20230314: today’s Lego set isn’t a classic rebuild but is instead a set I purchased used and pre-built with the sole intention of scrubbing it for parts, 41682 Heartlake City School from 2021 with 605 pieces. I have now picked up several of these sets in a variety of states of completion because this is the only set Lego made with the glow-in-the-dark shield. as a mostly castle builder, shields are of particular interest to me, especially a glow-in-the-dark shield I can use for my skeleton army. this set by itself, though, is an interesting build with lots of great details, including a science lab, bathroom, art studio, music/drama/theater room, a main hallway with lockers, and a very small kitchen. outside the school is a basketball hoop and a study table, as well as a selection of good greenery. since I purchased this used and pre-built, I chose not to take any of the mini-dolls with my purchase, as that’s not why I was buying the set.  I look forward to seeing what else this set will be in the future :)

I have a really fun idea for a slightly-silly Bionicle crossover fanfic but I can't write and I don't know much about the other half of the crossover, but basically Brutaka uses the Olmak to travel to Heartlake, the city from Lego Friends, and gets into all kinds of shenanigans.

Jessie was doing her own Lego set and Duckie got curious so Jessie bought her this one so they could each have Lego to do

Duckie's done within a few hours while Jessie's takes days because it's one of the fancy big ones

Duckie makes her take a break to play vet with her

Squish - Kingfisher Bird

Emma buys it for Squish when Squish gets super into learning about birds

She went from plants to wolves to birds and Emma supplemented each phase with educational toys

Frida got a Lego building session videocall every day until it was done

Lego, I'm begging you plase contunie to LEGO Friends Mia,Olivia,Andrea,Stephanie and Emma's adventures. Start with past and connect them to the future. Plase we don't need 20 minute episodes i am happy with 5 minute webisodes. I just want to feel Heartlake like past. I want GOAM's episode who have potential and excited. Please LEGO.

If you want diversity then change it names to LF Heartlake Adventures or LF Friendship Missions

How do you think Lego Elves & Friends are connected? My personal headcanon that I use in my fanfics is that Emily lives in a suburb of or a town near Heartlake City and goes to school with the Friends characters

Emily living adjacent to Heartlake City seems to be what the majority of people use in their headcanons, and I'm tempted to agree with that. Depending on which generation of Friends you swear by, Elves could take place at any point given how vague the Earth side of things is. The 2012-2018 incarnation of Friends lines up with the timeline of Elves' run, but 2018-2020 or 2023-present could just as easily slide in.

Personally, I'd like to have Elves take place during the 2023 Friends. The thought of Emily being a grown adult while her elven friends say ambiguously young-adult aged is too much for me. But as for headcanons:

Emily lives on the outskirts of Heartlake city. Not as far out as Autumn is, but far enough where there's enough forest to hide the portal when she uses it.

She doesn't know any of the Friends group personally, on account of going to a different school than them. But she sees them around the city whenever she bothers to go there.

Post-S4 there are mini portals/rifts that are opening all around HLC. Emily, with her freshly developed magic, goes around closing them

One of these rifts opens in the international school?

Cue Emily attempting to sneak onto another school's campus and gets caught lurking around by one of the Friends cast (idk anything about the new cast help)

Maybe people end up going missing through these rifts into Elvendale and Emily takes it upon herself to bring them back?

Her portal isn't limited to Sky Castle anymore(?), so she can just pop in wherever someone's at and bring them back through

A couple of the Friends are brought through (Nova, Autumn and Zac probably)

Instead of staying put where they are, they go off and explore Elvendale, so Emily has to chase them down before they get hurt.

She, of course, catches up to them and convinces them to go back home

By this point she must have sourced a memory altering potion from Naida/Rosalyn to avoid mass awareness of Elvendale?

The potion isn't as effective on some people, so of course one of the Friends recognizes Emily when she's out and about

Something something y'all go have fun with this

Could Emily feasibly become friends with the Friends friends? Probably, if she really wanted to. I'd imagine Emily is more interested in her Elvendale friends and has kinda pulled away from Earth mentally. Maybe this could be an opportunity to get Emily more balanced in her homes instead of creating rifts by yearning for another world.

Andrea’s name has been pronounced differently since 2022

When watching lego friends, there has been 3 different ways Andrea’s name has been pronounced, it has been consistent from 2012-2021, but then it changed in 2022 and then changed again in 2023, when last week’s episode and today’s episode here is how they’re pronounced in each show:

Classic-girls on a mission: on-Dre-uh

Holiday special-Heartlake stories: an-Dre-uh

Next chapter: Ann-dree-yuh

It’s strange how it changed, maybe it’s because the casting was switched from American voice actors to Canadian voice actors (since some ninjago voice actors do voice on both show) like how the style was changed from humans to minidolls, and maybe Andrea is pronounced differently depending on the region, but if the cast is now Canadian, why does heartlake stories have a different pronunciation to next chapter?
