whats really unfortunate is im p sure my sister was the catalyst for why people in my town like to just gossip and make shit up about me without asking. like it started with her talking to my middle school bully about me behind my back, probably telling her all kinds of bullshit bc my sisters a compulsive liar, then that bully followed me to highschool for a brief moment before leaving, spreading all the bullshit that started at my old school to my new one before dipping. and then people started making shit up about me at highschool. i was so excited to finally get a fresh start in highschool only for that bitter cunt to come along and sour shit for no fucking reason bc idk she has a weird hate boner for me, who can say (maybe it was some bullshit my sister said 🙃 i wonder!). and since my high school was way bigger and she had a wider range of people, word just spread through the grapevine of whatever dumb shitppl were coming up with mixed with actual events that happened that painted me in an embarrassing light or whatever. and im like. kinda sure that the only reason my ex decided to turn on me so hard, shaming me in every capacity down to just who i am inherently was bc alllll of those stupid rumors came to them after we broke up. like. yall just wont let me escape this NOR EVEN GIVE ME THE FUCKING CHANCE TO SET THE RECORD STRAIGHT IN ANY CAPACITY. why in the FUCK are you SO FUCKING INVESTED IN TRYING TO FUCK UP MY LIFE?? WHAT IS YOUR FUCKING DAMAGE??? LEAVE ME THE FRESH FUCK ALONE!!! IF YOU’RE STILL TALKING ABOUT ME AFTER HIGHSCHOOL WITH PEOPLE WE WENT TO HIGHSCHOOL WITH YOU LITERALLY HAVENT MATURED FOR SHIT AND I FEEL BAD FOR YOU ABOUT THAT. LIKE HOLY FUCK. yall are dense self absorbed pieces of shits who think you’re so above whoever you decide to throw under the bus but you’re literally the same staple mediocre mean girl from every other fucking school anyone has ever fucking seen. if you’re not even going to give me a list of my sins. if none of you assholes are even going to approach me to ASK ME DIRECTLY IF WHAT SOMETHING SOMEONE SAID WAS TRUE. INSTEAD OF HANGING OUT WITH ME TO SECRETLY GET INFO AND HOPEFULLY GET INFO ABOUT THAT OUT OF ME. IF YOU’RE NOT EVEN GOING TO WELCOME ME INTO THE GOSSIP CIRCLE SO I CAN TELL ALL OF YOU **AT THE VERY LEAST** MY PERSPECTIVE, OH, LETS FORGET BELIEVING VICTIMS WHEN IT COMES TO ME, REMEMBER, IM PROBABLY LYING ABOUT EVERYTHING MY FAMILY OR ANYONE WHOS ABUSED ME HAS EVER DONE RIGHT LOL 🤪 KILL YOURSELF. You literally dont deserve anything you could ever benefit from being my friend. i hope all of you selfish drama-vampires, who apparently cant survive without gossiping like its fucking air, rot
#anyways yall remind me of a catholic cult#anyways idc what happens to anyone in my old town either#yall basically exiled me so now i just kinda dont give a single fuck or shit what happens to any of you c: !#hows it feel bitch?#dont think imma do anything for any of yall if you ever need me to. dont think ill be there. lord knows none of you were.#lord knows none of you cared#what. whats your justification for treating me this way?#tell me in detail. exactly. why?#because i grew up rich? well so did my sister and brother and yall had no issues with them#because i was blonde or something? because i was confident? because i didnt know how to socialize in an Un Weird Way?#because i liked playing pretend? because i liked drawing? because i watched tv shows and liked making ocs and drawing tv show characters#fucking or whatever?#is this really my greatest sins?#bc like before highschool? yall dont really have shit to hang on for why you treated me the way you did. like AT ALL.#granted bc of ptsd i cant remember much of my childhood anyways but i knew i didnt hate anyone ever#otherwise why would i keep letting my middle school bully in to interact with me and hoping we could mend things and become friends?#only for her each time to lie and go make fun of me with other people in the class?#and when it came to highschool. the worst thing about me was that i thought it was ok for me to say slurs it 100% wasnt ok for me to say#bc i was under the impression that 'the world was peaceful now and these thingsd didnt have impact and ppl could start saying whatever and#it wouldnt hurt people anymore and the world is healing and its just a word now and my brothers friends seem ok when he does it so?'#yeah ik ik i was optimistic. maybe my middle school couldve done a better job at emphasizing that *those were still issues people faced#and that the world isnt healed and perfect and that it doesnt always get better' bc one of my teachers 100% directed me to the-#it gets better website#regardless. that along with group roasting sessions essentially with my brother and his friends where we made fun of the way we all looked#kinda made me think saying some things were okay that weren't. not an excuse but i wasnt a fucking bigot and ill die on that hill :)!#and sure i got into new age conspiracy theories but *i* didn#'t know it was anti semitici in nature. ive mentioned before that any websited i read never mentioned jewish people EVER#i just liked the idea of aliens being real as it was an idea i never let myself explore before. i was more into demons initially sdhdhgs.#aliens and the new version of spirituality which essentially promised me everything as long as i believe strong enough lol#regardless- im pretty sure other ppl at the time didnt know it was bad either. or if they did. then they should take issue with my ex nick

TO BE PRESENT✩༶‧˚
GENRE + T/W: sfw, angst. hurt and comfort. WORD COUNT: 4.6k words. TAGS: satoru gojo x fem!oc. boyfriend!gojo. stsg break up.
SYNOPSIS: suguru geto is sentenced to death by the jujutsu society, and oc gojo girlfriend is left to pick up the broken pieces of satoru gojo's heart, but will she be enough? AUTHOR'S NOTE: lots of dialogue from the actual anime/manga. i tried to shorten the dialogue and add lots of emotion and descriptions. in the manga, gojo actually finds megumi and tsumiki after suguru leaves, but in this au, we found the kids first. the vibe is the song ‘no good’ by dvsn. REMINDER: if you want to imagine yourself in oc gojo girlfriend's character descriptions instead, please do!
suguru geto was the balance to satoru gojo. the yin to his yang. they were vital to each other, mutually complementing each other, needing each other to coexist. there was the calm and rational suguru, and there was the bold and rash satoru. their bond so strong that together, they were known as the strongest.
when you joined the school less than a year ago, it was always 'sashisu'. satoru gojo, shoko ieri, and suguru geto were the three musketeers. they were inseparable. they welcomed you into their little trio with loving arms (it took awhile for satoru, but we're here now).
when you first met suguru, you thought he was the nicest human being you had ever met. you questioned how such a gentle and caring man could be bestfriends with someone like the insolent satoru gojo.
suguru had been acting strange a couple weeks after the incident with toji fushiguro. he looked tired, worn out. almost dissatisfied with how things were going. he questioned himself as if he was going to be left behind in terms of strength and growth as a sorcerer. satoru’s powers were increasing by the day, and if satoru was getting stronger, so were the curses that they had to exorcise. this was draining for suguru, absorbing curses wasn't the most appetizing thing, and it was tiresome to him.
the day that yaga-sensei had brought satoru into his office for a chat was the day you and shoko eavesdropped from outside his office to find out more information about your absent friend. suguru geto had gone missing after his mission in a small village outside of tokyo. the jujutsu society had sent their team to investigate.
“what?” satoru gasped. he couldn’t believe what he was hearing.
“don’t make me repeat myself, satoru suguru fled after killing everyone in the village.” yaga-sensei buried his face in his hands. he started to massage his temple.
“i heard you, sensei.” satoru sighed in disbelief. there was no way suguru would do that, he knew his bestfriend. at least, he thought he did.
“his parents’ home is vacant as well. however, from the blood stains and residuals… it seems like he might have killed his family.”
yaga-sensei and satoru had no idea what to think. they were also at a loss for words.
**************************************
suguru’s vile act alone would deem him as a curse user and a death sentence was the punishment from the jujutsu society. he was now the enemy. satoru couldn’t believe it, he didn't want to. he slammed his dorm room door shut after he heard the news, leaving you and shoko alone to deal with the aftermath. you had never seen satoru like this since you joined jujutsu high. (a/n: it’s actually a death sentence that’s the punishment, oops!)
“shoko, i—” you were going to start word vomiting out of nervousness.
“(y/n), it’s okay. you don’t have to say anything.” the medical student put her hand on your shoulder. you pulled her in for a hug. you could hear her sigh. she was the bridge between satoru and suguru.
throughout the years of being their friend, shoko ieri was the middle ground, the center, the happy medium. whenever satoru and suguru fought, she was the mediator. whenever they experienced the best of times together, she got to bare witness and experience it with them too. you could say that shoko ieri was the glue to satoru gojo and suguru geto.
“i know where to find suguru. let’s go meet him.” shoko motioned quietly to you.
“should we let satoru know?” you questioned her. you worried about your boyfriend, would he be okay being left alone? should you go to his side to comfort him instead?
“no, let him brood for a bit. he might bite you if you try to open his door.” she teased.
shinjuku, japan
“how did you know he would be here in shinjuku?” you asked shoko, you both watched as suguru walked towards you both. she just smiled before calling out to him.
“need a light?” she asked the banished sorcerer, holding up her lighter.
“hey you two,” he greeted the both of you as if he didn’t commit mass murder two days ago.
“well, well, well, if it isn’t the culprit himself. are all the accusations about you true?” she interrogated him nonchalantly while lighting a cigarette for him.
“i’m afraid they are. shoko, (y/n), i'm going to create a world of only jujutsu sorcerers. and i don’t need everyone to understand that.”
“sulking because no one understands you… sounds childish if you ask me.” shoko took out her phone and dialed a number, “hey, gojo? geto’s here. yeah, me and (y/n) are in shinjuku.” she hung up the phone and turned to you.
“come on, (y/n), we don’t want to get caught in this crossfire.” she took your hand and started to lead you away from suguru.
“hold on,” you let go of her hand and turned to walk back to suguru.
his face full of surprise, “(y/n), what’s on your mind? i’m surprised you’re not with satoru right now.”
he scratched the back of his head with a smile. he knew that satoru relied on you for comfort and solace. you and satoru we’re always with each other. if satoru wasn’t with suguru, he was most likely with you.
“uhm, i—” you stumbled over your words, “i wanted to thank you, uh, for being so nice to me when i joined jujutsu high. you always had my back during our missions together, and you made sure i was okay... you even defended me when satoru was being a jerk to me when i first started at the school. thank you for being his bestfriend. i’m sorry things turned out this way, suguru.” you reached towards him to hug him. this would most likely be the last time you would see him.
suguru hugged you back. you two were still friends after all. you felt a strong, but familiar cursed energy, it gave you the chills. you let go of suguru and patted his chest, giving him a soft smile. you turned to walk away as you saw the face of your distraught boyfriend looking at you.
you looked into his eyes, he wasn’t wearing his typical circular black sunglasses. his eyes were solemn and dull, the opposite from his standard blazing bright blue. his white hair wisped just below his lashes. he didn’t say a word to you, even though you could feel his all emotions wanting to explode from him. you reached for satoru’s hand and gave him a soft, encouraging squeeze. he swallowed as you patted his shoulder and you walked away with shoko. you knew that this was between satoru and suguru, and no one else.
**************************************
“suguru. explain yourself.” satoru called out to his bestfriend.
“you already heard, didn’t you? that’s all there is to it.” suguru said in a very cordial manner.
“that’s all you needed to convince yourself to kill non-sorcerers and your parents?!” satoru couldn’t believe what he was hearing, couldn't fathom what was coming out of suguru’s mouth.
“it wouldn’t be fair if i made an exception for my parents. besides, my family now consists of more than just them.” suguru had thought about the twin girls he had saved from the village. they were the ones he wanted to protect now.
“that’s not what i’m talking about. you were the one who said pointless killing is useless.” satoru was losing his cool. what had happen to his reasonable bestfriend?
“killing all non-sorcerers to make a world of only sorcerers is impossible.” satoru argued.
“you could do it, satoru. you’re trying to convince me that it’s impossible when you yourself could do it if you wanted to.” suguru believed that his goal of making a world of only jujutsu sorcerers was something he could make happen, which is why he was willing to give up everything to do it.
satoru’s eyes widened. what in the world was suguru talking about?
“are you the strongest because you’re satoru gojo? or are you satoru gojo because you’re the strongest?”
“what the hell are you trying to say?!” satoru shouted in frustration. he still wasn't understanding.
“if i could be you, wouldn’t my impossible ideals become possible? this is the life i’ve chosen, all i can do now is give it all i’ve got. if you want to kill me, kill me. there would be meaning in that too.” suguru turned away to start his journey, without satoru by his side.
and that’s where satoru gojo had to make the decision between killing his bestfriend or letting the curse user walk freely. satoru held out his right hand, slowly connecting his thumb and his middle finger. he’d never successfully used this cursed technique before, it was one of the strongest moves in the gojo clan that only a few clan members knew about. hollow purple.
he couldn’t bring himself to do it. he curled his fist and retreated his hand in defeat as he watched as suguru walked away from him in pursuit of his own goals in life. even if that meant that they wouldn’t be present in each other’s anymore.
tokyo jujutsu high
again, you and shoko stood behind the school's front entrance where satoru and yaga-sensei were talking, listening in on their conversation after satoru had returned from shinjuku.
“why did you let him go?” yaga-sensei asked as satoru grumbled on the cold concrete steps of tokyo jujutsu high school.
“are you really asking me that?” satoru couldn’t tell him that he didn't have the guts to kill his bestfriend.
“no, you’re right. i’m sorry.” he apologized. he knew it would be hard for satoru to cope. suguru was his bestfriend after all, his one and only.
“sensei... i’m strong, right?” he asked his teacher.
“yes, you are. in the impudence department too.” yaga-sensei bantered with him.
“it seems like just me being strong isn’t enough. i can only save those who want to be saved.” satoru said while looking out into the distance. he was tired of being the one who had to do all the saving. he wished he could ask for help. he didn't want to be alone anymore.
later that night
you made sure that megumi and tsumiki were sleeping soundly before you left your dorm room to return to satoru's. it had been three months since satoru brought them home to you, and two weeks since suguru had left the school.
things between you and satoru had felt strained due to the lack of communication. however, he never failed to show you affection in a hug or a kiss, or even just by holding hands. you felt the tension climbing, distance between you both growing. even though you slept next to him in his bed every night, it still felt cold. the warmth from the love you two shared had started to die down.
you understood that suguru meant the world to satoru. he was important to him, he loved him. one of your very first conversations as a couple was about the people he cared about in his life, he mentioned shoko and suguru's name. that was also the night he told you that you were one of them too. someone that he cared about.
"can't sleep?" satoru softly asked. your tossing and turning must have kept him awake.
"i'm worried about you." you knew he was going to deflect in 3... 2... 1—
"well, you don't have to worry about me, babe. i'm fine." satoru downplayed his emotions and you hated it.
"you are not fine, satoru." you argued as you stared at the popcorn ceiling above you.
you could feel his eyes studying you, he shifted his body to face you. "whoa, what's with the government name and attitude?" he joked.
"now's not the time for jokes. i'm being serious. we need to talk." you sat up in his bed abruptly.
he could hear in your tone that something was upsetting you. "what's wrong, (y/n)?"
"everything…” you whispered quietly.
tears started to form in your eyes. satoru sat up in his bed, the tone of your voice alarmed him. his heart started to race as he felt an uncertain feeling in his chest. was this fear he was feeling?
"you aren't okay and you won't admit it. it's distracting you from being present. you missed tsumiki's dance recital at school, you forgot to pick up the kids two days ago, and you aren't all there when we spar at jujutsu practice. i've never been able to land any of my cursed techniques on you before, and you got hurt because of that."
satoru had been so absentminded and distracted that you caught him off guard with his infinity off, your ice shard grazed his arm during the spar. you had to heal him with your reversed cursed energy that day.
"and what hurts the most is that i can feel you shutting me out every time i try to talk to you. i'm supposed to be your partner in life, satoru. i don't want you to push me away. if you’re not okay, i’m not okay.” you expressed as tears streamed down your face.
satoru didn't have any words to say, no excuses to come up with. he acknowledged that you tried to talk to him multiple times since suguru had left, but he didn't want to add more to your plate. you were taking care of the kids, taking on missions alone, all while trying to keep up with your studies to make sure you made it to graduation. he didn't want to burden you any more with his ridiculous bestfriend drama.
