“awakened imagination” by neville goddard · a summary
this post is the first of a forthcoming set in which i summarise and simplify neville goddard’s book “awakened imagination”. you can read the original here, and you can check other summaries here. please note this book is heavily reliant on his religion and, as much as i will try to make it as non-religious and simple as possible, there are still passages and comparisons that i can't take out without hindering neville words’ meaning. take these posts as if i were taking notes for future reference during class.
❁ chapter I : who is your imagination?
“imagination” is the kind of word that has been used for so long it has gathered plenty of different meanings, which often oppose each other: thought, hallucination, suspicion... neville identifies “imagination” with the power that makes achievement of our goals inevitable. there is only one thing in the world: imagination, and all our deformations of it. imagination is the very gateway to reality.
according to blake, man is only a natural organ subject to sense; the eternal body of man is imagination: god itself, the divine body. by imagination we have the power to be anything we desire to be; only as we live by imagination can we truly be said to live at all.
with this book, neville wants you to function imaginatively, to open your “immortal eyes inwards into the worlds of thought”, where you have all of your heart's desires ripe and ready to harvest. imagination is the hidden mystery from the ages, the hope of glory.
“every man is mary and birth to christ must give”.
imagination's birth and growth is the gradual transition from a god of tradition to a god of experience. if the birth of imagination in you seems slow it is because you are unwilling to let go of that comfortable, but false, grasp to tradition.
man is the garden in which christ —imagination— sleeps. man is awakened by his imagination getting lifted up to heaven and being made god-like. in the moment of awakening, he meets the test of sonship, of his imagination being christ: the forgiveness of sin (“sin” meaning failing to achieve one's aim in life, falling short of one's ideal; “forgiveness” meaning identification of man with his aim/ideal in life). this tests man's ability to inhabit the nature of his opposite (go from the state of the undesirable self to the state of the desirable self), to perform the work of an awakened imagination.
is imagination power sufficient to, not only enable us to assume, but to execute the idea too?
suppose i desire to be in some other place, but i lack the social and financial resources to do so; could i, just by imagining myself in such place, cause the physical realization? would only my imagination be sufficient to incarnate my desire? does imagination understand what is deducted from the senses? does it recognise the outer world?
suppose i am capable of sustaining the feeling of the wish fulfilled, of acting with continuous imagination; will my assumption harden into fact? and if it does, will i find that my actions throughout this period have been reasonable? after assuming that i already am that which i desire, must i constantly guide myself by “reasonable” ideas and actions so as to cause the fulfillment of my assumption?
the answer to all these questions is that an assumption, though false, if persisted in, will harden into fact; continuous imagination is sufficient for all things, all of our “reasonable” plans and actions won't ever make up for our lack of continuous imagination.
“imagine that you are and you shall be”.
truth depends upon the intensity of imagination, not upon external facts. you become what you imagine. you have a self-determined history. imagination is the truth, the life revealed.
but the thing is, we cannot get hold of truth with the logical mind (stop thinking and worrying about the how! logic does not come into play here, let it go, you don't need it), it cannot be enclosed by facts: as we awaken to the imaginative life, we discover that imagining a thing is to create it, that true judgement doesn't need to conform to the outer world to which it relates (this means, the truth doesn't always look the same as the 3D does at that moment).
the imaginative man does not deny the reality of the sensuous outer world (3D), but knows that the inner world of continuous imagination (4D) is the force by which the outer world comes to pass. he sees the 3D and all its situations as projections of the 4D. to him, everything is a manifestation of the mental activity present in his imagination, without the outer, reasonable man being aware of it. he knows that everyone must become aware of their inner activity, and the relationship between the inner and outer worlds.
the moment you discover that your imagination is god-like, you accomplish acts that can only be described as miraculous. but until you realise that everything you come across is part of yourself, you won't accept that you are the one that has chosen the conditions of your life, that they are in affinity to your mental activity. you must firmly believe that reality lies within you, not without; although others have bodies and lives of their own, their reality is rooted in you and ends in you.
it is a marvelous thing to discover that you can imagine yourself into the state of your wish fulfilled and escape the prison of ignorance. embrace this new knowledge and let go of your past beliefs for they're untrue. live in continuous imagination and make your desires come to pass.

Yuumori Characters as Disney Princesses (cus I’m bored :))
I’m gonna preface this by saying that some of these you’re just gonna have to trust me on cus I chose them just from pure vibes alone and went from there. I also haven’t re-read/watched Yuumori in a while nor have I watched any Disney movies as of late so again, just trust me bro lmao. I came up with most of these at 2am so sorry in advance.
