This is gonna be a short summary because it’s a very new idea lol, but basically, it’s a modern AU! Tommy has just run away from an abusive situation, and he’s waiting for a train in an underground train station. He’s got a friend in the area that he’s trying to get to, hoping that friend will let him stay at his house for a bit :’0

While waiting… well, long story short, Tommy discovers that a ghost haunts the train station! But he’s actually a quite friendly—and very weird—ghost! He and Tommy become friends :)

The ghost is Ghostbur, by the way. Kinda obvious lol

Wilbur feels really stupid right now—which, he supposes, makes sense. Anyone would feel stupid standing in a…

Well… maybe not everyone would feel stupid? Some people, at least, wouldn’t. Some people do things like this, come to places like this, all the time. Or at least once a week. It’s once a week, right? Something like that. 

Wilbur huffs out a breath, hands in the pockets of his long brown coat and smudged glasses sat atop his nose. People usually dress nicer when they go to a church, don’t they? They wear suits, and ties, and shiny black shoes. 

Wilbur glances down at his own worn footwear, gently lifting one leg. Dirt falls onto the floor, carried by the soles of his shoe from outside. 

Wilbur sighs, setting it back down. He is not fit to be in a church right now. He is most definitely not fit to be in a church right now. 

Hence, the reason he’s feeling stupid. One of the reasons, at least. 

Wilbur slowly lifts his head, dragging his eyes up the purple carpet and onto the stained glass set behind a wooden podium. He can’t really tell what the glass depicts; too many colors and shapes for that. He thinks that someone is kneeling, though. Bent down, head lowered. 

Should I be doing that?

Wilbur clears his throat. The sound seems to echo throughout the (quite small) building, bouncing around the white walls and black pews and all the other stained glass windows that stretch to the ceiling. It makes Wilbur feel small—smaller than the church.

Which makes sense, he thinks with slightly furrowed brows. He is smaller than the church. Obviously. Obviously, he’s smaller than the church. 

But still.

Wilbur closes his eyes, taking a very deep and very long breath. He feels his chest expand, his body rising ever so slightly taller, before the air is let out and his chest gets small and his body goes back to its usual height. He opens his eyes.

Wilbur feels really stupid right now. 

And he’s about to feel a little more stupid. 

“Hello.” The sound of his voice swims around the building, just like his cleared throat from earlier—except this time, the sound is louder. Almost startling, if Wilbur hadn’t known that it was his very own voice and not a stranger’s. 

But Wilbur does know. He does know that it’s his own voice. So it’s not startling. 

Wilbur swallows. “I um… wanted…”

Wanted? That’s not very true, is it? No. No, he never wanted to come here. He was told to come here.

Wilbur swallows again. “I came here, because… I think… it’ll help?”

Help. Help with what? 

“Y’know, just… it’ll help me get better, or something.” Wilbur says this with an almost-smile, gently bending forward before straightening. “I was told it would, at least. Help me. By um… someone.”

He clears his throat again, and wonders how many times someone can clear their throat before it starts hurting, or causes damage. 

He flicks his eyes to the podium. “Do you ever come inside this place, and listen? Or do you just…” He makes a gesture with one hand, pulling it out of his coat pocket. “Stay up there, all the time? Or wherever you reside.”

Silence is his answer.

Wilbur looks away, nodding his head and clucking his tongue. “Yeah, that’s what I thought you’d say. That’s what I thought.”

He blinks. You’re probably being too blunt. Too on the nose. 

“I’m- gosh, what am I even doing?” Wilbur takes a tiny step backwards, looking around. “I don’t- y’know, I haven’t been in a building like this in ages. Not since I was a kid, I don’t think.

“Oh.” Wilbur’s eyes brighten, slightly, and he turns back to the stained glass at the front. “I should talk about that, probably. I probably should. My history, with places like these, I mean.”

“Yes!” The man answered eagerly, nodding. “Yesterday! Yesterday was a very eventful day for me—for everyone, judging by the massive hole in L’manburg and how sad everyone looks.”