"i'm not allowed to be sad or weak. i have to be strong, (y/n). i don't have time to be caught up in my emotions." satoru said. you swear you heard his voice waver even though he was trying to 'be strong'.
"just because people call you the strongest, you think you can’t be sad or weak? satoru, that doesn't mean you can't confide in me. i promised you that i would be there for you. for whatever you need." you wiped your tears.
"satoru..."
"yeah, baby?"
"do you love me?"
"of course i do. i love you so much." satoru replied quietly.
"then can you just tell me what you're feeling right now?" you asked through your quivering voice.
and for the first time in 18 years, satoru gojo did not have any words to say. not a joke. no innappropriate comment. not a speck of sarcasm. nothing. he couldn't tell you how he felt, as much as he wanted to scream and shout and tell you how he was hurting and that he didn't want to be alone. the little voice in the back of his head told him not to, that he didn't deserve to.
you have had enough tonight. you got up from your side of the bed and put on your jujutsu high robe, "i think i should go check up on the kids." tears still streaming down your cheek as you quickly brushed them away. satoru couldn't even watch you leave his room. he knew that once you left his room tonight, you wouldn’t be coming back to it. the door shut behind you and he felt his heart breaking more.
**************************************
you opened the door to your room quietly, trying not wake up the kids, but megumi was a light sleeper. he woke up instantly and looked at you. tsumiki was a heavy sleeper and nothing could wake her up. you sniffled and collected yourself. you didn’t want him to know you were crying.
“(y/n), did you and gojo-sensei fight?” megumi rubbed his eyes with the back of his hand to wake himself up. he shifted his body over to make room for you on your king sized bed.
"that obvious, huh?" you scoffed.
you thanked god that megumi and tsumiki were still tiny and that three people could fit on your bed or you'd be sleeping with shoko right now. you laid down next to megumi and got under the covers. he was the most observant 5 year old ever. megumi was intelligent, calculated, and strong. gojo had a blast training with him. you both knew he was going to be an amazing sorcerer when he grows up.
“there are just some things that we aren’t agreeing on right now, megumi.” you patted his head, his blue hair slipping through your fingers.
“i think he just needs some time alone to think. he's been busy.” the child spoke on behalf of satoru.
“busy enough that he forgot to pick you guys up from school?” you were so angry with him for that. it was his job to pick them up that day because you were on a mission.
“it’s okay, we just called nanami to pick us up.” megumi tried defending him with his own little peculiar statement. you never thought you’d see the day megumi would be defending satoru.
“it’s not okay, megumi. i want him to be there for you and tsumiki. like we promised. i want him to be present.”
the next morning
the next morning was awkward and the air was still filled with tension. satoru always accompanied you to get the kids ready for school. he knocked on your dorm door to find you doing tsumiki’s hair while megumi was sitting patiently, waiting for you two to finish.
“oh… you guys got started already.” he said, trying to hide the hurt. he felt a little betrayed as this was supposed to be your morning routine together.
“here, you finish putting the clips in her hair.” you gave him the jar full of different colored butterfly clips and got up to retreat to your bathroom so you could finish getting ready.
satoru sighed and looked at tsumiki and megumi. they were awfully quiet this morning, their usual selves would be chirping back and forth at each other. laughter was always present in your morning routine, but not today.
“she’s still mad at me, huh?” satoru asked the children.
tsumiki smiled awkwardly at him and nodded while megumi snapped at him, “just tell her how you feel, idiot.”
“whoa, what’s with the attitude, megumi?” satoru asked, he was surprised with the 5 year old’s tone.
“i just don’t like seeing (y/n) cry.” satoru knew that you were megumi's favorite guardian, in fact, everyone knew.
“yeah? me either, kiddo.” satoru frowned. he attached two pink butterfly clips in tsumiki’s hair. he heard you shuffling through your bathroom drawers, afraid to turn around to face you once you exited the bathroom.
he took a deep breath and looked over at you. he could see through your makeup that your eyes were still swollen from crying last night, skin glowing from the flushed cheeks. god, how could you still look so beautiful after crying?
“ready for breakfast?” you asked your unconventional family. tsumiki smiled and nodded, trying her best to brighten up the room. megumi grabbed your hand to hold (and comfort) as he led the way to the dining hall. satoru felt envious that it wasn’t him holding your hand instead. but what could he do?
later that afternoon
after you dropped the kids off at school, you and satoru walked back through the jujutsu high courtyard. the cobblestone walkway felt cold and the surrounding trees felt like they were about to swallow the both of you into a dark abyss. the only thing you could hear was the wind and your soft footsteps.
you and satoru didn’t hold hands. you didn’t even link your arm through his like you usually did. and he sure felt the bitterness from you today. you walked side by side together. the silence was deafening until you broke it.
“satoru… i’m going to take megumi and tsumiki back with me to my clan’s estate for the semester break… and i don’t think i want you to come with us. i’ll tell touya you’re going to see your family instead.” you held back your tears. satoru stopped in his tracks, you were two steps ahead of him.
“but baby, i—” he began to say.
you turned around to face him, “ever since suguru left, you’ve changed. you’ve been distant, you avoid every conversation i try to have with you. and you’re the type of person who always tries to talk things out right away… even though you know i'm usually the one that needs time. so now, i’m giving you the time you need so you can decide what you want to do with your life and where your priorities lie…”
“that’s not fair, (y/n).” satoru snapped at you. how could you take the kids and leave him alone?
“what’s not fair to you?!” you lashed back at him. you saw the defeated and distraught look in his face and it crushed you. it was the same expression he had when he spoke with suguru in shinjuku.
“just—don’t. don’t start crying again.” he mumbled. it was always game over for him when you started crying. seeing you cry was one of the worst feelings next to his favorite kikufuku stand running out of his favorite flavor. it was too late, the tears started to flow again.
satoru took a step closer towards you, testing out the waters on if you would let him approach you or if you would push him away. once he didn’t sense any resistance from you, he pulled you into his arms, hugging you so tightly you couldn’t breathe. he didn't want to let go. everyone knew that you couldn’t be without each other, so why was he feeling like you were leaving him behind, just like suguru did?
when he finally loosened his arms around you, you gently caressed his cheek with your left hand. satoru had finally felt your warmth again. he melted into your hand and closed his eyes. you could see a layer of tears forming on his white lashes.
you kissed his cheek and softly said, “take the time you need to figure things out during the semester break. me and the kids will be here when you get back. i promise.”
two weeks later
satoru had spent two weeks with his own clan during the semester break. it was refreshing for him to speak with his clan elders to get a little insight on what he could work on next, he spent time perfecting his techniques, and just finally relaxed for once. during this time to himself, he was able to combine blue and red to perform a successful hollow purple. he even mastered his long distance teleportation. there was one person who he couldn't wait to tell about his success, it was you.
although he was busy training and enjoying the time with his own clan, he spent a lot of time thinking about suguru's betrayal and how to be present for the kids like you had asked him to. but there was one thing person that wouldn’t leave his mind, it was you.
after a couple days of brooding, satoru came to the conclusion that he would never get over suguru's actions, but he knew that he wanted to be better than suguru. he was going to become a teacher at jujutsu high as soon as his third year was over, and he was going to raise strong and intelligent allies. with no hesitation, he knew who his first ally would be, it was you.
satoru still felt like he was missing something someone in his life, even though he was surrounded by his clan. you, megumi, and tsumiki were 6 hours away in osaka with your clan, but satoru still felt like his heart was 247 miles away (the distance between osaka and tokyo). he knew what his heart was missing, it was you.
satoru gojo didn’t care for many things in life. he kept his circle small, his family was very prominent but low key, and he was pretty private about his own life. he didn’t care about protecting anyone until he met you, (y/n) from the osaka (l/n) clan. the most beautiful water and ice cursed technique user he had ever laid his pretty blue eyes on. satoru was never shy at telling you he loved you, but today was the day he realized just how much he did. satoru called out to his grandparents before he teleported to your clan's estate, "gramps, grams, i'm heading out to (y/n)'s. we'll see you at the next semester break. and we'll bring tsumiki and megumi to meet everyone too!"
satoru gojo knew who he wanted to see, and it was you.
osaka, japan
"(y/n)!" tsumiki cried out for you frantically.
you rushed out of your family's minka to see what the 6 year old was shrieking about. your heart skipped a beat to see a white-haired, blue-eyed sorcerer holding her in his arms as she was hugging him tightly. tsumiki had the biggest smile on her face. she had missed her partner in crime these past two weeks... you and her both.
"(y/n), it's gojo-sensei! he came to see us!" she waved towards you, signaling that satoru was there and for you to come over quickly. satoru was actually here. he was present.
your brother looked at you and smiled, "it looks like someone missed you, sis." he patted your shoulder before standing up from the steps of the minka, "i'll have the housekeepers get a spare room ready for him."
you smiled at your brother as he left your side. you stood on the steps of your family estate. your hand perched on your hip, a laugh breaking through to show your pearly whites, hiding your eyes with your cheeky smile. it had been awhile since satoru saw the smile that he loved so much.
you gave up your solid front and started walking towards satoru. he put tsumiki down and did the same. soft footsteps started to turn into a brisk walk, the brisk walk started to turn into a sprint, the sprint towards each other turned into a colliding embrace.
"what are you doing here, satoru?" you mumbled in his chest as you tried to catch your breath from your sprinting.
"i missed you, (y/n)." satoru said with his eyes closed, inhaling your scent. he missed your nectarine and honey blossom perfume that always lingered around him too.
"i missed you too."
satoru leaned down to kiss your forehead. you smiled softly as his lips trailed down to your temple and then to your cheek. you held his face with your hands and pulled him in for a kiss on his soft pink lips. he broke your kiss to look down at you. he had something he wanted to say.
"babe, the past two weeks i took a lot of time for myself to think. the one common denominator that always came to my mind was you. i'm sorry for the way i acted. i'm going to try my best to communicate with you from now on. i won't leave you in the dark anymore." satoru pledged with his heart.
"thank you, satoru." you whispered. you held him a bit tighter.
"you pinky promise?" megumi asked out of the nowhere. you and satoru looked down at the blue haired child with tsumiki by his side. you both started laughing as your intimate moment was interrupted by your adopted children. (read ‘pinky promises’ here)
satoru flashed his signature grin at megumi, "yeah, i pinky promise, kiddo."
megumi and tsumiki approached you both to join in on the family group hug. you and satoru crouched down to embrace them as you kissed the top of their heads.
satoru softly said to the kids, "from now on, i promise to be present."

꒰ 🕰️ ꒱ SEND YOU MY HEART — BYUN EUIJOO
⋆ It’s different when it comes to crushing on Euijoo, your bestfriend’s younger brother. He hasn’t done a single thing to you and you highly doubt he knows you other than being his sister’s friend, yet you always find yourself running away from him.
STARRING ≻ bsf’s younger brother! ej x gn! reader [guest stars yeojin of loossemble & f! oc (eunha)] GENRE ≻ fluff, comedy, implied mutual pining, bestfriend’s brother au, highschool au CONTAINS ≻ accidental invasion of privacy WORD COUNT ≻ 1090
SONA SPEAKING ≻ no i did NOT choose ej just bc he reminds me of my crush!!
What’s worse than having a normal crush is having a crush on your best friend's brother, Euijoo. He’s not any typical brother; he’s the younger brother who doesn’t talk to anyone besides his friends and family. The younger brother, who only has one face for every emotion. He’s the younger brother who’s the eldest among his friends.
It’s even worse when he goes to your school. Fate loves to be a hater and decided that you two should see each other everywhere, whether he’s behind you in line at the cafeteria or walking the same hall after your drama class and his gym class. Wherever you are, Euijoo is there. Some people would think it’s a blessing to be around their crush all the time, and it is. It’s also a curse, as instead of greeting him, you find yourself running as far away as possible from him.
The idea of your best friend finding out isn’t the reason you're running away. In fact, you even told her you liked him, and she didn’t seem to care at all. All she did was laugh. She finds it hilarious how he’s gullible and you’re here trying to keep yourself from running away when he’s around, especially when you’re at her house. From sitting next to you on the couch for a movie night to grabbing a cup from the cabinet in the kitchen where you’re eating, you’d expect her to glare at you, but she only tries to hold her laughter in.
You don’t know why you can’t function when he’s around every time. Is it because he smells like pencil shaving all the time, his glasses suit his face shape, or he wears that umber leather jacket over his uniform every day? It’s weird since you complain all the time that you miss him, but when you do see him, you’re suddenly meters away from his presence. You hate the idea of talking to him, but at the same time, you love talking about him with your friends. When your friends insult him, like his haircut or the fact that he’s part of the chess club, your mouth starts talking back as if you were a lawyer defending their client.
The one question that makes everyone you know intrigued is: How come you’ve never had at least one interaction with him?
‘I saw Euijoo in the hallway first thing in the morning’. You write on the sticky note, passing it to your friend in the middle of your drama class. Your teacher has been too busy blabbering about her life in acting school for the past hour. You look up at the clock; it’s five before the bell rings. Some of your classmates are doing work, and others are on their phones. No one seems to be listening to her at all; they’re all waiting for the bell.
Yeojin passes a sticky note to you. ‘What did you do?’. She stared at you as you retold her what happened with your fingers. You tried to tell her that you walked past him, but she didn’t understand your gestures. “What?” she mouths. You lean close enough so she can hear your whispers.
“I walked past him,” you whisper lowly so the teacher wouldn’t notice but loud enough for Yeojin to hear. She covers her mouth, restraining herself from bursting into laughter. As the bell rings, your teacher mentions a project due in a few days while you get ready to leave.
The performing arts department is in a long, separate hallway away from regular classes. In that hallway is also the gym, where Euijoo finishes his class. The hallway is tiring for you and Yeojin, but all you want to do is get to your next class without having to see Euijoo. Yeojin leaves you for her class, which is the one near the exit of the hall. You’re here, walking alone to the end of the hall. Sometimes it takes you two minutes to get to your class or more, depending on the number of people. As you go through multiple people squished like sardines in a can and make your way to the end of the hall, you halt, hearing your name and an unfamiliar voice.
“Oh, Y/N, you dropped this,” Euijoo says as you look behind. He picks up a notebook from the floor and hands it to you. You’re frozen and silent, and he simply smiles at you and leaves. You run to your next class and sit down in your seat as you contemplate. Many things are happening at once—things that you found impossible.
He says your name and gives you your journal, the one place where you talk about him, then proceeds to smile at you. It sounds impossible, but it did indeed happen. But what’s really important is that he spoke to you.
You haven’t seen Euijoo since that interaction. You don’t see him in the hallways at school or in the living room at their house. Whenever Eunha calls him down for dinner, he’ll just stay silent or respond that he’s busy. When he did come out of his room, it was only to return your journal. Your best friend accidentally gave him your journal when he asked her to get his notebook.
It was a simple mistake; he didn’t mean to look inside. The outside looked like his, but the inside was totally different. When he opened a random page, he noticed how his notes were colourful, his handwriting was curvier than it should be, and the words were the total opposite of physics. He put his glasses on and immediately closed the book as he read the first sentence.
‘I miss Euijoo’. He quickly pushes the book off his table and backs away from it. He’s shocked in many ways. Those words are playing in his head on repeat. All he can imagine is your voice saying those words. He wants to know what else you say about him, but it’s wrong; it’s your privacy. He approaches the book but is wary of picking it up. His hands are trembling the more he moves closer, until the pads of his fingers touch the leather cover.
He leaves his room with the journal in his hand. His eyes meet with yours as he enters the living room, places your journal down on the coffee table, and grabs his. You quickly grabbed your journal and sat on it as he asked you a question before he walked out.
“Are you busy this Friday?”

Hello! I wanted to ask you somethingsss... you can answer whatever is here, o
How are your old hsr characters? Do you still use them? How are you so funny and relatable? Do you like HSR because it's an rpg or because it's a honkai game?
And most importantly...
How was your day?
