I wanted to apologize again for the rant. I barely remember writing it (which is kinda terrifying). I saw your suggestion to breathe and I’m trying lol. But I saw that it angered a number of people in the notes and I wanted to reiterate:
-I try and fight by finding information that combats the vast array of misinformation and spread the correct information. I’m an anxiety ridden non confrontational person and people online tend to be five times more eloquent than me. So basically all I can do is “spread the word.” The more people see the whole picture, the better, right? With my own mental struggles, I’ll see some horrid information, try and find where it came from and how it spread. When it’s everywhere ( on so many news outlets) and I don’t know what to do, I freak out. The awful Congo rumors are an example. Given the government has pulled back on those words, the best thing to call them at this point are rumors, right?
It’s surreal where I am. I am well aware I’m privileged. I count my blessings, and I worry over those that don’t. (Every story and testimony I hear about the female hostages in particular make me feel helpless and sick to my stomach. So much talk about the crisis women in Gaza are facing, but nothing about the conditions of female hostages. You have to actively search to find out, and it’s usually independent sources spreading the word of what released hostages have said).
And all of the conflict where I am is online. In the outside world, off of the local college campus, (which I think I said. I apologize again, I think I wrote the previous message in a panic,) people are only interested in their coffee. I count myself lucky that I have yet to encounter real life anti semitic situations when I know they’re happening a few hours away from me in larger cities. I am in no financial/economical position to volunteer in Israel to help relocate and aid the displaced in the south, as it came to my attention that there are international volunteers going over. I found out about Stand Together, which I tend to look into. I heard it’s a good organization. And then there’s….Tzedaka? Idk. I just know there are some good Israeli based organizations that give aid, but I can’t remember their names. I’d recognize them if someone said them.
I’m astonished I wrote that much? So I’m going to have to step back. I at least know domestically, I can help by getting the right people elected and combat misinformation. Biden will at least give everyone the freedom to fight with words. Trump would take away freedom of the press and chop free speech in half first chance he gets. I wonder about Nikki Haley, but I’m skeptical she will win the primary.
I don’t understand a lot of what’s going on because I feel like I keep wandering through muck. but I try. When I don’t get what I’ll looking for through news sources, I ask here. It’s easy to tell when news is biased these days and what’s telling the whole story these days. I think I struggle to comprehend how small Israel is sometimes and the idea of everyone being out on the field. (And I understand it’s a privilege to struggle to comprehend such a thing, if that makes sense). I keep thinking there must be people at their homes to fight the government when the government is being stupid, like the protests that happened during COVID, while at the same time I read today about a 95 year old man volunteering to work in the IDF. I try and figure out what’s going on with the regular every day people in Israel, knowing there’s active IDF and volunteers helping the displaced and any Gazans fleeing (though I think the border at the moment is closed, I could be wrong). Is it like Ukraine where quite literally anyone that is physically and economically able to do something is doing something to help?
I read yesterday that a vote may be held? That makes me hopeful. But it’s rare to vote a prime minister or president out of office in the middle of war. And it came to my attention that Israeli politics are as divided as American politics are. I knew they were divided before the war began, as I knew about the two massive protests that happened. I didn’t realize /how/ divided they were until recently. It seems are just more lines drawn in the sand in Israel than there are in the States, and there are more factions and coalitions in Israel. And while there’s not as many lines drawn in the States, the existing lines run deep, and they’re getting vicious. I don’t know how bad the lines drawn are in Israel.
So uh yeah, to everyone, I’m sorry for any misunderstandings. I ramble more than I am eloquent. I’ll take my anxiety ridden butt offline for the moment. I’ll come back better. And thank you specifically for reminding me to breathe
The responses from Israelis on the original post are worth reading.
I didn't have the time or space to address every point of the first post and I still don't for this one, but I can say this much:
When someone is struggling with anxiety, it can leave them prone to doom-spirals even during "normal" levels of bad news. Right now for every Jew except the ~240,000 remaining Holocaust survivors, the news is worse than we've ever seen in our lives. We are all feeling overwhelmed and unsure how to help, how to chip in. If it has indeed reached the level of panic - which you described as severe enough to leave you with "missing" time / actions - it's okay to really take some time off from this, to get help. It's okay to set a literal timer on your phone for how much you engage - to give yourself one hour every other day, and stick to it. No one is helped by a person getting so deep into crisis that they can't function.
You mentioned the programs where people can travel to Israel to help keep farms operational and stuff care packages for displaced families - perhaps you yourself aren't in a position to do that, but could you instead try to encourage other people to do it? Can a local synagogue recommend a phone-banking effort?
The Congo stuff is not a "rumor" - it is "jerking off." Someone idly speculating / wishing to do something which they have neither power nor mechanism to do. It is significantly less real than the time Trump talked about buying Greenland; put it in that context.
Israel is a tiny country, with genocidal fascist militias parked on its northern and southern borders; the reason they can't just pull out of the West Bank is because if not properly managed it would immediately turn into another Gaza but bigger and on top of a mountain range with all of Israel's biggest cities at the bottom. The country is now forced to mobilize for self-defense in a way most Americans can't imagine; if my math is correct, about 4% of the entire population is on active duty within Gaza now, and they all left their families and day jobs behind.
Your prior post asked "can't sensible Israelis stop Netanyahu?" - they've been trying very hard and the outside world has no clue. There were massive protests and riots near-nonstop for a year, including a general strike that shut down the entire country - shut down the hotels and the airport! - that actually managed to get the judicial overhaul postponed. When it did come back, it was in a weaker form (still awful), and then the courts were able to erase the very worst of it and postpone other parts. As an American who has done my fair share of door-to-door canvassing, protesting, and """awareness-raising""", I wish American progressives and centrists had been that successful when it came to, say, the Iraq War, or gun control, or protecting Roe...
There is no imminent vote on the current government (there are municipal elections coming very soon, but those are less important). The next national election - the kind you're thinking of - is October 2026. Which is awful to think about and I sincerely hope the government collapses long before then, as Israeli governments have tended to do for the last 5-6 years.
In general, the most reliable news sources are TOI and Ynetnews, and I listed some good resources here.
I hope this was somewhat helpful and that you are able to reach a better place while still finding a way to defend our community.

