talkn bout my opinions on rook and varric and roleplay and feeling disconnected (roleplay in a game sense not the freaky sense. sorry) - SPOILERS FOR ENTIRE GAME, BEWARE. this post is WAY too long. sorry about that too.

it's very evident that bioware/EA wanted an action/adventure game first and an RPG second, but let me type at you.

i hate to say that i didn't feel particularly sad about varric's fate, due to the structure of the game. it is, in hindsight, completely obvious that he was not alive! i just hadn't been thinking about varric much at all the entire game because you have limited opportunity to talk to him in the infirmary or when he plops around barefoot when everyone decides to sit at a table and talk about how fucked we are. i genuinely forgot he was there otherwise.

he barely feels like a guy himself. because there's no personalized worldstate, any specific mentions to events or characters might be jarring to the player who may have made a different choice along the way.

no one talks about how sorry they are about varric because they CAN'T or the twist is completely revealed. even with another DA2 character in the game (who my hawke romanced. who is now dead in the fade. glad to see you're LIVING IT UP ISABELA!!! (I'm jk. a little.))

there's no response rook can say to condolences outside of "oh, thanks" without the game fully revealing its Twist, because "I'll tell him you said hi" and "he'll be up and walking in no time!" are only reasonable responses from a Mourn Watcher, and even then, should still cause your companions to be a little alarmed. the closest we get to this is the inquisitor making reference to lost friends, and rook visually registers it, but its swept under the rug and moved on from immediately.

despite spending two games with him and enjoying him as a character, I struggle with feeling much for his loss AS my rook, because i found there to be no meaningful connection between him and rook. i was only told i was supposed to have one.

the game wanted so badly get the ball rolling with an immediate threat, its at the expense of roleplay. you could argue that da2 and inq also started with Immediate Threats but you are also very limited in the choosing of your backstory in those games.

rook was deliberately designed to be more open-ended, with more similarity to origins, but still gave you a prequel where you felt what your life was before The World Began To End.

there's this conversation you can walk in on with lucanis and davrin, where they're talking about their worst jobs. there are three dialogue for rook I think and i can only remember two but they were "I don't want to talk about it" or "man I have the dreadwolf in my head". (I... honestly think the third option was very similar to the second one but I have a very bad memory. sorry)

i played a mourn watcher mage. i had to have done some messed up spirit stuff. some bone shenanigans. not able to mention my Down With Nobles rebellion at all. i halfway expected it to be revealed that my rook was just like a shitty pawn (haha) and actually all her memories are fake and not real. but obviously you meet people from your shared backstory and they do know OF you but they don't really know you

in mass effect 1, there were some unique missions related to both the backstory and psychological profile you picked for shepard. they were short, and nothing happens like that in 2+3 that i remember, but they are unique to your character and are something at least.

no one really asks you much more about yourself! mourn watcher rook is literally Found In The Crypts as an Infant, an incredible mystery that you have to fill in the blanks yourself, which could be something someone wants-- but i personally like my characters a little more predefined in a game such as dragon age. vague history worked for me in games like skyrim and fallout new vegas, even baldurs gate! but makes me feel wholly disconnected from the story and group here.

there was a fair amount of dialogue choices for mourn watcher, especially with Emmrich-- talking with emmrich was one of the few times my rook felt like A Person-- but there were other times that my companions seemed to think emmrich was the only necromancer/watcher on the team. (i even specialized in death caller!)

by containing all the dialogue with companions to ! markers and outings, it's weird to be unable to have any conversations without being able to provide personal insight, whereas some NPCs in inquisition actively asked you about your past.

its particularly noticeable because of lucanis, whom my rook romanced. the dude has a lot to say about nevarran culture and the necropolis and such, and we can have zero conversations on the matter lol.

maybe this is like, really a mourn watcher thing? maybe it feels better as a crow or a warden. but if you offer me the choice to be a freak crawling around in a tomb. i am going to be.

TLDR: i really feel that a prequel mission, a recruitment by varric then a timeskip, a personal quest tied to the consequences of your backstory, something, anything, to make rook feel like an actual part of the world, was a necessity and sincerely a missed opportunity. if you actually read this far, thanks!

I really like it when fan artists in the Splatoon community draw Hypno Callie as Callie but way more psychotic and fucked up.

The way artists draw her with the swirly eyes, red backgrounds, unique posing, etc, it's so cool! Way better than drawing her as some cold brainwashed zombie that sucks the life out of Callie because God forbid that woman has a neutral expression.