(:
hello there!
my oldest limited 5 star, jing yuan, is benched until i get a better pc (maybe one day) because his skill comes with a % chance of crashing the pc i have right now. i still play luocha, but haven't used blade in quite a while, i think the last time i used him was for beating gold & gears. i've tried playing him in moc in the last few months, but unfortunately he just doesn't do enough damage... i've actually started playing himeko quite a lot though (had her since jing yuan's first banner, but only built her a lot later). natasha lasted quite a while on my teams, i played her in moc12 up until aventurine's banner hahah
glad you like my humour! i got funnier (subjective) by making very unfunny jokes for a long time... the middle school me was a menace
i've never been into an rpg game the way i'm into hsr... i don't think i've ever managed to finish any single player rpg game in the past, i used to pretty much only play games with pvp (not fps games though, i liked being able to see my character look pretty + i'm absolutely terrible at shooters to the point it's unfun).
the reason i gave hsr a try was because jing yuan reminded me of an oc, and stuck around because i loved the character personalities and the combat animations looked super cool (i remember screaming 'HE HAS A BLACK HOLE HOW COOL IS THAT' about welt to a friend lmao). i actually ended up playing hi3 later on because i loved hsr
heat waves been fakin' me out and there's a mosquito in my room, but other than that, it's been fine. hope your day's been good!

so i finished hazbin hotel…
anti hazbin hotel rant under the cut so if y’all start harassing me i can say i warned you dipshits
honestly, it wasn’t good. i like the songs. the songs are cool oh. but the writing was dog shit. it’s like those edgy teenagers from 2018 wrote it. like does every other word have to be fuck? i’m not a prude. trust me. but the shock value of the word significantly decreases whenever viv decides that the script should literally be ‘fuck fuck fuck fuck *insert sex joke* fuck fuck fuck fuck *insert another sex joke* like honestly the writing could’ve been done by middle school boys. that’s the kind of humor it reminded me of. this show personified is literally just that one kid who goes around calling everyone else gay and moaning and making the most heinous sex jokes known to man. it’s not funny. it’s repetitive and annoying.
also the ships. chaggie should’ve had more depth and i wish that vaggie was more than a play on vagina and angry all the time. and before y’all start with the ‘b-BuT sHeZ a FaLlEn AngEl!!!1!!!!’ billshit, that’s not a character trait, that’s a backstory. also angel dust. surprisingly he was pretty realistic in some aspects. like using sex and drugs as a coping mechanism. but the fact that they (allegedly) had someone who had an abuse fetish write the poison scene is sickening. and treating abuse and r^pe as something like a joke for only certain characters but not others is gross. like who is loona and angel dust’s abuse treated seriously but like…blitzo and sir pentious are treated like a joke? but the sex jokes again, are middle school boy humor. the ‘bring it on….daddy~’ line made me need to take an actual break. like god. and trust me. i’m not the kind of person to rip on this. i’m bisexual myself and have had girlfriends in the past. but she pays more attention to the lgbtq characters and it feels like forced representation. like millie/moxxie’s relationship vs. the attention to huskerdust is astounding.
also don’t get me started on the fan base. or vivziepop herself. like holy shit she is the definition of scummy. y’all forget she had a nazi esque sausage party oc too like here’s proof https://rootbeergoddess.tumblr.com/post/627258297172557824/just-to-show-you-how-inclusive-vivziepop-truly-is
also her response to any and all criticism is just kinda…i don’t know the word for it. scummy? like blocking a fucking fifteen year old for saying her show was bad is just so immature. and god forbid you say anything slightly negative about any of the characters you’ll have a bunch of edgy fifteen year olds come after you.
overall the show kinda sucked. vivziepop sucks. the things she does and has done are gross. she’s awful to her animators and pays the, the least she possibly can and she ignores the fact that someone in her fanbase committed suicide because of how much they ere being bullied. the writing of the show sucked. like i’m positive if you grouped 5 middle school boys together they would come up with the exact same script that will be in the next season. it’s not a good show and vivziepop is a bad person. that’s my overall opinion.
#i watched the first 4 episodes and then i rewatched the whole show and holy shit#anti vivziepop#anti hazbin hotel#hazbin hotel critical#hazbin hotel criticism#tw abuse mention#tw rap3

Omg hi! I’m JJ and this is like my first time on tumblr and I love it so much already. I absolutely love gravity falls and was wondering if someone would help me draw my oc! (I am terrible at art) her name is Magnolia Elizabeth Elsher-Pines ! Let me tell you a bit about her :)) (I’ll add inspo photos)
Magnolia is in her 60s, 5’6”, female, with emerald green eyes, freckles, beautiful long wavy light brown hair with curtain bangs, on the curvier side, a tiny scar on her left eyebrow, and wears cutesy glasses so she can see. She graduated from Stanford University with her Doctorate in Neurosurgery and her masters in psychology. (What I hope to do with my life in the future.🤞🏻)
About her:
She’s a very smart, shy, caring, loving, understanding, and gentle person but when it comes to her family she is very protective. She made a name for herself in the neurosurgery community and is one of the best neurosurgeons in the country. She adores all fabric, string, and painting crafts. She listens to smooth jazz that reminds her of ford. She’s also very active. She runs every morning on the beach to keep her body healthy.
Backstory:
Growing up she was very shy. She didn’t have many friends and was picked on because all she cared about was psychology. She met Stanley and Stanford pines when they were in elementary school together when they were 7 or 8. In middle school she developed a crush on Stanford because of his wits, his personality, and his crazy good looks. In high school around 10th grade she told Ford and they started dating and have been since. They had 3 kids together at the ages of 26 and 29. 2 twin boys Maxwell Filbrick Pines (oldest by 5 min), Samuel Lee Pines (2nd oldest), and their daughter Maddison Evangeline Pines (youngest by 3 years). Magnolia was pregnant with Maddison when Ford got stuck in the portal. She moved the kids back to her and Ford’s home town, Glass Shard Beach, New Jersey. She raised them knowing their father. She’d tell them nonstop that he loves them dearly. For 30 years she waited for Stanford to come back. Never even glanced at another man never spoke to another man she was absolutely smitten for Ford. When she heard the news that Stanford was back, she rushed back to gravity falls desperate to hold him again. They’ve been in deep love since and Ford did in fact cry when her and the kids came back to him.
I’d absolutely love if someone could help me with this OC! I’m on my hands and knees begging.
*edit* : I didn’t make this clear when I made this post. I will most definitely pay for people’s art. I’m obsessed with art and would never ever make an artist spend time on me without paying them a reasonable amount for their time.
Here’s some pics I pulled from Pinterest that fit her vibe:

Haunted (1/?)
A/N#1: This is a Mattheo Riddle x OC fanfic, I did this just because I struggle with writing "Y/N" over and over again. I feel like an actual name for the reader helps you connect better, and I already struggle with being a personable writer. Please forgive me. The OC is named Veralynn Post, she goes by Vera. Idk her middle name yet so don't ask. She has long curly blonde hair, it reaches to her mid to lower back, it's also very poofy (think Hermione Granger). She has amber eyes, almost like whiskey and honey. She's 5'2 and a Hufflepuff. And she's from the US of A 🗽. It probably doesn't make sense why she's in a wizarding school in England but bare with me. Also I'll probably have smut in this at some point but that won't be until they're well into their 7th year.
Warnings: Angst, Fluff, Mattheo 🥵, my terrible writing, eventual smut but not until much later in the series
Pairing: Mattheo Riddle x Fem!OC
Summary: Vera's best friend finds herself in a whirlwind romance with none other than Theodore Nott. Vera reflects on her own love, how ever unrequited it is, and wonders when she'll finally confess to the man that holds her heart in his hands. 6.0k+ words
A/N#2: Dear Reader, Hello! This is the start of my very first attempt at a series LOL. I've written for my own enjoyment for years, but never on a blog or anything even similar to Tumblr. Last night at 2 AM I was hit with inspiration after hearing a series of songs play one after the other that reminded me so much of our baby boy Matty <3. So I have a timeline worked out and a list of songs I want to incorporate, one song per chapter, but that list is constantly changing because I'm trying to find the best ones possible to make this work. Also I'm starting them off in 6th year because yes, while they are minors, I need the time afforded to me by starting them off that young. No smut, NO SMUT, will happen before they're both well established 18 year olds in year 7. Please let me know how I can improve with my writing, it means a lot. It is my absolute pleasure to present you with the very first chapter in my Haunted series, When Emma Falls in Love. ---Sincerely, Me
When Emma Falls in Love
When Emma falls in love, she paces the floor Closes the blinds and locks the door When Emma falls in love, she calls up her mom Jokes about the ways that this one could go wrong She waits and takes her time 'Cause Little Miss Sunshine always thinks it's gonna rain When Emma falls in love, I know That boy will never be the same
Emma Hemlock is my best friend. I met her at Platform 9¾ on our first day at Hogwarts, and ever since then, we've been joined at the hip. With her dazzling blue eyes and her straight brown hair, her tan complexion, and her warm smile, she drew the boys' attention immediately. They would scramble to write her love letters, asking her on dates and whether or not she'd give them a chance. And she never said yes. Until, now.
Theodore Nott had been asking her out since 3rd year, always being met with a resounding "NO." He even asked me for advice!-- "C'mon Veralynn! What's her favorite flowers? Does she like butter beer? When does she-" "PISS OFF THEO"-- (spoiler alert: we didn't get along). But it seems he finally 'wore her down.'
That's such a terrible expression. At least, that's what Emma says. She explained that 'no, he didn't wear me down, I just finally had the courage to say yes.' Or something like that. In all honesty, her hesitation to say yes in the first place made sense. Theo had gained the reputation of a ladies' man, him and the rest of his crew. Draco Malfoy, Lorenzo Montague, Blaise Zabini, Pansy Parkinson, and Mattheo Riddle.
Mattheo.
A man who could simultaneously get my heart racing out of fear and attraction. Fear of him, fear of the attraction, attraction because of the fear, however, you want to put it I don't care. But we'll get back to him later. Right now, it's all about Emma and her love life.
Emma finally said yes to Theo's persistent nagging, making him quite literally the happiest man in all of Hogwarts. No seriously, he ran into the Great Hall shouting "SHE SAID YES! WE'RE GETTING MARRI- OW, DAMN IT VERA!" (I may have thrown a dinner plate at his head).
So here I am. Waiting, sitting on the couch in our dorm, my arms wrapped around a pillow as I sat on my legs, watching the door in anticipation. They started dating in the summer. Emma's family had decided to spend their two months break on vacation in Italy. They ran into the Nott's while they were there. I have a theory that Theo caught wind of where the Hemlock family would be that June, and he begged his parents to let him go spend the summer in their family villa.
All that being said, they had had a whirlwind romance that didn't end when the warmer months came to a close. It's only the second week of our 6th year and they've gone on a total of four dates. It's almost hilarious how utterly whipped Theo is for her. That boy will never be the same.
Creeeeak. The door was pushed open—interrupting my thoughts—and Emma slipped into the room. She locked the door behind herself, her face looking... oh that's weird. She paced across the floor, closing the blinds, effectively putting an end to the bright sun I was basking in. I had expected her to come in, huffing and annoyed with the latest story on Theo's escapades. But this time, no, this time was different. Her eyes held a different story. "Vera..." Her grip on the window loosened as she turned towards me. Her lip trembling, and her eyes squinting. Suddenly her face split into the widest grin she's ever given me. "Vera-" "I know." We smiled at each other, one sincere and one feigned.
"I need- I need to send an owl to my parents. I need to ask my mom- oh shit this has never happened to me before. Vera, what do I do? What is this?" She started rambling, all the while her smile remained and she ran over to her desk. She pulled out her stationary and began her letter to her mother. "Ughhh I shouldn't even be writing to her about this, it's going to end in disaster anyway!"
What made me chuckle was the way she said it. The words were foreboding, but her smile never slipped. She didn't really expect this to end in a 'disaster.' "Write your letter, Em. Tell your Momma you're falling in love." I encourage softly from where I remain seated, nuzzling my face further into the pillow between my arms. Emma nods at me, eyes crinkling yet again as she leans back over her letter.
Okay, sure, maybe I don't sound as excited as I should for my closest friend. That's not the case, I am excited for her! But now's the time when we finally get to talk about Mattheo.
Chocolate eyes, curls the color of rich dark dirt, dimples when he smiles, and the scent of cigarettes and rain that clings to him no matter where he's been. To be frank, the man is liquid fire. And everyone else in Hogwarts noticed that too. And he took advantage of that fact. He had a new girl on his arm almost every day, never coming up empty in the 'love department.' But it was never love. Everyone understood he was never and would never be interested in anything serious. The problem with this?
Well that requires a bit of explanation.
I met him the same day I met Emma. Before her, even. I had gotten lost in the muggle train station trying to find the right platform, getting bumped into by grown strangers who didn't seem to notice the lost little girl tripping under their feet. I was born and raised in America until being invited to Hogwarts, and unfortunately, my parents couldn't afford to come with me to this wild train station. So I was all alone, trying desperately to find my way to Platform 9¾.
~flashback to that day~
I huff, dragging my luggage behind me as I try my best to push through the crowd. I couldn't see many children, which gave me my first clue that I wasn't in the right place. It was mostly muggle adults going to and fro, not glancing down to notice the small poofy-haired kid all alone. My thoughts were interrupted as someone slammed into me, "OW" I cried as the luggage slipped from my fingers. It hit the pavement floor below my feet, buckles popping open as the contents spill out. I shake my head in disbelief, looking up to see who knocked into me. All I saw was the back of a grown man walking away from me, seemingly the culprit, and also seemingly ignoring the fact that he just ruined an 11-year-old's day. "Hey wanker, watch where you're going!" I jump, startled at the grumbling voice ringing in my ear.
That wasn't my voice. No, that was behind me. Turning around, I gaze upon—for the very first time—the boy who would turn my whole world upside down. He was wearing jeans, and an almost too-big-for-him flannel, his curls falling effortlessly over his forehead as he glared past me at the man who just Kool-Aided into my back.
His eyes flickered from over my shoulder to my belongings on the ground. Wordlessly, he crouched down and started folding up the clothes and slipping them back into my suitcase. "Oh- no no that's okay you don't have to- I mean- agh this is such a mess." I scramble, trying to stop him from helping any further. 'This is so embarrassing.'
I squat down next to him, working side by side to get everything packed away. His hands stopped moving at the sound of my own voice, his head turning toward me as he took in my appearance for the first time. "You're American?" "Uh-" I blush, distracted by his pretty frown. "-yeah." I finally answer, a bit dazedly. "Cool." He responded. We just sat there, chocolate eyes looking into amber, until the distant sound of a train's horn broke us out of our trance. "Riddle. Mattheo Riddle. Where are you headed?" The boy asked, sticking his hand out for me to shake.
"Oh! I'm Veralynn Post, um, you can call me Vera. Everyone does." His eyebrow raised at that. "E-Everyone back in my- HEY!" I gasp as he starts laughing. "I was just teasing you Anna, no need to fret. But seriously where are you headed?" He tried to quiet his chuckling as he lifts my bag from the ground, carrying it along with his (and refusing to let me take it off his hands).
I took out the letter in my pocket, looking at the information it contained. "Platform 9¾." He seemed to ponder that for a minute. "I don't think that exists..." My eyes widen. How could I be so stupid? He's a normal not-wizardy-boy and here I am, spilling all of Hogwarts beans to the first person who would listen. Maybe if I play it off like I'm a dumb tourist he'll just forget all about it. Wait- is he laughing? OH THIS BOY- "Man it's easy to trick you. Lighten up, Vera."
My blush deepens, but not out of embarrassment. No, I was mad. "That's not funny Mattheo, I'm genuinely lost and alone and you're laughing at me." He seemed to soften at that, his laughter quieting down. "I'm not laughing at you, I'm laughing with you." "I'm not laughing." "Hmm... touché." The way he said it made me want to punch him in the face.
Mattheo seemed to notice the anger in my eyes as he straightened up. "All jokes aside, I'm headed there too. We can walk together?" He offered, looking at me apologetically. "...fine, but no more teasing." "That's too high a price." "Fine," another huff from me, "you can tease if you want to but at least make it obvious you're not being serious."
His grin grew. "You're funny, Vera."
~end of flashback~
I met Emma when we got onto the train, and ever since then, I've had an unrequited crush and a best friend. Emma was everything I could have asked for; a dear friend, a confidant, and a sister. And I will always remember that day in fondness for when I met her, but alongside the sweet memories of a friendship comes the tainted recollection of a lost love.
