Tremors pass through Artair as he's forced to meet Ares' gaze. His mouth leaks with blood that drips down his lips, both from the slices to his face and from his earlier incisor clamping down onto his tongue. It streaks down his chin and at the corners of his mouth.

The line of his lips wavers and thins until they're white and bloodless, where they're not stained already. It's all he has that's him right now, really. His eyes can no longer move, he's in fucking agony between his face and legs and just being here at all, and he is still so still. But he doesn't answer when he is asked if he understands. It's the one thing he can do, disobey how he can.

His skin crawls, and nausea crashes against him in waves, as Ares comes closer, lays closer down on him. It's familiar in a way he can't stand. He wants to throw up-- and he does. Bile spills in his mouth he has to swallow. The shaking is unmanageable. "I.... love it. When. You...ghh--- tear me to---to pieces."

The words strangle, fought as each syllable takes shape in his mouth. The smile on Ares' face summons more acid and a dizzy spinning in his head and pain that severs clean through his skull. He's light-headed from the fear, already with a headache where he hit the ground under Ares and---- his body seizes, what pieces of it he has say over, as those nails drag along him beneath his shirt. The pressure and tension that weaves their way through him has him immobile except for the scant breaths, leaving him in stressed and strained gasps. He's sick-- he's going to be sick-- stop touching him--- he can't--- he can't bare this just stop touching him please--. The gentle touch is just a preamble and he knows how horrible it can get. Will become. He's shaking so much he can hardly speak the next command.

"Pl--- ghhhk--- pl-please Ares..... h-----hurt me." He clamps his jaw after what little he says, keeping the words limited to just the bare minimum. He-- doesn't want to say more. Sparks light his gaze. The green eye's sclera is growing dark as the yellow's lights up. His back aches both from the drop and something itching to come out. He cannot move. His teeth bare in a bloodied grimace, as he looks Ares in the eyes because he has no other choice. His fingernails dig into the ground between everything he feels, and the muscles beneath Ares's hand jump as if trying to move away from him.

Ares is harsh and unwavering over him as he awaits his response. He doesn't even respond to Artair's crying, when he would often take the opportunity to torment him about it. And there isn't a single ounce of remorse within him. Not that it was unusual for Ares, but the lack thereof feels far more frightening when the vampire is being so serious.

But then, Artair relinquishes just a bit in the form of opening his eyes. It soothes his rage to some degree, however small, and he takes the opportunity to yank the other's head fast enough that he can't help but to meet his hypnotic gaze. "There. Do not look away from my eyes unless I tell you to. Do you understand?" A small smile returns to him, and even his voice has regained it's silky quality.

His posture relaxes a bit as well, on top of his pet. Ares lays more easily on top of him, in an almost playful manner. "It is a rare treat seeing you cry like this, isn't it? Always trying to be so brave... but I suppose if you weren't at least a little feisty you wouldn't be nearly as fun to break, over and over again..... Say it. Tell me how much you love it when I tear you to pieces." His smile is growing back into a toothy grin once more, one that would be charming in any other situation.

"Beg me to tear you open, right now." He commands in a soft voice, clawed fingers trailing up under the front of Artair's shirt and splaying against the skin of his stomach. "Just like you used to. Please, Ares..."

A1: Introduce the characters from one of your current WIPs in one or two sentences each. 

Okay let's gooo,,, I'll do The Keepers cause I haven't talked about that one as much. These aren't gonna be the best descriptions but whatever 

Ketsler: Quirky, fun-loving, everyone's weird grandpa, but also the most powerful person to have ever lived. He's old- so very, very old- and he's seen so much over all the centuries he has been protecting the worlds from Chaos, but he still makes an effort to slow down and appreciate the little things around him, because he knows better than most how fleeting life is.

Skylar: Skylar is from a world where faerie circles are real and witches turn people into frogs and trolls live in great, big castles and are slain by talking cats, a world where there's too much adventure to stay in one place, too many people to meet, and too many monsters to slay to stop running. He may be only a human (ooo mystery!!) but he is proficient in Wind magic and carries around a good bit of rune stones he and his pet dragon have found along his adventures. 

