it is not controversial to say that if you cannot finacially, emotionally provide for a child and/or your genetics would lead to them suffering then you should not have said child.

Mohamed has nine people relying on yall. His mother has heart disease and struggles to walk and his little nephew got injured during one of the blasts. Theyā€™ve had to move around constantly like all Palestinians to survive on top of all this. Anything helps, but if you cannot donate you know the drill, reblog, share (multiple platforms!!), and share to people who can donate/boost.
It doesnā€™t matter how small your blog is or the ā€œaestheticā€, ANYONE CAN MAKE A CHANGE.

this is probably a strange thing to wonder lol but i wonder if jakurai has alive parents šŸ¤”
#this is vee speaking#like dohifuā€™s parents are presumably okay besides whatever honobono did to hifumiā€™s#and itā€™s probably because theyā€™re older we donā€™t hear of their parents but like it was a source of drama for otome our eldest character#so jakuraiā€™s parents can be a thing lol#(iā€™m acting like parental figures arenā€™t a driving force for a very large chunk of these characters lol)#see tho back when mtr was the primary brain rot i hc that jakurai was also an orphan lol#the backstory i gave that man before it was defined lmao#i thought he was a product of a child assassin program the government ran using orphans esp from the war#like jakuraiā€™s generation grew up with war and jakurai in particular was bred on it#and i used it to reason why jakurai has such a bleeding heart for children he didnā€™t want the kids to grow up like he did#canon has now said otherwise thankfully lmao but like he could still be an orphan lol#uhhhh itā€™s not like you need a deep backstory to want to heal but that saviour complex of his has been around for a very long while#he was in college already to be a doctor before the war started so presumably heā€™s always wanted to be a doctor right???#did the looming war influence him???? or did he have a similar familial reason like hitoyaā€™s to be a doctor????#like he lost his parents to disease and he was helpless to help#(because he was a child lol but kids blaming themselves for stuff they have no control over is a thing in hypmic lol)#but yeah hereā€™s some jakurai flavoured thought for today rare form on this blog nowadays lol#c: sensei

A cry for help from Gaza
My name is Salem, I am 26 years old. I am married to Hadeel, she is 25 years old, and we have two beautiful children: Laila (5 years old) and Bakr (five months old). We live in the northern part of Gaza.
Laila and Bakr are my heartbeat, the light of my life, and my everything.
Tumblr media
The horrific story of the recent war in Gaza
Since the beginning of the last war in Gaza, our home has been completely destroyed, forcing us to be displaced. We had to move more than 10 times to find safety. During this harrowing journey, we faced extreme hunger and malnutrition that almost claimed the lives of me and my children. In addition, we have been exposed to many serious infectious diseases and epidemics.
Before: This is our homeland, our dream, and our promising future.
Tumblr media
Unbearable hardships
Every day I have to travel long distances just to get water, and stand in lines for hours to get food. My children's mental health deteriorated due to the war, their education was interrupted, and they suffered from catastrophic hunger that almost claimed their lives.
After: This is our house, built with our sweat and effort, and it was completely destroyed.
Tumblr media
The right to a peaceful life
My children deserve to live a peaceful life free of fear and anxiety. I dream of your help to support my family and escape this genocide. Your help means the world to me and my children.
The cost of arranging travel for an adult outside Gaza currently varies
Between $5,000 and $7,000, and $2,500 for each child, in addition to a cost of living of $500 per month.
How can you help?
Your donations can be a beacon of hope for us. Every dollar can help save my children's lives and give them a chance to live in peace. Your prayers for us to overcome this ordeal and lift the siege are greatly needed
Laila: My beloved, the closest to my heart, and my little one.
Tumblr media
Bakr: My child who came during this horrific war.

Donate now and help us get to safety
May God reward you greatly for your generosity.
Background on the Gaza war
The war in Gaza has left hundreds of thousands of victims, destroyed infrastructure, and left many homeless. The humanitarian situation in the region has reached critical levels, with severe shortages of basic necessities such as food, water and health care. Children are the most affected, as they have lost their sense of security, education and normal life.
Your support is our hope
Your donation is the light that can guide us towards a better future. Don't miss the chance to be part of a story that saves a family suffering from unimaginable hardships.
Donate now and make hope possible
Thank you for your support and kindness.
My gratitude
Salem and family

When I was in vet school I went to this one lecture that I will never forget. Various clubs would have different guest lecturers come in to talk about relevant topics and since I was in the Wildlife Disease Association club I naturally attended all the wildlife and conservation discussions. Well on this particular occasion, the speakers started off telling us they had been working on a project involving the conservation of lemurs in Madagascar. Lemurs exist only in Madagascar, and they are in real trouble; theyā€™re considered the most endangered group of mammals on Earth. This team of veterinarians was initially assembled to address threats to lemur health and work on conservation solutions to try and save as many lemur species from extinction as possible. As they explored the most present dangers to lemurs they found that although habitat loss was the primary problem for these vulnerable animals, predation by humans was a significant cause of losses as well. The vets realized it was crucial for the hunting of lemurs by native people to stop, but of course this is not so simple a problem.
The local Malagasy people are dealing with extreme poverty and food insecurity, with nearly half of children under five years old suffering from chronic malnutrition. The local people have always subsisted on hunting wildlife for food, and as Madagascarā€™s wildlife population declines, the people who rely on so-called bushmeat to survive are struggling more and more. People are literally starving.
Our conservation team thought about this a lot. They had initially intended to focus efforts on education but came to understand that this is not an issue arising from a lack of knowledge. For these people it is a question of survival. It doesnā€™t matter how many times a foreigner tells you not to eat an animal youā€™ve hunted your entire life, if your child is starving you are going to do everything in your power to keep your family alive.
So the vets changed course. Rather than focus efforts on simply teaching people about lemurs, they decided to try and use veterinary medicine to reduce the underlying issue of food insecurity. They supposed that if a reliable protein source could be introduced for the people who needed it, the dependence on meat from wildlife would greatly decrease. So they got to work establishing new flocks of chickens in the most at-risk communities, and also initiated an aggressive vaccination program for Newcastle disease (an infectious illness of poultry that is of particular concern in this area). They worked with over 600 households to ensure appropriate husbandry and vaccination for every flock, and soon found these communities were being transformed by the introduction of a steady protein source. Families with a healthy flock of chickens were far less likely to hunt wild animals like lemurs, and fewer kids went hungry. Thats what we call a win-win situation.
This chicken vaccine program became just one small part of an amazing conservation outreach initiative in Madagascar that puts local people at the center of everything they do. Helping these vulnerable communities of people helps similarly vulnerable wildlife, always. If we go into a country guns-blazing with that fire for conservation in our hearts and a plan to save native animals, we simply cannot ignore the humans who live around them. Doing so is counterintuitive to creating an effective plan because whether we recognize it or not, humans and animals are inextricably linked in many ways. A true conservation success story is one that doesnā€™t leave needy humans in its wake, and that is why I think this particular story has stuck with me for so long.

I had to drive to this village today for essentially a general clinical examination for the kids under 5 years old in that area
I drove 45 km from the city to this village and found a man walking outside and asked him how I can get to the Anganwadi centre in that village. And he tells me that there are two of them in their village. And that one is apparently for all the dalit children and the other one is for the "other normal children"