Mattheo and I have remained friendly up to this very moment, as I watch Emma fall in love with his best friend, Theodore. But after I was sorted into Hufflepuff and he into Slytherin, we went our separate ways. Never being close but always painfully aware whenever he walked into the room. In his defense, it's not like he ignored me or anything. We were amicable with one another, just not in each other's core friend group.
The sad truth is, is that girls tripped over themselves because the kind boy I met seven years ago grew into Adonis reincarnate. They notice him because he's effortlessly good-looking and always seems to get great grades, even when he's constantly skipping class to smoke or make out with some girl in the broom closet.
His chiseled abs, strong jawline, and generally Greek-god-like physique (thank you Quidditch) made him a heart throb.
However, the female population of Hogwarts treat him like a piece of meat. Even though they're aware that he’ll cast them aside after just one night of being in his embrace, not only being aware but wanting it because no one really wanted to love him. Him. I've had to watch as everyone acted as if he really was just a carnal beautiful body and not a soul.
Sure, his core friend group (Pansy, Theodore, Blaise, Enzo, and Draco) didn't care about his looks. From what I've observed, they genuinely care about him. But after years of almost the entirety of Hogwarts not caring, I've noticed how it's worn on him.
And it's not just Hogwarts and their obsessive drooling over him, it's his home life. His father in Azkaban, his mother dead, his brother ignoring his existence. He had an abusive childhood and the roughest of up bringings. The very same women who will beg him for one night in his bed, turn around to gossip about how he's the next Voldemort.
So very few people cared about him.
And I've noticed how it's worn on him.
I've noticed lots of things.
I've noticed how when he walks through the food line, he never takes the last of anything, always leaving it for the person behind him. How he hangs behind after dinner to pick up the plates and trays our fellow students were too lazy to clean up themselves. I've noticed that whenever a girl in our year comes into class with bruises on her body, her boyfriend is in the infirmary the next day and there are cuts on Mattheo's knuckles. How he slips treats to the magical creatures when everyone's too busy listening to Hagrid's lecture to even notice the exchange. Everyone is too busy to notice, except for me.
I've spent my entire Hogwarts career falling in love with a boy, who grew into a man, all while I remained unnoticed.
I hang on to every word I hear him mutter to Theo, to every nod he sends my way as he walks past, and the rare time he asks me for my notes after he misses class.
So here we are, back in my dorm, watching my best friend's love life blossom before my eyes. Yes, I'm happy for her. But yes, I'm also, admittedly and ashamedly, jealous.
'Cause she's the kind of book that you can't put down Like if Cleopatra grew up in a small town And all the bad boys would be good boys If they only had a chance to love her And to tell you the truth, sometimes I wish I was her
I tried to listen as Cedric droned on, talking excitedly about this new book or muggle movie or something. To be honest, I've missed about 90% of what he's said. I slept roughly two hours last night, staying up to be Emma's sounding board. 'She really has fallen hard for this guy.' I think to myself as I glance across the Great Hall. Theo was sitting at his usual table, with the usual people. One of those people is Mattheo...
Mattheo laughed at something Enzo said, leaning across the table to grab food off of Pansy's plate (much to Pansy's protest). 'I hope he has a good day.' I sigh, looking back down into my cup. I had my hands wrapped firmly around the mug, sipping the warm black nectar. Emma still teased me after all these years, calling me a "Yank" for preferring just plain old coffee over tea.
A masculine rumble broke me out of my thoughts as my eyes flickered up again to see what was happening. Oh. Theo was here. And he was yapping, per usual. What, when did he get here?
The man in question was leaning his hand onto the table to my right, looking down at Emma who was in between us. "Hey, honey..." He muttered, their voices getting collectively quieter as they got wrapped up in each other's presence.
I rolled my eyes, sitting up slightly to grab Cedric. He leaned forward, but not willingly. My hands firmly grasped his collar to pull him halfway across the table. "AH- Vera let go-" "Not until you get me a new dorm and a new table. I can't handle it anymore, DO YOU HEAR ME? TOO MUCH THEO! TOO MUCH!" I shouted, sleep deprivation getting to me.
Theo stopped whatever poem or other crap he was reciting for my friend, looking up just to glare at me. "Oh stop being the anti-Cupid just because you're jealous." I turn my head, poor Cedric still being subject to my grasp, just to glare right back at Theo.
"Jealous? What the hell would I be jealous of? The fact that y'all effortlessly behave as if you got SLEEP LAST NIGHT?" "No, jealous that no one got you flowers." "Flowers? What flow- awwww Emma those are so pretty!" I push Cedric back down, turning fully in my seat to see the pretty roses in her hands.
She smiled up at me, nodding. "Someone told him they were my favorite." Her lovesick grin made me crack a genuine smirk. I sigh, feigning disappointment as I respond, "Too bad they lied."
"WHAT?" Theo exclaimed, eyes widening in horror. "Veralynn Post quit lying to my boyfriend!" Emma cried out as I just laughed harder. "Sorry, sorry, I had to."
I straightened up my posture, leaning back over my food, finishing the rest of my coffee as the lovebirds said their goodbyes. We both watched as Theo made his way back to his side of the Hall, sliding in to sit next to Mattheo.
Mattheo.
He was looking right at me. I smiled hesitantly at him, but he just looked back at his own friends, conversation continuing like it never stopped.
Oh.
My heart skipped a beat and not in a good way. This happened sometimes. I'd think he was encouraging me, I'd make an attempt to reach out, he'd go back to acting like I barely existed. My thoughts wandered to Emma. Emma. She seemed to be a natural at taming the 'bad boys.'
She had broken down the walls of her man, her man who was so misunderstood and underappreciated. Theo wanted to be good for her. It was like she was a drug he couldn't walk away from, a book he just couldn't put down.
My final thought echoed in my head like a constant ringing in between my ears as my eyes felt glued to the man who held my heart. And I knew—I knew that while I was happy to be myself—that sometimes on the coldest of nights and loneliest of days, when the absence of his love and affection rang the loudest... sometimes I wish I was her.
Well, she's so New York when she's in L.A. She won't lose herself in love the way that I did 'Cause she'll call you out, she'll put you in your place When Emma falls in love, I'm learning
It was only the start of our 6th year, but every morning felt as if I was waking up on death row. Like my days were numbered, and with each passing minute, the executioner took another step closer. I've always been able to comfort myself by saying, 'It's okay that I can't hold him in my arms. At least I can be near him.'
Being in his presence alone has always been enough for me. His aura, his being, his soul being in the same room as mine has been enough for me to be content. But with graduation comes the end of it all. The end of us. The end of him. You might be going, 'Ah but graduation is just next year! You have time!'
Time? Time? It's taken me six years to get to this point and you think one more will be the difference between my anguish and my happiness? The time needed to cause a change? When him and I, two separate souls, intwine to become just us? No. There's never enough time and I'm too much of a coward to try it now, with another year in Hogwarts, where I would have to suffer not only 6th but 7th year in embarrassment and rejection. Because Mattheo Riddle doesn't want an us.
'Who am I even kidding? There is no us, there never will be. I sound like a fucking stalker.' I scoff, aggressively zipping up my bag. Potions had ended a while ago but apparently, I spaced out, only coming to when Professor Snape closed a desk draw rather loudly. It was only me and three other students in the room with him, taking our time to pack up and clean our workstations.
"-Vera. VERA." My eyes snapped up, noticing Emma waving her hand in my face. I grimaced, pushing her hand away. "How long...?" "A few seconds." She answered, frowning. I squirmed under her scrutinizing overlook. Her eyes swirled with a flurry of emotions; confusion, doubt, concern, etc. "What? Do I have something on my face?" She frowned deeper at that.
Chuckling nervously I hiked my bag over my shoulder, leading us into the hallway as we began our trek to the courtyard. Once a week we always pack lunch ahead of time, and then walk down to the Black Lake to have a picnic together. It was the highlight of my day and the pick-me-up I've really needed this past week. 'I just hope we can get there before we run into Theo.'
Theo's been really good for her, and he's been really good to her. Honestly, never thought I'd say it, but he's become like a brother to me. I usually look forward to our playful banter and then watching him whine and pout and tell Emma she hasn't spent enough time with him, but something's been off with him lately.
His behavior is as if he's walking on eggshells around me. His glances were full of concern. His questions, 'How are you?', 'Do you need to talk?', etc., etc. have been way more persistent. Nothing about me has changed, at least I don't think it has. I have no clue how he's somehow gotten the skill to look right through my mask.
I risk a glance over at Emma, eyes narrowing. She was chewing her lip, her fingers tap tap tapping. It was a trait she picked up from me. She used to complain about how fidgety I was, constantly having to at least drum my fingers or shake my knee to be able to focus. Something that became more incessant as I would get nervous or uncomfortable.
And then I noticed her doing the same thing whenever she got... nervous. 'You must have rubbed off on me,' she'd say. Well, it's a two-way road, Emma. Because your annoyingly empathetic self rubbed off on me too.
I left her with a habit she hated, and she left me with the ability to read her emotions like a book. It had it's benefits. We push through the bustling crowd, making our way to the ‘glass room,’ as we so eloquently coined it in our 1st year. It was a room with an entire wall made up of windows and an almost simple back-patio-like door that worked as one of the many exits that led to the courtyard. It was our favorite, just because of how homey it felt.
I twist the doorknob, pulling the door open for her before following her outside. There was a small friendly match of quidditch being played on one side of the courtyard, some kids were studying, and there was just a general bustle of life out there. Both from the students and from nature. As we walked down the steps and into the grass, further past everyone, weaving through all the hubbub and finally getting away from all the prying ears, I turned toward Emma. We continued down to the lake but now we finally had privacy.
“Emma, what’s been up with you? You and Theo, now that I mention it. It’s felt as if you’ve both been… watching me. It’s kinda weird.” I nervously laugh, running a hand through my blonde curls to push them out of my face. Our black robes with yellow accents swished with our movement, though Emma’s posture noticeably stiffened when I spoke up.
She slowed to a stop, hand reaching out to grab my own and making me halt right alongside her. “Em?-” “I know.” “Know what?” “I know you’re in love with him.” Time seemed to slow. My heart quickened and my hands started tap tap tapping. I tilted my head slightly, looking at her closer. I never told anyone, I never spoke a word about my feelings.
Which means she noticed, she caught on, and she figured it out. She’s the only one who could’ve figured it out. Theo’s too dense to have- she told him. “Love who?” I spat out, anger simmering just below the surface. She caught on to that too. “Matt-” I yank my hand from hers, stomping away from her and towards the water. “Vera! I’m not judging you- stop just stop running away!” “Running?!” I whip back around. “You told Theo!”
Her eyes looked wet, her lip trembling as she took in my ruffled appearance. “I didn’t.” I scoffed. “I didn’t.” She repeated with a firmer tone this time. “He knows you enough to know something is wrong, but he doesn’t know what is wrong.” “My- my love isn’t wrong. It’s not the end of the world for someone to be loved by me.” I shutter out running a hand down my face as I try not to spiral.
I know she didn’t mean it like that, I know she didn’t mean to have that heart wrenching look of pity in her eyes. But I could just hear what she was thinking, my insecurities clanging like a gong in between my ears, ‘Oh Vera, how could you ever think he’d love you back?’
We stood in a field. Surrounded by tall grass and beautiful wildflowers, a lake just a few feet to our right, a tree about two yards to the left of us, and the sounds of our school echoing down the hill and filling the uncomfortable silence that fell upon us.
“Vera…” My friend’s words cut through that very silence, voice sincere. “...you love with a love so loyal, that you are content with standing on the sidelines for years. You love, with a love so fierce, that you will defend and fight and protect even when the object of your desire doesn’t take notice. You think I haven't noticed your absolute adoration toward the boy? I picked up on it back in 2nd year. You can’t keep secrets from me, you know that.” We both laughed through tears at that one.
I looked at her in shock, not knowing what to say.
But she quickly spoke up before I could even fully process what she said before, “You love with a love anyone would be blessed to receive. But the fact of the matter is, you absolutely suck when it comes to confessions.”
My eyes narrowed at that sudden change in tone, getting whiplash from how fast she went from serious to downright insulting. It would be funny if the situation wasn't so emotional.
“You watch him from afar, you love him at a distance, but graduation is closer than it's ever been and you’re letting him slip through your fingers. I’ve watched you lose yourself in this love for long enough. It’s time, Vera. Tell him or move on but I won’t let you throw away our last years at Hogwarts just because you were trying to hold on to something you’ve never had.” I flinched at that, looking back toward the ground.
“I-I don’t know what you’re saying…” Evidently, Emma crossed the distance separating us, and I felt her hands comfortingly squeezing my shoulders. “I’m saying… it’s time you come clean. It’s time you tell Mattheo you’re in love with him.”
Emma met a boy with eyes like a man Turns out her heart fits right in the palm of his hand Now he'll be her shelter when it rains Little does he know, his whole world's about to change
So I told him I love him.
KIDDING. After Emma surprise attacked me in that field, I ran back to our dorm and hid until noon the next day. She gave me her notes and we caught up on all the classes I missed, and then we talked for hours about him. And I told her everything.
Everything I felt toward him, everything I loved about him, everything I knew about him. She just smiled at me and rubbed my back during it all, giving nods of encouragement as I stuttered over my words.
The days went by as I tried to figure out what to do. I’d sound absolutely bonkers if I just went up to him and professed my undying affection. I’d become every other girl! ‘Except this time, it’d be a girl who truly cares about him…’ I thought bitterly to myself.
Every time I started to brainstorm on how I could run into him or get his attention, I felt like a crazy person. Like someone could peer into my thoughts and watch as I spiraled further and further into the madness of conspiracy theories and red string. It felt wrong to be so… calculated with him. He deserves better than that.
So I stayed quiet, waiting for an opportunity but not pushing it. Waiting for the stars to align and him to drop in my lap. Waiting like I’ve been waiting for the past six years. My frown deepened at that thought, heart weary as I walked into Transfiguration. Three things immediately drew my attention to the far corner of the room.
The object of my affections was actually… attending class.
He was sitting in my seat.
He was staring right at me.
I gulp, hands flexing around the strap of my satchel, nervously and uncomfortably holding eye contact with his gorgeous chocolate pools, the windows to his soul. The only way to describe the emotions swarming in those very same windows, was… curiosity? Amusement? Warmth? It was hard to tell at this distance—the occasional student walking to their seat or passing by to meet up with their friends making it hard to gaze wholly into his eyes.
‘Oh how I wish I knew what you were thinking…’ I shake my head, breaking that train of thought as well as the spell Mattheo and I seemed to be under. A shoulder bumps into me, reminding me I was planted in the doorway. I crossed the threshold, walking towards Mattheo— my desk.
“I’d say I was happy to see you but I’d be happier if I had my own seat.” I prodded jokingly as I sat down rather heavily in the seat to his left. A laugh slipped out of his lips, the corners of his mouth curling into a smile, throwing his head to the side to look at me. “Your seat? I’ve never seen you sit here, baby.” Mattheo teased, eyes glinting with humor.
I felt my cheeks burn at that comment. He said it so casually, that term of endearment that I would give anything to hear him say with meaning.
Our interactions always went this way. He'd shamelessly flirt with me (making me feel as if I couldn't breathe), I tried my best to meet his challenge (occasionally I got him to blush too), and it always ended with him walking away without a backwards glance. ‘Stop, stop thinking that. He’s talking to you, talk back!’ My inner Jiminy Cricket chides.
“You’ve never seen me sit here? Well, darling, I’d have to say this is the first time I’ve seen you in this class. It’s no wonder you’ve never noticed me sitting here.” Mattheo’s eyes widened slightly at that but his smile never faded, pleasantly surprised respond with your own pet-name.
“Wizards and witches, quiet down!” Professor McGonagall called out, dropping a heavy book onto her desk. The sound of the loud thud echoed as the surrounding voices hushed to a silence. She had everyone’s attention. Well, everyone except for the two kids in the far corner.
