pirate king epilogue: hongjoong || atz
The sky is a light blue today.
In the conference room, both booted feet propped up on the table, Hongjoong leans back in his chair with his eyes closed, listening to the officers sitting at the meeting table with him debate heatedly in raised voices.
“We can’t just go after the pirates at Tortuga! It’s the strongest pirate base, and even if we expend all our efforts to capture it, the pirates will just head for the Windward passage and escape, all our efforts to capture them will be for naught!”
“I know that. But as you said, Tortuga is the largest pirate base operating right now, and if we don’t strike first, there’s no telling if other pirates will move to back it up.”
“But-”
“Silence, the lot of you. I’m thinking.”
The quarrelling officers abruptly fall silent at that one command, turning to look at Hongjoong, who’s been lounging there without a word for the entire meeting. His poisonous green eye is narrowed as he levels a piercing stare slowly at all of them, arms crossed over his chest. An officer swallows.
“Yes, sir.”
“Mingi, get the map out for me.”
The tall man rises from his seat to stride over to the bookshelves, pulling out a heavy oakwood box reinforced with iron strips and setting it on the table with a heavy thump. Reaching into the pocket of his navy blue coat, he pulls out an iron key and sets it into the lock, before he removes several yellowing pieces of parchment from within the box and places them on the table.
Hongjoong leans forward, placing his chin on interlaced fingers as he studies the maps laid out before him with a critical eye. The rest of the officers don’t say a word, only watching the man at work with a mixture of slight doubt and anticipation, wondering what plan he’s going to fashion to eradicate the pirate strongholds once and for all.
Kim Hongjoong. Ex-captain of the pirate ship called the Treasure. Known as the ruthless Pirate King by any who had encountered him and even those who hadn’t, immortalised in folk tales and stories that crossed lips to ears.
And yet, here he is, sitting before them in the flesh. Rising through the ranks rapidly, from a nameless trainee to the Commander in Chief of the Piracy Eradication Expedition. Younger than many of them have expected. Smaller than many of them have imagined him to be.
There are rumours that the Queen herself places high hopes on him.
“We’ll carry out a pre-emptive attack on Tortuga first.” Hongjoong finally says slowly, voice even and measured. The officer who had protested this earlier moves to argue.
“Sir, here are fierce currents around the island port, we won’t be able to launch a concentrated attack. Doing so would be expending too many men and resources. How are we going to capture it?”
“I said, we’re launching a pre-emptive attack first.” Hongjoong says evenly, tapping a finger against the paper. “Send in some men to burn the food stores and warehouses, and cut off the pirates trying to escape at Hispaniola. I want to flush them all towards the Windward Passage.”
“Sir, isn’t that allowing them to escape?” A newer officer raises his hand timidly, and Mingi raises a sharp eyebrow.
“Are you implying that captain, I mean, Commander is trying to help them escape just because he was a former pirate?”
The younger officer blanches, waving his hands desperately. “No, no, I meant-”
“Mingi, stop scaring him.” Hongjoong cuts in before the poor man can finish his apology. “I haven’t finished explaining my plan. I want another fleet to head to Port Royal discretely and do the same.”
An older officer tilts his head as he looks at the map, half moon glasses falling over his nose. “Flush pirates from both strongholds towards the Windward Passage? Will they not choose to work together and attack the Royal Navy in a bid to escape?”
Hongjoong shakes his head. “It’s not a pirate’s nature to work with others. Besides, all those pirates must be running low on supplies since we burned all their food. Ships usually don’t stock up on supplies right until they leave port to keep their food fresh.” He draws a circle at the Windward Passage, eyes cold. “If any of them encounter each other, well... it’s likely that they’ll end up fighting each other for supplies.”
“You’re going to let them fight it out while all we have to do is stand watch at the sides.” The older officer says quietly, raising an eyebrow. The rest of the officers are silent, studying the map intensely as they try to envision the plan. “A pincer attack, but the bulk of the fighting won’t be done by our men. Quite the devious plan, Commander. It is not one I would have thought of.”
There’s a slight meaning to his words, and Mingi bristles slightly at the tone of his voice. “What are you trying to say here, Advisor Bang?”
“Mingi, sit.” Hongjoong speaks before Mingi can say anymore. “He’s not wrong.”
Advisor Bang continues to watch him for a moment more before letting out a sigh and fixing his glasses. “Well, then. I will bring up this plan with the Commander of the Royal Navy and see it approved. A devious plan, yes, but ingenious, no less.” His clear brown eyes, still sharp despite his age, fix on Hongjoong. “I suppose you already have designated fleets in mind for your plan?”
“I have people trained for underhanded means like this. And as for the fleets, I’ll trust you with it, Advisor Bang.” Hongjoong rises to his feet, adjusting his coat and inclining his head slightly to the advisor. “If there’s nothing else to discuss, I’ll be leaving first.”
Before he steps out of the door, Mingi trailing behind him, he pauses and turns back to look at the officers still seated with a calm stare. “Also, we won’t be meeting tomorrow for drill training since it’ll rain. That’s all.”
With those words, he leaves the room, the door clicking shut behind him. The moment he leaves, the officers relax visibly, some even slumping over in their seats and rubbing their temples.
“Why must the commander be so intimidating all the time?” The younger officer wails, burying his face in his hands. His friend pats him on the back, trying to reassure him.
“I mean, he’s cool, isn’t he? He used to be the legendary Pirate King, you know!”
“Who doesn’t know that? Having all that pirate experience must be amazing, he can predict all their behaviour so easily.” The younger officer retorts, smacking his friend’s hand away before he looks cautiously at the door his superior has just left. “He’s still terrifying, though, even though he’s joined the navy.”
His friend nods, frowning. “He’s a harsh taskmaster, alright. But the great thing is, no drill training tomorrow since it’ll rain! I can finally have a day off!”
“What? Isn’t the sun shining so brightly today? What does he mean it’s going to rain- ow! Why did you smack me?”
“Commander has a gift for these kind of things.” His friend whispers to him conspiratorially, shoving the maps back into the chest. “You’re still wet behind the ears, there’s a lot you don’t know.”
Advisor Bang doesn’t say a word, only looking out window at the sun shining brightly outside the window. Lips pressed into a straight line, he recalls the one eyed pirate turned commander, and lets out a small laugh.
What an intriguing man.
>>>
The second Hongjoong reaches his office, he takes a seat behind his desk, a soft groan of pain leaving his lips as he rubs his temples. Mingi clucks in fright, rushing over to his captain’s side. “Captain! Captain, are you alright?”
“I’m fine. Just the headaches, as usual.” Hongjoong struggles to blink away the bright flashes of noise and colour that run wildly in his mind. The phantom smell of sea salt and storm thick in air makes it difficult to breathe and he pops open the top two buttons of his uniform shirt to ease his breathing, the white material damp with cold sweat. “Also, don’t call me captain. I don’t have a ship anymore, don’t you remember?”
“You’ll have your own ship for the PIracy Eradication Expedition, so I don’t see why not.” Mingi retorts sharply, moving towards the shelves and drawing out a little round pill from a glass bottle. “Here, have a painkiller.”
“Thanks.” Hongjoong mutters, throwing it into his mouth and biting down hard on it. The bitter herbal taste makes him gag at first, but then it’s soothed by the sweetness of honey. “Reminds me, I need to head to San’s apothecary today and get more of these.”
Mingi frowns, taking a seat in front of Hongjoong’s desk to stare at his captain. “Captain, be honest with me. How bad has it gotten?”
“Not too bad,” Hongjoong tries to say weakly, but from the expression on Mingi’s face, he isn’t buying any of it. “Alright, fine. I’ve been hearing things, seeing things. Like hallucinations.”
Mingi swallows, fingers digging into the wood grain of the desk as he looks at his captain. He feels painfully helpless at the sight of his best friend suffering before him like this, and he’s unable to do a thing. “Hallucinations of what?”
“A woman.” Hongjoong exhales, a hand running through his hair. roughly. “A woman with one hand, and the clearest eyes I’ve seen. When she smiles, my heart aches. When she cries, I feel like I’m bleeding. She asks me for her name, and I know it’s there, on the tip of my tongue, but everytime I try to say it, she disappears into the waves.” He sighs, teeth gritted. “And when I wake up, I never remember what her name is.”
Mingi looks at his captain slowly. “Captain... seriously, this can’t be good for you. We should look for more doctors, see if anyone can treat you. Of course I trust in San-ie’s skills, but...”
Hongjoong shakes his head. “No, San used his healing powers on me. He says there’s some sort of powerful magical affliction on my mind, and he’s working on it. All he can do now is give me painkillers and sleeping pills.”
Mingi opens his mouth to say something else, but Hongjoong cuts him off, rising to his feet. “Enough, Mingi. I’m really alright, I’ve gotten used to it. The headaches aren’t that bad, and San’s medicine is effective. I’ve just got to pick up some more from his shop later. That’s all. Now, don’t you have a meeting with the rest of the lieutenants?”
“Yes,” Mingi protests, “but-”
“I’ll be fine on my own, so shoo.” Hongjoong says, stretching. “Go on, Mingi. I want to take a short walk to the cove. I’m fine now, I promise.”
Mingi hesitates, before he rises to his feet. “Alright. But you tell me the second it gets worse, got it?”
Hongjoong nods obediently, a slight, fond smile on his face. “Understood.”
When Mingi leaves, Hongjoong lets out a sigh and places his forehead against the table, closing his eye. The second his eyes close, the memory of howling wind and unnatural massive waves fill his mind again, and he rises to his feet hurriedly, shaking his head.
Pulling off his coat, he reaches into his wardrobe for the red fox fur coat and shrugs it around his shoulders. The material soft against his skin, he buries his fingers into the thick fur and takes a deep breath, feeling his headache abate ever so slightly.
He should get to San’s.
>>>
San comes back to the shop toting baskets full of weeds and flowers.
“Oh, captain, you’re here!” San tries to wave as he steps in from the back door, very nearly trips and Hongjoong catches the basket that falls from his hands just before it can hit the ground. “Thanks for that.”
“I wasn’t expecting to come here to see a closed shop today.” Hongjoong remarks, turning to look at San’s worktable in the back. Just as he thought, there’s no space to put absolutely anything.
“I decided to go foraging. I got a good haul, there’s just this huge patch of patchouli growing out back.” San babbles excitedly, balancing the baskets on his arms expertly. “I didn’t think I’d get so many though, so I didn’t call Wooyoung to help out. He’s busy today, anyway.”