He said that with a happy lilt in his voice, like he was discussing a new pet. 

Phil began to notice how the man’s voice sounded; high-pitched and scratchy. Not smooth and deep-toned. 

The icy burn in Phil’s chest flickered again. “It, uh… eventful. Yes. It was… it was very eventful. That’s one word for it.”

The man brightened, opening his mouth and beginning to chatter about something Phil had no interest in listening to.

All Phil heard was high-pitched, scratchy. 

All he heard was the sound of something wrong. 

All he heard was someone who didn’t sound like his son.

And yet: 

“Wil?” Phil said it in a whisper, in a breath, the words leaving his chest and taking with it his supply of oxygen. His throat tightened. 

The man went quiet, the smile finally leaving his face in a soft drop, like a curtain closing. He tilted his head slightly. “Hello. Philza, I am very dead.”

The bluntness was enough to shock some air back into Phil’s lungs, and he gulped shakily. “W-what?”

“I’m dead!” The man repeated, tinged with something bright and sharp and almost searing. “You killed me yesterday, remember? That was why- that was why I said yesterday was eventful! That was why!” In a bubbly chuckle, he’d added, “It’s not everyday that someone dies—in this server, I mean. I’m not sure about other servers. Phil, you’ve been to other servers, haven’t you? Do lots of people die in those servers?”

“You- you’re-“ 

The man—dead man, not alive, not alive. Not alive?—watched with wide eyes as Phil stuttered, licked his lips, tried to speak. “You’re… you said you… died?”

“Oh yes! I died, and now I’m dead but still here, but I think I sound different and everyone looks at me like I did something horrible and some of them look like they hate me.” The man blinked, putting on a smile at once. “I’m a ghost!”

And that was when Phil realized; the voice, the skin, the sweater, the smile. The way the man—ghost—stood just a little taller than Phil, and Phil didn’t have to turn his head up to make eye contact. Phil could just turn his eyes up, and not his head. 

That wasn’t right. His son was much taller than this. 

Phil swallowed, and the icy burn in his chest went out in a horrible painless snuff. “What’s your name?”

The dead man stared at him, and he smiled again. “My name is Ghostbur!”

Phil should not have let himself hope.

"You just shot a tree instead of the target, Tommy!" Wilbur's voice turns sharp like saltwater, and Tommy shuts his mouth. 

Wilbur takes a deep breath through his nose—it's loud, and that's how Tommy can tell it's from his nose and not from his mouth—and comes to a stop. He's right in front of Tommy, several feet away, and the wind is blowing at his coat and making his hair dance a little bit, across his forehead. "You're not good with a bow. That's the simple truth, Tommy. You're not."

Wilbur's voice isn't saltwater anymore; it's back to being river water, all smooth and cold and filled with weird things like wet leaves and mud. Tommy prefers this to the saltwater, but he thinks that Wilbur's voice used to be different, still. Maybe not like water at all. Maybe just like Wilbur, and nothing else. 

Tommy realizes he’s been standing still for several seconds, so he shifts his feet, sniffing. “Well. What do you want me to do about it?”

Wilbur blinks, eyes narrowed just a little bit. “Get better. That’s what I’m helping you with. Now,” Wilbur takes a few backwards steps, back to where he’d been standing before Tommy shot an arrow into a tree. “Try again.”

When he steps forward and presses his lips to hers, the sun shines directly into his eyes, and he closes them. He wants to stay like this forever. Even if he can't see. 

Like Eurydice and Orpheus, he thinks. 

When Sally pulls away, Wilbur feels a weight in his arms. When he looks down, he sees Fundy settled in them. The baby is nearly asleep, limp with eyes mostly-closed. He's wearing a light blue onesie. He's adorable. 

When Wilbur looks back up, Sally has taken several steps back. He opens his mouth to call her back, but closes it. 

Sally shakes her head, smiling through tears. "If I stay any longer, I'll never leave."

If you stay any longer, I won't let you.

Wilbur doesn't say that. He merely presses his lips together and tries to smile. Fundy is feather-light in his arms.

