heart path!
make the basic shape first
then tap again to round off the corners
made this while fussing with the diagonal bridge limitations. just like acnl, you can't place a pattern under the center of the bridge edges. nearest you can get is an M shape.
might as well make hearts!
(or peaches. or butts.)

Animal Crossing New Leaf Review
Tumblr media
I love this game! When it came out I played it all the time and I still play it once in a while, years later. It’s relatively simple to play; you create a character, pick a town layout and name and just decorate to your heart's content. And the possibilities are endless with what you can do. There are so many items and an option to create your own patterns to decorate too.
I used to play this game for hours just decorating my house and town to how I wanted it. I also had help with some friends I made that were playing at the time. It was how I got some of my items too. I almost completed my catalog too! Later, I bought a digital copy of the game so I could build a new town without destroying my old one with all the stuff I had. With my new one, I could restart it when I got bored and I have, like 4 times. I’m actually currently doing a Harry Potter theme in it.
But that’s the beauty of this game. You can do whatever you want and your imagination can create anything especially with all the different items. The possibilities are endless!
ACNL is hours of fun and decorating your little town provides endless entertainment.

The very moment you step into your new town there’s this guy that's all up in your face like, “Hi! I’m Wonho your secretary! Welcome mayor! I’m so excited to see what you do to the town it’s going to be so much fun!”
You didn’t know you were supposed to be the mayor until like right now but you just kinda “:D Okay!” because this guy looks so happy and excited
Ohmigosh
Within like, 30 minutes of meeting each other you two become besties.
You both decide that there needs to be WAY more color in town because it’s literally just a bunch of trees and rocks
You’re like, “How about pink and mint for our color scheme?”
And Wonho’s like, “OMG YAS I LOVE IT!!!”
You guys, you guys
Within three weeks you guys have these cute paths all laid out
lined by trees and perfect sparkling flowers because by the time everyone else is up they’ve already been watered
And you have all the hybrids that are nearly IMPOSSIBLE to get
You protect the flowers WITH YOUR LIVES
YOU ARE SO STRICT ABOUT NOT TRAMPLING THE FLOWERS
A villager named Minhyuk trampled some pink carnations about a week ago and no one has heard from him since...
You have ALL the different kinds of bushes and fruits
AND ALL YOUR FRUIT IS PERFECT
And there’s this small part of your beach with a hammock strung up on a coconut and banana tree that you have to swim to in order to get to it
Don’t even get me started on the public works projects
You put in a fudging lighthouse overlooking a cliff by the sea
You best believe you and Wonho put in a flower clock
You put in a windmill by the Re-Tail shop
And there’s a wishing well by Town Hall
You have an apple orchard surrounding the new coffee shop you put in overlooking the beach
You have a random ass cherry orchard that somehow makes perfect sense where the are two tree stumps next to each other that when you and Wonho cut made heart patterns in the middle so you didn’t dig them up
Peaches everywhere as it’s the town fruit
You guys put up trellis’ by the town tree just to make it seem a bit more magical
Honestly you guys…
TAKE IT DOWN A NOTCH
ONE OF YOUR VILLAGERS WAS AWAY WHILE YOU GUYS WERE DOING ALL OF THIS AND WHEN THEY CAME BACK DIDN’T RECOGNISE THE TOWN OH MY
But really though you two are the dream team
Everyone in town seems so much happier
Anyway, once you’re satisfied with how utterly ADORABLE your town is with all the pink and mint and flowers and just everything, you decide to work on your dream suite
You want to make it a horror suite
And Wonho’s like, “Um, did I miss something?”
You find out Wonho’s a huge scaredy cat and refuses to go in so for the first time, you’re doing something on your own
So Wonho has everything set up in town hall for you
Like, he has pillows laid out for you as well as several blankets and is like, “I’ll turn off the lights.”
You’re out in like, five minutes
And while you’re in the dream suit, Wonho is right by you just to make sure nothing goes wrong while you sleep
He actually shuts down town hall for the day just to make sure you aren’t interrupted which has NEVER EVER HAPPENED BEFORE
So you’re in the suit and you’re getting SO MUCH DONE! And you decide to put two tree stumps right next to each other, “Wonho would love this!”
What Wonho hears in town hall is, “Wonho.”
And BOY DOES HE PANIC
WHAT IF SOMETHING WENT WRONG AND YOU WERE TRYING TO CALL OUT TO HIM?!?!?!?!
