Drimo reference sheet
Drimo is the ninth and last child that Inari and Tsukoyomi before the latter vanished in space, therefor does Drimo not know her dad well enough aside from the times he read her stories and tested her capabilities, which makes her wish that she could be able to have spent more time with him. Drimo was built a bit simpler to be able to have a sturdier body, but that just made her look small and what others might say, child-like, something she finds really annoying (it doesn't help that she has some interests that can be childish). She was also the one who came up with the shortenings of most of her sibling's names, which Dawol found silly at first only to warm up to it as she and Drimo grew closer (and it also amuses the wolf sister how it annoys Inari when they don't use the name she gave them). Likes:
Performing her job
Fairy tales
Lava cakes
Gummy worms
Fairy bread
Spending time with her family
Dislikes:
Obnoxious people
Cringe
Anywhere she couldn't go through
Being ignored
Being treated as a child

November journal
Hello everyone, it's now November and I hope you all had a fun Halloween. I was planning on finishing the new chapter of Heavenly Kyuubi last month but I forgot the fact I can get distracted a lot more than I want to admit. At least when it comes to work but I seem less distracted when streaming, which I hope you have enjoyed if you stumbled upon my streams on Twitch. So what now? I might be able to finish the new Heavenly Kyuubi chapter this month as well as finish the script for the chapter after this one. In the meanwhile, I might be posting the pilot on the places I haven't posted it to. Note that any new chapters will be posted mainly on Newgrounds and it's own dedicated Tumblr blog (unless I find a good site for webcomics). I do want to make other comics but considering how my work with just Heavenly Kyuubi is like, don't expect something as big as that one. Even if I still want to show stories focusing on my sonas Alexis and Cyborg-Lucario (his origin that is, which was something I have tried to work with for the longest of times). There's also the game project I want to do, which I think I might start again on this month. I hope for the best. Jobs? Well, maybe I will be able to get one, but on the other hand, some of the ones that helped me out the previous years when my economy was shit do think that I might as well focus on my comics and game as long as I got my insurance. I mean, I do understand that it's hard to get a job for a long while, I did say earlier in this journal that I can be easily distracted, which was something that I got diagnosed while I was at work practice for... three years? Was it really three years? I blame bureaucracy for them to decide if my issues are valid for an insurance this slowly. Okay, being able to go out more often would be good as one of them said (while also thinking what I try to do is exciting). When it comes to that game, I promise to show some progress of it whenever possible. I hope to do my best this month, and the month after as well. I also hope that you all will do your best no matter what your jobs/hobbies are. Until next time, see ya!

Mini ficlet: [prompt] Marriage
Summary: Madara and Hashirama get married in the afterlife. Fluff, slightly cracky.
-x-
In their time most marriages had nothing to do with love; marriage was an exchange of (women) property used to foster alliances and continue bloodlines. If the couple happened to have feelings for each other, that was just a bonus. Though for many clans outside the Uchiha the two realms of love and marriage had been kept entirely separate, to the point where an excess of feeling for one’s wife would lead to a man being considered a stick-in-the-mud.
Madara had never married. That he was not, and never had been, attracted to women had been irrelevant. His clan had expected him to take a wife and sire children. While he had done most anything else for his people, this he had vehemently refused. He would not bring more children into the world purely so they could be raised for slaughter.
Hashirama’s marriage to Uzumaki Mito had not been arranged, but it hadn’t been a love match either. In the wake of the battle at the Valley of the End, the ambassador from Uzushiogakure had made the great sacrifice of sealing the Kyuubi into herself—a feat echoed only in myths of the Sage of Six Paths. In order to provide security and protection to a friend he respected greatly, Konoha’s First Hokage put aside his grief and wed the foxbride. They had cared for one another deeply, if not in the fashion appropriate for husband and wife.
In the end no official title or piece of paper would’ve sufficed to explain their devotion to one another. Yet in the timelessness of the Pure Land, such marriages were not only possible, but common and celebrated.
Madara looked over the table at Hashirama, feeling a strange tightness in his chest, a restlessness in his limbs, as the miko poured them cups of ritual sake. He dismissed the ridiculous notion that he could be nervous and focused his attention on the red lacquer of the cups. Three cups: heaven, earth, humanity – all the layers that would bind them together.
When he looked up again he met Hashirama’s dark brown eyes. The other man grinned widely at him, as he had been doing the entire journey to the heavenly temple. At once Madara felt a surge of tenderness overwhelm him, like being enveloped in a cape made of feathers. He found himself grinning back, crookedly.
In the background thought he could hear one of his little brothers remark how sickeningly sentimental the pair of them were.
“I think it’s cute.” Senju Itama looked up at his older brother Tobirama. “Don’t you, aniki?”
While earthly grudges meant less here, Tobirama had the good sense to keep his opinions to himself, at least when he was standing so close to Madara’s mother and elderly great-aunts, all of them ecstatically teary-eyed. Tajima was across the room, helping himself to the buffet while Hashirama’s father looked on disapprovingly, but Madara had eyes for none of this really.
As he took the first cup he was mortified to see that his hands were shaking, but fortunately Hashirama reached out to steady him. Slowly, carefully, Hashirama helped guide the cup up to his husband’s lips.

