Happy holidays! Dealers choice?
a continuation of 1
The young Lord de Bois returns with the same uptight lord as before and a young dark skinned man who’s grinning like this is the funniest thing he’s ever seen. They disappear into the blacksmith’s home along with several other men and Mrs. Cole, who’s husband’s been dead for thirty years and who apparently remembers a time two lords past when things were handled differently.
They don’t emerge for the rest of the day, candles bright in the cracks of the shutters to show that they’re working through the night. It’s almost noon the next morning when the village assembles to hear what’s been decided
Merlin still isn’t allowed to look, but he sneaks glances anyway. He wishes he could get a better look at Lord de Bois, but there are several people in his way, almost deliberately keeping him from view. He wonders what his mother promised them to get them to do that.
“My father,” Lord de Bois sighs, “has decided that if I’m old enough to complain about how things are handled then I’m old enough to handle them myself. Ealdor is now under my purview and authority, which means we’re going to have to turn a profit here if it kills me.”
Great. How does he expect to do that here? He might as well just execute people now if he’s planning on starving them slowly. He’d seemed to know better, before, but now that it’s his neck on the line he’s apparently a lot less sympathetic.
“And it might,” says a new voice, probably the dark skinned man Lord de Bois has brought along.
“Shut up, Elyan,” Lord de Bois says, just for a moment reminding Merlin that they’re nearly the same age. “We’ve worked up a new plan for mining for ore and replanting the fields – the soil’s exhausted and it’s all too far from the river. We’re going to have to set up an irrigation system as well.”
They know that. They’ve always known that. It’s just that there’s nothing to be done about when the time lost to start again would mean they lose out on a whole season of crops, since the ground is too cold to do much of anything in the winter and they don’t have the people do any of that and get food in and out of the ground.
There’s stirrings of discontent and it’s Will, of course, who shouts, “Who’s going to be doing all that? We need to eat ourselves, not waste time feeding you too!”
“You little,” hisses the lord from before and there’s again the sound of a sword being drawn.
“Enough, Gregory,” Lord se Bois snaps before addressing them. “Unfortunately, I am now required to put my money where my mouth is. I’ll be covering your taxes this year to the king and providing grain to make up for the lost food while we work out these changes. Your debt now is not to the king, but to me. I’ll be coming back frequently to check on your progress.”
Merlin pinches himself, sure he’s dreaming. Who does this? It’s crazy. It’s ridiculous.
It might actually work.
“You can’t just let them take and get nothing in return,” Gregory says angrily. “Don’t be stupid about this.”
“Too late for that,” Elyan says. “Why don’t you take someone to work at the castle? Their wages can be put to the town’s debt.”
Lord de Bois sighs. “Why would I take someone useful from here when I’m trying to get all this done?”
“Take someone useless, then,” Elyan suggests.
Oh no.
“Alright then. Who here is useless?” he calls out, clearly mocking.
Merlin’s ears burn as he feels the weight of far too many people’s gazes. It’s not his fault! His magic just makes things – complicated.
“Wow,” Lord de Bois says, laughter running through his voice. “Move aside then. Show me this useless person.”
His mother tenses at his side as people shift and then Merlin is staring down at a pair leather boots that are probably worth more than everything he’s ever touched combined.
“Who’re you, then?”
He’s not supposed to move or speak or look at anyone, but surely his mother can’t expect him to ignore a lord. “Merlin.”
“Look at me when I’m speaking to you, Merlin.” He snaps his head up and is immediately caught up in the brightest blue eyes he’s ever seen. “Are you useless?”
His face burns and he shrugs.
“He’s young, my lord,” his mother says carefully, and Merlin can’t help but feel guilty over the way her voice wavers.
Lord de Bois’s face softens. “You’re his mother, then?”
She dips into a curtsy. “Hunith, if it pleases my lord.”
“Hunith,” he says, “don’t worry. He’ll be fine at the castle. Being my servant isn’t that difficult.”
His what?
“Your servant?” Gregory sputters. “Every time your uncle assigns you one, you fire them for incompetence!”
“Well,” Lord de Bois says, “then he’ll at least be in good company.”
Elyan walks over and claps Merlin in the arm hard enough that he stumbles. “Good luck.”
Lord de Bois rolls his eyes and Merlin considers how his he should really be careful what he wishes for.
He’s going to get plenty of chances to look at Lord de Bois, apparently.
~
His mother lectures him over and over again about keeping his magic to himself, about how they’ll try and control him and abuse him and turn it into something terrible and dangerous if they know what he can do. He really can’t do much of anything, but he nods and agrees and lets her kiss his face.
They don’t have a horse to spare, so he rides with Elyan. Gregory takes the lead, angrily muttering to himself the whole time and Elyan leans over and whispers to Lord de Bois, “We could just make him walk back. He might run out of steam by then.”
“We’re not going to get that lucky,” he sighs.
The ride is shorter than Merlin had feared, which is good because he’s not used to riding. They enter the city just after nightfall and they pull the gates open as soon as they catch sigh of them. Several people brighten and wave when they see Elyan and Lord de Bois, although they duck away from Gregory.
There’s an actual castle. Merlin is being taken to a real castle. It feels fake and he’s walking inside one.
“ARTHUR!” a high pitched, childish voice yells out as the sound of small feet come running.
“Excuse me, my lord,” Gregory says, beating a hasty retreat.
“Is he running from a little girl?” Merlin asks, too surprised to keep silent like he’s supposed to.
“She doesn’t put up with him like we do,” Elyan answers.
What?
“Arthur! You’re back!” shouts a girl who can’t be older than six with brown eyes and curly brown hair.
Lord de Bois scoops her up in his arms. “I told you I would be.”
“You lie,” she says promptly, wrapping her arms around his neck. Merlin finds himself pinned by her narrowed eyes and understands Gregory a little better. “Who’s this?”
Lord de Bois – Arthur, apparently, since now there’s more than one Lord de Bois to keep track of – says, “This is Merlin. He’s going to be my servant. Merlin, this is my cousin, Amabel de Bois.”
Before Merlin can figure out how to greet a child lady, she says, “Hi Merlin. I’m a witch.”
Uh.
Arthur rolls his eyes. “Stop telling people that.” Merlin relaxes. “You’re going to be a sorceress, but only if you study very hard and listen to your mother. You don’t think she became a high priestess without listening to her tutors, do you?”
Merlin tries very hard to not make any sort of expression at all.
“Yes,” Amabel says promptly.
Arthur makes a face. “Well, maybe, I wouldn’t put it past her, but you have to listen. You haven’t even stabbed any of them with a sword, I don’t know why you’re going through so many.”
“She lit the last one on fire,” Elyan says. “Honestly, between the two of you it’s a shock that any of them are willing to step foot in the castle.”
He shrugs. “Well, my aunt and uncle are very scary. Dad’s not, but that’s what he has them for.”
This is so much worse than he’d feared. Keeping his magic a secret among a bunch of nobles was going to be bad enough, but a high priestess? And a kid training to be a sorceress?
Merlin has no idea what he’s gotten himself into.

Character: mob!Lloyd Hansen
Summary: a demanding customer complicates more than your work life.
As usual, I would appreciate any and all feedback. I’m happy to once more go on this adventure with all of you! Thank you in advance for your comments and for reblogging ❤️
Tumblr media
You half smile and half cringe. Oh boy. He wants you to do that. With him there. Well, you never really did it with an audience. You’re more of a loner when it comes to... cumming.
You let out a brittle chuckle, “sir, that’s... you know, I think I’m pretty good. I got lots of action today--”
“I’m not asking,” his voice is dusky and makes your chest thump. Wow. Okay, you can see for a split second how he might be attractive. If you just photoshop the caterpillar off his lip with your mind Adobe.
“I understand but what if I just focused on you, sir. You seem to enjoy that--”
“Don’t make me repeat myself. It’s getting old. Fast.”
“Sure, that’s fair, I hate a broken record,” you gulp and look down then back up, squinting as you smile with a strain in your cheeks. “So, like down here or... it’s a bit tight...” you sheepishly show your teeth then laugh for real as the joke bubbles in your mind. You can’t help but let it free, “that’s what she said.”
He blinks and looks at the ceiling then down again. He sits back in his chair, legs wide, hands on his thighs.
“Get on the desk,” he orders.
You inhale and steel yourself. This is a lot. You think you’ve been handling things well. One thing in particular but you don’t know how much more you can take. Today has been intense. What time is it?
You move forward, once more face to face with his crotch before you manage to plant a foot and stand. His eyes flick down and he hums. You turn slowly and try to see the corner of his screen. Holy, it’s not even three o’clock.
“What the hell are you looking at?” He snarls.
“Nothing, sir, promise--”
“Turn it off.”
You should say the same thing about his dick. You keep your mouth closed and press the button to black the monitor. You put your hands on the desk and carefully slide his delicate keyboard and mouse aside. They’re so light you nearly toss them. You shake your head.
“What?” He sneers.
“It’s just, sir, Apple products are made to break. This keyboard feels like a wafer.”
“This isn’t what we’re doing right now. Focus.”
“I’m focused,” you whine and consider the desk. This glass better be sturdy.
You lift one knee, then the other. You don’t like this. It's like crossing ice; tenuous and just as cold. He clicks his tongue.
“You know, you don’t got a bad ass considering,” he mutters.
You should thank him. It’s a real compliment. All those squats you do when the shop slows down are paying off. You’re too frazzled to do much more than turn over and sit facing him. As hot as this might seem in his head, the logistics are not easy. Or safe.
You glance around and frown, “sir, what if I break--”
“You keep talking, and I’ll break something on you,” he swivels the chair slightly as his hand crawls up his pantleg.
“Got it, okay, so...” you bend your legs, putting your feet on the glass and wiggles your toes.
You slowly pull your thighs apart. You tremble as the cool air slips between them and grazes your cunt. Your ears are burning and your skull is pounding. You’re dizzy. This desk is really high up. You could fall and crack your head open.
“Take your fucking time,” he growls.
“Sir, I got a bit of stage fright here,” you squeak, “I never really... you know, in front of someone.”
“No use being shy when you had me down your throat twice today,” he reprimands.
“Fair,” you tilts your head, “that’s a good point.” You look down at your body and reach down between your legs. You blow out between your lips, almost whistling as some of the tension seeps out. “That’s helpful advice, actually.”
He sighs and you seal your lips. You nod and close your eyes. You can do this. How many times have you done this? Well, maybe you shouldn’t be proud of that.
You feel down your tummy and along your pelvis. Goosebumps rise and you shiver, leaning back on your other hands as your feet arch against the edge of the desk. You feel along your coily hair and delve between your tender folds. You’re wet but that’s better than the alternative. You’d rather this not last forever.
You press down on your clit and take a deep breath. You let it out slow as you trace the sensitive bud and hum. Alright, gotta get the rhythm. You’re thinking too much. Stop that.
Wait, no. You need to think. You need to picture something. This is too much pressure. Knowing he’s watching you, you have to think of anything else. Of someone. Someone sexy. You gotta get the motor going.
You ease back onto your elbow as the heat begins to flow. You picture this burly guy you saw down at the sandwich shop. You don’t quite have the clear picture of him but he was tall and thick and he had some nice eyes. He also looks pretty grumpy but he could probably channel that energy into some good hip action.
Okay, back to the point. You put together the fantasy; thick arms, hairy chest, throaty grunts, and a big... yeah. That’s it. Your fingers swirl faster, slippery as your excitement builds. You moan and tilt your head back. You’re almost there.
You flick your fingers up and down, your thighs quivering. You gotta give this guy a name. Something sexy. Gene? No, ew, that’s not it. Hm. Oh, yes, Adam? The first man. The epitome of maleness.
You squeak as your breath hitches and your lashes flutter. Your toes curl and you put your head forward as the tension winds tight and all at once, unleashes. You quake and drone out madly, head lolling as you fight to keep your fingers moving. You feel your orgasm flowing from you, wetting your cunt and the creases of your thighs. Fuck...
Suddenly, your land on your back. The glass braces and you wait for a crack. Lloyd pins you by your neck. He swats your hand away from your cunt and frames your entrance with two long fingers. He drags them up, rubbing your buzzing clit as you squirm.
“Oh, Adam,” you burst out and your eyes snap open in horror. You didn’t mean to let that out.
“Adam?” He growls as he stops, squeezing your throat tighter, “who the fuck is Adam?”
You touch his wrist, “I meant... Floyd?”

Wandee Goodday Ep 1 Stray Thoughts
I've waited so long for this. Please don't let me down.
Starting at sex next to a sign that says Have a Good Day.
Have a nice day.
Drake's character is asexual!
How dare they make fun of Kao's eyebrows!?!
We have an established gay couple and they are happy!! I am living!!!
I know Dr. Ter better not be touching another man's lips when he has no desire to kiss them!
Eight years?! I am so embarrassed for this man, because I have also been him.
I'm already really feeling the Dee and Kao friendship.
I want a whole series of medical professional reactions to this show.
Having a good time with Dee and Yak not liking each other from the jump.
Bestie likes they the administrator isn't a dick and seems to have a good rapport with his subordinates. I like that he also feels like family and can tease Dee as such.
Pit Babe jump scare in the ad.
I think they both handled that ribs scene poorly, particularly not eating the ribs. Dee was wrong to throw out another woman's name like that, and he was wrong to push Ter on why he doesn't like him. Ter didn't do a great job of acknowledging Dee's feelings, and also should not have called him vanilla. However, in Dee's defense, that man wiped his goddamn lips.
Oh no. Dee is a woo girl.
Not this man planning to wander into a mini Mart like "Who want me?"
This is an unhinged level of harassment.
Wow, finally we acknowledge openly the critical role lube plays in gay sex in conjunction with condom usage. Thank you, Golf Tanwarin.
Room 609? I see you, Golf. Tell us a bedtime story.
Whoa this guy's bisexual! I didn't know that!
Love those check ins from Yak about continuing.
That leg cramp is so real.
OMG they're watching The Eclipse. Golf, please!
That was such a fun first episode. I had a blast with this. I know I was harsh to another GMMTV show earlier this week, and this is exactly why. We know they can do BL that has a queer touch to it. I will be seated next week.