Also, if someone has already done this, I’m sorry and I hope my choices aren’t just the same lmao.
Liam - Aurora/Sleeping Beauty
So this one is mostly just cus they both ended up sleeping for a long ass time lmao. Liam was in a coma after the fall for x months and Aurora was cursed to an eternal sleep unless her true love kissed her awake (we won’t talk about the horrors of the original fairytale, I’ve tried to blank that out of my memory tyvm). They’re also both blondes…uh huh. Aurora doesn’t have much personality that I can remember other than being an animal lover and a good singer so…that’s just all I have lmao. I also just think Liam would make a very cute Sleeping Beauty lmao.
Albert - Jasmine
I did consider giving Albert Rapunzel cus of the whole locked away in a tower thing, but outside of that and having shitty mothers (Mother Gothel wasn’t even Rapunzel’s real mother but still) there isn’t much similarity personality wise? Idk. I picked Jasmine just cus they both come from rich families yet have no patience for other rich people. Jasmine also disguised herself and went into the town/city to pretend she was a normal person and that feels kinda Albert-ish? They’re also both smart and sarcastic so Y’know.
Louis - Cinderella
This one feels kinda obvious lmao. Both were raised by awful rich people who treated them like a servant, both were orphans and both tended to the upkeep of their homes. I do think Louis has more of a backbone than Cinderella, especially towards the end of Part 1 of the manga. Also again: both are blondes lmao.
Moran - Merida
So…this one is mostly vibes but also not. I think Moran has a similar wild streak to Merida and accidentally turning a loved one into a bear because he didn’t watch his wording when asking a witch for a spell sounds like something Moran might do? Bear (hah) in mind I haven’t re-read Yuumori in a while so I may be wrong on that. Also I guess bows and arrows were the guns before guns were invented so…so there’s that lmao.
Bonde - Mulan
Feels like another obvious one? They both disguised their genders to achieve a goal (although I did interpret James to be a trans man whereas Mulan wasn’t rly? Cus she went back to presenting as female after the war so idk). They’re also both pretty outspoken and don’t care for the roles society has put them in as women and actively break that stigma (Mulan by going to war and James by often dressing as men even before he transitioned). Idk I just like this one lmao.
Fred - Snow White
Again, this is mostly vibes. I’m pretty sure Snow White is the youngest of the Disney Princesses at 14 (Don’t quote me on that cus I could be wrong), so I feel like that parallels Fred being the youngest of the Crime Gang. Snow White also has a connection to animals which can also connect to Fred’s love of cats and nature in general as he does most (all?) of the gardening. I think they’re both pretty quiet and shy and that’s all I really have lmao.
Mycroft - Megara
Okay, okay, relax, I know Megara isn’t an official Disney Princess (she SHOULD be, but whatever), but she’s the only one I could really see as being similar to Mycroft? Ya’ll are really just gonna have to trust me on this one lmao. I just think they’re both pretty independent and cynical and sarcastic and just…I really don’t know the vibes just fit, I can’t explain it.
Sherlock - Ariel
OKAY👏HEAR👏ME👏OUT. This is the only one I’m 100% confident on BSJDNKFS. They both have a niche obsession that they collect items from, Ariel with humans and Sherlock with Mysteries/Crime. They both make massive life changes for the man they love (a man which, by the way, they barely knew lmao), Ariel in becoming human and Sherlock by leaving his life, family & friends behind to live with Liam in New York. They also almost died to achieve this, Sherl from leaping off a goddamn bridge to save Liam and Ariel by her deal with Ursula. IT WORKS, I’M TELLING YOU.
That’s all I have, I was gonna do other characters but I just hit a brick wall with it lmao. (I considered John to be either Tiana or Belle, but I’ll leave that up to you 👀)
If you made it this far thank you for listening to my bullshit lmao.