It fits more in line with how Hypno Callie actually acts like in Splatoon 2. She ain't a mindless brainwashed drone and the Callie we know is gone as lots of people say oh no no no. She is a CRAZY WOMAN!!! Her dialogue is shockingly similar to her harsh dialogue found in Splatoon 1 Splatfests.

Like... friendly reminder, hypnosis ≠ brainwashing/mind control. You cannot use the two terms interchangeably no matter how hard you try to argue. Hypnosis is a weird and unique state for a person to be in.

To me, Hypno Callie works best when Callie who has been under a lot of distress and suffering from her lonely busy life, runs off and decides to join the Octarians out of her own free will, and Octavio creates these hypnotic shades in order to basically keep Callie under control more as she is a wild card and could decide to run off at random. He doesn't outright brainwash her or mind control her, but he just gives her suggestions in a relaxed hypnotic state, and those suggestions just so happen line up with Callie's morals in her mentally unwell mind.

And Callie... she just needs help. She needs that reminder of the good memories she went through. All the times with Marie... when the shades get shot off of her, she still fights with Marie, she's still angry and full of this darkness inside her heart. But when she hears that heavenly melody... all of those positive memories finally rush back into her and she goes "wait... I remember! YEAH!!!" And then she finally reunites with her cousin and gets to have a fresh start with her...

It makes Splatoon 3 more satisfying too as Callie and Marie are so happy together and look back at the past with respect and go "you know, if it wasn't for those events, maybe we wouldn't be the people we are today." That's some incredible stuff man.

And when fan artists properly show that and show Hypno Callie as the girl we know but in a crazed state that needs help, it's some powerful art...

I've seen so much art of Hypno Callie with octopus tentacles around her and her "brainwashing" Marie too and it's so fucking vile and uncomfortable and disgusting to me. Its so gross that people wanna treat Callie like that, you know? It's this weird... disturbing and... here we go....

.....sexual thing the community used to do back in 2017 to 2019. It was an awful time and the VERY SERIOUS AND DISTURBING implications that it brought up are just... WHY?!?!?! GOD WHY?!?! UGHHH!!! So i saw your post and reblog about the time god au and i was thinking that maybe it was a way for vaugardian to rationalize the king take over?

The idea that Time itself sent one of its saint (loop) to guide the savior of Vaugarde throught the house and to fight the king. And that when that wasnt enough time froze the king itself in time to punish it for tampering with its flow

It would also means that Siffrin has access to more time craft like « slow » from Odile « pretty moving cure » from Mirabelle and create tears like the king

Im guessing it would also be an oportunity for Loop to gain more information about wish craft and time craft since even before the king shenanigans they look to be mostly associated with culture outside of Vaugarde (siffrin, the king getting access to time craft with a wish and odile brute forcing craft by research)

First, I'm absolutely accepting fanart, I'd love to see what you draw!

Second, absolutely love this idea. People seeing Loop leading the saviors of Vaugarde would definitely be a big deal. It would probably lead to people connecting the Time God to stars. (Thank to this person ( @misty-is-a-dragon ) who gave me this idea.)

Siffrin would definitely want to correct people on who froze the King, but Mirabelle probably wouldn't mind since she already had so much pressure on her before Vaugarde was saved, people knowing she was the one to freeze the King would probably put a lot more pressure on her.

As for the Time Craft stuff. Sif would have unlimited control over Time Craft, but he'd have to ease into his powers first. He'd probably practice on basic enemies (do Sadnesses still exist after the King got frozen, or are they all gone?) or on random objects. (Btw, when I say unlimited Time Craft, I mean he can be as creative as he wants. Too much Craft in a short amount of time will still hurt him. I feel like too much Craft hurts because of the mental strain, not just physical strain.)

Now I'm wondering how different Sif would look in this AU? I think most of the time, he'd look normal (aka, his "mortal" form), but something similar to his big form would be his god form. Just a little less mentally unwell, lol. But if anyone thinks of something cooler, run with it, I wanna see what cool ideas you guys have!

I think it'd be funny if Sif had some one-sided beef with the Change God in this AU. Considering that conversation in the House, I feel like it'd be understandable for Sif to not like the Change God that much. Too bad for him, the Change God is the only one giving him advice on how to be a god.

Also, how do you guys think this whole god situation will affect Siffrin's and Isabeau's relationship? Sif would probably be so scared that being a god now will ruin their relationship, while Isa's just like "my boyfriend's a god, he's so cool :3."

