imagine you are an all seeing all knowing god narrator and an alive human boy and an alive human man who sold his soul to the devil and also you have been murdered twice (once by your best friend) and then your ex girlfriend/girlfriend/stranger the angel merges all realities together so that those things all have to be true in one space at one time. and so when your friends die you have to gently recycle them back into the narrative you have been burdened with caring for, watching a husk of yourself sit across from them in a diner booth. this happened to my friend jughead jones

it’s so crazy that when they said archie the musical would have “original songs” that included a joe iconis (of broadway here i come / be more chill fame) song that was on his 2022 album “album” sung by jimmy award winner andrew barth feldman (of dear evan hansen / being friends with alex boniello / co-star of jennifer lawrence in no hard feelings fame). and none of those words probably mean anything to most riverdale watchers but they mean everything to me.

the thing about beautiful riverdale is that there are a couple of people in my life who seem to have learned the trick to see me turn into the happiest person on earth with the biggest smile under any circumstances which is asking me about riverdale

GODDDD i just miss being able to watch new episodes of riverdale live and have FUN with them. i remember watching the josie and the pussycats episode in my tiny single dorm room with like 5 of my friends packed onto my twin bed and when archie kissed kevin on the cheek we all ERUPTED in a screaming fit. and then a few weeks later we all did the same thing with the next to normal episode and again like when charles burst into the room singing we stood up and cheered like our sports team had just scored a touchdown or whatever. and even though i didn’t really like s6 very much it STILL had moments like these in the majority of episodes. but now every week i watch it alone in my bed on my laptop and i spend the entire time brain rottingly bored at best and genuinely upset and angry at worst. like what happened i miss riverdale!!!! :(

also, for all the Riverdale misunderstanders out there: Riverdale is pulpy. NOT campy. very different things. it's not schlocky or kitschy either. it's pulpy. it's been pulpy from the first second to the last.

I can't believe Riverdale is gonna be over by the end of the month. A part of me wants to do a long recap video/series like the Mike's Mic Glee/Pretty Little Lists videos where I have like a running tally of all the serial killers and an increasingly convoluted relationship map. I don't really have the resources to do that but I do really want to

the argument for putting two openly gay characters in straight relationships for it’s penultimate season being period typical homophobia, but in the same vain ignoring the period typical racism so they can have their characters of color (namely the black ones) attend riverdale high is so funny to me. 

obviously, as a black person i don’t want to see racism portrayed in media, but i think it’s interesting that they’re making it more idilic in that regard. modern riverdale, had mayor mccoy getting racist hate mail, but the 50s riverdale is suddenly devoid of racism and has integrated schools? i don’t get it, but i also just do not understand how roberto’s mind works. he’s clinically insane. we’ll see how the writers (mis)handle these things... because “the best decade to be a teenager” was also just not great for marginalized people (which happens to be over half the characters)