Angel Season - Jeong Yunho
Tumblr media
Synopsis: Yunho first noticed you when you moved into the building. He was attracted not just by your physical beauty but the way your smile outshined the sun. He has spent the past year making little conversation, trying to be a good neighbor. However, he refused to go into the new year without making a move.
Pairing: neighbor!Jeong Yunho x reader
Genre: strangers to lovers, next door neighbors/cute boy next door, angst - heartache, jealousy
Contains: mentions alcohol consumption
Word Count: 8.9k
December 30, 2022
"Miss, what floor are you on?" "Third floor, apartment 3A," you called out.
The mover nodded his head before whistling for the other. "3A boys!"
One was lifting your bed out of the back of the moving truck, another person still in the truck for support. You stood on the curb of the sidewalk, watching. You were able to help with the smaller boxes, the ones filled with either trinkets or kitchen items. But for the longer furniture, you were more than happy to let the professionals handle it.
As people were carrying things into your new home, you took a moment to look around your surroundings. You've always been attracted to city living. For some people, you knew that they could get overwhelmed by the high-rises and busy streets. That was what attracted you to living here. You liked the idea that you could go about your day without being noticed, being able to blend into the crowds. Yet, you liked the endless possibilities of making this city whatever you want it to be.
Despite the rainy, chilly weather, there was no place you'd rather be.
Seeing as all your furniture had been taken out of the moving truck, you decided to lend a hand now. The faster the movers could drop off your stuff, the sooner you could start unpacking and decorating.
You stepped Ito the truck, going to retrieve one of the boxes you knew you could manage. "Do you need some help there?"
Caught off guard, you jumped at the sound of the new voice. You turned around to see who was talking to you. Much to your surprise, you were greeted by a tall, young man. He couldn't have been older than you.
Wow, he's absolutely stunning.
He wore a gentle smile, feeling a bit bad for giving you a scare. He stood with his hands in his pockets as he stood at the bottom of the truck. You felt a bit guilty at first contemplating taking up his offer. What if he had somewhere to be? What if he was just trying to be nice? However, you came to your senses because he wouldn't have offered if he was serious, right?
"If you don't mind!"
The young man nodded his hand, extending his arms out to take the box from you. You grinned at the gesture, quickly grabbing the box for him. "You have no idea how much this means to me. Lucky for you, the movers got all the heavy stuff, so we just have a few more boxes," you laughed. You quickly grabbed a box for yourself before joining him out of the truck and on the ground. "Hey, I am pretty strong," he said, pretending to be offended. "By the way, my name is Yunho." "I'm y/n. I should've asked before leading you up to my apartment."
You both shared a laugh. Carrying one of the boxes, you took the lead in showing the man to your new apartment. Your mother always told you not to talk to strangers, but there was no way you'd let this handsome stranger just walk past you. Not when he approached you first. "Wait, you're moving here?" He asked, shocked. "Oh no. Please don't tell me there is something wrong with the apartment," you whined. He quickly shook his head, wanting to ease any worries or concerns you may have. Yunho never thought that offering assistance, trying to be a good person would lead him to probably the best thing to happen to him all year.
Yunho was out on his usual routine on a Saturday morning. He went out for his usual coffee and bagel after running errands. It was a little reward for him for getting out of bed rather than staying in. The bigger reward was running into you. "No, I actually live here," he chuckled softly. Yunho was glad that you were in front of him, back turned as you guided him up the steps to your new unit. Because if you turned around, you would see him with the widest grin on his face. He was like a little boy on Christmas morning who opened up the one present he has been asking for all year. "Small world!" You giggled. "What unit are you?" "3B, what about you?" "Well hi neighbor," you teased. "I'm moving into 3A."
Correction, this was now the best present he could have received.
Valentine's Day - February 2023
Over the past month or so, Yunho and you have passed by each other. Sometimes it is when you are entering the building and he's leaving, which he'll open the door for you. Or sometimes it is when you are both returning after a night out.
He was starting to pick up on things that consisted in your daily life. For example, he knew that you liked a fresh bouquet of flowers for your apartment every 2 or 3 weeks. You always had one bad of groceries, presumably buying just for the week. Friday nights always included a bottle of red wine.
All of his friends were aware of the girl next door. They often tried to catch a glimpse of you when they were over to visit. Yunho certainly has developed a crush on the girl next door. How couldn't he? You radiated brighter than the lights atop the Empire State Building.
Tonight was Valentine's Day. Both of your respective jobs kept you out of the apartment most nights. You two had exchanged numbers, for the sake of knowing someone else in the building and for emergencies. Yunho hadn't brought himself to text you outside of those conditions as he was afraid of giving the wrong impression. He didn't even crack under the relentless teasing of his friends on his failure to make a move after a month and a half of knowing you.
He felt a stronger urge to text you today. Did she have a date for Valentine's Day? Did she even want one? Was she even single?
Yunho was on the unlucky side of not having a date for the evening. His work had consumed the better part of days, so he hadn't put much of his energy towards dating. He often came home, reheated dinner if he hadn't ordered takeout, and slept before doing it all again the next day.
Trudging up the steps, he was contemplating if tonight would be the night he finally texts you. However, he knew texting you was pointless. Not when you were practically standing in front of him.
His eyes widened, taking you in. You wore a black peacoat with the red dress you were wearing peaking out underneath. Silver heels were hugging your feet. He has never seen your hair done in curls, but it was becoming one of his favorite looks on you. You wore red lipstick to go with the dress. The one accessory he wasn't pleased to see was your hands gripping the plastic loops of a white takeout bag. Oh no, she did have a date tonight. Fuck, I missed my opportunity.
Seeing movement from your peripheral, you turned your head over. The light frown on your lips was soon replaced with a gentle smile. Yunho always brought joy into your life, even if the interactions were minimal. "Hi Yunho," you spoke, your voice softer than usual. It didn't carry its usual tone of happiness. He could tell that there was something wrong. He felt the urge to take care of anything that might be troubling you, but he didn't want to overstep his bounds. "Hey y/n. I'm surprised you're not out tonight. No suitors catch your attention?" You smiled wider at his compliment. Yunho always knew how to make you feel special. Any girl would be lucky to have him as their boyfriend. "Unfortunately no. I, uh, got stood up, so ended up picking up Chinese from the place around the corner on my way back." This time, Yunho frowned. You got stood up? How could anyone do that to anyone, but especially how could anyone do that to you? You were literal treasure in Yunho's eyes. He felt saddened for you, but angry at whoever made you upset.t
"Oh, y/n. I'm sorry to hear that. Are you ok? Is there anything I can do?" "You're too sweet. No, I'll be okay. I think I just want to be alone, if that's ok?"
Of course, whatever you felt like you needed. He nodded his head, offering a gentle smile. "I'll see you around?" He asked. You smiled back, a bit wider. Seeing Yunho was the favorite part of your day.
The two of you entered your respective apartments. Once the door was shut to his, he let out a soft sigh. He slipped off his winter jacket, hanging it by the door before slipping off his shoes. He trudged himself over further into his apartment, turning on the floor lamp in the living room. He claimed his seat on the couch before looking out the windows into the city.
His earlier dilemma seemed to resolve himself. Sitting up slightly, he pulled his phone out of his pocket. His fingers made quick work at typing a text. A very important text to you.
"He's a loser, y/n. You deserve the whole world and I know there's someone out there ready to give it to you 🙂"
He set his phone on the arm of the chair. He wasn't sure if you would respond, or even read his text tonight. It tore him up inside knowing some jerk made you upset. He also felt some responsibility. Maybe if he had gotten the courage to confess to you, he could have saved you from the disappointment? I mean, he couldn't even dream of letting you down by any means.
Yunho was surprised to feel the vibration of his phone. He never acted so quickly to pick something up before. "You're the sweetest in the whole world. Thanks Yunho 🩷 to hell with him I guess"
He chuckled at your words before trying a response back. "To hell with him. You are an angel, don't settle for less."
Little did he know how wide you were smiling next door. You were at your kitchen countertop. The tears of frustration quickly forgotten the moment Yunho texted you. It was as if he answered your silent prayer.
April 2023
It was a rainy day in the city. Spring was in full swing, the green buds on the trees in the neighborhood beginning to peanut. People all around the city were beginning to put plants out on their balconies. You always loved rainy days. They always soothed your soul, loving to just curl up and watch rain run down the window.
"I can't believe they cancelled the game," Yunho sighed from outside the hallway. You've learned that he can be loud when he's excited or frustrated. This seems like it is the latter.
There were no other voices on the side of the door. He was probably on the phone. Maybe with Yeosang? You've met his friends here and there as they float in and out of his apartment. There were all friendly towards you. It was just a bigger testament to who Yunho is as a person.
You didn't hear much of the conversation before the door closed. Maybe this was your chance. You planned on having a lazy day anyways. Maybe read a book, watch a movie, but you know that it is always better with company.
Taking your phone from beside you, you unlocked it with ease. Your fingers eagerly typing a text message to the boy next door. Your speed of texting matched the butterflies fluttering in your stomach.
"Hey neighbor! Think I just heard you get home, wanna come over to watch a movie?"
Your heart was pounding both with excitement and anxiety. You weren't typically the person to make the first move. Since moving in, you were very grateful for your friendship with Yunho. He's treated you with nothing but kindness, really setting a standard on how your guy friends and even dates should be treating you.
At night, your mind often got curious about the topic. What would it be like to be with Yunho? Not once have you seen a woman enter his apartment. He never even mentioned going on dates. There potential was there, but you just weren't sure if he was just being a good friend, an exceptional neighbor, or if he was into you.
"Wow perfect timing, angel" You grinned seeing his nickname for you. "Plans got cancelled, so I'll be over in 5? I'll bring the popcorn!"
Springing up from the couch, you rushed over to your bathroom. You were wearing a pair of shorts and an oversized t-shirt. You were unsatisfied with your hair though. It was curled in a messy bun on the top of your head. You quickly pulled at the scrunchie, releasing your hair so it fell down to your shoulders. You began brushing it out. You didn't have much time.
This could solve every answer you've had over the past few weeks. This could easily just be two friends hanging out. What if it turned into something more?
Y/n, chill. You took a deep breath, trying to ease your racing mind. You didn't like building up expectations. While you would like it if Yunho made a move or gave some indicator he is attracted to you, you didn't want to set yourself up for disappointment.
Knock knock knock.
Here goes nothing. You took a deep breath in the reflection of your bathroom mirror. It is just two friends hanging out.
You turned off your bathroom light before attending to the front door of your apartment. Your heart beat matched the pace you were walking, trying your hardest not to be too fast. You were conscious maybe he would hear you racing to the door, even thought you were eager to have him over.
Opening the door, you smiled wide to be greeted by Yunho. He was standing on the other side, holding a bowl of freshly popped popcorn. The hallway beginning to smell of the delicious food. "Sorry, it took me so long! I just wanted to make sure I got the popcorn ready."
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The sun was hidden behind grey clouds, providing little light throughout your apartment. You insisted on lighting a few candles, to create a warm feel to your home compared to the cold weather outside. It also helped create a bit of a romantic ambiance to the afternoon.
You two were sat pretty close together on your three-seat grey couch. An emerald blanket was spread across your laps with the bowl of popcorn in between.
After hearing that you have not seen a single Spiderman movie, Yunho was determined to show you all the movies. Or at least the big 3 - Maguire, Garfield, and Holland. He tried insisting the two of you didn't have to watch all three movies today, but you had no other plans. You would be more than happy to spend the afternoon like this with Yunho.
Throughout the movie, you guys would balance light conversation and watching the movie. When you were focused on the film, Yunho would glance at you to see your reaction. He adored Spiderman, so seeing if you liked one of his favorite things captured his attention. He also would focus on how you smiled at certain parts of the film, particular the scenes between Peter Parker and Mary Jane.
When you weren't focusing on the film, you two would talk more. Sure, you've made light conversation when passing, and a bit more meaningful over text, but this was the perfect time to get to know each other. Yunho wanted to know about your dreams, your passions, your dislikes. He wanted to know all the little things that made you who you are.
It was about 5:18pm when you guys started the the first movie with Andrew Garfield. You felt your eyes getting a bit heavy. Yunho took notice, moving the bowl of popcorn out of the way for you. Noticing, you smiled appreciatively to him. He always had your best interests at heart.
Your eyes grew heavy, body sinking more into the couch. Before either of you knew it, your head fell on his shoulder. Without the bowl of popcorn in the way, your body curled into his. Yunho's eyes were wide and heart nearly stopped before speeding up.
Glancing down at you, your chest was resting against his shoulder. You looked adorable. Your eyelashes were resting against your cheeks, lips slightly parted. Your hands were grazing the side of his body. There was no chance of him going anywhere now. Not that he would want to.
Very slowly, cautious as to not wake you up, his arm draped over you. He sunk slightly into the couch before resting his head on yours. Sleep began taking over his body. He was content.
May 2023
"What do you mean you're leaving?" You frowned.
Yunho suggested that the two of you hung out weekly. It started off with going to local bars to vent about the woes of work and life. Those quickly changed into dinner out, to get a change of scenery and explore the neighborhood. Tonight, Yunho suggested dinner at his place. You weren't sure why at first, but obviously excited to spend quality time with your best friend. But now you get why he opted for staying in.
"I'm not leaving forever," Yunho reassured. "I'm just going to Korea for a little bit. It's been a while since I visited my family, and I can finally afford a ticket after my promotion."
Of course, you knew that family was important. If you got the opportunity to visit your family more often, you'd easily say yes. You couldn't help though but feel a bit selfish in wanting Yunho to stay.
"How long am I going to be without seeing you around?" "3 months," he said sheepishly.
Dramatically, you let out a whine and threw your head back. Yunho couldn't help but chuckle at your antics. It made his heart swell seeing as that you were going to miss him.
He moved his hand over to place it gently on yours. The light touch, even though it was feather like, felt like electric shocks throughout your body. You always craved his touch. Ever since that day last month when you woke up to his arms wrapped around you on his couch.
"Angel, it'll go by quick, I promise." "Can you also promise me something?" "Anything." "Promise that you won't have a realization while you're away that you actually want to stay in Korea? Because the thought of you moving and actually having to say goodbye will kill me."
He chuckled again, a wide smile on his lips. "I promise."
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Turns out that all of Yunho's friends were traveling with him to Korea. All of the boys have apparently been speaking about it for months, but the idea was finally leaving the group chat.
Even though you wanted to accompany all the boys to the airport to see them off, you knew that it would be too painful. Even if he was going to be gone for 3 months, it felt like a part of you was leaving as well. At least with saying goodbye at the apartment, you could hurry back to your place and shed tears if you want to.
Going down the steps of the apartment building, you two headed out the front door. Yunho had called an Uber to take him to the airport, not wanting to pay the overnight prices for parking at the airport especially with how long he was going to be.
It felt very reminiscent to the day you two met. You even tried to offer carrying one of Yunho's bags, but he refused to let you help. You rolled your eyes at him. The least you could do was get in front of him to open the front door rather than watch him struggle to do it with a rolling suitcase, a duffle bag, and his backpack. "Thank you, angel," he chuckled. He could sense you were a bit annoyed for not being able to help. He loved the way your nose scrunched up like a bunny when you were annoyed.
He walked towards the edge of the sidewalk, on the lookout for the vehicle. You stood back slightly, smiling up at him. You were trying your best not to let your sadness ruin the moment. He has been excited about traveling home since he bought the ticket. Yunho described all his favorite places in Seoul, all the things he missed.
"You better still talk to me while you're in Seoul," you said teasingly.
With his bags on the concrete, he turned towards you. He wore that wide smile of his, that wide smile that caused your knees to get week. He opened his arms, inviting you into them. No way were you going to object.
Walking into his arms, he wrapped them around you. He pulled you in close to him by your waist. His lips pressed against your forehead, causing your eyes to flutter shut at the sensation. How am I going to survive 3 months without him?
"I'll talk to you as much as I can, take all the photos I can," he promised.
Satisfied with that answer, you nodded your head. Your arms had found a place around his torso, holding yourself go. Maybe if you held onto each other long enough, he would want to stay. If only.
You felt two taps on your lower back. Raising an eyebrow, you pulled back to lookout Yunho. He was already looking at you. It was as if time froze. He towered over you, but his face was so close to you. His eyes never leaving yours. You could melt into a puddle due to his gaze.
Keeping one hand around you, his other hand moved to cup your face. He tilted your head slightly to the side. His fingertips rested against your cheek. The whole time, he wore a smile on his lips. Regardless of what he had up his sleeves, you put your whole trust in him. You never doubted his intentions with you.
A shiver ran down your spine feeling the padding of his thumb run across your lower lip. Was this actually happening? He glanced at your lips before looking into your eyes. Yunho was looking for any hesitation from you, any sign that he should stop before getting to ahead of himself. Yet, you never looked away.
"Wait for me?"
You couldn't bring yourself to speak. You were frozen in place. Your mind had become fuzzy, all the sounds of the busy city around you faded. All that mattered was the man standing in front of you, the man who seemed to be saying everything you've been yearning to hear since you two met. Was this actually happening? Somehow, you got yourself to nod.
Yunho smiled wider before letting his desires take over. Not wanting to waste anymore time, he pressed his lips against yours.
HONK!
The kiss was rudely short after hearing the sound of a car horn. You two pulled away, both confused and upset at the interruption. Yunho looked over his shoulders before gasping softly. There was his Uber to whisk him away from you. "Shit," he sighed.
Looking back at you, he smiled apologetically. You smiled back before leaning up on his tiptoes. Sensing that Yunho was actually going to leave, the Uber driver got out of the car to grab Yunho's suitcases and place them in the trunk. Just enough time to do one last thing.
"Don't worry. I'll save all the kisses for you, I promise to wait for you."
You leaned up to press one last lingering kiss on his lips. One last kiss for now at least.
June 2023
Since Yunho left, you got pretty good at figuring out timezone differences.
You didn't want to interfere with Yunho's daily life. You were sure that he has plans to visit family, local places he hasn't been able to go to in years, and make meaningful memories with his best friends and loved ones. Yet, Yunho was insistent he will make time for you.
Every Wednesday night and Sunday morning, you two would FaceTime. Thank God for modern technology. "I wish you could be here," Yunho admitted one night.
You frowned and nodded. Ever since Yunho left, he was all you think about. You tried getting yourself involved more in your work, but it as summer. Work was a bit slow. You had friends in the city who tried to help you out of your conundrum, taking you out on the weekends. But you still thought about him, wanting to experience summer in the city with him.
It made you sick to your stomach when you saw couples in the park. You often thought about the kiss you two shared on the morning he left. You wondered where you guys would be, romantically, if he had stayed. You could easily envision dates in the park, nights out with friends, and everything in between. You were anxiously waiting for his return to know where things could go. "Y/n?"