lo and behold, here’s my sexuality list for some of the lackadaisy characters! i am well aware most of these aren’t canon and that i’m being a little ‘too fruity’ with it, though that’s alright! these are just my opinions and, frankly, i don’t want nor need them to be canon in any way -- they are just aspects added to the characters mostly for my enjoyment. some of these are subjected to change ( due to a variety of reasons ) and some of these i may consider ‘canon’ in the sense that i read the characters with these headcanons in mind. i could also write an essay on some of the hcs listed here, but for the sake of simplicity i kept them as brief as i could … but without further ado, lets get on with it! :
rocky : he’s rather confusing, sexuality wise. tentatively would say he’s bisexual to some degree given how little someone’s gender matters to him, and that he also falls under the asexual umbrella ; being either demisexual or greysexual perhaps! he mostly just yearns to be loved and to serve as an invaluable object in someone’s life, taking his devotion to the extremes even if it’s unasked of him to do so. i don’t think he actually thinks about romance and any of his romantic feelings for people are more so vague and metaphorical … while he wouldn’t turn down a relationship, especially with someone he ‘desires’, i don’t necessarily think thats his goal either. rocky is too easily caught up in outside factors to function normally in a traditional romantic sense, and any such activities that come with dating is the furthest thing from his mind. he likes being someone’s number one, their one and only, the most important force in their life … but if he can achieve that without romance, then he’ll be fine with that too. rocky will die for his crush ten times over but is rather okay with never getting to kiss even their hand. he’s an enigma!
freckle : transgirl and she’s too nervous to figure out the rest of her identity as it stands, though would probably be best described as demisexual. might have a phase where she adopts the lesbian label due to a preference for women only to find out she’s still attracted to men … swears off labels after this due to embarrassment! overall, freckle’s whole thing is about exploring her gender identity more than anything else ; finding a skin that’s actually comfortable for her to wear and easing some of that inner turmoil and anger inside of her. wiggling into something that feels freeing rather than being eternally tied down by her mother’s intense catholic views. ivy helps freckle out a ton too, making for a great mentor when it comes to embracing femininity and enjoying the girlish birthright of crushing on stupid boys, and speaking of ivy …
ivy : heteroflexible plain and simple! is primarily interested in men while showing little to no attraction towards girls, and wouldn’t have ever dated one had it not been for freckle transitioning. she staunchly refused to break up with freckle after, and decided ( rather brazenly ) that she’s got a girlfriend now and that’s really cool actually!! plus she now has a loophole to present to viktor so he doesn’t try to kill her paramor. love wins <3
viktor : straight. he is not sexually nor romantically into men, sadly. has mostly sworn off love in general though, so he doesn’t think about this stuff as it stands ; and he’s kinda behind on all these terms anyway. but despite this, he wouldn’t be opposed to being life partners ( or being in a qpr ) with a man if things fell that way. see my mini essay on vikdecai for additional info on that!
mordecai : transman, homoromantic(?), and asexual … mordecai keeps all of this under lock and key, with the only people knowing about his trans identity being atlas, mitzi, and viktor ( who all found out through various means ) -- though serafine and nico also heavily suspect it themselves. he’s more oblivious to his homoromantic inclinations though, as well as his asexuality to an extent. will typically dismiss his repulsion towards touch as something else he’s just being ‘neurotic’ about, rather than holding any real significance. the reason for the question mark near homoromantic is simply due to the fact i could see mordecai still being interested in women! so i sort of flip between homosexual labels and demiromantic labels for him. but he definitely, and without a doubt, has a heavy male preference regardless!
mitzi : straight and polyamorous … kind of. she’s experimented with women before ( on the road, most notably ) and has no qualms about being with them sexually or doing minor romantic acts with them either. she’s just never been particularly attached to them the way she is with men, hence her more serious relationships being exclusively with the opposite gender. still, she’s more casual and loose with her sexuality than most are, and is more than willing to be with a girl if it suits her needs or makes her happy. might become bisexual down the line after meeting women that fit her type, or she might always be straight with a few ‘exceptions’ … being kind of heteroflexible in that regard! and as for her polyamory, while she enjoys that lifestyle and could commit to it again, she much prefers monogamy now, usually. see my mitzi’s type post for more info on all of that!
zib : oh boy. i don’t think zib cares for labels and prefers being an unlabeled mess of a thing ( calling himself and resonating with ‘queer’ is as far as he’ll probably ever go ) but to make this simple, he’s sort of a … bisexual, genderqueer, demiromantic, and polyamorous cocktail. and even those labels are almost too restricting for zib, who’s rather unashamed and free where it concerns existing as his disastrous self. he likes men, he likes women, he likes people who aren’t men or women, he likes people who are both … he’s a man, and sometimes a woman, or at the very least enjoys dressing like a woman … he likes casual and multiple partners … he struggles with more traditional romantic commitment but wants it nonetheless … etc, etc. he’s sort of everywhere! views life through a simplistic lense of ‘if i like it, then i like it’ and doesn’t bother with it further.
