Card of the Day - Confidence Friday through Tuesday I had the chance to teach at and attend The Crucible club in DC and Crucible Weekend in Northern Maryland. The weekend had under 200 people, and though all attendees were vaccinated, an email went out saying someone had come back as having tested Covid+. They let everyone know so everyone could get tested - so we can all take care of each other. This led to a bit of paranoia and emotionality on my part. I have since done 2 rapid tests a day apart and have a standard test booked for Friday… it was interesting watching myself go into a whirl of emotions. “Confidence” however asks us to consider the notion of making choices with eyes wide open then stand with those choices. This is not to say one should stay so fixed as to not take in new information. I myself will be weighing out these choices and have already discussed choices we all make with my sweetie and my lover. No - the femme pictured shows the motion of moving forward sure-footed with head held high. They are not closing their eyes, as it were. Their shoulders are relaxed, pose cool and calm. How are you addressing the stresses in your life? Confidence is not blind arrogance or toxic ego. It is the ability to take in information without tail-spinning. It is knowledge and purpose manifest in the body. It is moving forward on a path aligned with your true journey rather than stumbling forward or curling up in either fear or apathy. Today asks us to assess and raise our chin. There might be fear in your body - roll those shoulders out and massage your jaw, then look at what might be uncomfortable. Take that deep breath, wiggle your fingers and toes, stretch your back, and try again. This is not your day to hide or rage. This is your day to shake it off and move forward with confidence.