You blinked a couple of times as he called out to you. A soft blush coated your cheeks, coming to realize you haven't spoken in a few minutes. "Sorry, Yunho. Just thinking about what it would be like when you get back here," you explained.
He seemed to smile at your response. It was good to know you missed him as much as he missed you. Though, if it was a competition, he could say that he missed you more. "Oh angel, I know. Just two more months, right?"
All you could do is nod, trying your best to smile along with him. He looked good, even with the low quality of FaceTime with a poor wifi connection. He glowed from being out in the sun, probably glowing also with happiness by being back at home. "I know what will make us feel better," he suddenly announced. You perked up with curiosity. Yunho always had some trick up his sleeve. That was what you loved about him. He always kept you on your toes, never settling for a routine. "Go check the front door."
"You better not be pulling a prank on me, Jeong Yunho!" "After you called me by my full name? Absolutely not."
You rolled your eyes playfully before pushing yourself away from the desk in your bedroom. Yunho watched with amusement as you disappeared from the frame. Following his request, you made your way to the front door of your apartment. What did he do?
There was no knock at the door to indicate someone was there. However, you trusted Yunho. You slowly opened the door, confirming there was nobody standing behind there. Instead, there was a bouquet of flowers on your doormat. You gasped softly to see it wa a rather large bouquet, much larger than the ones you pick up from Trader Joe's.
You bent over to take the glass vase into two hands. There was a yellow bow wrapped around it. You also noticed that there was a card sticking in between the flowers. With one arm securing the vase, you flipped the card over.
"Happy birthday, my angel. Hopefully these make up for me being away."
Your heart fluttered at the sentiment. How did you get so fortunate? Wanting to hurry back to Yunho, you returned to the inside of your apartment. Both of your hands held the vase, so you closed the door with your foot. You began to make your way back to your bedroom where he awaited for you.
"Yunho, I love-" but you froze. Instead of his face on the monitor, you were met with your laptop background. You frowned a bit, assuming that maybe the connection got disrupted.
He'll call you back. He always did when this happened.
For now, you walked over to your windowsill. You placed the vase there, so it could get the necessary sunlight. He knew just the ways to make you smile, even when he is thousands of miles away. You pulled your phone out to snap a photo of it, with the card showing.
August 2023
The conversations between you and Yunho began to become less frequent. It chipped away at your heart when you would go days, sometime a week without hearing from him. Yet, his friends reassured you that he was having a great time back at home.
All of Yunho's friends easily became yours, despite them being on the other side of the world. You then decided to throw a welcome back party for all the boys. You had your own friends enlisted to help with decorations - there were balloons, streamers, and even a cake. You were excited to have some of your favorite people back. But not more excited than you were to have Yunho back.
It was 7:40pm when the boys began to come to the party. Seonghwa and Hongjoong were the first to arrive. Your friends started to trickle in one at a time. After a whole summer without Yunho, you wanted to have a room full of positive energy. San, Yeosang, and Wooyoung arrived next. Then quickly came Jongho.
Each time the door opened, you looked over, hoping to see the man of the hour. Yet, you felt your smile flatten when it wasn't Yunho.
Your friends all giggled at your reactions. They were quick to reassure you that he was on his way. While Yunho's friends all were quick to take your mind off of Yunho's absence.
Mingi was the second to last person to arrive. Mingi was the first person in the friend group to meet. He's known Yunho the longest, so meeting him felt like you were meeting the president. While you and Yunho remained in undefined territory, you wanted to make a great impression. "Y/n!" "Mingi!"
You two approached each other, wrapping each other in a hug. You laughed as Mingi began rocking you back and forth. He definitely became like a big brother to you, often using your drastic height difference as a great point for laughter. "What's up, short stuff?" "Nothing much, Mingi. How's the weather up there?"
Before he could respond, there was knocking at the door. Your heart skipped a beat. Yunho. Mingi glanced at the door before looking at you. His hands were placed on your forearms, keeping you still rather than running towards the door like you wanted to rush to the door. "Wait, y/n. There's something I need to tell you." "Mingi, come on. Can't it wait?" Your best friend beat you from going to open the door. Your attention on Mingi was lost before you quickly looked over at the door.
You could feel your stomach drop at what was revealed behind the closed front door. There was Yunho. With a girl by his side. Her hand was on his chest which made you physically ill. Yunho was smiling from ear to ear, saying hello to his friends until his eyes landed on you. That's when your smile faded. He looked as if he was about to say something to you but you quickly looked away.
This can't be happening.
"I need to get out of here," you murmured. Getting the hint, Mingi stepped aside, blocking Yunho's view of you. Your eyes looked around your room until you eyed the fire escape by your kitchen window.
With your eyes on the target, you maneuvered yourself through the crowd to the fire escape. The majority of people at the party were in your living room, enjoying the food you laid out and making conversations amongst themselves. You just needed a chance to breathe before returning inside.
You propped open the window, slipping out to climb the steps. You at least climbed until you were out of sight from inside the room. Your eyes were burning slightly, your emotions catching up to you.
"Mingi, where is she?" "Where is who?"
You heard Yunho groan before there was more shuffling of footsteps throughout your apartment. You should have closed the window behind you, but it was too late. You put your hands on your forehead, trying your best to stop crying before the inevitable happened. It didn't take long anyways. "There you are," Yunho sighed. Fuck me for having a tiny apartment. You didn't pick your head up to hear Yunho climb out to join you. "What? You're not going to even look at me?"
Who does he think he is? "You made me promise," you murmured. "Y/n, angel, you gotta at least speak up."
You felt your blood begin to boil now. He doesn't get the right to call you that anymore. Not when he broke your heart. You did pick your head up, your jaw clenched. You stared at him.
He leaned against the iron railing of the fire escape. He looked guilty. He knows what he did. "You made me promise to wait for you. And I held up my end of the bargain." "Angel, I know-" "Don't you dare fucking call me that."
Yunho's eyes opened wide. He has never heard you shout before. Let alone he never thought you would shout at him. He was at a lost for words. "Is that why you stopped our FaceTime calls?"
You watched as he sighed, dropping his head. Your heart dropping and shattering along with him. "Get out." Y/n, please. Let me explain what happened." "I said get out, Yunho!"
Mingi quickly appeared at the sound of you screaming. You didn't even notice that there was a small watch party watching you experience heartbreak from the kitchen. "Come on, mate. Take Ara with you." Yunho glanced between the two of you, even more thrown off as to why Mingi was coming to your defense.
However, Yunho didn't want to make matters worse. He didn't want to further upset you in your own home, but the damage was done. You turned your face to focus on the skyline, not wanting to watch Yunho walk into the art of someone else.
When you noticed Yunho was gone, you groaned loudly before resting your head back in your hands. What were you going to do?
October 2023
You haven't spoken to Yunho in weeks. You constantly had music playing from the speakers in your living room or walked around your apartment with headphones to avoid hearing any and all interactions between Yunho and his girlfriend. You even were contemplating on moving to a new place in the new year, but your financial situation limited you on where you could go.
Since things went radio silent, your conversations with the other boys have also gone quiet. It pained you to lose them as friends, but you couldn't bring yourself to reach out there. Not when Yunho might be brought up.
At the moment, you were reading a book on your couch. You had the music playing in the background as you had connected your iPhone to your wireless speaker, drowning out any noise. At least someone gets a happily every after in the novel. You had a glass of red wine on the coffee table, getting lost in the pages.
You were about to flip the page to your book when the music cut out. Your eyes widened as you feared the worst. No no no. You couldn't afford your phone dying. You were sure you put it on the charger. There was no room for mishaps like this.
However, it wasn't the worst case you imagined. It might have been something worst, definitely unexpected to say the least. You weren't sure how to feel seeing the name flash on your phone screen.
Mingi.
Slowly, you reached over to pick up the phone. You stared at it for the time being. What could he want? Mingi was the last person you thought would reach out to you. Wasn't there a rule under bro code that said not to take your friend's exes, if you could even call yourself that? You weren't sure what you even were to Yunho.
Mingi's name vanished from your phone screen, the music restarting. You let out a sigh, about to sink into your couch to ease your racing heart when he started calling again.
It had to be serious if he was calling you twice. Hesitantly, your thumb hit the green accept button. You held the phone up to your ear.
"Hello? Mingi?" "Long time since I've heard from you," he said cheerfully. "Mind coming to open the door for me?"
What? You glanced the door before standing up. You walked over to the door slowly. Once you were at the peephole of your unit door. There he was, standing as he looked around the hallway with his hand up to his ear, holding the phone.
Slowly, you opened the door and gazed up at Mingi. He noticed the movement and finally looked ahead of him. His smile grew when he saw you for the first time in months. "Hi, y/n," he spoke softly. You could hear his voice from right in front of you and from the speaker. "Hi Mingi. What can I do for you?" You said, unhanging up the phone to address him properly.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
For the first time in weeks, you felt genuinely happy. You arm was linked with Mingi's as he guided you to your apartment unit.
While it's been weeks since contact with him, it felt like you guys were picking up right where you left off. Maybe that is why it was so easy to say yes to Mingi when he asked you out for dinner. There was also a special connection between you and Mingi. From the moment you met, the communication between you two has been strong.
Tonight, you got to explore that on a deeper level. Mingi waited patiently in your living room as you got ready. He took you to a restaurant around the corner, which was a bit more upscale than what you were anticipating. You put on a black body con dress, wearing a light leather jacket to go with it.
Mingi looked at you as if you were made our of the stars. You looked enchanting. And since the fallout, you felt just as amazing.
Being the absolute gentleman he is, Mingi walked you to your front door not just of your apartment building but to your unit. Part of you was contemplating about inviting him inside for a nigh cap, but you really appreciated where things were between the two of you. It felt like Mingi just walked back into your life, and you didn't want to risk losing him again. "Mingi, I cannot thank you enough for this evening," you smiled.
He looked over at you as he led you up the staircase. "It really was long overdue, sweet girl. I've been meaning to do this for a while, but I didn't want to overstep," he confessed. You felt your cheeks get hot at his confessional, looking down as you watched your feet move up the steps. Mingi laughed lightly in response, leaning over to kiss your cheek.
You two soon arrived at your front door. Biting your lip gently, you stood in front of him yet you couldn't bring yourself to detach yourself from him. And deep down, Mingi didn't want you to eat go either.
"So, I gotta ask," you began. "What was this? I mean, was this two friends getting reacquainted with each other or..?" "Or something more?"
Mingi wrapped one arm around you, pulling you in closer. You blushed even harder, a hand going to rest on his chest. Your heart was pounding even after. You were convinced that Mingi could feel it. He opened his mouth to speak but froze when he saw movement behind you. You raised an eyebrow and dared to look over your shoulder, wanting to see what stole your date's attention.
You felt your throat suddenly get dry.
There was Yunho. He was holding a bag of groceries, standing at the top of the steps that led to your respective units. He was staring at the two of you, eyes flickering back and forth. There was no way he just caught his best friend and his old crush together? It was the way you were dressed up for Mingi that rubbed Yunho the wrong way. Was this a date?
Mingi didn't say anything to Yunho. He quickly looked back down at you, offering a gentle smile. His hand on your lower back moved to your hip, squeezing it reassuringly. "How about I'll give you a call when I get home?" He whispered.
You simply nodded. You weren't sure how to even respond. Mingi kept a smile, an attempt to ease your worries. He murmured a goodnight before kissing your cheek lingeringly. Your fingertips grazed his body as he maneuvered around you to head home.
You turned around, to watch him leave. There was no Yunho. Did you imagine the whole thing? You stood there for a moment, trying to wrap your mind around what happened.
Yunho, on the other hand, was in his apartment. He stood with his back against the closed front door, staring ahead of himself. He too was trying to wrap his mind around what he just witnessed.
November 2023
The sound of a door slamming caused you to jolt. It shook your walls a bit. "What the hell?" You murmured. You heard the sound of another door, maybe the same, opening again, realizing it was coming from next door. Yunho.
"You haven't even told me you love me in the past 5 months that we've been dating," Ara screamed.
You shouldn't be eavesdropping, you know you really shouldn't. However, the events unfolding peaked your interest. With having blocked out Yunho pretty much from your life, you had no updates on the relationship or anything about him.
"Maybe because I don't! Have you ever thought about that? That maybe I've been trying to find ways to love you or get myself to love you but I can't be in love with you?!"
Your jaw fell open. Not the update you were expecting.
"This is because of y/n, isn't it?" Ara voice spoke, but you could tell it was shaky. She was scared of knowing the truth, and secretly, you were too. "Honestly? Yeah." "She's with Mingi now. You're with me, Yunho. Get over her." "I can't. I don't think I ever will because if I can't date you and forget about her, how can I date anyone?"
Before you know it, you heard the sound of the door slamming. This time, you recognized it to be the front door to Yunho's apartment. You were staring up at your ceiling.
Well, this makes things complicated again.
New Years Day - December 31, 2023
Mingi was hosting a New Years Eve party at his place. You were invited, seeing as you and Mingi had rekindled your friendship.
The two of you went on several dates before releasing that there were no feelings between the two of you. You cared deeply for one another, but were more like siblings than anything else. The attention he was giving you on those dates is something that you'll never forget. You were grateful for him helping you get back and your feet. And he was grateful that you passed along his number to your best friend.
"Hey, I'm going to go find Mingi," your best friend announced as you entered the party. "Trying to ensure you'll get your New Years Eve kiss from your new boyfriend?" You teased. She rolled her eyes playfully before giggling. She couldn't even deny herself as she nodded her head, confirming your suspicions. "Are you going to be okay if I go over for a little bit? I know he might show up.."
He. Yunho. Since you overheard their argument last month, you two haven't spoken. He hasn't texted you to meet up, but to be fair, you also haven't texted him. You weren't sure what to make out of the whole situation. While you think you want Yunho back, you remember the pain he caused.
You weren't even sure if him and Ara actually called it quits! The fight sounded ugly. And you knew if you heard those words from your significant other, you would have walked out as well. Yet, people constantly get back together even after the worst of storms. Looking at your best friend, you smiled reassuringly and nodded. "Yeah, I think I'm going to be okay. Just be quick? He can have you at midnight but you're still my date for the evening," you teased.
She laughed and nodded, thanking you and giving you a quick hug before rushing to locate Mingi. You shook your head playfully before going over towards the kitchen island. If there was a chance you were going to encounter Yunho, might as well boost your confidence. Seeing a bottle of white wine, you smiled. Mingi remembered. Bonus points for being a screw top.
"So you switched from red wine to white?"
It was almost as if the universe needed a laugh, a way to really close out your 2023. Setting the bottle down, you turned on your heels to see Yunho behind you. He smiled sheepishly, that smile that made you weak in the knees. For a while, you wanted to slap him for what he had done to you. But even after all this time, you wanted to melt in front of him.
Glancing at the bottle, you shrugged. "I guess I just wanted to try something new."
He was attractive as ever. It wasn't fair that after all this time, he could look at you with that soft gaze and you crumble. You wanted to make him jealous, make him regret not taking a chance on you. However, you were ready to gravel if given the chance.
His eyes remained on you. To him, you radiated brighter than before. It was as if you were made out of stars. You captivated everyone's attention with ease, but he wanted you all to himself. He wanted to make things more concrete, never making you doubt or worry again.
"So um," he said. "Ara and I broke up."
You frowned getting confirm of the news. Of course, this worked out in your benefit, but you still didn't like to hear the news. Any sort of heartache is tough.
"Oh, I'm sorry to hear that, Yunho. How have you been holding up?" "A lot better than you'd think," he chuckled. "How are things between you and Mingi? Are you guys dating officially now or?"
Your eyes widened slightly. That's right. Last time he saw you, you were about to kiss his best friend after a spontaneous date. You were a bit surprised to hear that Mingi hadn't mentioned anything to him. All you did was motion over to your left side, where Mingi and your best friend were giggling and kissing each other.
Yunho's jaw dropped. You could see his fists clenched but you quickly reached out to rest your hand on his bicep. He relaxed under your touch, gaze softening. He watched them for a moment before it clicked for him that you were touching him. His cheeks reddened, glancing at you before looking down at his feet. "We never got started. I think we were both going on dates because we were missing something," you explained. "Missing something like what?"
He looked at you surprisingly. Yunho's friends always said he was like a golden retriever, but you've never seen it until now. He looked at you like you were holding the golden key to the treasure chest. Literally, you could provide him with the entrance into your world one and for all.
"Missing you," you confessed. "Oh really? How should we fix that?" "Hey, you two, midnight is still 15 minutes away!"
Smack.
The sound of laughter filled the room as eyes went from you and Yunho to Mingi, who just got smacked upside the head by your best friend. It became painfully apparent where you two were. You were standing by all the alcohol at the party, a high traffic area.
"Wanna get out of here?"
You nodded your head, smiling at Yunho. He smiled back at you before grabbing the red wine, the bottle you genuinely liked. To assist, you grabbed two red solo cups. Mingi couldn't trust anyone or himself with glass. With Yunho's free hand, he grabbed your hand and began leading you out of Mingi's unit to the door to the rooftop.
"After you," Yunho gestured, as he pushed open the door with his shoulder.
You smiled appreciatively as you stepped out onto the ledge. A shiver, both from the chilly air of late December to the excitement of New Year's Day. It was always your favorite time of year. Your eyes moved around as you took in the sights of the city from this vantage point.
Yunho made sure you got to the rooftop safely. Setting down the wine bottle for a second, he grabbed one of the bricks to prop the door slightly, not wanting to get the two of you locked out. But boy, would it create a memory for the two of you. Picking up the bottle again, he rejoined you. "This is absolutely beautiful," you stated.
Watching you, he smiled. You wore a smile on your lips as your eyes, he swore, literally sparkled. He wasn't sure if it was from the decorative lights around the city or your pure excitement, but he liked to believe that he had something to do with it. The wind pushed your hair around, revealing your face. "Yeah, the best view," he whispered.
Slowly, he walked up to you. Noticing you were still holding the two solo cups, he took them for you. You watched, thinking he was going to pour a glass for you for midnight as a cheers.
Instead, he stacked the two cups before putting them down on the top of the wine bottle. Maybe he wanted to open the bottle right up at midnight?
Still full of surprises, Yunho took both of your hands in his instead. His thumbs ran over your knuckles. He took a step close to you, closing in on the space that divided you two.
"I think we've spent too much time apart, don't you think, angel?" That nickname. It stirred mixed emotions from you. The last time you heard that nickname, he was smashing your heart into a million pieces that you didn't think could be put back together. Yet, hearing him call you that was like hearing your favorite song from your childhood. He was the only one that called you that. He was the only one who will ever call you that. "I know I fucked up this year. I fucked up so bad," he began. "And I know we have a long road ahead where you could let me into your life again. I don't want to just be the boy next door anymore. I want to be yours. I want to show you that I can take care of your heart, your wellbeing like I should've done this entire time."
No way this was actually happening.
From instead the apartment and around the neighborhood outside, you heard people begin to count down.