Vivek Ramaswami: The Perils of 'Race Neutrality'
Vivek Ramaswami's interview w/ Ann Coulter killed many birds w/ One Stone. Her blatant Racism & his acceptance of it spoke Volumes. Vivek has been pushing an Anti- Black Narrative for several years; I have personally said that he WILL become a victim of the Institutionalized Racism that he marginalized & dismissed. Ann Coulter is NO DUMMY! She tested his 'Race Neutral' stance from the start of the Interview. When she told him Point Blank that she agrees w/ him on many issues, but won't vote for him because he's 'Indian', Vivek didn't blink. He later commented that he 'respected her Courage to speak honestly'(???). THIS is what separates Black Americans from 'Brownfolk', & why ANY Black & Brown Coalition is just a pipe dream.
I have said a few times that Black Immigrants & Brownfolk don't have the same experience as Black Americans. We have an American Experience of Institutionalized Systemic Racism that has endured for Centuries. From the American Constitution, to Local Law, legislation has been put in place w/ the intent of marginalizing Black America as a Collective. For example: Property Taxes are lower & Insurance Rates are higher in Black Communities, compared to similar situations (same Property Lot size, same Vehicle) in Non Black Communities. This is by legislative design. 'People Of Color' don't share that experience. Like Irish, Italian, & Eastern European Immigrants, these Folks experienced a Period of 'Social Hazing' by the Mainstream, but are eventually included into American Society. They know Discrimination & Prejudicial Bias, but few experience the level of Systemic Racism that Black America faces daily.
Vivek Ramaswami's Case is worth noting. He's a 2nd generation American- a child of Brahmin Parents; both w/ Post Graduate Degrees (like Nimrata 'Nikki' Haley & Kamala Harris). He was born & raised in Ohio, attended Private School, & was able to amass Hundreds of Millions of Dollars at QVT Financial (managing their Biotech Division). By all accounts, Vivek is living The American Dream. His brief Public School Experience in Cincinnati has obviously affected his view of Black Americans. He has gone out of his way to slander the Black American Experience; marginalizing Our History & Our Struggle, but his Family arrived in the 1980s. He positioned himself in Conservative Politics & rose to prominence spewing Anti- Black rhetoric. Conservative News Media Outlets gave him a wave to ride, but he Wiped Out in the Iowa Primary.
Despite visiting all 99 Counties, Ramaswami received a meager Return on his Investment. Iowans liked his talking points, but weren't comfortable w/ his Religion (Hinduism) or his 'Brown Skin'. The conversations that his Wife had w/ Iowan Voters were cringe worthy! Many looked her in the eye & stated their mistrust of his 'dark complexion' & questionable Christian Values; this despite Vivek touting his Jesuit Education non-stop on the Campaign Trail. Black Americans (other than Sen. Tim Scott) would've been insulted, but Vivek & his Wife apparently took it on the chin. He dropped out of the Race after Iowa, & predictably kissed the ring of Donald Trump. Throughout his Presidential Bid, Vivek Ramaswami sounded like he was auditioning for the Office of Vice President more than President.
Donald Trump recently had an Event at Mar A Lago that Media is calling a 'Vice Presidential Sweepstakes'. Ramaswami was among those being considered. It appears that his interview w/ Ann Coulter was an effort to beef up his Social Capital among MAGA Republicans, but Coulter deflated his Trial Balloon before he could reach a proper threshold. I personally find it comical. Vivek got so wrapped up in his perceived White Privilege, that he didn't realize what he REALLY had was Anti- Black Privilege. He thought that his wealth put him in the Ballpark, but didn't realize that most Americans don't know much about Hedge Funds or Biotech. Vivek literally flew beneath the radar, but his glaringly Non- White features overshadowed his rhetoric.
Like most 'People Of Color', Vivek Ramaswami failed to understand that AmeriKKKa sees him & his demographic as nothing more than a 'Buffer Group'. Their arrogance & smugness towards Us, blinds them to the fact that they are tools of Benign Neglect Policies; set up solely for the purpose of marginalizing Black American efforts to exercise a Right of Expression... Middle Class & Poor Whitefolk are becoming aware of just how much money this demographic earns; i'm anticipating a pushback at some point. AmeriKKKa IS NOT a Democracy, it's a White Supremacist Capitalist Republic. In This Land, The Wealthy Rule & Wealthy Whitefolk (i e. WASPS) are at the top of the Totem Pole... To date, the average Asian American Family earns more than the average White American Family. Black America knows FULL WELL what happens when Whitefolk begin to think that a Non- White Population may B outperforming them. For their own sake, Latinx & Black Immigrants should pay close attention.
When We factor in the Sabre Rattling between The U.S. & China over Commerce & Taiwan, plus rising tension between The U.S. & Hindustan/ Bharat over alleged Election Tampering, there may B some blow back on Asian Americans; especially during a Time of Economical Uncertainty- think Japanese Americans during WW2... Chattel Slavery has provided Black Americans w/ a unique perspective that Immigrants don't have. Whitefolk regarded Us as Sub Human (3/5ths of Humanity), so they weren't discrete about their actions around Us. This gives Us an intimate understanding of HOW AmeriKKKa moves. We warned these 'People of Color' about the folly of Race Neutrality, as We warned Poor Whitefolk about the folly of choosing White Privilege over Progressive Politics 135Yrs ago (i.e. The Populist Movement). NO ONE took heed to Our Prophecy- that American Capitalism WILL come for them, once We're neutralized. As always, it's Profit over People.
-The pendulum swings both ways.

The unstable Ron DeSantis has been talking about flattening the Bahamas. As a result of this the US Embassy there has had to reassure the country of America's peaceful intentions.
Ron DeSantis keeps saying it would be easy to blow up the Bahamas, prompting the US Embassy in Nassau to clarify that his comments do not reflect official policy. DeSantis, a 2024 presidential candidate, took a campaign trip to New Hampshire on Saturday, where he has trailed in the polls behind Chris Christie, Nikki Haley, and former President Donald Trump, WMUR, a local ABC affiliate, reported. The Florida governor once again said during the stop that the US would "flatten" the Bahamas if anyone were to ever fire missiles from there into his state — not that there is any indication anyone would do that — Florida Politics reported. "If someone was firing missiles from the Bahamas into, like, Fort Lauderdale, we would never accept that," DeSantis said during a speech to supporters, according to Florida Politics. "We would flatten. Anything that happened, it would be done like literally within 12 hours, it would be done."