But then you giggle and he’s like, “whew, okay. False alarm.”
And he ends up smiling like a dork because you think about him in your dreams.
Turns out you were in the dream suit for a whole six hours, so when you woke up Wonho was like SPOONING YOU
And he’s like, “HeY yOu’Re BaCk!!!”
You insist that he come see the dream suite you created and he’s like, “AW HELL NAW”
And you’re like, “I’ll hold your hand.”
“okay”
Wonho passes out within the first four seconds of being in the suite someone help this child
After the dream suite disaster is over, the two of you go to rest at your favorite spot
THE TWO HEART TREE STUMPS!!!!11!!!!!!!1!!!!
You’re holding hands laughing at the villagers playing around when Wonho gives you a look of absolute adoration, “You know, this town got so lit once you got here…”
And you’re like, “I would have been screwed if it weren’t for you!”
And he’s like, “No, really. You lit up my world.” And gives you a nose kiss

Day 124 (Wednesday July 15)
I felt anxious a lot of the day, feeling like I was supposed to be doing something. I opened the drawer where I keep all my ds/3ds games and saw my Animal Crossing New Leaf cartridge. I had considered revisiting my town before, but was afraid of the consequences of being gone for 3 or 4 years. I pushed through and booted it up. A couple of villages had moved out, there were 3 I didn’t remember so I guess they were new, and it was Caroline’s birthday. I saw Tangy walking around and she’s my new favorite, I’m sorry Bree and Goose and Grizzly and Truffles (and Clay and Hazel but they don’t live there anymore). I sat on the ledge of the big plaza tree, and Tangy had moved in just a week or so before I picked up the game after years of inactivity. I spent about 3 hours just walking around and talking to people and checking out everything I hadn’t seen in forever. And despite having quite a few hours logged in that town, I made 3 new museum donations. It might be because after unlocking the island, I would only fish and hunt for bugs there instead of my town. Some time near sunset, I could hear the real life cicadas outside my window alongside the ones in-game, so I sat out on m front porch for a while and played until mosquitoes started attacking me. I called it a night around midnight in game and did my little in-game bedtime routine I missed so much. Every night when I quit playing, I would play a little music box of KK Moody, turn off the main light, turn on the nightlight at the end of my bed, “feed” my bird, and lie in bed until the music stopped and the shell clicked shut. Then I would save and quit, and when the “saving, do not press (the power button symbol)” screen came up I would tap the screen and the button. It was really nice to visit my old town again, and it was really cute when one villager (I think Truffles) said she missed me, and even if I was only coming back for one day, she was so happy to see me again. ;u; I tried to go to bed, but I accidentally stayed up all night and took a shower and washed my hair at like 8 am. I tried to play animal crossing, but then I got too sleepy, so I put on a YouTube video to go to sleep and didn’t wake up until almost 4 pm
Day 125 (Thursday July 16)
When I woke up again, I played animal crossing for a bit, checking on the hybrid flower breeding setup I expanded yesterday. I’m going to try and make blue roses and complete my encyclopedia/museum. I didn’t do as much as I did yesterday, but I did celebrate Frita’s birthday. I hung around the house until I got board/stir crazy at about 8pm and walked to dollar tree in hopes of finding art supplies. What I REALLY wanted was some toy or pillow I could salvage the faux fur off of to make some handpaws and try some tutorials I saw online, but instead I headed come with some assorted colorful sewing thread, two baby blankets, and a scented candle. For a moment I considered removing a segment from my huge 6ft stuffed Caterpillar I use as a pillow to use as fur, but instead looked up some free plush patterns online. I started making a couple koi fish that would make a heart pattern when lined up, but my fabric was wrinkly and I didn’t want the wrinkles showing up in the finished product. I asked my dad if I could use her iron, since I had never used it before. It’s actually really fun lol. So I ironed out all my fabric and worked for maybe 5-6 hours to finish 1 fish and have all the fins/eyes prepared for the second one. It’s funny, because when I finally finished, I thought about maybe doing a little scorpion hunting in ACNL, but only if it was before 1am. I look at the clocks and it’s almost four lmao.
Here’s the first one, peep my cluttered-ass room in the background.