All you could do was smile at Yunho. He was trying to get all the words out that he could. You could see the panic in his eyes that he might end up saying the wrong thing. He was too adorable

You took a step into him, dropping your hands so they were at your sides. Still holding his hand. Your fingers slipped in between his, which cut him off from speak. Your heart was racing as you gazed up into his eyes. Both of our faces moving towards each other.

You decided to step up on your tiptoes. He smirked lightly, always loving how much shorter you were than him.

A chorus of "Happy New Year!" echoed from inside the house. You could hear it from other people who gathered on their rooftops and from the street below. Fireworks went off around you, signaling the start of 2024.
"Happy New Year, Yunho," you whispered. Without wasting anymore time, you tilted your head up to fully press your lips against his. His hands left yours to hold onto your hips, keeping you stable. You weren't the type of person from traditions, but this was one you couldn't pass by.
You always learned from your past and took those life lessons into the new year. And it seemed like Yunho was ready to do the same.
He squeezed your hips affectionately, smiling against your lips. You couldn't fight off the smile on your lips as well. His lips chased after yours slowly, wanting to savor this moment but also to show you through his actions that his words carried weight with them. He wanted you to know everything was genuine.
2024 was a new year, a new chapter for you and Jeong Yunho.

“We need this, Hotch, and you are part of the ‘we’ I’m talking about,” Morgan said, patting Hotch on the shoulder as he walked off the jet.
She smiled at the interaction, as did Rossi, knowing by the resigned and borderline irritated look on his face that Hotch was definitely planning on joining the group at the club.
“What, the club scene isn’t for you?” she asked with a hidden smile.
He shook his head. “There’s a reason I never go when you all head there.”
“What changed this time?” Rossi asked as the three stood.
Hotch sighed hard. “I wish I had a good answer for that.”
She was three drinks and approximately seven embarrassing dances into the night when she came to the realization that her next drink should probably be her last. Penelope and Derek spun her around the dancefloor until she was dizzy, though she was sure the alcohol had a lot to do with that when they ordered her a fourth large drink. She found herself stumbling back towards the table, finding only Hotch left.
“Where’s everyone?” she mumbled, looking around as she fell into the seat next to him.
He raised his brows, unsure he’d ever seen her look quite so inebriated. He cleared his throat, then answered when he realized she was still waiting.
“Dave and JJ went home. Prentiss and Reid are at the bar.”
She nodded, looking at him with a goofy smile. “Did you drink?”
“I had one a while ago. I’d like to be able to drive home,” he said, unable to stop his lips from quirking upwards.
She hummed. “I didn’t think about that.”
“I’m aware.”
“I was going to take a cab.”
“When it’s time to leave, I am more than happy to take you home.”
She watched him again for a while, and it took until he called her name that she snapped out of it. He shook his head at her, getting up and going to stand in front of her.
He reached out his hands, and she looked at them curiously.
“Can I help you up?” he asked.
“Oh!“ she exclaimed with a laugh. “Mhm, yes, please.”
She clumsily gripped onto his hands, and he became overly aware how small her hands looked in his. And vice versa.
She stared down for several moments, not making an effort to stand at all. He had to call her back to reality again in order to get her standing, though his next predicament didn’t exactly improve his situation as he battled with an obvious attraction to his coworker. He huffed a breath, composing himself as she leaned her weight into him. She started moving her hands up to his shoulders, but that was something he wasn’t sure he could handle. He grabbed onto her wrists holding her hands near his sternum, though he underestimated her ability to be cunning when she was nearly blacked out.
She fully leaned into his chest, tilting her chin up to look at him with a silly smile.
“What are you doing?” he asked, holding back a smile of his own.
She sighed, leaning in further. “What do you mean?”
He looked down at her, dreadfully aware of how close she was. If he moved an inch forward, he could kiss her. He pulled his head back as that thought crossed his mind, knowing he couldn’t cross that boundary. He slowly let the grip on her hands loosen, though she took that opportunity to throw her arms around his waist and bury her face in his chest.
“Y/N,” he said, nervous she’d feel how fast his heart was beating.
She mumbled something he couldn’t hear into his chest.
“I can’t hear you.”
She moved back just enough to speak. “Morgan let’s me get hugs.”
“I’m not Morgan.”
“No, but you love me,” she said with a laugh, looking up at him.
He felt a heat in his cheeks. “You’re drunk.”
“Uh huh,” she nodded. “Wow, you really do deserve that unit chief position. Don’t know how you guessed it.”
He laughed, brow furrowing. “You’re mean when you’re drunk, too.”
She smiled. “I’m always nice. Besides, you have a nice laugh. I like when you smile.”
He swallowed, watching her for another moment with baited breath before he nodded towards the door of the club.
“Let’s go. You need to get home, you didn’t eat enough today and you need to get some sleep.” She shook her head, pressing her face against his chest again. He sighed, waddling towards Spencer and Emily as they sat at the bar. He wanted to disappear when they saw the leach attached to his body.
“Having fun?“ Prentiss asked with a quirked brow and a curious smile.
Spencer laughed. “She always gets like this.”
“Not with Hotch,” Emily said, turning to him.
Hotch sighed. “I’m taking her home. I don’t think she needs anything else to drink at this point.” She finally pulled back, looking towards the other two, but keeping her grip on him.
“I don’t want to leave.”
“You’re going to feel awful tomorrow if you keep this up, Y/N/N,” Reid said, looking at her with an amused smirk.
“I feel fine,” she sang out. “I can keep going.”
“I think you better listen to Hotch,” Emily said back to her.
She scrunched up her face. “I don’t want to.”
“I’m trying to help you,” he said, looking at her with a partial smile. “We do have to work day after tomorrow.”
“That’s a whole day.”
“And your hangovers last the entire day after a night out like this.”
She groaned, leaning back into him as Hotch said his goodbyes. He tugged her along towards the door as she’d finally stopped fighting it, and got her to the car. As he got into the car, she curled up against the door and was practically out by the time he pulled out of the parking lot.  He pulled up to the stoplight, the last one before her building, and reached over to rest a hand on her arm.
“Y/N? We’re almost home.”
“Okay,” she mumbled back.
“It’s time to wake up.”
“I don’t want to go home.”
He sighed, pulling forward as the light changed.  “Your night out is over. You need to get some sleep.”
“I’m lonely.”
He stopped at that, glancing at her. He reached his hand back over, letting it rest on her knee for a moment.
“You always have the team, you know? We’re here for you when you need us.”
“I know. I just hate being alone.”
He took in a breath, saying just barely above a whisper, “I do, too.”
She woke to a pounding headache, and a need to stave off the desire to throw up. She groaned as the light finally hit her eyes, looking around the room and trying to remember what happened past drink number four the night prior. No signs really gave way, besides the fact that there was a glass of water and some acetaminophen on her side table. Someone must have gotten her home.  She gratefully took the medicine and drank the water, not yet ready to roll out of bed. Unlucky for her, there was a noise out in her apartment.  She strained to listen for signs of who it might be, nervous that it could be an intruder. She gathered her strength, and the gun she kept in her bedside table, waking slowly and quietly towards her bedroom door. She pulled it open carefully, tiptoeing towards the noises that were coming from her kitchen. She took a deep breath, peeking around the corner, and feeling instant relief.
“Oh, thank goodness,” she breathed out as she saw Hotch in her kitchen, looking at her with a raised brow.
“I’m sorry if you aren’t a breakfast sandwich person, but I don’t think it’s something you need to shoot me over,” he said with the ghost of a smile, glancing at the gun in her hand.
She smiled, setting it on the counter as she moved closer.
“I thought you might want to kill me, you can’t blame a girl for being prepared.”
He chuckled and finished setting up all the food. He pushed a plate and a cup of orange juice towards her as she sat at the island, ever-grateful she could start the day on an easy note.
“How are you feeling?“ he asked as he watched her enjoy that first bite a bit too much.
She swallowed, nodding. “Better now. Still have a killer headache, but I don’t feel like emptying my stomach now.”
“Good,” he smirked.
“Not that I don’t really appreciate it, but what are you doing here?”
He raised his brows. “Oh. Uh, I brought you home last night, and I just wanted to make sure you had some company this morning.”
She tilted her head. “Why’s that? Did you think I wasn’t going to make it?”
He quirked a brow, then went back to his breakfast. She straightened, watching him carefully until he glanced back up with a questioning look.
“You’re hiding something.”
“No, I’m not.”
She laughed. “If you think anyone on the team can get past me at this point, you’re sorely mistaken.”
He shook his head with a smile. “It’s nothing.”
“It’s something if you’re hiding it. What, did I do something super embarrassing?“
“Not embarrassing.”
“What was it?”
He paused. “I don’t want you to feel embarrassed.”
“I thought you said it wasn’t embarrassing?”
“It’s not, but…” he sighed with a light laugh. “I don’t want you to worry about it if it’s something you would be embarrassed by.”
“This is too much to think about this early in the morning.”
“It’s ten thirty.”
“Still. Just tell me.”
He swallowed another bite before looking back at her. He studied her face for a moment before finally speaking.
“When I was trying to take you home you said you didn’t want to go because you didn’t want to be alone. I didnt stay, but I wanted to make sure someone was here when you woke up, so I thought breakfast was a good option.”
Her eyes widened a little. “I’m so sorry.”
“For what?”
“You didn’t have to waste a Saturday morning dealing with me.”
“I’m more than happy to waste time with you.” She felt a heat in her cheeks, looking down to hide her growing smile. He stopped breathing for a moment after he left that slip, trying to even his voice before he spoke again.
“I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to—“
“It’s fine,” she reassured him. “I appreciate that. A lot, actually.”
He nodded, looking away from her.
Hotch headed home an hour later, leaving her to shower and reset from the night before, and needing time to reset himself.
He got home to his place of solitude, and planted himself on the couch. He closed his eyes, trying and miserably failing to block out the dangerous feelings he knew were beginning to blossom in full. As he contemplated the meaning of springtime as he neared the end of a years-long winter, all that came to mind was her face. The way she looked at him. The way she smelled when she was so close. How it felt holding her, even if it was simply to keep her from falling to the ground.
His apartment suddenly felt far too empty.
Three weeks later she burst through the doors of the house, not stopping until she found him. They’d all heard the gunshots, and immediately she wished Hotch hadn’t insisted on being the first inside before everyone else arrived. The second to last door in the hallway she kicked open with her gun drawn, heart dropping when she saw him sitting on the floor of the small bedroom.
“Hotch?” She rushed to him, crouching in front of him. “Are you okay?”
He nodded slowly. “I may have a concussion, but he’s dead.”
“What happened?”
“He put up a fight,” he replied with a sigh, looking at her with squinted eyes. “Slammed me into the wall pretty hard, but I was able to pull the gun on him.”
She gently rested her hand on the side of his face, tilting it to check the cut near his hairline.
Footsteps fell hard until they were in the room, Morgan and JJ audibly letting out breaths of relief. She turned to them.
“He needs a medic, but he’s going to be fine.”
He started trying to stand, but she stopped him in his tracks before he got far.
“You stay there.”
“I’m fine.”
“You’re concussed. You’re not getting up and running around right now.”
He set his brow. “I’ll be fine.”
“Once you see a medic, yes, you’ll be fine.”
He sighed, slumping against the wall. She quirked a brow at his little tantrum, though she made sure he was officially checked out before she was satisfied.
He sat with a blank expression as everyone finally stepped away from him, new bandages on his forehead making him look a little worse for wear.
“Satisfied, now?” he questioned.
She crossed her arms. “I seem to recall someone going the extra mile for a hangover a few weeks back. If you think I’m not returning that favor when you get a beat-down…”
“Hey, I didn’t get a beat-down.”
“He slammed you against a wall.”
He stared, unamused. She laughed a little, going to sit next to him.
“It’s okay to admit that you got hurt, you know? You don’t always have to be the big, strong boss-man.”
He smiled, looking down. “Strong, huh?”
“Okay, now I’m a little bit glad you got banged up.” His eyes widened in feigned shock, mouth dropped open. She paused, giving him a short shrug.
“I stand by the fact that you can be very mean,” he said at last.
“Says the most stubborn man I’ve ever met.”
“The most?”
“That might be an overstatement, but you’re still pretty high on the list,” she said with a chuckle, then jumped back down. “Let’s go show off your new bandages to the team. They’re gonna be so jealous.”
He failed to hide a smile, following after her as he realized he’d follow her anywhere she asked. She glanced back at him, noticing he looked a little too happy for someone who’d just been through what he had.
“What’s going on in that head of yours, Hotchner?”
He shrugged. “Nothing you need to worry about.”
“You concern me.”
“At least I know you care.”
She smiled, knowing her next sentence would be one she probably shouldn’t say.
“I always will.”
She woke up in a cold sweat, taking in deep breaths to try and steady her heart rate. She worked through all of the relaxation techniques she could think of, though none of it seemed to fully quell the anxious feeling that settled in her chest. She pulled her covers off, heading out into her kitchen to get some water, but it seemed that nothing was going to help.
Nightmares were always a never-ending reality that paired with her job, but sometimes they hit too close to reality. She couldn’t help but feel like she’d be at fault if she didn’t at least check on him.
She grabbed her phone from her bedroom, typing out a quick message:
‘Just want to make sure you’re doing okay. Hope all is well :)’
She set her phone down on the coffee table, curling up and turning on a tv show she hoped would provide some comfort, not expecting him to reply until morning. She was through the first episode when there was a soft knock on her door.  She furrowed her brow, walking over and looking through the peephole to see a familiar face.
“It’s one in the morning,” she said in a sigh.
He raised a brow. “Can I come in?”
She nodded, letting him walk past her as she closed and locked the door again. She followed after him until they were both seated on the couch.
“What are you doing?” she inquired.
“You never text me late at night unless it’s an emergency,” he said frankly, leaning back into the cushions.
She looked him over, now noticing the plain t-shirt paired with pajama pants featuring dogs in Christmas hats. She laughed, head tilting in question.
“Nice pants.”
He smirked. “Oh, right. They were a present from Jack.”
“They suit you.”
“Thanks,” he said, eyes widening a little. “Now, what’s wrong?”
She sighed, throwing her head back against the couch.
“My usual nightmares aren’t as bad as the one I had tonight is what’s wrong,” she shook her head as if to clear the memories that were stuck in her brain. “It was just… It was too real.”
“I’m sorry if I’m overstepping, but did it have anything to do with me, or did you just need someone to talk to?”
She smirked. “Both.”
“Hey,” he said gently, and she turned to look at him. “It was just a dream.”
“I know. You’ve just had too many close calls, and sometimes I worry it’s not going to be a close call next time something bad happens.”
“Tell me about it,” he said lowly.
She dropped her face into her hands. “Gosh, I’m sorry. I didn’t mean for it to sound like that.”
“It’s okay,” he said gently, though with humor in his voice. “I know it can be scary to worry about another person’s life like that. I appreciate that you care enough to have nightmares about it, if that helps.”
“Oh yeah, that makes it way better,” she said with a laugh.
He chuckled softly, eyes closing as he leaned his head back into the cushions. She watched him for a moment as he took some time to be at peace. She watched the rise and fall of his chest, and the way his face softened.
“Can I ask you something?” she said quietly, not wanting to disturb the moment.
He hummed, eyes still closed.
“Why did you come all the way here? What happened to Jack?”
He peeked open one eye, glancing at her. A little mischievous smile graced his face.
“He’s on a camping trip with his grandparents, and I just wanted to bother you.”
“Uh huh,” she said with a roll of her eyes. “You’re not a great liar, Hotchner.”
He sat up straighter now, turning towards her.
“I honestly don’t know. I saw the message and just…” he shrugged, trailing off. “I just came.”
She felt a horrible feeling in that moment, the truth crashing the walls of the reality she’d built around herself. She wanted nothing more than to lean over and kiss him.
Instead, she simply nodded.
“I’ll take it,” she smiled softly, not able to meet his eyes for fear that she would be too weak to look away again.
She stood, looking around the space.
“Did you want to crash here for the night? My couch is surprisingly comfortable.”
He smiled. “As much as I would appreciate that, I don’t want to overstep.”
She shook her head as she walked away. He looked on in confusion until she came back with pillows and blankets gathered in her arms and dropped it on the couch.
“I’ll see you in the morning. Sleep well,” she said curtly, giving him another smile before she forced herself to walk away.
He watched until her door was just barely cracked open before he set up camp in her living room. He settled in for the night, turning off the lamp on the side table, and ignoring the swelling in his chest at the thought of having the most ridiculous sleepover at her home.
He woke to the smell of coffee, almost shocked that he had slept through the night. His eyes still felt heavy, but he felt well-rested. He stretched out on the couch, not noticing when she walked into the room, still donning her pajamas.
“Good morning, sunshine,” she said with a smile, setting a mug down on the coffee table.
He sat up, allowing her space to take a seat next to him as he took up his mug. He furrowed his brow after tasting it, looking to her for an answer.
“How do you know how I like my coffee?”
“I’m good at my job,” she said with a shrug. “Did you sleep okay?”
He nodded. “One of the best nights of sleep I’ve gotten in a very long time.”
“I told you the couch was comfortable.”
He chuckled. “You were right.”
“As always.”
“As always,” he confirmed, looking at her.
She wore a surprised look on her face.
“Really? Now is when you choose to agree?”
“This coffee is really good,” he replied after a beat.
“I have cereal if you’re hungry.”
“We have time to pick something up on the way to work if you’d prefer?”
“Only if it’s on you.”
He laughed. “How else am I supposed to repay you for letting me sleep on your couch?”
They sat in a comfortable silence until their mugs were empty. She slowly turned her head towards him.
“If we’re going to work together, what do you plan on wearing?”
He looked down, suddenly realizing his predicament.
She continued. “Not that you aren’t rocking the puppy pajamas, I just don’t know if that’s necessarily in the dress code.”
He smiled, groaning as he shut his eyes again.
“Maybe we should just change the dress code,” he suggested.
“Or we could stop by your place and then get breakfast.”
He nodded. “That would be wonderful.”
She stood from the couch. “Do you want another cup?”
“Please,” he replied with a nod as he followed her to the kitchen.
They filled their mugs, tailoring them to their liking, though he made a false sour face as he tasted his.
“Mm, it’s better when you make it,” he said, hiding a smile behind the rim of the mug.
She laughed. “You are so full of it.”
They finished their second round, and she got ready quickly so they would have plenty of time for their morning plans. She tried putting it out of her head as she occupied herself with her morning roughing. Aaron wasn’t so lucky. He sat on her couch, looking around the space, but unable to keep his mind off of her. He was comfortable. Too comfortable, to the point of feeling a safety with her he didn’t expect to ever feel again.
They stepped into the bureau with full stomachs and hearts as a result of their morning together. He allowed himself to feel all of his joy with her in the last moments before he had to put on his work-self and get to business as usual. It seemed like a stronger contrast than what he had become accustomed to. She gave him one last smile and wave as she left for her desk, needing to shut that part of her brain down when she was meant to be working.
Then again, she didn’t know how she could fully shut it down. Something had changed, and it certainly wasn’t in the same way it had when she’d grown close to her other coworkers.
JJ was the first to notice something was off that morning. She was happier, which was wonderful in JJ’s eyes, but also a little more spaced out. Soon, the bullpen was abuzz with theories as to what had gotten her so distracted.
Fortunately for their need for information, it wasn’t hard to figure out once they saw their boss in the exact same state.
The team never liked hostage situations, but when it came after a case that felt like a massive win, this particular situation felt like a punch in the gut. They all piled into the jet, heading across the states until they reached their destination.
Hotch never liked sending his agents into dangerous situations. His personal gut-punch moment was when he had to send in the most capable agent for the job at hand: Y/N. Unarmed and vulnerable.
His chest rose and fell heavily as she skillfully talked down the unsub, though not before she’d been hit in the face and kicked in the ribs.  The second she gave the signal that it would be safe to rescue the hostages, he couldn’t help but feel drawn towards her. His duty was to the hostages first, and he knew that, though the team had other ideas.
“Hey,” Morgan started softly, as they stepped through the doors. “We all know. Go get her, we got the rest of them.”
“I don’t—“
“Hotch,” Morgan stopped him with a word. “Get her.”
Aaron stopped in his tracks when he made eye contact with her, knowing that even if he hadn’t been reassured that the others would be taken care of, he’d still run to her before anyone else.  She smiled as he jogged over, holding onto her side with one arm, and wrapping the other arm around him the second he was close enough. She felt the smallest kiss pressed to the top of her head as he held her.
“Are you okay?” he asked quietly, not yet pulling away from her.
“I’m okay. I’ll get checked out to be sure, but I feel fine,” she replied, resting her head against his chest.
He smiled, remembering the night he took her home from the club, finding himself in a very similar situation now.
He paused. “They know.”
She scrunched her face in confusion, looking up at him in bewilderment.
He smiled. “Too vague?”
“Yes.”
“Morgan… He said they all know.”
“Know what?”
“The thing I think we’ve both been dancing around.”
She looked down, face feeling warm, but not in a bad way. He called her gently, encouraging her to look back at him.
“You’ve done more for me than I think you realize,” he whispered, holding her close.
“I—“ she trailed off, suddenly feeling nervous to say it out loud.
He nodded. “I know. Me too.”
She burrowed back into his arms, relishing in the feeling of being fully enveloped by him, and smiling as she realized what she’d been trying to hide had failed completely.
She took a deep breath, speaking just barely loud enough for him to hear over the sound of his heart pounding in his ears.
“I am so in love with you.”

Jackson on Kinjaz
Tumblr media
Your phone was blowing up constantly.
„Oh my god, did you see this?????“, your friend asked.
With shaking hands you clicked on the link.
Tumblr media
„I used to be critical on myself in my mind in a negative way. Not healthy. At all. I would call myself names and put myself down in my mind. I drank the most disgusting shakes for my body health but up here? I was rotting.“
„Yeah, yeah. I remember videos of that nasty shake. What did you put in there - chicken?“
„Gotta get my protein, man. But you know I would constantly feel guilty for what I have done or what I might do.“
„Like what?“
„Like. Okay, like did I practice enough? Is magic man good enough? What if I let everybody down? How will I cope? How will I live?
All these voices.. these fucking nagging voices were with me 24/7.“
„Damn that sounds tough. What did you do?“
„I thought it was impossible to fix because I tried so hard and nothing changed me. Or if it did, it would only last a couple of weeks and I’d be back to feeling like shit and talking down on myself.
Jackson, you moron, how could you do this? Did you really think you could make it? You don’t deserve this success. You don’t deserve to be happy.“
„Jackson, bro. I feel for you. Really.“
„Look, I’m just being honest. I would naturally think of punishments coming my way. I’d imagine injuring myself or loosing all my fans or money. I’d think of the most horrific shit late at night when I should be peacefully sleeping.
I would try to change my thoughts to change my feeling. I would rationalize my way out for hours to only find myself entering a new cave.“
„Like a merry go round.“
„Exactly, I was stuck. Same shit, different day. My gut always had this underlying feeling of tension.
I tried my best to give myself relief but like I said, I could not find Relief for longer than a week. Maybe a month at best.“
„Is that why you turned to alcohol? Because I remember you chugging down a bottle of Hennessy and thought to myself that’s not normal.“
„Oh, of course I started drinking more. I needed more. What used to make me pass out back then is like a cute little cocktail to me now.“
„Damn, that really is a lot to handle. Did you try other things, as well?“
„Look, I tried everything in the book. You name it, I tried it. Worked out. Meditated. Drank. Had sex. Nothing could give me what I craved so badly. Nothing. Until I found her.“
You swallowed hard.
You had no idea that he would share all this with the public. You were very well aware of his struggles but hearing him talk about them upset you. It broke your heart imagining him like that, all dim and broken.
Also, it made you nervous.
You had no idea that he would introduce you into the world like this.
You had no idea that he would reveal your relationship to his homies on a podcast.
Yet, you were intrigued.
„Her as in …?“
„You see, love is a funny thing, right? I didn’t plan to fall in love, nor did I want to but I kind of did. I found the one, man. I found the love of my life and I was lucky enough to have her love me back. Do you know how rare that is?“
„Yeah, it is for you. I remember our last interview and how we wanted to get you on tinder and shit.“
„Exactly! I used to be on my own for years. Years, man. I gave up on love completely, thinking this was meant for others but certainly not me. And then she came into my life. Like an angel that was coming down to help me. Save me even.“
„Your savior, huh?“
„I swear to god her love saved me. It saved me from drugs, it saved me from self destruction and first and foremost it saved me from myself. I gotta be honest man, if I hadn’t met y/n I wouldn’t even be here anymore.“
„Wow. That’s, that’s a pretty heavy revelation. I’m glad you’re doing better now.“
„Oh, I am. Management is probably going to kick my ass later but I don’t care. Let me loose fans, let me loose money. I don’t give a shit. If you support me now, you support the real Jackson Wang. And that’s me right now - happily coupled to the most beautiful soul on this planet. If you can’t handle that - my bad.“
„Okay guys, it’s over. China‘s most wanted bachelor is officially off the market. WHOOOO!!“
„Yeah, the king has finally found its queen.“
„So, what is she like?“
You paused the interview and took a deep breath. Jackson was very vocal of his feelings for you, but hearing it like that felt different. The biggest smile was plastered on his face as he was talking about you.
You as in his queen.
You as in future Miss Wang.
Hundreds of butterflies announced themselves in your stomach, making you giddy and joyful.
„Oh man, she is the best. Like, she is so breathtakingly beautiful. Inside and out. We have the best conversations. I feel like she is my best friend. Truly, no one gets me like she does. It’s just.. it’s effortlessly easy. We laugh a lot, we talk a lot, we share everything with each other. I’m just so grateful, man.“
„Yeah, I can see that. You’re grinning from ear to ear. Make sure to invite me to your wedding.“
„Like you invited me to your birthday?“
„Okayyyyy, let’s wrap it up. Guys, that’s it for today. Thank you Jackson, really appreciate you brother.“
You stopped the video, giggling at your petty boyfriend.
„Remind me to have a word with you once you’re back, yeah?“, you texted him.
It didn’t take him a second to instantly call you.
„Did you see it? Already? Damn babygirl, you’re quick“, he teased.
„You could have warned me, Wang!“
„I didn’t plan to say all that but I couldn’t help myself. It just.. it just came out of me. I really meant it though.“
„Everything?“
He knew exactly what you were implying.
„Oh, I’m gonna make you Miss Wang for sure. Rule my kingdom with me? Please?“