It's a shame that DeSantis has no strong feelings about the reality of Russia firing tens of thousands of missiles at civilian targets in Ukraine. Like many Republicans, DeSantis displays more hostility towards America's friends than towards its enemies.
On November 13, the US Embassy in Nassau told The Nassau Guardian that it "regrets" if DeSantis' comments portrayed "anything other than a close alliance" between the Bahamas and the US. "The Bahamas and the United States enjoy an enduring and unique partnership," the embassy said in a statement.
Relations with our allies plummeted during the Trump régime but have since recovered. A GOP victory would be good news for autocrats in Russia, North Korea, and Hungary but bad news for just about every other country.

Tim Scott on tv saying just now that "Democrats have sold their souls to the teachers unions"
Yesterday I saw a woman who lived in South Carolina when Nikki Haley was governor and at a Ron Desantis event in New Hampshire challenge him on his criticism of Haley. She was interviewed after talking to Desantis, or rather, getting yelled at by him in typical Desantis way, and said something like "I really thought he would listen to me and be decent, but the second he heard I was a teacher he just start getting nasty"
it is W I L D to me that an entire political party in this country has literally, openly declared war on teachers but it is the case. I live in Ron Desantis' Florida. Educators are FLEEING this state.

Conservatives will not elect Nikki Haley
Seriously, how can we even joke that this woman, even if she were the most qualified person in the world, would have a snowball’s chance in hell? She’s not white enough, male enough, or rich enough to be an actual contender. The average conservative is like my in-laws. Reasonably sane people who watch way too much Fox News and know that politics rarely affect them personally because they are white, middle class Christians. But also, institutionalized bigots who can’t see past their own demographic. They literally explained their reasoning for voting for Trump (probably twice, but they weren’t stupid enough to tell us about 2020) was “We just couldn’t vote for Hilary.” and when we expressed to my mother-in-law about our valid concerns for my disabled son, she actually said “You’d better pray that God gives Trump some sense and morals.” These people argue against realities they don’t like with “I don’t believe that.” as if reality gives a fuck what they believe or think. I would like to believe the ridiculousness of what’s gone on for almost a decade would wisen them up, but since the Southern Strategy has worked on them my entire life and they have reveled and felt empowered by the MAGAts to be their worst selves, forgive me if I don’t expect anything from them. Conservatives in America are a lost cause. My concern is how many moderates will see reason and not just button monkey vote for Republicans because ‘The Dems aren’t doing enough to fix the mess the Republicans made.” To quote MLK from the letter of the Birmingham jail “Shallow understanding from people of good will is more frustrating than absolute misunderstanding from people of ill will. Lukewarm acceptance is much more bewildering than outright rejection.” He called the middle out in the 60s and they are still choosing the side of the oppressor 60 years later because they cling to the delusion there is middle ground to be had with bigots who want everybody else not like them to shut up and go away. They are the ones who worry me. Conservatives are tiny loud minority who have too much power because our forefathers were afraid of actual democracy. The moderates trying to act like conservatives are reasonable is how we got here.

Pretty much agreed with you overall. Though I might want to mention a couple of things:
While I definitely agree the guy you're responding to is acting more like those types of dictators, I wouldn't even limit this crap to Stalin. Let's not forget, Vladimir Lenin practically STARTED this whole thing, including the whole smearing of anyone who disagreed with them, and if anything, if Molotov is to be believed, Lenin was arguably even WORSE than Stalin regarding that type of behavior. Heck, Lenin was actually even worse than Stalin in that he was a two-faced hypocrite regarding freedom of assembly and speech. Promising these things, then deliberately broke them mere hours after gaining power, fully intended to do so beforehand to such an extent that he gloated when asked "I only supported free speech when I was the opposition." At least Stalin, repressive as he was of those concepts, was pretty much straight about not supporting them at all rather than faking being an ally only to knife the concepts in the back. And Stalin was HARDLY a good man at all. Though ironically, that leads me to this second point:
Unfortunately, there have been adults who DO in fact seek to emulate such behavior, and people like Stalin and Lenin are actually AMONG those types of people. They read Karl Marx's Das Capital, go "monkey see, monkey do" and then try to violently take over Russia and forcibly impose Marxist views, cause mass murder (and it didn't help that Marx created Communism specifically to engineer a gorier remake of Robespierre's Reign of Terror, and that in ITSELF was the result of Robespierre, Jean-Paul Marat, Louis de Saint-Just and the like reading Voltaire, Diderot, Rousseau, and Sade's works, then going all "monkey see, monkey do" and trying to remake France to fit their philosophies that just resulted in massive amounts of casualties. It also doesn't help that Karl Marx and Friederich Engels, not to mention Voltaire, Diderot, Rousseau, and Sade had DELIBERATELY mixed fiction with reality specifically to engineer a riot against at least the king, if not God himself. As an addendum, I myself am neutral to video games. I'm pretty sure most video games won't directly inspire kids to become mass shooters, any more than most books inspire people to do a September Massacres-style scenario, or most movies won't inspire people to shoot up a movie theater in Aurora, Colorado to emulate the villain. That said, however, I WOULD still be cautious with various media, because while the medium themselves might not necessarily inspire these bad things themselves, there ARE bad actors who are MORE than willing to use the medium
And speaking as a Catholic Conservative myself (a Trump-supporting one even, though I'm willing to take Ron DeSantis and even Nikki Haley if they get the nomination if it at least gets us back to actually FIXING America, help fix the UK and our allies as well, since I'm definitely doubtful Biden's helping you guys right now.), I'm pretty sure Harry Potter wouldn't even be remotely of a concern just because they practice magic (seriously, Lord of the Rings has Gandalf practicing magic himself, don't see anyone decrying that as Satanic. And what, should we ban literally any fairy tales as well? Those have magic as well, some even being practiced by the good guys. What do you think Fairy Godmothers practice? Magic.), and if anything, I'd probably recommend my kids read the first few books of Harry Potter over watching Star Wars precisely BECAUSE at least with the first few Harry Potter books, the good guys DO adhere to absolute morality, and the main bad guy was explicitly shown to be a moral relativist (now, later books, I MIGHT need to at least keep an eye on it since they do start promoting some grays there), unlike with Star Wars, where with the notable exception of Luke and Anakin (and even the last one his moral absolutism was framed as a BAD thing not just by Obi-Wan, but even by George Lucas himself), the good guys there are explicitly adherers to moral relativism, and if anything the ones dealing with moral absolutes are the explicit bad guys (at least, they were in the Prequel trilogy, though I suspect even the Original trilogy had hints as early as the first movie when Obi-Wan used a Jedi Mind Trick to essentially brainwash a Stormtrooper, or Leia being willing to consign a by-that-point innocent planet to be blown up by the Death Star just to spare her own home planet). If anything, I'd argue the book that's more likely to actually inspire kids to go Satanic would be Harry Potter's plagiarized template, Return to Groosham Grange, since the main villain of that book was a warlock who became a born again Christian, with the Archbishop of Haiti being treated in a very bad light. At least with Harry Potter, Quirrell, Mr. Helliwell's equivalent, came closer to RENOUNCING his faith and going to Satan, and it's implied the Potters were Christians due to their tombstones. Now, that being said, I do have my criticisms for Harry Potter (namely, JK Rowling retconning Dumbledore to be gay in a cheap attempt at explaining why he'd associate with Grindelwald in the first place, and I wasn't too happy with the way Order of the Phoenix was written where everyone was pretty much unlikeable), not to mention the later books (I'd say Order of the Phoenix is definitely where it started) started promoting moral relativism, so it's not like I'm entirely uncritical of it.