Animal Crossing Pocket Camp Tips: In-Game Currency
I really love animal crossing, it’s easily one of my favorite games. I had been waiting FOR SO LONG for Pocket Camp to come out, and honestly the day it was released, I cried tears of joy. I love my little animal friends. SO I decided since I’ve never had the chance to do this before (or the willpower), I decided to make my own little game guide for all of you lovely camp-goers~
First of all I’d like to say that a lot of these tips are obviously OPTIONAL. Don’t feel pressured into doing these things if you don’t want to. This is just here to help you make the most out of your gameplay!
DISCLAIMER: this is not a full-fledged guide as an absolutely amazing one has already been written here: https://sirtaptap.com/2017/10/animal-crossing-pocket-camp-guide/ . However, I feel that some quick and easy tip-sharing to make things a bit more ~personal~ is always great to have because, everyone plays games differently. There’s no one way to play a game, especially one like animal crossing. Please keep in mind that not everything in the guide is set in stone as mistakes can be made. As time goes on we’ll have more details about how everything works~
App version: 1.0.0 Date: November 24th, 2017
Making Money
Okay so there are tons of ways to make those sweet sweet bells. Obviously just talking to animal campers is a great way. But there are tons of other things you can do!
1.       Tap on campers at your campsite to see if they are available to talk. It won’t tell you above their heads in the map screen if their conversation option has refreshed yet, so you just have to look. This refreshes about every hour. Doing this will help them level up, and sometimes they will give you bells or an item! If their level is maxed out, talk to them anyways just in case they wanna give you something. Approximately every hour, 3 random campers at your site will have new requests, so fulfill those as well just in case they give you some bells/items for it.
2.       Catch ALL BUGS AND FISH YOU SEE. PICK UP ALL FRUIT AND SEASHELLS. You can sell them in the market, but if you wanna “grind for bells” quickly, you can easily just choose “sell” instead of “list for sale.” Regular items go for 10 bells a piece, rare items for 100, and then VERY rare go for 1500, (such as the rainbow trout), ULTRA rare go for 5000, (such as the tuna). I WOULD NOT recommend selling these very rare ones unless you just got lucky and somehow have like 5 tuna fish. Save them for later because with further game patches and updates, they’re likely to be useful. And Idk about you but I feel that putting it in your market box for 30k wont do any good considering -most people- do not have that many bells right now and it will be stuck in your market box for a very long time. I’ve seen way too many people doing this and it’s insane.
3.       The spawning in this game seems to work a bit like acnl, except that they don’t always randomly spawn. Sometimes you have to leave the area and then come back for new fish and bugs to spawn. Seashells take longer to respawn, though I’m not entirely sure how long it takes. But by leaving the area and coming back, you can easily catch lots of bugs and fish to sell if you’re REALLY short on bells (I’m trying so hard to get enough to buy this 5000 bell acid-washed jacket as I’m typing this).
4.       You get 100-200 bells for talking to/assisting campers, and 1000 bells each time you level up.
5.       You can shake trees in ACNL, and you can shake trees in ACPC as well! ALL OF THE TREES. EVEN THE PALM TREES. SHAKE EVERY SINGLE ONE. You can get up to 1000 bells this way. That’s like the equivalent of talking to 10 campers. It’s so easy. Shake the trees. I beg of you.
6.       You can enter shovelstrike quarry once per day, and you have a good chance and making some moolah here, so, make sure you ask those pals of yours to help ya out. You only need 5 so it shouldn’t be too difficult.
BELL SAVING
1.       Some people will say “just build everything.” But that is a no-no if you want to save time and money (and resources o lord). Personally, my main focus is campers. I want certain campers in my campsite, so I prioritized building the furniture that their heart so desires. If your focus is decorating and you don’t care for any of the campers that are available, then knock yourself out crafting those couches. But for me, once I get all of the campers I want, then I will make the furniture I want.
2.       Your items aren’t cataloged like they are in ACNL. So there is really no reason to buy every single thing at the little nookling’s shop. Buy what you WANT, but do your best not to make impulse purchases. I know it’s tempting but once the shop rotates and that rare item comes into view, you’ll be heartbroken at how poor you are and that you can’t afford that fancy jacket you wanted. Of course, if you are one of those upperclass folks who can throw dollar dollar bills at this game, then this certainly does not apply to you. Go nuts.
