list 5 things that make you happy, then put this in the askbox of the last 10 people who reblogged something from you. spread the positivity!
!!! this was such a pleasant surprise to open my tumblr to
1. ZOOLOGY!! animals are the coolest things ever
iâve always wanted to go into a job that centers around animals, and iâm closer than ever to my dreams. iâm volunteering at a zoo, at my local nature center, dogsitting, and (even though i donât often post about it here) im working on Vulture Culture stuff again too.Â
everything about animals is fascinating, i could go on for hours about how much every animal i decide to look into and research sends me on days-long quests for more knowledge about them; their anatomy, their behaviors, their habitatsâŠÂ
2. SONIC!! i love me some speedy boi
but really, getting back into sonic stuff re-opened my passion for videogame design, art, writing and worldbuilding, and experiencing all my old favorite stuff all over again is a ton of fun. the games, the comics, the shows, the upcoming movie, itâs all great!! not to mention so much wonderful fanart, fanfiction, and fancomics.Â
iâve made a lot of friends because of it too. it wasnât exactly a âchoiceâ to come back into the fandom, but iâm very glad it happened.
3. CREATING!! my audience is me and me alone babey
i have a lot of creative hobbies (art, writing, playing ocarina, etc) that i can do at home and yall. its the best. i can make whatever i want whenever i want, all for myself, and no one could ever stop me. i can draw what i want to see, write what i want to read, play what i want to hear, i can *combine those things* however i think would be cool.Â
iâm in the middle of figuring out how to set up commissions and teaching myself how to paint digitally at the same time, so iâm keeping myself busyâplus iâve got Sonic OCs to draw, both my own and others!!
at the same time, iâm furthering my ocarina and general music skills, im considering learning how to play drums if i can sometime in the future, and im gonna see my favorite band (Walk Off The Earth) in concert with VIP tickets at the end of the month and im gonna get to talk to my music idols!!
4. MOVEMENT!! as in physical activity
i go to the same gym for Parkour/Freerunning classes and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu classes and i adore it there so much. my Parkour coach is great, heâs super friendly and willing to work with everyone to make sure weâre all learning at our own pace and getting the push we need to further our abilities. iâm the oldest and usually tallest in the class, not to mention im really strong, so my style is really unique to myself!! i like climbing and vaulting a lot, im working on my front flips (punchfront and webster) and its slowgoing but im getting there.
my parkour coach is actually a student with me in my BJJ class, so i get to fight him sometimes! heâs the reason iâm there in the first place!! he said i would be good at it so i tried the class and fell in loveâheâs a bluebelt, so he gave me his old whitebelt when i officially joined. iâve never felt more safe and empowered around a group of adult men (the women in the class usually go on the opposite night from me), iâm the youngest and smallest there so they all teach me ways to be really mean when weâre learning new things and everyone helps out everyone with technique and finding what works for different people. (i love attacking peopleâs arms and necks, so a lot of tricks to make it easier on my bad forearms and lightweight class!)
not to mention, the gym is openly LGBT+ friendly and all-inclusive of everyone of every race, religion, background, etc. i can be myself and not only feel safe, but learn how to make myself even stronger!
5. FOOD!! im a cooking gay
i love good food, and i love making good food and sharing it with people. i taught myself how to make different recipes, i experiment with different ingredients and flavors, and my extended family loves when i bring food that iâve cooked to family gatherings and holidays. (i canât wait til i have a gf i can cook for hehe)
iâm a big meat eater but i know i gotta get veggies and fruits in there somewhere, so learning how to cook is also helping me eat healthier (when i want to, that is) and make it taste good while im doing it.
#Asks and Answers!#Ask memes#sorta#its later than i thought it was so im gonna spread the positivity tomorrow!!

Lena Luthor x reader (Worked it out, and figured you out)
Request: I love your writing! Can you do one with Lena x fem!reader? It's Lena's first time in the DEO and sees reader training and gets hit with gay panic. Then both flirting over being complete science nerds. Thanks!! Â Â Â
a/n: YOU BET I CAN. And also... thank YOU! All the prompts you folks send me is what keeps this blog going! Iâm getting at it at a relatively steady pace I think, sometimes itâs a little bit difficult than other days to find inspiration, but somehow you all manage to surprise me and remind me of how wonderful this fandom is, and then it makes me want to work even harder and contribute what I can to it! So thank yâall so much!!