And funny you should mention the bit about bad politics and people copying them in reality, and how we're not children. Apparently Ian McDiarmid when interviewed by the Guardian regarding Revenge of the Sith indicated that at the time George Lucas was making the movies, he deliberately was aiming for children for those films specifically to in effect program his views of the world onto them. And considering Lucas specifically indicated having family bonds makes one greedy in an earlier interview, and also called the likes of Barack Obama, a malignant narcissist as someone diagnosed him as and someone who definitely caused a lot of damage to not just America, but its allies as well, the ideal Jedi who made Luke look incompetent, I think you can guess what Lucas's worldview amounts to (to say VERY little about his modeling the Rebels after the Vietcong). So yeah, people like George Lucas and how he deliberately tried to indoctrinate kids into effectively becoming OWS-types are a major reason why us Conservatives are like that. And this is speaking as someone who agrees with you on your overall points, not least of which why Anakin ultimately deserves to be defended (if anything, I'd be far more concerned with an explicit good guy like Obi-Wan promoting moral nihilism, what moral relativism TRULY is, than Anakin's descent and redemption).
Thinking about when I was an Anakin Stan
I used to be a big Anakin stan as well as a huge prequels fan. I used to emulate him and was a bit of an edgelord. I would often act emotionally violent and immature as well as taking an imaginary lightsaber and slashing it all over. There were times I would advocate for a communist dictatorship while quoting him. But then I started to see how toxic that was and how nasty of a person he was. I don’t want to be like that kind of character after seeing what I was doing and I don’t want to relate to him. Looking back, he was basically every conservative white boy I met who would act friendly while spewing or supporting the most bigoted shit while getting defensive and crying “I’m just joking” or “you just cancel people you disagree with”. Seeing his stans on tumblr made me hate him more with many of them such as tragicfantasy-girl or Nerdychristianfanboy being right wing, Zionist, anti trans, trump supporters. Reading YouTube comments and seeing all the people who say they would do the same as him if their mother or wife was dying is pretty disgusting. While there are a few villain characters that I do love and sympathize with such as Princess Harumi, most of my faves are the opposite of Anakin. They’re all “chosen one” characters who are actually worthy of being called that. I’m not a Christian but Anakin doesn’t deserve to be called space Jesus after acting like a fascist, racist predatory douchebag for most of his life. Now, all my faves are characters who faced temptation, trauma and hardship but still chose to do good and keep seeing the good in people which include:
Ben Tennyson, Lloyd Garmadon, Steven Universe, Meg Murry (A Wrinkle in Time), Madoka Kaname, Luz Noceda, Ahiru/Duck (Princess Tutu), Usagi Tsukino
All these characters are far more worthy of being called Christ figures and are the kind of person I want to be. Plus they’re all teens and still chose better than Anakin who was a grown man. I have nothing against people who like villain characters and still like a few myself but emulating their beliefs/behaviors and justifying them is not okay. I have a whole other essay planned for why I like Harumi and hate Anakin despite their similarities. But I am a bit embarrassed of my phase where I acted like Anakin was the greatest thing since sliced bread especially as a person of color who’s met people like Anakin and the real nastiness of their beliefs.

Some liberal goof asserted that Ron DeSantis resided somewhere on the Asperger’s Spectrum in a recent tweet that I can’t dig up with just a cursory search, but said pinko tweeted that like it was a bad thing. It’s not. It’s a great thing, and we need more GOP pols with that condition’s political manifestation. People with Asperger’s tend to miss social cues and fail to respond as society expects, but many are also focused, driven, and generally amazing in their areas of interest. When you put those qualities together in a right-wing officeholder, that means you have a Conservative Terminator. Conservativing is what he does; it’s all he does.
So, bring on the Asperger’s Republicans.
Far too many Republicans, for far too long, have found themselves distracted and/or enslaved by the elite consensus, restrained by norms and conventions that the liberal elite demands we observe, but that it itself flaunts when those rules limit its options. These Fredocons care what people who care nothing about them think, and they find themselves responding to the outside stimuli of the garbage mainstream media instead of focusing intently on conservative change while disregarding the slings and arrows of the haters. When it comes to fighting the establishment, political Asperger’s is indicative of awesomeness.
And our next generation of Republicans needs to embrace their place on the Spectrum – the more inappropriate the liberal elite finds their reactions to its cues and signals, the better. No more tame, pliable sissies like Mitt (R-ish – Miracle Whip). No more of Nikki! Haley’s sucking up to the establishment while trying to grift the base by leveraging hack conserva-cliché’s from 2005 to present to us as hardcore instead of Jeb! in a dress. No more Kristi!s and Asa!s fronting as all tuff about men pretending to be girls to win races then folding the second the establishment disapproves. Instead, we need GOP politicians who are utterly immune to the siren song of a media and an establishment that seek to draw them in and crash them upon the rocks. Our pols need to ignore MSNBCNN and its hysterical horsehockey. They need to stop reading the NYT and WaPo and being scared that a bad write-up will get them uninvited to all the cool parties. They need to lock onto their target and take it out like an Israeli missile flattens a Hamas/AP frat house.