3.       Try to pay attention to market box prices. You can easily make 100 bells back by talking to a camper, but paying an excessive amount for a few beetles is no good. I tend to buy stuff from market boxes because I’m lazy and I don’t mind helping out my friends. However, you just have to be smart about it because you can easily spend all of your money this way.
 CAMPER CUSTOMIZATION
1.       There are currently 2 models of the camper. Vintage and modern. So you don’t HAVE to change your camper model if you don’t want to. Just pick the one you want. The models are 5000 bells and you get a free paint job if you switch models. Fancy patterns cost leaf tickets so make sure you save those up if you want one. Also, you can switch back to patterns you paid for with leaf tickets, as they are always available for free once you buy them.
2.       Loans: expanding the interior is something that you can pay off in a loan in this game, just like your house in ACNL.
1st expansion: more space in the main floor, 10,000 bells
2nd expansion: second floor, 30,000 bells
3rd expansion: more space in the second floor, 50,000 bells
4th expansion: more space in the main floor, 100,000 bells
5th expansion: more first floor space (maximum? Not sure yet), 150,000 bells
6th expansion: more second floor space (max?), 200,000 bells
NOTE: currently there is a bug with paying off a loan, where it will take out your money you put in and then later say you didn’t actually pay anything, but you will have less bells. It’s best to pay it all off at once and then immediately go to OK MOTORS and upgrade again! I’m sure they will fix this since this is only version 1.0.0.
LEAF TICKETS
Last but not least, the dreaded in-game currency. First of all I’d like to say that you should not complain about this because this is how game devs make money. I believe that all artists deserve payment for their work and, asking that they do this for free is just a no-no, even if it is a “big company.” These people have to pay their bills, man. Besides, a game like this isn’t the same as an actual fully featured video game. It’s great that people have the option to pay for something IF THEY WANT TO. And let me tell you, a copy of animal crossing new leaf is currently 20 USD, and most hardcore animal crossing fans actually purchase multiple copies of the game just so that they can have another custom town and more of the villagers that they want, since you are limited to 10 in that game.
OKAY ENOUGH BABBLING ON, time for the tips
1. Save your leaf tickets. What should you spend them on? 3 things:
Limited special items. I bought Tom Nook and K.K. even tho only one of them will be out at a time, because I love them both so much.
Expanding your crafting capacity. This is so super helpful and actually useful to you, as most things in the game you can pay for with leaf tickets are actually easily attainable. The ONLY way to expand crafting capacity is with leaf tickets, so spend them on this.
Camper paint customization. Make sure you only do this if you really truly want that fancy camper paintjob.
2. If you have a dollar to spare I’d recommend spending it on the 72 hour special offer because you can get double the amount of leaf tickets (40) for the price of 20. Offers like this in mobile games tend to only come around rarely, such as for specific holidays, game anniversaries, etc. And, personally, I like to support things that I love, which brings me to my next point.
3. This may not be a decision that you can make so early in the game’s release, however, if you like this game and you want to see it improve, SUPPORT IT. Buy yourself some leaf tickets. It is sooo important to support games that you love, as that is how they can afford to spend time making new updates and adding new content. A lot of people absolutely DESPISE this sort of thing but, good games come with paying for em. People were totally outraged that you have to pay to play Mario on mobile devices. They are giving us this game for FREE with lots of great content. It’s certainly not a pay-to-play game, which I am so thankful for. And if all else fails and you’d rather not spend money on Pocket Camp, go out and buy yourself a different animal crossing game to show your support for it. And I don’t want to see anyone whining that game devs have to make a living with their work. Creative careers are so incredibly under-appreciated because people think they should have access to LEISURE for free. HEALTH CARE should be free, not leisurely activities that are OPTIONAL. This backwards thinking is incredibly toxic behavior.
If you’re like me, a poor millennial child just trying to get through college, then you shouldn’t mindlessly throw your money away buying fishing nets and honey pots. I’d recommend you save your leaf tickets for more special items that ACPC will have in the future.
Thanks for reading and I hope you found this helpful. This is just something I whipped up to avoid writing my research paper. Please leave more tips and any corrections if you have any!

