KyoMado sick fic, inspired by @hedgehog666’s prompt they dmed to me ^^

I have never read, nor written a sick fic as they’re not really my thing, but it sounded so cute with KyoMado that I wanted to give it a shot. I wrote this all on my phone so it’s not the most professional writing of mine (I haven’t proofread it loo), but it’s just a fun little fic I wanted to try out. Hope you like it :3

Kyoko has a nasty flu and it’s up to Madoka to cure her sickness with soup, pain killers, and love.

It was supposed to be a simple sleep over.

All the girls had come over to Madoka’s for a slumber party. Mami brought her delicious home baked good as usual. Sayaka brought a whole collection of movies ranging from romcoms, to action adventure, to thrillers, for them to watch all night. Homura brought some homework she needed to catch up on. And Kyoko brought snacks for all of them to enjoy.

It was perfect, thought Madoka.

Well, she did feel bad for Homura bringing work along with her, but she figured she would be able to help her with some of it anyway.

They enjoyed the Friday night, laughing, eating snacks, watching movies and gossiping all into the late hours of the night.

The next morning, Kyoko woke up with a fever.

The girls tried to help her out of bed, but it was no use, as she felt too unwell to move. Mami, Kyoko’s housemate, could only leave it up to Madoka to care for Kyoko over the weekend.

They were at least able to get Kyoko into Madoka’s bed, so the pink haired girl tended to her whenever she needed food or water.

Madoka gingerly knocked on the door during the afternoon. “I have some soup for you, Kyoko-chan.”

She opened the door and found the red head on her side, her wild hair matted and poking out in all sorts of directions

Kyoko groaned and rolled over, “Ugh, thank you Madoka. You’re a life sav-ACHOO!”

Madoka winced at the amount of snot she expelled. The red head reached for some tissues as Madoka sat next to her to feed her the soup.

Kyoko’s eyes widened. “Uh, I can drink it myself...”

Madoka moved back, stuttering over her response. “A-ah, sorry. It’s just whenever I’ve been this sick, my Papa has always helped me drink my soup.”

Kyoko looked away, blinking with an unknown expression on her face. Madoka stared at her, until the red head replied. “That’s alright, I get it. But I feel well enough to feed myself, so don’t worry about it.”

Madoka smiled apologetically, and gave the soup to the other girl. She lifted the bowl weakly, and slowly moved the spoon toward her mouth.

Madoka reached over for the medicine on the side of the table as the girl sipped the broth. “Have you taken your meds yet?”

Kyoko cleared her throat and scoffed. “As if, I don’t need them.” She looked away again and shifted uncomfortably in her seat, eyeing the medicine regrettably.

Madoka sighed, lowering the meds. “But you’ll feel much better once you do. It’s important to help you fight the fever!”

“Yeah, well, I’ve been sick before, and I’ve never needed to take medicine.” She responded, shrugging it off and sipping more soup. “I can only rely on myself.”

“Kyoko-chan!” Madoka insisted, grabbing the girls attention immediately. “You are very sick and you need to take care of yourself properly, and that means you have to let others help you!”

Kyoko fell silent as Madoka continued.

“You can’t just rely on yourself, it’s okay to lean on somebody else…”

Madoka’s expression and posture changed as she said that, her eyes becoming sad and shoulders drooping. She looked up at Kyoko with the same expression, and Kyoko felt something in her stir.

“Damn…” she muttered.

‘Why does she always have to go and make herself look like a lost puppy?’

Kyoko sighed and held out her hand, “Okay, I’ll take them.”

Madoka’s eyes lit up, and she smiled softly. She handed her a glass of water and the pain killers. “I’m glad,” she said gently.

Kyoko’s hand brushed hers, and she couldn’t tell if it was the fever or that action that made her feel suddenly much warmer.

“Thank you…” she muttered, drinking from the glass and then taking the medication.

She let out a big sigh, the energy she had in her already spent. Her back and legs began to ache again, and she groaned.

Madoka noticed how tired she looked, and stood up, getting ready to leave.

“Wait… Madoka…” Kyoko whispered, making the girl look over at her.

“Can you… grab a wet towel for me, and put it on my forehead��?”

Madoka blinked back, realising that she had forgotten to do that one thing for her. “O-oh, of course! I’ll be right ba-“

“My father and mother used to do that for me… when I was little…” Kyoko continued, her eyes closing, too weak to keep them open.

Madoka stared at her, her insides suddenly feeling hollow. She didn’t know much about Kyoko’s past, but enough to know her family was no longer with her. It made Madoka more appreciative of her family, and the fact she still had them. It made her want to take care of Kyoko as well, like she was able to have a family out of Madoka too.

She approached Kyoko, her heart feeling like it was pouring out to the now sleeping girl. She brushed her hand gently, and patted her head. “I’m sorry, Kyoko-chan, I shouldn’t have forgotten.”

She smiled and cupped her cheek, unable to make sense of her actions. “I’ll be right back.”