Felix: Felix is just a normal human from a small town after the earth becomes united under one world power. He wasn't born with superpowers like most soldiers are, but he was still skilled enough to join a special force working behind enemy lines when the rebellion made its move to free the planet from the tyranny that built this dystopian reality. 

Betty: A very sweet young lady, she's from a planet that was colonized by humans centuries ago. She may seem naive, but Betty can read anyone like a book and uses her gift to help those who are lost find themselves again. 

There's more characters but I'll just stick with those main ones cause I really struggle with descriptions xD

A2: Who's your favorite character to write and why?

Probably Joden? I haven't written most of my characters, but I looove writing his dialogue. He also makes me think so I can keep him clever lol

A10: What’s your character development process like? (As in how you develop them, not necessarily their development in-story)

I roleplay them! The more developed they are, the more I've acted as them. It really gets me inside their head to try and think like how they think, and that results in me being more equipped to "discover" why they are like that. 

A12: What kind of internal conflict does your character go through (want versus need, personality complexes or strong personality flaws/��fatal flaw” kinda thing)? How does this affect them?

It really varies depending on the character? For example Joden has this need to always have a plan, always be in control, and a breaking moment for him comes in when he finally just,,, doesn't know what to do. He's in over his head and the only thing he can do is trust Jacer to do what he can- knowing Jacer doesn't have things under control. 

So that's an example of a flaw that the character gets to overcome, but there also characters whose flaws are part of who they are. Skylar wouldn't be Skylar if he weren't stubborn. Ketsler wouldn't be Ketsler if he weren't arrogant. They never grow out of these flaws, they just learn to control them. Or I guess not be controlled by the flaw. 

This is actually something I think I struggle with for my characters, giving them those visable flaws. I see other people's characters that start out "bad" and grow into heroes, but it kinda seems like all my characters start out as heroes. 😅 I mean, they have flaws, but in comparison to other people's characters they feel really bland in that aspect. Idk

A14: Ramble about your characters. Anything special you like about them? Random little details you’ve added that you enjoy? 

Uh,,, I don't even know where to start I just love all of them for so many various reasons. Joden is just a clever little genius but he still can be so naive. He just has simple pleasures and it's not hard to make him laugh or smile and practically impossible to discourage him. He starts off just,,, wanting his old life back and then he sees what the world is like outside his little bubble and the bubble pops. He sees the atrocities for what they are and to be able to settle down again, he has to fix it. He can't just smile and do as he's told, he can't let the bad guys win. It I just his mother and wife and son he's fighting for, it's the entire wood and the idea of being actually, truly, free.

Jacer is so savvy, he knows what to do and what to say to get into and out of any situation, but at the same time he's just clueless when it comes to genuine connection. He's a princeling who's really never had a friend and now he's saving the world with Joden who only knows how to make genuine connections. Why does he have to keep hugging me??  

And Twylla who's ready to fight anything so she can get her clever idiot husband back? 

Adric who's just doing his best to be a good leader but everything keeps going wrong. He wasn't born to be a king, he wasn't born to lead an army, he always had his big brother to help him do these things and he's gone- he's gone and he's not coming back he messed up again so bad and yet here he is with everyone looking to him for answers and he doesn't know what to tell them. But he's got his friends, and he's got a good heart, and he genuinely cares and they're going to figure it out.

Skylar just keeps running forward and he never looks back at the past he just jumps from one adventure to another stopping the monsters and saving the day. He's got Gigi what more does he need? 

Felix is just,,, he's just such a nice guy. Over and over he stepped into the gap because someone's gotta fly that fighter, someone's got to fire that gun, someone's got to stabilize the bomb, someone's going to lose their life to ensure the victory, why shouldn't it be him? But he never actually dies, somehow he always survives and lives to fight the next day, and the next day and the next day, and then they win the war- the world is free. And even though he's been through so much he still hasn't lost that kindness, that love for all life that makes him himself. He still falls in love and starts a family and has his own beloved children… and even when he loses them he still doesn't become cynical. He still stands in the gap and is the one to fire the gun, to hold the hand of the one who's mourning, to scoop up the orphan child and carry them home. He fights, so others don't have to. Father to the fatherless and hero for all. Also he puts up with Skylar's time traveling craziness lol