Hongjoong takes a seat at the wooden table, shifting the messy stacks of stacks and random twigs on the table top to make space for San’s baskets as the man moves to wash the dirt from his face and hands at the washbasin. “Wooyoung? What’s he up to?”
“Babysitting the younger ones at the orphanage with Yunho while Yeosang gives his literary classes.” San calls, drying off his hands and slipping his usual apron around his neck. Bunches of wildflowers hang out of the front pocket, and Hongjoong recognises eidelweiss and dandelion. “What about you, Mr Commander of the Royal Navy? What brings you to this humble abode?”
“Don’t call me that.” The side of Hongjoong’s mouth curls up in a slight smile of amusement as he shakes his head at San. “I need more of the painkillers.”
San pauses, before he frowns sympathetically. “You’re not the only one who needs them. Yeosang has been having some strange dreams lately. Have they gotten worse?”
Hongjoong nods wordlessly.
“The woman...” San hesitates for a moment, fingers stilling on the long stem ofa flower. “What does she do? What does she say?”
Hongjoong chews on his lower lip, slightly confused by the tone of San’s voice. “Well, it varies. Sometimes she smiles, sometimes she laughs, sometimes she’s crying. No matter what she does, she always asks me for her name at the end. But I just don’t... know her name.”
San smiles wistfully at the flower down in his hands for a moment, a soft murmur leaving his lips. “Oh, no. You do, you just don’t remember it.”
Hongjoong raises an eyebrow, tilting his head in confusion. “What did you say?”
“Nothing.” With a slight smile, San shakes his head and resumes snipping the leaves off the stem with a pair of scissors. “Well, I did read about this ancient method where people cut open their skulls to let the bad stuff out, and apparently the patients survive. No records on effectiveness, though. Want to try it out?”
“Just say you want to kill me and be done with it.” Hongjoong snorts, leaning his chin on his palm as he regards the healer. “San, this... not knowing what’s going on, not remembering... it’s tiring.”
San’s face softens minutely. “I know.” He says quietly, and as he passes by his captain to the shelves at the back, he drops a soft pat on Hongjoong’s head. “You’re hanging in there, captain. It’s admirable.”
Hongjoong lets out a little laugh. “There’s no one to impress. Except the Queen herself, maybe.”
“Didn’t they say you’d get a private audience with her if you succeed at this expedition?” San calls from behind, and Hongjoong can hear the rattling of glass jars. “That reminds me, how is the planning going?”
Hongjoong watches a spider in the corner of the room slowly making its web. “Good. We finalised plans today, and we’re just waiting for approval to go ahead with preparations. Which reminds me too, San.” Hongjoong turns to look at his healer, busily collecting pills from various jars. “Would you be willing to join me again... on an expedition?”
“Pshh.” San snorts loudly, and very near drops a jar. “Even if the Commander of the Royal Navy himself came and begged, I’m not going back out there into that dangerous ocean! Once was more than enough, I don’t know how I’m still alive. Never again! I’ve got an amazing shop to run and money to make. I was never meant for that crazy sort of lifestyle.”
Hongjoong lets out a soft laugh, but looks down at the table in understanding. “Got it. I won’t ask again.”
“But...” San’s voice is a little softer this time, and Hongjoong looks up to see the slightest smile on the man’s face as he sets down a neatly packaged parcel filled with paper pill sachets. “If it’s Captain asking, then who am I to disobey orders?”
This time, Hongjoong really laughs. “You little bastard.”
“Come on, as if we can’t tell that you were already planning to ask us to come with you. How long have we known each other?” San snorts, rapping his captain on the head with his knuckles. “I’ve arranged for some people to take over my shop for the time being, Yeosang, Yunho and Wooyoung have been waiting for you to ask them as well. We’re following you no matter where you go, captain. Just like the good old times, eh?”
“Yeah.” Hongjoong’s smile is calm now, and he picks up the packet, stuffing it into his coat as he rises to his feet. “I’ll see you on board soon, then. Have fun finding your sea legs again.”
San glares. “Shut it before I change my mind. The thought of being seasick for a whole week might just outweigh any loyalty I have for you.” He warns, and Hongjoong laughs, waving as he steps out of the shop. “See you soon, Hongjoong.”
>>>
The walk to the cove along the docks is peaceful. The sun has just begun to set, and at the docks the fishermen have just begun to bring their boats back to shore. Lost in thought, Hongjoong doesn’t hear someone calling his name until a few drops of water land on his nose and cheek.
“Who is it-” He whirls around in surprise, before he sees a familiar man sitting in a small fishing boat next to the docks, face twisted into a slight scowl of exasperation and an incriminating oar in hands. “Jongho! I didn’t notice you were there.”
“I called you ten times, damn you.” Jongho grumbles, setting his oar down. He jabs a finger at his nets, and Hongjoong whistles in appreciation at the number of fish he sees. “Woah, that’s a good catch today.”
“Exactly.” Jongho says shortly, face still fixed in his permanent stoic expression. “I’m bringing these over to Seonghwa-hyung’s eatery tonight, so you’d better come eat dinner with us. I’ve caught a yellowtail, so Seonghwa-hyung’s gonna make his signature braised yellowtail stew.” A hint of nostalgia runs through Hongjoong for no reason, and his head pounds a little. “Got it?”
Under his rock hard exterior, Hongjoong can see the hint of concern in his youngest’s eyes and his face instinctively softens in a reassuring smile. “I promise I’ll make it. Sorry for making you worry, Jongho-ah.”
Jongho splashes water at him with his oar, and Hongjoong is forced to leap out of the way of the droplets. “I’m not worried.” He says flatly, before turning back to busy himself with his nets. Hongjoong can see that his ears are slightly red. “See you later for dinner, captain.”
Hongjoong smiles at his back, taking off at a brisk walk again, a slight spring in his step.
“See you later, Jongho.”
>>>
When he reaches the little beach, the sun has just begun to dip behind the horizon.
Hongjoong takes a seat on white sand, letting out a soft sigh. This beach is isolated from the town, and takes walking quite a distance to reach here, thus there aren’t many people who come here or even know about its existence. That’s why Hongjoong likes it so much. It gives him a place to think, to relax, to try and... remember.
Closing his eyes, he lies back in the sand and exhales loudly.
What is it that he’s missing?
Three years ago, the Treasure had been caught in a massive storm during a face off with an armada of the Royal Navy. The ship had been damaged beyond repair, but was still seaworthy enough to stay afloat until the Navy had come to arrest all of them and haul them to prison.
Hongjoong had been found along with Yeosang and Wooyoung, unconscious on a small strip of sand, and San had been picked up with the rest of the crew. All of them had been brought back to the Royal Navy headquarters, where a high ranking official had given Hongjoong a choice: join the Royal Navy and have his crew spared, or die by the noose with them.
Of course, Hongjoong chose the former.
It wasn’t the wrong choice to make, Hongjoong thinks quietly as he watches the sky darken, bit by bit. It wasn’t the wrong choice at all. Everyone is leading fulfilling lives now, peaceful and content. Seonghwa has opened up his eatery, which became an instant hit in his hometown Nassau, although Hongjoong sometimes wonders if the patrons go there for his food or for him. He supposes the cute godson that comes over every weekend doesn’t hurt either.
Yeosang has become a teacher who gives weekly lesson at the local orphanage, while Yunho and Wooyoung who help him do odd jobs in between and squabbling the entire time. San has his apothecary, although some people are scared away by how eccentric he likes to act sometimes, and Jongho is fishing like he’s always wanted to, following in his father’s footsteps. Mingi followed him even into the Royal Navy, acting as his supporter and lieutenant, just like he has all his life.
And Hongjoong is here.
Content, happy, and at peace.
But he’s still missing something.
It feels like a gaping chasm in his heart.
With a sigh, he sits up to look at the horizon. The sun has almost sunken completely behind the waves, orange light slowly swallowed by the sea, and Hongjoong gets to his feet slowly, brushing off his trousers. If he leaves any later he’ll be late for dinner, and neither Jongho’s chokeholds or Seonghwa’s flying knives are something he wants to deal with.
He turns to look at the horizon a final time.
And stops dead in his tracks.
He sees a ship silhouetted against the dying rays of light where the sky meets the see, its outline ghostly and faint. Torn sails and chipped wood with the barely visible word Mael something painted along the side, Hongjoong doesn’t understand just how that ship is still afloat, but then he catches sight of a man standing at the port side of the ship, and somehow, Hongjoong feels like that persons looking straight at him.
A familiar feeling wells up in him, he knows this gaze. The word forms on the tip of his tongue before he knows it.
“Father?”
But when he blinks again, the ship vanishes together with the last rays of light just as the sun dips behind the horizon.
Still reeling, Hongjoon stands stock still on the beach, gazing out in the direction of the water. What had he just... seen?
It begins slowly at first. The tide pulls back slowly, further and further out, before they twist and turn like they’re alive. Hongjoong can’t move, every bone in his body in shock, and watches as the waves rise and swirl lazily to form a path of bone dry land to the beach from the heart of the sea.
Suddenly, the scene before him overlaps with a dream he’s seen many times in his mind. The woman, smiling at him last one last time, walking towards the sea as it rises around her, a whisper hanging from her lips, “Please don’t forget me, okay?”
Hongjoong takes a step forward. It can’t be.
Promise me, tomorrow won’t be the end.
Another step, another step.
No matter what, we’ll find our way to each other somehow.
Faster. He’s running as fast as he can.
A familiar figure steps out of the waves, and even though it’s dark, Hongjoong knows who it is, and throws himself into her arms.
“You’re back.” Hongjoong sobs, blubbering, feeling warm skin and soft flesh under his fingers. “You’re alive. You didn’t die. Y-you...” He can’t believe it. A wild dream come true, memories pouring into his mind all at once like a floodgate finally opened after three years. “You came back.”
The person smiles, wiping the tears from his cheeks with one hand while the other traces his eyepatch gently. Warm, warm and real. “I did. I promised, didn’t I?” Your voice is just like how he remembers it, clear and honest, not a hint of deceit in every word that leaves your lips. “Tell me, Hongjoong. Call my name again.”
Hongjoong sobs harder, but his laugh is bright enough to light up the dark beach all on its own.
“Your name,” he says, “is Chin Hae.”
“That’s right.” You say, and kiss him.

Chapter 9
“I am going to kill Jin hyung and Jungkook once they are back” he snorted sharply while throwing glances at the round clock.
“Gosh, 8 minutes and counting yet they are not here. Where the hell are those two?” Jimin wiggled his dangly legs in frustration. He found himself getting annoyed with the waiting, it was torturous considering there was a ticking bomb outside. The girl that he met earlier, he still couldn’t find the heart to trust her. It seemed all lies.