ALIVE Stage Ep 5 - Tsukino Hyakki Yakou Growth Photoshoot
Some behind the scenes photos for Growth were released for ALIVE Stage Episode 5! The theme is Tsukino Hyakki Hyakou, Tsukipro's version of the Night Parade of One Hundred Demons folktale. I'll make another post with the play's info once the official cast visuals are released. There’s lots of pictures, so read after the cut!
☆ Tsukino Hyakki Yakou ☆
At an ancient shrine, there exist black and white tenko [fox spirits] whose immense powers surpass even gods. During the day, the shrine is a place where people come to rest and relax. But during the night, strange beings congregate around the shrine. It seems as though they hold a sort of banquet night after night... [Mutsuki Hajime from Six Gravity, played by Agata Gouki, guest stars in the play as the Black Tenko]
☆ The Heavenly Photoshoot Has Started ☆
We're preparing to share other news with you all soon, so stay tuned! Please visit us at Tsukino Shrine in September.
☆②☆
Sakuraba Ryota (Suiyou/Water Fairy) played by Tachibana Ryou
By the way, the real snake used in this shoot is named Kyoromi-chan and will be playing the roles of Sakura and Niwa [the snakes that are with Ryota's character]. In human years, she is a young lady of about 20 years of age.
☆③☆
The normal costumes are traditional Japanese style to match the Hyakki Yakou setting. They're yukata and Japanese morning glory hairpieces. The new 2021 stage costume photos will be released at a later date. Look forward to it!
☆④☆
Fujimura Mamoru (Kageboushi/Shadow) played by Iwasa Yuuki
☆⑤☆
This time the costumers created yukata that reflect each of the characters' colors. It looks really good on Mamoru-san.
☆⑥☆
Eto Koki (Kyuubi no Kitsune/Nine-Tailed Fox) played by Shiozawa Hidemasa
☆⑦☆
Here is a hairstyle showing more of the forehead, which enhances Koki’s yukata look.
☆⑧☆
Yaegashi Kensuke (Inugami/Dog Spirit) played by Ishiwaka Sho
☆⑨☆
This is a unique orange yukata design. It goes along with Kensuke’s bold wardrobe.
That’s all for the Growth and Black Tenko sneak peak! Look forward to the next one!

Thuk thuk thuk thuk thuk thuk. Thuk thuk. Fwoosh!
Sasuke landed lightly on his feet, quickly scanning the wooden targets. Each of the eight had a shuriken lodged in the dead center, and the training dummy was burning like a torch. The Katon had been a last minute move, more about taking out aggression than training. Well, if he was honest with himself, it was all about releasing aggression... But now the dummy was chugging thick black smoke into the air. Someone would probably come to see about it, and company was the last thing he wanted.
You aren’t thinking clearly. Get it together. He reprimanded himself, but that hardly helped. He was in pain, he was furious, and the hardest part of it was knowing he was to blame for it all. Coward. Idiot. Stupid stubborn fool.
“Sasuke.”
He nearly jumped out of his skin, having been so absorbed by his thoughts that he didn’t hear the approaching footsteps. But that unmistakable voice made his heart leap and his hackles rise all at once.
He turned, fixing Naruto with a hard stare. His friend’s handsome, bronzed face bore not a mark. Either he’d been healed, or... I’ve noticed he manages to heal faster than any normal person would. The Kyuubi, maybe? Naruto’s expression was guarded, but not aggressive. So he hadn’t come to fight?
Sasuke’s hands curled into fists at his sides, then released, waiting for Naruto to explain his presence. Sweat beaded his forehead from the heat of the blaze, and the bruise on his jaw stood out darkly on his pale skin. Just looking at Naruto hurt. Why did he have to be so stupid? Why do I?
“I talked to Sakura-chan,” Naruto said at last.
“Did you call her a liar, too?” Sasuke spat before he could control himself.
Naruto’s bright gaze lowered to the ground. “Sorry about that. I was wrong.” He said quietly, stunning Sasuke more than if he had admitted to punching their female teammate. His expression softened, but he held his tongue, waiting to hear what else Uzamaki had to say.
“She explained about how your mom’s pressuring you to be with someone you don’t want. I get it. I just... wish I’d been in on the secret-‘ttebayo...” Slowly, he lifted his eyes to Sasuke’s face and met his gaze. “Sakura-chan also said... that you’re... in love with someone.”
Sasuke blinked, brows climbing, face heating. Sakura... “She told you,” he repeated, scarcely able to breathe.
“Well... she didn’t tell me who. She said I had to ask you that,” Naruto replied wryly. “So?”
Sasuke’s heartbeat thundered in his ears, drowning out every other sound. Without realizing it, his eyes shifted to sharingan. “So, what?” His voice was almost unrecognizable to his own ears.
Naruto took a few steps closer, his expression decidedly vulnerable. What’s up with that? I’m the one on the spot here!
“Who do you love, Sasuke?”
Sasuke briefly entertained the idea of another lie, but he’d learned well how painful those could be. Then again, if Naruto was completely disgusted by his answer— But wait, why would Sakura send Naruto to him with such a question in mind? And why was Naruto looking at him with such a fragile expression?
Suddenly, something occurred to him. Something so unexpected, so totally crazy, that it might just be true. And Sasuke laughed, and he felt relief like he hadn’t known in ages. “Idiot. It’s you.”
Naruto’s face flashed through a range of emotions that Sasuke would examine later when he was alone, thanks to his sharingan capturing every moment, but the final one was clearly elation. “Sasuke! You...?”