We continued gazing into each other’s eyes, brows furrowing into an almost challenge to see who’d turn away first. “Ah, Mr. Riddle. Glad to see you bothered to grace us with your presence.” The older woman clicked her tongue, effectively pulling us apart, our eyes breaking contact as our heads whipped toward her. “Talk to me after class.” McGonagall made sure to stare point blank at Mattheo, voice steady and tone devoid of humor. “Fuck, she looks mad.” I put my hand over my mouth, holding in a snicker at Mattheo’s whispered comment as our teacher begins her lesson. “Stop, you’re gonna get us in trouble.” I scold, opening my notebook and reaching into my bag looking for a quill. Oh crap.
My eyes widened in panic. No quill. I started unzipping the different pockets, rummaging around, hoping that with enough silent begging and prayer, one would just magically appear. ‘It’s fitting we’re in Transfiguration… maybe the lesson will be on “Making Your Own Quill.”’
I’m pulled out of my inner grumbling with a tap on my shoulder. I was bent over toward the side, in between Mattheo and I’s tables, searching as silently as possible for anything to write with. So the sudden feeling of two fingers tapping my arm made me jump slightly.
I glance up, seeing the prettiest and most annoyingly smug grin. “If I lend you a quill, will you lend me your seat?” He asked, tapping on the chair he was leaning back in. I frown, eyebrows furrowing yet again as I sit back up. “You not only brought one, but two quills? I didn’t know you owned a notebook.” I whisper back, happily shocked to find out he had planned to pay attention today.
“No, I brought one. And trust me, it was a spur of the moment decision. Deep down we both know I wasn’t gonna use it anyway. Just take it.” He finally pulled out the writing tool from his bag, sliding it onto the wood slab in front of me.
“Mattheo I can’t take your onl-” “You can, and you will.” He smirked, insisting. "Well..." I sigh, nodding as I picked up the feather. "...Mattheo Riddle. You are my hero." "Call me any day baby, I'm happy to rescue such a beautiful damsel." His eyes glinted with amusement at my burning cheeks.
He turned back to face the front of the class, his heart stopping stupid ass grin staying plastered on his gorgeous stupid ass face. ‘He called me bea-HE CALLED ME BEAUTIFUL. What the heck is happening.' I close my eyes, breathing in and out a few times to try to get control over my racing thoughts.
'Will I ever get used to the utter heart palpitations this man causes me to have? It’s like a rabbit is trapped in my chest.’ I shake my head, looking back down at my journal.
I didn’t even know where to begin, utterly lost in this day's lecture as the past however-many-minutes was spent paying attention to Mattheo and panicking over my lack of writing tools rather than the actual subject Professor McGonagall was droning on about.
My thoughts wander back to what I was thinking of before I saw the beautiful boy to the right of me. I’ve been waiting for six years. For six years I’ve been waiting for the perfect opportunity to drop in my lap, or for Riddle to come profess his love to me, or something, anything. I can’t even remember at this point.
I was tired of it all. Tired of waiting, tired of not knowing, tired of not living just because I yearned for something I didn’t have. I dip the quill in the ink, hesitating as the tip hovered over paper. The ink gathered at the point, almost falling off and splattering on the white page.
I glance to my right, gazing fondly at him. His profile, his curls, his general posture as he tried to pretend he was paying attention but he was simultaneously fighting sleep. His eyes kept fluttering shut and he was slumping further and further down into his chair.
I look back down at the paper. I’m tired of waiting. And so I began writing.
I met a boy with eyes like a man Turns out my heart fits right in the palm of his hand Now I’ll be his shelter when it rains Little does he know, his whole world's about to change

Not a Nap - Silver x Reader
Doing the masquerade has reminded me of Silver's well-meaning ignorance. I love it. Also, I thought this would be funny.
Premise: Silver thinks Reader/Yuu/OC is napping
Words: 839
~~~~~
Pain seeps through my head as the worst headache I’ve had in a long time washes over me. Memories of the causing incident start to flash behind my eyes—nagging at my fellow freshmen and dormmates to keep their things out of the middle of the floor, them making excuses not to help me clean up and dashing to their club activities, me tripping on something of theirs as I cleaned up, and bashing my head on the coffee table as I went down.
Suppressing a soft groan, I press down on the throbbing in vain hopes of relief. Then I get to thinking: the floor is a lot softer than I remember it being. Prying my eyes open reveals not the ceiling of the commons but that of my room painted with the rays of the setting sun.
It takes a few blinks to confirm that this is indeed my room, yet I remember falling in the commons. But maybe I’m wrong. No, I’m pretty sure I was supposed to be in the commons. Well this isn’t good.
Warmth rests beneath my hand. And it moves.
I snap my gaze down to find a young man, peacefully asleep like the dead, his chest rising and falling beneath my palm. Now I’m really confused because I definitely don’t remember him being around before the incident.
I shake him. “Silver. Silver.” Oh, my tongue feels weird.
Surprisingly, those auroral eyes flutter open.
“Hm? Oh, hey,” he hums sleepily. A hand rises to rub the sleep from his eyes.
“What are you doing here?”
It takes him a moment to remember. “Malleus and Lilia asked if you were going to join us for dinner. You were asleep on the floor when I came to ask. You must’ve been tired—didn’t even stir when I brought you to bed.” The young man sits up, a bashful tint painting his nose. “And you just looked so peaceful that I couldn’t help joining you for a bit.”
What he says swirls in my head. Then, with a frown, Silver reaches out to take my shoulder; I hadn’t even realized I was tilting.
“Are you okay?”
“Silver, I wasn’t napping. I hit my head.” It’s like my tongue is getting in the way.
His eyes fly wide open. “Oh!”
Fingers dance through my hair until I flinch away from the spike in pain.
“Oh that’s a pretty large bump. Are you dizzy? Do you feel sick?”
“I don’t know. I hurt,” I drawl.
Silver scoots off the bed. “We better go to the infirmary.”
I’m unaware of whether or not I can carry myself to the infirmary, but I don’t have to think about it for Silver’s sinewed arms lift me from the bed. Out into the twilight he takes me, cool air contrasting the warmth of his body. Leaning against him, I let his steady heartbeat lull me nearly back to slumber, but the bang of his boot to the infirmary door jars me back.
After a brief scolding in regards to his entrance, the school nurse ushers us in to one of the beds. My thoughts are sluggish but I’m able to answer all her questions. The conclusion does turn out to be a mild concussion and, while I should be fine to return home, it’s not recommended I spend the night alone. Regardless, she ventures into the supply closet for a few items to send home with me.
“Perhaps you should stay in Diasomnia tonight,” Silver suggests. When I don’t immediately answer, he back tracks. “Or if you’d prefer to stay in Ramshackle, I could volunteer to keep an eye on you there.”
Seeing his serious concern, I make an attempt at a joke. “I dunno. You might just assume I’m sleeping again if I pass out.”
His worry slips to guilt. “You’re right. It feels like things only get better when you’re around so I never considered the possibility of you getting seriously hurt.” The young man begins to pace. “Even if I didn’t, there’s no guarantee I wouldn’t fall asleep again myself. Maybe I should ask fath—er, I mean Lilia to—”
My first attempt misses, but I do manage to grab Silver’s arm to cease the spiral.
“Woah, woah. I was kidding,” I interrupt. “I’m sure you would take very good care of me.” My stomach decides it’s time to interject. “But could we please stay at Diasomnia? I’m so hungry.”
With a sigh, he lets a gentle smile grace his lips. “Of course. I’ll take care of you as if you were my liege.”
“I don’t think I’m quite at the same level as Malleus.”
“You are to me.”
His response is so quick that it takes me a moment to process it. Each word adds an ember to the collating fire in my ears. Silver’s brow furrows.
“How are you feeling? Do you have a fever?”
Though his hand feels sweetly cool against my forehead, it too adds degrees to my temperature.
"No. I’m feeling better.”
Welcome
Setting: TLOU, right after S1 finale, back in Jackson
Characters: Joel x OC reader, Ellie
(I started a whole thing with like 6 pages of back story and decided nope none of this was what I actually wanted to revel in for now, so a few helpful things to know are that OC is one of the original Jackson settlers, has a social work/psychology background, and Linda and Bruce are the people who lived in her house Before Cordyceps)
Length: 2.5k
Rating: This one is all-ages fluff (...for now?)
I stood in the middle of one of the greenhouses, looking around me and to my flower garden. I didn't know anything about this man and the new girl, other than that they had somehow made it across the country alone, willingly left Jackson, and came back again. My platitudes of nice flowers and silly games seemed insufficient. They more likely needed… tetanus shots. Vitamins. A very soft pillow.
Well, I am who I am, I decided, and things like this are what make our town thrive. I clipped some lavender - everybody loves lavender, it's nice and calming. Sunflowers. They were a little garish next to the lavender, so something to tie it together. Hydrangeas? Sure. We actually had a lot of hydrangea bushes around town, they were an easy perennial plant for the retirement and time-share crowd who lived here before, but most needed to be cut back whereas mine were regularly maintained and now different colors and sizes thanks to my experiments with soil additives. I added some ornamental greenery and wrapped it in an old feed bag, and placed it in a basket from the stash on the shelf. Soft purple, vibrant yellow, light blue… suddenly it felt fitting, the colors of the sky.
I had already poked around at school and even in my basement, but Linda and Bruce didn't seem to do much as far as entertainment for their grandkids. At school I found a box that a patrol team had brought back full of items I wasn't sure what to do with yet, and had brought home some comic books and Monopoly Deal. Joel definitely didn't seem like a man who would care about flowers, but I wondered if Ellie just might enjoy an adventure and a competitive game.
Well, here we go. I picked up their basket and left the greenhouse, cutting back across the main street where I had laid eyes on Ellie and Joel all of two times from a distance, and down the residential streets that led back to the neighborhood. Maria and Tommy had offered up the house across the street from theirs, and it felt different, good, knowing that there was a growing family on this street, not another empty house that was a reminder of who used to be there or should be there.
The sun was starting to set in that dazzling way it does along the spring equinox, fading periwinkle blue split with fiery streaks of pink and orange. Birds flew overhead or rested in the small tended yards, quiet noises came from open windows around me and my favorite boots meeting the pebbled drive. I felt the bittersweet grief that tinged moments like this, heart aching with guilt for my mother, my friends, the people I left behind outside who didn't get to see this through, but the joy that at least some of us did. I marched resolutely up to the door of the blue house, and knocked.
I had the wherewithal to step back down the porch stairs, knowing from experience that most people didn't recently live in places where their front doors received polite knocks. I was glad I did, because the front door cracked in and, lit by the setting sun behind me, I saw the glint of a dark, wary set of eyes, and a pistol held at ready. Though at least it was pointed down.
I moved very slowly backwards and down another step to the walk, talking another step back once my foot found the ground. “Hi there. You won't need that, it's just me.”
The only sign he heard me was the quickening of his chest, like his breath was catching up after being left behind, and the tensing of his jaw and slight flare of his nose.
There was a sudden thumping behind him and the door flung the rest of the way open, the girl I knew was Ellie shouldering her way past the man who I could see now was Joel. He tensed his jaw and closed his eyes, and for a moment I really was afraid he was going to freeze up or faint.
“Hey! I saw you earlier,” Ellie said, “are you on that council with Maria?” Behind her, Joel seemed to make a strong effort to take a deep breath and holstered the pistol on his belt.
“Jesus, Ellie-” he said, but she cut him off already. I suppressed a smile, wondering how in the world he kept his patience for months out in the open with her.
“Ooh, neat!” she said, going for the basket. “This one's new,” she grabbed the game and held it up over her shoulder for Joel to see behind her. “What the fuck, where did you find these?!” She grabbed the comics, leaving the basket and the flowers, turning to him. “At least it's not Volume 3 of Will Livingston.”
He shook his head at her, finally crossing his arms and looking more at ease as he leaned against the doorway. Perhaps it was because I was already standing down three steps, but now that he was standing in the open much closer than the distance Maria had pointed him out from earlier, and seeing where Ellie pushed past him, I realized how tall he was. Not just tall, but broad across the doorway, her small frame not even reaching his shoulder. Well, that intimidation factor and reaction time probably helped them on the outside.
“You can't just barge past me like that,” he said to her. “We don't know people here yet.”
I opened my mouth again. “You don't have to worry about that, you're safe here, really. People actually do just knock on doors because they want to see their neighbors.”
I watched, interested, as they both looked at each other, some sort of quick, invisible communication with minute changes in expression as Joel pursed his lips and cocked his head at her and she shook her head back in an exasperated way. He ticked his head again, before turning back to me.
“And it's not polite, Ellie,” he said, a southern accent softening “polite”. “I'm uh, sorry about that,” he acknowledged, fiddling with the handle on the gun and dropping it back in the holster. “Just not used to seeing a whole lot of other people around.”
“That's alright, really,” I said again, reaching out to pick up the basket to hand to him. “You must be Ellie,” I said to her, stepping past her to hand the basket to Joel. “I see she got the good stuff already,” as she triumphantly held up the books and card games with a grin, “but Maria told me you were back and staying, and I know it's not much but I try to drop off a few things to everyone new, just something nice to brighten up the house, I know how gloomy it can be even if we try to check on the unoccupied houses.”
Joel tentatively reached out, and I dropped the handle into his palm - a hand and fist that matched the size of the rest of him. Ellie peered over the edge. “OH, I like those, we saw a lot of those,” she said, pointing to the sunflowers.
I smiled. “I bet you did, they do pretty well with no one looking after them, especially in a field, the birds just take the seeds and more and more spread.”
“Yeah,” she nodded. “We-” she suddenly cut off and looked at Joel, a question across her face and a closed expression from him. As an almost-officially-trained clinician, their interactions were really something to watch.
“Yeah, we did see some farms and stuff,” he acknowledged still looking at her.
“Do you know this game?” She asked, holding up the Monopoly Deal. “I know Skip-bo, and Boggle, and some poker and stuff-” Joel's stern, cautious demeanor broke and he rolled his eyes in a recognizable heaven help me expression of a parent - “do you want to play?”
I realized she was asking me and that my eyes were caught on Joel. “Oh- sure! Well, I'd love to, but it's getting kind of late, we should ask, um…” my voice trailed off as I looked over her at Joel and realized Maria didn't give me a straight answer. Father? Uncle? I had met some people in really terrible situations, what we had blatantly called human trafficking before and now accepted as just terrible captive situations, and they didn't strike me as such, but I still realized I didn't actually know what they were to each other.
He cleared his throat and pushed off the doorframe. “Just Joel,” he said. “One game, Ellie, you'll have plenty of time to meet more people soon.”
She rolled her eyes. “Fine, sheesh. Hope it's a really long game.” She grinned mischievously at me. “Come on. It's not as dusty here as I thought it would be.” She held the door open for me as she walked through. I had to sort of slide past Joel as he turned to make room in the doorway, my basket in his hand, sunflower petals and hydrangea bunches absurdly small and delicate in his grasp. I glanced up at him with a shrug meant as both permission and apology. This was his home now, after all. The gravity of his presence somehow made me stop as my eyes caught his, the purple-blue light of the sky casting his profile into a jagged relief echoing the mountains behind him. His eyes seemed to search mine for a minute, soft and light in contrast to the strong lines of his brow and jaw.
“There's enough room at the table, I think,” Ellie yelled, and I about fell over across the threshold. I caught myself and stumbled toward her voice in the kitchen. “It says we have to have a draw pile and a bunch of discard piles and ooh cool fake money and stuff-” I made my way towards her and as I looked back at Joel, standing in the doorway of his own home. I swear he chuckled, though at myself or at Ellie, I wasn't sure.
Later, after I had thoroughly schooled Ellie in Monopoly Deal - which I felt slightly bad about, more due to her impatience in reading the directions and her ruthless strategy to buy and sell everything and take chances on the draw pile - and she repaid me by rattling on about comic book characters that I couldn't keep straight, Joel intervened from the corner he was sitting in. He had spent the evening sitting off to the side watching Ellie, or pacing around the house and poking in drawers or shelves he probably had not had a chance to take inventory of yet. I noticed throughout the game that Ellie's eyes often flicked to him, as if she was keeping stock of how far away he was and what obstacles she might have to run through to get to him. He didn't look towards her quite as much but I noticed he often kept his left side to her and even when elsewhere in the room kept his head tilted to her, attuned to her voice and sounds of.her hands on the cards and feet kicking the chair or stomping the ground.