Note
It isn't much of an ask, as more of a thank you.
Your heavier toned sea grunk comic with Stan discussing his thoughts of suicide has always held a place in my heart.
I started into the fandom around January 2022, and was pretty introverted getting into it. At that time, I was around 13 years into my undiagnosed depression, and failed one attempt to end it in that span. My introverted nature and being so warped kept me from wanting to engage with others from the fandom. I figured I was an outsider with more issues than what could be handled, and no one would be there for me(and I wouldn't blame them).
I didn't think that around July 2022, people would begin reaching out to me, understanding me, and accepting me. I found kindred spirits and my family. And in September, my best friend found me. She is the Ford to my Stan. She has stuck by me and loved me when I have been unlovable and it wasn't required. And we bonded over our favorite guys of course. She got me into Tumblr, and this was one of the first comics that I saw, and it made me bawl. It felt like talking to my best friend face to face, even 500 miles apart.
Then, shifting into December 17, 2023, I tried again to go, standing in the freezing night on the edge of the local bridge, seeing the dark, and waiting to embrace it. And everything that I loved flooded me in that darkness: My best friend, all my friends I had made, my family, and this comic. Stan felt that way, but he held on, because he got Ford back. It was part of why I stepped down, and just sat for awhile, and took the time to finally get help. Those feelings are now distant and rare when I reached out for proper help.
Even now, I'm struggling, but not wanting to be in that place again. Just feeling like I'm inadequate as a spouse, but we are both working through it. It has been difficult the last few weeks, and this comic emerges again today, and flooded me all over again with the reminder that Stan chose to live, even if it was hell for a long time, and I can do it too.
So, if you haven't fallen asleep on me yet, I just wanted to thank you for making this comic. And for all of them. It resonates with me deeply, and frequently more than you'll ever know, and at points, has kept me here.
Thank you 👉👈
🥺🥺 Oh wow. I don't know what to really say but thank you for opening up and telling your story. I know it can be really hard to open up like that. It makes me happy to hear that things have gotten a lot better, even if it's not 100%.
That comic was a spur of the moment kind of thing because I was originally going to make just a vent post of myself but then something about wanting to get out particular thoughts I've had through Stan seemed like a better approach. Perhaps this could come as a bit of surprise to some but as much art of Ford I've done, Stan is actually the favorite of the two.
I kind of thought that comic was going to be my last at the time. My mind spiraled pretty bad during that time last year and figured that it wasn't worth trying to say how I've been and just leave because I genuinely believed I was better off no longer being part of the Fandom. I still think I do on some days but seeing messages like these or even small encouraging ones is enough to think I am still worthy enough to stay.

RRAAAAHHH MY FIRST ASK!!!! (Omfg tysm u don’t know how happy this makes me :3 )
Lemme get this straight.. a moth hybrid! male reader x Werewolf! Johnny (Soap) Mactavish?? Ill see what i can do!!
(Inspired by the Monster AU by whisperrwarm on X, when I say INSPIRED I mean, not everything is the same!)
Characters:
John (Soap) Mactavish: A Werewolf
Simon (Ghost) Riley: A Wendigo
Captain John Price: A Dragon
Male Y/N: A Moth
Just a cute wee pudgy lad :3
Tumblr media
Tw: Swearing, suggestive content, Male x Male
Since Anonymous wanted M! Y/N to be pudgy, I imagine that he would have the shape of something like this:
Tumblr media
Moth Dust
(A Johnny (Soap) Mactavish x Male! Reader fic)
You, LN, FN, (last name, first name), who would have thought out of all possibilities of hybrids, you would be a moth. Not that its a bad thing, it was just rather annoying though.. you were picked on constantly because of it, your hight, your looks, and what made you insecure the most, your weight.
Not that you were huge, but you were fun sized, the perfect love handles, and the loveliest thing of all, your thick thighs. Aye, its like they say, ‘Thick Thighs Save Lives!’ You tend to hide your moth features though, fearing that a hybrid with predatoristic features might harm you.
I mean.. c’mon, you were a moth and there were damned stronger mutants out there.. its like the food chain with normal animals, and as embarrassing as it was, many things ate bugs. And what are you a hybrid of? A bug. Well.. a domesticated silk moth to be more specific, but still!
Being a moth you were fluffy and small, and well.. adorable. But you never though of yourself as that short.. until you joined the military that is-
“Bloody fucking christ! How fucking big does a man need to be here?!?” You thought to yourself once you actually saw how large the men in Task Force 141 where. There was one in particular who stood intimidated you from his height, Simon Riley, better known here as Ghost, and he stood a strong 6’2”!!
He could easily fucking squish you like the bug you are if he wanted! You were intimidated by the other men slightly, I mean, c’mon! Your captain is a fuckin Dragon for Christ sake!
But wow… boy were they lookers though- there was one in particular who stood out to you the most, he looked like a dog hybrid, but that didn’t seem right for some reason? What stood out to you the most was those elegant.. enticing.. wonderful blue eyes… wait. What the hell? Were you staring? Oh shit, didn’t anyone see you staring at him?
Your mind was racing at the thought of being caught staring. “Did anyone see that? Shit- did he see that?!” You thought to yourself, more like mentally screamed at yourself, but still..
(Not finished, currently busy, will finish soon!)