Sasuke nodded, slowly smiling. It felt good to finally release the secret, to let Naruto finally, finally hear the truth. “Yes, Naruto, its you.”
He wasn’t sure what to expect next, but being scooped up a bear hug and spun around in dizzying circles wasn’t in it at all. “Put me down, idiot,” he said, but there was no heat in it. Naruto was smiling like the sun, his eyes sparkling with emotion. Love. With love. And Sasuke wrapped his arms around the blond’s neck in turn and hugged him fiercely, and oh... That was heavenly.
When Naruto set him on his feet again, still grinning, he said, “Me too, Sasuke. For me, it’s you.”
“I know,” Sasuke replied with a smile. Had he ever smiled so much in his life? Maybe not, but he thought it could definitely get used to it.

(via What type of kitsune are you? | Kyuubi (九尾の狐))
“ Every kitsune is born with only one tail. According to the legend, the tail of a fox is used to store ling qi, the force of nature, or aura of heaven and earth, and sun and the moon. Once full, they will grow a new tail for storage. Until they have a total sum of nine tails, they will become immortals. Although they are not gods and only part of the earthly realm, not heavenly. Kitsune were believed to have special powers such as shape-shifting, creating copies of a living human, possession, flight, invisibility, and fox-fire. Fox-fire was essentially the energy a Kitsune had powers over, and the type of fox-fire depended on the type of kitsune. As a nine-tailed fox, the kyuubi is the strongest type of kitsune and that corresponds to the extend of their powers. About every 111 years, kitsune develop an additional tail. At 1000 years old, they have a total of nine and will not gain more. They can however take tributes from the kitsunes they have killed or beaten and bind them to their being. When a kitsune gains its 9th tail, its fur becomes gold or white. These kyuubi gain the ability to see and hear anything happening anywhere in the world. Other tales attribute to infinite wisdom (omniscience). As skilled shapeshifters and immortal beings, there are a lot of stories about them but the bottom line is: don’t mess with them! “
I don’t particularly like being op characters in rp (its boring, predictable and lacks challenge) - I also tend to hate people who pick them 😏

Thinking of Her
For @olliya. You're the best! Thanks for the prompt. I also used prompt: dark from FemslashFeb2020 list.
Pairing: FemSasuSaku
Rating: M for lemony content.
Available on FFnet
.
Thinking of Her
.
For two years, she'd been training under Orochimaru's tutelage. Locked underground and living in solitude, or constantly on the move, traveling in the shadows, but always away from the sun—she was literally hidden in the sound. However, she was improving her fighting capability in leaps and bounds and that was all that mattered. Soon, she'd be able to match Itachi in power.
Soon, she would have her revenge.
Sasuke didn't like to remember what her life had been like in the past, the things she'd abandoned. Any sacrifice she'd made was worth reaching her ultimate goal.
And then the past came back, knocking on her door. Two very annoying idiots with some inconsequential lackeys in tow infiltrated the Oto base. They forced the confrontation, making it impossible to avoid, so she acted. She had to end this pointless encounter swiftly.
Dealing with Naruto was easy. Getting anything into his thick skull was downright hopeless, so instead she used brute strength. Other arguments wouldn't have swayed him. At the very least, if she damaged him badly enough, it would take him some time to recover before he came after her again.
But Sasuke couldn't afford to focus only on Naruto. Sakura was also there, still dressed in bold red, still just as vivid as Sasuke remembered her. She tried not to react, not to look at her too much, but her eyes were drawn to Sakura like to a magnet. The kunoichi held back, clearly a support type. It was mentioned in the reports from Konoha that she apprenticed under Tsunade as a medic-nin. Sasuke had only read them to see if there were any news about Itachi. He could've made another move to get Kyuubi. Learning what became of her former teammates was only coincidental.
She hadn't seen any recent photos of them though, so she took this opportunity to observe their changes. Naruto was still just as orange and loud as before. Sakura kept her hair shoulder-length, but she changed her outfit style. Gone was the dress, now she donned a red zip up sleeveless shirt, showing off her toned arms. The combo of skin-tight shorts and a pink skirt over them looked quite becoming on her too as it clung to her rounded hips and backside. Sasuke's gaze flickered over Sakura's legs—they seemed to stretch on for miles in those high shinobi boots. All in all, Sasuke approved of her fashion sense and tucked in all these details into her mind, an easy task with the photographic memory granted by her Sharingan.
The encounter with Naruto and Sakura was cut short, but it lingered on Sasuke's mind long time after. Once she saw them, how much they improved and grew, it was hard not to think about them. Even when they weren't there, they still managed to annoy her. They distracted her from Itachi and that was unacceptable.
After that incident, she was reminded of them more often. She heard a boisterous laugh and immediately thought Naruto might be just around a corner; she caught a glimpse of pink hair in the corridors of the base, but when she ran, heart in throat, after that person, she found only Karin, whose red hair appeared pink in the dim, orange light of torches.
Sasuke had to stop this, shut down these thoughts. She submerged herself in more training, she reviewed that night in a genjutsu to keep her hatred fresh, hone it into a blade that would execute Itachi—anything to purge herself of weak sentimentality. She'd cut those bonds for a reason. They only stood in the way of her revenge.