Not seem, it was too vague. He was confident her forehead spelled LIES since the beginning.
Sauntering to the door, he pressed his ears against it with hope he could catch the sound of movement from outside. His lips pursed into a small pout “It is quiet, has she left?” he was about to twist the doorknob but only to be welcomed by a loud knock on the door.
“Let me do my job, get out” she scowled. Seul continued to pound the door lightly using the black vacuum in her hand. He got to be kidding her, she needed to leave as soon as possible before unwanted faces Min Yoongi showed up and things got even messier than before.
Startled at the sudden impact beyond the door, Jimin straighten his body as his brows pinched together, unamused by the tone of her voice “Skip my room. I can clean it later, plus I can’t trust you just yet” he cleared his throat to ease the awkwardness.
“It is not just your room you know. It is Hoseok-ssi too. Have you asked him to skip the cleaning today?” Seul pressed with an intention to tease the shy guy even though it was pointless. She found it was amusing to tease him consider how he easily got startled.
“Hoseok-ssi? Hyung will be fine, he has the cleanest room. There is nothing to clean here. J..ust.. go away… you weirdo” he murmured the last word afraid it might offend the other party.
“But…” she glanced at the name on the door before continues, since Jimin mentioned Hoseok then the person beyond the door must be Jimin. “Jimin-ssi, you might have a clean-freak roommate, too bad you are not Hoseok-ssi. I can tell your boxer is laying freely on the floor screaming for help” she smug.
Needless to say, it was barely two months since she started doing this job, yet Seul was able to catch up some of their habit. For instance, how Jimin loved to trash his boxer on the floor openly. When she first tended the job, Seul was honestly disgusted by that. However, as time passed, she was used to seeing Jimin’s infamous boxer came with different set of colour and pattern whereby sometimes it could be a sore to her eyes.
Jimin eyes rounded at her response “W-hat…are you..” his eyes scanned his room and it stopped at the corner of the room where he could find his purple boxer laid helplessly there. Just how much this girl knew about him? About them? His cheeks turned fifty shades of pink at the thought of Seul picking up his boxer from the floor and did the laundry afterwards. That was embarrassing.
“Are you… how did you know? You are creeping me out!” he gasped dramatically.
Seul’s eyes rolled a little “Whatever you say drama queen. Don’t blame me for your messy room” paying no attention to Jimin’s childish tantrum, Seul proceeded with her cleaning to the next room. The door said Min Yoongi and Kim Seokjin’s rooms, she stared angrily at the name of “Min Yoongi” hoping this would be all nightmare.
------------------
Reluctantly, she entered the room and started the cleaning “Somehow it contrary to his foul mouth, his room is not that messy, as usual. Thank god, I don’t have to clean a lot today” she vacuumed the whole room while humming to Tony Montana. Yes, odd but it came out naturally without she realized.
On the other side, Jimin exasperated a sigh of relief knowing you had moved on to other room and stopped pestering him. Ironically, he was a little conscious with your presence there. He sat on his bed, reflected on many things like how he let a stranger saw the most private part of his life; his body and boxer.
She cleaned the dust on Yoongi’s shelf, patting the books softly, she arranged it accordingly which apparently gave satisfaction for her in the end. Seul was a little too perfectionist sometimes. Her eyes landed at the picture frame on the nightstand, something was pulling her close and she found herself had the photo in her hand already.
Her eyes scrutinized every face in the photos with a small smile “They look happy, he takes after his father I supposed” she never expected a harsh guy like Yoongi would have a family frame close to his bed, guess he is a family guy after all. Appearance can be deceiving most of the time. Who was she to judge him? If an only she had no issues with Yoongi, he could be a possible future friend.
Seul put down the frame quickly as it came to her realization, this was an invasion of privacy. It did not end right there, she was attracted to this one corner with different polaroid hung neatly there. She could see Bangtan group photos together, his selfie and a white mushy little creature namely Min Holly. A smile spread across her face at the sight “Aww, Min Holly is adorable. How can a guy like him pet something cute like this? Min Holly sure deserved better” she mentally judged him with a deep frown.
This was not her first time cleaning their rooms and she paid no attention to it before, why out of all day she was so interested with Min Yoongi’s room. Like everything that she learned from his room did not reflect his attitude. Who is the real Min Yoongi? She pondered upon the idea of finding the real Suga and reality hit her hard. She was wasting her precious time for someone who didn’t deserve her attention.
Seul shuddered at the mistakes that she almost commits few seconds ago. Moving on to Seokjin’s room, Seul must stop herself from getting involved in someone’s else life. After all, she had no intention to befriend any of Bangtan members. That would be the craziest idea that she ever had in life.
Seokjin’s room was as cleaned as Yoongi, so it took her only ten minutes to clean everything. Seul was ready to leave but something brushed passed her legs causing her to squirm in fear. She jumped a little finding the source of movement beneath her “What the hell was that?” tucking the strand of hair behind her ears, she crouched down to have a better view of it.
Without she realized, something slipped inside her hoodies making her to excrete the highest squeal of century “OH MY GOD WHAT THE HELL WHAT IS THIS” she jumped a little tried to get rid of the moving creatures underneath her hoodies. It was a total chaos when the thing started to slide creepily around her neck.
“HELP ME OH MY GOD! HELP HELP” she screamed.
Her voice sure garnered Jimin’s attention “What was that? Did she just call for help” he was contemplating whether to check on her, but the voice got louder and unstoppable? Gathering his courage, Jimin dashed out to the source of the voice only to be welcomed by jumpy Seul.
“THANK GOD! HELP ME PLEASE! THERE IS SOMETHING MOVING INSIDE MY HOODIE HELP ME OH GOD!” Seul squealed in panic. Her cheeks were flushed and Seul’s unsteady breathing feared Jimin that she was not kidding about it.
Jimin approached the scared girl with wide eyes “What should I do, what is inside your hoodie” he questioned.
“HOW SHOULD I KNOW! It is moving under my shirt, GOSH PLEASE HELP ME FASTER” she hurriedly pushed her hoodies above her head, but it got stuck in the middle. “Are you just going to stand there, help me to take this off me” she mumbled underneath the thick clothing.
“Okay wait wait!” Jimin held her arms, and carefully pulled the hoodie. He found it was harder with her moving around so he warned her to calm down and sat her down on Jin’s bed “Now, I will get this hoodie off you” he exclaimed.
Why the hell am I doing this. Helping a freak like her. He deadpanned mentally.
Jimin got hold the hoodie with both of hands and pulled it off exerting a small force careful not to hurt Seul in any way. Little did he know the moment when he pulled the hoodie it came together with the only piece which supposed to cover Seul’s body “Okay I am do-SHIT!” he gulped and immediately blushed.
He saw two small creatures moving away from Seul’s skin underneath Jin’s pillow looking for a place to hide. It was Jin’s sugar glider Odeng-ie and Eomuk-ie. Jimin’s attention now was not on the sugar glider but shirtless Seul.
Seul felt the coldness embracing her skin as she quickly brushed off her hair from covering her eyes, and it hit her hard upon seeing the shirt and hoodies in Jimin’s grips. “Shit…” Jimin cussed under his breath.
“WHAT IN THE WORLD” she covered her chest instantly and screeched crazily. Jimin flinched at her loudness, charging towards her “YAH TONE DOWN YOUR VOICE! PEOPLE MIGHT THINK SOMEONE IS IN DANGER!” Seul was alarmed by his sudden movement.
She let negative thoughts flowed in, making her shifted backwards in defence. Jimin’s legs were caught on the vacuum below him as he landed on his side in the centre of what appeared to be Seul’s body, their bodies were pressed together.
Her heart stopped beating, she didn’t get to breathe anymore. Jimin was way too close, super close to her that she could feel his fine body against her bare one. Oh god, that sounded so wrong, but it was the truth.
Both Seul and Jimin froze, having a staring contest seemed to be out of context now however for some reason this happened to them now. They were both paralyzed did not know how to react. Jimin had one of his hand rested at the side of the bed to balance himself at first, yet it failed him.
A familiar gruff voice brought them out of their daze “What the fuck?” the individual let out a loud gasp.
Seul pushed Jimin off him and hurriedly took her hoodies, putting it on with deep taint blushes spread across her cheeks. She tried to digest everything that happened to her few minutes ago, did Jimin just see her in her bra and he kind of fall above her? Her breath hitched at the memories which she wished to erase.
Jimin groaned while rubbing his bottom “Oww, what the hell woman!” he growled and stood up.
“Jimin what the hell? Why are you with her? In that.. Wait let me process this, what the hell did you guys do? Did you?” before he could jump into any conclusion Seul cut him off “NO! If that is what you think, he was trying to help me with something” she mumbled timidly.
Yoongi snorted with a sarcastic remark “By undressing each other?” he eyed Seul from top to bottom. She felt so violated with that sexy eyes of him, and she mustered her courage to shoot a death glare his way. First of all, need her to remind everyone, she shared an oh not accidental kiss with Yoongi before, and now getting caught in act by Yoongi like this didn’t do any better.
“Something moved inside my hoodie! I was trying to get help!” she justified herself.
Jimin butt in “Yes, it is not like what you think. Odeng and Eomuk got away from their cage!” he went to pick the cause of the problem underneath the pillows and showed it to Yoongi as if it is the evidence of the crime scene. He hoped it could resolve the misunderstanding.
“THEY WERE IN MY SHIRT?” Seul shrieked in disbelief.
She sighed deeply “Since when Seokjin-ssi pet them?”
“He umm… brought them in yesterday” he didn’t even dare to meet eyes with the girl in front of him. Everything happened too fast and the image of her remained fresh in his mind. This was awful.
Yoongi had enough watching those two getting all worked up in front of him and decided to have a private conversation with Seul “Leave us alone, I need to talk to her privately” his eyes were as hard as stone, it was intimidating.
“Hyung.. are you-?”
“YES! Out now Jimin” he ordered. The younger guy scurried off without complain though he was dead curious what was about to happen between them.
For once, Seul didn’t want to let Jimin go, as much as she hated the scenes moment ago, she would rather to stay with Jimin all day rather than Min Yoongi. Now, he is going to confront her about the lies and the kiss. How was she going to escape this?
She found herself shuddered under his hard gaze, taking few steps behind to create space between them Seul managed to stutter the words out “What.. d-o you w-ant” Yoongi tilted his head accompanied his little devil smug.
“You of course” he replied bluntly.
Seul jolted in fear “W-hat….”