Look at Ron DeSantis – he just doesn't care what the bad guys say. Not at all. They scream that he won’t enforce face-diapering, that he’s too hard on election fraud, that’s he’s declared open season on those Antifa/BLM nimrods who trap normal citizens in their cars on public roads, and then DeSantis just goes ahead and does what he wants anyway. And it works – he’s super popular.
This was not Donald Trump’s style – Trump would engage the haters, if only to sock them in the gut, often with his apocryphal mean tweets. But not Ron the Conqueror. No, DeSantis’s accomplishments are his mean tweets.
See, the liberal elite always misunderstood the nature of Donald Trump, and the elite failed to appreciate the popularity of his ideas. In dealing the pain, Trump was the right man at the right time – we needed his punch-back then to show the simps we could counter-attack. But that strategy had a cost. The elite gleefully exploited Trump’s colorful antics, and it leveraged his feistiness into a weapon to energize the pinkos while alienating the softcons from fully supporting the most conservative president since Reagan. They focused on attacking Trump in terms of social class and style instead of in terms of substance. They couldn’t, and it’s only now that many people are noticing just how amazing Trump’s accomplishments were in contrast to President *’s unending series of failures.
The elite finds itself at a grave disadvantage when it comes up against a pol it can’t provoke into fighting on the elite’s preferred ground, the favorable terrain of social class and style within a culture the elite controls. An Asperger’s Republican has a relentless focus on conservative achievement, of doing what he/she wants done, and he/she is not distracted by the disapproval of the media or even his/her peers. An Asperger’s Republican simply does conservative things, heedless of liberal howling and calumny, and then the liberals are stuck having to battle on the hostile terrain of actual achievements. What is someone going to say to DeSantis as Florida leads the recovery out of the pandemic paranoia? “Sure, there was no tsunami of death when you took the lead in eschewing flu hajibs, but you still should have made people wrap a hanky around their mugs forever because of reasons?”
There’s a lesson there for Republican pols – and all of us.
Stop giving a damn what people who hate you think and say, and just do what you promised to do. Don’t ask permission – and don’t ask forgiveness either. Get it done.
This is where I must join the Spectrum Caucus because there are going to be some folks who pretend to be highly offended, outraged, and literally shaking over my analogy to Asperger’s and “The Spectrum.” To them, I say this: I don’t care if you’re offended. I am going to do and say whatever I want, all the time, in whatever manner I feel like doing and saying it, and you are going to sit there and cry. Buzz off.
We need more people saying things like that, especially among our politicians.

Hi to all -
Trump Impeachment
Well, the Senate has acquitted Trump by a vote of 57 - 43. The third fake impeachment has failed, even more miserably than the previous two. Democrats are foaming at the mouth angry - how dare they interfere with our illegal efforts to harm the man who made life difficult for us? We must punish him, forever! Remember, democrats will not abide the law, and will harm you, even kill you, to get their way. Trump thanked his supporters.
But, it seems, once again, that the Constitution rules this nation, and that document does not allow for the tactics that democrats used.
Marco Rubio (R-FL) suggested that if we were to apply the standards of the left to other matters, perhaps we can now impeach Hillary, and a host of other criminals in public service. and, that this could go on and on forever, with each new administration going after the previous ones, like ancient pharaohs removing the monuments and names of previous ones. Making them all, 'unpersons' - as in 1984, and as done by Stalin and others.
Several RINO's supported this impeachment - they are: Richard Barr (NC), Bill Cassidy (LA), Susan Collins (Maine), Lisa Murkowski (ALA), Mitt Romney (UT), Ben Sasse (NEB), and Pat Tomey (Penn). Let us hope that none of these get reelected.
San Francisco
Parents and school officials are suing the city to re-open schools, as suicides among young students are up 75%. These democrat policies to punish unbelievers are literally killing people.
Facebook
They have deleted Kevin Sorbo, the man who played 'Hercules" from their pages, refusing to answer questions as to why by his 500,000 followers. Seems he is guilty of 'thought crime' by being a Christian and conservative. He has set up a different page, and may move to other media.
Lincoln Project
Things just keep getting more interesting for this anti-Trump group. Co Founder Steve Schmidt has resigned over the allegations of his 'grooming' of young men for sexual purposes. Steve responded with a rambling complaint that said he was abused as a young man, and therefore it is not his fault. Sounds like the old 'it is someone else's fault that I am a bad person' defense, so often used by the left to excuse their behavior,
Nikki Haley
For a long time now, we have heard that she has political ambitions of her own, and was only on the Trump team in order to ride on his coattails. It appears that was correct. She came out and denounced Trump, just ahead of the witch hunt, er, ah, I mean impeachment trial.
Fenix Ammunition
This Michigan company has announced that they will no longer sell ammo to Biden supporters, since Biden supports gun confiscation. So, if the left tries, as they did under Obama, to simply buy up all available supplies, and thus end gun sales and use, at least this one company will not help them.
White House
A press secretary there, TJ Ducklo, threatened to 'destroy' a reporter from Politico over questions posed about a romantic relationship between Ducklo and Alexi McCammand of Axios News. We do not tolerate conflicts of interest here at the White House, or, more correctly, reporting on those conflicts. That which we fear, we will destroy - even if we have to kill you.
Robo Calls
It appears that the number of these has slacked off since the election. That makes me wonder - was that surge in calls before the election part of a campaign effort? For or against who? Was it a covert fund raising effort?
Memory Lane
If you go back to the 1960's and early 1970's, we had a massive anti-war effort in this country, Many of the people involved in that were avowed communists, and a lot of them are now 'dignified' members of a higher society - and even leaders in government and especially education.
Right after the war, some of our leaders sat down and talked with Vietnamese leaders, and wondered how we could have lost the war, given that we won all the battles. 'That is true', said the Vietnamese, 'you did win all the battles, but that is also irrelevant.'. Those folks knew that they could not win by military action alone, and so supported the public opinion efforts, the information war, back home. John Kerry was a major player in this anti war effort - now he is rich and famous, and a high level official in government. Those people supported communism over capitalism, and still do today. And, they are many, and infiltrate all levels of our government, education and society and business. Maybe McArthy was right - there may be a red under every bed. There are many in our government, and nation, who agree with the Obama lady who said that 'We believe, with Mao, that political power comes from the barrel of a gun.' By which, they mean, OUR guns, not yours, so we must take away yours.
Walk with your eyes open, and Check Six.