Ghostbur begins to hum, quietly, as he works on bandaging Tommy’s arm. Tommy can’t tell what song Ghostbur is humming, but it sounds nice; soft and gentle and all that. Maybe Ghostbur made it up. 

“Tommy?”

Tommy takes a breath, straightening his back a little bit (it’s starting to get sore). “Yeah?”

“How did you hurt yourself?”

“I already told you, Ghostbur.”

Ghostbur is quiet for a few moments. 

Tommy turns his head, just a little bit, so he can see his friend. “You forgot?”

“Don’t- don’t look.” Ghostbur quickly pulls one hand away from the bandage, pushing it into Tommy’s face and forcing his head away. “I don’t want you to look.”

“Fine, fine.” Tommy breathes in, deep. “I fell.”

“Fell from what?” Ghostbur’s voice is friendly, conversational. Not a bit of malice or that wrinkled-lip-ness that sometimes makes it’s way through voices. 

Come to think of it, Tommy doesn’t think that Ghostbur has ever sounded like that. Mean, that is. 

“A little, y’know. A tower.”

“Oh.” Ghostbur’s fingers prod along Tommy’s arm, but it’s gentle, so Tommy doesn’t yelp or anything. “Why did you jump off a tower?”

At this, Tommy feels his face burn. “I was… I was trying to do something.”

“Trying to do what?”

“Quit asking so many questions, man! Jeez! You’re proper annoying me right now.”

“Were you trying to do a water bucket clutch?”

Tommy opens and closes his mouth. He doesn’t say anything—can’t say anything, really. How did he-

“Tommy, that was not a very smart thing to do.”

“Oh, shut up! You’re just saying that because-“

“Hold still.”

Tommy grumbles, holding himself steady even though he desperately wants to stand up and smack Ghostbur on the face.

Is there a fic concept you have that you'd like to just explain and share because you're not sure you'll ever write it? If so, what is it?

Mmm… I’d really want to write a super long one-shot about Wilbur and Phil, and how they slowly and painstakingly heal after Wilbur is revived… but that’s a very Big Project, and I’m not sure if I’ll get around to it :’(

This is my petty complaint time, this video annoys me SO MUCH and even more so what annoys me is that the latest comment on it is this:

And yes, I've been thinking about this stream for nearly three years now, I've been meaning to go through it to critique Wilbur's arguments, I just never got around to it

Wilbur: "Tubbo, you've created an anti-state capitalist dystopia"

So all Tubbo had explained so far was that his town had a big company that owned two other big companies. Nothing about the government or anything. It's true that one company owning all the major businesses is pretty dystopian, sure, but I have no idea where Wilbur got the "anti-state" thing from, usually capitalist companies are fine with the existence of states, states do a lot of dirty work for the capitalists

Spoiler alert: Tubbo's city turns out to be pretty much a city state so Wilbur is just wrong anyway, not that he ever acknowledges it even when it does come up

Also it's not like corporate acquisitions are completely unheard of in the UK, as far as I know. Admittedly the UK is also arguably a capitalist dystopia but you know what I mean, the concept shouldn't be all that shocking to Wilbur

He's being so dramatic and trying to make it sound like he's caught Tubbo in a mistake or something. He also keeps asking questions and then not letting Tubbo answer properly before taking like one word Tubbo says and running with it

But this is the one that I find the most obnoxious:

T: "I did some research into like economics and stuff and I discovered this thing called UBI, have you heard of it?"

W: "What's it stand for?"

T: "Universal Basic Income"

W: "Yeah, I know about that"

He clearly does not know what UBI is.

It becomes very apparent very quickly:

W: "So you've got universal basic income but then also the rich exist still?"

T: "Yeah! Yeah they do."

W: "How does that come about then,"

T: "So in my mind--"

W: "is this universal basic income different for different people?"

T: "No, no, the universal basic income is better for everyone, just the people who have--"

W: "In order for there to be a 1% that means someone's earning more,"

T: "Yes, someone is earning more"

W: "but that means the universal basic income isn't universal!"