And Ketsler? Unlike everyone else he never chose to be a hero. What are you supposed to do when you're a four year old boy and everyone tells you you're the hero they've been waiting for, praying for, you have to save them. It wasn't at all his choice to be born with the power of the universe running through his veins. To hold the Inness in his hands and bend reality to his will. But he didn't run away. He never hid from his destiny. He took the world onto his shoulders and never set it down. Only once- and he's never going to do it again. Never going to ask someone to fill in his role for him, it is his burden to bear… Except not anymore. Despite being multi-millenniums old, all that time didn't dull his appreciation for the little things. A baby's smile, sunshine through the leaves, the change of the seasons. The union of two souls in marriage, or the colors of the sunset streaking a foreign sky. He still sees these things, loves these things, fights for these things. Cause it's the little things he's fighting for, not just the big things. The precious moments and precious lives that make up the worlds. One of his apprentices asked him once, he'd been fighting for so long, when was it going to end? It's not his job to strike the final blow, to end the suffering and bloodshed, just to help. He saves the world, so that he can save it again. 

I have… several more characters I'd love to ramble about but that answer's gotten pretty long so I'll cut it off there. XD

B3: Do you have any plot twists? No need to describe them, just think about what kind of reaction you want from your readers. 

Oh I was just talking to August about this the other day. XD There is one plot twist in the Keeper's story I'm reeaaally looking forward to hehe I want to make people confused and then really mad when the whole thing is stretched out. >:) 

C8: Does magic exist in your world? Who can use it? How does it work?

It really depends on which WIP, but in general I like to keep magic restricted with rules. Joden's story and the Keeper's story are in the same universe (along with ThRoG) and follows that magic system. It's too complicated to go in depth here, but "magic" exists in another plane of existence, and things in the material world have varying levels of connection with it. It's kinda the energy that holds all worlds together and sustains life. The magic realm- the Inness is not a place where physical matter should exist, only spirits can walk there. 

Wizards are creatures that stand with one foot in the physical realm and the other in the Inness. Tevlar is destroying the world basically by turning it inside out- pulling the Inness out.

C11: Have you developed historical figures? How do you develop them? How in-depth do you go?

Oh yes. I am a complete history nerd so if any world EXISTS it has history, and history only happens because people. 

Sometimes it's a thought through process of "somebody needs to go here" and sometimes it's an npc from a time travel rp that took on more importance than I originally intended. 

It really varies how in depth it will go? Sometimes it's just a name to fill a spot and other times it's like, man I could write a whole book about this guy!

One historical figure would be Ares of the Pegasus. He was a powerful warrior that won a bunch of wars and united the different pegasus clans under his leadership and became the first king. He's really famous and people like naming their kids after him in a kinda superstitious hope they'll grow into attributes of his character. Ares is the male form of the name, Aris is for girls. It's like, the most common Pegasian name. XD

D6: Are there any writing styles that inspire you?

Probably the first writing style I wanted to emulate was Tolkien's, but I also really liked Andrew Peterson's? Tolkien is so dramatic, and Peterson isn't heavy on location descriptions, so I'm kinda aiming for in between I guess.

I would imagine trolls aren’t ticklish so if marvus found out alien reader was really ticklish would he be a little shit and take advantage of it?

As to troll biology:

Ok so after thinking about this for a bit, I think that trolls are ticklish when they’re younger, especially when they’re just past their first molt, because that’s new skin!! It’s sensitive!!! However, as they get older, their skin starts to toughen up a bit, and in Marvus case (as he’s essentially a fully mature troll), its rare that one will be very ticklish. Especially with how high up the hemospectrum he is: tougher skin to pierce is also tougher to draw reactions from. There’s a couple of weak points if you know where to look, but by contrast, humans are nothing but weak points.

As to how he found out:

You thought you were safe to sneak a glance at your palmhusk with Marvus seemingly absorbed in a notebook. Somehow, though, without looking up, he plucked it out of your hands and pulled it out of your reach, drawing a groan from you.

“told ya, full digi lockdown”

“I don’t know why I have to be offline too if you’re the one working right now.” You grumble, leaning your head against his leg. You’re both currently sprawling out on his couch, for once not backstage but actually at his hive. You can hear his lusus just outside, chittering as it paced the shoreline. 