Odile and Mira would not know what to do at first. Should they treat Sif like the god he is, or like the friend he's been? They decide on the 2nd one because Sif is already going through a lot, they don't want to make things worse (though Odile will occasionally joke about treating Sif like a god. I feel like that's her sense of humor).

As for Bonnie, Bonnie would just be hyped about having a super powerful friend. Plus, Siffrin's Time Craft could speed up cooking if they need it. No more waiting a whole day for beef to marinate!

Also, as Siffrin's saint, Loop would probably have really strong Time Craft. It's not unlimited like Sif, but it's still super strong. They'd totally brag and joke about being Sif's saint, too. Sometimes, when Mira or Odile wanna talk to him about something, Loop will be like, "You may now speak to the Time God" as they reveal Sif to them like he's royalty. As you can tell, Loop got their humor from Odile.

Honestly, I'm loving the ideas you guys have been sharing for the AU, this is fun.

Why I think Chad Charming is even worse than he seems

Needed warning: Not Chad friendly. If you are a fan of his, please proceed to read with caution.

I've noticed on Tumblr, Chad is a fairly popular icon. And that in itself isn't really an issue. Many people like characters that I don't, and that's okay. And I'm sure many people dislike characters that I do like.

But at the same time.... People appreciate certain aspects of his character that I personally feel uncomfortable with. And in this post I will explain what those aspects are and why.

His friendship with Audrey is actually quite troubling to me

Chad and Audrey's friendship, often named "Chaudrey" is quite well liked. I.... Find it a bit shady.

When I first watched through Descendants, I wasn't under the impression that we were supposed to take Chad's romantic feelings for Audrey seriously. I thought it was more of a joke that he had a crush on her and was ridiculous about it, so more of a comic relief thing than a serious aspect of the story.

But I've heard that in Audrey's Diary it says that after Audrey's breakup with Ben and humiliation, Chad was very much there for her and was supportive.

Big red flag.

What I find troubling about this is that it's during this very specific period of Audrey's life, that all of a sudden Chad is being so doting. As a guy myself, I would be somewhat suspicious of a dude who fancies a girl suddenly being very attentive and comforting to her after a breakup, suspicious that maybe it's just him trying to slip through and become her new boyfriend.

Of course it would be ridiculous to say that this is a general rule. Of course there would be guys in Chad's situation who genuinely would just want to be there for a friend in need. Maybe it really is that case with him.

But here's the thing.... Knowing Chad, would a logical conclusion really be that his intentions here were pure?

In School of Secrets, its shown that Chad was dating 11 girls at the same time.

In Descendants 2, we see that Chad actually holds somewhat sexist views on women.

And in Descendants 1, we can all remember how he was more than happy to pretend to be romantic toward Evie to just get her to do things for him, and then sold her out when it suited him.

In a way, whether or not Chad's comfort toward Audrey is sincere is a bit beside the point. At the end of the day, suppose you knew a guy with a similar personality and history as Chad's suddenly being a super friend to a girl he liked when she had just broken up with her boyfriend and was devastated about it. Would you not find him shady? Why should Audrey be any different to him than the other 11 girls he clearly fancied? What really indicates that he isn't using similar charms and manipulation that he used on Evie?

And this interpretation kinda is furthered to me by my next point.

2. In a way... Chad takes advantage of Audrey while she is mentally unwell

Descendants 3 on the surface seems as if Audrey is cruel to Chad and he is the poor victim.

But... Let's again, analyse this from a logical perspective, in oppose to the perspective the writers intend for us to take:

Audrey gets taken control of by the sceptre. It plays on her thoughts, her insecurities, and mental damage to turn her into this pink demon figure. It's messing with her brain.

Chad sees Audrey like this, and rather than act with concern that she is not being herself.... He actually genuinely sees this as an opportunity for him. He rushes toward her and offers to become her boyfriend (no seriously watch the scene, he does), or her sidekick, and also offers his support in whatever it is she is planning to do.

He's not worried for her. Not at all. He's *delighted* with this turn of events. Is this really the behaviour of a loyal best friend who cares deeply for this girl? Or the behaviour of a guy who is more than willing to take advantage of her situation to potentially become her man?

Contrast this with Ben's response when Audrey confronts him. He is concerned for her. He knows she isn't being herself. He immediately puts two and two together that she is under a spell and offers his help. How messed up is it that her ex boyfriend who she hasn't seen for an entire year is behaving more caring to her than her best friend?