T: "No no no, not everyone's getting paid the same but everyone gets the same to begin with, okay? But then you can build on top of it."

W: "Oh no, you've got a-- Tubbo, you've got a fucking social point system!"

T: "Have I made a social point system??"

W: "Tubbo, you've made China!"

None of what Wilbur says makes ANY sense here. The only explanation I can think of is that he didn't know what UBI was, made an assumption that it just meant "everybody gets paid the same amount of money" or something like that and then just spoke fast enough that Tubbo couldn't correct him

Tubbo is correct here, Tubbo knows what he's talking about, but he can't out-speak Wilbur who is just throwing so much bullshit out of his mouth that there's no time to even respond

So, UBI means that everyone in the society gets a regular payment of a specific amount of money that's the same for everyone regardless of their life situation (and generally a requirement would be that it has to be enough to live on, altho people do like to water this down a lot...) This would be completely irrelevant to your wages or salary or capital gains. You can choose to either live on the UBI or you can just do the regular capitalist things to earn extra money on top of the UBI

Obviously I'm not one of those people who think that UBI would solve all of world's problems, I mean I am an anarchist and all (and not an ancap either), but it's literally just a very streamlined welfare system. That's all. It would probably be a lot better than the current models we have but it's not fundamentally different. There's nothing particularly weird about it, the point is just to make sure that everyone has enough money to live on, in every other regard it's just normal capitalism

Wilbur completely misunderstands the whole thing (because, again, he does not know what UBI is so he's just trying to imagine what it might mean based on what Tubbo is saying) and jumps immediately to something he apparently has heard of, which is the Chinese social credit system, which has nothing to do with UBI. In fact I'm pretty sure it also doesn't actually have anything to do with income either, or at least not directly, so I don't think Wilbur knows what the social credit system is either

He's literally just talking in buzzwords

Like if you actually wanted to make a leftist critique of Tubbo's city, you could, don't get me wrong. But instead Wilbur keeps insisting that he's made a social point system despite Tubbo trying to explain why it's not that at all

Wilbur just keeps yelling over Tubbo until his own chat turns against him and finally Tubbo himself also kinda gives up

And from there Tubbo also kinda just starts playing into the bit and just lets Wilbur direct the whole conversation, the rest of it is just them getting more and more into the roleplay. Wilbur keeps talking about the state pension plan, even though Tubbo already tried to explain that it's part of the UBI (this actually is how UBI is supposed to work, it does indeed streamline most of the welfare spending! Obviously you can still raise questions about that (I can think of a few at least) but Wilbur didn't let Tubbo explain so I have no idea what Tubbo actually had in mind)

I could try to go through all of what Wilbur says here but it's just too much, so maybe some other time. Although to be honest there are so many other streams that I probably should talk about instead that some fans unfortunately took a bit too seriously because they assumed Wilbur knew what he was talking about

My point here is mainly that just because someone sounds really confident and knows a bunch of buzzwords doesn't mean they know what they're talking about.

I will say one more thing before moving the fuck on and waiting for more. Cause I have a feeling there will be more eventually.

I am completely believing and supporting Shubble. Shubble’s the victim and she did not name her abuser for a reason. We should not jeopardize her plans.

Now, on a unrelated note, I will still be supporting Wilbur as well until if he’s found to be 100% clearly the guy who Shubble is talking about.

I believe in innocent until proven guilty and similarities and coincidences (like Wilbur also being a biter and someone with a messy place (and an ant infestation), and Zoe leaving Lovejoy for some reason) don’t equal evidence.

It’s hearsay and conjecture and I want to see more shit then that to believe that Wilbur’s the abuser.

So, I believe Shubble and that she needs all the support she can get. And I believe that Wilbur is innocent. Until there’s a legitimate update, I will be moving on from this.

Speculating on who the abuser is will only put Shubble in more danger. There’s no good result coming from jumping conclusions right now.

Hug Shubble and keep Wilbur out of this until there’s a legitimate connection. And even if there is a connection, focus on helping Shubble. We aren’t the law, y’all!

