when jack said "can you tell them i'm sorry" about the angels being angry i fell in love with him as a character. he's just a little guy!!!

After hearing angelic voices, perhaps he's hearing their anger, their panic... and he's sorry for being born. Or perhaps he's just sorry for hurting the people who'd been kind to him, for the people caught up in his out-of-control power.

"your angel" with such little context is another way of saying "your sweetheart" romantically and well. they're not wrong

Forgive me if this doesn't make sense but

Dean understands himself. He is not drowning in internalized homophobia. He doesn't not know that he's into men. What Dean is, however, is a liar. He lies to everyone, all the time. I think this touches on the queer experience in a way we dont always see in media. We always talk about coming out and coming out scenes but what we never talk about why we come out. It's because of how difficult the lying is. But deans lied about everything, all his life. Not just about his sexuality, or things related to hunting. But he lies (directly or by ommission) about the music he likes, the clothes he likes, literally everything, just to fit into this box of what everyone expects him to be. He understands himself, you just don't have the critical thinking skills to see past his lies, you take his word at face value even though the show has told you repeatedly that dean is a liar

Benny spent a year just watching dean desperately look for Castiel all over purgatory, praying every night, refusing to leave without his angel

proceeded to be really mad at Cas for abandoning Dean only to be told Cas left to draw the monsters away from dean so he would be safe and realized the angel is even worse than dean

and promptly slipped out of the love triangle

Destiel raises Claire au except it's like those stories kids have of their adopted parents forgetting they're not biologically related and Claire will find out she has an allergy to cats and Dean will be like "got that from me, kiddo" and Claire will be like "that's why we can't have nice things" and Dean will be like "Hey blame your grandfather, John was allergic to all pets, we still have the dog!" and they'll carry on until a couple hours later when both of them separately come to a pause and go "wait wtf were we talking about?" and Cas (who witnessed the whole thing and chose not to say anything) will just be sitting there smiling

on a realer note i do think people forget that a huge part of the destiel equation is that cas won’t stay. like yeah we focus a lot on the fact that dean won’t ask him to, but cas never sticking around is a huge factor there

Think for a second about how Dean literally had to have STOPPED Cas to take a picture of him in a silly little cowboy hat (dean with a cannon cowboy fetish!)

THEN he went OUT OF HIS WAYY to have said picture printed out physically just so he could have a physical pic of Cas (that looks like it was in his WALLET?)

Now also think about the fact that sam had ZERO pictures where Cas was even present in his home with all of his family photos
