Vienna 1989/90 giving me that tasty Tuggoffelees juice at the end of Mistoffelees' number. Love how Misto just spins Tugger away. It also actually reminds me a lot of a very similar duo spin dance at the end of this number that happens in Zurich with Lindsay Chambers' Misto, but instead it's with Munkustrap rather than Tugger.

And in Zurich's case, well, let's say that this Misto has a very different experience to Valentin's (who reminds me a lot of Tim Scott's Misto, especially with the makeup), and Munk is more showing he has accepted him fully.

@absolutehumandisaster - hope you don't mind me tagging you as I feel you'd be interested in my "little" tag ramble/thoughts on Valentin's vs Chambers' Mistos and how Valentin's is Chambers' Misto once he is fully accepted and has grown exponentially in confidence by the next Jellicle Ball.

#period clothing + modern items never fails to make me laugh #stalag bucky and gale enjoying some starbucks is iconic FRRR #masters of the air #bucky egan #gale cleven #I need an AU where they take the tunnel in the stalag but it’s actually a wormhole to modern day #and they stumble out into the set of MoTA #and everyone is like Wow they are really staying in character #meanwhile they are desperately trying to figure out where the hell they are and why the B-17’s won’t start up #bonus points for agony when bucky and gale slowly realize that by swapping places with two actors named callum and austin #they’ve basically left two guys in the stalag who don’t have the skills to survive in there #and when barry makes references to funny stories that never happened with Bucky he realized that it’s not his life to live #and that he needs to give his place back to callum #and so despite making it out of the stalag Bucky and Gale agree to go back #sacrificing their freedom so that two strangers they’ve never met (callum and austin) can have their lives back #and holding hands they head back into hell

People who know me know I love Blackwall like air but watching back some videos mama how did I get past that voice acting? The constant downward inflection at the end of every single line? It’s literally setting my teeth on edge I cannot stand it!

(Also I don’t even blame the performers it is SO easy to slip into this if you don’t have consistent direction in play and uh I don’t think BioWare are particularly consistent in that area)

#thank god he’s written so well and the actor has such a nice tone because wow #we were so spoiled in bg3 with the acting for REAL #everybody is excellent

finally caught up a wee bit with dr who, i skipped the babies one cos it sounded terrible, went with the music episode.

good things: i like the doctor and the baddy was fun and clarose (i forgot her name twice now) is fine. also a very good episode for reaction images:

less good: i think i made a few of those faces myself while watching. what i assume was foreshadowing was pretty bad (had someone decided "one word repeated every episode" wasn't enough?). i am not sure why the doctor knew exactly what was happening, i don't mind that as an occasional plot device (they do know pretty much everything, after all) but it felt over done in this. why was there a music battle? why was there a song? WHY IS MURRAY GOLD BACK, HAD WE NOT AT LAST BANISHED HIM?

I looked up the age of the child actors for young Xiao Lanhua (Xiyun) and Dongfang Qingcang because I thought that would be indicative of what their canon ages at the time should be.

Xiao Lanhua’s was eleven when the show filmed, which yeah that tracks. I always imagined her as 10-11 when she was sealed away.

But bb DFQC’s was also eleven, and wow if that isn’t the most excruciating thing I’ve ever heard. Eleven!! When he survived endless torture and was forced to kill his own father!! When he was put on the throne. He wasn’t even a preteen yet. I hate it so much.

#love between fairy and devil #I know it isn’t like ‘wow explicitly canon he’s eleven now’ but I assume they meant him to be in an age range of a couple years max #otherwise they would have cast differently #also we have no idea how immortals age so both of them may technically have been older #but that was their physical and mental age #bb DFQC has two actors #one plays him when he’s even younger #but this is the one that plays him when everything goes down #this isn’t to demean what XLH also went through #she watched everyone she knew and loved get murdered #but because her memory was wiped until she was reborn it didn’t really shape her #now she has to live with it though and man…#like she has memories of a family now which I’m sure she loves #but she also has… that
