see dude i. i know ashe is coming back. it’s genuinely impossible for her not to because of all the buildup, the fact yakko did an ashe cosplay, etc.

but part of my brain is almost sad about it. i think it’s more abt the season ending and the fact that i’ll have to wait for season 3 but also. season 2 was a story about grief. it was about separation and it was about having to come together in the worst of times to save what matters most. the mystery surrounding ashe and the trickster and mark and david and bell tech and vyncent’s world and dakota’s past and william’s future,, all of it has been insane to experience over the course of two ish months. and idk i’m just. not ready, i guess, for this to end </3 like. with ashe back the group is gonna be whole again and they’re gonna get the peace they so greatly deserve but it’s gonna be left behind. they’re not gonna be flying a car chasing after an otherworldly lich anymore. there’s not gonna be vyncent jumping off s building for william, there’s not gonna be cantrip betting against him kissing vyncent. there’s not even gonna be a cantrip.

Naughty little Vikings commentary clip because I was in a mood. 👑 Don't get me wrong, I outright ADORE what Ivan has done with King Aelle and wouldn't want to miss his heartbreaking performance that overrode the huge storytelling flaws. He somehow managed to make this sudden and complete break of character with no lead-up or explanation whatsoever still look genuine and deeply touching.

I just dislike that they withheld any scenes from us in between that would've shown how this was even possible as it insults the intelligence of the audience and also deprived us of the profound experience of fully grasping and relating to the tragic dimension of King Aelle's character.

And I strongly dislike that such a shattering and gruesome end to a life of thorough integrity despite all adversities and a deeply moving struggle with spiritual uncertainty was presented in a way that invited gloating mockery, hence undermined any respect for King Aelle's heroic sacrifice, his virtues and good intentions and even for his suffering and agony.

King Aelle deserved better, we as the audience deserved better, and Ivan deserved better for all the love and care and thought and work he had put into his character - and for all the opportunities he had to let pass while bound by this contract. The range of his performances in this show, not least in this episode, shows what Ivan is truly capable of doing. He deserved not to be wasted just to fix conceptual flaws within a few minutes of screentime, but to be given the space to show us the compelling depths and layers of his character much more elaborately. Above all, he deserved his vision to be heard, his input to be considered, accomplished and experienced an actor as he is, and the end of his character, teased and highly anticipated from season 1 onwards, to be portrayed with due care and without haste.

Rewatching Bleach's Arrancar Arc just now and I'm screaming, crying, throwing up, etc because of how UPSET I am. as an avid poly lights shipper id like to personally thank anon for this because how right they are

i do not like polylights. it’s not even because of the ship itself moreso the fandom interpretation.

first off- polylights??? it’s only lightbulb, test tube, paintbrush and fan. why not flying buddies? if it’s going to be polylights, include all of the bright lights..

secondly, (where my main gripe falls) …why is all of the content of it so out of character? i’m sorry, but it’s true. i really do want to like the ship, but so far there’s been nothing to convince me to do so. it’s just the same stuff repeated over and over again- fluffy happy polycule except the polycule is barely a polycule at all and is basically just lightbrush and fantube. are we forgetting how dysfunctional they are? they might be friends, but those four all dating would drive them insane. i probably would be more interested if all if there was more content of them being as chaotic and complex as they are in the show, but so far there’s been none.

lastly.. why does the entire fandom act like those 4 are conjoined at the hips? they’re not. they are close friends, of course! but they really aren’t around eachother TOO often, because they clash with one another so easily. the only 2 really codependent are fan and test tube, and even at that, they tend to enjoy eachother’s presence even if not directly interacting with one another. parallel play besties :)

again, as i said, the flying buddies are fun friends! but they can’t constantly be around eachother without some sort of conflict, hence why they’re not all grouped up often. the bright lights as a team is inherently flawed and not as polished as the fandom seems to treat it- they aren’t as simple as one big happy family!

this isn’t really meant to be neg, rather just criticism. i suppose a big factor of my apathy towards the ship is that majority of the works involving it seem to overlook the troubles of the flying buddies and it makes me believe most of the fandom has not delved deep enough into their respective characters and relationships with eachother.. which is disappointing. so! to all of the polylights shippers out there, hear my cry- more nuanced depictions of them! please,,