“told ya lmao, got the attention span of a fxxkin wriggler and if there’z anythin buzzin or beepin ain’t never gonna get this shizz written.” Out of habit his hand cards absently through your hair, but you can tell his minds elsewhere, scrawling something on the page and biting on his lip. It’s rare to see him this intense. Even on stage his persona tends more towards casual and breezy, like he couldn’t care less about the straight fire coming out of his mouth. His hair is tied back, and his makeup is off, which is only adding to the oddity of this scenario. For once your clown looks like a normal person…..well, as normal as the horns and fangs and grey skin will allow.

“don’t most people hire songwriters for this exact reason.” You say, rolling on your back. 

He shoots you an offended look out of the corner of his eye as scratches something out. “ain’t finna perform it if i ain’t writin it”

“Alright, alright, you’re an artist, I get it.” You tap his knee. “Is Marvus in? I’d like to speak with him and not this uber serious workaholic he’s been replaced with.”

Despite himself you can see a grin tugging at the corners of his mouth. He pokes your forehead with the pen. “gimme thirty. take a munchies break then.”

You sigh. “Fine.” Sitting up a bit to jerk a blanket over yourself, you rest your head in his lap and close your eyes. “wake me up when its done.”

He chuckles faintly, returning his attention to the notebook.

You must’ve been more tired than you thought, because moments later, you’re out like a light. Absolutely comatose, when you suddenly awake to a hand drumming your stomach lightly. With a sudden, half-awake splutter, you jerk your legs and arms in to cover the vulnerable spot, with such intensity and speed that you fall off the edge of the couch.

“uh….hehe, dan, u ok?”

You blink hard, trying to figure out what the hell just happened. Rolling onto your back, you see Marvus looking down at you curiously.

“….right, uh….” Your face feels bright red and probably is. You pull yourself back onto the couch. “You done?”

“ye. bridge needs little sumn-sumn but i gotta eat.” He rolled his shoulder back, grimacing a bit as it popped into place. “hell waz that about tho”

“Uh…nothin, just a bit tick-”

In hindsight, you could probably have predicted how that would turn out. If you’re lucky he’ll let you catch your breath in ten minutes or so. 

As to whether or not he takes advantage of it:

Hmm, does your clown, trickster, asshole boyfriend take advantage of you being ticklish? One of science’s great mysteries. Results inconclusive. Needs more testing. Will, definitely get more testing.

HOMESTUCK MAP UPDATE

Oh boy, I just saw banditAffiliate’s post on the Omegaupdate forums linking to the Homestuck map...

If that's what I think it is... MAP UPDATE?!

Wow... that's been a long time since it was last updated. God, we've had so much time to speculate on what the remaining Act titles would be, it's kinda crazy that we're finally finding out the real canon names now!

I made a speculation post once about what I thought the different act names would be, but I don't remember where I posted it.

In any case, my favorite guesses are: "there's no place like home" or "F1X TH1S" for Act 6 Act 6 Intermission 4, "why is everything always so wonderful" for Act 6 Act 6 Intermission 5, and "THANKS FOR PLAYING" for Act 7. Act 6 Act 6 Intermission 3 and Act 6 Act 6 Act 6 will probably be named as GAME OVER and Collide respectively. And I imagine that Act 6 Act 6 Act 5 will be "The Masterpiece" or something like that.

For the others I didn't have a really good idea what it could be, but let's find out!

Also, I wonder if the Credits flash will be indicated on here too?

I doubt this is the "thing" Andrew hinted to be working on to release along with Hiveswap though, exciting though it is. :P

Oh boy, I already immediately spot a difference!

"Side 1"! That's new! Before this, we just had Part 1 and Disc 1, now we've got another distinction! Hah, it has the Fourth Wall as a symbol! So, probably to differentiate pre-scratch from post-scratch! Makes sense, seeing as that's close to the halfway point through the comic! Heh, so for side 2 it'll probably be a broken fourth wall symbol then, starting from Act 6! Even fits with the title of Act 6 Act 1, "Through Broken Glass", haha! :D

I like how the "Parts", "Discs" and "Sides" all have their own unique symbols to differentiate them.