Fun little sidenote, itâs actually my birthday today! :D I have too many cute fic ideas swimming around in my head (which is a little bit of a rarity these days) and Iâm not even sure when Iâm going to get to write for them if Iâm going to be off being a loud, delinquent dumbass all weekend. But, yeah! Iâm feeling extra inspirational and thankful today... maybe that might even translate into some fics that nobody asked for LOL.
Have fun with this fic though yâall! I was in the mood to write something cracky with Jâonn in it and I have not a clue as to why... Youâre also a little bit of an ass in this one too but itâs totally fine, itâs part of your charm obviously
- - - - -
For as long as you can remember, you have always been a force of nature. You knew how to work hard and you knew just how hard to push yourself to make the reward that much sweeter.
Simply put, you had fun living life, and despite the handful of troubling setbacks and the unavoidable years-long turmoil that is the discomfort of adolescence, you still looked at the world like it was your playground.
As rambunctious and tenacious as you were, you had just as much discipline, and it paid off deliciously in a plethora of ways.
You would say the human body is a blessed vessel; the tone and curves of some, the muscle and elegance of others, the ability to persevere and flourish, to deconstruct and to rebuild, it amazed you all the same.
What amazed you particularly (and was frequently the subject of ire around all your friends) is how you could eat like absolute shit and still maintain the form that you do.
As it was, you found yourself at the DEO working off last nightâs conquest of an armyâs weight of cheesy garlic bread and a late night call with Dominoâs.
You loved where you work, you loved the fact that you could say you work for a secret government branch (but you couldnât actually say that, because the admission would cause a whole series of complications you have neither the attention span nor the patience to deal with), and what you loved the most was how spoiled you were with the training facilities.
There were the conventional weight and fitness rooms, the swimming pools, and the standard equipment one could find at any regular gym.
However, the DEO is a respectable, covert government operation and as such, it is absolutely required to have a parkour gym, multiple obstacle course racing circuits, several rock climbing walls which apparently, some of the analysts have hacked into to replicate a ninja warrior course, and even archery and knife throwing ranges, simply because why shouldnât the DEO have them?
And to think when you first arrived, you thought the Kryptonite lined sparring room made for Kara was the coolest thing youâd seen, how wrong you are now.
Youâre starting off easily before your workout, doing your stretches and lifting lighter weights than you usually would. You have to work harder this time - the sweet, sweet release of pizza is, admittedly, your greatest downfall, and you ought to work it off on top of the training you have to do for work.
You hop up and pull yourself up on a chin up bar and figure youâll make a leisurely time out of it - youâll wait until your arms and shoulders are screaming bloody murder at you before you focus on another part of your body.
You become well aware of the fact that itâs 6 oâclock in the morning and far too early than you would have the self-respect in any other career choice to stand for when you stifle a yawn and shake your head in an attempt to wake yourself up.
You skipped out on the coffee this time, supposing your nightâs misgivings had some consequence, and now you suspect youâre going to begin paying for it emotionally.
The voice of your director, Jâonn, pokes through your admittedly still sleepy haze and even before you see him you can hear that his tone is as cordial as you could expect from someone as stoic and brooding as him.
You see his figure approach from the entrance and beside him, a woman accompanies him, though you canât quite make out who she is.
Jâonn gives you a nod in acknowledgement and you return the sentiment while continuing your chin ups.
"The DEO has an abundance of training facilities that are of use to our agents, and hopefully it encourages them to be well-rounded in all aspects of the bodyâs functions. The investment pays off when combative performance on the field is maximized - it leaves lesser room for error in practice.â
The woman nods at his words and looks at the expansive room, seemingly impressed.
Youâre about ninety-five percent sure itâs Lena Luthor whoâs with him, and the directionless stream of consciousness monologue you have running through your head derails into curiosity when you wonder what it is sheâs doing here.
You have the notion she might be buying the DEO as well after her CatCo acquisition, and a cheeky smile begins to form on your lips when you think to vocalize the question to make sure it is Lena Luthor, of course, but then you see the mild look of warning in Jâonnâs face and youâve somehow forgotten that your boss can quite literally read your mind.