All The Things I Did (Interlude): The One Thing I've Been Wanting
Tumblr media
a/n: wow oh wow i think you guys are going to love this one. another mini novel featuring all the emotions and filth you could ever ask for. john and cass have their formal wedding in south carolina that he always promised her they would. a few little easter eggs in there i hope you guys want to scream at me about. hope you all enjoy, happy reading and love you endlessly!
warning: smut
In May 1946, almost one year to the day that John Egan hung an American flag in the middle of Germany, he was sat in a plush hotel room in Charleston, South Carolina looking at a photo of himself in a smattering of local newspapers and even The New York Times. Locally it was the front page, nationally a column right in the economics section. The headlines ranged from proclamations of a fairytale come true to rumors on how the match would affect the valuation of the Cooper empire.
He liked the picture they had all chosen though. It was from a photocall Mrs. Cooper had insisted they do just last week. Cass had worn a beautiful forest green skirt and white silk blouse, her smile perfectly measured across her face. There had been a bit of commotion over what John should wear. He wasn’t set to pin on Lieutenant Colonel until June and the communications team had proposed stalling the wedding until his new rank could be proudly displayed in the photographs. Might I politely remind you he is already my husband. If you make me wait one second longer to appease people with this party you will not enjoy the sight was how Cass chose to handle it. In this setting, one completely new and foreign to the boy from Manitowoc, he was entirely reliant on her to guide him.
In the final image, she was looking at the camera but he was looking at her. It was fitting. He was merely a planet orbiting around her sun. He looked stricken by her beauty and nothing could have been closer to the truth.
“Come in,” he called at the knock on the door. He folded the paper and tossed it onto the coffee table.
“You about ready to get out there? Don’t want Spook thinking you ran away.” Gale clicked the door closed and stood watching his friend. “You’re nervous.” It was a statement rather than a question.
“I don’t know why. I’ve been married to her for almost three years. Today is just a societal formality.” Marrying in secret in London was not how women like Cass were supposed to carry themselves, according to her mother. If no one was there to see it then they wouldn’t believe it. “Just…what if something changes?”
“What if something changes? Bucky, you two are still going to be the same people tonight as you were this morning. You’re still going to love the wits out of that girl just like she loves the wits out of you.” John stood and started to pace around the room.
“I know that. I know how I feel and how she feels won’t change but it’s now so formal. And there’s an audience and my wedding is in The Times, Buck, the goddamn Times!”
“The photo did look wonderful,” Gale pointed out as he nodded towards the papers on the table. “Your wife doesn’t need all this if you don’t want it, John. I am pretty certain that girl would run away with you to a farm out West if you asked her to.”
“No,” he shook his head, “all of this is good to be sure she is always provided for. When we have kids, they won’t want for anything.” Wealth like this was almost unmoveable during the Depression. John had been in college for the worst of it. Had seen the toll it took on his family and the people around them. Cass and he could make sure their kids never had to worry about that.
“When and not if, huh?”
“Buck, you of all people should know we aren’t exactly celibate.” Gale didn’t need the reminder. All too often he had found himself pleading for a moment of respite with the two of them. It didn’t matter when or where, he would run out of fingers and toes trying to count the sanctified places those two had breached. “She’s going to be the best mother.”
“And you’re going to be the best father.” John and Cass had spent the past year filling in all the blanks their time apart had forced upon them. They had gone to Wyoming for Gale and Marge’s wedding and not a single incident had occurred. It was as if John had never gotten on a plane to avenge Gale that day. They were so in love they talked about having a baby in nine months, talked about the perfect house to raise them in. Talked about names and nursery colors.
But then they had gone to visit his family in Wisconsin. And something had snapped. All the anger they had hidden from each other in the name of surviving the cold German winter had bubbled to the surface viciously. All the anger he had harbored towards her for putting herself in danger would not lay dormant any longer. Anger that every night when he closed his eyes he had prayed to keep his wife safe, that John could take any pain as long as she was spared, and she had negated it all without a thought. Anger that she had wasted almost two years of her life running herself ragged to maintain their relationship and he had been able to do nothing in return. Anger that no matter the horrors he had inflicted upon people, the horrors of Stalag Luft that kept him up at night, the horrors of not knowing who you were looking at in the mirror, that she didn’t find someone better.
“Buck, I’m sorry you weren’t there the first time Cass and I did this. But I am happy you’re here for this one. I couldn’t ask for a better best man.” John pulled him into a hug, clapping his back a few times.
“I only agreed to see you cry when you get a glimpse of her.”
“Yeah? You’ve seen her?” She had put him under strict orders that he was not to see her the morning of their wedding. Had even made John sleep by himself. He was missing her desperately at this point.
“She said the dress was a family heirloom. You didn’t manage to sneak out a parachute?” John blushed and looked at his feet.
“You’ll make fun of me if I tell you.” He had. They had just agreed to save it for a more special occasion.
“Not on your wedding day.”
“Cass had the idea that it might make a nice christening gown one day.” Wait until Marge hears how John Egan has gone all domestic on us Gale thought with a smile. “Did she get the gift I left for her?” It was a silver locket, the date and a note that simply said I love you and his name on the back, a photo of the two of them in Wyoming neatly placed inside.
“It’s her something new,” Gale answered. Her dress was something old, her mother’s diamond headband something borrowed and she had taken the time to stitch her favorite line from Blue Skies inside her skirt in blue thread. Gale cleared his throat. “She told me to pass along that you would get your gift from her…tonight.” All the girls had giggled furiously when Cass had asked him to pass along the message. There couldn’t have been a better man for the job.
“I think her asking you to tell me that is a gift all in itself, Buck.”
----
Cass was sat in front of the vanity mirror, admiring how her new necklace looked with a smile. She had already married John, had been through more life with him than any other couple she knew, but the prospect of the day still had butterflies in her stomach. It was the kind of day that flitted across her dreams as she had grown up. Wondering what kind of dress she would wear. What the ring on her hand would look like. Who would be waiting for her at the end of the aisle. Never before would she have pictured a man like John Egan but now not a day went by where she didn’t think of him and was waiting for both of them at the end of that aisle.
“Ma’am, all the guest have been seated and Major Egan is making his way to the altar in-”
“I’d like to see him.” Maybe that was what she needed to calm her nerves. Some needed whiskey or cigarettes but she just needed John. “He doesn’t need to see me, I just need to see him.”
And that was how, on his way to walk down the aisle, he was dragged into a room and told to sit patiently while the woman in charge of ensuring this entire wedding went off without a hitch, tied black fabric over his eyes.
“Is this really necessary?” he asked once his vision was completely obscured.
“Yes. Mrs. Egan requested it.” Gale sighed as the woman used Cass’ new last name. It always opened the door to something unscrupulous.
“Mrs. Egan,” John repeated with a wicked grin. “Mrs. Cassandra Ann Egan. My wife.” He wasn’t ashamed to admit that he had asked Cass to write her new name for him just so he could relish in how it looked. How naturally her wrist and fingers moved to draft the letters. It was spectacularly wonderful and he was addicted.
“Gale? Is he successfully blinded yet?” Cass was getting impatient on the other side of the bedroom door. She could hear her husband and she could feel him. It was like torture not being able to see him or touch him.
“Spook?” John got up and turned in the direction of her voice, his shins colliding with a coffee table almost instantly. “Motherfucker!”
“I’m giving you two…” Gale ran through the numbers in his head. He had seen the feral acts the two of them were capable of committing in less than five minutes. Anything more than thirty seconds seemed like they would be consummating a marriage that hadn’t happened yet. “Forget it. You two wouldn’t listen to me anyways. Just remember your parents are right outside!” Gale escorted the planner out and shut the door behind him, a stillness settling over the suite.
“Cass, baby, they’re gone. Can I take this-”
“Absolutely not!” Her voice was no longer muffled as she opened the door and took in the sight of him. Her beautiful, handsome man. Hers and hers alone. The man she had fought for and lived for and loved every day no matter how treacherous. “We have done absolutely nothing the traditional way. Let me have this, please?” John never was too good at denying her anything.
“Fine, then let me have a kiss at least.” Cass gathered her skirt with a small giggle as he stood there awaiting her with his arms open. She pecked him quickly and he leaned forward in a chase for more. “I’m dying, Cass. You didn’t let me see you after dinner last night and now you’re right here in front of me and I can just tell you look heaven sent and now you want to tease me?”
“I’m just so happy right now, Johnny.” Now that name only fell from her lips when the emotions in her chest were too much to even say his name. Whether she was sad or angry or blinded by happiness. He had gotten so used to hearing John that anything different locked him in on a dime.
“I’m happy, too. Get to marry you all over again.” He felt a little better when her hands rested on his chest, his wrapping around her waist and pulling her as close as he could. His palms could feel lace until her hips and then silk. Maybe a bow at the top of her skirt. “I love you, Cass. Making things grandly official today won’t change anything about us. We’ll still sing as loud as we can in the car and share ice cream on the beach and count stars when we can’t fall asleep.” Her soul warmed when he said the exact words she had needed to hear, not knowing how John had ached with the need to say them.
“Those sound like the vows you should be saving for later.”
“I can think of a thousand ways to vow to love you forever, don’t you worry.” She indulged him in a proper kiss then, careful not to mess his perfectly coiffed curls and John restraining himself from tearing at the buttons going up her spine. Everything felt heightened, John unable to anticipate her next move with the fabric covering his eyes.
“What did I do to deserve you?” she asked softly as she knocked her nose against his. “You are so beautiful, inside and out, and intellectual and selfless and meet all my weaknesses with strength...”
“Sounds like a soulmate,” he whispered. “I can’t wait to do forever with you.”
“We deserve it, my love.”
----
John held his breath as he waited at the altar, all eyes on him as everyone waited for the orchestra to begin playing as a signal of Cass’ arrival. He fiddled with the front of his jacket, ensuring it was straight and smooth, smiling when he caught Olivia and Jill giggling at him from their spots across from him.
“Your sister is trying to kill me with anticipation,” he whisper-yelled.
“She’ll make it worth your time, Major,” Olivia teased. Buck clapped John on the shoulders just as the first notes of the Bridal Chorus began to sing through the grove of Spanish Moss trees.
“Here we go,” Gale said lovingly. Everyone stood and John breathed deeply as Cass’ niece, Jessie, slowly walked down the aisle with a shy grin, tossing rose petals as she did. Her brother Sammy was next to her, two silver rings on a plush pillow in his grip. John squatted down to be at their level as they approached.
“Thank you, princess. You look so pretty.” Jessie threw her arms around him as best she could.
“Thank you, Uncle John.” She ran off to take her seat by her father just as she’d been instructed to at the rehearsal.
“Sir.” Sammy summoned all seven years of stature he had in him to stand at attention.
“At ease, Sammy,” John chuckled. The young boy had fancied himself a future soldier. Had been amazed when he found out John was a real pilot just like in his comic books. “My best man, Major Cleven, is going to take those rings and keep them very safe.” Gale took them gently and locked them into his breast pocket.
“Good work, Sammy.” Buck saluted him with a smile and the little boy was off in the same direction as his sister. John stood to his full height and squared his shoulders, his eyes sharpening their focus on the ornate wooden doors that hid his love from his sight.
And when they opened.
And when she lifted her veiled face to look at him, finally.
And when their eyes met and their smiles matched and the tears welled in his eyes…
Everything felt right in the world.
Cass kept her eyes on him as she held her fathers arm down the aisle. She had to slip her bottom lip between her teeth to keep from giggling with glee at the sight of John waiting for her. As she got closer, she could see the glassiness in his eyes. He was always so strong. Her stability in this world. The man who had her back through anything with no questions asked. The one person in the universe that loved her unconditionally and with no strings attached and in the exact way that she needed to be loved.
“Do you give this woman to be married to this man?” John was itching to lift her veil and kiss her senseless now that she was this close to him.
“I do,” her father spoke with pride.
“I love you, Daddy,” she whispered as he pulled her into a hug.
And then finally it was just the two of them.
And then finally he was able to hold her hand and help her up the final step to stand across from him.
And then finally his shaking fingers found the lace trim of her veil and he finally exhaled as he lifted it over her head. Her eyes were full of adoration as she looked up at him.
“Hi,” he whispered. His hands landed on her cheeks and her hands rested against his chest.
“I’ve been missing those eyes.” Her own twinkled in kind. John leaned in, he couldn’t help himself, the officiant clearing his throat to stop them.
“We are gathered here today to witness the sacred union of John Clarence Egan and Cassandra Ann Cooper,” they smirked at each other. She hadn’t gone by her maiden name in almost three years. Not since London. “We stand here to honor and celebrate the love shared between these two people, as they come together to start their new life with a solemn vow, surrounded by their closest family and friends.”
A journey of love. Their love had already survived so much. From the moment their eyes had locked on an airfield in England, it had strengthened to withstand the tests of time. Their journey had taken them to the darkest corners of humanity the world had to offer. Had forced them to make difficult decisions in the name of survival. But all those decisions had led them here. All the darkness had led to this overwhelming light. Neither of them would change a thing.
A journey of understanding. They had come together and been torn apart and brought back together. And every stage had led them to becoming a new version of the person they had fallen in love with. They worked hard each and every single day to understand who was sitting across from them. Who was looking at them through the mirror. They had been off kilter for a little while but would always find their balance.
A journey of perseverance. This was the easiest for them to feel when they looked at each other. They were both stubborn. Bull-headed in their pursuit of survival and a life after war. Aggressively unable to give up on each other. Relentlessly devoted to the forever that they had promised each other.
“...and dedication to one another that lasts through time. As we stand here today to mark this occasion, we remember that what matters most is not the ceremony itself, but the love and companionship you will continue to share throughout your married life together.” John squeezed her hands. “There are no vows more meaningful and powerful than those which will be shared here today. Your wedding vows are a sacred declaration of your love for each other, the foundation of your relationship as a married couple, and the life you want to build together.” Cass thanked her sister as she handed her the piece of paper her vows were on, turning back to face John and letting his gaze give her the strength to lay bare her emotions.
“John, my blue sky, my love. From the moment I saw you, I couldn’t shake you. You were the first person in a long time to see me. To see all my faults and jagged edges and not to look away but to meet them like a perfect puzzle piece. Where I am weak, you are strong and you have spent everyday making me feel loved and safe and happy in ways words cannot capture.” John used his thumb to wipe a tear from her face and stroked his knuckles up and down her cheek for good measure. “I wouldn’t trade a single moment with you for anything in the world. Even the tough ones, even the painful ones, even the ones where I thought I was going to lose you. Because we’ve already proven our love can face anything and come out stronger on the other side. That forever will only be the beginning for us. And doing life with you, John Egan, will be the honor of my life.” Cass dabbed at the tears under her eyes, John knocking his forehead against hers.
“That was so beautiful, baby. I love you so much and-”
“Major Egan, you could just say your vows.” Gale smiled. Finally someone was getting a taste of what he had dealt with. He handed John the piece of paper and sent a wink in Marge’s direction. John looked down at the paper and swallowed before handing it back to Gale.
“Bucky-”
“I’d rather just tell you, Cass, how I feel in this exact moment because I have never been more in love with you.” She giggled as he held both her hands and locked his baby blues onto her eyes. “I fall more and more in love with you every second that I am with you. You are the reason I survived everything we went through, my love. The reason I made it through to the other side was because I knew that was where a future with you was waiting for me. You had this flyboy dreaming of growing roots from the moment I saw you. From the moment I saw you at a pub with your nose buried in a book, I knew I was done for. I knew you were going to challenge me and make me work to earn your love and it was so worth it, Cass, is still so worth it. We are going to build the most amazing life together, our own little solar system, and I will fight for you and our future every day, Cass. I promise.”
“And you’ve never broken a promise,” she whispered as the tears flowed freely down her face.
“I don’t plan on starting now, Spook…Can I kiss her yet, Father?” A gentle laugh rippled throughout the crowd around the tears they were wiping away.
“Soon, Major. Repeat after me.”
“I, John Clarence Egan, take you Cassandra Ann Egan to be my wedded wife.”
“I, Cassandra Ann Egan, take you John Clarence Egan, to be my wedded husband.”
“I promise to stand by your side through good times and bad times…”
“...for richer or poorer…”
“...in sickness and in health.”
“I vow to stay true to you and love you…”
“...unconditionally for the rest of my days.” They both finished with a smile, drifting closer and closer to each other as the words wrapped around them. There was no daylight between their torsos as she threaded her fingers through the hair at the nape of his neck and he locked his fingers at the small of her back.
“Do you, John Clarence Egan, take this woman to be your wedded wife?”
“I do,” he said just to her, his blue eyes molten pool of crystalline love.
“Do, Cassandra Ann Cooper, take this man to be your wedded husband?”
“I do,” her heart skipping a beat as John licked his lips.
“It is now time for you to exchange rings. Your rings symbolize the eternal commitment that you make to each other, and the never ending circle of your love. May these rings always remind you of the commitment you are making here today.” Gale handed each of them a ring, John taking Cass’ left hand tenderly.
“I, John Clarence Egan, give you, Cassandra Ann Egan, this ring as a symbol of my love and commitment to you.” The silver band fit perfectly on her finger, John swiping his thumb over it a few times to ensure it was real. That after everything they had been through, the two of them were right where they had always wanted to be.
“I, Cassandra Ann Egan, give you, John Clarence Egan, this ring as a symbol of my love and commitment to you.” The band looked at home on his hand. Like he was always meant to be claimed as hers.
“By the power vested in me, I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may-” He wasn’t able to get the word out as their noses bumped together in the urgency to connect their lips. Cheers erupted from the guests and he held her tighter and tighter and tighter against his body and she slipped her tongue into his mouth, John groaning with ecstasy. “It is with great honor that I present you Mr. and Mrs. John Egan!” Cass giggled as John dipped her triumphantly, his lips pressed to the side of her head as they faced the adoring mass in front of them. Her one hand was gripped tightly by his, the other holding her skirt, as they made their way back to the doors that led inside.
“Mr. and Mrs. Egan, congratulations! We have the reception area-”
“I think I need to change out of my dress, first,” Cass said to the woman but looking at John. Her fingers were already loosening his tie. “Would you like to help me, Mr. Egan?” He nodded wordlessly, catching her chin between his thumb and pointer finger.
“Don’t wait for us to start the party, ma’am. I’m going to take my time with my wife.”
----
The door to her suite slammed shut behind them and he was on her in an instant. They couldn’t help but laugh into each other’s lips as their noses collided, and her hair was falling out of its style and his hat landed on the ground.
“You make me so happy,” she whispered as her fingers carded through his curls, tossed his tie to the side and slowly began to undo the buttons of his jacket. “I love you so much, John Egan. Just the way you are.” John brought his hands, delicately, to the diamond headband in her hair, lifting gently and placing it on the table by the door.
“There was a time I would have done anything to hear you say those words.” She whined as he kissed her once then pulled away. Cass pushed his jacket off his shoulders. “I thought, after I heard them for the first time, that feeling would go away. I’d still do anything just to hear you say you love me.”
“I love you. I’m in love with you. I love you.” Her arm hooked around his neck and dragged him down to her lips, his hand fumbling to free her hair from the confines of her veil and pins.
“If I can’t get your hair out of this riddle…” Her kisses were doing nothing to help his concentration. And her hands on his belt buckle were doing even less.
“You haven’t even seen the complex feminine garments that are under this dress yet,” she teased.
“Cass, I’ll just fucking rip it off of you if you aren’t careful.” She reached her hand towards her hair, pulling one pin for it to cascade around her shoulders in bountiful waves. “How in God’s name…”
“You were going to get started on the buttons of my dress, Major?”
Thankfully, he was able to compose himself long enough to undo them without tearing the lace of her dress. The release of her corset and stockings allowed her to take a full breath and John lifted her into his arms, her legs around his waist and her chest between his lips.
“So, so beautiful,” he muttered in a daze as he laid her on the bed. “And all mine.”
“Let me see what’s all mine,” she breathed as she sat up and kissed down his chest, his fingers undoing the buttons of his dress shirt as quickly as he could possibly manage. She paid extra to kiss exactly where his heart would be. “This right here is the part I’m most honored to have.” She pressed her hand flat and he placed his on top.
“It’s all yours. Every last beat.”
Their kisses were sloppy and impatient as they were both fully bare, John crawling to hover over her and kissing a long line down, down, down. He kissed her clit softly, her fingers threading into his curls instantly. He moved oh so slowly and oh so softly and with direct intention behind every flick of his tongue and curl of his finger inside of her. “All mine,” he repeated.
“All yours, John,” she panted. Her hips lifted ever so slightly off the bed, his forearm pressing them back down into the mattress with force.
“You’re so pretty when you cum for me.” Two of his fingers curled against the spot that made her muscles quiver. “That’s my girl.” Cass propped herself onto her elbows to look him in the eye, exactly the way she knew he liked, as his thumb pressed against her clit in the same rhythm as his fingers.
“Oh, fuck, John. Faster.” He obliged. Watched in wonder as her moan caught in her throat and her chest blossomed with the flush of her orgasm. Her hips squirmed as she came back to reality but his fingers weren’t stopping.
“Want you to make a mess for me, baby.” Ever since he had first learned he could coax arousal from her in such a way, he had been focused on working it out of her again. “Think you could do that for me?”
“Yes, Johnny.” His fingers went deeper and faster and curled against the front of her with a sense of purpose only she would be able to inspire in him. Her hands gripped at her breasts as she moaned.
“Good girl. Just let yourself go, baby.” She gasped as her hips bucked again, John could hear the change in his fingers pumping in and out of her. Cass was so close he could taste it. When her nails scratched at his scalp and her back arched and her toes curled, he spread her thighs even wider latched his mouth onto her. It was like drinking nectar straight from the source. She writhed against his tongue as he lapped at every drop, John’s own hips seeking friction by rutting against the matress.
He looked absolutely sinful. Chin coated in her cum. A curl hanging down his forehead. Kissing at the inside of her thigh to make sure he didn’t miss a drop.
“John…” She was practically out of breath as he stroked her clit one more time just to watch the way her stimulated body reacted to his touch.
“You soaked the sheets baby. I’m so proud of you.”
“Need you inside me,” she whimpered as John stood, pulling her to the edge of the bed. “Need my husband to fuck me.”
“My wife needs my cock?” he asked rhetorically. She nodded, trying to move her hips forward to close the gap. He tapped her with the head of his length before teasing up and down her slit to gather her wetness. He saw stars as he pushed into her. She welcomed as much of him as physically possible, her brow furrowed and mouth agape as she watched him rock in and out of her gently. “Cass.” His hand reached to wrap around her throat as he picked up his pace. A moan escaping her lips in time with his thrusts.
“Cum inside me, John.” He almost lost his focus at her words. They had been so careful since getting back. Not wanting a child to complicate the things they had been working through. But maybe now that all of that was behind them…
“You mean that?” He needed to be sure, his hips quickening with a mind of their own.
“I’m cert- oh, right there.” She grabbed his wrist as he hit a particularly sweet spot deep inside of her, her eyes rolling to the back of her head. “Oh, Johnny, I’m so close.” Her own hand reached between them and began to work tight circles around her clit. John loved watching her touch herself. Had a habit of sitting behind her in a mirror and talking her through exactly how he wanted her to do it.
His hip snapped quicker, the sounds of skin on skin and her sweet moans echoing through the room. “Get there with me, Cass, come on baby.” She knew how many thrusts away he was based on the way his forehead creased and his moans sounded strangled and he would always seek out a kiss from her.
“Fuck, fuck, fuck,” she chanted as he stilled and she felt a warmth filling inside her that she hadn’t experienced before. He gripped her hips and pulled her forward, burying himself inside of her to the hilt. Her breath caught in her throat with a squeak as her whole body went stiff before it was shocked back to life by her orgasm. Her moan was the sweetest song as it caressed his ears, his chest heaving as he looked where their bodies were connected.
“Going to need to do that a couple more times before dinner,” he said, “Just to make sure I’ve gotten the hang of it.” A knock at the door broke their trance.
“We’re busy,” Cass called out lazily as John moved to drop his forearms on either side of her head. He kissed the side of her neck and she craned it to offer him more skin to love on.
“Mr. and Mrs. Egan, we’ve delayed your arrival as much as we can.” There was a very specific balance of timing for such an affair. The first dance and the dance with her father and his mother had to be cadenced perfectly with the toasts and the dinner. Not to mention the five tiered wedding cake and not to mention they had a ship that would be waiting in the morning to take them to their honeymoon. If they were any later, everything could be derailed. She knocked again.
“I am a little hungry,” Cass noted, her thumb smoothing over the crease in the middle of his forehead. “And you did promise you’d sing Blue Skies for me tonight.”
“I did, didn’t I?” She nodded. “Guess we better get you all cleaned up then.”
----
There was an empty chair at the head table the whole night because Cass refused to leave her husband’s lap. No one was surprised that they were late. That Cass’ hair was no longer in the elaborate style she had had previously. Both of their sisters certainly noticed the way her knees buckled and John tightened his arm around her waist. Gale and Marge recognizing the shade of lipstick peeking out from just underneath John’s collar.
“And now the best man, Gale Cleven, has a few words for the lovely couple.” John whistled as Buck made his way to the microphone, Cass kissing his cheek until he got the hint and turned to kiss her.
“If any of you are new to the John and Cass solar system, I can say with authority they are like this all the time.” The crowd laughed and John raised his glass before taking a sip, Cass burying her face in his neck. “I’ve spent a lot of time with John Egan. Known him from the moment he put on that uniform, making the choice to serve his country. He is a natural pilot. A natural leader. It’s natural for him to love others but hard for him to accept their love in return.”
“I think he’s trying to make you cry,” Cass whispered.
“He might.”
“When I was writing this speech, I was having trouble finding the words to describe the love these two have for each other. The love that never waivered, even on the darkest of nights. And that is because of two things. Firstly, Cass is his compass, his North Star. She guides him home. To safety, to her. To comfort and to love. In return, John chases away the shadows of the night and brings her a Blue Sky. His favorite song, that fact she stuck around after hearing his rendition should tell you all you need to know, and his favorite sentiment. That the presence of someone you love is enough to chase away all your blue days.” Buck turned and faced two of the most important people in his life. Those responsible for his survival in Germany. Who he would never be able to thank enough for getting him home to Marge. “You two gave me the strength to keep fighting. The strength to make it home to my wife. Because you two gave me the courage to believe in destiny and fate and the notion that our souls can find their other half.”
Cass used her napkin to dab gently at the corner of her eyes, John’s hand squeezing where it rested on her knee. His eyes were focused on his friend with a look of pure love. The look of a man who had survived unspeakable horrors but had his anchor keeping him sane. One on that stage and the other in his arms.
“I love you, John. I don’t say it nearly enough,” she said with her lips pressed to his cheek.
“Cass and John, I know you have the most incredible, love-filled days ahead of you and I cannot wait to watch the life you two build together because I know for a fact the world is a better place with your love in it. To my two favorite heathens.” Gale raised his glass, Cass blowing him a kiss and John tightly smiling and nodding in an effort to keep his emotions at bay. The flutes of champagne that were passed out went down in a single gulp, the band starting back up as Gale made his way back to the head table.
“Gale, that was so beautiful. Thank you.” Cass untwined herself from John’s grasp to wrap Buck in a hug. “Here I was thinking you were sick of us and our antics.”
“I am sick of catching you two working on my future niece or nephew but will never tire of watching you two love each other.” Buck went to shake John’s hand but John pulled him in for a hug instead.
“You got me through, Buck. Got me here with all these blessings,”John looked his friend in the eye, “I’ll never be able to repay that.”
“You repay me by loving your wife with all you got, every day.” Marge walked over to join them. “Hey, maybe you two even name your son after me!”
“Don’t count on it.”
----
The party showed no signs of dying down even a few hours later. Everyone was sufficiently drunk and full of cake. John had brought the house down when he sang just as Cass requested. She was giddy with her love for him.
“Get some fresh air with me?” she requested as he lifted her up and spun her around.
“Lead the way, my love.” Cass dragged him out the door and a few yards away, dramatically dropping into the grass with a giggle and John followed suit. “Haven’t gotten to just look at the stars with you in awhile.”
“We’ve been busy. I wouldn’t mind slowing down a little,” she murmured as her cheek rested over his heart.
“Me neither. A little time away is going to be nice.” A couple weeks on safari in Tanzania followed by a couple weeks on the beaches of Zanzibar. It sounded heavenly.
“It’s going to be perfect.”
One year ago, they had finally escaped hell. It had taken all 365 days since to learn the new intricacies of the person lying with them. To learn their new scars. To love them as equally as the old ones. To convince each other they were safe and could let their guards down again and love each other with the same reckless abandon they had back in England. They had found their way back to each other. Found their way back into the perfect synchronous dance they had mastered. Found their way permanently nestled in each other’s hearts. No longer two separate people but a union. Two halves of a whole locked into a willing embrace for the rest of time.
They had each other. And not a worry on the horizon.

He thinks you don’t notice him slink in, but you do. You heard his sighs from down the hall. You look up just as he reaches his office door.
“He all settled in then?”
Fowler stops and slaps his hand on the door frame. He drops his chin, agitation ticking in his jaw. “He’s... going for a run? I don’t know. He said his ass was cramped from driving all day then tried to grab me again.” He shakes his head and looks at you. “Can you look into hotels?”
“You’re sending him away already?”
“No, it’s for me,” he sneers.
You nearly laugh but you hold back.
“I mean, he coulda pulled a knife?” You suggest.
“I’d prefer that,” he drags his hand off the wall and crosses his arms. “Don’t grin at me like that.”
“I’m not grinning. This is just how my face is.”
“You’re fucking smirking,” he stomps closer.
You roll your eyes, “alright,” you wipe your expression and dawn the bitch face you’ve spent decades honing. He nearly recoils.
“Not better,” he chides.
You push your shoulders up and sit back, “so, hotel? Executive sweet, extra wine?”
“Forget it. I’ll deal with the idiot. I don’t trust him here alone.”
“Wise. I was going to say but he’s really not my problem. I just handle the noise.”
“You really have to gloat?” He huffs.
“Gloat? Come on, Fowler, you can handle just as well as I did--”
“No, I need him in line. I can’t go popping him in the face, as much as he might beg for it.”
“Wow, character growth. Never thought I’d see the day,” you mock.
“Hey,” he points at you, “don’t. You sound just like him.”
You squint and stand, “now that’s just insulting.” You step up to him. “I could grow a way better mustache.”
He snorts and turns away, “alright then. I need a drink.”
“Me too,” you check your watch. “I’m gonna clock out--”
“Clock out,” he pauses and looks over his shoulder.
“Believe it or not, I have a life,” you jeer. “So, since you have that cretin on a leash, I’ll just be off mine.”
You go to the rack and take your jacket and your bag. You sense him watching you. You face him.
“Unless I’ve forgotten something?”
“You’re abandoning me,” he accuses.
“Oh, I am,” you confirm and turn on your heel, “ta.”
You stride out and exhale as you head down the hall. You really just want to go home and soak in your tub with a glass of rose. For all the work you put in, you don’t get to enjoy the fruits of your labour as much as you’d like.
As you get to the door, another approaches. You meet Hansen with a derisive look as his lips curl.
“Ah there she is. Where’re you off too? Nicky Blue Eyes have you running out for lube--”
He’s wearing a loose shirt with no sides, his ribs and stomach peeking out, his arms exposed. His running shorts stop high on his thigh and echo another era. You tilt your head at him wryly.
“Don’t twist your ankle.”
“Aw, you worried about me, baby cakes?”
“I’m worried about listening to you whine,” you scoff.
You reach for the door and he gets there first, blocking your path.
“Where’re you off to in such a hurry? Got a date? Don’t tell me there’s a Mister at home.”
“Hansen, kindly, get out of my way.”
“Oooh, spicy. Mama, I love that. Talk dirty to me.”
You cross your arms and stare him down. You keep your expression placid as you watch him. Patient. The stone sets in your eyes.
He flinches and gives an emphatic shudder, “oof, you can do that on demand, eh? That’s cold.” He wiggles his shoulders and winks, “the ice queen must be upon her mission.” He opens the door and holds it as he waves through, “As long I get to watch you walk away, you’re free to go.”
You don’t give him even the twitch of your eye. You step through march down the walk to the gate. He whistles behind you but you don’t catch his last comment. Whatever it is, isn’t worth hearing.
As you come out the other side of the fence, you let your posture ease. You take out your personal phone and swipe through your notifications. There isn’t very much. Some promotions from the wine show you went to a few months back and some messages you’d rather not deal with. Yet, he is persistent.
You get in your car and throw your purse in the other seat. You linger as you mull the texts. It would save you a trip to the grocery store. As long as the offer is still on the table.
You key in your message; ‘home in thirty. If you’re still in the area, you may leave it at my door.’
You drop the phone on top of your bag and start the engine. You turn up the music, Ronstadt mostly, and start your drive home. You drift into the blur of traffic, following the usual twists and turns of your route.
As you pull up to your walk-up, you slow. You could tear his hair out. Yes, you are aware, you take and don’t give, but that’s how it needs to be with his sort. Next to a crate of fresh produce, Cole sits, perking up as you approach the steps.
“It’s late. Sorry, but I had a long day--”
“I know,” he stands and lifts the box, “but I just wanted to say hi, you know? We never see each other. You’re so busy.”
“As are you. I hear farm work is a lot,” you climb the stairs and face him. “Thank you for this.”
“Anytime,” he keeps the box away from your reach. “Let me. It’s heavy.”
“Really, there’s no need--”
“I’ll just bring it in and go. Promise. Not like last time.”
You sigh. You’re too tired. Tired of dealing with needy men.
“In and out,” you demand.
He grins bigger. You step past him and unlock the door. You enter and he follows, his elbow hitting the door. You point to the side table and he sets down the crate.
“Good, now, goodbye.” You say.
“Wait, please, what did I do--”
“Cole, nothing. You did nothing. It was one night.”
He pouts and slumps, “it could be more.”
“I’m too busy. Go find a girl with time.” And interest...
He nods mopily and turns reluctantly. You follow him to the door and close it behind him, almost pushing him out with it. The free delivery and fresh tomatoes are worth the excruciating encounter. You deal with worse than him.

