i think the thing i appreciate the most with how horrible this game lets you be is how much of a liar you can be?

like you do bad things and then you tell someone you didnt do it and you pass a deception check and theyll believe you. i told jaheira how terrible it was that the forces from moonrise had killed isobel. i had dame aylin trust me so deeply because i told shadowheart to spare her and she doesnt know i killed isobel. the entire solving the murders segment giving devella the hope that there is another heroic bhaalspawn here to stop their siblings. telling voss orpheus attacked you and that he was killed in self-defense when you just let the emperor assimilate him without even granting him a fighting chance. pretending to trust the emperor, giving them the stones so you dont have to become a mindflayer, only to stab them in the back, to kill them right at the end when the heroic goal was within their grasp, all simply because thats not what father wants.