wick : a man who is straight by design and default, since his type is as standard as it can get … aka being primarily interested in curvy women who are extremely feminine. he still likes all manner of women though! but he’s not really into men really, even if he’s extremely open minded about lgbtq+ overall and almost wishes he could have a queer experience of some kind. if only because everyone around him thinks he’s gay or has assumed it at some point in time. though there is some wiggle room despite this! wick could become romantically attracted to a man, i think, if certain things aligned -- but will never be attracted to them in a standard sexual manner. it’s too complicated for me to thoroughly explain here ( and @churchwick is more qualified to talk about this than me anyway, as the wick expert ) yet i do think wick could fancy himself an exception or two. he’d be rather awkward about the whole thing though </3
serafine : lesbian who barely ever bothers with men and isn’t shy about showing off her lady-type preference. she also has some gender stuff going on, occasionally embracing he/him pronouns alongside her feminine ones whenever she so pleases. operates on very hedonistic grounds too, constantly adorning herself with pretty girls until her arms are full and keeping her furniture warm, since she sleeps better that way if nico is unavailable. enjoys taking in girls who are ‘blind’ and need to be shown the truth … likes offering them a better life within her cult and by her side. although it’s worth noting that serafine is rather casual with her conquests and hardly ever takes on a permanent and more personal ‘lover’, but she’s semi open to the idea of it regardless. she is merely going through life and enjoying wherever it leads her, after all.
nico : i’ll be honest, i have no clue! i do not think about nico enough to have an opinion on his orientation, but it felt wrong to seperate the savoy siblings, so here he is anyway. he’s certainly cisgender and is extremely comfortable with being a man. and, like his sister, he’s more prone to casual arrangements rather than actual dating. i could see him being pansexual perhaps! i don’t think he cares for gender much, and will go for anyone who is ‘hot’ enough or ‘interesting’ enough if that makes sense. he’s a little shallow about it! but again, those are just my rather quick thoughts on the matter. i seriously need to think more about nico sometime, whoops.
lacy : extremely repressed bisexual! she is rather inexperienced with dating in general, having been strictly study focused in school and now that she finds herself as wick’s secretary, she still has little room left for a love life. her entire schedule is mostly just wick, wick, wick, and wick … keeping sable stone & quarry afloat business wise while also tending to her employer’s personal health and safety as well. such a busy life ( on top of tennis and the occasional lunch with friends ) has her rather closed off to meeting men or being courted by them, with her crush on wick being no help in this regard either! she is rather content with his company and has made little effort to seek out new men to converse with, or engage with women in a flirtatious manner. but eventually she’ll have a rather violent bisexual awakening that sends her reeling and leaves her confused, a little caught up in the almost teenage throes of envy, admiration, and hate towards the women she’s attracted to. over time she’ll get over herself and her perpetually reserved demeanor enough to explore this side of her -- though it will come with many bumps along the road and won’t be as seamless of a transition for her as it would be for some people.
church : homosexual through and through. he’s unmarried and is taking great advantage of the pansy craze happening underground. engages in more casual relationships with the same rotation of men due to a.) not caring for romance and b.) also being keenly aware of the fact that there are plenty of people out there who would use this to ruin him, blackmail him, or worse. so to say he’s extremely careful and secretive about it all is almost an understatement. hasn’t ever required a beard due to his disdainfully bored personality … but not having a wife to feign care towards leaves him with ample room to explore and carry himself as he pleases behind closed doors. if anyone knows the ins and outs of some queer scenes in st. louis, it’s him, surprisingly. and he’s rather tight lipped about the whole thing.
atlas : like the man himself, nobody knows, not even me! he definitely loved mitzi, though whether or not he was equally into men is a mystery.
so tada! those were my very brief and incoherent notes on the lackadaisy crew and what’s going on with them, sexuality and gender wise! i originally planned to discuss other characters here as well, like asa, the arbogasts, ruby, virgil, etc … basically anyone else i could think of, or whoever else that was listed on the lackadaisy characters page that i hadn’t covered yet. although to be frank, i don’t have many thoughts on those characters where it concerns their orientations! so i left them alone for now. maybe one day i’ll update this or make a part two -- who knows! though i’m more than content with this being my list for now haha
#my posts.#don’t really have much to say in the tags surprisingly!#besides like … *points at the sign* these are just my opinions!! you can have your own or disagree!! thats 100% fine#these are just how i normally see the characters and how i normally write them or analyze them y’know#some are goofy silly with NO canonical merit and some are basically canon with some added flair#but uh. yeah <3#we have fun here sir and yes i have WAY too many thoughts and opinions on this subject sorry#its just me and my sometimes elaborate sexuality hcs for cats against the world …#anyway now im off to do my actual work now. rip.