“All right, it's full dark, come on Ellie. You've eaten, you've played, you gotta sleep.” She only mildly protested, and he leaned towards her. “You've seen the whole house. I got it, it's ok,” he added softly, and I pretended to look away in interest at the shelves in the kitchen.
“Only because it's a real bed,” she pointed at him. “If it's full dark, old man, you better go, too. You don't have to take watch tonight.”
Out of my peripheral vision focused on the 21-year-old calendar likely melted to the side of the refrigerator at this point, I saw traces of another one of their invisible exchanges, dubious, questioning, acquiescing, before Ellie gave an exaggerated sigh bounced up from the table. “‘Night, Rosie!” She said to me. I looked back from someone's dentist appointment reminder in September 2003 to wave to Ellie as she walked through the kitchen to the living room and up the stairs.
Joel leaned back and sighed, rocking his chair on the back two legs. “Thank you for that. We've met a few people on the way, but it's been a while since she had a chance to just be a kid like that again.” He rubbed his hands over his face
I nodded, my sensibilities barely keeping my curiosity at bay.
“There are plenty more games in the mess hall,” I said, “and most houses have some too, seems like the kind of place a lot of families went on vacation, there's a surprising amount of useful stuff left. Or we repurpose the stuff that doesn't seem useful.”
Joel nodded this time. “Rosie, was it?” He asked gruffly, the fatigue of whatever their journey had been clearly pressing on him.
“Or just Rose. It's something Maria's called me for a while, probably because roses were the first things I tried to grow here. Or maybe it refers to the whole rose-colored glasses idea.” I waved my hand around at the game, the house. “I know it's not easy getting here, believe me, and I work with a lot of families and kids at the school who are still processing it, but I think we have it really good here, and I'm happy with it.”
Joel made a noise low in his throat, and the hair on my arms goosebumps and my stomach made an unfamiliar swoop. “We've seen a lot, maybe a bit too much to see it like that,” he said, almost too quietly. He added, more directly this time, “that your real name? What people call you?”
I decided to challenge his mumbled comment. “Does it matter?” I looked straight at him, at those soft warm eyes so in contrast with the rest of him.
He tilted his head to one side and shook it once slowly. “No, don't s’pose it does,” he answered, either about my name or the comment. He stood up, balancing his instincts with likely some long-dormant attempt to remember manners and hospitality, and I made it easy for him, knowing this was only their second night back.
“Goodnight, Joel. Tell Ellie she can come visit whenever she wants, as long you're OK with it,” I added. “I work at the school and run a group at the greenhouse too, the families know the kids are pretty much welcome at any time. I have a literal open door policy, even at home.” If my door is open, everyone knows they can come in and find me.
I paused, my hand on the door as his eyes followed me through the dim light of the kitchen, basket of flowers in shadow next to him on a counter. “Welcome to Jackson.”
Everyone at school loves Multicultural day: The day where students are able to showcase a few variations from their culture, whether it be food, a dance, or a song. The day Multicultural day was announced, students who chose to participate in performing had 3 weeks to come up with something to show on the day.
Miguel loved being within his own space, but he still had three friends that were persistent. Every day since the announcement, his friends in their shared group chat sent a daily reminder to Miguel, and Miguel only, knowing his anti-social ass wouldn't show up unless they annoyed him enough to do so.
(M.Ohara_99) mahi_sniffer has mentioned you in pussy eaterssssss
Miguel groans at his phone in his hand, as he pushes the trolley in front of him even faster, speeding up so his mother that was beside wouldn't see his lit up notification. Swiftly typing with one hand.
mahi_sniffer: @M.Ohara_99 usi, you coming tmr?
M.Ohara_99: David, what the hell have I told you about our group chat name? My mum can see everything you type.
bololicker: @M.Ohara_99 I got you something to wear for tomorrow
M.Ohara_99: Nevermind, I'm not coming.
mahi_sniffer: YOU JUST SAID YES LIKE A WHOLE MINUTE AGO WHAT
Miguel chuckles to himself while smiling at his phone, abruptly coming to a stop when he feels the trolley crash into something. He looks up with widened eyes, seeing a bunch of packets and vegetables on the floor along with a basket.
"U-uh, fuck. I am so, so sorry," He apologizes instantly, shoving his phone into the middle pocket of his jumper loosely, making his way in front of the figure before getting on to his knees and picking everything up, paying no mind to who it was. Mentally cursing at himself as his knees click loudly, wanting to drown himself as he hears a soft giggle. He was grateful that whoever it was couldn't see his face, because his embarrassment grew even more and his face morphed into a little: 0-0. He grabbed everything and placed them neatly back into the basket before getting up and handing them to the person. Only to be face to face with her.
Fuck.
Manaia Fepuleai. The very girl that may have, or may have not piqued Miguel's interest since the very start of senior year. As well as year 11, 10, 9, 8, and 7...
Miguel found himself standing still in his spot like a complete idiot. This very moment was something he planned out as one of those scenarios he thinks of before going sleep. Always thinking of a plan if he ever sees her in public, that being: flirt.
"Hey, it's okay," Manaia smiled with kindness, sending a sense of relief down his body, though, he still couldn't help that little ink of a feeling of wanting to jump off a cliff.
"You okay? Hope my big basket didn't hurt you," she joked simply, covering her mouth with the back of her palm, the other hand holding the basket. Miguel looked back at Manaia dumbfounded. Looking back at the trolley he was previously pushing and the very obviously, smaller basket in her hand.
"Wh- huh?" He looked back awkwardly while she stood there with an uncomfortable silence, as well as an expecting look on her face. He stared at her for a few seconds with a straight face, braincells finally connecting and forming her words together.
"Oh- Ohhh!" "It was a joke."
The both of them spoke at the same time. She's the first one to speak, beating him and his cut-off apology.
This was going to be one of those embarrassing thoughts that makes him unable to sleep at night, indefinitely.
"You're so funny, Miguel," Manaia laughed once again, leaving Miguel unsure whether she was laughing at him thinking he was joking as well, but it didn't matter anymore. The somewhat awkward tension was gone, he thinks.
"So! Tomorrow.. Multicultural day, yaaaayyyyy.." Miguel slowly stretches the words while making jazz hands, smiling widely as she tried her best to contain her laughter.
Oh my fucking gosh, what the fuck am I doing, Miguel thought to himself.
"You're coming this year? Normally you'd skip out. I remember the other years when you wouldn't come."
"I- uh- well, I guess since it's our last year, I see no harm in going, I guess... Never knew you were so observant of me not coming."
Manaia feels her cheeks flush, smiling heavily as she pushes his shoulder playfully. Both smile shyly at each other.
"Shut up! I've got to get going, but I'd be happy to finally see you tomorrow. Me and the rest of the girls are going to be performing tomorrow."
"I'll come!" Miguel responded a bit too quick for his liking. Taking one step back, realising his excitement and awkwardness made them both stand so close. "Sorry. I mean, I'll come tomorrow for sure. If my friends manage to annoy me enough to come." He gives her a sincere smile.
She tilts her head playfully, a sly smile painted on her face, "I thought I'd be reason enough."
Miguel grew quiet, too flustered to hide his bashful smile. "We'll see tomorrow then."
M.Ohara_99 has sent a message to pussy eatersssss
[Aemond Targaryen x female Lucerys Velaryon • fem! oc!reader]
[warnings: sex content, fights, harassment, angst, smut, domination, violence, targcest (uncle/niece)]
[description: Boarding School - Modern Setting. Lucerya avoided her uncle for years but Aemond remembers and he is on his mission to make her life a living hell.]
Masterlist for all available parts (click here)
Aemond Targaryen was a fucking psychopath.
An absolute, without any restrictions, full-time psychopath. A psychopath without a good fibre in him.
She couldn't believe her mother was doing this to her.
Didn't she feel any love for her only daughter? Not a little bit.
Hadn't it occurred to her for a second, just a second, that it might be dangerous to let her sixteen-year-old daughter with her eighteen-year-old uncle to boarding school in the middle of nowhere?
Normally maybe not a big problem, but if you consider that she had removed an eyelet from her uncle's eye socket in her youthful carelessness, the whole thing might not be so safe anymore.
"You are dramatic," her brother Jace had replied, rolling his eyes. "I'm sure he'll have forgotten it long time ago."
Sure, because you forget the loss of an eye just like that.
Did he think she was an idiot or was he the idiot?
She was dead. She was as good as dead.
Her body would be found in some container, in a sack, in a dustbin, or in a grave that Aemond Targaryen would dig especially for her and a headstone which said, "Here lies Lucerya Targaryen, that girl who once had two eyes", because she was quite sure that her uncle would remove her eyes before he would murder her.
"Maybe I should post an Instagram Story," Lucy mused aloud. "According to the motto, she warned us all and nobody believed her. Then my story of pain will be aired on Netflix and Mum could buy her own island with Uncle Daemon."
"Or you could buy some tranquilizers," Jace suggested.
"Aegon is the much bigger problem," Jace started. "Balea informed me that he is stupid and has to repeat the year and now I have the fabulous honor of being in the same class as not only with Aemond but him as well. Sister, that's a problem."
Yeah of course, a murderous uncle who was after your life wasn't a real problem.
Lucy didn't really feel sorry. Jace was a boy and, if she was to believe his unqualified statements, he was popular. He had a lot of friends and Aegon wasn't known for being very brave.
She, on the other hand, was new at this school, weak as fast because life made her an girl and she didn't know a living soul in this goddamn dump.
And like she said, Aemond Targaryen was a psychopath.
King's Landing. What idiot gave a school such a name?
“Do you really think he is still angry about it? It happened a long time ago,” Rhaena asked.
“Wouldn’t you still be angry about it?” Balea asked back and Rhaena made a face. Of course she would be angry. Every normal thinking person would be angry, and Lucy couldn't even blame him. It was an eye, after all.
She regretted what she had done it, but it happened and there was nothing she could have done to undo it.
Aemond Targaryen had lost an eye and it was her fault.
After their headmaster, Corlys Velaryon, who was also her paternal grandfather, made some boring speech to the whole school, dinner was served in the great hall.
The school was housed in an old castle and while Lucerya found the name of the school more than silly, she had to admit that she liked the accommodation.
She had been looking for Aemond, but it was only her uncle Aegon who had let his gaze wander over her body and winked at her.
Disgusted, she had turned around and after dinner she had been taken to her room with her cousins (and recently stepsisters too, she didn't want to talk about how that had happened).
The girls lived separately from the boys and at some point this boarding school reminded her of Hogwarts. There were common rooms, shared showers, shared rooms and she had to share her room with three other girls. This school probably didn't think much of privacy.
"I'm going to take a shower," Lucy informed her cousins and Helaena. Helaena was her aunt, a pure but weird soul.
Probably the only reason why she was happy to have to go to this school.
Baela and Rhaena played with their phones while Helaena looked up from her book and smiled at her.
"Beware the beasts beneath the boards."
OK, thank you.
Lucy grabbed some new clothes, towels, shampoo and wearily made her way to the shared showers.
It was already a little after nine and bedtime was at half past nine, so she had to hurry.
She felt like she had to run half a marathon before she got to the showers.
The warm water was a real blessing on her skin and for a brief moment she forgot where she was.
She closed her eyes, relaxed and enjoyed the warm patter of the water on her body.
She turned off the water to soap up and sniffed her shower gel, which smelled of lemon cake.
"Oh my god, right there, oh fuck."
Lucy stopped in shock.
That was a joke.
That had to be a fucking joke.
"Harder," the girl's voice said while making sounds Lucy only knew from some porn videos.
Not that she's ever seen any. She was a good girl.
There were only two options for Lucy now.
Either she continued to shower and pretend nothing happened, or she would walk out of her shower and tell these two depraved souls that this was no place for their sins.
Or she would stick to the third option, pretending not to exist and waiting for the two strangers to piss off after having the enlightenment that this place was hardly a suitable place for their physical needs.
"You're so tight," a male voice moaned and Lucy's brow furrowed. She knew that voice from somewhere.
While the girl was screaming so loud that Lucy was pretty sure half the school had found out about therr sexual act in the WOMEN'S SHOWER, Lucy stood in her shower cubicle with shampoo in her hair and freezing, wishing that she could disappear from this world.
After what felt like an hour of waiting for the two to finally finish, her wish finally came true and the girl climaxed with loud moans.
She heard a few more skin slaps until the boy finally came too. At least he had stamina, she had to give him that.
"No one has ever satisfied me like that," the girl informed him, giggling. Oh my god.
She heard it rustling and after the noise of few kisses, the door was opened and silence fell in the room.
Lucy let out a relieved breath.
The whole time she had tried to breathe as quietly as possible, which wasn't easy at all.
No one would believe her, not even she herself believed what had just happened to her.
Dissolved, she turned around and was about to turn the water back on when suddenly her shower stall was ripped open.
Screaming, she turned around and stared stunned into the face of Aemond Targaryen, who let his eye travel over her naked body.
His silvery blonde hair was loose and he was wearing a black shirt and black sweatpants.
It wasn't fair that he was wearing so much and she was wearing so little. Which meant literally nothing.
"Lucerya," Aemond breathed softly.
Lucy tried to cover her body with her hands as best she could.
"Hello Aemond, what's up?," what the fuck, "I was just showering right, so could you-"
"Were you listening?" He wasn't serious, right?
"No? I took a shower and-"
wtf, was that him?
She had just listened to her uncle having sex?
"I got here first. You came and-"
"Hmm, I really came," Aemond interrupted, and she wanted to kill herself. Just kill herself. Well, maybe her uncle would do that for her.
"Long time no see," Aemond said, letting his gaze travel over her body again.
"The last time I saw you you were six years old playing with kitchen knives."
"Ah, right, good of you to bring up the subject," Lucy interjected.
Change the topic, change it. She wanted to get out of here as soon as possible.
He raised a eyebrow.
"I wanted to apologize for this unfortunate accident."
Aemond frowned and raised both eyebrows. An eye patch covered his shattered eye and a scar ran across the left side of his face.
Kind of sexy. If he wouldn't be her uncle and if it wouldn't have been her who caused his injury.
A smile developed on his lips before he walked towards her. Needless to say, it was not a very trustworthy smile. It was that serial killer smile before they took their victims apart.
She totally felt safe here.
Startled, Lucy took a few steps back and was pinned against the cold shower wall by Aemond.
He pressed his body against hers and grabbed her chin with his hand. He gently pressed her cheeks together, making her mouth part slightly.
"Unfortunate accident?" he repeated her words.
When he said it like that, it sounded totally stupid.
"You broke Jace's nose and you didn't stop," Lucy justified herself. Her wet brown hair hung in curls over her face. "I had to do something. You said you will kill him."
"You mean you took my eye for giving your brother some good deserving slaps?"
He was ironic. That never boded well for psychopaths.
"Look, I guess we see things a little differently but I'm sorry, okay?"
Aemond stared at her for a moment before starting to laugh.
"You're sorry? You took my eye and after more than ten years the only thing you say to me is that you're fucking sorry?"
"Okay, wait, yes, it-" Aemond squeezed her cheeks tighter.
"You're not sorry, niece. You liked the feeling of superiority, and do you want me to confess something?"
D rather not.
The fingers of his other hand slid over her face, down her neck, down her arm, the base of her breasts.
His hand was just everywhere and nowhere.
"I like it too. I could do anything to you now, sweet little niece and you wouldn't be able to fight back. I could do whatever I want and there's nothing you could do about it. You would be completely at my mercy."
Lucy's heart was pounding violently against her chest.
A tingling developed between her legs. What the hell?
She was sick. She couldn't believe his words aroused her. Not Aemond was the psychopath (ok, he still was) but her.
"How lucky for you that all I want is your pretty eye, niece," he whispered and his hot breath hit her lips.
With these words he released her and turned around.
He left her naked, wet and aroused.
Lucy was lost.
Lucy had no idea how to process last night's experience with Aemond.
He had left her in the shower in complete disarray and hadn't even looked at her this morning.
He had played with her and she had let herself be played with.
And as expected, he wanted her eye.
She would call her mother and make it clear to her that if she didn't rescue her from this hell, she would soon have no daughter.
"Next Monday we have our first school trip. As we want to welcome the new students to our school, the students who have been to this school for years will show the new students around," Mrs. Velaryon, the headmaster's wife and Lucy's grandmother looked down the rows.
