Maxiel: makes sense, compels the FUCK out of me

I genuinely don’t think there’s been a ship that has compelled me like Maxiel. They make me so insane and I’ve spent the last 8 months of my life going up and down all 200ish AO3 pages in the tag like some kind of deranged possum, searching for more Maxiel content. They just make so much sense in my mind. You have Max, who has been taught his entire life that his only purpose in life is to win races, who is this angry, strung up little kid when he first joins F1…and then he meets Daniel, who is so kind and charismatic and has always been taught to enjoy the moment and the process of it all and just treats him with so much love even when he’s not winning or when he’s getting criticized by the media…and Max finally learns how to enjoy life outside of racing for the first time. Even outside of the general RPF scene of it all, the absolute pivotal Maxiel moments are so important and have so much significance in the grand scheme of the sport. Daniel leaving Red Bull because of Max (to an extent) which then caused a ripple effect on a whole bunch of people’s careers and ultimately led to the Horrors that we are currently living through, but at the end of the day, it’s about “If it can’t be me, I’m glad it’s him” and that fastest lap into “Thank you, Daniel.” Yeah, I could talk about them for DAYS if given the chance.

Galex: makes sense, compels me

They’re everythingggg to me. I love the childhood friends to lovers thing they have going on. The Galex lore is so interesting, like the throat infection incident, the collarbone biking accident, the whole thing about George being Alex’s hype man/personal photographer as a kid… underrated ship fr. They have the best chemistry and their sense of humour actually work so well together, and I NEED more content from them. I also CANNOT ship either of them with anyone else because it just does! Not! Work! In my head. They are each other’s ride or die and I love that for them.

Scaniel: makes sense, does not compel me

I love their friendship a lot and I think they have so much weird gay energy between them, but unfortunately my day one Daniel ship is still Maxiel. I think Scaniel has potential for growth, but unfortunately they do kinda give off besties to me. I will admit they have had some good, shippable moments, but Scotty just feels like a straight man in my mind. I think it’s just the DR effect (every man within a 5 mile radius falls in love with him) that drives this ship forward tbh.

Brocedes: makes sense, compels me A LOT

THIS is THE SHIP of all ships. The lore goes so hard and it’s so devastating to me. I’m a sucker for a good childhood friends to lovers to enemies storyline, so they are right up my alley. It’s just the most insane story that when I tried explaining it to my casual F1 fan friend, they asked me if it was from a movie and I was like NO! This is irl!!! The way that they have a 6 hour, 3 part YouTube docuseries about their relationship is crazy. No other ship has as much angst as them, and no one will ever come close to being them. It’s the way that they fundamentally are a part of each other’s careers and that you cannot mention one without the other, it’s the way that Nico talks about that era of his life and how he could only stomach their childhood favourite cereal on the weekend before cinching the championship, how he ruined his body and soul to beat Lewis and how his retirement changed Lewis’ whole outlook on the sport!!! And through it all, there is an awkward third-wheel in the form of either Daniel Ricciardo or Sebastian Vettel just smiling through the most disgusting vibes a room could ever have, which, in my opinion, adds to the whole drama of the ship. This ship has so much narrative and character and it is so so devastating to think about, I need to see or make a Brocedes movie before I die.

Alright alright alright! Stream of thoughts part two electric boogaloo. Ep 4’s ending was living rent free in my head all this week so we’ll see how this one goes!

the top is a lonely place by default i think, and with the b/w thinking especially like you're either a winner or you're a loser. and the winner has power. obviously both ume and choji (and sakura) knew that

choji wanted to reach the top to be the most freest version of himself that he could, whereas ume wanted to be the top to make his vision for his town a reality (to put it crudely). and not even to bash on choji like wah wah he's selfish he only thought about himself. not even. choji liked the idea of freedom because it was fun, it was what made him and the rest of shishitoren smile, right? you can't smile if you're not free. and freedom comes with power (and strength). but because of this thinking, choji shackled himself, holding himself back. he viewed it as a race, something with a start and a finish. starting is easy, but what about finishing? obviously at the finish line, you achieve some tangible prize, a trophy of some sort. but what is the goal? (freedom) what was the end prize? (fun) because of this, he created this ideal that could never be attained. why? because he thought freedom was something he could see and hold on his own. his (empty) treasure chest at the top of the hill because he misunderstood what freedom meant. he opened that box on his own, there was no one else there because he left everyone else behind. so now we've circled back to what kotoha told sakura, 'you can't reach the top because you're alone.' choji was alone, he pushed everyone away unintentionally i think because he had this primitive desire to win. (i'm being so fr, in my head when i was at that scene i was thinking 'it was the friends and memories you collected along the way' when he saw that it was empty)

similarly, i think sakura also has (had?) this pyramid sort of thinking. 'i need to reach the top to prove myself to others.' he found value in himself by looking down at those who looked down on him, right?