“Need me to remind you, the thing that you did to me weeks ago?” he came closer weakened Seul’s knees. She was in deep shits with no place to escape. Speaking of escape plane, didn’t she plan to play dumb and pretended nothing happened between them.
Yes, that was her master plan. Play dumb and act you are innocent.
“Umm..no.. I cant recall” Seul coughed a little, looking away while taking a slow step back until her back hits the cold glass door behind her. Her mind started to panic as soon Yoongi closes the gap between them, she hated the look in his eyes. It was a hint of playfulness and annoyance. The combination was driving her crazy.
“Really? Try to remember it again?” he trapped Seul in between, smirking at her reluctance.
“You must be mistaken, I am here to do my job. And I am done, so I must go now. Please excuse me” she pushed his shoulder, so it could open a path for her to walk and breathe especially.
He pinned Seul’s shoulder, staring into her eyes deeply “I remember how our lips move, though you really caught me off guard that day. I would not forget how you kiss me” one of his brow arched in amusement.
How persistence. What an interesting girl. Yoongi chuckled in his head.
“Wh-at are you talking about? That sounds so wrong. I DIDN’T KISS YOU” she snarled angrily.
“Oh speaking of playing hard to get little missy. Do I need to bring you back to that day?” he leaned his face dangerously close to Seul. One more swift movement, his lips would sweep hers immediately. Seul’s breath hitched at the close proximity, while her mind finding way to escape this evil lair.
He scanned her face from her long lashes which batted beautifully, followed by her unsteady breathing, it was intriguing to see how she mewled under him. Yoongi took the chance to appreciate her natural beauty up close, the last time he was closed to a woman, he paid no heed to her facial. Until today, he realized how woman’s facial bones differ from a man like him. Giving it how a woman had a feminine face in comparison to a man.
“What are you doing, get off me” Seul chewed her lower lips slowly afraid a slight movement by her might cause another kiss tragedy between him and Yoongi. It would be bad if they kissed again. The first one might be intentional, to save her ass. But the second one later would be confusing to her.
“Are you by any chance like me?”
“NO WAY YOU COCKY ASSHOLE! WHY WOULD I? YOU ARE LIKE A TOTAL JERK!” the foul mouth Seul is back to attack causing the latter to chuckle softly, impress of her sinful mouth.
Yoongi rolled his eyes “You will be regretting it for calling me a cocky asshole. But, you still kissed me though, doesn’t it imply something. Or are you trying to seduce us? Just how you get Jimin?” he accused.
Seul was offended by his words, now that calls for real fight. Did he just indirectly turn her into a psycho bitch “The kiss was a mistake!I… did that to defend myself. You were about to murder me, you jerk! Jimin-ssi was helping me from murdering Jin’s new pets! ARE YOU INSANE?” Yoongi whom first jerked his head backward now return to his earlier position.
Their lips were now inch close again making Seul’s lips sealed completely.
Jerk, jerk! Jerk! She cursed angrily in her head.
“Now you remember, I thought you forgot it completely. I guess you are still reminded by that. By the kisses that we shared” he smirked.
“For your information, there is no kisses. It was only a kiss. Don’t get ahead yourself”
“Oh, lets make them kisses then”
Just like that, her lips are reunited with Yoongi soft one. Her adrenaline rush was so high at the moment and Seul had no idea how to recover from it. The way his small lips move against her was driving her mind crazy.
Did it just happen? Another incidental kiss with Yoongi?
Why is he kissing me! Seul screamed mentally. Part of her wanted to push him off, but why her muscle didn’t budge. Screw this.
Ji Seul, you are so done.

Nocturna: Part III
The fragile peace between undead and lycanth is imperilled your arrival to the Inferorum Castrum. Between the changing power dynamics of the wolf pack and the insatiable urges of the vampire king, you aren’t exactly sure where your loyalty lies.
Protagonists: Im Jaebeom | You | Bang Chan
Word Count: 2.9k
Genre: NSFW | Supernatural!au | Vampires | Werewolves | Angst | Romance | Love Triangle
Nocturna Masterlist | HALLOWEEN
The second time you wake in this foreign place, you’re still as disoriented. It takes a moment for you to understand you’re being actively shaken to consciousness. Then, another minute to recognize your surroundings and the man waking you. Well, not a man, Jaebeom.
“There’s not much time left before dawn,” he states, looking away, “I can’t let you rest more.” You’re soft and out of it when he sits you upwards. With warm water, he wipes away all traces of your run into the woods, fall, the attack, his feeding, and your intercourse. When your upper body is all clean from the blood and the dirt, he slides a cream shirt over your head. It is way too large, it falls down to your knee.
As if reading your mind, he clarifies; “Your clothes are ruined, you would get asked too many questions.” You could explain to him that coming back late from a hunting expedition in nothing but a man’s shirt won’t do much better, but you lack the strength. You are not exactly yourself. He stops wiping your feet to look at you, sensing this. “What’s wrong?”
“Dizzy,” you mutter, head doddering.
A dimple digs between his perfectly straight brows. Jaebeom brings his wrist to your forehead. “I think you have a fever,” he announces. He can’t tell because his body doesn’t match, but your skin is very damp. “I… It’s the blood loss...” He mutters, having never seen a human unwell after drinking from a vampire. For your kind, black undead blood is a magical cure. You were fine the first time, you’ll be alright. “We need to leave before sunrise.”
“Are we going to Ia-” You’re gagged before you can finish your sentence. Jaebeom brings an index to his lips, crimson eyes narrowing. Right. You aren’t supposed to say anything out loud in this place... He said so yesterday, or tonight, you aren’t sure what day or what time it is. You’re lost. He must think you’re the dumbest person he’s met.
“I’m escorting you out.” Jaebeom nods, still bashfully avoiding your gaze. He stands, tugging you with him. You extirpate yourself from his large bed, body aching all over. “One more thing, before we go out...” He pulls you into him easily since you’re all sluggish. Then he presses his mouth to your ear, barely audible; “Do not look anywhere, do not step away, do not talk at all, do not even breathe somebody’s way. Do you understand?”
“W-What?” Your head falls back and Jaebeom cages your chin to hold it straight, confusion painted all over his face. He curses between his teeth, a swear so ancient you have never heard it before.
“Focus, tidbit, this is important.” The vampire hushes, annoyed. “It’s the only way I can honour my end of our deal. None should be curious about you. They should forget about your existence the moment you leave these walls.”
“Who?”
“My Court. Do you understand me?”
“Sure.” You agree, too confused to care. You can’t keep up with anything he’s saying right now. Jaebeom sights, hesitating before lightly kissing your pout. You don’t jerk away.
He brings his palm to your heart, feeling it in your chest as though he’s worried about your well-being. Everything sounds fine, but you are off and feeble. You were a lot more doubtful, curious and combative at twilight. He doesn’t understand why you’re in such bad shape, you should’ve recovered by now. He braces himself, grabbing your hand instead of your waist as he turns the doorknob. Most vampires should be in their rooms, ready to get to rest for the day, and the diurnal beasts shouldn’t even be up yet. Ideally, no one should see you, even if they heard. He never brings humans over, and although he can do however he pleases, if someone saw you, he wouldn’t hear the end of it. There’s also a chance you’d be at risk in the future. He has many enemies and they'd wonder if they can get to him through you. If you're special somehow.
Dizzy, you watch as Jaebeom cracks the door, glancing at the large stone corridor you only got a glimpse of yesterday. Whatever he sees seems to please him, because he exits quietly. Pulling you behind, he moves fast by a multitude of closed doors, turning every corner with evident apprehension. After a few minutes of walk, you give up trying to understand where you are going at all. Whatever this place is, it’s a gigantic maze. You follow his instructions, breathing cautiously and always staying a step away. Without warning, Jaebeom suddenly stops moving, body tensing. His face is wiped clean when he turns to gesture you to stare at the ground. Unsure of what’s going on, you still obey, feeling something bad is bound to happen. He starts to walk again, faster, and you look fixedly at the gray stone floor as it becomes a luxurious red carpet.
“Jaebeom-iiiiiiie.” Someone chirps up ahead, barely making the undead slow down. That’s probably why he tensed, you realize in horror. Another vampire? Hiding behind your loose hair, you keep your head down and follow him like a shadow. “Isn't it too early for you to go out?”
At that Jaebeom stops walking altogether, so abruptly that you collide with his back. “You’re the one who's up before dawn,” he retorts, cold but casual. Trying to be forgotten, you stubbornly keep your gaze glued down. You stare until dark dots are dancing in front of your eyes. You really aren’t feeling all that well...
“I haven’t slept much, you were being loud.” There’s a low laugh that ends in a weird cackle following. Don’t look, you tell yourself, fighting against your natural curiosity. “Besides, you wouldn’t believe the crazy thing that happened to one of my Betas yesterday...” At that, Jaebeom bends his elbow, bringing you all the way against his back.
“I know of everything that transpires here,” he hums threateningly.
“Really?” Another laugh, and this time the urge is too strong. You raise your head, sneaking a glance above Jaebeom’s shoulder.
A stranger is leaning back against large wooden doors, as though waiting for you two. That is clearly the exit to this odd castle. The new creature tilts his head and wiggles his fingers in front of him, catching you looking. He’s short but has a large built, very impressive. He also has way more colours than Jaebeom, and abysmal black eyes. Not a vampire but inhuman beyond the shadow of a doubt. You are not sure how, but even at first glance, you immediately know what he is. Your nape tingles weirdly, shivers running down your spine.
“It doesn’t seem like you do, Jaeboem-ie.” The massive wolf-man nods his chin your way saying that, and you duck back behind the vampire’s shoulder. “Stealing from us to warm your bed for a night, it’s unlike you to be so reckless”
“Stealing?” Jaebeom snorts defiantly. “Last I heard, you were still guests on my land. I go and feed as I please. In my Castrum, your pack abides my rules.”
“Sure, I remember,” the dark one crinkles his nose, “the treaty hasn’t aged as well as me...”
“It’s a very generous pledge.” Monotonic, a newcomer in your back intervenes. Jaebeom, who was as strained as a pulled bowstring, immediately relaxes against you.
“Ah, at last!” The wolf pushes away from the door at the entrance. He stretches his arms in an offbeat welcoming gesture, “the reasonable cold-one! I was so worried you already went to rest, Jinyoung-ie!” Without meaning to, you turn to assess the second creature. Clearly an undead. If his ethereal pale skin hadn’t given it away, the bloody steel scowl you briefly meet would’ve for sure.
“I was about to,” Jinyoung replies, remaining inhumanly still, “but I heard you troubling the king, Jackson.”