Despite the smile thatâs slowly forming on your lips, you raise your eyebrows in silent question and Jâonn shakes his head, the two of you sharing a wordless yet intelligible conversation.
You feel the weight of someoneâs gaze on you, and when your eyes fall on Lenaâs, you can see her mouth slightly agape as she looks at you.
You smile wolfishly at the sight and find yourself instantly awake, the gears in your head turning as you begin scheming.
All thoughts of your boss reading your mind dissipate in the well that is the endlessness of your thirst when you resolve to begin messing around with Lena a bit.
You make a show of letting go of one hand as you continue your chin ups one-handed - youâve decided at this very second that normal chin ups are boring anyway.
You think you can hear Jâonn face-palming, but you canât be entirely sure.
Lena still stares at you, you can just feel her gaze taking in every inch of your form as you lift yourself effortlessly.
You bring a hand up and give her a goofy wave, a stupid grin spreading on your lips as you emphasize the extent of your strength and ease, and you think you see her jaw become slacker.
You watch as her eyes trail up to meet yours, and instantly, they widen. This time, you hear Jâonn inhaling deeply and you hear the imperceptible clearing of his throat, no doubt trying to fathom just what it was heâd done to land himself in the timeline where heâs meant to be dealing with your gay foolishness on so very early of a morning.
âMs. Luthor, would you care to see the rest of the establishment?â
I think weâve established sheâd care to see the rest of my workout routine, you think mischievously to yourself.
Jâonn sighs deeper and you can hear as it becomes the beginnings of an actual honest-to-god groan, and youâd be impressed with yourself if you werenât so amused by your current preoccupations.
âYes, of course,â Lena says after staring at you for another moment too long than is socially acceptable.
âAgent (Y/L/N), Iâll see you out on the floor,â Jâonn addresses you, seeming to be more than eager to leave the room.
âYes, sir! See you around.â
Youâve decided that youâve worked out enough of your one arm and you have to switch it up. You extend your arm fully and let your entire weight hang on one arm before you spring yourself high enough to let go of the bar, easily falling into rhythm again as you grip the bar with your other hand and begin to work out your other arm.
You bring yourself up lazily and give another wave to Lena.
âSee ya, Ms. Luthor!â you all but yell across the room.
For whatever reason, you feel in your entire being the compulsion to make her squirm; perhaps you know how easy it is to get a reaction, perhaps because youâre being egged on by the presence of your boss and pushing the limits of insubordination has always given you a thrill - perhaps, more simply, you are a little shit and you live for the excitement of testing people.
Jâonn practically leaves Lena behind as he turns his back on you a bit too eagerly, Lena sparing you one last look and you wink at her, enjoying the knowledge that even from a distance you can see how flustered she is from your gesture.
You let your one-handed workout run its course and make your way to the rowing machine. You go through the leg press and your battle rope exercises hastily just so you can get to your favourite part of the DEOâs training facilities and the only reason you woke up so early in the first place.
You love the fact that deep hidden in the DEOâs ominious looking presence, a freerunning playground is at your very disposal, and you were notorious for being the agent who practically lived on it.
If your colleagues didnât know you any better, theyâd say you only agreed to your recruitment with the DEO because you had access to what is essentially five gyms in one, which is only fifty percent of the case if you are to be honest.
But you ended up loving what you do anyway, the point is moot and it all worked out in the end.
Youâre on your third run of going through your freerunning and at this point, youâve stopped running to work out and are more than pleased to just be screwing around.
One of your field partners, Davis, showed up at some point looking just as tired as you first did, and you smirked as she side-eyed your cheeriness, seemingly capable of only a grunt in greeting as she made her way to the spin bikes.
You feel another presence in the room, and you glance at the entrance to see who else of your squad decided to make a surprise early appearance but you see Lena again, this time eyeing you with confident curiosity.
You smile mischievously, not bothering to hide it as you acknowledge her attention, and if you showed off just a little bit more, you definitely wouldnât have denied it.
You make your way to Lena through flipping and diving and vaulting various obstacles, because walking up to her like a normal person is far too conventional and you are so much better than that.
For her part, she looks impressed by your showboating, and you take your time walking up to your bag as you wipe your face off with a towel and let it drape over your shoulders.
You make a spectacle of showing as much of your body as possible, Lena becoming increasingly flustered again as you get closer, and when youâre standing in front of her you put your hands on your hips.