These days I've seen a few people (haters for sure) saying that the QSMP has few to none diversity and that makes me mad so let me list the diversity of this two month old server:

Inside of lore

We have diversity in family dynamics:

-Homoparental families

-"Nuclear" families

- A Platonic partner family (I don't know what's the proper word to describe Jaiden, Roier and Bobby's situation pls tell me if you know/ EDIT: I've been informed the proper term would be "Queer platonic relationship").

- Single parents

We have LBTQ+ representation:

-Gay characters

Roier

-Bisexual characters

Vegetta, Rubius

-Aroace characters

Jaiden, Maximus (he's actually acespec)

-Lesbian characters

Baghera (EDIT: Idk about her anymore, sorry)

-Trans characters -including gender fluid and non binary

Juanaflippa, Tilín, Leonarda, Maximus, Trump

-Characters with disabilities

Richarlyson (the Brazilians noticed he has a shorter leg and that's why fanartists draw him with a prosthetic leg + we have collectively decided he's black).

We have people of color (some of them are clearly mestizos, meaning they have both native and white genes)

We have diversity of languages:

Spanish, French, Portuguese and English (for now).

Now... The point that I've seen people the most confused about:

So yeah... The QSMP DOES have diversity.

(My only criticism is that we definitely need more female Content creators but hopefully we'll have them in the future. I'm looking at you Quackity, don't disappoint me. If I'm missing something let me know so I can edit it).

guys. we are missing out on the potential of an elementary school PTA au for qsmp. think real housewives kind of drama. quackity is the PTA president because he's old friends with a lot of the school board even though he doesn't show up to like half the meetings because he's busy. there's so much gossip about who the father of his kid is and he definitely gets judgemental side eye from the other parents about it. tilin is doing well at least? even if they do spend more time at roier and jaiden's house than their own sometimes.

bad is another other single parent but he doesn't get gossiped about because he always runs the bake sale fundraiser and does a great job at it so no one wants to upset him. bad and dapper are the type of parent child duo where bad keeps dapper up to date on ALL the drama going on with the other parents (to a child friendly degree) and dapper is going to grow up to be the worst gossip just like his dad.

no one knows what the fuck is going on with charlie and mariana's marriage. if you ask charlie they're in the middle of a divorce. if you ask mariana they're doing perfectly well they just got into a couple's spat this week and charlie is dramatic. what do you mean it happens every week? no no you misunderstood they're doing fine they're definitely not getting a divorce. literally the only thing they have going for them is how both of them went to bat for juanaflippa when she told them she was a girl it's the sole reason the other parents respect them. what's a more pressing issue is that juanaflippa keeps trying to start fights on the playground and instead of discouraging her charlie and mariana both cheer her on and give her lessons on how to punch people.

phil is one of the older parents and is already experienced since he has an adult child and wasn't planning on having another, but he's done the parent game before which is probably part of why chayanne is at the top of his class while also excelling in his karate classes, softball practice, cross country team, etc. missa is his trophy husband who's just happy to be there. literal "she's everything / he's just ken" moment.

yknow when there's that one mom in the PTA group who is very stereotypically attractive and everyone is convinced she was the mistress for her current husband and caused his last divorce? that's foolish. no one trusts him to be around their partners despite the fact that he didn't cheat!!! at the same time, the minute doors are closed everyone is trying to flirt with him and gets frustrated when he insists he's loyal to vegetta. at least leonarda seems happy.

jaiden and roier are like the picture perfect parents with bobby. he and chayanne constantly compete for the top spot in their class. both jaiden and roier work as lawyers and there was a rumor going around that they were representing charlie and mariana respectively for potential divorce number 3 but this didn't seem to cause any tension between them. roier takes over to lead the PTA meetings when quackity can't make it while jaiden sits in the corner awkwardly trying to keep charlie from getting into an argument with mariana again.

no one has seen spreen in ages. there's another rumored divorce going on between him and fit but instead of making it as public as charlie and mariana's problems fit just makes snide comments about his absent husband here and there.

tallulah transferred to the school in the middle of the year and phil invited wilbur to the PTA meetings so he could be involved in the school. quackity and wilbur are exes and while wilbur insists tilin isn't his kid no one quite believes him. he's a very young single parent though and clearly has no idea what he's doing so even if it's a bit strange that his kid is almost the same age as his little brother chayanne, the other parents are relieved that phil seems to be taking the reigns to help him out. also wilbur is a famous musician and he's gotten asked for autographs from some of the other parents of kids in tallulah's class.

dan and maxo only showed up to the first PTA meeting and never came back. trump transferred schools and no one has heard from them since.