Also, I just realized that means we'll have a "Disc 3" (AKA the Act 6 Act 6 cartridge) as well on this.

I wonder if there are any other differences to the map, I mean, uptil Act 6 Intermission 5? Eh, probably not, I'm assuming this will be the only difference, for the Acts that were already on it.

Still really curious how the remaining Acts will be handled on this map though!

Hehe, I forgot that for Act 6 Act 3 there were those two images of B2 Jack Noir right next to each other. Pretty funny, before and after his murder on the poor innocent regulator. xD

What with the pseudo-symbols the act acts of Act 6 have, I wonder if the act act acts (and/or act act intermissions) of act 6 act 6 will have any pseudo-symbols? ...Maybe they'll just be a Caliborn head every time, like the ones from the Act 6 Act 6 cartridge like plainWonder suggested to me just now. xD

Now we're getting into the really interesting territory, time to see what the names of the remaining intermissions and acts are!

Also, I'm kinda curious if Part 3 continues all the way until the end, or not? plainWonder has an interesting suggestion that Act 6 Act 6 onwards will be a separate Part 4! Let's see.

Oh hell yes, I almost didn't expect it, but Part 3 DOES end together with Act 6 Intermission 5, along with Disc 2 obviously.

And now... time for the most exciting part!!!! Act 6 Act 6 onwards, including Disc 3 (Cartridge 1? :P) and Part 4 (oooh boy! Which player symbols will be used for that? All Kids plus the Cherubs plus the main Trolls?)!

Also, I first suggested Side 2 to go all the way to the end, but I'm kinda wondering if it's gonna turn into Side 3 when the retcon happens?

And yup, Caliborn's dark green colour to contrast the bright green colours from before, makes sense!

Oooooooooh, there's Act 6 Act 6 Act 1! Homosuck as the title! Yeah, that one was to be expected (though I forgot to mention it at the top of my post :P).

Apparently the symbols associated with Part 4 are the Cherub cheeks! I was kinda surprised by that, but yeah, it probably signifies both the predominated Caliborn as well as Alternate Calliope! Pretty clever!

Heh, looks like Caliborn's cheeks are the pseudo-symbol of Act 6 Act 1, and possibly of the next Act Acts as well.

I like that the Act Acts have their own separate panel symbols beneath them, that's great!

Niiiiiiiiiice, "Stardust" as the title for Act 6 Act 6 Intermission 1! I like it, short but sweet! The idea that it would reference the glitches seemed reasonable to me before, but somehow I hadn't thought of the possibility that it would, quite simply, be titled "Stardust", haha. :D

And I really like that Grimbark Jade is the symbol of that Intermission. She did quite heavily appear during it, after all!

And heh, there's "Supercartridge", pfffffff. It's like Caliborn himself put the "super" in front of it, haha.

Ahahahahaha, I love the panel images chosen for this intermission. I'm especially cracking up about the fact that the John kissing John panel is included, ahahaha.

Act 6 Act 6 Act 2 = LOSHIT! Yup, seems about right, haha! :D

PFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF, THE SHITTY HORSE AS THE PSEUDO-SYMBOL OF IT. HELL YES. I'm pleasantly surprised that it's not the Caliborn cheeks again! Though on the other hand, maybe I shouldn't have expected that seeing as the pseudo-symbol of each act (act (act)) is always unique, it seems.

Hahaha, all those John faces as the panel symbols.

Act 6 Act 6 Intermission 2 = theres problems! Oooooooooooooooh! Oh man, yeah, that title makes A LOT OF SENSE. That IS the perfect fit. I mean, that basically describes the entire Intermission AND it's a nice quote from the comic itself. I love it.

Also, man, I really like that Crockertier Jane is the symbol of this Intermission while Grimbark Jade was the symbol for the previous one! I wonder if the Condesce is going to be the symbol of any of the upcoming Intermissions or Act 6 Act 6 Act 6 (as an alternative for Lord English)!

Once again I think the panel images to represent the Intermission are really well chosen!

Something about those two Gamzee images right next to each other cracks me up though, I'm not sure what. :P

Act 6 Act 6 Act 3 = GOD'S GIFT TO THE YAOIS. PERFECTION. THAT'S ALL THERE REALLY IS TO SAY ON THE MATTER. ESPECIALLY THE COPYRIGHT SYMBOL AS THE PSEUDO-SYMBOL. BRILLIANT.