hii!! i was wondering what made yall pick Apollo for Ambrose' “idol” / inspiration?
theres tons of greek gods with a stronger body type, basically like Apollos, so why him?
Well, Ambrose is not (just) trying to be strong. One of Apollo's epithets was "Apollo Acersecomes," meaning (literally) "Apollo of the unshorn hair," but more generally referring to Apollo as eternally between 18 and 20 years old, with the long, uncut hair of a Grecian youth who has not yet achieved manhood.
This is all to say, in my mind Apollo's beauty is connected to that boyish, white, twinklike ideal that trans men can sometimes find themselves help up against (or can internalize for themselves as their transition goals). Apollo is not just strong and athletic, but he is puckish, lithe, eternally youthful, and intelligent. All of these qualities cause Ambrose to try and craft himself around that impossible (yes, even for cis men) eternally boyish masculine ideal, instead of the more healthy, Vincent-y stance of seeing aging and the natural variance in male body types not as flaws, but as a space for him to self-actualize.
This is partially a relic of when Ambrose was much more focused on never aging (becoming a work of art that will never deteriorate, etc) than he is in the present draft. But it's all part of the same thorny knot of what happens when someone really internalizes the idea that there's only one way to be a man (and to be desirable as a man).
I hope that helps!

Hello ♥︎ I have a couple of questions to ask you since you are well informed about the Law and Neville and I love and trust your interpretation of it very much!
There is a lot of information about the truth behind life, death and many realities and such. There are concepts such as astral projection, the spiritual realm, The Divine Council, reincarnation, spiritual families and such, and I am utterly lost and confused. I don't simply just want to shift realities and manifest consciously, but also to know the truth about everything through these things.
Here are my questions:
- Which of these things I mentioned above do you believe is true? If you believe in things like astral projection and such, how do you believe that it ties in with the Law?
- What are your personal beliefs regarding all of this? And why? Do you believe so because Neville mentioned it or is it a LOA belief or experience gained through manifesting?
- What did Neville say about what happens after death? What did he elaborate on regarding these subjects?
- There are many people in the LOA who believe that we as God and the Creator choose to come down here to have a human experiences, and when we die we will go back to Source. Do you believe in this? Could you please expand more on this? Like do you think that this will happen for all of eternity or what is the end goal of this? What even is Source?
I genuinely hope that this didn't come off as demanding or entitled, because that was truly not my intention! I simply want to discuss these important topics with an informed person as I feel like the rest of the community discards these topics in order to talk about the manifestation part, although I am genuinely interested in knowing what lies beyond this life. Thank you so much 💜
I will be completely honest with you; I am not familiar with most of the concepts that you've mentioned aside from Neville-based ones. I grew up in a Coptic family and while I don't necessarily identify as a Coptic Christian anymore I still do share some of my beliefs with them. Neville Goddard did not see death as the end of life, he viewed death as a transition to a higher level of consciousness, and the afterlife or heaven as a state of consciousness that mirrors your inner world. I agree with Neville. I truly wish I could answer more of your questions, but part of being an educator is also admitting when you don't know something.

Star Wars Visions - Journey to the Dark Head Thoughts and Analysis
"I'm sorry. This was a waste of time. You were right. No matter what we do, it won't end. There's no way to stop this war. And even if we did, it doesn't matter. Another would just arise." Ara (아라)
"Nothing is fixed. Light and dark will always coexist. And if nothing is set in stone, that means there will always be hope. We are always caught in the tide of uncertainty, but the next wave carries as much hope as it does despair. Ara, I actually needed this mission. And I think you did too." Toul (토울)
Journey to the Dark Head is really special to me. Seeing my culture represented in Star Wars warms my heart. As a Korean-American, it's special to see Korean voice actors as the main dub and talent in Star Wars (another reason why I'm so excited and hyped to see the Acolyte!). Alongside Ninth Jedi, I hope this short gets its own show (the team in Studio Mir's Radio Talk even mentions how they have many ideas for the universe of Journey to the Dark Head!). This is my dedicated piece for Asian American & Pacific Islander Heritage Month (I know this is very late but a lot was going on preventing me from completing this earlier).
