some devil/teasing flirt options).
The cool thing is that both fits to Heinrix and the player can use them to make it fit to their RT. You can decide if RT kisses him first or he your RT. You can decide how to flirt with him, if you like to have him hand holding or not.
So back to your question - I think he would behave the same.
Even for female RTs he isn't really courting them like e.g. a male RT Cassia. He is of noble origin, he knows the rituals (although to be honest, it might be different from one planet to the next) but he tries so hard to not fall for RT, to keep his distance that he isn't really courting. He kind of stumbles into the romance. I can totally see this playing out the same for a male RT. Depending on the players choice how RT would behave towards Heinrix.
Even with the hand holding - Heinrix is lonely, touch starved and especially with romantic feelings there is just the desire, the need to feel the touch of the one he falls for. Why would this not be the same for a male RT? He might be a little more out of the water regarding showing a male RT his affection, seeing that he is already awkward with females even though he learned the rituals including dancing when he grew up and likely had observed it occasionally too.
But it could also be that there is a similar way to show respect to males? Think about kissing the ring like with the pope. I mean, we have in our world examples as well where males even kissed other males on the mouth out of friendship/respect (at least non romantic). I think such a kiss would be too much for the conversation after Kiava Gamma but it doesn't mean that a hand kiss for a male is completely out of the question. Maybe he knows about something like this, had heard or seen this. Could always be a planetary thing or something more common.
Depending on your head canon if this is more or less common I could see him trying to play it more safely with just holding RTs hand (shaking it but holding it longer than usual) or trying to kiss a ring (if RT is wearing one) and carefully examining how RT reacts. He can always just excuse himself saying it is a form of respect in the circles he has encountered. Or just going ahead exactly like with the female hand kiss - why not? Or not having him kiss the hand at all (depends again on players dialog choice(s)).
So I would say it depends on the RT how exactly Heinrix reacts but I don't think he would behave differently.
This was fun! I hope that answers your question. Thank you again for giving me another excuse to think about this fictional man.

Rogue Trader - act 1 - blade/shard fragment options and affected Heinrix dialog
There are two shards - one from Kunrad at the beginning and one you get in the Electrodynamic Cenobium.
There is an alternate version/option depending on if you pick the first shard up after the battle or not and you can unlock further dialog (flirt!) options with Heinrix with the second shard.
First shard/blade fragement
After the fight on the void ship bridge in the beginning/tutorial you can loot aside from equipment a quest item - a glass shard. It is called "Blade Shard".
You have two options here:
Do not loot the shard - take the equipment but leave the shard behind
If you loot the shard, then you will get soon a "dream" scene in your quarters where you can then decide if you want to keep the shard (heretic option) or throw it away (dogmatic).
2. Loot the shard
If you do not loot the shard you will not get this scene but instead High Factotum Janris will approach you and tell you that he found it and asks you what to do with it.
You then get also dogmatic and iconoclast options to give it to the Inquisition.
The shard is part of a heretic quest (to build a sword at the end, but you need very high or highest heretic level to use it).
But if you keep the shard, you can give it later to Heinrix after recruiting him, when you have the talk in your study. But this only give a short response from him, it doesn't seem to give you any rewards or unlock further dialog.
You might also be able to give it to Heinrix at a later point (bridge
Second shard/blade fragment
This blade is from the Electrodynamic Cenobium at the end of the quest. You can make Heinrix aware of the shard (dogmatic), throw it into the reactor (iconoclast) or take it secretly (heretic).
If you take the dogmatic option, he will thank you during the talk in your study.
If you take the iconoclast option, you can tell him about it (or lie):
If you took it with the heretic option, you can give it to him at this point
-> this opens up a new closeness/devil flirt option and if you take all three devil options new additional dialog for devil in this talk).

I found another usage of the devil/closeness counter - in the act 4 date scene.
Closeness option:
Devil option:
"I like you better when you lose your temper. Do I need to say something heretical to bring you to life?"
I don't know why but changing my devil counter (even with closeness 0) with toybox did not help to get that line. It looks like a closeness/devil etude is relevant, but I haven't found it.
Not regarding flirting but you do get another dialog option to ask Heinrix about what the Lord Inquisitor said to him if you have first triggered the scene between him and the guard on Footfall and then afterwards the date.
Regarding corruption points:
The line "We have one life. I don't want to give all of mine to the imperium with nothing left for myself. Do you? Do you actually want it?" gives one corruption point but it requires 2 points to be available.
