They’re both p good at expressing themselves through actions. Cal gives Edith room and trust to make her own choices & she pushes back on his own self depreciating ways and I think, pushes him to ask for what he wants when he isn’t really likely to do that on his own (he grows a lot when they’re actually together loll). As for how they clash (as tho I didn’t go dm u ab this one; its ok, the ppl should know💀) the way they deal w negative emotions aka. cal repressing them and just deciding to deal, vs edith who responds w anger/becomes explosive. I initially took this as things that would cause arguments but, cal is v chill and edith is too soft for him to be upset.

Hmmmm I’m not sure it’s an always when they leave, I think In some universes it’d be more consistently than others depending on the high stakes situations they’re in yk. The fact that some people choose to criticize the book because Yadriel forgives his family in the end completely flies over my head.

Like... What else were you expecting?

You know, I stan Julian's decision to stay mad at Yads family because they were shitty to him. They got away too easily. They hurt Yadriel too much and they were forgiven too easily.

But what Yadriel did was what he should have done, character wise. If he hadn't done that then it'd have been so weird because Yadriel, more than anything, craves for acceptance from his family. He wants them to understand and acknowledge his identity. You think he'll stay mad at his dad and grandmother for constantly misgendering him after they've accepted him? Nope. Not at all. It's not who he is. It's not a part of his character.

Yadriel is not the sort of person who bears grudges. He is not the sort of person who'll turn away love after years of scorn.

I'm not saying that's necessarily a good thing. But his decision made sense.

TL;DR people should analyse a character more deeply before flying off into moral rants and shit. It's a novel. It's literature. The characters are not supposed to be perfect you dumbfucks.

Bit of a vent well more like rant bc this popped into my head and I wanna talk about it.

So back in my freshman year of high-school there was this dude who would say weird shit to me but it was mean. Sometimes he would hit the side of my arm and it hurt.

Few days ago I told my mom this because we were talking about how kids get bullied n stuff and like why. So I told her "I think I was bullied?"

And when I told her she said "aww he liked you"

And I've never gotten so mad at my mom

(I love her to death tho she just old school. She's 57 ok she was born in the 60's)

I just said "NO WHAT THE HECK THAT'S STUPID"

Which I still think it is but then I remembered this one thing he said to me that really unnerved me

And now that I'm typing this I feel sick.

I think I even started panicking in the shower because I thought of it. It's scary.

Especially bc I'm small. I'm 4'10.
