If you're upset by his behavior that's a you problem Goku's just doing Goku #He's only upset when Other People get hurt because 2) almost none of those negative qualities contain any malice whatsoever #even as a kid when he was 'i killed that guy' it was like 'i solved a problem why are you mad (gen)' not 'good fucking riddance lol'#and he kept that as an adult too even when he learned more about compassion he's still 'well if you're not gonna stop i have to kill you'#it's never 'fuck off and die' it's always 'listen buddy either you knock it off or i knock you out there is no option c '#and god i love that Goku. I spent so long thinking I hated Goku growing up but I only hated Toei's Goku. NOW.#i will go first #verlaine bc he is meant to resemble 22chuuya but retains a relatively lighter créme color palette in contrast to chuuyas black mafia attire #which is deeply intriguing bc we know verlaine is one of stormbringer's main villains #to be portrayed in lighter colors--typically characteristic of the “good side” or divinity--while being the villain is interesting #this is reminiscent of verlaine's character and perspective towards chuuya #he believes he is an angel. a savior. offering grace towards chuuya by making him accept that he isn't human #when in reality he stands for everything chuuya does NOT want to become. alienated from his humanity and hateful towards humans #ANYWAY on a surface level it also represents him serving as chuuya's narrative foil. black and white. yin and yang #“in kindness there's evil” chuuya and “in evil there is kindness” verlaine #and they balance each other out that way #ANYWAY OMOMOMG LOTUS SHUT UP ABT STORMBRINGER CHALLENGE HAHAHAHAHAH ANYWAY #let's hear it guys #bsd

today i saw the new adaptation of the Count of Monte Cristo and it Slaps. Hard. Pierre Niney slays the boots down in this role. yes the acting is pompous. yes the dialogues are grandiloquent and super cheesy. yes the plot has been reworked in a kinda "casa de papel" "ocean's 11" thriller way. yes some of it is ridiculous. AND it's so much FUN !!!!!!

bonus:

laurent lafitte is extremely good (as always) as was pierfrancesco favino as faria who was just the absolute best.

the scenery is gorgeous (c'est marseille bébé)

the only thing i'm meh about is the absolute absence of any poc in any roles even though some of the characters were def written as such by dumas (like the casting of a romanian actress for an arab role ?) / also some period-typical misogyny, orientalism and racism which was kinda expected but still was a bit much.

Clearly your intuition that maybe the sinners didn't all deserve to be killed were correct. She's nicer than a lot of people in heaven-WHAT DO YOU MEAN THIS PRECIOUS BEAN IS LUCIFER'S DAUGHTER???

clearly heaven was wrong about a lot of things, so if the big bad lucifer has a daughter this sweet, maybe something is up with him???

And then you meet him, and like, meeting your partner's parents is already nerve wracking and this is supposed to be THE king of hell, THE fallen angel, THE GUY THAT HEAVEN FEARS and the first thing he does is completely flub his words out of excitement, mispronounces your name, hugs you and calls you pretty???

like how weird is that to process????

Dean is right, angels are dicks. And hilariously he only agrees with them when they're on his side, which is funny. Sam can't catch a break. And I think perhaps his fatal flaw to the angels is he doesn't follow orders, and since he's not in the position of power they're placing Dean in, Sam really should be following orders.

People need to start understanding the difference between actually harmful or "bad rep" vs just rough around the edges but still complex and nuanced rep that doesn't quite line up with your own personal experiences or the over-sanitized ideal of what you think "good rep" should be

#just saw someone in their headcanon post say they know it would be bad rep if this certain character actually had this disorder #but that's just it! it really wouldn't! if anything it'd be a really realistic portrayal of the effects without making it a big deal #or villainizing the disorder itself #like yes this particular character has done bad things but never was it implied to be because of those symptoms #he's a very detailed and complex character beyond that and etc etc.#same show gets a lot of bad rap for supposed “bad rep” that i've seen more people connect and relate to and fall in love with more than any #other cause it's not sanitized it's allowed to be messy + real + reflect experiences people usually never get to see authentically portraye #and sometimes that means it's gonna be rough #but anyway #like it's the difference between purposefully perpetuating a dangerous stereotype #vs wanting every “diverse” character to be a perfect cookoe cutter angel who can do no wrong and never gets deeper than a kiddie pool #books #movies #media #tv shows #media literacy

Lowkey, I wish Vox had answered Valentino when he asked him which gun made him look sexier. He didn’t even need to verbally do it, he could’ve just pointed and I would’ve been satisfied.

It just tickles me that he’d care enough to pick - and finds the imagery of Val with a gun attractive enough to have a preference, period - while also still completely vetoing Valentino’s whole plan to storm the Hotel (or whatever the fuck his dumb ass thought he was gonna do).

EDIT: Here’s the picture for reference; and also the answer is obviously the bigger one because it matches his wings (not that I necessarily find Val sexy, but still).