Transgenders
This is being pushed really hard by the left right now. Of all the 'rights' and 'benefits' they associate with support of this concept, they never seem to mention that transgenders have a 40% suicide rate. These are people who do not fit in anywhere, and the novelty of their presence wears off quickly. Then, depression and despair set in, and many come to a bad end.
Should we declare that being transgender is a public health problem? That it needs counseling, not acceptance? That the harm done far exceeds any possible benefit to either society or the persons involved? Could we even have a rational discussion about this?

‘Just blame the Russians!’ Moscow’s deputy UN envoy mocks Nikki Haley over blaming US unrest on Russia
The only task US officials seemingly have is finding a way of pinning the blame for literally any incident on Moscow, Russia’s deputy UN envoy jokingly said as former US ambassador to the UN Nikki Haley did just that.
The ex-UN envoy apparently decided to jump on the bandwagon of Russia bashers and put all the blame for the massive riots gripping the US following the murder of an African American by a cop on Moscow.
Haley stated in a Twitter post that “playing up” the “allegations” of police abuse in America has been the new tactics of Russian intelligence apparently hell bent on disrupting yet another US presidential election. Never mind that the killing of George Floyd, which sparked the large-scale anti-police brutality protests, happened in broad daylight and was filmed and uploaded to social media by eyewitnesses.
In the lead up to this fall’s election, Russian intelligence agencies have upped the ante. They’ve encouraged & spread hateful rhetoric by extremist groups, and played up allegations of police abuse in America. @standamericanow https://t.co/oABvopY4yO
— Nikki Haley (@NikkiHaley) June 20, 2020
Haley also said that the Russian agents allegedly “spread hateful rhetoric” through American extremist groups – all while sharing a quite murky New York Times article accusing Russia of literally being behind almost every extremist group in the US – both black and white – all while citing anonymous sources and being conspicuously mum about any details or evidence.
Her statements prompted Russia’s deputy ambassador to the UN Dmitry Polyanskiy to joke that pointing the finger at Russia has turned into a sort of sacred ritual magically absolving Washington of any responsibility for whatever happens.
“Now we know who is to blame for American racial mess! US is innocent of any troubles and wrongdoings, all the abhorrent things that we are seeing now are due to Russian agents’ encouragement!” he wrote in a Twitter post.
Dear Nikki, thank you, now we know who is to blame for American racial mess! US is innocent of any troubles and wrongdoings, all the abhorrent things that we are seing now are due to Russian agents’ encouragement! What an easy task US officials have – just blame Russians!👍🏻 https://t.co/XIlr4hlWZ7
— Dmitry Polyanskiy (@Dpol_un) June 21, 2020
What an easy task US officials have – just blame Russians!
Haley is certainly not the first to fall for the drawing power of this marvelously simple idea – to just pin it all on Russia. The ‘Russian card’ has already been played by all sorts of US officials and public figures, including ex-Obama National Security Advisor Susan Rice, Senator Marco Rubio (R-Florida) and a CNN reporter, Donie O’Sullivan.
Moscow has repeatedly denied all such allegations and said that the very idea of the protests being directed by someone from abroad is an insult to American citizens.
Also on rt.com
Injustice & inequality are the real cause of US riots – but establishment who ignored the problem now cowardly blame Russia

“JASPER DIES AT THE END” (S2E5) MASTERPOST: THE WRITERS ARE BRILLIANT (AND DAVID IS CUTE, TO NO ONE’S SURPRISE)
Hey guys, you know what everyone wants to talk about with this exciting episode that teases major character death and angst?
A book about a monster made of frozen meat!
No? Just me? Well fuck it, I’ll save the John Dies at the End talk for the end of this post, but someone is going to listen to me freak out about it, okay?! Because it is goddamn brilliant!
First though: Baby Davids.
SO MANY BABY DAVIDS.
This is actually not a Baby David. It might be hard to tell, considering he’s an adorable baby, but this is actually a grown fucking man.
Which makes the fact that he’s driving a car pretty reassuring, I guess.
Although he must stop making that tiny little pout mouth, because I might actually dehydrate myself from crying so many tears.
It’s so cute. It’s too cute.
David, I’m really gonna need you to keep your eyes on the road more than 30% of the time.
Good boy.
Also, is his steering wheel at dick height? That . . . seems wrong, somehow. Where is it?
(Also HopefullyPessimistic pointed out that he’s not wearing a seatbelt. To be fair, I don’t think this car has seatbelts, at least not in the front, but that’s not very safe!)
DAVID
LOOK AT THE FUCKING ROAD
Thank you.
GODDAMN IT YOU’RE A BAD DRIVER!
Anyway, they’re all going to the hospital because the kids glued Space Kid to cardboard, I think? And apparently this isn’t something that can be cured by, like, putting him in water until the glue and cardboard dissolve.
To be fair, I wouldn’t trust whatever chemicals are put into the glue Campbell buys (and let’s be real, probably makes). It might be a good idea to seek immediate medical attention.
Why are the kids there?
Shh, don’t ask questions. Just look at how cute Max and Nikki are.
See, isn’t that better?
Anyway, Nikki gets David talking about his time as a Camp Campbell camper just like they are now! (Seriously, how many fucking times has David used those exact words?)
David is overjoyed!
(And adorable.)
(And still not looking in even the general direction of the road!)
Max is . . . less so.
Nikki’s face!
David please, you’re gonna kill someone!!
At this point Max gets so upset he apparently starts tripping balls. Or . . . maybe they all do? Maybe this is the result of glue fumes?
I can’t imagine it’d make David’s driving any worse, at least.
And now . . . flashback time! Which means . . . CUTENESS AHOY!!!!
Oh.
This . . . is not what I was hoping for.
If Campbell could just try not to look like he’s eye-fucking the audience I’d really appreciate it. He’s like his very own Workplace Sexual Harassment video.
Baby Jasper is precious. I realize that there is no non-baby Jasper so calling him “baby” is a bit unnecessary, but . . . look at him. He’s such a baby!
The way Campbell defers to QM is oddly sweet. I wanna know more about their relationship.
I’m gonna need someone to explain to me how that moth is alive after being presumably squished between the pages of the book. Also how the Quartermaster is reading without looking at the words.
There is no good way for me to animate QM’s mustache, but trust me, it moves when he talks and it looks kinda like an octopus swimming and I find it unreasonably endearing.