Hehe, yeah I was expecting his self-insert to be a panel image here, haha.

Oooooooh, look at Act 6 Act 6 Intermission 3! I'm pretty surprised that the image shows John VS Caliborn and not Aranea VS Condesce. On the other hand, I guess that's probably the least spoilerful image you could use from the flash while still giving a good depiction of it, haha!

I'm especially a great fan of how the rectangle around it is a little part green (to signify the John VS Caliborn parts), and a big part gray (to signify the Intermission parts)! That's pretty clever!

....Oh! So there are separate panel images for this Act! I didn't expect that, what with how there weren't many pages in it.

And uh, nevermind what I said about the lacking Aranea VS Condesce part and spoilerful stuff, haha.

Act 6 Act 6 Act 4 = DARK NIGHT OF THE FEELINGS... Yup, sounds about right. And so is the image next to it. xD

Also, calcoins as the pseudo-symbol, haha! Yeah, I can dig that! It even fits with the other "c" symbol for the previous act act act. And it also fits in with how the earliest acts had grist symbols, which are also a kind of currency!

And oooooooh, Echidna as the symbol of the Intermission is unexpected but pretty sweet!

Ooooh, I like that those images that Shelby drew are also featured as panel images here!

Ahahahaha, I love the John hugging Dave as panel image, with John from the panel image right next to it similarly looking over all like "dude what are you doing" xD

Once again, really, really great panel images! Like plainWonder said, row 5 is the greatest. :P

The last image reminds me of how at some point I'd also considered "She's 8ack" as the title for this Intermission, hehe. I mean, I guess it could also work as title for Act 6 Act 6 Intermission 5? Though seeing as those are words from the Intermission prior to it, probably not.

And yup, as was to be expected, "MASTERPIECE" is the title for Act 6 Act 6 Act 5! I love how little clay Caliborn is the pseudo-symbol for it.

And those symbols for it! I love them, ha! Especially how those last two images are basically: LORD ENGLISH. CONFIRMED.

At first I'd thought the symbol for the [nostrike][S][/nostrike] MSPA Reader: Mental breakdown would have been the MSPA Reader himself, but I can deal with this one. xD

Ooooooooooh, so the title of Act 6 Act 6 Intermission 5 IS "She's 8ack"! Huh, pretty surprised about that one! I mean, yeah that's basically a big part of the Intermission, but those arc words are rather from the Intermission before it. Eh, whatever! :D

I love the combination of that title and the image for it though. SO SMUG. xD

Also, I guess "why is everything always so wonderful" probably would have been too long a title.

Oh hell yes, I'm happy to see that Jasprosesprite^2 and Davepetasprite^2 get their own panel images! And even GCatvrosprite!!! I like how Jasprosesprite's first image fits with the Dave/Dirk image next to it, hehe.

Pfffffffff, then there's a whole row of pictures of the sprites in the B2 session, and then the image of pre-retcon Tavros with the ghost army right between it like he's awkward to be between all those sprite images. xD

Wooooow, and those epic images of the Matriorb, Terezi and Vriska hugging, the Condesce being pissed off with right beneath it the epic Lord English image...

You know, I think Act 6 Act 6 Intermission 5 is my favorite one out of all the new ones on the map (so far)! I really love everything about this one, the image, the title, all the panel images... awesome.

The only blasphemy about this is that there is no image of the hug between Arquiusprite and Davepetasprite^2, the best moment in Homestuck history. :P

That's the biggest surprise out of this entire map!!! I mean, I definitely wasn't expecting this confirmation, but I'm really glad we did get this! I was like 99% sure the title was just going to be "THANKS FOR PLAYING".

And hell yeah, I like the fact that the white house is the pseudo-symbol for this.

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH, oh hell yes, I'm glad the Credits receive their own part in this! "Post Canon" as the title, hehe.

Hell fucking yes.

Okay, this entire map was an amazing ride from start to finish, I'm so happy that Andrew finally got around to finishing it!!!

Amazing choices for act titles, symbols of the acts, the panel images... there's nothing I don't really like about it, it's just AWESOME! :D