The focus setting of the short is the world of Dolgarak, a world home to two giant statues known as the Statues of prophecy, during the Old Republic Era (a reminder that Visions is non-Canon but it seems like it took place during this Era). The Hanbok-inspired outfits in the opening are amazing. We see a group of kids from a community of Force Oracles, beings who read prophecies when the stones of the temple experienced rainfall, stepping into the temple. Ara sees a prophecy as the rain drops on the rocks: Three figures in a duel. An Interpreter is there to record the prophecies into the record...a practice that Ara questions after seeing a prophecy said to take place in the future. She wants to deliver their information to the Jedi at which the Interpretator points out that they're not Jedi. Star Wars has delved into how visions can often be misleading despite having truth in them. Something which the Interpreter seems to be aware of than Ara at the moment. The theme of war as a cycle and how they come and go. The community keeps records of conflicts and prophecies so they can be read...and hopefully from my interpretation of the goal to prevent the cycle from repeating by learning about them. However, the idealist Ara just can't believe that their life is just a part of a never-ending cycle. Then she wonders...could the war end by cutting off the Dark Head?
(Fun Fact: my blog's banner is taken from the Hangul-inspired language shown in this short!)
"There is much you don't understand. War and conflict are constants. They are both built on the sands of time, which will continue to ebb and flow for all eternity. And their record remains on these stones. We read and keep their record." Interpreter
As the short transitions to the modern day, we see a hopeful pilot, Ara, and a disillusioned Jedi, Toul. Ara still believes that by cutting off the Dark Head, the war will finally turn against the Sith as she appeals to two members of the Jedi Council. One Jedi Master senses that approving the mission is the right course of action despite another Master's low opinion of this theory. With Toul being sent to go with Ara, the Master senses how it's destiny for him.
We see Toul trying to mediate as he remembers the day his Master was killed. Bichan (비찬), the Sith Lord with a Korean mask-influenced helmet and a Lightsaber with a chain, seeks to turn Toul into his apprentice after seeing the rage in him. Bichan left behind a "parting" gift in the form of a scar. Interestingly, visually Bichan shares similar facial similarities with Ara. The creators and team behind the show confirmed that he and Ara are the same species native to Dolgarak. The markings are based on the Haechi.
Toul when awoken displays a dark view of the point of mediating when the Sith will come for them anyway to kill them. The fear has taken hold of him as he doesn't have much to hope for. When the two finally meet...to say their respect for each other is low would be an understatement. Ara doesn't view Toul as what she imagines a Jedi to be (calling him a "kid" even though they're very likely around the same age but Ara is actually slightly taller than him) and even states how he should at least pretend to be one. Vice versa, Toul believes Ara's idea to be a foolish endeavor. As the two make a quick pit stop at an Asteroid City's Black Market, Ara buys supplies for their mission (I love how the team said they were able to keep the Goolbi-looking bombs in despite the runtime)...however as Toul spots a group passing by, he spots Bichan who muses something familiar nearby.
Once they reach Dolgarak, they're attacked by Bichan who is after the Statues of prophecy as well. As the two struggle to both survive in a tense high-speed sequence, Bichan taunts Toul about the Jedi sending Toul alone to be confronted by him. The teamwork and trust Ara and Toul display to each other despite their troubles with one another shows what they truly think of each other underneath. The action in this sequence is Studio Mir at their best: the exaggerated movements in the Lightsaber duel, the launching of the bombs, and the frantic pace of the camera. All the while, Bichan speaks to how futile their attempts to stop the Sith are with the Statues revealing the interconnecting nature between the Light and Dark Sides of the Force.
A major theme in this short is the cycle of Star Wars. We all know the usual story: Jedi vs Sith. A cycle between the two brings chaos and death across the galaxy. It's a seemingly never-ending conflict as the representation between the Light and Dark Sides of the Force clash. Ara's drive is the belief that destroying the Dark Head would finally end this seemingly eternal cycle. However, just as she's finally about to bring an end, both heads illuminate both light and dark. The Light and Dark Sides of the Force, for better or worse, are forever interconnected. With this realization, she sees Bichan incapacitating Toul with his chain...and realizing she's the third figure in the vision. Not wasting a moment after realizing this, she redirects her bombs to Bichan who uses the Force to send them into the air...which Ara activates them to clear the skies. All the while, Toul realizes why the Master sent him there as his mental Light Side self smiles at his Dark Side self. He realizes there is nothing to be scared and he has to find peace to overcome the darkness inside him. With the light from the bombs blinding Bichan, Toul uses this chance to kill Bichan. I think as Toul fell from the Statues, he made peace himself with a possible death...until Ara calls out and in a beautifully animated sequence saves him as the two parachuted down.
