Heads Up, Seven Up / Last Lines
So - been a long while since I tackled a lot of the tags that I've been tagged in. So to @lockejhaven, @space-cadead, @marigoldispeculiar, @writingpotato07 - uhh you guys are awesome, thanks for thinking to include me and I'm sorry it has taken me so long.
As far tagging goes, this is going to be a free for all. Because how much I am putting in here.
Heads Up Seven - last seven lines! Only I feel like this won't be but I am working on NaNoWriMo soooo this may not have seven.
--
“There’s something you need to know, dearest Salima.” Janvier’s smile became a little too wide for Sellie’s liking, her hand gripping just a little too tight to her cheek. Her nails dug into the surface of her skin. All of her hair, flowing and crimson nearly draped over Sellie as if ready to drown her.
Not like Sellie could run. She wanted to.
She didn’t have to say a word - Janvier already knew.
“The eyes and ears can be fooled, but the spirit never lies.”
She released Sellie from that crimson, never releasing her gaze until she turned on her heel.
It took several hours to feel like she could properly breathe again.
--
And some last lines: there will be few here. I will put a read more here. These aren't one after the other as far being in a paragraph.
They are are not all connected, fyi.
Last Line #1:
Was this all legacy? All legacy ever was or would be?
Last Line #2
From his skin to his bones, it was like something had burst open.
Last Line #3
Another thing unspoken: without Ana, there was something her father lacked to make up for for her presence.

Heads Up Seven Up
Tagged once again by @kyofsonder for another game of Heads Up Seven Up. Once again, seven lines from my WIP. Back again, with the Halos and Poppies WIP (which at the moment, is probably going to be the actual name somehow).
I'm going to tag the mention of blood just in case.
--
A thin trail of blood slid down Sellie’s nose. She tried to lift her hands up - probably to wipe the blood away in the immediate moment - but she ended up balling them into fists. She could barely get them up to her face before those fists started shaking. Orazio suddenly felt a lump in his throat, equally silent.
Sellie opened her mouth but no sound came out. Taking a step back, she looked to Orazio with desperate eyes before she bowed her head down once more. Fat tears were already falling to the ground, followed by another small droplet of blood.

Heads Up Seven 2: Electric Boogaloo
Thank you @saltysupercomputer for the tag!
I tag @cookiecutterwrites , @kjscottwrites , @charlesjosephwrites as well as whoever wants to do this!
I kind of been between some projects. For Doll and Crest, I wanted to try something of first person so whille not final, it is kinda experimental. This is from Doll's POV and it might be a little over seven sentences because ayyy.

There was no one as captivating as Cressida Hawthorne.
I spent more hours at her home by the coast that summer, surrounded by complete strangers than I ever did at my own house anymore. She had just begun to put on shows for the parties her mother hosted. I was never sure whose idea it was - Crest or her mother’s. But those performances were all hers, standing before a crowd on a stage with everything created from her very hands. Her routines were dark and somber, carried with all the grace from her many years in her mother’s ballet studio. All without a single world uttered.

So, I've been tagged for Heads Up Seven Up a few times.
Thank you to @daisywords, @kyofsonder and @houndsofcorduff for tagging me. I know I've been a little quiet but I have chipped away at a little bit of a scene so it's more like Heads Up *insert the amount of sentences below to make up for it up*. I'm actually kind of a little proud of it, and for some reason I can't indent it right now so it's a little smaller text down below so I profusely apologize.
I tag @asher-orion-writes , @leave-her-a-tome , @whatheangelsdreamof, @midnight-and-his-melodiverse and @mercurialsmile (as well as anyone who wants to participate!)

“I haven’t - I mean, I never really got to know her.”
Her mother. Ana Wakefield. The only monument to her existence was the wedding picture kept in Sellie’s room - her father “gifted” it to her. She was not even ten yet when this happened and she spent nights looking over the picture, tracing her fingers over the frame that kept it preserved. Familiar bright yellow eyes, one hiding behind long ringlets of hair. In the picture, dark and pale alternated.
They had married while still enraptured in their studies - colleagues in suits and dresses in the background. Only an observant eye could see the growing curve of her belly. Ana’s neat handwriting on the back with a bright red marker, “To the betterment of humanity.”
Her father only gave her this picture - no conversation, no words. Never in her life had she heard him mention Ana in any way, not even some kind of story. Prior to that time of her life, it never crossed Sellie’s mind to ask of her because all she really knew of her family was her father. Everyone else who worked in that lab filled that space - sorta.
There was a moment in the night weeks later where Sellie had caught a glimpse of her father looking into her room as she stared on end at the picture. He stood by the door of her room, arms folded over his chest. What followed had been a tense silence.
She had wanted to ask him then, “You’re so quiet. Do you really love her?”
But perhaps she already knew the answer. He never said anything to her after getting caught in the act of watching her.
