Weight Loss Grill Recipes That Are Healthy And Delicious
Weight loss is particularly not an easy journey especially if you're just starting out. You will get hungry and the cravings for flavorful food will be hard to resist. Don't deprive yourself of hearty meals - grill your fruits, vegetables or lean meat for flavorful, smoky and satisfying dishes without having to feel guilty about shedding off some extra pounds.
Try these healthy and delicious weight loss grill recipes:
Kale and Mushroom Turkey Burger
What you need:
8 burger buns, preferably wheat
1/2 kilogram ground turkey
4 baby Bella mushrooms
2 cups fresh curly kale
1/4 cup chopped sweet onion
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 tablespoon finely chopped fresh oregano leaves
1 tablespoon chimichurri sauce
1/4 teaspoon minced garlic
1/4 teaspoon salt
Avocado slices, for serving
Heat the olive oil in a pan over medium-high heat and sauté onion and garlic until tender. Stir in mushrooms and kale then cover and cook until vegetables are softened. Allow to cool. When ready, combine mushroom and kale mixture with ground turkey and season with oregano, chimichurri and salt. Using clean hands, form into patties. Cook on a pre-heated grill over medium-high heat, flipping once, to desired doneness. Coat buns with sauce of choice then top with turkey patty and avocado slices.
Honey-Yogurt Grilled Peaches
What you need:
3 peaches, halved and pitted
2 cups plain Greek yogurt
1/4 cup honey
Cinnamon powder
Mix together Greek yogurt and honey in a small bowl. Set aside. Cook peaches on a pre-heated grill over medium heat, cut side down, until grill marks appear. When ready, top grilled peaches with honey and yogurt. Sprinkle with cinnamon powder before serving.
Grilled Beef and Sweet Potato Wraps
What you need:
6 whole grain tortillas
1/2 kilogram sirloin steaks, sliced thinly
6 cups cubed sweet potatoes, steamed
3 cups thinly sliced cabbage
1 cup thinly sliced white onion
1 cup thinly sliced fresh basil
3 tablespoons lime juice
3 tablespoons low sodium soy sauce
2 tablespoons canola oil
1 1/2 teaspoons chili garlic sauce
1 teaspoon brown sugar
Cook beef on a pre-heated grill over medium high heat until just cooked through (slightly pink in the center), about 2 to 3 minutes per side. To make the dressing, mix together lime juice, soy sauce, canola oil, chili garlic sauce and brown sugar in a glass jar and shake to combine ingredients well. Place cabbage and onion in a bowl and toss with half of the dressing. Place grilled beef, sweet potatoes and cabbage salad in a serving platter. Drizzle beef and sweet potatoes with remaining dressing. Serve with tortillas.

Let's be honest food gets a lot of bad press - bacon is killing you, avocados are killing the planet and are we allowed to drink red wine at the moment or is that being demonised too??? But truth be told WE NEED FOOD TO SURVIVE. Last week I shared a lot about what I eat on my stories (checkout my fitness highlight) and the most common comment I got was 'how do you eat that' • Well quite easily - I open my mouth and chew ... I jest, I jest! Honestly though, I was shocked how many people thought I ate a lot / not enough, ate well or normal and ultimately ate as I do and look as I do. I practise what I preach - I enjoy a balanced diet where nothing is off limits and I workout 5/6 days a week • When I want to lose a little weight as I do at the moment, I utilise a slight calorie deficit to ensure that I'm consuming fewer calories than I expend • When I want to maintain I create an equal energy balance AND if I want to gain muscle I flip that deficit on it's head and eat slightly more calories than I expend. I'm not sure if you've noticed, but I have NOT been posting any food items for the last 7 days. . That's because I've been having a complete Temper Tantrum!! 😭🤬😤 . Temper Tantrums are not pretty on a 48 year old women!! (Big shocker 😳) AND guess what... all it did was HURT 😞 me and put me a week further away from my goals. . On Good Friday I decided that I "deserved" a break, and that I would get back after it on Monday... . Well it's Friday, and I am feeling bloated, and swollen, and 😡 with myself for giving into my emotions.