âCouldnât get enough, eh?â you ask with a grin on your face.
Lena takes in your body and you watch as her eyes stop at your stomach, the tone of your abs slightly glistening with a subtle sheen of sweat. She blinks several times before snapping out of her reverie.
âIâm more impressed by how little space the DEO has used up to fit so much into one tiny place. You wouldnât even guess this was here just from the outside.â
âYeah, I bet,â you say dubiously. âSo are you buying us out too?â
Lenaâs eyes snap up at yours in mild offense, âno, I am not. Iâm only here to sign an NDA. Jâonn has been gracious enough to show me around since my resources and knowledge could be beneficial here.â
You regard her carefully for once, really taking in her figure and you begin to scratch the surface of fathoming the wonder that is the great Lena Luthor.
You think you mutter a âholy shitâ to yourself in a low enough voice, but you hear her chuckle and you realize you might have been a bit louder than you thought.
âWell shit, how are you supposed to run L-Corp and CatCo and spend your time here? Do you even have hobbies? Arenât you going to burn out?â
Lena scowls again and your lips quirk into a smile.
âIâll deal with that when I get there. Frankly, Iâll go wherever Iâm needed, but Iâm prioritizing CatCo at the moment since itâs a new acquisition, but of course the DEO is exceptional in its necessity and scope.â
You hum in consideration and shift your weight, bringing a hand up to your forehead to wipe at the excess of sweat still there.
You suspect Lena is trying her absolute hardest to not let her eyes drop to your abs again, and you laugh softly to yourself at the thought. When you move your eyes to look at her, you catch her staring at your arms rather intensely and you break out into full laughter.
For now, you decide, youâll let it slide.
âWell, thatâs a shame. Your last TED talk on AI brought up a lot of interesting things I never really considered before. Are you not going to do anything about that?â
Lenaâs eyes snap to you again and thereâs a disbelieving look on her face.
âYou watched my TED talk?â
You hesitate, âuh, yeah? Is that not a thing I should do? Youâre pretty much a genius, itâd be interesting to hear what you have to say. And it does help youâre a lot better looking than the majority of your counterparts in STEM.â
Lena laughs at your backhanded compliment and tilts her head in challenge.
âAll this talk of yours and for all I know, you vehemently deplore everything I surmise.â
âNo, not at all,â you reply with sincerity. âYouâre pretty much one of the only people who are pioneering some sort of course for AI technology right now in the country, if not the grander spectrum of the world. Human technology and AI is a whole different playing field, and who knows what otherworldly technologies there are that surpass our own? In this world anyway, we have to stick with what we know and not mess around with other tech.â
Lena smiles broadly at your response, seeming to be absolutely taken with your engagement.
âBut if we do have access to alien technology, at the very least should we not examine and study it thoroughly to compare and see how we can apply certain principles to our own Earth technologies?â she asks curiously.
âI donât think we should. It works on their planet, and weâre at the stage of scientific development we are currently at for a reason. You even brought it up yourself, AI is more than just a technological endeavour.
âYou made pretty compelling arguments about how this is a science that is matter of ethics and philosophy and other deeper existential inquiry. Honestly, I donât really think our society is ready for or even capable of understanding that kind of introspection or critical thinking - not in the science realm and most definitely not in the everymanâs realm.â
Thereâs a softer look about Lena, and you donât really have time to think much of it when you add another afterthought, seemingly reeling at the turn of your conversation.
âI mean, you see how we still act about living among aliens, you really think weâre ready to make something thatâs capable of emulating our intelligence? Using alien technology to speed up a process that we are socially and culturally just not ready for is such a bad idea. Until we grow as a society and develop together, we canât just push forward and force something like that into the mix. It would just be detrimental to introduce something we donât understand.â
Lena smiles at you meaningfully as you finish your little rant. You think you see something like fondness in her look, but you think nothing of it for now.
âWell, Iâm glad my talk has impressed quite a lot on you,â she says earnestly after a moment.
âIâm not just all muscle, you know,â you reply cheekily.
âOf course not. No matter how exquisite you look, I donât think Iâd be much interested in merely staring at you in silence for an extended period of time.â
Your raise your eyebrows at the remark and she squints playfully at you in jest.
