I still to this day do NOT understand how people defend Hanako in this scene.

Honestly just this entire scene I found SUPER disturbing and I don't understand how anything defends this...

Everyone's argument is "oh but he loves Nene" or "he's just misunderstood"

Like- tf is there to misunderstand in this??

He tells Nene straight to her face that Aoi died and he DOESN'T CARE.

Nene even felt LIED to bc she thought Hanako and her were meant to be saving Aoi.

And before people say "Hanako didn't sacrifice Aoi!"

Yes that's true but he DELIBERATELY didn't do anything to prevent it and even let it happen on purpose bc it was convenient for him.

Both Hanako AND even the summery of volume 15 paint the picture of Hanako finding this CONVENIENT.

It's his literal JOB to intervene with stuff like this and he doesn't do it bc of his desperation to "fix" Nene's life span-

Even tho it was Nene's BEST FRIEND he didn't care...

But the thing is, is that Hanako does care but he ONLY cares about Nene and even so much so to the expense of even her loved ones

He even shows exactly what he told us in the beginning here...

He's says he "granted your wish" but Nene says it wasn't what she meant...

But it seems really similar almost like exactly what he told us in the beginning?

"You have to pay a suitable price."

Nothing good comes from supernaturals and to date even now NOTHING good has come from the living interacting with the supernatural.

This scene for me just proves what Teru's been trying to tell us..."there's no such thing as a "good supernatural".

Dude todays TBHK chapter was really something

First off I feel so bad for Teru I know I haven’t really expressed it before but as an older sibling I can’t imagine the amount of pain he’s going through right now. And the fact that his mask is nearly fully broken in this chapter. The anger he shows isn’t masked behind pretty smiles anymore. He’s furious and he’s showing it. I think he’s also scared, like he’s been scared before but he doesn’t show it but now, now the worst has happened. He literally pushed Akane out of the way to protect him because he can’t lose anybody else. Dude

Also Amane smiling as he says that he “forgot” that he killed Kou… that was such a punch to the gut like I also wanted him dead

But on a brighter note AOI!!! Coming in clutch with the sword. I saw so happy for her. I hope she gets to kick some supernatural ass in the next chapters like she was killing it this chapter and I’m so happy for her.

Also the confirmation that Mitsuba was also in the well. Man at least they died together …. Maybe…. Does that make it any better…. Probably not. I’m also glad that there was only 1 shot of the well. Like I prefer that we don’t know the extent of what happened to Kou and the others. It really keeps the horror aspect because I’m sure I can imagine something far worse that what can be drawn. But also the well shot we did get was pretty bad like all those people down there… horrible

But yeah overall, good chapter way WAY better than last month. This time I felt a fleeting moment of serotonin instead of cold hard dread the whole time. But man this series really loves rippig hearts out.

it’s kinda crazy how irrelevant mizuki is to most of rui’s arc and everything when she’s literally his closest connection outside of wxs and is someone who understands and likes him as something more or less akin to a friend with an auxiliary at best connection to shows. like. i mean i guess it’s Because she’s auxiliary at best to shows that she isn’t particularly involved, but like. what do you mean rui 90% shows by weight kamishiro’s closest relationship outside wxs is someone who understands him explicitly outside the context of shows. that’s interesting? what does that mean to him? does that contribute to the fundamental distance between them, or the inexplicable closeness? both, contradictorily? what does mizuki mean to him outside of what he means to her…? anyway this is why cheer squad is peak, mizuki’s narrative positioning as a “sorcerer who can break the spell that’s got a hold over rui” and also “someone rui trusts” as set up by luka is craaazy. i want to hear it in rui’s words though….