ACNL Witchcraft
I've gotten back into playing acnl recently and been noticing so much witchy stuff you can do!! A lot of it is up to your own interpretation & you have to make your own correspondences but I wanted to post about it so here ya go
-divination based on which gem you get from the gem rock each day -could also do this with fossils or gyroids but gems already have correspondence resources so they're easier -seashell divination!! -Katrina is literally a fortune teller built into the game, USE HER -you could especially use the lucky clothing piece of the day in a luck spell if you have a similar thing irl!! -using villagers as tarot of some sort, coming up with correspondences for each and depending on if they're moving out, in, or staying, use that for divination(ie if a lazy villager is moving out it could mean nows your chance to get shit done) -for the correspondences you could base it on their looks(color, clothing style), language(catchphrase, quote), species, personality(lazy, cranky, etc) & more, it should be easy to discover your own correspondences! (: -you could also time travel to do this faster/get readings as many times as you want per day -altars for deities in rooms!! You could even have specific characters for specific deities -eating fruit/anything else edible like cake in honor of deities or as an offering of sorts -ik I have a lot of divination on this post as is but divining with flowers!! based on the colors of them and/or what kind of flower it is!! you can even do this based on placement of the flowers(ie if it's near a river it can be linked to water correspondences, or specifically river correspondences) -I SWEAR THIS IS THE LAST DIVINATION ONE divining with letters received from villagers,, gifts are bonus points -like sending them a letter with a question(gift included or not) and using the letter they send back as an answer to the question, the paper they used can also be relevant(lotus, firework, etc), and any gifts they give you -doing spells IN GAME!! like you can set up everything!! you have access to crystals, flowers, seashells(sea witchcraft anyone?), fruits(kitchen witchcraft!!), it's a cool way to do low budget witchcraft!! -you can also use fish and bugs in spells!! and literally anything really there's a ton of furniture and clothes and oh boy think of the possibilities?? amazing -candles are in the game too but you don't have a wide selection -if you don't have all the materials for a spell irl finish it in game!! -using lucky items as a boost in spells!! -the emotion things you can get(idr what they're called or w/e) for intent in spellwork -you could do things like curses by burying an object representing a person then burying pitfalls all around them -or a blessing but with crystals itself of pitfalls or something -you get the idea -SIGILS USING RELEVANT ITEMS. money sigil? place money bags(or anything else in the game you can get corresponding to money) in the shape of the sigil. love sigil? there's so many rose options and each color can mean different things, go for it -sigil fireworks -need to bury something in a spell but for example it's not biodegradable, or you can't bury something for some reason? just do it in game!! you could put it behind a house or something if you don't wanna ruin the aesthetic of your town -disposing of spellwork items by selling them to Reese -or by mailing them away -public works projects have so much potential i don't know where to start, I might come up with some specific ideas later but for now just think about it yourself, it ain't hard to figure out(fire pits, fountains, wind turbines, flower arches, there's stuff for all the elements and more) -yknow that thing where you can "report" villagers for being problematic? use that in curses, problematic language for a silence curse for example -transformation spell? go to shampoodles and get a makeover -turnips for anything money related as they are a popular source of money in the game -using npcs themselves in spells. need something to represent crafting? Cyrus. fashion? any of the able sisters or Gracie. anything youth or children related? Timmy & Tommy. so much more but I'll stop here. -you can customize so much furniture to have your own patterns, use this!! sigils, color correspondences, there's so many possibilities!! -sleep/dream spell? Dream suite. You could even perform spells while in the dream town and have it be kind of like the astral! -K.K. songs for any music magic, the names themselves can lead to correspondences -with the added option of the amiibo it makes it possible to make acnl magic more physical and present in this world. you could use the amiibo like a wand of sorts! -island tours as a base for spells -doing different initiatives in honor of deities(plant a tree for Demeter for example) -emoji spells but instead using the extra symbols you have access to in game(heart, star, etc) -multiple ways to implement this, for example have it be a villagers greeting/catchphrase and every time they say it in activates, you could send a letter to future you with it, put it on the bulletin board, etc -making a sigil pattern then displaying it at able sisters and for every villagers that starts wearing it, more power for the sigil
I never intended for this post to get so long but you can obviously see how much potential there is! This list was compiled over a couple of days, imagine how much more I could come up with if I spent longer on this!! If anyone wants me to make a correspondence list for anything acnl(especially villagers/npcs) lmk and I'll try to do it. (: If you want me to go in depth about any of the ideas above just ask and I can make a separate post about it. If you do anything based on these ideas please lmk!! I'd love to see what you did!! :D I might post about some of the things I do. ^-^  Some of these ideas could work in other versions of animal crossing but this is intended for acnl. do what works for you