and ume took this as an opportunity to teach the both of them that the top isn't meant to be beared alone because they were both trying to go about it on their own. ume reminded choji of his friends in shishitoren, how much fun they had when they did things together. how great it was to be able to share things (like when ume says he loves food but he loves food most when he's able to share it with friends). it was already familiar to choji (and togame) which is why it was so easy for them to see the error of their ways. and then ume also showed sakura why you needed friends. being alone puts you in a scary place. it shrivels you up and leaves you barren. you don't even recognize that you're cold until you're shown warmth.

hence choji's "so hot..." when ume's hands are on his cheeks because he was cold for so long that simple warmth was hot to him (atsui vs atatakai, sorry for the horrible romanization ;-;) i think

and sakura, like ume said, is a good person. he was just brought about in a really unfortunate way. if sakura had what choji had, sakura would've understood too. but he doesn't really. he views anyone and everyone as enemies, opponents he needs to beat (his first instinct when he meets new people is to raise his fists). i also saw some manga panels about how he learns to open up and accept others instead as allies and friends and :,)

i forgot what else i wanted to say about this but i'm starting to sound pretty stupid so let me stop there lol

but the ume/choji/sakura dynamic is so precious to me

and then togame sun worshipper jo. the man that you are. the mask he puts on to pretend like he's the bad guy, letting his hands become dirty as he 'skins' his fellow members, acting like it doesn't hurt when it must have hurt so so bad. his pained expression as he beats them to an even messier pulp, pulling their jackets off of them. tell me how that togame is the same togame as the one who's desperately trying to fix the glass, to keep the memories of his shishitoren. 'keep smiling for the others' he tells choji, 'keep smiling' so that everything i'll do for you from here on out will be worth it. choji's eyes are dark and empty and togame of all people knew that. togame's eyes don't have light either, but that's hidden behind his sunglasses.

EL WAS EVERYTHINGGGG her arc with her "papa" was amazing!!! the one/vecna reveal was amazing!!! her relationship with mike is stupid tbh but i'm glad they didn't let that drag her down!! i'm so happy she found some closure with 'papa" as well. fuck that guy he died in a very satisfying way though so i'm glad that happened. please let mike and el breakup, their relationship is a DUMPSTER FIREEEE. i just want someone to slap mike, honestly!!! slap some sense into him!! maybe will?? mike is not much of a "heart" to me though, it felt very forced. if anyone is the heart this season it's my boy will, and lemme tell you that heart is BLEEDING OUT!!

I wanted things to work out with Jancy!! i feel like at this point the writers are ruining it on purpose.....i kinda proud of Jonathan this season after he had that talk with Will!! I really wanted that and i got it, so that's been nice.

i don't understand the stancy angle at all like idk the dynamic is cute but for what? how will this help either of their characters grow. if you needed something for steve to do, you could have given him a bond with eddie!! now we just have this stupid love triangle and a DEAD eddie instead??? just admit you don't know what to do with steve and go. nancy as well, like honestly who CARES about who she's dating?????? why do they even bother my god.

Scott Tenorman Must Die and The Wacky Molestation Adventure

★ Do I like this episode? Why or why not?

I do! It's a very good episode, and very funny despite being such a dark concept. It (obviously) marked a serious turning point for Cartman's character; pre-stmd Cartman and post-stmd Cartman are two entirely different entities. It's revolutionary tbh. It's so interesting to see the balance between childish, naive Cartman and cruel, wicked Cartman throughout and as his cruelness wins out. I also really love Scott's character because duh, he's great

★ Favorite moment?

Cartman gathering the kids to discuss his revenge and Clyde's like "... who is Scott Tenorman???" and then they just leave lmaooo

★ Least favorite moment?

Honestly, when Scott realizes what just happened to him, and he starts to break down. I genuinely feel so awful for him :(

★ Do I have an unpopular opinion about this episode? What is it?

Sometimes, I think this episode can be a little over-hyped, which I think is kinda unpopular? But I also understand why it's such a beloved episode. It really is iconic and I really do like it a lot so I can't really complain lol

I don't think I'd change anything tbh! This episode is terrible, but in a good way, and it changed Cartman's character forever. It's honestly perfect as it is

YES I love this episode!! I honestly feel awful for the adults in town lol but the episode is so great. The kids running absolutely wild and slowly locking up the entire goddamn town, the kids falling into Lord of the Flies territory after like a week lmao, Butters fully wanting to be sacrificed to John Elway, Mark and Linda just trying to get to Denny's... it's got everythingggg

"If I had one wish it'd be for Cuba to changeeeee" ugh I love it. The Year Without A Santa Claus is my favorite Christmas movie so this scene is very very very important to me

When the parents all come home and Stuart and Carol are looking for Kenny :((( it's so cruel

I’ve had a very busy day with real world things and so I played Kotor a good bit but while I was out and now that I’m home I might not remember everythingggg but ima try

So I’m competing against other Sith prospects in the academy BUT the main Sith lady who’s name escapes me gave me a proposition. She wants to help me win the contest so I can be enducted into the Sith in these ancient tombs that holds the star map! In exchange she wants me to kill her Sith superior so she can take charge and honestly, sure I’ll go along with this plan for now at least cause I need that lady star map!