But Sasuke was a sick girl by nature. She'd been cursed long before Orochimaru even came along, wanting things she shouldn't want, coveting what could never be hers. She knew these desires weren't normal, so she buried them, smothered under hatred and revenge.
However, alone in the dark of night, behind closed doors of an empty room in a distant Oto base, she allowed herself to indulge in her perversion. Sasuke closed her eyes and conjured the image of Sakura as she'd seen her the last time. Once again, she heard the soft utter of her name falling from Sakura's lush lips.
Sasuke thought of kissing those lips and traced her own mouth with a finger pad lightly. A shiver of excitement rippled over her body. She licked her lips and brushed down her chin and neck to the collarbones. She imagined Sakura was there with her, touching her so carefully. It was Sakura laying butterfly kisses down her body, Sakura who pulled down her breast band and palmed her modest chest curiously. Sasuke's nipples stiffened, exposed to the cool air in the room, and she sighed when Sakura's warm hands rolled and pinched them.
Soon, massaging her breasts wasn't enough for Sasuke as the pressure between her legs demanded attention. "Let me take care of you," Sakura said seductively and made a path over her stomach before easing one slim hand under the waistband. Sasuke made a soft sound when her lover brushed over the dark patch of hair and cupped her heated mound. She eagerly spread her legs wider, giving Sakura room to slip both hands in her underwear, while Sasuke worked down the zipper on her red shirt.
Sasuke unclasped the standard bra and bared Sakura's chest for her own viewing pleasure. The small, pert mounds bounced before her eyes and she touched and squeezed them with care. She took the pebbled pink nipples into her mouth and sucked them, making Sakura moan in her ear. It sounded like heavenly music.
Sasuke gasped in arousal when Sakura's one hand pulled her nether lips open to explore the dewy skin with the other one. The delicate touch quickly grew firmer when she brushed against Sasuke's sensitive nub. She steadily rubbed around it in circles, occasionally giving it a soft stroke that made Sasuke whimper. Wetness spilled out of her feminine opening and made her slick under the touch. The dull, empty ache inside had Sasuke buck up her hips, asking for more, and Sakura delivered.
Sasuke exhaled sharply when a finger slipped into her passage. She clenched tight around it before relaxing and accepting the intruding digit inside. It started to push in and out slowly but soon it fell into a rhythm as it rubbed over the sensitive inner walls. Sasuke rocked her hips in time with the moving finger, helping it slide deeper and reach her most pleasurable spots.
"Do you want me to make you come, Sasuke?" Sakura asked.
"Yes… ah… yesss…" Sasuke hissed her response.
Sakura kissed her again and plunged a second finger inside. Sasuke's body arched, the pressure in her core becoming unbelievable as Sakura skillfully rubbed her pulsing clit and pumped the sopping pussy. Finally, the taut coil sprang open and Sasuke let out a keening wail as she came hard all over Sakura's hand.
For a short moment she existed in a plane of perfect stillness where there was only pleasure, then she returned to the ground. Her chest was heaving with frantic pants of breath, erect nipples pointed straight up and sweaty moisture gathered in her cleavage. When the fog of orgasm lifted, Sasuke found herself alone in her room—cell—both hands buried between her legs and soaked with her own juices. The phantom Sakura was gone, her absence leaving behind a hollow ache like an old wound, and Sasuke was capable of feeling shame again. To use Sakura for something so vile, so depraved… This hellhole of a village was the only place where Sasuke deserved to be.
Slowly, she pulled her hands out of her soaked underwear, then giving into curiosity, she brought them to her lips to taste her wetness. It was salty and she thought that if this was what girls taste like, then Sakura was no different… The idea of checking it for herself, of touching, stroking, licking Sakura's pussy was just as deviant as the erotic fantasy before, but Sasuke couldn't help herself.
After she came again to the thoughts of tearing off Sakura's shorts and burying her tongue in her, Sasuke closed her eyes drowsily. After finally quenching that twisted desire that burned low in her gut, she was sure to have a good night's rest. She felt lazy and sated as she drifted off into a deep slumber.
Unbeknownst to Sasuke, back in Konoha, in the privacy of her own dark bedroom, Sakura was also thinking of her. Since they'd met again in the Oto base, Sasuke had been constantly on her mind. The rogue Uchiha had appeared to Sakura so grown up and hauntingly beautiful, as cold and pure as snow on the high mountain peaks and just as unapproachable. Sakura knew what had happened prior to her arrival from Sai's report from that mission and she couldn't help but wonder.
In her imagination, she was the one who found Sasuke first, laying in the dark room, red Sharingan eyes glowing with menace before she swiftly sat up and switched on a lamp on the nightstand. Her alabaster skin glowed softly in the intimate light.
"What are you doing here?" she asked with a warning in her tone.
But Sakura approached the bed undeterred.
"I'm here for you. I missed you so, so much. Please, come back with me to Konoha," she asked, putting all her heart into this simple request.
Sasuke smirked coldly at her.
"Why should I? Convince me," she demanded and oh, did Sakura convince her.
In her bed, Sakura touched herself to the fantasy of kissing Sasuke on those smug, soft lips until they were both dizzy and short of breath, of falling down together in a tangle of limbs, of worshipping her body, honed like a blade and just as dangerous, of bringing her pleasure so great that Sasuke had no other choice than to agree to return home.