UH OH GUYS
WE GOT TROUBLE
HIS NAME IS DAVEY
AND HE’S THE TOUGHEST OH MY GOD I CAN’T HE’S JUST SO FUCKING CUTE SQUEEEEEEEEEEEE LOOKIT HIS LITTLE FACE AND HIS NEAT LITTLE HAIR POOF OH MY GODDDDDDDDDD
Ahem. Anyway.
Glad to see that David never outgrew his “pushing people out of the way, often literally to the ground” phase. He’s apparently been doing that since . . . 9? 10?
Okay, is it just like a rule that female counselors have to have hair that does that? This two-tone thing is ridiculously confusing, though at least this one doesn’t look like a hat.
. . . Wh-where did you get that can from, David? Where on your tiny body did you fit it?
Gasp!
No, honestly, that does upset me. Don’t litter; it’s disrespectful and disgusting and grown-up David would be very disappointed.
Davey would like you to know that he thinks nature is stupid. At least, that’s what I think he’s saying; it’s hard to concentrate because he sounds like Mickey Mouse with a sore throat.
Also he keeps making faces that are so cute I almost drown out the dialogue by screaming.
I know I call David a kitten too much, but look at me and tell me you don’t see an angry kitten. Actually, don’t tell me, just unfollow me, because we clearly will never agree on anything important.
Boyfriends? Boyfriends.
BOY. FRIENDS.
You might think breaking out “square” and “dang” are cheesy even for David, but this was probably like 2002 or so? It’s a little-known fact, but obscenities actually weren’t invented until 2004, most people believe with the success of Lil Jon. So this was actually appalling for the time period.
Davey gets to go on some magical probably-vaguely-racist nature quest with Jasper and Campbell! And boy, is he thrilled!
There are going to be a million comparisons to young Davey and Max by everyone who watches this episode, which makes totally sense because they’re so similar and it explains so much about David’s attitude toward him and his refusal to never give up and all that.
It sounds like there’s a “but” at the end of that, but there isn’t. It’s just going to happen a lot. And that’s a pure and good thing.
I need adult David to roll his eyes even, like, a tenth as much as Baby David does. It’s so fucking cute it hurts.
Jasper is a good good boy.
You know, I have a crimelord/FAHC AU where the Quartermaster is Campbell’s right-hand man.
I’m starting to think that maybe it’s actually the other way around.
(Also David’s being totally unimpressed and Jasper’s general confused faces are so good.)
Cam, never make that expression again. Please. For the children.
David actually says “SIGH.” Even as a “bad boy” he’s the biggest fucking dork.
So they’re off! Exploring! They don’t get very far, but Davey’s face goes on a motherfucking journey all its own. Join me, won’t you?
The noise I made at this face was inhuman. I sounded like someone had stepped on my throat really hard.
That was an adventure of a lifetime, and I hope you all enjoyed taking it with me!
I literally wrote “Max” instead of “David.” I’m just not used to see that little face so angry.
This is the “check out the balls on new kid” moment for Davey, when he seems actually kinda impressed that Jasper’s telling Campbell they’re lost. Sure, Jasp isn’t a new kid, but his “this oughta be interesting” expression is great.
“We are FUCKING lost!”
No, he didn’t say that. How great would it have been, though?
Actually, @hopefullypessimistic84 has my new favorite theory, and I’m just gonna paste it here because it’s genius:
since David was the one telling the story to the trio...we don't know for sure Davey said "Darn"
The boy could've been saying some no-no words
I’ve adopted this as canon. Jasper had to learn how to swear somewhere, right?
I have no comments. David is just like 75% eyes and it’s very important to me.
David: torn between resentment and admiration for Jasper (and probably Campbell). And crossing his arms like a little dweeb.
I feel like we need to have a a conversation about how Jasper looks exactly like Griffin McElroy. (To me, anyway. I might be the only one who sees it.) Which came first, the design or the voice?
David is perfect and Campbell gives no fucks.

Some cute Jaspers, mostly for HopefullyPessimistic but let’s be real, we all need some cute Jasper in our lives.
Have I mentioned that Davey is cute? Seriously, there’s like nothing else to this post. He sounds like Mickey Mouse and looks like a ball of sunshine had a baby with a kitten.
JESUS CHRIST, CAMPBELL
Can we talk about how David knew Campbell was going to kill him? Because he’s the one telling this story, after all.
Sad David is my favorite thing. Sad Baby David is even better oh my god.
“I know I’m a bad kid —”
“I’m rotten to the core!”
Sweetie, you're like if a Chihuahua got bitten by a radioactive young Haley Joel Osment and transformed into the cutest thing on the planet.
You’re no Max.
Can we just have a conversation about how Davey looks when he says “and even if I’m not as good as he is”?
Baby
BABY
How deep does this inferiority complex go?! When did it start?! WHO KEEPS TELLING YOU YOU’RE NOT AS GOOD AS OTHER BLONDE-HAIRED BLUE-EYED TWINKS I’LL FUCKING PUNCH THEM DAVID YOU’RE SO PERFECT AND LOVABLE JUST THE WAY YOU ARE SHHH DON’T BE SAD
Seriously, though, this is goddamn heartbreaking. He’ll later say that saving Jasper was reaching his “full potential” — and I mean, yeah saving someone’s life is pretty fucking impressive, but at ~10 years old he shouldn’t consider being the sidekick to someone else’s story his main accomplishment.
Baby. Don’t do this to me. I can’t handle these feelings.
BRAVEHEART!
There are times where I just have pictures and no commentary, and I ask myself if I should just not include those pictures, because I don’t have anything interesting to say about them. And then I look at this motherfucker’s face and think no, this deserves to be stared at.
Stare at it, guys.
I should point out how cute all the kids look, but I’m pretty sure the only thing that exists for me right now is DAVID’S FACE WHAT THE FUCK AM I EVEN LOOKING AT MY BOYYYYYYY
(Also good job letting those eyebrows grow in, babe. It wasn’t a great look.)
This is the closest David will get to rolling his eyes as an adult, and we need to appreciate it.
NIKKI WHERE IS YOUR SEATBELT
THIS DRIVE IS SO UNSAFE
I AM SO STRESSED
These images are good and pure.
Wait wait wait wait WAIT
TWINSIES! (Or . . . same-person-sies. Whatever, he kept this expression into adulthood and I am here for it.)
As David’s mouth gets smaller, so do the colored parts of his eyes. You know what I’m going to say about this.