“K-King?” You repeat under your breath, heart quickening as your mouth opens in astonishment. No one minds you, but Jaebeom squeezes your hand twice.
“Troubling him? I’m the one dealing with the distress he caused my pack!”
“Enough!” Jaebeom roars, exasperated. “Stop yapping nonsense and let me out!”
Jackson laughs once more at his anger, way too exaggeratedly. His amusement is obviously fake and does sound like a mad dog barking. If Jaebeom is his king, it sure doesn't feel like it. There must be a lot of bad blood between them. Uncomfortable, you wiggle from one foot to the other. The wolf-man ceases his howling to dart his black eyes on you, amusement giving place to something strangely just as warm.
“Nice to formally meet you, pup...” His expression twists into a large grin, “Jackson Wang, Alpha of the Bang Pack.”
Jaebeom reacts as though you've been directly threatened by the greeting. He turns to shield you with his arms, grunting as a warning. The other vampire also steps between both creatures, though still highly apathetic.
Jackson whistles, impressed by the scale of the reaction obtained. “You’re confused, Jaebeom-ie. She’s not yours to protect...” Claiming this, he raises his hand to the East side of the large Hall.
Summoned, another figure extirpates itself from the shadows. A silver-head you recognize instantly. There’s a strong pull in your stomach and warmness spreads through your body at his familiar sight. So, it wasn’t all a dream, Chan truly is here with these creatures. Has he lied to you all this time about his identity, or is there something you're missing? This is everything Jaebeom warned should not happen. If he hates wolves like he claimed, why are these two guests in his Castrum? Right now, you can't even begin to make sense of everything.
“Hello again, Jeonha.” Chan tilts his head your way, walking to the other wolf’s side. He looks tired and jittery, concerned. His eyes become two thin lines as he asses you from head to toe. There’s no hint of beastliness in them at all this time. You've never seen your old friend this agitated and distressed. You should reassure him, but Jaebeom beats you to it.
“Keep your paws to yourself, mutt,” the king warns, voice distorted, “or lose them.”
The larger wolf bursts out laughing for the hundredth time, “WOW!” Jackson claps, hysterical with merriment. The others wait for it to go by, unsurprised as if this happens to him regularly. “I think there’s a human saying… About history-”
“How are you?” Chan interrupts, unable to hold back anymore. "Has he hurt you?" Unable to not reply when your friend is staring at you like that, you shake your head from side to side. He sighs in relief but still anxiously runs a hand in his curls. You're puzzled, the scene in the forest is flashing through your fuzzy mind. What happened between you two, who attacked you? He seems so worried. You can’t keep up with this messy situation. After a quick look at Jackson, Chan straightens and raises two fingers in front of him, bending them in an invitation. “Come here,” he commands with a deeper voice, one you have never heard him before. The vampire's arm on your waist tightens dolorously, and scary sounds birth at the back of his throat. “Here,” Chan repeats with a short nod, looking more drained and this time your whole body trembles. It is weird, as though you are yearning to obey. He doesn’t miss it and smiles tentatively, lips curving upwards, inviting... “It’s okay, you are safe now. I’m here.” His dimpled grin is simply contagious, irresistible. It's familiar, comforting and safe. You've been cherishing that smile of him for years. Craving to get closer, your right foot slides forward on the carpet causing the king to look down at you, shocked.
“Where are you going?” Jaebeom might be whispering, but you’re certain every creature in the large hall hears. “That beast attacked you.”
Impossible. Your friend wouldn't hurt you. Shaking your head in denial sends your hair flying around. You almost lose your balance trying to free yourself away from the confused vampire's grasp. Chan’s irides slide to the corner of his eyes to the larger wolf, a silent exchange you miss.
“It’s almost dawn, Jackson.” The second undead points out, sounding a little less bored than prior. “My patience is wearing thin.”
“Well, Jinyoung-ie… Let me enlighten you.” Smiling cockily, the broad wolf walks up to him. “See, your king has been whoring around with my new whelp.” Whatever this means, everyone instantly reacts but you. For the first time since you’ve gotten out of his room, Jaebeom jerks away, putting some space between your bodies. “And obviously I couldn’t sleep because her-”
“What’s going on...” Your legs wobble, missing his support.
“- mate wouldn’t stop whining about it!”
“Are you sick?” Chan promptly steps closer, alarmed at your feeble state. Unfortunately, he pauses halfway to you when Jaebeom's glare falls on him.
“I merely stopped your dog from bleeding her out, Jackson. What I did with the human afterwards is none of your business.” The vampire king's chin raises with pride. You wonder how you missed his rank before when he’s so obviously noble. “I was there, I saw him hurt her.”
“I would never!” Chan barks, outraged by the accusation. He braves the earlier threat to walk up to you. “I tried to explain everything to you yesterday, Jeonha. She's mine.”
The younger man doesn’t mind the vampire hissing through his teeth this time. When his hand wraps around your elbow to hold you up, you aren’t strong enough to even consider pulling away. Chan’s touch is warm and reassuring, scorching after Jaebeom’s unnatural dead one. He’s home when you are so lost and hazy, always has been. You can’t wrap your head around the possibility he could ever harm you. You've both saved and protected each other's lives many times in the past.
“That young wolf, isn't he Bang?” Jinyoung asks, getting ahead of something his king has missed. “Alpha legacy.” You’re too weak to listen to the rest of the heated exchange that follows.
“C-Chan... I don’t feel…” Like his chest is a magnet, you lean closer until your back is enveloped in him. This is soothing, your whole body hurts.
“Sssh...” Your friend brings his palm to your sweaty forehead, wiping cold sweat. “You’re safe, I got you now y/n... ”
“Y/n.” The king echoes in pure consternation.
“H-home,” you whine, eyelids heavy.
“I know… I’m so sorry, but you'll need a few days. Don’t worry, I’ll take care of gran.”
“How does the dog know your name?” Jaebeom’s stare is so deadly when you meet it, that you almost throw up at its intensity.
“Chan's my f-friend...” You reply, faintly, and his face twists in disgust like you’ve disappointed him.
“You have our sincere apologies, Jackson.” Jinyoung interrupts, dignified as he looks at the tense scene. “The king made an honest mistake. We won't interfere with your business again.”
At that, Jaebeom throws his arms to the side, angrier than before. “I don’t care, I’m not letting them turn her! I promised the human a safe return!”
“You’ve always been so dramatic and short-sighted, Jaebeom-ie.” Jackson rolls his eyes back. “Couldn’t you tell while you were fucking her?”
“She’s already marked, Jeonha...” The other vampire explains, way more pragmatic.
“I’m w-what...” Disoriented, you slip away from Chan’s grip and tumble forward. You’re hallucinating. The four creatures aren’t really there. You aren’t in this Hall, in this place. You’re dreaming. You’re back home in your bed. You have a fever. “You killed me.” When the young hunter reaches for your shoulders, you shrink on yourself.
“I didn’t,” Chan pleads, desperate, “I chose you!”
“I'm d-dying...” Your eyes barely focus, the rest of the room is fading.
“You've been poisoned.” Someone shouts a protest from across the room but Chan goes on even louder; “You just need to sleep. The hours following marking are painful...”
Shaking your head, you crouch on the floor, breathing rendered heavy. No one moves, watching you curl on yourself on the carpet. You fist your hair, miserable.
Now everything hurts.
“For the record, the whelp left our wing alive, Jackson.” Dignified, the second vampire darts his bloody gaze on his king, who remains frozen still.
“Of course you put it that way, Jinyoung!” The older wolf grunts sarcastically, pushing himself away from the wall to glare at both undead, “You can’t have another diplomatic incident...”
“She isn’t responsive,” Chan snivels, sounding far away.
“I've fed her bloo-”
“Again, we won’t acknowledge that.” Jinyoung cuts off his king, successfully shutting him up.
“But it's obviously his venom!” Chan protests, mad. “She should be fine. She would’ve healed much slower without-”
“Chan! If she dies it’s on you,” his Alpha intervenes, warning with a deep voice; “not the king.” He’s skeptical as his Beta kneels. “You said she was a hunter, that she could take the bite. You guaranteed i- ”
“She’s it,” Chan pulls you into his arms. You’re so out of your mind that you don’t notice when he stands to carry you out.
“It’s dawn, Jeonha.” Jinyoung coldly points out for Jaebeom who still hasn't moved. He doesn’t get the hype surrounding you at all, you aren’t that pretty. For all the vampire cares... You should die, it’d be less trouble. The king seems rather shaken though, and he hopes the current tensions at the Castrum won’t worsen.

Wedding meme for Jack and Jenny please?!?!
wedding headcanons | accepting
where they get married: Outside, like in a little grassy area near a little banquet hall, under a tree? They then go inside to the hall for the reception because Jenny had so much anxiety about getting rained on.
when they get married ( ie what time of day, what month and season etc. ): Early summer, like late May-mid-June. It’s the end of the school year and it’s nice and warm, so it works out nicely. Their ceremony is probably around noon
what traditions they include ( do they get married under a chuppah and crush a glass, garter toss, ‘something borrowed, something blue,’ etc. ): I feel like their wedding is pretty mellow over all? I mean, they do the usual ones, like the ones mentioned in this meme (best man speech, first dance, bouquet toss, etc.), and I also imagine Jenny is very insistent about Jack not seeing her before the wedding day, insisting that it’s bad luck. Jenny also does some research and they do some Gaelic wedding traditions as well, like handfasting and a traditional Celtic wedding pledge after they give their own vows. But other than that, they’re pretty much your average American wedding
what their wedding cake looks like: Super lowkey. I actually bet a friend made it for them? Just because the cakes were so expensive and their wedding was so small, they figured it would be easier to just have someone they knew do it. As a result, it’s a pretty simple cake, probably two tiers, likely buying into the naked cake trend with real flowers as accents? Looking something like this, maybe?