It could be argued that Chad offering his help to Audrey is to be seen as him simply being afraid that she would put him under the sleeping spell unless he was of use to her. But look at his body language, his lines, and his attitude in the scene. Does it really seem like he is scared for his life? Or does it seem like he's happy?

Not to mention, even as she batters and intimidates him throughout the film, he still doesn't give up trying to get a date with her. At one point, rather than show self preservation instincts and go along with her quietly, he asks if they can hang out at his place. So... Even if he was afraid, would it really change him trying to pull this off?

If a true friend sees you making questionable decisions and not being yourself, they try to steer you back to the right path, they try to find out what's going on with you so they can help appropriately. Chad does neither of these things.

3. He is a hypocrite towards Ben

Okay this one is a bit more speculative. It could just be my protectiveness of Ben talking, but in D3, when Ben says it has been beneficial to Auradon for the VKs to live in it, Chad yells "yeah, especially for you!". Considering that Chad is standing by Audrey as he says this and it seems bitter, I get the impression that he is calling Ben out for Audrey's heartbreak.

And I get it, Ben didn't speak to Audrey after the love spell came off him. That wasn't acceptable.

But... As I said in my previous post, of all the people in the series, is Chad really one to throw stones here?

First of all, as of my aforementioned suspicions of his character's motives, I would find it more believable that this would not be anger at Ben for the idea that he has *hurt* Audrey, but rather envy of him being king and having formerly been Audrey's boyfriend. And using the fallout of the stadium performance as a self righteous justification.

Secondly, even if I were to give him the benefit of the doubt that he is mad at Ben for the right reasons..... He has no room to talk here. Chad literally has cheated on multiple girls, led on and manipulated Evie and just treats girls like utter trash. Ben's one situation of questionable neglect of Audrey is absolutely nothing compared to the hijinks Chad has pulled throughout the franchise.

Just for the record, I'm unsure the phrase "taking advantage of" can apply to a situation not involving sexual abuse. I'm pretty sure it can, but just in case I'm wrong there, please hold me accountable so I can correct it. Thank you.

I understand completely how you feel, my mom didn’t believe me when I told her a couple of years after it happened and we were split up and then invited him over to stay at our house for a week to show that I was a “liar” (obviously he wasn’t going to do it again because there was more attention on him) and then years later when I got into contact with her again, she acknowledged that she knows it happened and defended him saying that he was abused too and just a kid (he was around 8 years older than me while I was 6) so it was okay. When getting into contact with one of my other siblings, she said that my mom went years covering it up (as well as the SA I experienced from my stepdad) and hiding it from everyone until she found out what he did and confronted him to which he admitted he had assaulted me. My sibling disowned him and told everyone that he was an abuser and to stay away from him.

When you write dark content such as CSA, Incest, and other heavy topics, please keep in mind to not sexualize them and create a safe space for abusers. I understand developing certain interests in those topics because you were a victim (I am aware that those who have went through such things develop sexual interests in SA or other kinks), but if you write a smut about it, maybe keep it in the notes if you know that abusers or people who indulge in these interests in an unhealthy manner would take it as a sign that you’re a safe space and actively support what they’re doing or their desire to commit those acts.

Also, just because it isn’t a picture or video of a child being hurt/assaulted, doesn’t mean that writing smut with children isn’t CP. You’re actively painting a mental picture of minors being assaulted/harmed and sexualizing it which is 100% still CP.

I’m so sorry to everyone who’s had to deal with any sort of abuse or mistreatment in their lives and hope you’re doing better or soon find a way out of your situation. You’re very strong ❤️

The Tortured Poets Department

Track 3 – My Boy Only Breaks His Favorite Toys

This track sets the scene with the narrator telling us she has experienced this before; the voices in her lover's head suggest it's a cyclical rumination of anxious and pessimstic overthinking. She analogises her lover to the sickest army doll. I think this lyric is showing a duality of meaning, 'sickest' is often used as a colloquialism for trendiness and stylishness, paralleled to actually being 'sick', inferring his mental unwellness.

Taylor has previously referenced soldiers, battles, and armies in songs, such as in The Great War and You're Losing Me. Soldiers are often attributed to traits of honour, integrity, truth, and resilience. Her use of these metaphors have previously switched between using it for her lover or herself; depending on the narrative of the piece.

What this tells me is that she's been in the wax and wane of this recurring battle for some time, consistently fighting to keep this relationship alive, always on the defence in one way or another, and it is breaking her. This is portrayed in the opening lines of verse one, oh, here we go again // the voices in his head // called the rain to end our days of wild.

