I've been waiting all afternoon and evening for the mechanic to call me and tell me he's done with my car and I can come and get it and I was about to call my coworker to ask her if I could drive with her to work tomorrow only for him to call me at 9:30pm and say that he fixed my car hours ago and just forgot. to call me. and started to work on a different car instead

changed my headlights today, feeling super accomplished

#a week and a half ago one of my tail lights went out #and I bought the replacement bulbs for $14 and my dad helped me replace them and it took like an hour #and then today one of my headlights went out so I bought the bulbs for $52 and then I replaced them both in 5 minutes total #feeling very proud of myself #I definitely saved money doing it myself and now I know how to do it for next time #I really thought the headlights would have been more difficult to replace than the tail lights but actually they were way easier

i've had one tail light that's been out on my car for like. three years. do not say anything i do not want to hear it. but i bought replacement bulbs literally so long ago and they've moved house with me several times. but i realised yesterday that my other tail light has also carked it. so i went downstairs before to change the bulbs only to find that the bulbs the man at the auto parts shop sold me were brake light bulbs, not tail light bulbs. like, i did not read the packet, clearly, but he also clearly did not listen to me at the time and i definitely remember emphasising tail lights, not brake lights. anyway, it's whatever; i'll buy a new set tomorrow and change them. and if my brake lights ever die i have replacement bulbs.

#i've never changed a bulb but it looks pretty easy from reading the manual and also fiddling around in there just before #just need the right bulbs -_-#i have only one headlight working at the moment as well it's very fine here

It should be obvious but if its raining, if its foggy, if the sun is setting, if there is any limited visibility at all, or if you see other people with their headlights on put your headlights on and double check that they are on.

I am BEGGING younger drivers. drive carefully. give yourself room. for fuck's sake use your turn signals and don't fucking weave thru traffic. this is not a video game, this is real life and if you get into an accident, you could get killed or kill someone else VERY easily

#USE YOUR FUCKING TURN SIGNAL I SWEAR TO GOD #IF YOU CUT IN FRONT OF ME WITHOUT A TURN SIGNAL I WILL BE CURSING YOU AND YOUR ENTIRE BLOODLINE #AND REMEMBER TO TURN IT OFF #jesus christ the number of cars just driving with their turn signal on its so confusing and theres no way to inform them #also if you have bright LED (tiny bulb with less light dissipation) headlights you are an asshole and everyone hates you #and ones that are aimed incorrectly #technically they are illegal #they shouldnt be that intense #but people install them improperly either by themselves or from a third party that has no idea what theyre doing #and then go out and flashbang other people on the road which is incredibly fucking dangerous and it has led to many accidents #it isnt all LED headlights as a whole but the ones that are a problem are LED #the misalignment of headlights didnt used to be as much of a problem bc they were halogen and a warmer color which is easier on the eyes #the new ones are blue-white which is way more intense and even painful #so if they are misaligned and aimed more at oncoming drivers and less on the road where they should be #thats a major problem