âWhy donât we continue this compelling discussion weâre both evidently capable of over dinner? You can get your delightful conversation and stare at me for as long as youâd like.â
You smirk when you see the slight flush of colour on her face.
Lena hums in mock consideration, âI donât know, it would be rather inappropriate if you went to dinner with your shirt off. I might just have to pass.â
âWho said we had to go out?â you state suggestively.
Something flashes in Lenaâs eyes, but the sentiment is fleeting. When she replies in a low voice, you feel a swirl of excitement kindling low in the pit of your stomach.
âYou seem to enjoy playing with me,â she says.
âIâm not playing with you. Iâm not doing anything.â You move just the slightest bit closer to her.
âPerhaps thatâs what youâd call it, but that only means youâre letting yourself get carried away by it,â and then, you add slowly, âthat only means itâs working.â
You think Lenaâs forgotten to breathe, but she looks at you defiantly and you smile at her look.
Lena still doesnât say anything, just keeps looking at you in challenge and with interest and you think to fill the silence.
âYou know, Iâm aware that youâd hate to part with the strapping image of me in nearly nothing, but I do have to put a shirt on again at some point.â
âBy all means, go ahead,â Lena says, this time unabashedly trailing her eyes over your body one last time and biting her lip when she catches your eye.
You heart skips a beat and you feel yourself become warmer. You donât say goodbye to Lena, somehow you know sheâll still be around when you come back from the locker rooms.
You spend the moment of reprieve that you get hidden away to replay your interaction with Lena and you canât help but smile to yourself in amusement. Thereâs something about her that makes you come more alive and experience everything more intensely, and you think youâre already hooked on the feeling.
When you get back to the entrance to the training room where you think Lena is still waiting, you hear laughter and catch the figures of Kara and Alex.
âSo youâve met Agent (Y/L/N) finally? Seems like it was only a matter of time. Sheâs an actual monkey, have you seen her working that parkour course like itâs nothing?â you hear Alex say.
âLena, are you okay? You look like youâre having trouble breathing,â Kara adds.
Your laughter catches their attention and you watch Lena nearly stutter in protest.
âMs. Luthor was particularly interested in the fitness facilities here, suffice it to say,â you say as you approach the group.
âYeah, I wonder why,â Alex mutters under her breath.
Kara nudges an elbow into her and Alex flinches with a loud groan.
âBut weâve learned that I am the most beautifully complex creature, equal parts alluring, intelligent, and pretty drop dead gorgeous, so weâre going out to dinner later.â
Lena sputters in surprise, âand when exactly did I agree to this?â
âYou donât seem the type to be giving so much of your attention to someone who didnât deserve it, Ms. Luthor,â you say with a wink. âBut no oneâs stopping you from backing out.â
When Lena does nothing but shake her head in annoyance with you, you take that as your approval and you grin to yourself. You think that youâll ask her out properly again when youâre both alone.
â(Y/N), keep it in your pants until weâre gone, please,â Alex says as she rolls her eyes.
âAnd be decent when Jâonnâs around, he can read minds, remember,â Kara supplies helpfully.
Suddenly, Lenaâs eyes widen comically, and the knowing look Alex gives you and the blush that colours Karaâs cheeks has you bursting into laughter.
Lena mutters something quickly under her breath that you couldnât quite catch, and then sheâs leaving the group and waving goodbye as she hastily makes her departure.
You think about how much fun youâre going to have teasing her about your bossâ otherworldly abilities and sharing your own stories of a similar folly.
Itâs only later you realize that you somehow landed a date with Lena Luthor, and youâve long ago stopped laughing and instead opted for mild panic at the very fact.

Caught By Your Past
24th Part
Fandom: Assassinâs Creed Pairing: Altair x Malik Warnings: modern AU, mature, OOC, original female character; unbetaed.
A/N: Hereâs to a better Monday (hopefully)
Even a snail-speed did not stop a development. If somebody tried to put it into a picture show, it would be a night or a hanging-out nap per slide and each would star Altair a bit closer to the bed than the one before.
As much as Malik was trying to keep his annoyed facade going and on, things were gradually changing for them and if he should be honest at least to himself, he didn't do his best to avoid it. He made the exact opposite actually â which meant letting things happen. Therefore, they had trash-talks and they didn't tiptoe around each other. Neither missed the opportunity for a good ribbing; Altair had nagging down to a science and Malik always repaid his affection in kind with a dash of dry & salty on top. His unparalleled claim on the bed stayed respected.