I feel like this is probably an unpopular opinion (that’s why I’m posting here and not on twitter) but I just wanna know if anyone else feels this way.

Obviously, I think Wilbur is the one Shelby is talking about, and as someone who was also abused, I feel stronger hearing her story. I hope she’s able to find peace soon.

Maybe I’m just an overly optimistic person, but I think Wilbur needs help. A lot of it. And I think, probably not a popular idea, that even though he’s a piece of shit in this situation, that he deserves it.

I’m an overly trusting person by nature. Obviously I wasn’t there when any of this happened. I am just a stranger on the internet. I don’t know what went on, I didn’t see anything happen. However, I think I want Wilbur to get better and I think he can.

He needs to be deplatformed. At least until he has PUBLICLY apologized to Shelby, and is showing to his friends (not us, the audience, not only Shelby, EVERYONE HE KNOWS PERSONALLY) that he is making an effort to never treat another person like that again. But I think, and please don’t come with your pitchforks for me, the person Wilbur abuses the most is himself.

He clearly has other problems that are not making him a good person. Mental health is not a excuse for poor behavior. However, it is an explanation. Your mental health issues and trauma are not your fault, however, managing both those things are unfortunately YOUR responsibility. They are HIS Responsibility to fix and manage, not Shelby’s, not Phil’s, not James, NO ONE BUT HIM.

Call me stupid, or crazy, or whatever, but I firmly believe in the idea of (almost) every human being capable of change. I have siblings who used to treat me terribly, who are much older than me, and I was hurt by them. But as I grew, I saw them realize just how terrible they treated me. They changed their behavior, and apologized to me many many times. They showed me people can wake up and change their lives around. And, whether or not Wilbur comes back to content creation, I hope he gets the help he so clearly needs.

Shelby owes him nothing. His fan base owes him nothing. His friends owe him nothing. Wilbur owes them everything. Shelby deserves to hold back her forgiveness when it so clearly isn’t deserved. She should never forgive him if she doesn’t want to. That’s her right.

Maybe I believe in people too much. But I truly hope he changes. Not only for his friends, family, and loved ones, but for his own sake. He’s going to end up dead if he continues this way, and I believe no one deserves to die. (I’m not even for the death penalty. Let them sit and suffer forever).

Anyway, get some rest all, drink some water, and remember that the world becoming a better place starts with you. Treat people the way you wanna be treated. 💕

Update: Wilbur’s response was absolutely awful, no surprise there. As someone else who responded said, abusers often don’t think of themselves as such. I still hope he gets help. Props to ranboo and all the others standing up to him. I hope this wakes him the fuck up. Until further notice, please stop supporting him. Unfollow him, un add his music, whatever you can to get him to deeply regret this shit he’s done. Those were his actions. These are the consequences.

So I'm looking at this picture of Ted and Wilbur from Ted's new video about directing the Lovejoy music video. Laurel and I notice Wilbur's watching Twitch in this one picture on his phone. We make jokes about how he's probably watching a Philza stream because that's clearly Minecraft.

We joke about what he could be watching. The Ted video stresses, over and over again, that the entire thing was filmed on May 15th.

And realize. What happened on May 15th that would have Wilbur watching Twitch while hanging out on a music video set. And we do a quick QSMP wiki search.

I rewatched the Hitting on 16 vod and I have some thoughts.