….who smashes cake into whose face: Jenny smashes it into Jack’s face first and he only retaliates after she does. Marco also does it to Matilda because he is confused and thinks that’s what everyone is doing now.
who proposed to who first: Jack, although Marco accidentally spills the beans before hand.
who walks down the aisle and who waits at the altar ( or neither ): Jenny walks down the aisle, Jack is stationed at the alter. I don’t know if she’d have anyone walk her down the aisle, but Matilda gives her mom away and I could see Marco insisting that he get to do that with Jack? And they decided they liked symbolism and stuck with it.
what their wedding dresses / suits / other look like: Jack is pretty dressed down, I doubt he even has a jacket and it’s probably not even in black. Like, dress pants, vest, dress shirt with sleeves rolled up and a navy blue tie? Jenny’s dress is more vintage looking with a lot of lace. Probably tea length, something like this. Also, I’m pretty convinced she’s barefoot because she was so scared she’d turn her ankle walking in heels in the grass. She gets one of those pretty little foot things? I don’t know what they’re called, but they look like this?
what their wedding colour scheme is and what sort of decor they have: I don’t think they go for anything super strict or narrow for decor? I think it’s probably just sort of neutral colors and sort of a more rustic theme? Pennet banners, sunflowers, mason jars, burlap, those sorts of things.
what flowers are in the bouquet ( if applicable. bonus: what do the flowers mean? ): Baby’s breath, a little bit of greenery, and light pink peonies is what I’m imagining.
what their vows are ( eg poetry, traditional, improvised etc. ): I feel like they have some idea where they’re going, but they’re largely sort of improvised? To speak from the heart sort of idea. Also vows that are mentioned below that go with the handfasting and the Gaelic vows I linked.
if anyone’s late to the wedding: Race, almost. Just barely. He snuck in while Jenny was coming down the aisle and everyone was looking at her.
who’s in the bridal parties / groomsmen / other: Sarah is her maid of honor and I’m inclined to say David is Jack’s? His groomsmen are probably Race and other canon newsies? Jenny only has a few other bridesmaids
what their bridal party / groomsmen / other are wearing: Groomsmen are dressed the same as Jack, but instead of a vest, they’re wearing suspenders #sorrynotsorry. As for the ladies, they’re in knee length dresses in like a champagne pink? They’re more of a sheath dress with 3/4 sleeves? Also super lacy, like this. Matilda is obviously the flower girl and Jenny just gives her free reign on what kind of dress she gets, as long as it’s pink like the bridesmaids or ivory like her’s. Marco is the ringbearer and he’s basically a little back with a bowtie instead of a tie.
who gives speeches at the reception ( bonus: what do they say? recount a sweet memory or two between them? tell an embarrassing story? ): Davey gives a speech because he’s obligated as the best man. He most just teases Jack the whole time and the gist is that, “thank god you finally settled down.” But obviously done in a loving, brotherly way. Matilda and Marco give a little speech too, but I see Matilda doing most of the talking and Marco just standing next to her and nodding.
who catches the bouquet( s ): Sarah. Mostly because the party was so small.
what their wedding photos are like ( are they sweet, with the couple holding hands or kissing or ~gazing into each others eyes~? are they silly, with a snapshot of the ‘cake-smash’ moment? or are they artistic, with one of them facing the sunset or holding their bouquets? ): Combination of sweet and funny. Like, there’s a bunch of sweet, romantic ones where they have their foreheads resting against each other or he has her wrapped up in his arms. But they also have a bunch with the kiddos, so there’s some where they have like a superhero stance or Jack is holding Marco upside down. I think they also have some from the reception too, lots of them laughing together, like they’re the only people in the room, cake smash moment, and them dancing. I dunno. Combo of funny and sweet, which seems appropriate for their relationship.
what sort of food they have at the reception: Not sure. I want to say Mexican food because I need Manny involved in this relationship too? Or I could see them doing it potluck style? Like, everyone brings a dish so they don’t have to charge people per plate.
who cries first during the ceremony: Jenny is crying as she’s walking down the aisle, let’s be real.
how wild their reception gets ( who dances the best, who gets drunk first, etc. ): Not wild at all, really. They do have some friends there, like Jenny’s teacher friends and people Jack has made friends with at work, but his family is there, and so are Marco and Matilda, so things don’t get too wild. Jenny does get a little tipsy, but only because she’s a lightweight. Jack is a much better dancer during fast songs, but Jenny handles slow dancing much better. Still, they try to lead/help each other out depending on what’s playing.
what their rings are like: Okay, I’m real emotional about this, but I see this tying into the research Jenny did on Gaelic weddings? She liked the traditional looking wedding rings and the simplicity of them, compared to the other wedding rings she saw? And she liked the equity of them. So, I think they probably have simple claddagh rings, like this. I was also thinking about the engagement ring he gives her, and I’m figuring it’s also very simple and understated because he knew she wouldn’t want anything big and flashy. Something like this, maybe?
what sort of favours they have ( heart shaped sparklers, mini champagne bottles, personalised candy etc. ): They get little jars of honey because Jack thought it’d be funny. They probably have some personalized label that says something like, “I get to take my Honey home and so do you,” or some other terrible joke about her last name.
where they go for their honeymoon: We’ve discussed this, but like, a cabin in one of the national parks (I’m inclined to say in Colorado?) for a week. Just the two of them and they kind of just hang out in the quiet and rest and take hikes and it’s nice.
something memorable that happens during the party / ceremony ( do they run out of ice and someone goes to get it in full formal wear on foot, does anyone fall asleep in the middle of the party, etc. ): I don’t think anything super wild happens? Marco might fall asleep at the table because he’s little and he’s been up a long time. But other than that, it’s pretty mellow.
who officiates the ceremony: Just...a third grade teacher Jenny knows who got certified online? Because they don’t really have a religious leader to do it.
what song their first dance is to: THIS IS SO HARD FOR ME TO CHOOSE. “The Way You Look Tonight” by Frank Sinatra, maybe? Or “At Last” by Etta James? I feel like it’s probably something old school, though.
who gives who away as they walk down the aisle: Matilda gives away Jenny. Marco gives away Jack. At last, there is balance in the universe.

“Guards,” Jungkook yelled, “Secure the castle, and take Y/N and Jihan to our chambers. I want everyone questioned, and nobody leaves the castle.”
You stand up, “My ladies come too.”
Jihyo, Chaeyoung and Nayeon stand next to Dahyun, who look to you for their next instructions.
You give Dahyun Jihan, and walk to the front, “Jungkook what happened?”
He grabbed to side of your arms, “I’ll explain later, but right now, more than anything, you need to leave this room.” He kissed your forehead, holding you tight.
“Promise you’ll tell me what happened,” You say, “You can’t just tell me to leave a ball, having everyone threatened for questioning, and closing the castle doors?”
Jungkook cupped your face, “I-It’s, a death threat has been made against Jihan.”
You face dropped, “Our Jihan? Our son? I’ll kill him-“
“No you won’t,” Jungkook said, “This will be handled quietly, and quickly.”
You take a deep breath, kissing him quickly, “I’ll go.”
“Thank you.”
You quickly walked back to your throne, and picked up Jihan, rubbing his back, “Let’s go.”
To say you were mad was understatement.
“Someone threatened my son,” You said, tears rolling down your cheek as you sat with Jihan in your lap, “There was a head in the box, and said it Jihan was next.”
“A head?” Nayeon asked, checking your temperature, “You’re a bit hot, maybe you should lie down?”
You lied down, Jihan lying on your stomach. You trailed your hand down his back, his head lying perfectly on your chest, “I just don’t understand, what has he ever done to anyone? He’s a baby!”
Your ladies looked to you in sympathy, sitting down on the bed. “Jungkook will find out who did it,” Jihyo said, “He always does.”
“That’s not enough,” You say, sighing loudly, “I want to be involved. I want to be the one that swings the axe.”
“You don’t mean-“
“If I can kill the person who’s done this, I will,” You say, trying to stop the tears falling, “It’s treason. Threatening a member of the inner royal family is punishable by death.”
“Yes but only by an executioner,” Jihyo said, “You could get in trouble.”
You shrugged, “I’m the Queen. I have a license to kill.”
“Jungkook does,” Chaeyoung says, “Not you. But if done discreetly-“
“Y/N, talking about it isn’t a good idea.”
“Then let’s talk about something else,” You say, “The coronation, how was it from your perspective?”
Dahyun smiled, “Jihan did very well, not a sound from him, except for whining for you.”
You kissed the top of his head, “He’s an eomma’s boy. Always has been, always will be.” His tiny hands touched your cheek, patting it lightly a few times. You found it amusing, how he always needed to be touching you, much like his father.
“You looked beautiful,” Jihyo said, “The dress complimented you perfectly.”
You look down, realizing you were still wearing it, “I ought to get changed. Jihan will fall asleep on me soon, and I don’t fancy sleeping in this dress.”
You were helped out of your dress, Naeyeon taking Jihan to check up on him. She handed him back to you, as you lied back down, placing Jihan back on your chest.
“I miss your Appa,” You say, pouting, “Jihan-ie, when will he come back?”
Jihan giggled tiredly, clinging onto you tighter, “Eomma…”
“Someone needs to go to sleep,” You say, “He won’t sleep unless he’s seen both of us. He’s basically a copy of his father.”
The girls laughed, smiling as you made funny faces to amuse Jihan. He yawned, rubbing his eyes, before looking around the room, realizing that Jungkook wasn’t there.
His bottom lip began to quiver, and tears filled his eyes, “APPA!”
“Jihan-ie,” You cooed, “Don’t cry my darling, Appa will be here soon, and he’ll give you lots of cuddles to make up for not being here.”
You sat up, bringing your knees halfway to your chest, holding him to your chest. You could feel his tears sinking through your bed gown, as his choked sobs continue.
“Jihan-ie,” You said in a sing-song voice, “Eomma loves you, Appa loves you, and will be here soon.” You turn to Jihyo, with pleading eyes, “Can you please find out when he will be back?”
“When who will be back?”
“Appa?” Jihan said once he heard his father’s voice. You sighed in relief, “Girls, thank you, you can go. Jungkook, please take him.”
Your eyes meet Jungkook’s, and you can tell he was exhausted. You place Jihan in his crib, and wrap your arms around Jungkook’s waist. His chest jolts, as tears fall down his cheeks.
You unbutton his coat, taking it off and placing it on one of the small tables scattered across the room. He took off his shirt and pants, and you handed him his bed-wear. Once he had changed, he picked Jihan up, who was still crying, and lied down with him. You follow after, your eyes never leaving Jungkook’s.
“Jihan-ie,” Jungkook said, rocking him back and forth, “No one will ever hurt you, no matter how many letters, or heads they send me. Your Appa will fight any and everyone who threatens you and your Eomma. The person that has done this, will die.”
Jihan was back to normal, almost asleep, “Appa…”
Jungkook kissed your cheek, standing up and placing Jihan in his crib. He stroked his cheek, before hopping back in bed with you.
He pulled you towards him, bringing you into his lap, “I have to confess, the letter I got the other day, wasn’t a threat to me. It was the first of three letters, all threats against you and Jihan. This person knows that without you and Jihan, I am nothing.”
You looked to Jungkook with sad eyes, trailing your fingers across his jaw, “Why didn’t you tell me?”