Among other things, the three of them also had a movie night, full of Malik's condescending remarks aimed either at the screen or at Altair who kept shoving his feet on his lap and his sister lording over them both with popcorn thrown at whichever of them she decided deserved it the most at a randomly selected moment; which ended spectacularly with half-a-comforter and the same amount of a passed-out sister on him, exclusive Backpain edition of a Death in The Making and Altair seated on the floor in between his legs, out cold as well.
They still did not âget their freak onâ â and thank you, sis, there is never going to be any after hearing you sing-rap⊠What the even⊠What was that? Altair nearly laughed his ass off when he heard that one. Must have been something real dreadful then.
It was only a matter of time until this unmanned train took them to another level, though. Therefore, Malik wasn't surprised when one day he found himself lying in his bed with Altair loosely spooning him. Either a lethargy hit his system hard or his brain stopped overthinking everything for that moment; maybe both. But he didn't pull away and neither did he kick Altair off the bed.
Being tense was just a far-off memory now; one muscled arm thrown over Malik's side in a relaxed manner only accentuated the feeling. Random patterns being drawn on his hip... How exactly did they get there? He honestly couldn't tell â or remember. The only thing his mind was able to recognize, be aware of and distinguish was the proximity, warmth and overall tranquil ease of the moment that he was soaking up. Things he grew unaccustomed to overtime slowly settling over his body, then gradually seeping into him.
As sappy as it sounded even in his own head, Malik didn't want to lose this. Not again. It was worth everything, all the costs that went along with it. Like it had been worth it to the very moment he could not keep up. Like the memory was, still.
Recently, Altair's phone came back to life. For the whole span of his visit here the device must've been on plane mode or something, otherwise there would be no reasonable explanation of the phone suddenly blasting various hits through the flat so much only as of late. Malik could count on the fingers of one hand how many times he saw the man use the device before. That sudden trilling mania somehow popped the isolated-reality bubble which formed around the three of them.
The knowledge of the world outside, its existence, was always there; Malik interacted with it all the time, contrary to popular belief. The amount was limited, but there. Intellectually, he got that covered. Still, as absurd as it sounded, that cursed piece of technology set all alarms in Malik's head off. Soon after he realized why. There was still the rest of the world that could concern Altair and worse â that would demand him back. And as much as Malik was sure of his own worth, accepting that wasn't as easy as it sounded. The world was exactly what took Altair away from him the last time, too, after all.
This was nonsense. He behaved like a teenage girl here. They were good and those were just silly phone calls. And if he strengthened his own hold on the arm embracing him a bit so what. It was comfortable, and he fucking liked it.
It was going to be fine, he firmly decided. Suck it up.
Trying to hide the subtle change behind reasoning, he shot off the first question that came to mind.
âWhat do you do for work anyway?â Coming to think of that, it wasn't a stupid one. What was stupid was the fact that even after three weeks, Malik actually didn't know the answer.
âI'm a BASE jumper.â Fingers kept on drawing yet another pattern into Malik's skin, obviously disinterested in the topic and overall not finding it worth stopping what they were doing. Which perfectly complemented Altair's unphased words. Malik? Not so much. His muscles spasmed and his whole body froze.
Well, Altair never did anything by halves, did heâŠ
His anger simmered forth and an elevated pulse didn't stay far behind. Having to call upon the trademark scowl to get back where it belonged only made Malik register that it was missing in the first place and what an utter wanker!
There was never a better opportunity to drop that pin.
Dear idiot, have you ever heard of the silence beforeâ
Apparently, Altair never did, because he didn't make a mad dash for exit the very second.
A book hit Altair's head.
Fast.
Hard.
âYou told me you're staying, you fucker!â Malik surged up, glaring at the liar. Does he honestly think Malik's an idiot who doesn't know what BASE jumpers do to get their rocks off?!
âI am, though!â Altair followed his example and as much as his voice was vehement, his face was painted with a dumbass look. Unsurprisingly, it didn't keep strictly to his face; Malik could almost see the idiocy seeping into the brain matter, too. As if Altair needed any more.