It'll Make Sense Some Day
Part Three
april twenty-second
"Wait. Back the fuck up. You're going out with Mason tomorrow, and you're just now telling me?" Millie asks the day before you and Mason are going to meet for a coffee.
"We're not going out, Mills, we're just getting a coffee, there's a difference!"
"That's what they all say," your sister mumbles, but you ignore her.
"It's really not a big deal-"
"They all say that, too."
"Because we were friends for a long time, and well... We're both older now. We can handle this like adults, believe it or not."
"I never said you can't handle this like an adult, Y/N," Millie explains, "I just can't believe you just decided to meet up with him without consulting Mum or I, like you usually do."
"I don't always do that!" You protest, crossing your legs underneath you as you sit on the couch, some random show on the TV playing in front of you.
"Okay, maybe not. But the point is, you've not been talking about Mason for 9 and bit years, it isn't likely for you that this just changes overnight. What happened?"
"I need a date to Rachel's wedding, so i decided to make a Tinder for that, and the next thing i know, I matched with Mase."
Millie laughs. "Oh, my god. You know there are plenty of guys at my work that i could set you up with? This one guy, Eric, comes into work everyday and just rants about how he doesn't have a girlfriend. I don't think you'd like him, though. He's a bit self cantered."
"Then why bring him up?" you mumble, as Millie keeps talking.
"Anyway, how did you match with Mason and not even know? Were you swiping through so fast that you didn't know?"
"I honestly don't even know how it happened. I guess i just wasn't paying attention, and the next thing i knew, i was matched with him."
"That's hilarious. No offence, sis."
"None taken, except it wasn't particularly funny in the moment. Actually, it was terrifying. I called him after, though, and we cleared everything up."
"Good. Just remember, i'm going to tell this story at yours and Mason's wedding."
"Millie! I'm not even in love with him anymore, and he sure as hell probably isn't with me. We're just going to be friends and see where it goes."
"Come on, you can't be immune to the fact that your life is like something out of a rom-com. Which isn't a bad thing, in fact, can you send some of that my way?"
"Why? Aren't you still with Leo? Millie, you guys have been together forever."
"Your sister sighs. "i am, yes, but i just feel like our relationship has lost some of the spark it had when we first met, Do you know what i mean?"
"Not personally, no but for the sake of this conversation, yes. What exactly do you mean by 'spark?' Like, sex?"
"That's part of it, but Leo and I never do fun couples' things anymore. He doesn't buy me flowers spontaneously or take me on romantic trips."
"Do you want him to do things like that?" You ask.
Millie has never been a spontaneous person, when she was ten, she showed our parents her entire life plan, and has stuck to it so far to a T.
"I think, I don't know."
"Have you talked to him about it?"
It takes your sister a second for her to answer. "No."
"Well, there you go. Just talk to him, ask if you guys can have a night where you go out for dinner one night, instead of staying at home. Make small changes to your relationship that make you happy, before you expect giant romantic gestures."
"Wow, I should ask you for advice more often," Millie laughs.
"I give good advice sometimes, you know."
"Yeah. Well I should get going, but tell me how your date goes tomorrow!"
"It's not a date!" You yell, but Millie hangs up the phone, cutting you off.

Thank you so much for reading! Sorry it’s a really short one 💓

Jemma
I’m not super happy with the ending but I would die for Jemma.
When the bell rings, Robin wearily sighs, stands, and affixes her hat on her head. “I hate you,” she mutters to Steve on her way out the door. “You and your stupid fair plan.”
Steve chuckles, knowing she doesn’t actually hate him or his plan; she just hates when it’s her turn to serve someone.
It’s a fairly straightforward procedure, which means Steve is surprised—and a little concerned—when through the door, he can hear Robin floundering her words. “Oh, no- don’t cry, please, it’s- it’s okay, it’ll be okay, um- Steve? A little help here?”
He forgets the hat, walks out of the break room in three long strides. “What’s wrong?”
He blinks when he sees a little girl standing in front of them, big blue eyes watering. “Oh,” he murmurs. “Hi, there. Where’s your mommy?”
Her lip quivers even more. “Calaf’wnya.”
Steve’s brows hit his hairline. “Okay, uh, where’s your daddy?”
That, apparently, was the wrong question to ask. She bursts into tears. “I dunno!” She sobs and hiccups, and Steve and Robin turn wide eyes onto each other.
“I do not know how to handle kids, Steven,” Robin hisses at him, looking about four seconds from her own breakdown.
Steve doesn’t think he’s fantastic with kids, but he’s at least better than Robin, so he nods. “Can you handle the store while I help her find her dad?”
Robin nods. “Please.”
He nods to her, then moves to crouch in front of the little girl. “Oh, hey, it’ll be okay. I’ll help you find your daddy, okay?”
Her eyes seem even bigger and bluer with the tears. “Pwomise?”
“I promise,” he nods. “Can you tell me your name?”
“Jemma.” She crosses a black curl in front of her face, like she’s embarrassed.
“That’s a beautiful name, Jemma. I’m Steve. Can I guess how old you are?” He grins at her excited nod. “Okay. Hmm… are you… three?” She shakes her head and holds four fingers up. “You’re four? Oh, wow. You’re so big! Can you guess how old I am?”
She looks at him with big eyes and asks wonderingly, “Two hundwed?”
He ignores Robin’s snort as he picks Jemma up. “Not quite,” he answers. “I’m twenty-six.”
Her eyes get even bigger. “That’s so many,” she says wonderingly. “Do you know evewything?”
Steve stifles a laugh. “Not quite everything, but I do know a lot. But I bet you know a lot, too. D’you know your daddy’s name?” She shakes her head. “That’s okay. Do you know what your mommy calls your daddy?”
Her face brightens. “Asshole!”
Robin collapses in giggles onto the countertop. Steve fights not to follow her example. “Okay,” he says. It only comes out a little shaky. “Does she call him anything else?”
“Eddie,” she nods. “Sometimes baby, but that’s when she has hew juice and is happy.”
Steve’s heart clenches. “Okay,” he answers. “How about if I put you up on my shoulders, so you can be way up high and see everything, and we go yell for your daddy?”
“M’kay’!” She agrees, so Steve situates her on his shoulders before turning back to Robin.
“You gonna be okay for a few minutes?”
“I’ll be fine,” Robin nods, grinning at Jemma. “You’d better help her. She needs it more than me.”
Steve chuckles. “You’re the best.”
“And don’t you forget it!” She calls on his way out of the store.
In the main hall of the mall now, Steve’s breath tries to catch in his throat. There’s a lot of people, and he’s not exactly sure how to do this. Finally, he decides to just go for it, parading up and down as he yells. “Eddie! Jemma is looking for you!”
“Daddy!” Jemma tries to help, even if her voice is too small. Steve gives her a high-five anyways.
On his way down a side hall, he hears someone behind him. “Jemma!”
“Daddy?” Jemma squirms on Steve’s shoulders, and he turns around to see a man running their direction. “Daddy!” She squeals, kicking in earnest, trying her best to swan dive off Steve’s shoulders.
He quickly lifts her off and holds her securely enough she won’t fall as he and Jemma’s father move towards each other.
“Oh, Jem, I was so worried about you,” he says quietly, taking her from Steve. “You can’t do that, okay? You can’t run off, remember?”
Jemma’s lip wobbles. “‘M sowwy, Daddy,” she says. “I wanted ice cweam.”
He kisses her forehead and hugs her close. “I’m so glad you’re okay,” he whispers, then looks at Steve. “Thank you so much for helping her.”
Jemma wiggles in his grasp. “Daddy! Daddy he wowks in the ice cweam stowe! An’ he helped me! An’ his name is-” she frowns, turns to look at Steve. “I fowgot.”
Steve chuckles. “My name is Steve,” he tells both her and her father. “Eddie, right?”
“That’s me,” he confirms with a nod. “Please tell me she wasn’t too much trouble.”
“None at all,” Steve promises, then grins. “She’s an absolute riot, actually.”
Eddie winces. “What did she say this time?”
“I think this might be my fault,” Steve admits. “I was trying to find out your name, so I asked what her mom calls you.”
“Oh no,” Eddie whispers.
Steve nods. “She was very confident. And, uh, very willing to share.”
Eddie winces again. “Baby? Or-”
“Both,” Steve nods, then smiles. “But it worked out in the end, we found you. And maybe you two could get a couple of cones? On me?” He grins. “I’ve found there’s not much that a good ice cream cone can’t fix.”
Eddie smiles apologetically. “We’ve actually got to go,” he says, then shifts. “But maybe I could give you my number? Buy you dinner to thank you?”
Steve grins as he looks Eddie up and down. “Just dinner?”
Eddie stares at him. “I’ll try to get a sitter.”
“Deal,” Steve grins, offering his hand to shake.
When he makes it back to the store, he grins at Robin. “Put a tally on the scoreboard, Robin, I’ve got a number. And, if I play it right, a date.”
Robin judges him with her eyebrows. “Did you really hit on a girl out there?”
Steve snorts. “No. But Jemma’s dad is very appreciative. He wants to thank me over dinner.” He smirks and leans over the counter to get into her space in a way he knows annoys her. “And he’s gonna get a sitter.”
Robin narrows her eyes at him. “I don’t know what you are, Steve Harrington, but one day I’ll figure you out.”
Steve snorts. “I don’t doubt it.”

Something Else- pt. 2
Tumblr media
pairing: Frankie Morales x fem!reader
chapter summary: Waking up hungover is one thing, but trying to explain what didn’t happen to your friend is another. You handle it about as well as you can, shutting down and running away. Frankie is sweet about the whole thing, and you don't know how to handle that either.
rating: 18+ (no minors please)
word count: 5.7k
warnings etc: Frankie w/o a daughter, triple frontier movie plot has happened but is not mentioned as of yet, eventual explicit smut (not this chapter but it will build), fluff, pet names, friendships, jealousy, competition, drinking, some heavy petting....dry humping, makeout session, praise... 2nd person pov, no use of y/n
A/N: Happy Frankie Friday! I hope you're ready for part 2 of Something Else...some things heat up and there's a bit of a cliffhang at the end, so don't hate me. Let me know what you think!

It is unbearably bright past your eyelids, making you see fireworks of different colors once you are conscious enough to be aware of it. You’re surrounded by the smell of fresh sheets, some detergent you aren’t familiar with. A deodorant that smells of sandalwood and citrus, and the faint smell of…sausage?
You blink your eyes open, looking at the unfamiliar ceiling for a moment before looking down at the comforter you are clutching. Dark green, with small cream-colored leaves scattered in no particular pattern. You turn your head towards the window where the blinds are open and notice a bookshelf in the corner, a chair with a pile of clothes on it unfolded, and not much else in the room.
Turning your head in any direction is painful-it hurts behind your eyes with this hollow feeling, making you blink a few times to try and get rid of the dryness. There's some shuffling beyond the closed door, pots, and pans of some kind, mumbling that is indiscernible. You briefly remember last night, realizing that it must be Frankie behind the door and that this is his bedroom.
He tucked you in.
You take a deep breath before braving the floor, cold under your bare feet, and turn the knob as quietly as possible. It feels silly to stick your head out into the hallway to look and see where Frankie might be, but you do it anyway with the intention of beelining it for the bathroom. You have no idea what you look like, and the idea of saying “good morning” with makeup smeared all over your face, makes you want to crawl in a hole and die.
You step into the hallway on the balls of your feet and into the bathroom, shutting that door behind you quickly and turning on the light. “Oh…wow.” You can’t help but say out loud, seeing the eye makeup you had put on is completely smoked out under your eyes, resembling that of a raccoon.
Scanning Frankie’s sink top for something to wash your face with, you settle on the Dove foaming soap. You think back to the last guy’s house you stayed at that didn’t have any soap, and shiver slightly before running the water to get it warm.