Then she goes into how this makes her cry, rivulets descend my plastic smile. I did have to finally break out my dictionary to look this one up; rivulets is a small stream of water/liquid. Here, she is telling us that she's been masking her pain for a long time behind false smiles, until she can't hold them back anymore and the tears are finally flowing from her.

At this point, it feels like the narrator has accepted that this is how it'll always be and understands that the relationship is coming to an end, which is why she's crying.

She then goes on to say but you should've seen him when he first got me, reminiscing on the beginning of their relationship when it was brand new and shiny. This period of time was when he was showing her love, attention, appreciation, respect, and pride of being with her, like when a kid finally gets their hands on that toy they've been coveting for a while and they're just so excited about it.

Eventually, they play with their favourite toy too much; they become familiar and comfortable, it becomes less shiny, and it is taken for granted. The intial excitement fades so they put less care into making sure it doesn't break, so eventually it does from carelessness of how they treat it and it becomes neglected.

The narrator goes on to say I'm queen of sand castles he destroys. She has used kings and queens as metaphors before and I feel like she is tying that into this to tell us where the story is at now. In King of My Heart and London Boy she refers to herself as a queen and her lover as a king, and in Call It What You Want she likens her career to a castle in the lyric, my castle crumbled overnight. Now, her king is the one destroying the sand castles she's been building.

She then says 'cause it fit too right, puzzle pieces in the dead of night // I should've known it was a matter of time, suggesting they were too similar as people and this was their downfall. Anecdotally speaking, I have found that having too many similar traits can mean you end up clashing a lot. For instance, if you are a very passionate person and so is your partner, but the topic you're passionate about is different, this can cause some friction.

The second verse progresses the story into there being a litany of reasons they could have stopped playing house and actually follow through with the real commitment, we could've played for keeps this time. The use of the word litany suggests that it is repetitive and monotonous and they've been in this position a multitude of times.

Put me back on my shelf // But first, pull the string // And I'll tell you that he runs // Because he loves me

The narrator feels like she has been used up and then discarded after her lover broke her. She's also in denial here because she's stating that he is running only because he loves her. This is also depicted in the chorus, he saw forever, so he smashed it up.

He is afraid of commiting to doing life with her and so he runs and he breaks her in the process. However, she attributes this as a fault of her own and says, once I fix me // he's gonna miss me. Reinforcing her denial.

In the outro, the narrator states that she felt more when they were playing pretend than she ever did with other people she's been with. When they were just 'playing house', things were more real to her with him than with anyone else, but when things actually got serious her lover was threatened by the genuine need for commitment, the illusion shattered.

She goes on to say he was the only one who took her out of her box. The others didn't truly try to know her, but when she was in a bad place (stole my tortured heart) he wanted her and loved her anyway. But in the end, he didn't want to commit and left her broken, while trying to make it out as if she was better off without him. She says that she's not.

My angst ideas for later that I'm just writing down that came to me in a series of fucked up dreams:

Most ideas were of a person going from the TFP world to the MTMTE world (haven't even read much of MTMTE so it's EARLY MTMTE).

Prompt 1:

Human ends up in this world after the Battle of Darkmount. Megatron kidnapped them and basically tortured them, then made them watch as they blew up the Autobot base. They basically think that they're responsible for the deaths of all their friends. They somehow got to the MTMTE universe and became a part of the lost light. Ratchet treats their wounds but it's pretty gory and awful. Eventually they are healed physically but they often have panic attacks and nightmares- but those are normally in private. One day they fall asleep in the medbay and wake up screaming and unable to breathe because of their panic attack, and when they calm down a bit they are muttering about how it's their fault their dead (TFP bots).

Prompt 2:

Human from the TFP world is put into the dimension via groundbridge (like the shadowzone episode of TFP- only this time it was with a ground bridge and a space bridge so it sent them to the MTMTE universe). They know how to make the tech for ground/space bridges, and they get the Lost Lights help to build it (materials for building it). So at this point, they've been working at it for months trying to get home to their bots who have basically become family at this point when Brainstorm goes in their room while they're out. He is curious about it, but accidentally breaks it when Whirl runs in at him.

This human, who was already losing hope because they were struggling to make the bridge, freaked out when they saw it. They fall to their knees and cry as they whisper "Do you have any idea how long that took...? I'm never going to get home..."

Brainstorm tries to apologize, but the human yells for them to leave, so they do. They end up just laying there for days until Ratchet forces their way in there to take care of them.

