The Evermore Grimoire: Norse Mythology

Gullveig (meaning ‘power of gold’) a female figure in Norse mythology associated with the legendary conflict between the Æsir and Vanir. In the poem Völuspá, she came to the hall of Odin where she was speared by the Æsir, burnt three times, and yet thrice reborn. Upon her third rebirth, she began practicing seiðr (a form of of magic telling and shaping the future) and took the name Heiðr (meaning ‘bright’). Some believed that Gullveig could have been one of Freyja's (goddess of love) incarnations as she wept tears of gold and owned the golden necklace Brísingamen, one of the most precious pieces of jewellery in Old Norse literature. It was she who, according to the Ynglinga Saga, first brought seidr to the Æsir, and who first taught it to Odin (king of Asgard). Thus, the connections between Freyja and Gullveig’s defining characteristics (magic and material wealth) are quite clear, making interrelation of the two quite probable.

Læraðr x Askr

Oh come on they were both born in Yggdrasil, they knew each other, biblically 😉 He is the god of openness and always open for business, Læraðr comes there everyday (OK I’LL STOP). No but they’d be so sweet, Askr would give him the best hugs, Læraðr would brush his hair every morning and every night, and they’d attack random strangers with photos of their kids.

Alfster x Dagr

She called him Alfster it was Alfover. Shes going to make him better but also worse. Alfster legally changes his name to Alfster. Alfonse is the brains, Dagr is the brawn, both are the beauty but Alfonse doesn’t know that about himself yet.

Freyr x Nott

Soft boy and strong, lovesick girl. He’ll give her sweet dreams all day and all night. She’ll recite him poetry while bench pressing a hundred men to the song “Africa” by Toto. Nott will give him piggyback rides, she knows he likes them, but he’s always too embarrassed to ask. Freyja you should probably call it quits before the last thing you see is rocking abs and glorious green hair.

Also @apollo-just-ice convinced me Sharena x Heiðr is pretty sweet.

Alfonse/Líf, Fjorm, Laegjarn, and The Serpent Trio are 100% bisexual. No explaination needed

Freyja is canonically the Goddess of Love in one of her quotes, so there's that

Sharena is probably a panromantic asexual, the idea of this little blob of friendliness having any sexual thought doesn't really sit right in an obvious way

Commander Anna is only attracted to gold

Veronica/Thrasir gives off heavy sapphic vibes (Further backed up by Veronica's Bride Alt) so maybe bisexual but prefers girls

Thanks to that one fanartist who ships EirFjorm. I now believe in Eir being sapphic

Peony and Mirabillis probably haven't been taught about the birds and the bees yet

Triandra and Plumeria are asexual, they want cute fluff over nasty smut

Reginn and Dagr are 100% sapphic while rest of the Book 5 cast are as straight as a line

Heiðr is innocent incarnate so she's in the same waiting room as Peony and Mirabillis

Hi Becky! Thank you for the question! Sorry I took so long to answer! I have been wanting to but wasn't sure how I should go about it lol ended up with a one sim in two styles! Almost doesn't even look like I used the same sim 😅 I also ended up making this way too long so I put all the cc and ramblings under the cut!

I don't use that many but here is what I use on basically all my sims!

Heiðr Eyes - @eirflower These default eyes are so pretty and I have used them for quite a while now.

Eyelashes - @kijiko-sims I have tried other eyelashes before but I feel like none ever come close to these!

Eyebrows - @stretchskeleton | Updated Brows - @whoismae The ones used below are Eyebrows #2. I also use eyebrows by @twisted-cat or just EA ones.

Makeup:

Most of the makeup I use is by @crypticsim along with some other must haves. Here are some of my favorites!

Homecoming Eyeshadow | Default Eyeshadow + Beer Eyeliner | Passionfruit Liner | May 15th Eyeliner + Bride Lipstick | Celeste Lipstick

Subtle Blush - @tragicsimblr This is basically the only blush I use since I don't usually like how blush looks (on my self and my sims lol) and I only just want something that is well, subtle!

Highlighter - @litttlecakes My all time favorite! I only use this or the in game highlighter. I used it for the look on the right.

All the makeup I mentioned above is showcased on the below :)

Hair:

Most of the hairs I use are by @aharris00britney because I feel like his hairs work well together as in making your sim look like they have the same cut of hair just styled differently if that makes sense? I didn't really showcase it here but for example, you can find many hairs with similar length and bangs to work well together for different outfits for your sim. Anyways, the hairs I used here were the Marie Hair and Jules Hair

Jewelry:

I have lots of different jewelry in my game but here are the ones that stay in my game after doing a cc clean out.

Plumbob Jewelry Set - @kumikya I love all the jewelry from this creator! I always use the plumbob earrings at least once on a sim's outfit since they are very simple but oh so cute.

BG Necklaces Overrides - maushasims I use the standalone version of these necklaces and I have them all since they work well with most outfits.

Double Pierce Earrings - @blogsimplesimmer I think you can tell by now that I like simple jewelry 😅

Double Choker - Loverettsims This choker is such a staple piece! I think mostly everyone has had this in their game at some point but I love it so much and I love chokers so this is a must have for me

Pearl & Diamond Necklace - @batsfromwesteros I didn't use this necklace below but it is an honorable mention since it has become a recent favorite! I love nice pearl necklaces and this one looks amazing on all sims!

Shoes:

Anton Shoes Highcut & Lowcut - liliili-sims I used the highcuts below but I absolutely love both versions! I love the maxis match look of these and they look similar to converse shoes (which I also love) so these are usually my go to for sneakers

Leather Sandals V04 - @jius-sims This creator makes tons of nice shoes and I have quite of bit of them in my cc folder :)

I also wanted to mention @dallasgirl79. I use a lot of her shoes in game. I just didn't showcase any here. Evelyn Sandals - Tied are by far my fave from this creator!

Clothes:

Lastly, I have loads of clothes cc. It is what I have the most of in my cc folder and from lots of different creators. The creators I have the most clothes from though are @trillyke and from the cc packs by @aharris00britney and @ayoshi.

Her name means "maiden", so she was probably a version of Freyja being worshiped by younger women and girls, where they would move on to Freyja at the right age or after marriage ***Dutch name for Ostara/Eostre

loved revealing during my last lancer session that my character, who aside from being clearly autistic is usually the most well-adjusted normie kind of person that a mech pilot could possibly be, really kind of openly wants to fuck their mech to a degree that even the other pilots don't understand. and my character fully believes their feelings are normal.