He smiled sorrowfully, “I didn’t want you to freak out about the coronation, and the ball. You would have never gone through with it if you had known.”
You kissed him, slowly but surely, “Is that why there was more security?”
“Yes,” He says, “One letter said that he would attack at the coronation. I considered cancelling it, but then everyone would panic and it would be a disaster.”
“I’m sorry you had to hide it for so long,” You say, “But thank you, for keeping my mind at ease.”
He kissed you again, holding you close to him. When you pulled away, he rested his head against yours, “I almost lost you once, I can’t go through that again. I thought my life was over.”
“I love you, so much,” You say, connecting your lips again, “I will never leave you, not even Min Yoongi stood a chance against us.”
Jungkook nods slowly, before cupping your face and kissing you again.
The Privy Council meeting was intense. You wanted to leave Jihan with your ladies, but Jungkook had insisted that the two of you never leave his sight. You were sitting by his side, as he held Jihan, talking about the new security detail he wanted set in place.
You stayed silent, Jungkook’s hand in your lap, as you drew random shapes on it. He was scared, scared to lose you again, but not just you this time. For if the two of you were to lose your innocent, precious child, you would both be broken.
“Anyone unimportant will be forced to leave the castle,” Jungkook says, his Councilmen nodding in agreement, “You will all stay here, but your families should leave. We will also be cancelling any balls and events. I won’t have my families lives compromised.”
“Of course not, your majesty,” Yixing says, “All the staff and guards are being questioned currently.”
“Good,” Jungkook said, “Guards are coming from Park. They will be taking over the castle guard positions, whilst our guards patrol the kingdom.”
“Park guards? What use are they?”
Jungkook raised his eyebrows, looking down at Jihan, “Keep in mind that my wife and son are both part of the Park lineage. My son is currently third in line to the Park Crown, but we have no intention of putting him there.”
“My apologies-“
“The Park guards are familiar with the Royal Family, but not the Kingdom. Our guards know the Kingdom, and our people would be more at ease seeing their own guards protecting them.”
“Yes, your Majesty.”
You lean over to Jungkook, whispering in his ear, “What about the council handling the minor things from now on.”
Jungkook tucked a piece your hair behind your ear, “Yes. My Queen and I have decided that the council will work on the minor problems. We are only to be bothered if it is paperwork or a major issue.”
“Of course,” Lord Chanyeol said, “We would be happy to do it. The last group of members barely did anything, except drinking and whoring around.”
“Not in front of the baby,” You say, “He is slowly picking up words and if that is one them I willhave your head on a plate.”
Chanyeols eyes widened, “My apologies, your Majesty.”
You pout and turn to Jungkook, “Jungkook, how much longer do we have to be in this meeting for?”
“You’re starting to sound like a child,” He says, lightly placing two fingers under your chin, bringing your face closer to him, “Good thing you aren’t one.” He pressed his lips to yours, and you leaned into it, quickly breaking away when you realized you were still in the meeting.
You sunk back into your chair, glancing at Jungkook, before catching Jihan’s gaze on your ring. You smiled and handed the piece of jewelry to him. He giggled as he held it up to the light, captivated by the colours.
“Is that all?” Jungkook asks, standing up with Jihan in his arms. You follow him, brushing your hand through his hair, “Please send the paperwork to our rooms, it will be done promptly.”
Everyone stood up, bowing to you as you finally left the room, clinging onto Jungkook’s arm.
“Why didn’t you tell me the Park guards were coming?” You say, “I mean, it’s not that important but they’re my people and I would’ve liked to know.”
“I’m sorry love,” Jungkook says, “It slipped from my mind.”
“It doesn’t matter,” You say, taking your ring back from Jihan before he dropped it, “It will be nice for Jihan to see the other side of our family.”
“Maybe we should plan a trip to Park once all this is over,” Jungkook says, wrapping his arm around your waist, “And then to Jung. Jihan needs to know his family.”
“Our family will have four sovereigns one day,” You say, “Queen Sunmi of Park, King Ilyong of Kwon, King Chaeran of Jung, and King Jihan of Jeon.”
Jungkook smiled, “Our family has done well.”
“Extremely well,” you say, “Jihyun and Jina haven’t married yet. I mean, they are eight.”
Jungkook kissed your head, “I wouldn’t have minded marrying you when I was eight.”
You widened your eyes in alarm, “I would have been six!”
Jungkook’s smile dropped, “Please ignore that I said that.” You reached your bedroom, and you threw yourself on the bed, “You’re obviously tired.”
“I’m stressed,” You say, “If we didn’t have to have Jihan with us all the time, I would probably ask you to help me get rid of it.”
Jungkook placed Jihan on the bed next to you, “I would be more than willing-“
He pressed his lips to yours, hovering over you, before falling beside you, pulling you into a spooning position. Jihan sat up, happily swaying from side to side. He caught your eye, and flopped onto his tummy, dragging himself towards you. You reached out and caressed his cheek, and he grabbed onto your finger, bringing it to his mouth.
“I want the person that threatened him dead,” You whisper, sinking into Jungkook’s embrace.
Jungkook pressed a kiss to your shoulder, “They threatened you too, love. I want him dead just as much as you.”
“I don’t care about me, only Jihan,” You say, “If I died, I would be happy knowing you two are safe.”
Jungkook quickly cut you off, “Don’t say that!”
“Sorry.”
You stayed like that for a while longer, before standing up, “We need a plan, Jungkook. We’re not going to find this person with guards-“
“I am not letting you go out and find this person,” Jungkook said, standing up and taking your hands, “You’re the Queen, you’re Jihan’s mother. Most of all, you’re my wife. My soulmate. I can’t- I won’t live without you. This person wants you two dead. I’m not risking that.”
You look to the ground, leaning into Jungkook’s chest, “Okay.”
The door opened, and two guards entered, “Your paperwork, your Majesties.”
Jungkook groans, and you sit back on the bed next to Jihan, “Leave it on the desk.”
The guards leave as they do as they’re told. You place Jihan in his crib, as you and Jungkook sit at the desk.
“I’ll do half and you do half?”
“Yep.”
“Jihan-ie! Look what Eomma has!”
“Eomma?”
“I have letters from my brothers,” You say, handing him the envelopes, “One from Jongdae, one from Samuel, and one from Jimin!”
“Muel-ah?”
“Yes, Uncle Samuel,” You say, tickling his tummy, “Do you want to hear what they have to say?”
Jihan nodded his head, and you excitedly opened the one from Jongdae.
“My dearest sister, and baby Jihan. I have the most wonderful news! Mina has given birth to our first child! A beautiful baby girl, Park Seola,” You read out, “Jihan-ie, you have a new cousin! Seola is doing well, and Mina and I have never been happier. We will come and visit in a few months, so please wait for our arrival. Your Brother, Jongdae.”
Jihan clapped, giggling and taking the letter from you and pretending to read it, whilst you opened the next letter.
“My sister and nephew. Mother has finally allowed Somi and I to marry. We are very excited, and are having it in a few months. Maybe we could have a family reunion. I am very much looking forward to seeing Jihan again, it seems it has been so long since his christening. I hope you are well, Samuel.”
Jihan took the second letter, “Muel-ah!”
“Jihan, you’re so clever,” you say, taking the first letter back from him and opening the last letter. You hold up the last letter, “Jihan-ie, this is the royal stamp of Park. I am a Park, and so are you.”
“Park,” Jihan says, emphasis on the K. You brushed your hand through his hair, caressing his cheek.
“You’re so smart Jihan-ie,” you say, “Y/N. I am so sorry to hear about the problems in Jeon right now. I wish that there was a way I could help more. I promise you that Jihan will be safe in Park. We have lots of fun events planned right now for Sunmi, so he will be able to join in with those. Looking forward to see him soon, Jimin.”
Your eyes widened, and you picked Jihan up, quickly going to Jungkook in the throne room.
“Jeon Jungkook!”
Jungkook stood up, fear in his eyes, “Y-Y/N?”
You handed him Jimin’s letter, “You’re sending Jihan away?”
Jungkook gulped, “I was going to tell you-“
“Tell me what? That you made a decision about our son without me,” You say, your voice like venom, “He’s not going. I grew him, I carried him for nine months. I went through 21 hours of labor to have him. I still feed him from my breasts. You are not taking my son away from me.”
Jungkook looked defeated, “It’s for his safety. They won’t know that he’s gone, so if they come here, nothing can happen to him.”
“He’s safe with me!” You shout, Jihan starting to cry, “I’m his mother! I would die for him! Nothing will ever happen to him!” Your tears were falling at this point, and your legs gave way, falling to the ground, still able to keep Jihan from harm, “You can’t take him away from me!”
“Y/N...” He said, walking towards you, “Please, it’s for his safety-“
You placed Jihan in your lap, who was screaming and crying, scared by you crying, “If he goes I go.”
“Y/N!” Jungkook said, his voice firm, “Jihan is going to Park. If you go, they will find out, and you’ll both be dead.”
You cried out in defeat, holding Jihan close to you. Jungkook ran to you, pulling you close to him. He rocked you back and forth, kissing your hair, “He’ll be okay. It will be safer for him. We can fix this whilst making sure no one gets hurt. No one.”
“I’m hurt!” You cried, “M-my baby has to leave!”
“I promise, as soon as this is over, he can come back. Dahyun is going with him. I don’t want to do this either, but we have to.”
You clung to his shirt, Dahyun quickly taking Jihan from you. Your tears soaked his coat, his hands rubbing your back soothingly.
“When is he leaving?”
Jungkook froze, “Tonight. At midnight.”
You let out another choked sob, holding onto Jungkook with all your strength, your cries echoing through the castle.
Midnight had come. You were dressed in black, along with Jungkook, Jihan, and Dahyun. You held your son close to your chest, as you walked out of the castle to the awaiting carriage.
“You must show him our painting every day, and make sure he says our names,” You say, Dahyun listening intently, “Anything he wants, he gets. He’s the future King of Jeon, he must be treated like one. A-and if he cries, try to sing Jungkook’s song to him.”
Jungkook pulled you into his chest, kissing Jihan’s forehead, “I’m so sorry my son. We are doing this to protect you, but it hurts so much.”
Your tears started to fall again, as you tried to hold it in, not wanting to worry Jihan, “Jungkook, please let him stay. Everything will be fine-“
“Y/N,” Jungkook looked to you with pleading eyes, “We have to let him go.”
Dahyun curtsied, “I’ll let you say your goodbyes. I’ll write everyday Y/N, do not worry.”