She had brought several generations together.
"The new students, after I call their names, please step forward and pull a name from this bowl," she pointed to a glass bowl with white slips of paper, "and read their partner's name loud and clear. Each student has then been assigned a student who'll take care of them for the next few weeks."
What a cute idea.
Lucy wanted to throw up. She turned to Jacaerys, who winked at her. He knew his grandmother would do that shit.
If she was lucky, she would get her brother or cousins.
When her name was called, Lucy walked forward and gave her grandmother a wry smile.
She reached into the bowl and prayed to the gods that she would pull anyone but the one whose touch could still be felt on her skin.
Lucy opened the note and wanted to kill herself.
Surprising how many times she wanted to kill herself that week.
That had to be a joke. It could only be a joke.
She stared at the note in disbelief.
"Who did you get, Lucerya?" her grandmother asked.
Lucy looked up in shock at Aemond Targaryen, who gave her a satisfied smile. Apparently he was already imagining a hundred types of torture in which he could torment her undisturbed.
Killing seemed the only option now.
Self-harm was no solution but sometimes when it was about Aemond Targaryen and his lost eye, maybe it was.
LILIES & ROSES✩༶‧˚
GENRE + T/W: sfw, fluff. suggestive comment. WORD COUNT: 1.2k words. TAGS: boyfriend!gojo, satoru gojo x fem!oc. established couple. adoptedkiddos! megumi & tsumiki
SYNOPSIS: oc gojo girlfriend hates being woken up in the morning, but her unconventional family has a surprise for her. AUTHOR'S NOTE: happy mothers day to all the mamas out there! here's a quick little fic for oc gojo girlfriend and how much tsumiki, megumi, and satoru love her. REMINDER: if you want to imagine yourself in oc gojo girlfriend's character descriptions instead, please do!
"alright kiddos, here's the plan," satoru started a huddle in the middle of the living room with tsumiki and megumi. megumi rolled his eyes and sighed, he never liked to entertain anything satoru was thinking of. tsumiki had a big smile on her face and always followed along with whatever he said. "megumi is going to get flowers across the street and tsumiki is going to stay behind and start breakfa—"
"and what exactly are you going to do?" megumi glared at his white haired guardian.
"well, your brave and handsome caregiver is going to obviously be the one to wake up (y/n)." satoru said.
megumi, tsumiki, and satoru shuddered at the thought of having to be the one to wake you up from your slumber. if there was one thing they all knew in the household, it was not to wake you up from your sleep on your days off.
7 year old megumi held out his hand to satoru, "give me your credit card."
satoru scoffed in disbelief at how straightforward megumi could be. he sighed and pulled out his credit card as the 7 year old boy swiped it from his fingers with the swiftness.
megumi walked down to the flower shop across the street. he thought out how you and satoru had "adopted" him and tsumiki almost two years ago. you and satoru were still students at jujutsu high school. it was a huge adjustment as satoru and you were only 18 years old at the time, entering into your third year as sorcerers.
the flower shop owner smiled as megumi walked into the shop, "hi megumi, are you here to get some flowers for (y/n) for mother's day?"
megumi softly smiled, "how did you know?"
"oh, i had a feeling," the shop owner said.
little did megumi know, satoru gojo was a regular at this flower shop. mainly because he stopped here to buy you flowers whenever he made you upset.
"(y/n)'s favorite flowers are lilies," she recommended as megumi was looking at the huge bouquet of roses. "mr. gojo always gets her roses, but secretly her favorites are the lilies."
megumi turned to look at the beautiful white lilies. he had an idea.
"can i have a big bouquet with both lilies and roses?" megumi asked the shop owner. she smiled at him and nodded.
*************************************
at home, tsumiki was standing on a small step stool in front of the stove flipping pancakes in a cute pink frilly apron that satoru had bought for her. the kitchen smelled of bacon and coffee. at the ripe young age of 8, tsumiki was quite skilled in the kitchen. she hummed to herself as she set the pancakes onto four plates and started to crack eggs into a new clean frying pan.
"megumi and i like overeasy eggs... gojo-sensei likes scrambled... and (y/n) likes sunny side up..." tsumiki spoke softly to herself. the toaster popped up as she stepped to the side and took the four pieces of toast out. she returned back to watch her eggs.
"i'm home," megumi announced as he set the large bouquet of flowers on the dining table, "where's the idiot?"
"he's in the room with (y/n)!" tsumiki happily chirped.
the mutual agreement was knowing that the "idiot" in question was satoru gojo.
megumi took out a folded piece of paper from his backpack and handed it to tsumiki as she slid all the eggs into their respective plates, "here, sign it."
tsumiki opened the piece of paper to find a drawing of somewhat identifiable stick figures. she saw megumi with his dark blue hair, her with her brown ponytail, satoru with his sunglasses and white hair, and you with your long black hair and green eyes. underneath the family portrait was written in megumi's surprisingly neat penmanship, ‘happy mother’s day ’.
"awww megumi, this is so cute!" tsumiki gushed.
megumi brushed her off and said, "it's not a big deal, we had to make mother's day cards in my homeroom class".
*************************************
satoru gojo was risking it all today. he opened the bedroom door, the room was still dark as the blackout curtains haven't been opened. he quietly made his way to the window and quickly opened the curtains as you winced from the bright sunlight hitting your face. rule number one broken. (read ‘morning routine’ here)
you grabbed the duvet to cover your face, but was felt with resistance. satoru completely grabbed the duvet cover off of you and threw it on the other side of your shared king size bed. rule number two broken.
you kissed your teeth in annoyance and turned to face him, "satoru gojo, what do you think you're doing? are you asking for a death wish?"
satoru laughed, "come on, i have a surprise! wake up already." he leaned into the bed and grabbed your hand. you groaned in tired annoyance. he held up your body and pushed you into the bathroom to do your morning routine.
"this better be a good surprise." you threatened him.
"or what? you gonna spank me?" satoru retorted back at you.
*************************************
satoru led you into the kitchen with his hands over your eyes.
"surprise!" satoru, tsumiki, and megumi shouted in unison.
there was a delicious breakfast spread of pancakes, toast, eggs, bacon, fruits, and hashbrowns thanks to your wonderfully talented, adopted daughter. next to the table was a bouquet as big as megumi.
you pouted your lips as you looked at the smug three, "oh my gosh... is this all for me?"
"yes!" tsumiki yelled and ran to hug your leg.
"thank you, babygirl." you bent down to hug her as megumi slowly crept towards you with the bouquet that was just as big as him.
"these are you for you, (y/n)."
you grabbed the huge bouquet from the little boy, "how did you know my favorite flowers are lilies, megumi?"
"i thought you liked roses, babe?" satoru asked in confusion as he sat down in his assigned dining seat.
"every girl likes roses, but lilies are my favorite flowers... i guess megumi just listens to me." you teased your lover. megumi quickly stuck his tongue out at the white haired sorcerer.
"oh! one last thing (y/n)!" tsumiki ran to the kitchen counter to grab the card that megumi made. she gave it to you and you swear you almost cried.
"megumi, you made this in school? babe, look at this." you showed your boyfriend megumi's drawing of your little family of four. satoru had a huge grin on his face. megumi couldn't help but turn bright red in embarrassment.
"thank you, all of you." you grabbed satoru underneath his chin with your free hand and pulled him in for a kiss. megumi and tsumiki ran to your side to hug you as you kissed them on the top of their heads. satoru bringing home two children without letting you know was a very unconventional way of becoming a mother, but you wouldn’t want it any other way.
“happy mother’s day, babe.” satoru grinned at you.
EXTRA:
"hey megumi, how much did the flowers cost?" satoru questioned the blue haired child as he was reading a book on the couch.
"i don't know, like maybe $20?" megumi lied.
satoru glared at him, he knew he was lying. he logged into his bank account and saw the transaction from the shop.
"maybe $20? more like $200, you brat!" satoru barked back at him.
"who cares if it was $200? (y/n) likes it."
satoru stopped mid thought, the kid was right. as much as he and megumi butt heads, if there was one thing that they could agree on, it was their love for you.
I got reminded BBCs Merlin exists and that spiraled into remembering a bunch of other really, really shitty adaptations of Arthurian canon and now I'm mad so I'm going to list some true facts about it that should hopefully demonstrate why adding "gritty realism" to it pisses me off so much
-Morgan le Fay serves as a Rita Repulsa-esque figure who throws problems at Arthur. She is also a wholly separate person to Morgause, the mother of Mordred. Morgan le Fay is a badass sorceress who's only motivation for being a Saturday Morning Cartoon Villain(tm) is that Guinevere snubbed her in some way.
-It's full of Welsh folklore, especially regarding faeries, and initially started as a recounting of a bit of Welsh military history before people started adding their OCs to it. It then broke containment and spread across europe, especially during the renaissance.
-Loads of the knights have superpowers. Straight up superpowers. Gawain gets stronger (and in some sources, bigger) the higher the sun is in the sky. Kay has some sort of fire shit going on... It's great. People would add their own guys to the round table and give them Cool Powers because they could. Though mostly it was just super-strength. This fell out of favor as it was Christianized because people are COWARDS.
-Lancelot is a French guy's OC, and despite the whole thing being full of those, Lancelot is the most OC of them all (affectionate). The second most OC of the bunch is a dude known for his edgy coat that he always wore that belonged to his dead dad (I am not joking)
-Half of the dudes are described as 'the fairest' or 'the most handsome'. Some have the caveat of 'second only to Arthur'. I legit read a description of how handsome a random knight was that filled a full page once. This is hilarious.
-There's a knight called Bedivere (he whose name has no set spelling) and he's my favorite. He has a prosthetic hand, is head butler, and is the only bitch to survive the big last battle in retellings that I respect. He's also one half of a comedy duo with Kay, also in retellings that I respect. I am admittedly biased because I played him in a middle school production of a really bad adaptation of a knockoff spamalot
-People just fucking murder each other on accident all of the time to show off how STRONK they are. After jousting got added they started having the horses die when lance met shield which DOESN'T MAKE SENSE but is there to, once again, show how STRONK the knights are.
-More on the note of casting, but there are dark skinned people in the canon. Specifically Moors (which is old europe for muslim north-african people with dark skin, a term not really used anymore because it wasn't actually one ethnic group but several). MORE SPECIFICALLY there is one explicitly biracial knight who's the son of one of the other knights and a (and I quote) "Moorish Princess". His name is Morien because people have never been subtle and was one of the knights for whom the tales waxed poetic about how stronk and handsome he was.
-Saved the best for last but this all gave way to the an early historical examples of larping and possibly kinning. King Edward the Third loved a knight named 'Sir Lionel' so much to the point where he'd hold big round table tourneys where everyone would larp as different characters from Arthurian legend (himself always being Lionel) and even named his son after him. The kicker? Lionel doesn't actually have that much in the way of story. He has like one story to himself and is functionally a sidekick in every other appearance I can find. King Eddy 3 had a Blorbo.
All of this to say that Arthurian canon is lovely and goofy and if I see someone make Morgan le Fay into Mordred's mom again I will spew fire and rain hot, bloody terror from the skies. I also think we should start adding OCs to it again and nobody can stop us.
#long post#i just love this shit so much#i didn't even get into the goofiness that is merlin#text post#queue#king arthur#arthurian legend#arthurian mythology
fandom: haikyuu ship: nishinoya yuu x oc/reader status: complete ao3 link
"I think you're really pretty. Will you go out with me?" That was the first thing he's ever said to her. And needless to say, Amari Chiyo was not impressed. So as promised, Nishinoya Yuu will get to know her better and confess again. And again. And again. And again. It'll take 6 years and 9 confessions, but he'll get there. Eventually.
⌦ content: fluff, light angst, love at first sight, friends to lover, slice of life
⌦ note: you are free to insert yourself into Chiyo, just keep in mind she has her own character/backstory. i know some people don't like that, so just a heads-up.
The fifth time he confessed was a little less than a year later — a few months into their first year of high school.
After a few grueling months of study sessions and a little bit of luck, Nishinoya barely managed to scrape by on the entrance exams. They went to the results board together on that cold winter day, along with Hotaru and Kaito. Neither of the kids were surprised to see Chiyo’s number there, but when Kaito somehow caught Nishinoya’s exam number on the bottom right while perched on his shoulders, they celebrated with so much enthusiasm Kaito nearly lost his balance and fell off.
So when April rolled around, Nishinoya and Chiyo were once again attending the same school. Though with Chiyo’s better grades, she ended up in Class 1-4 – a college preparatory class – while Nishinoya was put in Class 1-2.
The day club applications began, Nishinoya immediately joined the volleyball club. He encouraged Chiyo to join a club of her own or even run to become a class rep again like she had in middle school, but she refused.
Instead, she put all her energy into applying for a part-time job. She was hired at a small media and repair store near school, run by a little old lady and her grumpy calico cat. They sold all kinds of electronics, from old VHS tapes to the newest gaming consoles. They also had a huge catalog of DVDs that the old lady often insisted Chiyo borrow for the week to watch on her own.
Despite the two of them being in different classes and volleyball practice running longer than they did in middle school, Nishinoya’s visits never stopped. He’d drop by after a quick text, eat dinner, do homework, play some volleyball with Kaito, watch a movie then head home for the night. He became such a regular presence that even Chiyo’s father, who was rarely home due to his busy schedule, knew his name and often included his portion whenever he brought back desserts for the kids.
Chiyo would scold him, telling Nishinoya to go home to rest and that his body must be tired after a long day of volleyball and school. To which Nishinoya would simply remind her that he had to return the lunch box she brought him. Something Chiyo started doing after she found out Nishinoya often only bought banana bread for lunch from the school store.
And that day, Chiyo was on her way to the gym as usual. She preferred to deliver his lunch in the mornings, right after she got to school. Like that, she wouldn’t have to spend her lunch time trying to track him down between the classroom, the gym, or the vending machine.
As she climbed the staircase, she could hear the sharp screeches of sneakers scraping against the gym floor. Despite not being a powerhouse school, Karasuno seemed to take volleyball pretty seriously.
“Nishi-”
“Kiyoko-san!” Before she could call out to him, the sound of two boys’ boisterous voices interrupted her. She instinctively hid around the corner so as not to bother them. It took a second before it registered in her head that one of the two voices belonged to Nishinoya.
“Kiyoko-san, do you need any help carrying anything?” Someone asked.
“Kiyoko-san, you look beautiful as always today!” Nishinoya shouted.
“No thanks.”
Chiyo felt her heart drop.
She snapped her head around in time to see Nishinoya and a boy with short, fuzzy blond hair run up to a girl just as she entered the gym from the back door. He wasn’t kidding. With shoulder-length black hair and large black eyes, the girl had an air of adult maturity to her, someone who was stoic and passionate yet aloof with their intentions.
Suddenly, the name Kiyoko jogged her memory. Nishinoya had mentioned her during dinner a few months back when he told her all about the club. Her name was Shimizu Kiyoko and she was their one and only manager.
He spoke highly about her, going on and on about how pretty and responsible she was. But Chiyo had always sort of disregarded his comments. After all, Nishinoya did the same thing with a character in their old literature textbook. But seeing him fawn over another girl, a real one at that, made Chiyo’s heart clench with an emotion she couldn’t quite put her finger on.
“Guys, stop bothering- Oh!” An upperclassman with short brown hair approached the gym from behind her. “Hey, are you looking for someone?”
Chiyo blinked. “Um, I’m looking for Nishinoya. I have his lunch.”
“Nishinoya!”
“What is it, Daichi-san, ah!” Nishinoya’s eyes lit up upon seeing her. “Amari!”
As he began to make his way over, Chiyo suddenly felt the urge to run. There was a sinking feeling in the pit of her stomach and in the moment, she wanted to be anywhere but there. But she still had his lunch in hand, and there was a part of her that stubbornly wanted to complete the delivery.
“Here,” she shoved the neatly-packed boxed lunch in his hands, not even bothering to make eye contact. “It’s leftovers from last night, so don’t expect too much.”
“I’m sure it’s delicious,” Nishinoya took the box and grinned. “Thanks as always!”
“Noya-san, this girl’s always bringing lunch for you. What’s up with that?” At this point, the boy with blond hair began to approach them. His eyes then widened as an idea dawned on him. “Wait, don’t tell me she’s your girlfriend or something?!”