For a while, after they landed safely back at the seemingly abandoned temple, Ara gives into despair and cynicism much like the viewpoints of Kreia and Baylan Sköll about the pointlessness of trying to stop the darkness. However, Toul makes a beautiful point against such despair and cynicism, showcasing his redeveloped idealism and hope. Even if the cycle is seemingly destined to carry on forever, the future is uncertain, and there is always a chance to challenge destiny. Even if the cycle continues again, there will be even more beings with the spark of hope to carry that on. As Snoke once said in The Last Jedi,
"Darkness rises, and light to meet it." Snoke
Toul points out how they both needed this mission to finally see that and Ara has a spark of genuine hope come back as she decides to continue the fight with Toul...with a little banter about Ara's crashed ship with whose fault it was. One can imagine how far their friendship will go in their fights against the Sith.
A story about two beings trying to find hope in a seemingly never-ending conflict. It's fascinating to explore the side where it's acknowledged how the cycle of Star Wars can wear down on people. Yet we see why they should never stop fighting for what's right and good despite the possibility of the cycle restarting again.
As this short ends, I get so much happiness seeing a story ripe with potential for more. I really wish we get to see a show following Ara and Toul. Even the creators stated that they had a lot of ideas that could be used in a show based on the short. Ideas such as diving more into the pasts and histories of Ara, Toul, Dolgarak, and even Bichan. Give us that 13-episode series Lucasfilm! Otherwise, this was the best short for me in Visions S2.
Note: The score in this short by Lee Byung Hoon was great! Korean traditional instruments were used in the score which made this short stand out among the other Vision scores.
"You know, we make a pretty good team." Ara
"Let's get back to continue this fight. But we're gonna need a new ship, since you kind of crashed our last one, pilot." Taul
"Uh, what? Are you serious? Well, I wasn't the one who crashed the speeder. That's on you, Jedi. So, I'd say we're even." Ara
"Are you kidding? Crashing a ship is so much worse." Taul
"Oh, for what it's worth, you've definitely destroyed any illusions I had about the mighty Jedi." Ara

notes on TIME. themselves now benoted and referenced out appropriately. much of them just banger quotes from the essay
kintoki (tokiko) (placeholder thought during the swords intro that inherently set up a link between time and castration to me bc i have spent weeks thinking about the meaning of kintoki as the noncastrated ideal/the imposter as such as his prosthetic appearance in mantama) (u may notice thats the same youtuber who did the Comedy video i linked ages ago. i have been getting much mileage out of him.) sword castration - "dispossession disrupts temporality."
takasugicentrism "Takasugi is driving the time loop." (i did talk about this in the tags.)
(everyone else finds ways to move on but gintoki hates to leave ppl behind.
does gintoki respect ppls agency. yes with otose shouyou takasugi. no with all his antagonists and other ppl who want to die? <- still unsure
gintoki simultaneously the witnesserrrrrrr (unacting observer or unflinching observer past where action can help him save someone) and the forgetterrrrrr (sop animation) gintoki doesnt have goals of his own (didnt fight to protect the country but everywhere his sword reaches is his country) (literally just vibing) (this one written at the end of the essay but i was still trying to do the same thing as this section. figure out the gintoki-side of why utsuro-sugi fill the other driving half of the manga. why are they that for him. what ARE gintokis motivations. and do we EVER see his interiority.)
progress/movement in personal time needs personal integration.
(divisibility disproves infinity of personal time; indivisibility in kile ouroboros sense of a perfectly integrated I = noncastrated impossible ideal of infinite personal time?) (post-note: perfectly integrated and indivisible and questionably possible I = line?)
(utsuro resists (could hyperlink the kintoki post again) integration/external impregnation; flip side, shouyou welcomes impregnation but cannot satisfyingly access its results; psychoanal mother 0-1 (from this video)? more gintama preoccupation w the possibility of mtf transitioning?))
when it is fished (unwillingly, I think) out of Takasugi’s eyelid. narrative time cannot move until Takasugi’s eye becomes Gintoki’s sword
(gintoki/takasugi pov [later swapped with shouyou/utsuro pov]) (again my eternal question. why do we get takasugi pov thoughts so many times. and do we ever get gintokis. and what the hell does that mean (evil things). i dont remember what i mean about shouyoutsuro. thinking that any time we see shouyou outside of a shouka sonjuku flashback is more about what utsuro thinks about shouyou than about shouyou? definitely about the final swapping and their weird four-way identity crisis math thing)
Thus half of the loop is about Gintoki always standing up again, always waiting for Takasugi to face him, and the other half of the loop, that is, its motivation, is about Takasugi working up the guts, or whatever he does throughout the series, to finally come at Gintoki* face to face. Gintama doesn’t actually timeskip until Gintoki kills Utsuro in silver soul. Birthing time looks like an escape from the time loop.