Sakura came with a ragged groan into a pillow. She slumped on her stomach, the quakes in her body slowly subsiding as she relaxed in repose. If only changing Sasuke's mind was that easy, she'd have done it in a heartbeat.
A tear slid down Sakura's porcelain cheek, glittering like silver in the moonlight. The kunoichi fell asleep, unaware just how closely her and Sasuke's feelings were connected in that moment.

Dawol was specifically created by Inari to be sold as not just as a spy but as a weapon to the Japanese government but despite a successful showcase, she was never given as her sentience emerged just to criticize her mom and made a fool out of her, leading to the wolf gynoid's deactivation and getting locked up until her younger siblings found her and reactivated her. Being hostile at first at the other creations of Inari, she eventually calmed down as Inari's own creator, Kim, got to talk to her and telling her that her siblings did not want to harm her, but try to get her acquainted with the family and civilization since she's not gonna be working for a long while, as well as telling her that Inari need to take more responsibility for her children. While Dawol can be acting rough to her siblings at times, she does still like them and would defend her family's honour no matter what, even (reluctantly) her mother. And despite gloomy and seemingly uncaring most of the times, she does get serious when the job requires it.

Coming up, Castlevania Month
Next month is October and that means it's what I call Castlevania Month. (I'm sure I'm not the first one who came up with it) By that I mean my Twitch streams will be Castlevania themed with entries of the Castlevania franchise (and a spin-off). Artwise I might be able to do something related to the subject or general Halloween themed. I only know that I will try my best to work on the next chapter of Heavenly Kyuubi. And on this coming Monday, the 30th September is my stream anniversary and while I don't want to force people to come and watch, I would appreciate if as many as possible could come and see. Chatting is optional since I'm not against lurkers and anyone who has it play in the background while working on your own stuff. I did see that my first stream was 10 years ago, but I haven't seen an exact date for it, which is why I haven't celebrated some kind of anniversary for that one. As for other news... there are things coming up that interests me but at the same time I want to save money since there's a chance that I might need to pay for an expensive veterinary bill next time I visit them next year. I hope that you're all doing well and until next time, see ya!

Archived blog: It’s not Akari.
(Hair on the side goes down to just above her chin)
(Side hair never goes higher than her chin)
You're thinking she just cut her hair, fine. Except no. I can't explain why I just don't think it'd be ok in any author's mind to change a character's hairstyle enough to confuse the audience- that PV had "special edition" in the name if it was just an unexplained reupload of Fox's Wedding then you could make a point with it.
More importantly! From the old (presumably ancient) book Tonomari shows Ryou upon capturing Akari:
I came to the fox’s altar.
Everyone in the Kitsune clan is beautiful.
Deep eyes like a cat’s, beautiful gray hair, I want to have one as a bride.
I exchanged a drink with the demon.
[...]
I saw Shikyou’s gates.
It’s a place that is beyond description, unlike anything else in this world.
Through the fox’s wedding, I devote myself to the altar and stand before the gate for the first time. blah blah blah it doesn't end well.
What you need to understand from that is there's a gray-haired "kitsune" clan that inhabits Shikyou's realm (well, sort of her realm). Ain't nobody got time for that explanation rn but lets assume for argumant's sake this realm is the setting for Demon's March. If this is true, then Not Akari's white hair and kitsune mask make perfect sense. It's a member of this obscure mythical clan.
This idea hangs mostly on a theory about where Demon's March takes place that I'll cover later instead, BUT! It seems appropriate to cover a couple things visible in the pv itself right here and now.
Another part of the blog:
Ryou is pondering this when a book catches her eye. It’s called “The Spider and the Kitsune-Like Lion”, and it looks old. Ryou reads it:
One, ancient, a golden lion flew down from heaven.
Two, ancient, in the case of the evil spirit, the ark of Kyuubi appeared.
Three, ancient, the name of the evil spirit will only be shown if you continue to hell.
The Onigumo clan, abducted by the fox, has endured all sorts of agony for a long, long time.
This event happened ages ago. It must correspond with what the other old book describes:
The middle of April: It seems that everyone was eaten yesterday. The Oborodzuka man doesn’t always seem to have a human figure. Even though the girls are so beautiful. This time, Yorozuya’s master seems to have been eaten. Poor thing. I feel bad that they were eaten alive.
The second half of May: Finally, Shikyou’s procession has come to our village. Another half was taken in one day. The next one to go is surely me. If I go to that procession, I’ll surely take my own life. Toki, little Kaoru, I’m so, so sorry.
Late May: My wife and daughter were taken away. I couldn’t take my life. Help me. There’s only a few villagers left. Bunjiro from the liquor store was taken early this morning. He was crying until his head was lost. Truly this place is hell. No, it really is. This is hell. People can’t live in this heavenly prison. Everything about the Pure Land is a downright lie. It’s terrifying.
It was only me and my neighbor’s wife that remained. Her husband was taken late at night and she ran to my house out of fear. People are afraid to die alone. So I loved her until morning. I held my best friend’s wife. And I ate. I ate her from her head down.
Ever heard of that village Shikyou brought to cannibalize itself? It can be hard to see how a town eating itself constitutes an abduction but there's a few connections I've found about this and it seems to be a very important part of the story. The passage did mention people being taken so.... We'll think about that later though so for the sake of argument, lets assume these two books are referring to the same event. Considering the emboldened bit and the age of the books, this is a really old legend.
