I love that it starts out as legit “barely out of college young adult who looks old panics over granddaughter’s instructors, kidnaps them” and ends with “it’s been fun but we’d like to go home now, we’ll miss you,” and he lets them leave because the entire Ian and Barbara story arc was just the Doctor learning to love humanity’s whimsical attitude and genuinely allowing himself to care.

And yet you also have moments such as

Attempts to kill someone with a rock

Duels his robot doppelgänger with their canes

Almost becomes a museum exhibit

Accidentally got engaged over hot chocolate