Prompt 3:

Human from the TFP world goes into Earthspark and it's similar to prompt 1 where they were tortured. They think their bots died, and that they're responsible for it- now they live with Dottie because she was kind enough to take them in. However, they suffer from major PTSD and are terrified of Megatron (which makes him the big sad©).

Prompt 4: This one my friend came up with because she's had similar things happen to her. Might make this one because she wants a sort of vent fic.

Human A who was really fucked up by Megatron physically (who is physically healed now but mentally unwell) ends up on the Lost Light with person B (a major bitch who sold out the bases location to the deceptions).

One day they're in Swerves bar, and the conversation of battle wounds comes up- and then sacrifice. Person B starts bragging about how they survived Megatron, and everyone is like "omg ur so brave" but then Person A scoffs at them.

Person B ends up asking "What would you know about sacrifice?"

And they (TW mild gore in red text): take off their prosthetic arm, take out their prosthetic eye, and take off their shirt so everyone sees their scars.

Everyone is like just in shock as the Human A goes on a rant about how Human B was a sellout, who allied with their worst enemy.

ok here it is my whisper/deacon brain rot for their web weaving is under the cut. i'm mentally unwell about them.

1. trust no one

this one is pretty obvious. it's deacon's first and favorite lesson. little does he know that after coming out of vault 111, it was greta's modus operandi as well.

2. vulnerability is the last thing i want you to see in me, but the first thing i look for in you.

this quote was more deacon-focused, but it does apply to both of them. upon "first" meeting (that was face to face), deacon is still looking for any signs of cracking in whatever façade greta has created for herself by this point. he wants to pick people apart, but makes sure that no one can do the same to him. for greta, she isn't too great at emotions after being thawed out (she became a lot more withdrawn in that department, despite pretending to be an open book). she'll make sure she can pinpoint your vulnerabilities before you're even aware of them, just so you don't notice her own.

3. i don't understand your specific kind of crazy but i do admire your total dedication to it

this is peak whisper/deacon while doing shit for the railroad. they work together extremely well, in part due to whisper's career as a spy before the bombs (of which deacon has no idea about but he has Suspicions). a big part of their relationship is trying to outdo the other, constant one-upmanship; who can tell the most outlandish lies, put on the most well-crafted personas, or pull off the wildest stunt while clearing the way for safehouses. they are both insane.

4. i want to take a bite out of you, figure out what you're thinking

while working together, they obviously get to know each other--or they get to know as much of each other as they are willing to show. it's both fun and frustrating for them with neither wanting to fully give.

5. our eyes had the most devilish affair; meeting in secrecy in a room full of people.

these two dance around their feelings like they're legally obligated to, but they'll just say that neither of them have done anything about it because of "anti-fraternization" rules put in place by their fearless leader.

6. the nonsense has escalated

this was there purely because their nonsense (feelings) escalates. that's it.

7. the great pretender

i always see this as a deacon song But it fits both of them. they are both extremely lonely people in similar and different ways and put on different masks to compensate.

8. not because i don't trust you, but because i can't bare for you to see me as i really am.

another one showing how much they share and how much they don't. at this point in their story, greta has come clean about a lot of stuff: her real name, her career as a spy, looking for a son she isn't even sure she wants to find, as well as her familial connections to the calverts (who i argue could be partially to blame for the way the war went tbh). she has always lived with a lot of self-loathing and that's part of why she is the way she is, putting on different personas to hide the fact that she hates who she is. for deacon, this is when he tells her about the up deathclaws, about barbara, and about joining the railroad. they finally get to see the other's vulnerabilities.

9. sometimes you get so close to someone you end up on the other side of them.

in trying to understand each other, seeing each other's ugliest parts, they find that they might never understand each other completely. it doesn't quite drive a wedge between them as much as things are a little awkward between two people allergic to talking about their emotions.

10. how to disappear completely and never be found

so deacon talks about wanting to "bug out" and leave sometimes, but in this case, greta is the one who bounces after destroying the institute. she's got a lot to deal with internally and needs her space to process.

11. an exercise in love: i have left the door unlocked, just in case

deacon won't admit it, but he's always on the lookout for her after she disappears. he listens for her laugh, the sound of deliverer, anything, but she doesn't show for a while. but if he knows anything about his whisper, she'll come back again, and he'll be there waiting.

First colors I chose for Robin were warmish shades of grey to represent ashes that they rised from and golden-yellow for their eyes just like the flames they died in. Their collors changed to these less naturall shades after resurrection.