These yokai fall under the category of "Tsukumogami", When an inanimate object exists for a really long time, it becomes sentient. The wikipedia page says only 100 years but the claim is unsourced. Lets just agree that it must age for a very long time. These specific living objects are called "chochin-obake" (the paper lantern), and "kasa-obake" (the umbrella).
The Onigumo clan was abducted by the fox a long, long time ago. Long enough for these yokai to form.
And long enough for this mask to become cracked. Look I know irl you should be taking better care of your halloween masks, but it's to give that ancient aesthetic, yea?
Besides the whole ancient setting deal, there's an aspect of this Kitsune clan that's important to this dual theory (both that the setting of the pv is the same realm as the village that ate itself, and that the white-haired kitsune clan exists there). They are considered an evil clan associated with yokai.
“You have the rope?”
“Yeah.”
“Oi, wait just a minute.”
“What is it?”
“Look at that girl’s hair.”
“It’s white, what about it?”
“You damn fool, do you have white hair at such an age?”
“Ah… You’re right.”
“Oh, she must be part of that kitsune clan.”
“Really?!”
The man at the back hid the rope he had in his hands.
“That clan’s blood is rumored to be connected to that of youkai!”
“The same one that’s touched by gods?!”
“Oi, let’s get out of here!”
“Wait up!”
Go back and reread the passages from the old books if you have to. I'd think those are the stories they're associating with the Kitsune clan, even if the village one never called them by name. Because it's in the same bloody book. And from reading that one you'd realize what abduction The Spider and the Kitsune-Like Lion is talking about. I can see why they'd be terrified of a clan which has a mysterious central role in these legends. Especially the one with the settlement, but the other one also involves making a deal with a demon and his death is implied. The Spider and the Kitsune-Like Lion is really disturbing when it tells you the abducted village is now suffering eternally
So when you combine their connection to this "heavenly prison" with the presence of yokai in the pv (gashadokuro, kasa-obake, chochin-obake), you get a Kitsune girl in her natural habitat, the otherworldly realm riddled with yokai and eh "possibly" the influence of a certain goddess of death, considering that one orally-decapitating yokai back there. Which is heard chattering KAKAKAKAKA in beheading dance and the first act of the blog. It's a gashadokuro. It does those two things. Chomps people's heads off and chatters it's teeth.
“KAKAKAKAKKAKAKAKAKAKA! Come, Come, welcome to the brute’s nadir!”
“Come on, you useless pigs! It’s your turn! KAKAKAKAKAKAKAKA!”
Who are these guys? What the hell do they think they’re doing? Ugh, I guess I have no other option.
It will be nice to kill them..
What… what are they even doing? Is that… my body? Why are they taking only my body? Ha… Ha… Ha…
One strange thing I noticed is Akari belongs to the Oborodzuka clan, but has the traits of the Kitsune clan. Her "family" (who beat her and I think also did worse to her) consists entirely of horribly mutated people, some even being born as human-animal hybrids. But she is beautiful with white hair. There's some sort of vital connection between those two clans.
With that in mind, remember this line from the village story:
"The Oborodzuka man doesn’t always seem to have a human figure. Even though the girls are so beautiful"
(yea she's probably beautiful under that mask. no doubt.)
And yes this means I was wrong about those two yokai but the theory is still relevant; to the ghost. Futakuchi-onna just rings a bell about her.
Many relevant comments under this one.
bunny fou fou
plus like, it wouldn't make sense to include a canon-looking akari in a video with the green-haired mai and the blue haired amatsuku.
i'm excited to see who this character is though!
JMRMD
Yeah, I don't think Masa would make such an amateur mistake as forgetting to design Akari's hair the right size, and I think the skin of this kitsune being paler is a tip from Masa that it's not Akari..
John Graham Author
especially considering the attention to detail when he dropped hints in the first tweet that it was amaterasu standing there.
Decent_Artist_
Oo yeah yeah some of that could be plasuable!! And there's also this for why it isn't akari as it just says "kitsune" and masa would probably of written "fox girl" "akari" "miku 2" etc if it actually was her
KFOX
NOOOOOOOO But honestly that probably proves that it isn't Akari. Oh well, she still looks cool though.

GSvsAA - Dual Destinies - Character Profiles
In line with the AJ one, here’s the next in the line up. Check the master post more more of the GSvsAA translation project.
It’s worth noting that while Mr. Takumi is known to have some very obvious or random inspirations for his name puns, there are times when it’s tricky to figure out because of his choice of punny origins. Meanwhile, Mr. Yamazaki & co. tend to follow suit with the obvious, but their puns are often very straightforward and easy to deduce. Sometimes, a name has multiple layers of puns and chances are good that plenty of those puns make their way into the character’s design.
I don’t think it’s lazy design, since simplifying a character’s role in a plot means more care can be taken for the actual mystery, but sometimes it leaves something about the character to be desired. Then again, there are plenty of characters from the first four games in the series that aren’t so memorable.
I’m just obsessed with this series so I know them all. Ha.
Edit: SoJ profiles posted.
Spoilers below.
Main cast
Athena Cykes - Kidzuki Kokone (希月 心音) kidzuki means “awareness” (kinda following how Trucy is named Minuki) and the second kanji in her surname is “moon”. The kanji in her given name, when pronounced shin’on, means “heartbeat”. It can also be translated literally as “heart sound” to refer to her ability to hear people’s voices of their hearts.