You smiled weakly at Daehyun, “Yes, thank you. Please enjoy your time in Park.”
Dahyun got into the carriage, and you braced yourself to leave Jihan.
“My baby boy,” you whisper, rocking him lightly, “I love you so so much, more than I ever thought was possible. Eomma will be thinking of you every second. Please be a good boy for Dahyun, and Uncle Jimin. Grandma will be watching over you mostly, so be a good boy for her too. And don’t grow up too much, just stay little.”
You took off your ring, looping it on a golden chain, and placed it around Jihan, “Now you’ll have a piece of me wherever you go, my darling.”
Jungkook came closer to you, taking Jihan from you. He whispered something to him quietly, not loud enough to be heard.
When he had finished, he gave him to Dahyun, who was waiting in the carriage.
“Eomma loves you Jihan,” You say, as the door closes. The carriage starts to move, and you can feel your body give way, falling into Jungkook’s arms seconds away from hitting the ground.
“I-I’m so sorry,” Jungkook says, “But I can’t lose him, or you.”
He picks you up bridal style, and you cry into his shirt, feeling the material become soaking wet underneath your fingers.
He carried you back to your room, getting you changed and into bed. You lay there emotionless, not feeling Jungkook pull you onto his chest.
“I’m sorry,” he whispered, holding you tight, “We will see him again soon, I promise.”
You let out a shaky breath, “Find whoever is doing this, and kill them.”

A/N: I am so so sorry that this too soo long to come out, I wanted to post it like 3 days ago. I am thinking this one will be pretty long but I am not sure yet.
Word Count: 1869
Genre: Angst, fluff, mystery
Member: Someone from BTS
Summary: Every morning when you get to work, there is a new message on your white board. The real question is: Who is writing on your whiteboard?
Warnings: Language
Chapter 1 Chapter 3 Chapter 4 (coming soon)
Throughout the next week, every morning there is a new encouraging message written on the board. As nice as they are, they completely weird you out. One of Yoongi’s friends is deadass breaking into your office every night to write encouraging messages to you on your whiteboard. It’s sweet, but weird, and you're really curious to know who it is.
Today, you're working late. You don't have solid hours implemented but you tend to work late into the night. Your phone rings bedside you and you answer it, your fingers halting on the keys of your keyboard. Bringing the phone to your ear, you say hello.
“Where are you? I thought you were coming home early,” Yoongi says on the other end.
“I am so close to being finished with this book, just about 50 pages left,” you say.
“Sure, Y/N, whatever you say,” Yoongi singsongs. “Just come home soon. I have pizza and a horror movie,” He says.
“Sounds like a plan. I'll be home in about an hour,” you reply.
“See you soon,” Yoongi says, hanging up. You place your phone down and stretch, cracking your back accidentally. You look up as Hoseok walks into your office, locks eyes with you and jumps.
“Jesus! You scared me!” He exclaims. You laugh. Hoseok always brought your mood up with his stunning smile.
“Sorry,” you apologize, “What were you doing in my office without thinking I was in here anyways?” You ask, slightly suspicious. He shrugs.
“Jungkookie forgot his coat. I was working late anyways and he asked me to get it,” He explains. You look over at Jungkook’s desk and sure enough, his coat is hanging over the chair.
“I see. Hoseok, are you the one writing on my board?” You ask, flicking your head in the direction of the whiteboard in question.
He looks confused and then says, “Sorry, no. Is someone bothering you and writing on your board?” You shake your head.
“They knew I broke up with my boyfriend and Yoongi only told you, Jimin, Jungkook, Taehyung, Namjoon and Seokjin,” You explain.
“Yeah, I would like to say it’s me but it’s not. How are you doing with your breakup?” He asks, sitting on the corner of your desk.
“I'm fine. He cheated on me so he's obviously not worth the hassle. I'm glad I saw his true colours before we got any more serious,” you reply.
“You should be proud of yourself, he didn't deserve to have someone as great as you. Don't worry Y/N, you'll find the perfect guy for you, you're beautiful, kind and you are a very successful person, he'll come along. Just be patient,” Hoseok says, putting his warm hand on your cold one.
“Thank you, Hoseok,” you reply, smiling at him. He smiles in return and stands up, grabbing Jungkook’s jacket and walks towards the door. Right before he leaves, he turns.
“Don't stay too late,” He says. You nod and smile, waving goodbye at him. He waves back, leaving you alone again. It was nice to actually talk to him. You proceed to edit the novel you got assigned. About 40 pages later, you get startled by a voice at your doorway.
“Y/N. You're here late,” The voice says. You jump, your desk chair rolling backwards. You see Seokjin standing at your door. You stand up and bow.
“Ah, sorry. You really startled me,” you apologize.
“Mind if I come in?” He asks, offering you a kind smile. You smile.
“Of course,” you say. He is more careful than Hoseok around you and takes a seat in the chair on the other side of your desk. You sit back in your chair, rolling closer to the desk.
“You're working really hard lately. I am really appreciative of that. I just wanted you to know that your efforts are not going unnoticed. I have put in a good word about you to Namjoon. Thank you a lot for being such a good worker because you make my job easy having everything done days before the deadline. You're also doing an amazing job with Jungkook, he came to my office the other day to tell me he really appreciated how patient and kind you are with him,” He says. Your jaw drops, your boss, is complimenting you?
“Thank you so much for saying all of that,” you reply, bowing in your chair.
“No thank you, not many people here are willing to work as hard as you do,” he says. You smile widely at your boss. “I know a lot of people gossip about you sleeping with me and Namjoon to get promotions and raises. Namjoon is going to take care of it,” He says.
“You don't have to trouble yourself. They'll be the sorry ones when they don't have a job,” you say and then continue, “If they have nothing better to do than gossip, I can't help but wonder how much work they have piling up on their desks.”
“Too much,” he replies, leaning back in his chair. “When did you know you wanted to be an editor?” He asks you abruptly.
“Well, I didn't know for long. I was going to go to Medical School and try to become a Doctor but my English teacher urged me to go into English at University and I fell in love with it. I am happy I made the choices I did that led me here,” You answer.
“How did you meet Yoongi?” He asks.
“Didn't Yoongi ever tell you?” You counter. He shakes his head.
“None of us have ever asked,” he admits.
“Yoongi and I were neighbors as kids. Our parents were all very close and naturally we grew up together. At first I didn't like him much, we went to the same school and he hung around the popular kids so I was leery of him because I thought he was an asshole. We became very close when one of his stupid friends started making fun of me. Yoongi came over, stood between us and cussed his friend out, even though both of us were barely 8 years old. The other boy ran away and Yoongi looked at me and said “Keep your head up and don't let them see you cry”. Ever since that moment, the two of us were inseparable. Yoongi ditched the popular crowd and that was it, we have had each other's back since we were barely 8 years old,” You explain, smiling at the fond memories. Seokjin smiles softly.
“You two have a really beautiful friendship. He cares for you a lot,” He says.
“I care a lot for him too. He is closer than family to me and I don't know what I would do without him,” You reply honestly.
“I am officially kicking you out,” he says, standing up.
“What?” You ask. He walks around to your side of the desk, saves your work and shuts your computer off. He pulls you up. “Mr. Kim what-”
“Please, call me Jin,” he says. You laugh and little. “Come on, Yoongi called me before I came here telling me to tell you to get your ass home. I'm on my way home anyways so we can walk to our cars together,” he says. You smile and grab your bag and coat, walking alongside Jin.
“See you tomorrow, Jinie! Sleep well Y/N-ie!” Taehyung yells at you as he's dusting a computer monitor.
“See you tomorrow Tae!” Jin yells back and you wave. Jin and you get into the elevator and ride it down to the main floor.
“Thanks for kicking me out,” you say sincerely. “I probably would've stayed well after 2 a.m. because I'm off tomorrow.”
“You don't have to be done editing that until next week, you know that, right?” He asks.
“Yep. I would just rather get it done soon and be able to start on something new,” You reply as you two walk out of the building.
“In all my years I've never actually met someone like you who's so willing to work unnecessarily hard,” He says. You smile, thanking him for the compliment. You get to your car and turn around to look at Jin.
“Thanks for walking with me,” you say. He smiles.
“My pleasure,” he says. He pulls you into a hug and it surprises you a lot. “If you ever need anything when you're at work or if someone is causing you trouble, just come to me and I'll do whatever you need,” he says. He lets you go and looks into your eyes honestly. “Your boyfriend doesn't know what he lost by cheating on you,” he says, letting you go and stepping back. “Have a good night, Y/N.”
“Y-you too, Jin,” you say. He smiles at the nickname and walks off towards his car. He just hugged you. He just hugged you! You get into your car, leaning against your chair. What a weird day, first Hoseok and then Jin?
Shaking off your confusing thoughts, you drive to your apartment complex, getting into the elevator and pressing the corresponding floor. When you get off, you walk to your apartment, opening the door and being met with Yoongi’s eyes.
“Finally! I thought I was going to die of old age before you showed up!” He yells dramatically.
“Oh shut up,” you say playfully and kick off your fancy work shoes, massaging your shoulder and throwing your coat and bag on the bench at the front door. You run to your room quickly, changing out of your uncomfortable work clothes and into a t shirt and sweats. You walk into the living room and grab pizza and flop on the couch next to Yoongi.
“Hey!” He exclaims. You look at him, waiting for him to go on. You put your feet up, across Yoongi’s lap and lean back. “Tomorrow we're all going to Namjoon and Jin’s house to have a party. Want to come?” He asks.
“Namjoon and Jin live together?” You ask. He laughs.
“That's your only question?” He asks. You nod.
“Yes. I'll come though,” you say reluctantly.
“Thank you! You'll have lots of fun, don't worry,” He says. You roll your eyes playfully.
“Yeah, yeah, whatever you say. Now answer my question,” you say.
“Yeah, they went to school together and they live together,” he says. “Taehyung and Jungkook live together.”
“What about Hoseok and Jimin?” You ask.
“Hoseok lives with his sister and Jimin lives with a random guy that none of us know,” he says. “Hoseok’s sister is coming to the party tomorrow, she's really sweet and she's excited to meet you,” he says. Nerves bubble up in your stomach and suddenly you're very nervous.
“Who else will be there?” You ask.
“No one,” he says. “Just the seven of us, you and Hobi’s sister.”
“Okay,” You reply. Yoongi wraps an arm around your waist.
“Don't be scared, you'll be okay,” he says. You nod and snuggle into his side.
“Thanks for being here for me,” you say. He smiles down at you.
“Don't thank me for that, I'm happy to do whatever I can for you,” he says. “You do the same for me.”