I also finally found Carth’s son and BOY did this reunion not go well! He says Carth abandon him and his mom, even before their planet got bombed since he was always off at war and stuff! I tried convincing him the Sith are evil but he wasn’t going for that and needed proof? So I’m currently looking for said proof but honestly I think the most damning thing is the dueling room has literal prisoners that the Sith fight and kill and they apparently get shipments of these poor human punching bags monthly? But that wasn’t proof apparently! I also tried to duel all of the other competitors but none of them would, they scared!

No one on this planet believes I’m Darth Malek either and it’s bullshit man

I also met this Sith prospect who was nice and nervous and was questioning if the dark side was right for me, he seems way to nice for the dark side so instead of pointing him to the Jedi I just said maybe the Sith isn’t right for him and for him to leave and pursue other things and he did!

I then learned the Sith code and got some brownie points, honestly it’s weird I keep running into Sith things that make me think “oh maybe they aren’t so bad” and then they say some blatantly evil shit, so yeah despite the Jedi being kind of assholes and thinking they’re better than everyone the Sith are still way worst

Lastly, after failing speech checks for the other recruits to work with me I explored the valley, apparently if I find historical artifacts that can allow me to win the competition and there’s 4 tombs I can explore! There was a scientist outside of one who was the nicest Sith I’ve ever met, he told me this tomb was so old they don’t have records of it but it was one of the first Sith forte and inside I may find a special sword that belonged to one of the first Sith Lords I think I’ll start there and try to explore the other 3 tombs after and get all the artifactsssss

I’m getting a clearer picture of the Jedi and the Sith and the Star Wars universe I think, more of that later when my thoughts fully form

It had all been going fine. 

Christina had been on FaceTime with Corbyn, doing her homework and half-heartedly supervising his attempt at making breakfast, when suddenly something started beeping urgently. 

“Uh,” Christina peered over at her phone, “Babe?” 

“Ah,” Corbyn coughed, “What did you say the oven was supposed to be on again?” 

“Three-seventy-five,” She set her pen down. 

“Right, right,” He nodded way too quickly. 

“You set it on four-seventy-five, didn’t you?” Christina could barely keep the fondness for him out of her voice, even when he was about to burn his apartment building down. 

He disappeared from the frame, the fire-alarm still going off, and a sudden suspicious cloud of grey appearing in the kitchen. 

“Cor?” Christina suddenly got more concerned. 

“I’m fine, it’s fine, everything is under control,” Corbyn answered, coughing between every word, setting a pan of bacon directly on the, thankfully, granite countertops, then sliding across the kitchen to push open the window, still wearing his oven mitts. 

“It really looks under control,” She laughed, watching the smoke dissipate and listening to the glorious sound of silence after the alarm stopped.

Corbyn, because he is helpless in the face of her perfect laugher, paused to smile at her on his screen. 

Then the siren started blaring again. 

“You forgot about the eggs,” Christina stated the obvious. 

Corbyn winced, spinning back to the oven and pulling his pan off the burner before shutting it off. He poked at the eggs inside gently with the spatula Christina bought months ago but he hadn’t picked up until this morning, “Charred is in, isn’t it?” He tried to spin it, “People order charred stuff in restaurants all the time.”

“Not eggs,” Christina bit her lip. 

Corbyn looked around the kitchen contemplating, “Would a raw bagel kill me?” 

“Don’t trust yourself with heat anymore, Besson?” Christina teased. 

“Just can’t wait to eat,” He bluffed. 

She shook her head, “No, raw bagels won’t hurt you.” 

“Good,” Corbyn pulled one from the package, loaded his blacken bacon and charred eggs on it, then slapped it down on a plate. He presented it to her over FaceTime with a flourish as if he’d just made Eggs Benedict from scratch instead of a burned breakfast bagel. 

“I don’t think you’re going to win Bake Off anytime soon,” Christina smirked, “That sandwich looks like some ass.” 

Corbyn laughed around her description, the way her accent shaped those words made him want to hear her ridicule all his kitchen attempts forever. His first bite caused another coughing fit, and Christina smiled in victory, “Told you.” 

Corbyn rolled his eyes, deciding to clean up before forcing more of his ‘food’ down, singing under his breath, “And I can’t cook, yeah, you will have to do everythingggg...” 

“You’re lucky you’re cute and I love you,” Christina picked her pen back up, resuming her assignment, but making plans in the margins for how best to stock his freezer next time she was in Los Angeles.

Corbyn just keep grinning, “Don’t I know it, babe. Don’t I know it.”