Revivebur has so many delusions of grandeur. He thinks being the former president of a country that doesn’t exist anymore because he blew it up gives him any significance beyond being feared by the few major characters who couldn’t take him in a fight. In reality, this is so far from the truth that it’s laughable. The only reason that people like Skeppy fear him is because they don’t realize how pathetic he is now; they see him as this powerful figure who blew up a country, without realizing that he had no idea what he was doing as president and that he blew up L’Manberg in a time where he was not there mentally.

I love the moments in hitting on 16 where he assumes Quackity is going to give him Las Nevadas or that he must think about him all the time. Wil clearly is a person who was once important but has since become irrelevant due to time and is doing everything he can to boost his shattered ego. He is very cocky and tries to seem dignified but that confident persona shatters the moment something is said that he doesn’t like and he has to fight to not go off on an angry rant right there.

Also, the freaking poem he wrote just trash talking las Nevadas. He’s so petty and it’s just a joy to watch. And the way he gets increasingly panicked in the final confrontation over Quackity’s horse is just so- Augh /pos. He’s completely lost control of a plan that he thought he had considered every minute detail of and doesn’t know how to bounce back.

Hitting on 16 is definitely my favorite thing that has come out of DSMP. I love it. Please, if you can watch the stream or read the fic (without supporting cc!Wilbur) do so.

Can we please keep in mind that given what we know, there's a strong chance plenty of Wilbur's friends were blindsided by this, and could very well be grieving that someone so close to them turned out to be this horrific?

Given we KNOW Wilbur meticulously kept up a facade socially and publicly, there's a strong chance they had little to no idea he was that way unless they personally witnessed the behaviors. That's horrifying.

I personally know what it's like to have someone you talked to and hung out with near-daily for YEARS to turn out to be a disgusting, lying, fake and awful person. You feel betrayed, sick, angry, confused, devastated. You need time to emotionally process that. ESPECIALLY before doing something like making a public statement about "your stance" on the matter. Some of the people we know felt like family to Wilbur, genuinely, even despite all the jokes that got old so fast within the community. And they could've gone the whole time not knowing all this.

That's not something you get over instantly. That's not something you can think clearly through right away. Anyone demanding a nuanced and well-thought out statement rejecting and condemning Wilbur ASAP for their own satisfaction are stupid as hell. You don't care about the situation, you're fishing for internet points by being ready to pull the trigger on anyone who doesn't say something the moment you expect them to. You care more about Looking like you have humanity by attacking abusers and abuse apologists, instead of Actually having humanity in realizing this has a real impact on real people with real emotions.

They're fucking grieving. And we've seen from plenty of them who thought of him as a friend that Have said something already that they are also ANGRY.

Those who have yet to speak up are likely still processing their emotions. Or processing what they want to say. Or perhaps are even personally affected by the situation as victims of abuse themselves, and therefore NEED to step back before they say anything, if they say anything at all.

They could also be saying something where we can't see. They don't owe the public shit, anything they'd say wouldn't be for us. We aren't entitled to their thoughts or their explicit rejection of Wilbur. Which is Also why anyone demanding instant statements from anyone is a fucking moron. They don't need to "prove" to us that they don't support Wilbur anymore. That's not what anything to do with this situation is about. That's not what matters here.

What matters is they've personally given Shelby their support; which is 10x more meaningful given directly to her rather than in public where it's also largely to please anyone scrutinizing them. What matters is they've stopped engaging with Wilbur, removed his presence from their personal content (ex: Phil removed his point redemption audios that had Wilbur in them), etc. Actions speak louder than words.

Some of you are just fucking lazy and don't want to look deeper, you want convenient and perfectly crafted statements for your satisfaction and comfort right away.

TLDR: think fucking harder before you open your mouth about any cc's reaction to Wilbur or his statement. These people were friends with him (many are also friends with Shelby!), trusted him, etc. There's nuance to situations like these whether you like it or not, and ccs saying anything where you can see it at the exact moment you want them to is not something any of us are owed.

Fuck Wilbur. Fuck his garbage statement. But if you're more focused on hounding every cc who ever knew him publicly to cater to you for one reason or another the second you want them to, fuck you too.