Simon Blackquill - Yuugami Jin (夕神 迅) yugami means “distortion” or “twist”, referring to his epithet, “The Twisted Samurai”. The kanji form a phrase meaning “god of dusk”. jin, written as 刃, is “blade”; while the kanji in his name means “swift”. It’s analogous to Edgeworth’s name, Mitsurugi, which is the name of a noble blade of legend. Trivia: He refers to the chief in person using the term danna, a title reserved for Lords and noblemen back during the days of samurai. Since this couldn’t be replicated in English without sounding drastically out of place, it’s been tamed down to a plain “sir”. (Imo, he could very well have gone with “sire” and it’d be just the right amount of tradition and respect, but I guess it doesn’t quite sound Japanese enough.) Incidentally, Taka is Gin, which can mean “silver”, or possibly like the English word (but it’s pronounced with a hard G).
Bobby Fulbright - Ban Gouzou (番 轟三) The ban in his name may refer to a “guard”, though being written as 万 means “many”. Combined with his first name, which consists of “booming” and “three” (like in “two’s company, three’s a crowd”), you get a whole lot of bombastic in one guy. Trivia: His catchphrase is shouting “JUSTICE!!!” in English at the top of his lungs and laughing triumphantly. Imo, the localization's “In Justice We Trust!” has a certain nuance to it that really makes it pop when you realize just who he is, though.
Yep, that’s it. That’s the game. These three right here.
Episode 1
Gaspen Payne - Auchi Fumitake (亜内 文武) “Auchi” is simply “ouch”. His first name is the same as his brother’s but flipped. fumi (文) is “literature”; take (武) is “martial”. I suppose both of them are warriors of words, but I really think their parents the devs just ran out of ideas.
Juniper Woods - Morizumi Shinobu (森澄 しのぶ) mori (森) is “forest” or “woods”; shinobu means “to hide”. Meanwhile, the kanji for zumi (澄) used in the verb sumasu becomes “to look prim” or “to listen carefully”. These two definitions better relate to her from Episode 3, though. Trivia: In the Japanese version of this episode, the crime scene shows in English letters: “S I N O B U”. Since Japanese is typed using romaji, し can be either shi or si. Either way, it’s still pronounced the same. If it weren’t obvious enough from the intro, this spelling would have easily given away the real killer.
Ted Tonate - Barashima Shingo (馬等島 晋吾) barasu can mean a few things: “to expose”, “to take apart”, or “to kill”. He already covers the latter two in the first case, but the first definition doesn’t quite play in until the last one. The last syllable of his first name ties into his first name to make mashingo, or “machine language”; hence the keyboard.
Candice Arme - Kaku Hozumi (賀来 ほずみ) Her full name can be written as 確保済み, meaning “in custody”. kaku may refer to “square”/”cube”; probably referring to how she’s been hit. Her surname and the first syllable of her first name make kakuho, or “guarantee”, which seems to play into her English name.
Edit: Well, I totally screwed up this entry. My bad.
Episode 2
Jinxie Tenma - Tenma Yumemi (天馬 ゆめみ) Her surname as written here refers to the “heavenly horse” Pegasus. yumemiru means “to dream”. More on Tenma below.
Damian Tenma - Tenma Deemon (天馬 出右衛門) His first name comes from “demon”. Tenma, which is also the name of the village, is written as 天魔. It refers to the yokai of the Buddhist sixth heaven in the realm of desire who haunts people and deceives them into avoiding good. According to legend, Tenma tried (and ultimately failed) to lure the young Siddhartha away from enlightenment with earthly desires. Tenma Taro from this game is based on this Tenma. In Japanese folklore, he's described to have a bird-like appearance, hence we have jangly-cackling-bird-demon.
The Great Nine-Tails - Great Kyuubi (グレート 九尾) He’s based on the Nine-tailed fox of Japanese legend, a yokai of immense power and influence and sometimes disastrous consequences. You know the one.
Rex Kyubi - Kyuubi Ginji (九尾 銀次) His last name is the same as the Nine-Tails. The gin (銀) in his name refers to his silver hair and to the Nine-tailed fox of legend, which is often portrayed as silver. ginjiru also means “to chant” or “to recite”.
Phineas Filch - Zeniarai Kumabee (銭洗 熊兵衛) zeni, as written above, is “money”. (This is what Capcom’s fictional currency zenny is based on.) His last name is a reference to the azukiarai, “The Bean Washer”, a yokai who resembles a small boy that keeps people up at night with the sound of washing beans. Filch here claims that he’s the grandson of an infamous thief who once kept people up by the sounds of his money-washing. His first name is made of bears: kuma (熊) and “bear”; yet he’s frequently called a tanuki instead, especially for his swindling ways.
Edit: Got that the other way around.
Florent L’Belle - Biyouin Shuuichi (美葉院 秀一) biyouin is “beauty parlor” and shuuichinichi is “once a week”. The kanji in his first name come to “excellence” and “[number] one”.
Episode 3
Aristotle Means - Ichiro Shinji (一路 真二) The kanji in his name together mean “one road, two truths”. ichiro, with the same kanji, means “straight” or “directly”, and shinjiru means “to believe”.