âNo, you're not! You travel the whole blasted world!â
Trying to kill yourself in the process!
âMalik, what the hell?!â Self-preservation instincts must've finally kick in, because Altair made a quick escape out of the bed. The temptation of maiming him lessened a bit. For now.
That uncomprehending, confused expression didn't disappear, though.
As if he had any right-
âI've said what my job is right on the first day here. What's so wrong about it all of a sudden?â
Way to make Malik go beet red. Because, unbeknownst to him, the brunette pointed out that it was Malik's own fault. This is what you get for spacing out at a wrong moment. Altair must've mentioned his occupation when Malik was still too busy trying to ride the sudden tsunami wave ofâŠeverything when he saw Altair for the first time in twelve years. Not only was he acting like an absolute moron just seconds ago, but he was also frustrated and desperate now â thanks to his own lapse. That was just soâ!
He hurled yet another book Altair's way, wishing he could fling it at himself instead.
 ***
After Altair left to seek safety outside the room, Malik started to gradually cool down. It didn't happen of its own accord; the anger would most probably insist on staying until it burned him up physically just as it had mentally, but Malik wasn't fond of letting anything or anyone control him. He might've had a temporary, weak moment, but it was time to reign the fire back in. Only to find out he had nothing to do.
No, let him rectify that statement. He had loads to do and the only thing that separated him from it was the power button on his laptop. Currently, however, he would only add more errors than corrections. Disgusted at himself for such loss of control, the more motivation it was to recall his unfocused mind back in order. If he ever wanted to regain his mental equilibrium back, though, he had to divest himself of the pressing distraction. And the first step to achieve that was to address the matter. So, folding his arms on his chest, he did.
As much as both him and Altair were stubborn, as much as the room refugee was venturous in his very core, Malik was proud. Not that he didn't have grounds to be. However sometimes, the trait made it hard to admit a mistake of his own doing. He was very careful to avoid situations that would push him into the very act, but nobody's perfect and the recent argument had only proven that statement once again. Malik was adept at owning his mistakes nowadays; he still did not enjoy doing that but was capable of the action. That alone wasn't all there was to the problem, was it.
The real issue was Altair's... job. Hobby. Both, because Altair would not spend an hour of his time on something that wouldn't be worth it to him. Arguing aside; the thing was serious. Dangerous business. Heaps of adrenaline. Exactly what Altair always craved. Malik was no stranger to dealing with this situation. An exact same one. He could swear it wasn't so hard to do when he was seventeen, though. And back then? Altair was far from holding back, too. Those who'd dare to think that him being younger forced some limits on him would be sorely mistaken. He used to dab into all sorts of things anyway which was no wonder, considering his crew of madness.
Ezio was overly fond of walls to the point that indoor wall climbing didn't even register on his radar anymore and instead, he went for urban parkour and freerunning. While Altair and the Italian weren't necessarily joined at the hip â small miracle and mercy spared on Malik â they sure shared similar, if not identical mindsets overall. Kenway would be another rebellious breed; mostly into activities involving water. These two, he and Ezio, were really tight, therefore where Ezio was, Kenway turned out to be nearby as well and vice versa. Therefore, although their diverging hobbies, the guys stole moves and tricks from each other and developed their styles even further down the road. Bec seemed like the least insane of the bunch, but even she had her own brand of crazy. In her case, the calling was technology, which sounded innocent enough. Until Malik witnessed her âfucking aroundâ on a skateboard and glanced off a part of her snowboard-rave holiday trip, documented with the help of her baby drone.
That would be the main influential group of people that surrounded Altair for what seemed like ever since forever. And the teen wholeheartedly inhaled all he could from each one of them and then some, because his own specialization? Heights and jumps. Seriously, if you saw a spot so high your head spun, and Altair wasn't there already? All you had to do was mention the location.
Malik had been fine with who Altair was when they hit it off. He knew the guy equaled a walking, unbridled composition of insanity. They couldn't've been more different and that was fine as well. Thorough the time they've been an item, there were countless occasions where Altair turned up with some sort of injury â bones broken, black eyes, bruised ribs, cuts, you name it. Far from ideal to an outsider and yes, Malik wasn't delighted with all the bloody clothes either. Hell, the medicine cabinet must have gotten more action than he did in total. But when push came to shove, Malik would always accept it.
Accept it.