Frankie tilted his head at the sound of water running, looking towards the hallway briefly and noticing that the bedroom door was open. He smiled to himself, turning the sausage patty over in the pan before finishing scrambling the eggs. Based on how many drinks you had the night before, he hoped that you wouldn’t mind him cooking breakfast for the both of you.
When you finally appeared, sheepishly standing on the tiled floor, he had to hold back the full smile that wanted to appear. Your face was flushed, pieces of hair around your face damp with water, and his shirt hanging loosely around your collarbone. “Mornin’. I made enough to share.” He said quietly, watching you scan the room and brighten at the Advil bottle with a glass of water that he had set out for you.
“I’m not ruining your morning, am I?” You asked, helping yourself to a couple pills and tossing them back quickly.
He shook his head. “Not at all. Figured some grease might help that headache you have.” He smiles at you, he can’t help it, and serves you a plate of scrambled eggs and sausage. “There’s orange juice in the fridge, if you want some of that.”
You nod, draining the rest of your water cup and sliding over to the fridge quickly. Frankie grabs two forks, handing you one once you’ve poured yourself a glass of orange juice and he waits for you to take the first bite. He’s nervous again, tapping his fingers against the counter and taking a sip of some juice. “Pope texted me this morning; said that Anna is with him so your key is across town still.”
You nod once, taking a bite of the eggs and contemplating. “Where does he live?” You ask, looking up at Frankie. “I’ll grab a taxi to his place and be out of your hair.”
Frankie furrows his brow at you, shaking his head. “There’s no need for that, I’ll drive you over.”
Your face starts to flush red, taking another quick bite. “I don’t want to impose–”
“You’re not.” Frankie corrects quickly, laughing quietly under his breath. “I can’t let you handle the wrath of Pope and Anna on your own.” You go to say more before he stops you again. “I’m supposed to pick up Pope anyways, so it's not an inconvenience, cariño.”
Frankie watches you nod again, smiling down at your plate before finishing off the sausage. His eyes flick down to your hand that rests easily on the counter, and he wants to grab it-to hold it in his to give you a reassuring squeeze. “You’re…” You trail off, looking back up at him. You bite your lip and Frankie is just about to lose his patience, wanting to reach up and pull your lip from your teeth and bite on it himself. “You’re one of the nicest people I’ve come across in a while, Frankie.”
Frankie can feel his heart deflate a little at that. Sure, he wanted to be nice and polite, but he wanted to kiss you. He covers it with a small smile. “I don’t know if that’s sad or depressing.” He laughs, watching you flutter your lashes down to your cheek before pushing away the plate. He can’t stop himself when he reaches forward and wraps his fingers around yours. He hears your gasp and doesn’t know if he should backtrack or not. “Has everyone else…not been nice?”
You’re frozen under his gaze, the only indication that you heard him is your eyes on his and that your fingers are squeezing his right back. You blink quickly, scrunching your forehead and releasing a quick breath. “No, I guess not.”
Frankie steps closer to you and pulls your hand up to his lips, planting a gentle kiss on your knuckles. He swears you shiver at the contact. “You deserve that. People being…nice to you.” He says quietly, squeezing your hand once more before dropping it and grabbing your plate to put in the sink as a distraction from the way you’re looking at him.
Tumblr media
The short version is that you want to jump Frankie’s bones, but don’t think you can.
The long version is that once Frankie grabbed your plate after planting his lips to your hand and looking at you like you hung the moon, you stood there and stared at his back for a few seconds before turning around to find where you had folded your clothes.
As nonchalantly as possible you had mumbled that you were going to change and beelined it for the bathroom another time, phone in hand as you started to take off the sweatpants he had let you borrow. You look at your string of texts from Anna while running the sink again, groaning internally.
11:43 pm: I can’t believe you went home with Frankie!
1:24 am: Santi says that Frankie will treat you real nice, I have to know all the details later!
2:11 am: Oh god I have your key-in case you’re freaking out just let me know I’ll come get you
10:37am: Babe for real, how big is he? Did I pick the wrong friend?
You cringed at the last message, suddenly not wanting to share a single detail of just how polite and helpful and nice Frankie had been. You hadn’t even slept with him, had no claim over him, but didn’t want to let Anna have a single instance of thinking otherwise. You didn’t want to talk to her about Frankie even if you guys had done something. Not that you were opposed at all–
“Hey, uh. Pope just called.” Frankie said just outside the door. You turn off the sink, eyes wide as you button your jeans and debate if you should keep his shirt on or change back into the one that you wore the night before. You wonder which would look worse for a walk of shame… “Said that he’s getting ready for our plans. Are you…I’m not trying to rush you–”
“No, that's fine!” You say quickly, swinging open the door and trying to smooth out your hair. “Is it um…is it okay if I? If I wear this?” You ask, pulling on his shirt still covering you. “The top I wore last night is really uncomfortable–”
“Of course, sweetheart.” Frankie sighs, a happy smile gracing his face.
You shift between your feet, pushing your hair behind your ear. “I just need my shoes and we can leave.”
Frankie nods, motioning towards the door where you must have left them. “Let’s go deal with them making fun of us then.”
Tumblr media
Frankie can see that you’re nervous. Your ability to shake your leg up and down in quick succession while in his truck while also having a totally normal conversation with him about your friend Anna makes him wonder how you’re able to think about multiple things at the same time. There’s no way that you’re not able to think about two things at once unless you’re nervous about talking to him in general.
You’re only about halfway to Santiago’s place when Frankie’s hand comes down gently on your knee to stop you. “What are you thinking?” He questions, glancing at you before back at the road.
You sigh heavily before bringing your hands together. “Nothing just–Anna is going to be…Well, she–” You cut yourself off and lean your forehead into the window. “Anna tried setting us up and it’s going to be difficult to get her off my back about whether or not we…you know.”
Frankie nods, furrowing his brow before coming to a stop at the red light. He turns his attention to you, seeing that you haven’t removed his hand. “Will she not accept no as the answer?” He digs, watching you turn to him with your own furrowed brow. He wants to reach forward and smooth the worry away, not understanding what you’re concerned about.
“She will, she just…” You trail off, your leg beginning to shake again under his hand. He holds it tighter, trying to reassure you. “It doesn’t matter.” You concede, looking back forward when the light changes to green.
Frankie doesn’t push, keeping his hand on your knee as he continues forward to Pope’s apartment. He’s acutely aware of your wringing hands and how you try to stop yourself multiple times, moving on to picking at the skin on your thumb.
He sighs heavily as he pulls up to Pope’s building, cutting the engine and giving you a final squeeze. “We don’t have to say anything if you don’t want to,” Frankie suggests, watching your eyes flick between his. “I don’t know what Anna’s deal is but if you don’t want to tell her then you shouldn’t have to.”
You nod slowly, sighing out of your nose and laying your hand on top of his. His heart rate picks up at the feeling of your skin. “You’re right.”
He can see you relax, and he immediately vows to not tell Pope a single thing.
Tumblr media
Frankie trails behind you closely, guiding you to Santiago’s door with a light hand on the small of your back. You feel jittery, hoping that Anna won’t say anything too obnoxious in front of Frankie, asking if you guys “fucked until the sun came up” or some other line you’ve heard from her before.
You hope she doesn’t ask if he’s single.
Santi meets you at the door, swinging it wide and scanning his eyes over the shirt you’re wearing and then behind you to Frankie with a smirk of knowing. “Morning, love birds.” He mumbles, moving out of the way to let you in before smacking Frankie on the back.
Anna is sitting on the couch, her eyes wide as she spots you, squealing out in delight before running for you. “Did you get laid?” You cringe as she wraps her arms around you, jumping up and down like you both were equally excited.
When you don’t answer, hearing Santiago and Frankie talk quietly behind you, Anna pulls away and examines your face. She breaks out into another smile before giving you a shake. “Oh yeah, you did! We are so going to talk about this later.”
You turn back around, watching Santi bump Frankie again with a quiet “Nothing? You’re going to say nothing?” before meeting eyes with Frankie. He’s stoic, calm, and observing Anna with you and it makes you blush. “You guys really aren’t going to divulge anything?” Santi says louder, looking up to you and back to Frankie.
“We gotta get going, man,” Frankie says, motioning to the door. “Engine is still running.”
You know it's a lie, but you’re relieved that Frankie is cutting it short. You can avoid Anna on your own, complain that you have a headache, and go back to your apartment, wallowing in your inability to keep a guy interested in you as Anna takes them all away. “I’ll wash your shirt and give it back to you.” You say quietly, pulling out your phone and barely holding it out in his direction.
Frankie is quick to step forward, close to you as he types in his number and calls himself, hanging up after the first ring. “Call me whenever cariño.” He says quietly, placing the phone back in your hand and wrapping his fingers around your wrist. He pulls you forward subtly, leaning down to brush his lips against your cheek. When he pulls away and locks eyes with you, you are almost able to drown out the sound of Anna’s squeal, wincing when it comes to your ears.
When Frankie and Santi leave, you are then bombarded with the questions you knew were coming.
“How was it? Was he nice to you? He better have been.”
“How big is he? He looks like he is hiding more down there than most!”
“He seems so sweet, you want to trade him with Santi for a couple spins?”
“Anna, I don’t want to talk about this.” You finally say, breathing out heavily and shaking your head at her. She looks confused, pouring a glass of lemonade at the fridge when you have finally cut her off. “It shouldn’t matter what Frankie and I did, and I don’t want to talk about it with you.”
Anna pauses for a moment, setting the glass down. “Babe, what’s going on?” She questions. “Was he horrible?”
“No!” You exclaim, frustrated with yourself. You can’t tell her that she’s the issue. “I just…I want to keep it private. For now. Okay?” You gasp out, running your hands through your hair for a moment. “I got to go, alright? Thank you for holding my key. I’ll text you.”
“Babe, you would tell me if something was wrong, right? Has he done something? Or me?” Anna questions, crossing her arms defensively.
You nod, sliding your shoes on and rushing for the door. “It’s not you, Ann, it’s me. I’m, I’m all flustered and I need to just…I need to take a second. Everything is fine.” You say quietly, opening the front door and not waiting for a response before heading down the sidewalk in your apartment's direction. You pull out your phone and go to the phone number that was added moments ago to your recent calls, texting Frankie.
Thank you.
Tumblr media
Frankie looks at your text once he’s arrived at the hangar, smiling to himself before putting his phone back in his pocket. When he looks up to Santi, his eyes are on him already. “You’re really not going to tell me how she is?” He groans, bumping Frankie’s shoulder as he passes him.
“Not your concern, Pope,” Frankie mumbles, strapping his harness on a bit tighter around his flight suit.
“Leave Frankie alone, man.” Benny chips in, turning to Frankie with a kind smile. “She’s pretty cool, isn’t she?”
Frankie slides his aviators onto his nose and up his face, giving a quick nod. “She’s…different.” He says quietly while Benny pats his back.
Frankie is able to ignore the rest of the group quickly as he gets into the helicopter, sitting in the pilot seat, and getting to work on the practice run. He’s able to completely clear his mind, not worry about how Pope was grilling him in the ride over here, or how Pope couldn’t stop talking about how amazing Anna was…
No, Frankie was able to clear his mind and reexamine your reaction when Anna came up to you. How you stood still, stiff as a board, and ignored her questions. How you winced when she said you would be talking about it later with her. How Anna’s eyes seemed to lock on Frankie’s chest and trail down…
Frankie wasn’t sure if he really saw that or if he imagined it. But, it was enough to make him crowd you when you said you would wash his shirt, that you would return it. How you relaxed against him when he brushed his lips against your cheek–how that soothed you instead of winding you up more.
And for you to text him after you clearly had escaped Anna’s questions, had gone home even. How you thought about him enough to thank him, for just not saying anything. Up in the air, moving the helicopter around the course with his team, his friends behind him along for the ride, he could swear that he would be in love with you by the end of the day if he thought too much about you.
Tumblr media
After a couple days, you find yourself still in a slump of avoiding Anna. It wasn’t the first time that you had gone days without texting her-she was typically in her own world and wouldn’t bother you. But this time around, she was a bit more persistent, leaving voicemails.
“Hey babe! Let me know when you get a chance and maybe we can have movie night? Santi said that Frankie wouldn’t tell him anything either-you guys have a pact or something? Kinda hot. Anyways, let me know if you want to go out again!”
“You doing okay? What happened the other day when I asked about Frankie? He wasn’t mean to you was he? I’ll go over there right now if that’s the case. Anyways…text me.”
“Hey, call me back when you get a second, honey. I want to make sure you’re good, and Santi has seen Frankie and he hasn’t mentioned you. Let me know.”
I’m working all this weekend-sorry. We can chat when I have a few days off.
It wasn’t a total lie. You had worked the next day, an evening shift at the cafe, going through the motions of the closing shift and bringing home a large iced coffee for you to drink the next day while you created a cocoon on your couch. The living room blinds were pulled, the room dark with the flashing on the TV the only thing lighting up the room.
Frankie’s shirt was folded on the chair by the door, waiting for you to get the courage to message him. You looked down at your phone, pulling up his contact and pressing “call” before thinking much more about it.
It rang twice before he picked up. “Why, hello hermosa.” He said quietly, a small smile appearing on your lips at the sound of his voice.
“H-hey. Hi.” You squeak out, clearing your throat for a moment before letting it be quiet. “I uh, I have your shirt washed.”
It was silent on the other end and you could feel the panic coursing through your veins for a moment before he spoke. “Can I come pick it up?” He questioned, sounds in the background of other people, men, making noises of encouragement before Frankie stepped far enough away to not hear them anymore.
“Yeah, you can. I work tomorrow if you wanted to stop by–”
“Can I now?” Frankie asks quickly, cutting you off before saying. “I was hoping to see you, actually.”
You look down at what you’re wearing, cringing at the thought of any man, nice or not, seeing you with your hair barely brushed, pajamas from the day before still on… ”I’m not really presentable.” You say quietly, standing to go to the bathroom and find a hairbrush, maybe to brush your teeth.
“I don’t want to push you.” Frankie states, and you swear you can hear him pacing. “I just wanted to talk about…well, Anna has asked me if you’re okay.” He sighs, and you can imagine he is rubbing his forehead. “I don’t know what to tell her, but she’s convinced I should know and–”
“You know where I live, Frankie.” You sigh, rolling your eyes at the thought of Anna asking him if you were okay. You had texted her. “Stop by when you’re done entertaining your friends?” You ask, stepping into your bedroom to find a clean pair of pants.
“I’ll be there in ten, hermosa.” He says, ending the call and leaving you panicked, forcing your jeans on and a new shirt, rushing around and cleaning up the trash of candy and popcorn that you had been eating all weekend.
The ten minutes Frankie said ended up being six, and when the knock came to your door you felt panicked and rushed and swung the door open so quickly that Frankie jumped backwards. “Sorry!” You said breathlessly, grabbing the arm of his jacket and pulling him towards you and into your apartment. “I thought I had ten minutes.”
“Were you running?” He asks, smiling down at you as you shut the door and lean against it. His hands are on his hips, sticking the knee of his tan cargo pants out while the burnt orange windbreaker he’s wearing flares out where the zipper is undone.
You sigh at him, rolling your eyes and standing straight. You reach down to the chair by the door and pick up his shirt. “Thank you for letting me borrow it.” You say quietly, holding it out to him.
He gently takes it from your hands, rolling it up into a neat bundle that fits under his arm while he leans against your counter. “Are you…are you doing okay?” He asks, tilting his head and then looking up at your ceiling briefly before trying again. “I mean, are you and Anna not talking?”
You give him a brief shrug, stepping towards your living room where you still have a bunch of blankets covering the couch. You start collecting them, folding them one by one. “I just need space from her. She shouldn’t be trying to put you in the middle.” You state, throwing him a look of apology.
“Pope grilled me about you spending the night at my house, so I assume it was just as bad for you?” He asks, looking around your living room and then at the TV. “Did I ruin movie night?”
“No you’re not disturbing movie night, I’ve been watching them all weekend.” You choose to ignore the first question, even though it isn’t really fair to Frankie.
Frankie pauses for a moment before saying “Do you…want to watch another one?” He’s quiet as he asks, scratching the back of his neck. “Unless you’re all movie’d out.”
You pause your folding to look at him and smile. “Don’t want to be grilled again, huh?” You tease, throwing the blanket down and sitting on your couch.
He shrugs, sitting down a little ways from you, spreading an arm over the back of the couch in your direction. He places his shirt on the coffee table, locking eyes with you again. “It can even be something cheesy if I don’t have to go back to babysitting those guys.”
You laugh, reaching for the remote and turning the TV back on. “Do you like Heath Ledger?”
He nods, sliding his shoes off and setting them to the side of the coffee table. “He’s awesome in The Dark Knight.”
You hum, opening up your purchased movie list on Prime, and click on something you had planned on watching later. “He’s a very versatile actor.”
Frankie looks up at the TV and sees 10 Things I Hate About You queued up and starts chuckling. “He is.” He settles back, arm still reaching towards you as he gives you a last look. “You sure you don’t want me to go? So you can have your space?”
You look over at him, smiling once again before leaning towards him carefully. You don’t want to lean on his whole body, but closer to show you’re not being a total hermit. “I want you to stay if you want to.”
He smirks at you, eyes flicking down to your mouth briefly before his hand comes around the back of your neck gently and pulls you towards him. It's a surprise, at first, how warm his hand is and how nice it feels to have him pull you into a one-sided hug to practically lay on him as the movie begins in the background. Your face is smooshed into his upper chest, the crown of your head brushing his scruffy beard and your heart begins to race when your hand rests on his stomach. “Let’s relax, sweetheart.”
Tumblr media
Frankie wants to kiss you.
He had been thinking about you all weekend, throwing off his friends with their questions about you and what happened after you both escaped the bar. Pope gave his best rendition to the rest of the guys of you and Frankie entering his apartment, and how you exchanged numbers, and how you were wearing his shirt.
And he had wanted to call you or text you again to make sure you were, in fact, okay. But he didn’t know what to do when Anna started asking him where you were when they all hung out again. How Will’s eyes peered at him in curiosity, raising his brows in a silent question.
Tonight was different-only Will and Benny were in front of him, asking him again how you were. “Why won’t you talk about her?” Will questioned.
“It’s not your business.” Frankie groaned out again, crossing his arms when he felt his phone vibrate, picking it up as soon as he saw your name across his screen.
He had teased you about running around your apartment, but Frankie literally had run to his car and up to your door. Will and Benny had laughed at him when he said he was ditching; It only took him four minutes to get to your door, but he took two to catch his breath.
Now he had the courage to pull you closer to him after seeing you debate whether or not you wanted him to stay, looking so comfy and ready to take a nap, but in the back of his mind wondered what was going on with you and Anna. He had tried questioning you once, and you brushed it off, pretending he didn’t ask.
Frankie hadn’t seen this movie but knew based on your comments it was not something he would pick out on his own. He liked the feel of you against him, the small laughs you would make, and the sighs at some of the dialogue. He kept quiet unless you asked him a question, only moving to take off his hat when he realized he still had it on. Your hand on his stomach made him hyper-aware of your movements, warm through his shirt.
He was so hyper-aware of it that he felt it when you started to sniffle quietly before actually hearing it. There was a speech happening in the movie, and when he looked down at your eyes, they were glassy and wet with tears. “Are you alright?” He asked, startling you.
“Oh, god yes. I can’t help it.” You laugh, pulling away from him. “It’s just so…she’s so angry at him and she is saying she can’t even help but still like him.” She sighs, looking over at him and shaking her head. “Sorry.”
“Don’t be sorry.” He says roughly, reaching forward and wiping under your eyes with his thumbs. He’s pulled your face so close to his that he can’t help himself when he looks at your lips again, flushing red when you look at his own.
You lean forward and connect your lips with his, closing your eyes and pressing yourself closer to him. Frankie groans when your hand slides up to the back of his neck, fingers curling in the hair long enough to play with. He pulls away quickly, suddenly out of breath. You start to pull away, but he holds you firm, resting his forehead against yours.
When he does pull away, you’re still flushed, eyes wide with unsureness. The movie continues to play in the background, but Frankie can’t think beyond you in front of him, can’t hear beyond your breaths.
Your phone vibrates on the coffee table, pulling you out of your stare down with him, snapping your eyes over. Frankie peeks at the same time and sees Anna has texted you again. You groan, pulling fully away to grab the phone. “She doesn’t really understand boundaries.”
Frankie clears his throat, doing his best to not read along the text that has been sent to you. Another inquiry of whether or not you’re okay. “Is everything okay?”
You sigh quietly, biting at your cheek before flicking your eyes over to him. “Yeah just…she’s always really nosey.” You mumble, setting your phone back down on the coffee table. “She always gets what she wants.”
Frankie doesn’t know how to interpret that and doesn’t want to pry more than you’re willing to share. “What do you want?” He asks, watching you slowly turn your head to him in confusion. “Is it easier to let it be, or is it easier to have a conversation?”
You did not react how he thought you would when you lean into him and cuddle up to his shoulder. His heart jumps when you rest your hand on his upper leg. “Sometimes I think I should tell her, but it's an older issue…and I don’t really date anymore so it’s not like she can really interfere…”
Frankie absorbs the information, lifting his arm to pull you closer. “Do whatever you think is right.” He mumbles, bringing his lips down to the top of your head and kissing you gently.
He doesn’t expect you to lean your head up, eyes half-lidded as you look at his mouth again. “Will you kiss me again?” You say quietly, gasping as he launches his mouth towards yours, arranging you to turn into his lap.
He wants to make you feel good. There’s nothing else in his mind as he pulls you closer, your legs apart so he can slot his hips between your legs and press his chest to yours. He’s hungry for your attention, kissing into your mouth and then down your jaw to your ear, hands wrapped around your back. He can feel you heaving, shifting himself to look down at you again and giving you a smile. “You’re gorgeous, cariño.” He can feel you giggle as he attaches his lips to your neck, leaving a small trail until he is at your ear. “We can do whatever you want.”
He hears your breathy sigh and thinks it is out of relief. He doesn’t understand what it means but loves how it feels to make you feel relaxed with him. You pull him up to reattach your lips to his, biting at his lower lip and making him groan at the slight pain. He unintentionally thrusts his hips towards you but enjoys the reward of your moan.
He gently continues to do this, pushing his hips against yours, and feels the heat through your jeans and his cargo pants, and wonders if he should slow down. “Want to make you feel good.” He sighs out, realizing his eyes are closed, and pops them open to look down at you.
You buck your hips up to meet his, hands gripping his shoulders to where it may hurt another man, but Frankie is too focused on you and your hips and the way your shirt is riding up– “Touch me, please.”
He doesn’t have to be told twice, hands running down your sides to push your shirt up. His mouth is on you instantly, biting lightly at your belly button and up your sternum to where your bra gets in the way. He flicks his eyes up to yours to ask quick permission before moving your shirt above your chest, groaning at the sight. “Fuck hermosa, you’re going to kill me.” He says seriously, laughing when you let out a breathy one in return.
Frankie has decided at that moment to only touch you, to have you taken care of, and to leave it at that. To have you satisfied at the minimum; maybe you would come back for him or maybe not. He’s already concerned that you’ll ghost him and disappear if you do that to what he thought was your friend–
A loud knock makes you both jump, and a quick yelp comes from your mouth. You both pause, staring at each other. Frankie is hyper-aware of you bucking your hips again–
“Babe?” Anna says just beyond the door. “You in there?”
Your eyes go wide, pushing Frankie off of you. “Fuck.” You whisper, getting him to stand up and run towards the door to look through the peephole.
“Your shirt,” Frankie whispers back, watching you twist around and down at yourself to pull it down, red-faced and embarrassed. He’s trying to hold in his laughter as you try to flatten out your hair which was clearly spread across the couch moments ago.
“Go down the hall.” You whisper, pointing towards your bedroom, pushing him with the other hand. “Just, don’t come out.”
Frankie bites the inside of his cheek, holding back his remark about his shoes and his hat being on clear display, not wanting to argue with you about getting to snoop in your room while you deal with Anna.