Is this post too long? Yes. Is it going to stop me? Nope!
DON’T FUCK WITH DAVEY. HE’LL FUCK YOU UP.
God this post is getting stupid
Look at him prance! That’s the intimidating prancing of someone who is gonna fuck you up
Jasper has been underrepresented here, which is a shame because he’s a lovely child and wait where’s the second half of that bear?
I mean, it’s standing on its hind legs, right? But . . . where’s the rest of it?
@ciphernetics pointed out that if Jasper had lived, he would’ve had these big scars across his chest and David would kiss them and now I want to cry so fucking thanks for that, Netics. Let’s all be sad together.
Does anyone else get a weird “Scuttle looking at human objects” vibe from this? Just me?
Just me, then.
D:
Don’t point that there, Campbell! That’s how lawsuits start!
David is not fucking around.
NOT. FUCKING. AROUND.
(Honestly, I’m slightly amazed that he got out of this forest alive. By the way, if I’m lost in the wilderness, please just use technology to save me. I don’t give a single fuck.)
David is the O.O face. He just is.
“I’ve seen bears do some pretty crazy things before.”
What . . . what kind of impossible things, Cam?
Why are you making that face, Cam?
Was it . . . was it sex things?
Look at little detective Davey! He’s my Scooby son and he can’t do anything without looking like a total dork and I love him more than life itself.
Here we have Heartbreak OH SHIT: A Triptych
(shoutout to Lemony Snicket for teaching me what a triptych is, btw. I swear I’ve learned more from those books than actual school.)
LOOK AT DAVID’S FUCKING SWEET MOVES!
Okay, someone explain to me how he could avoid getting stabbed/clawed/stomped on by three bears two bears and a maniac, yet cannot avoid damage from a single solitary bus? What happened to your moves, Davey?
Oh my sweet Jesus LOOK AT THIS FACE GUYS
Also I might just be a monster, but my response to these events would absolutely be “HOLY SHIT THAT’S THE COOLEST GODDAMN THING I’VE EVER SEEN IN MY LIFE!” not “hey you didn’t have to murder the bears.”
I mean, you kids realize that bears . . . run? Trust me, you weren’t getting far without some good ol’-fashioned bear murderin’.
Fuck, I can’t believe I just complimented Campbell. Ew. Ew. Ew, this feels wrong and weird and gross, like when you fall asleep without brushing your teeth. Ugh, let’s move on.
Well, they seem to have recovered. (Good. Appreciate the awesome.)
I’d also like a story about how the 3 of them carried those bears down a mountain, but I guess that’s for another flashback.
He absolutely thinks he’s gonna get in trouble here and my heart cannot handle it. Honey, please. Tell me who hurt you.
Thaaaaat’s unsettling.
I mean, it’s not, it’s adorable, but eyes shouldn’t do that. Makes me wonder if Campbell slipped him something up on that mountain.
Wouldn’t put it past him, is all I’m saying.
LOOK HOW HAPPY HE IS!
LOOK HOW MUCH JOY HE’S GETTING OUT OF FEELING WORTHWHILE FOR ONCE IN HIS SHORT LIFE wait a second.
That’s awful.
Does David seriously love Camp Campbell because it’s the first time he’s actually felt like he accomplished something? Is this episode actually really fucking depressing and not in the way we all assumed it would be?
Shhhh don’t think about it! Look at how cute he is instead!
Awww I just wanna snuggle him. And give Jasper immediate medical attention.
(Seriously, Campbell, the fuck.)
Here we have a grizzled old man stealing a small child’s nipple. I know it’s too high let me have this goddamn joke okay
I’d call David an asshole for not caring about Jasper’s sadness, but considering how much this episode made me feel like crying in a corner already, I think it’d be pretty mean to shit on this poor kid’s happiness by pointing out what a jerk he is.
Besides, we don’t know Jasper. He was kinda a dick in the beginning of this episode too — though to be fair this was all told by David, so I have to wonder how much of that was his obvious hatecrush.
“Ha, look at me! I’m so great! Don’t you . . . don’t you think I’m great, Jasper? Jasper, are you seeing this? How great I am?”
H A T E
C R U S H
Cute cute cute cute cute
Also um the fuck
David
This is why people on Tumblr call you gay
It’s this
All of it
All of the this
Going off to hit on/brag at his depressed totally-not-crush. Guys I ship this so hard.
I
Okay but
what am I supposed to SAY here?!
He’s beautiful!
He makes me want to cry!
I made a legitimate squeaking noise at the cuteness of these pictures!
WHAT DO YOU WANT ME TO SAY, DAVID?!
WHY ARE YOU SUCH SUNSHINE AND RAINBOWS?!
Fuck this fuck. Ruined my stellar commentary. (Ha, yeah okay.)
And now for the part I actually wrote first because I’m too excited, and nobody else will care about!
John Dies at the End is a novel by David Wong (who also serves as the narrator; think Lemony Snicket, if he was a drug-addicted depressed nihilist asshole who . . . okay, just think Lemony Snicket). It’s also a movie; I haven’t seen it, I keep meaning to, I’ve heard mostly-good things. The book is a masterpiece and I love it so goddamn much.
So what does it have to do with Rooster Teeth?
Well, the title’s an obvious nod, which Miles has just straight-up said. But also the titular John is an upbeat, recklessly gung-ho guy always eager to jump into anything, which usually leads him into getting into trouble — and dragging Dave, the reluctant, cynical asshole who wants nothing to do with these adventures, into shit with him. Now who does that sound a bit like?
It’s something of a stretch, but I don’t think it’s too far off: Jasper is John, the energetic do-gooder with a serious ego — hell, they even have the same place in the title — and David is Dave Wong, the reluctant hero who despite not wanting anything but to be left alone, ends up doing the right thing because he just can’t fucking not when shit gets real and no one else is willing to step up.
And then, obviously the major reference is in the fact that John does not die at the end of John Dies at the End. I’m honestly upset that I didn’t see the end of this episode coming, because the title basically tells you, if you picked up on the reference, that Jasper will absolutely live.
Which he does.
Also the sense of humor is a great combination of deeply poignant and so immature you can’t believe actual adults sat down and wrote it. So, obvious parallels.
THESE WRITERS. THEY ARE SO FUCKING GOOD.
(This is what being an English major does to you, kids. It’s not good for your social life. You will overanalyze everything. Obviously I highly recommend it.)