Malik reverted back into his present self. The one that was now clenching its fists and teeth. Unclenching his hands, releasing them out of the spastic prison, he forced the real issue â the truth out.
He was afraid.
Fear got to him this time around and it was the bone chilling kind, too. It was so easy to believe that Altair couldn't die, that nothing serious could happen to him when he was younger. The teen had pulled through so many failed attempts at whatever; he seemed immortal and excluded that level of confidence as well. Why would Malik worry back then?
Altair still got that vibe going on. The only difference here was, that Malik went with what his brain said much more these days. He was older. He was supposed to be sober-minded; smart. A fat lot of good it did to him here.
He didn't like it, alright?! He. Fuckin'. Didn't. BASE jumping was hazardous â at best. It was something Altair obviously had to do, loved to do, though. So, in the end, it didn't really matter what Malik thought. This wasn't about whether Altair would stop, quit the job for him or not. It was about Malik deciding to either go and tell Altair to fuck off or apologize and hope for the best.
He took in his whole room. The rackety chair still stood on all four, his books were sorted precisely the way he left them, there was no secondary background sound, only the wind sweeping through the trees outside.
Neither here nor there, that's where Malik stood at the moment and for the next couple of minutes. Then, done with the limbo, he bit the bullet, leaving the door open as he marched forth.
 ***
Of course this would be when it all went to shit.
Altair had no idea what exactly provoked Malik to such extent, but that didn't mean the result would disappear. He was still in the kitchen and Malik was still in his room.
Until he wasn't.
Hearing a noise behind him he spun around only to end up with a chest full of Malik's forehead. This was certainly unusual. No matter, he was far from refusing the gesture and what it meant. Wrapping his arms around the man, he was just glad that whatever that previous outburst was for, it was gone and done with; over.
Not that he wasn't interested in finding out what caused it; Malik wasn't one to lash out for something trivial. Altair sensed it was better to let it be, though. If and when Malik would want, he'd tell him. Of that, his sorry exiled ass was sure. The man was the least person to keep his mouth shut if he didn't like something, Altair thought with certain amount of affection.
âWanna go grab a coffee?â They were bound to separate any minute now, so he might as well rid them of any possible awkwardness.
âGot to get my phone,â was a mumbled reply before Malik began pulling away. Altair didn't stop him.
âI'll wait by the door.â

Are you glad @joeyadrian was born? We are đ Go wish him a happy birthday đ Here he is doing one of the longest lines you will ever see đ¶ . ⏠Read Joey's thoughts on this line ⏠. Is this the longest Freerunning line you've seen!?!? Definitely the longest I've ever done!!! âȘ Just before leaving for Turkey I made a day trip up to @origins.pk with @cstorm365 While there I gave myself a challenge to come up with and practice a #60secondline within an hour while using as much of the gym as I could, then film the results! Here it is đ . You can't see but just after the lache pre, before the climb up, there's a kong pre in the middle lol had to mention it cuz the plyo out of it into the climb up was very tiring! Thankfully I got this one done in one attempt! đ (1 filmed attempt, I practiced the whole thing during the 1 hour prep) . This line actually ended up being slightly OVER a minute! I end with a cart full for anyone wondering lol. Full thing will be on Facebook. (Its only like 1:02 I think) âȘ There are a couple spots in here where I wanted to add a bit more difficulty but after going through my first "dry" run (running the path but not doing every single move) I realized I would have absolutely NO energy to spare by the end xD It was just before the wall flip that the exhaustion started to kick in and after the lazy-roll my whole body became one large limp noodle and my brain was having a really hard time telling it to move LOL you can see me slow down a lot there. This was the first line where, after every little stumble towards the end I could hear my brain saying "alright, you messed up time to stop... No really just stop... No need to finish". I pushed through it but In hind sight that's probably a good sign that I pushed a little too hard for this one and is definitely something I'll listen to in the future since it could have easily led to an injury if I wasn't careful." ----------------------- #TakeFlight #TKFLT #JoeyAdriab #Parkour #Freerunning #Flow #Traceur #functionaltraining #parkouring #run #ninjawarrior #sideflip #roofgap #altcreed #running #parkourlife #frontlever #streetworkoutrus #training #movement #leap #lache #vault #line #FlyWithUs (at Origins Parkour)