Here are some edited portraits from art breeder of Robin before and after they died.

Their favorite color soon became the yellow ochre, a deep clayish color and also pretty similar to Robin's symbolic bird's colors. And then every pallet that has such color in it is a good inspiration to make something that would suit Robin.

I dug a lot in old fashion magazines for my uni, and Im terribly in love with 80s silhouettes.

I would cast this person to play live-action Robin 😍

To sum up Robin likes loose pants and blouses, puffy sleeves, high-waist bottom clothes. They like layering so it's vests, overcoats, belts, scarves, cloaks. Also hey prefere embroidery over jewelry. They have their ears pirced and they have a few pairs of earings in collection.

Day 9 Familliar

"Carrot" is just a silly little name that Robin gave to a species of tiny little birdies they have been meeting in a forest since they were a child. Qute a lort of them lived in the area. Robin was surprised to keep meeting one particular bird even after they moved to live and learn magic in their aunt's shop.

Carrot is non-tamed animal, brave enough to approach and get fed but not enough to let people catch or hold her. She can sit on a hand, head or shoulder, even nest there as a sign of her highest affinity but does not like being touched.

Carrot is nesting in a well hidden spot of roof space of the magic shop. She is very protective of her nest.

Faust is educated not to attack Carrot (orange friend), but Carrot is always cautious of Faust and flies away the exact moment Faust's tiny had pops up.

Carrot only shows up on rare occasions such as Robin feeling unwell mentally or physically. She also appears in anticipation of upcoming truobling events starting from bad weather up to dead evil count being resurrection on a masquerade night, if you know what I mean :'3

Carrot's singing is very musical and has a a healing cheering effect on Robin and those who listen carefully. Robin can hear her voice from longer distances.

Day 10: Patron Arcana

(pure headcanon, don't address me on that, i don't know what I'm doin 🥲)

Robin's patron Arcana is The Fool. The Fool is unlike any of other patron, he has his own ways of existence. He's null and complex at the same time, which makes him beyond reach of any other Arcana. The Fool is more a power and a concept than a particular person or character, and he does not have his estate in magic realm - no limits or borders exist for him. However there is Scout, a associate and guardian of The Fool and they are believed to hold part of his powers and to be the last frontier keeping The Fool safe and under control.

Robin is in a compete awe over Scout. They think Scout is the prettiest cutest creature but always treats them with respect as a magical being should be treated. They understand each other pretty well.

Day 10: Relationships to the other arcana

Robin has not been close to any of the arcana in person. They listen carefully to what cards whisper when they make readings and tryed to be polite to the deck. Asra taught Robin everything they know on tarot(he had to do it twice, oouf). But these always were more of a relationship with the deck itself. The instrument of a magical art created by Asra coud show character. But when it chosed to speak - it was with clear and deep voices of the archetypes.

When in in game timeline Robin met several of Major Arcana, they recognized them and were both confused and excited for the opportunity.

PSA on Britney Spears and the #FreeBritney movement for anyone that needs or wants more information on what is going on with her. It’s a fucking rabbit hole, so buckle up.

A little backstory first. Britney was a child star starting at the age of 4 years old on Broadway, and then worked her way to the Mickey Mouse Club, and eventually the solo career we know today. Her career has been on autopilot her entire life. If you look back at her music, she’s been telling everyone for years she’s too controlled and treated as a product if you listen to the lyrics of most of her hits. Examples include: Lucky, Overprotected, My Perogative, Circus, Piece of Me and Gimme More. Her music videos, social media posts, tour props and photoshoots regularly show her in a cage or in chains. If anyone has ever seen videos of her when she was younger, you’d know her REAL singing voice is very similar to Christina Aguilera’s. Her record label didn’t like it, as they were both on the Mickey Mouse Club and about to release their debut albums at the same time. So they had her voice retrained to sing in the baby voice we all know today because they believed it to be more iconic and would create a brand and career for her instead of her real voice. It’s unhealthy, and it’s been destroying her voice over the years, thus why she is known for lip syncing. She wanted to make an acoustic type pop album in 2006 titled Original Doll and reinvent herself using her real voice. The album was shelved and cancelled once her label realized she would be singing in her real voice. She isn’t allowed to sing live because she will either fail terribly, or she’ll have to sing in her deep voice that she isn’t known for. Her entire career she has been treated like a product meant to sell.

Now, for the real tea.

