Watched the MLB movie and I just. I WANT to gush about it but the fact that Marinette’s regular voice actor and her singing voice actor sound SO different just took me out of it every time and left me feeling very disengaged;; At least Adrien’s singing voice kind of sounds like his speaking voice (and Gabriel’s is 👌 bc my king Keith Silverstein can actually sing and he can sing REALLY fucking well) but Marinette’s. The voices are COMPLETELY different and it threw me off every single time. Like obviously her singing voice is really good and I understand why they picked that person to do her songs but bro you could have at least TRIED to get someone that sounds similar to Cristina Vee. It drove me nuts every time she sang bc I was like “That is CLEARLY a different person entirely!!”

I’m realizing this might have been a dubbing issue but still 😭 I feel like I would have enjoyed the movie way more if it didn’t look like Marinette was lip syncing the entire time bc there was such a huge disconnect between her speaking and singing voice

#Also I can’t fucking believe they did that to my boy Plagg. They RUINED him #He did not deserve that #Miraculous Ladybug #MLB #MLB movie #ALSO. Also. Personally. my overall brother ranking is here.... i thought about this a little more deeply and i think if you break down the definition of "i like this character" between "i like rotating this character in my head" and "i get joy from seeing this character in fanart/amv/official illustrations/merch", the rankings are different

rotation ranking: oso > totty >>>> choro >> kara = jyushi = ichi

joy from seeing them ranking: jyushi >>>>>> ichi > oso = kara = totty >>>>>>>> choro

#i don't dislike kara at all it's just that everyone rotates him for me so much so i don't get anything out of doing it myself #but i love seeing everyone else rotate him. he gets rotated so much. his AMVs are top notch #i do like thinking about him from a meta standpoint tho i think he's a very interesting case study of narration as a characterization tool #but i dont really think that counts lol #similar with ichi everyone rotates him for me and he's not the kind of character i'm drawn towards rotating anyways #if it werent for suuji da worl he'd probably be quite low on my ranking. but suuji da worl #i dont really rotate jyushi in my head that much i just really like seeing him. i have his little doll. little pug i love #chorochan can get a few revolutions in my head too. as a treat. i do think about him #he's very good thematically. i can appreciate that #but i point and laugh at him every time i see him in merch sets #every time i see jyushi in merch sets im cheering and cooing over how cutes he looks and everyone else is quite neutral to me #does this make sense #ask

I found this to be such a random comment until I realised it was Balgeum saying it and it suddenly felt so heavy

#his money trauma runs so deep he cant see how his behaviour hurts inho much more than any money issues could #or maybe he does and its just that bad that he cant physically stop himself #when he told inho to go back i was like my man he cant keep coming back until you have enough money to feel secure #if you dont deal with this now that insecurity is gonna run for the rest of your life and even if you do have money youll always worry abou #losing them and not be able to enjoy the comfort that comes with them #and youre always going to base your feeling of self worth on them #and your happiness and everything valuable in your life would be so easy to destroy #itd crumble #i want him to see the truth so bad it hurts me watching him go through it #im happy he was at least honest with inho #thats a step #hes gonna have to take a lot of small ones too #all of these hurt boys ugh #its such a pretty show and the comedy is fun and the acting is top notch that it makes me ignore how much sadness there actually is in ever #episode #and i recommend it as a light watch because they mix the sweet and the sour so well #but i feel for all of these characters #including hyejin lol #boys be brave

is anyone else genuinely enjoying the jungle or is it just me lol. like yes—it's very silly, no doubt—but it's definitely entertaining to watch (tbh i came at it with no particular expectations so it was actually better than I thought it would be.) Also gotta say i am curious about some of the backstories etc (especially whatever's up with the twins. this latest ep definitely took a turn—did their mom try to kill them?? did one of them try to kill her??) Anyway episode 5 was fun, I enjoyed the "lets pull a con together" plot.