“She’s-”
“No, I’m not!” Before Nishinoya could respond, Chiyo cut him off perhaps a bit too loudly. “I’m just his middle school classmate. I’m only making him lunch 'cause if I don’t he’s just gonna end up buying banana bread for lunch and be short forever.”
“Excuse me?!”
“You have your lunch now, right?” Meeting Nishinoya’s offended look with a sharp one of her own, Chiyo quickly turned on her heel. “I’m leaving. Bye!”
She walked briskly away, feeling more and more breathless the further away she got from the gym. She wanted to outrun it all, the sound of her beating heart, the emotions that bubbled in her chest and the hot tears that pricked at her eyes. When she saw Kiyoko, all she could think about was the day he first confessed to her under the cherry blossoms nearly three years ago. She had warned him that he would lose interest overtime. But when faced with reality, she felt like she was the one who lost something.
Her steps slowed as she reached her classroom. It then occurred to her that this wasn’t anything new. Nishinoya has been fawning over other girls for as long as she’s known him. And thinking back on it, the only reason he gave for confessing to her initially was because she was pretty, nothing more.
A classmate opened the door, cocking her head curiously at Chiyo who stared up at their classroom tag in a daze.
“Amari-san? What’s wrong?”
Chiyo looked at her.
“Boys are stupid.”
After her shift at the media store that evening, Chiyo was surprised to find Nishinoya waiting outside with two soda-flavored popsicles.
She initially thought that he wouldn’t want to speak to her for at least a good while, after how strangely she behaved in front of his teammates. But to her surprise, he simply gave her his usual greeting and smile before tossing the extra popsicle in her direction.
“Come on, let’s go home.”
“Oh, okay…”
As they set off, Nishinoya tore his popsicle packet open and began chomping down. Chiyo watched him, fidgeting at the sound of crinkling plastic.
“Hey, Nishinoya,” she swallowed hard. “I’m sorry about what I said today.”
He gave her a confused look. “What are you talking about?”
“Well, I… I called you short in front of the entire volleyball team,” she murmured, still refusing to make eye contact. “I didn’t mean it. I was just in a bad mood and I… I’m just really sorry.”
"Oh, what, that?" Nishinoya scoffed. "Don't sweat it, it's whatever. Kaito's been calling me that for like a year."
“Kaito’s still young,” Chiyo shook her head. “But I… should’ve known better than to make petty remarks like that.”
“Like I said, don’t worry about it,” he waved a hand before quickly finishing his popsicle in two bites and checking the stick. “Dang, another dud.”
Chiyo’s lips quirked up a little before falling. “So Shimizu-senpai, huh?” She opened her popsicle packet. “She’s really pretty.”
“Wait, you know Kiyoko-san?!”
Nishinoya sounded so excited and Chiyo felt a lump forming in her throat. “I saw her when I dropped off lunch for you today.”
“That’s right, that’s right,” he tossed the wooden stick into a public trash can. “Yeah, she’s super pretty, isn’t she? A literal goddess. I heard she’s been the club manager since last year.”
Chiyo nodded before averting her eyes, pretending to admire the street view she’s seen more than a hundred times already. “Well, I better not hear any more of your random confessions from now on,” she said half-jokingly.
“Huh, what are you talking about?” Nishinoya stopped walking. “I still like you, Amari.”
Chiyo nearly dropped her popsicle. She turned to look him in the eye.
He was dead serious.
“Why would you say something like that?” She snapped, immediately losing all composure.
Nishinoya cocked his head to the side. “Because it’s true.”
“What do you mean ‘because it’s true’?” Chiyo’s eyes widened with exasperation. “You were literally just gushing about how pretty Shimizu-senpai is. Don’t tell me you’re like one of those sleaze bags in shoujo manga that’ll flirt with anyone you find even mildly pretty.”
“What? No! I mean yeah, Kiyoko-san is pretty and all. But,” he then thumped his chest with a confident smile. “In the end, my heart will always belong to you.”
Her lips parted slightly.
“Don’t say stuff like that, you idiot!” Those were the first words she found herself able to say. “You idiot. You’re such an idiot! The biggest idiot that’s ever existed in the history of idiots!”
“I’m not an idiot!”
“Yes, you are! You’re a shallow, stupid idiot!” Chiyo shouted back, trying to ignore the sore feeling in her nose. “You can’t tell me you don’t have even a little bit of a crush on her. I saw you and that blond kid trying to get all cozy with her. You even call her by her first name even though you’ve only known her for like, what? Two months?”
“Amari, I-”
“I’m completely fine with being friends with you, Nishinoya,” she cut him off, trying her best to avoid his pointed gaze. “I just… I don’t want to date someone who only wants to get to know me half-heartedly.”
Nishinoya rubbed his forehead, eyes flickering up to glance at the setting sun. Taking a deep breath, he then gingerly took her hand and pried her fingers off the hem of her jacket sleeve.
“Look, Amari,” he spoke as softly as he could. “Kiyoko-san to me is more like… a goddess. Someone you put on a pedestal and admire, but still way outta your reach. But when I’m around you, I feel… way more comfortable. Like when I get to see you at home cooking dinner, not giving a damn about your hair, and getting mad at us, I get really happy. Cause it feels like a side to you that only I get to see.”
He looked up to see Chiyo’s dark blue eyes glassy with what seemed to be tears.
He mentally cursed himself.
“I get what you mean though,” he gave an awkward chuckle. “I mean I literally asked you out the day we met without knowing anything about you. But I promised to get to know you better, and you know…” there was a faint tug at his lips. “The more I get to know you, the more I like you. So trust me. I’d never ask you out with anything other than pure intentions, m’kay?”
Chiyo felt her heart stop as he smiled at her. Her breath was caught in her throat, and when she reminded herself to breathe again, her heartbeat became so erratic she was sure the entire prefecture could hear it.
“Y-You idiot!” Those were the only words that came out when she found her voice again.
“Wha-?” Nishinoya looked genuinely confused. “Why am I still an idiot?”
“Because you just are!” Chiyo turned away, biting down on her popsicle in a feeble attempt to stop the rising heat in her cheeks. She couldn’t understand how he could say something so cringey with a straight face. She then peeked over her shoulder, watching as Nishinoya became lost in thought, wondering exactly what he said that made him an idiot.
“But… Do what you want, I guess,” she murmured just loud enough for him to hear.
Nishinoya’s eyes lit up.
“You got it!”
After that little kerfuffle, the two of them continued on their way home under the setting sun when Nishinoya spoke again.
“But you know, if you wanted me to call you by your first name, you could’ve just asked.”
Chiyo averted her gaze. “When did I ever say that?”
“You got all jealous over how I call Kiyoko-san by her name,” he reminded her with a mischievous grin. “Come on, I’ll start calling you by your first name too.”
“I wasn’t jealous,” she grumbled.
“Come on, Chiyo.” Ignoring her obviously false remark, Nishnoya poked her arm. “Say it. Yuu~”
Chiyo’s eyes wandered from their surroundings to Nishinoya to her feet. She pressed her lips together, struggling for a moment to find her voice.
“Y-Yuu…” Her voice was barely a whisper.
Satisfied, Nishinoya smiled. “I like you, Chiyo.”
Growing feelings (cross posted on ao3)
AUTHOR NOTES: UHM so I’m not really a writer, apologies if my writing is subpar… also this is extremely self indulgent as the reader is heavily based off me. But I kept it vauge so u can insert yourself, or your ocs, or just read it for the plot I dunno… (no beta read) university au, uh yeah!!!!
You’ve become infatuated with a special someone from your game development class, full marionette dupencheng style.
Tomura Shigaraki carries himself in a rather grim manner. All black, slouched and a depressed deadpan face, the only semblance of color being his long light blue hair, his vibrant red eyes and sneakers. He isn’t conventionally attractive, your friends remind you of that every time they see him. But, that doesn’t stop you from thinking he’s the most divine being in the world, he’s beautiful, he’s hot and cute. God, you could stare at him for hours and not get bored. God you sound like a creep.
You don’t know how it got here, you swear. It started off innocent, accidentally making eye contact with him in class; you never really cared about him before hand, you didn’t care about anyone but, your friends. You weren’t a party person, and you lacked a social life- at least according to some of your acquaintances. But, you didn’t care, you were just trying to make it through college.
But that day, that moment where your eyes met… his face- god it was so beautiful-there was this ethereal look of cluelessness on his face as you two losers awkwardly stared at each other after making eye contact, one you wish you could see again. suddenly you became hyper aware of him, you started paying attention to him and his ticks, you noticed how he scratched his neck when he was unpleased. That despite playing games in the middle of lectures he still got straight A’s. Oh- and that he usually holds stuff with his pinky finger lifted. He’s so just so cute.
God you feel like a stalker. You keep staring and him and you’re pretty sure he’s caught on, because you’re so obvious, first thing you do when you enter class is scan the room for him and once you find him you stare at him for most of class. He’s just pure eye candy.
God your so pathetic, you’re such a loser, you wish you had the balls to ask him out or something but you’re to scared. But alas, you’re content with admiring him from a distance, it’s not like someone like him could be into a loser like you. Despite the two of you being “perfect losers for each other” according to one of your lower class men, Bakugo.
With a dramatic sigh you pull your gaze away from Shigaraki and aim it towards your friend next to you. He grins at you, his grey eyes scrunching, clearly amused at the way you so obnoxiously stare at tomura.
Hari Kurono. you first met as kids, you would play together before he moved back to Japan. Then in high school he came back to your home country. There, you established a long lasting friendship with him and Kai (chisaki). Kai pestered you regarding college, he wanted you to go to college in Japan alongside him and kurono.
“It’d be reassuring to have you with me”, he said. You surprisingly made it into a rather notable school in Japan. Thinking back, that may have been a result of kai's interference. While he wasn't rich, (it’s complicated), his family name had alot of respect, it’s not unlikely that he had one of his pops recommend you to the school.
Despite not seeming like it, kurono would do anything for his (two) friends. He’s very loyal, you’re not sure why he’s even taking this class, it’s likely that he’s doing this to be alongside, and support you- like how he’s taking medical classes to be alongside Kai. You’re pretty sure if you and or Kai jumped off a roof he would follow along without hesitation.
“You’ll never get close to him if you don’t take action” he advises, and you frown.
“I can’t- im just, too… scared” you sigh and try to defend your cowardly demeanor. He’s right though, you can’t keep hiding forever, you open your mouth to speak- but cant find words. In your peripheral vision you see your professor Shuffling, its near the end of lecture and he opens his mouth to speak.
“Alright so, I’ve given you guys a while to prepare for the project. As you know I’m sorting you into groups, so check the PDF file i posted to see your groupmates, for the next.." he checks his wrist watch, “12 minutes of classs I’ll give you a breakdown of the project and how it works".
You open the pdf file. Scrolling down for your name, your face lights up and a gasp emits from your mouth when you see your name beside "shigaraki tomura".
“I’ve already given you guys a bit of the details beforehand, for the next 4 weeks you guys will make a little game, based on the given prompt, ‘growing things’, clear enough to have a sense of directions, but vauge enough to make up your own idea. Growing things doesn’t have to be literal like plants, it can be anything.”
Your going to spend he next MONTH with him. Its likethe gods have bleased you personally. You read further and see kurono's name along with "Iguchi Shuichi". you've talked to him in passing, while he is somewhat demure, hes cloying, in a way you cant seem to describe.
You and kurono bathe in Felicity at being Grouped together, you even more because of shigaraki. You glance over at shigaraki, your eyes meeting. You quickly look away, flustered at being caught, but your delusional ass is overthinking it. He was looking at you. Or did he just so happen to lock eyes with yours? Or did he look for you after finding out your in his group? Does he know who you are? Do you want him know who you are? Whats his first impression of you. oh my god. Do you approach him after class?- or do you have kurono do it? How do you wanna act around him? Cool? Bubbly? Outgoing? Smart? Natural? Whats natural? GOD-
Kurono places his hand on your shoulder, pulling you out of your trance. The shuffling of students talking and walking out of class becoming audible.
"Lets go find our group" with that, the two of you get out of your seats to hunt down your groupmates.
Fortunately Iguchi has already approached shigaraki, making the group complete.
The 4 of you are silent for a while, before kurono takes the lead and asks for group input.
"Whats your guys’ number? Here, I’ll make a group chat”he hands them a peice of paper. “Are you two free at the moment?”they nod, “Where would you guys like to work on the project? I already have an idea, im sure they have some aswell" he says, pointing towards you. “I’d recommend a place were we could talk, or if you’d like I can rent a study room.”
Iguchi nods, “I’m fine with the study room”
The 3 of you turn to shigaraki, and he nods in response.
On the way to the study room, you can’t help but sneak glances at shigaraki. Iguchi strikes a conversation.
What idea were you two thinking of?”
“I was thinking a relationship, perhaps of a doctor struggling to balance her job and her romantic relationships.” Kurono responds, it’s obvious that he has Kai in mind.
You chime in, “oh! How about her growing resentment for something?” You’re pleased with the ideas you are coming up with on the spot, you begin to ramble “Maybe like her job? Like she questions the morals of her job and grows resentment for it? What if she was a prison doctor or worked in a lab for chemical warfare? Oh! What if the game took place in a war? What if after she meets her demise the world ‘grows into a better place?’ Symbolized by literal plants growing?” You shut yourself up, looking away embarrassed by your tangent.
You miss how both iguchi and Shigaraki eyes widen at your ideas.
“Holy shit those are some good ideas, you’re awesome”. You’re even more embarrassed at iguchi’s praise. “We only have a month so we can’t make the game too big, and we’ve gotta work quick, but hey if this was continued into something bigger, I’d interested in playing and developing it!”.
You make your way to the study room, your peers unpacking their items.
“So what’s the premise gonna be? Do we all like ____’s idea?” Kurono asks while typing into his laptop.
“I like the prison doctor idea, I wanna add on. What if one of the inmates ‘grows’ into a better person. It can show how different things can grow, the doctors hatred, and the inmates rehabilitation! I really like the war idea, though I think it would be a bit too unrealistic, I don’t think any of us knows how it works enough to make it not sound stupid.” Iguchi adds his input, turning to Shigaraki he asks, “what do you think shigaraki?”
“Yeah… I like that.”
“Alright it’s settled then, I think it would be nice for the game to switch perspectives. We should start on the characters and then build their development around that. I think it would be nice for both of them to parallel each other, for the doctor to care about her grandfather, and for the inmate to care about his granddaughter.” Kurono inserts himself back into the conversation.
“Oh yeah! Two ideas! What if the doctors grandfather to be dead and the inmates granddaughter also dead, what if they find comfort in eachother? Or what if the inmate is in prison for killing the doctors grandfather, while also being a grandfather.”
“The second one is better, it has more opportunity for the doctor to grow resentment, giving the inmate a reason to feel remorse after being in the face of his victims granddaughter, knowing how much he values his own”
“Dope!” Iguchi is scrambling on a piece of paper he somehow pulled out during the conversation.
“For character design I recommend we hand that to _____. They’ve got a knack for art. The rest of us can work on the writing”
“Really? That’s dope! Should we make a soundtrack or is that too much?”
“It depends on the workload of the game, we could decide that later”
The rest of the session was led by kurono and Iguchi as expected with you and shigaraki only speaking when spoken to. You tried to avoid staring at shigaraki, staring at him in class was one thing, but it would become even more obvious in a group of 4. Kai joined you two on your expedition back to the dorms, You were listening to music on the way back, your eyes darting to kurono after he sighed.
“This was a perfect opportunity to talk to him,”
You frown, “I dunno it was awkward, especially when I rambled. Do you think he thinks I’m weird?”
“No he doesn’t, and he shouldn’t” Kai cuts in.
“That’s what I’m saying, the two of them are awkward, he probably empathizes with her, or doesn’t care. Likely the ladder, how about this?-“ he turns her head at you. “You text the group chat asking when we should meet next, nothing big, but you would get a response from him”. You nod, pulling out your phone. His reasoning making you feel comfortable. You quickly scramble to type the message. Before you hit send you feel a wave of pusillanimity rush over you, before turning to kurono asking him to check your message, he makes assures you it’s fine, and you hit send.