Everyone remembers the 2007 meltdown. Everyone. Leading up the meltdown Britney was going thru a public divorce, had two children under the age of 2 at the time and was VERY much the focus of the public. We all saw her on every magazine cover. We all also saw the photo of her with one of her kids on her lap while driving. Go on YouTube once and look up ‘Britney Spears paparazzi’. You’ll watch her be chased and followed by hundreds of them, even trying to get into a public restroom to photograph her, videotaping her in tears asking them to leave her alone, and even filming her thru the windows of an ambulance while she was naked being taken away for her final mental health hold.

After the public meltdown, shaving her head, locking herself in her home with her children, speaking in a british accent on regular basis, wearing the imfamous pink wig everywhere, and shopping naked, she was hospitalized twice. After the hospitalization, her father petitioned the courts to be a TEMPORARY conservator to her until she was mentally stable and for only one years time. 2 months after her hospitalization she did a guest appearance on How I Met Your Mother. 6 months after her hospitalization, she drops the Womanizer video and starts to promote her new album Circus with its worldwide tour that grossed $131.8 million. If she’s so unwell, why did she start working right away?

Her father after one year petitioned the courts for the conservatorship to become permanent due to her ALLEGEDLY having EARLY ONSET DEMENTIA in her TWENTIES. It passed and has been that way ever since. For 12 years to be exact.

Now for everyone that doesn’t understand what that means let me break it down for you.

Britney Spears is a now 38 year old woman who is not allowed to do the following without her fathers permission or he can legally lock her up in a mental health facility:

• drive a car

• vote

• get married

• have children

• spend HER OWN MONEY

• see how her money is being spent

• see her children (she has 30% custody of both of her boys due to her dad assaulting one of her sons)

• leave her home

• hire her own lawyer

• have any control over her career

• speak about the conservatorship publicly

• do interviews that aren’t scripted and all final cuts are approved by her father as well

• use a cell phone without being monitored

• use social media unmonitored

• contact ANYONE without being monitored or having them extremely vetted. (Iggy Azalea allegedly had her house searched for drugs top to bottom when they collaborated on a song together)

• go shopping

• go for a walk

• get Starbucks

A conservatorship is meant for people with mental health issues or decaying health. Most likely grandparents or people with actual dementia etc. They are meant for people who literally cannot take care of themselves. If she is so unwell that she isn’t mentally capable of doing anything for herself, why is she still working? Since the conservatorship began 12 years ago she has:

• released 4 albums

• done 3 worldwide tours

• did a FOUR-year Vegas residency

• was a full time judge on X-Factor

• released multiple perfumes and a lingerie line

• made $138 MILLION DOLLARS or so A YEAR

In January of last year, Britney was placed in a mental health facility for 3 months after being seen driving her car to In-N-Out with her boyfriend without permission and for refusing to take the sedating medications her father has doctors prescribing her to keep her under control. She testified to a judge in documents that she was held there against her will by her father. After it was leaked to the press that she was there against her will, the Free Britney movement picked up speed causing a judge to open an investigation into the impact and legality her conservatorship has on her life. Britney’s mother Lynn was also liking and commenting on Free Britney posts saying she agrees that Britney is trapped by her father. Britney’s team had Twitter disable the Free Britney hashtag, and regularly threatens any celebrity that speaks out using the hashtag with a lawsuit if they don’t remove their support for the movement. She was seen shortly after leaving a hotel thru the front door (99% of celebrities park underground to avoid paparazzi unless they WANT to be photographed) stumbling while carrying her shoes, and out of it. Her team used that moment to justify to the public that she needs this conservatorship. She is not allowed to have any say in the hiring or firing of anyone on her team. Every year she pays $1.1 million dollars in fees for the conservatorship to continue, including paying her father a solid $100k+ salary and paying a lawyer she isn’t allowed to choose. She is allowed an allowance of around $1,500 a week for bills, shopping and essentials. Her net worth is $250 million.

So, when everyone sees her on Instagram walking up and down her hallways like it’s a fashion show. That’s all she is allowed to do. She has NEVER had control over her life. I don’t care if you personally like her or her music, NO ONE DESERVES THIS. All this woman wants is to see her children, make the music she wants to make, and go get a frappuccino in her car. She is a light of sunshine in this world, and we must protect her at all costs. So please, do not make fun of her, support the Free Britney movement, and send good vibes her way. She has a court date this month to review the conservatorship and decide if it is abusive or will continue to be in place. There are so many details to this that i left out that would make this post entirely much longer than it is, but a simple search will show you what else is out there.