Constance Courte - Michiba Masayo (道葉 正世) michibata is “roadside” and masa (正) is “right” or “just”, to parallel Means’ name above.
Hugh O’Conner - Shizuya Rei (静矢 零) His name is most likely picked for the convenience of the recording that’s played during trial. In Japanese, the muffled recording sounds like it’s saying “Koroshite yare!”, which is Japanese for “I’ll kill you!” Thanks to Athena’s efforts, she reveals it’s actually supposed to say “Kora! Shizuya Rei!”, or a scolding “Hey! Shizuya Rei!” The kanji of his last name are “quiet” and “arrow”. His first name can also mean “zero”.
Edit: This one I made a mistake due to mistaken memory. It’s actually kinda hard to make out the te sound in the recording, so I assumed it was excluded.
Robin Newman - Atsui Chishio (厚井 知潮) atsui is “hot”; it can also mean “hot-tempered” or “passionate”. chishio is “blood circulation”, usually referring to hot-headedness. It also doubles over as a gender-ambiguous name.
Myriam Scuttlebutt - Uwasa Atsume (宇和佐 集芽) uwasa is “rumor” and atsumeru is “to gather”; thus, her full name comes to “gather gossip”. Trivia: Producer Eshiro is a huge MGS fan; hence Myriam’s M.O. of traveling under the cover of a box.
Episode 4-5
Solomon Starbuck - Hoshinari Taiyou (星成 太陽) His name comes from the phrase “hoshi ni naritai yo”, which means “I wish to become a star”. taiyou, as written above, means “sun”.
Clay Terran - Aoi Daichi (葵 大地) aoi is the color “blue”. daichi is “ground” or “earth”; also refers to the planet itself. His relative calm and the color blue was chosen specifically to pair with Apollo’s bright and passionate red. (In fact, it may very well have been the localization’s choice to name Odoroki as Apollo that led to the development of this game’s space theme. I don’t remember if it was mentioned in an interview or not, but I’m sure it played some role.)
Yuri Cosmos - Oogawara Uchuu (大河原 有忠) His last name means “bank of the great river”, which is a reference to the Milky Way. It’s known as “The Great River” in several cultures, including Japanese. uchuu, written as 宇宙, means “space” or “universe”.
Aura Blackquill - Yuugami Kaguya (夕神 かぐや) Kaguya is a reference to a famous Japanese folktale from the 10th century, Tale of the Bamboo Cutter. The main character’s name is Kaguya-hime, or Princess Kaguya, who was one of a mysterious people living on the Moon but was sent down to Earth and raised by an old bamboo cutter. I’m not too sure if this tale inspired her English name, but when Princess Kaguya was discovered as a baby, she was described to be the size of a thumb and glowing with brilliant light. The Moon people were weird. (I can also draw the parallel to Simon’s Taka, since Aura may come from the Latin root aurum for “gold”.)
Ponco & Clonco - Ponko & Ponta (ポンコ&ポンタ) ko and ta are common endings to boys’ and girls’ names, respectively. Aura also likes to call Clonco “Ponkotsu”, referring both to how he’s basically “Ponco #2″ and ponkotsu, “junk”.
Metis Cykes - Kidzuki Mari (希月 真理) Her first name can also be pronounced shinri, meaning “truth”. In turn, shinri, when written as 心理, means “psychology”.
DLC Episode
Sasha Buckler - Umino Shouko (羽美野 翔子) umi is “sea”, and shouko, written as 証拠, is “evidence”. Thus, her full name becomes “evidence from the sea”. The first kanji in both first and last name have to do with “feathers” and “flight”. She’s quite a flighty personality for sure.
Ora "Orla" Shipley - Arafune Elle / Ale (荒船エル / エール) Her last name is made of the kanji for “wild” and “ship”. Her name is Ale, as a shortened form of “whale”, but it doubles as the alcoholic drink too. Actually, it triples as “air”, to complement her trainer. Her supposed real name is actually her sister’s name, and it seems it was just picked to sound similar.
Jack Shipley - Arafune Ryouji (荒船 良治) ryouji as 療治 means “treatment”/“cure”, possibly referring to how he saved two precious orcas and returned them to health.
Norma DePlume - Uratori Reika (浦鳥 麗華) uratori refers to “gathering evidence” as for a news story. reika as 冷夏 becomes “cool summer”. It can even be written as 零下 to mean "sub-zero". She’s quite the contrast to the rest of the sunny crew.
Edit: Note to self: simplify.
Marlon Rimes - Itsuka Ikuya (伊塚 育也) itsuka means “someday”; the kanji iku (育) means “raise”, as in pets or children. In other words, he’ll “become a real trainer someday”. His name may have been chosen for its easy rhyme as well.
Rifle (ライフル) She was named for her dangerous temper, and probably as a shout-out to Mr. Takumi’s naming of Missile. Her daughter Sniper also keeps the same name.
Herman Crab - Sugomori Gaku (巣古森 学) His last name may be referring to su-komori, or “nest-babysitter”, since he keeps li’l Sniper up there. Even the first kanji in his last name is the right one for “nest”. gaku as above is “learning” or “study of” a subject.
Azura Summers - Natsukaze Suzumi (夏風 邪涼海) natsukaze means “a summer cold”, but it can also literally mean “summer wind”. It was picked probably as a stark contrast to Norma’s Japanese name. suzumi is “cooling off”, like outdoors in the breeze.