(ouro self-fertilization = the way out of ouro [THEORETICALLY])
(cyclical time is measurable -> iterable/buildable)
[koizumi time diagram (not the post but the comment)] <- not actually useful here just my landmark for characters engaging with their own story's fucked up experience of time and getting fun and mathy with it. nonperfectly coherent/stable timeloop with two phases self-satisfiedly diagrams out to linear time briefly intersected by an infinity sign which ive always wanted to use as a model for mapping out more complicated time stories
narrative time twists into defeatist cycles intentionality versus ruination, “I” as capable actor versus “I” as acted upon I cannot act, and yet it acts on me. My despair at the exterior world which rivets me to itself quickly translates to despair in, at, my self. his loss is even more infinite for the narrowness of its scope mathematically irrational (x(sin(1/x))) <- WHOA
part where i basically stopped taking notes and enjoyed the ride lol
(sakamoto "hope" argument -> i have used sakamoto before (very very ending letter monologue abt miracles) as the mouthpiece for gintama merging two paradoxical ideas (idealist pov and materialist pov) to reinforce each other rather than to disprove)

Author Ask Tag
If you know me and my presence here, it should come as no surprise that I love talking about the stuff I write. So, when @mthollowell-writes tagged me in this thing, I wasn't going to say no.
1 What is the main lesson of your story (e.g. kindness, diversity, anti-war), and why did you choose it?
The Clockwork Boy and the series I hope it becomes is a story about unity and collaboration. The forces arrayed against them are considerable, but since both The Spire and The Clockmen are filled with inveterate backstabbers, the scrappy underdog of Jake, Adrian, and The Northwest has a fighting chance, not only for survival but the future of the city. My "thesis" if you will is that The Spire and The Clockmen are doomed to fail in the long run because the glue that holds them together is that the participants can each profit from each other's strength. This means that nobody has an incentive to show weakness, lest they be judged unworthy of the group, and nothing resembling mutual trust can develop. The Northwest and the rest of "team hero," on the other side, rely on each other to compensate for their weaknesses and vulnerabilities which inherently builds trust.
This theme emerged from the place I held in life when writing the initial draft, I believe. I was, and am in many ways still in a fairly vulnerable spot in my life. I am seeking treatment for both physical and mental health problems as well as employment despite challenges in the above-mentioned departments. It's easy for me to feel self-conscious about having to rely on external factors such as doctors and other healthcare professionals, but I have found much solace in the works of the effervescent Philosophy Tube, and one of her older videos, in particular, have shaped this insecurity into some neat thematic stuff in the book I write, for which I am eternally grateful.
2 What did you use as inspiration for your worldbuilding (like real-life cultures, animals, famous media, websites, etc.)?
A lot of the world of Hearts In Clockwork has been inspired by colonial-era Europe, England in particular, but I am aiming more for a wider pastiche than a direct reference. There's also some bits of steam punk aesthetics to the setting, but due to severe disruptions of the coal supply, much of the borderline impossible steam-powered technology is mostly for show.
3 What is your MC trying to achieve, and what are you, the writer, trying to achieve with them? Do you want to inspire others, teach forgiveness, help readers grow as a person?
My main characters are still kind of figuring out their place in the world around them per the last book, so their needs are very personal. Jake wants to belong somewhere and 13/Adrian wants to know who he was before becoming a Clockman, or barring that what kind of a person he wants to be now that he is free. It is my goal to transition these goals into grander goals as the series progresses, as Jake is motivated to oppose The Spire and The Clockmen by his bonds with Adrian and The Northwest, and Adrian attempts to end the conflict brewing in the setting as nonviolently as possible in direct defiance of his original design. I base this progression on the idea that problems, even some problems viewed as personal, might be best solved by trying to change the world in some way. It is a counterargument to the "Clean Your Room"-crowd, I suppose.
4 How many chapters is your story going to have?
The Clockwork Boy currently sits on 24 chapters and one epilog chapter. It's approximately where I want it lengthwise.
5 Is it fanfiction or original content? Where do you plan to post it?
It is original content. My goal is to get it published, preferrably through a smaller indie outfit.
6 When and why did you start writing?
This question is a bit ambigious. If it's when I started writing period, I've done it as long as I've known how to. My motivations have never been entirely clear to me, but I do believe it comes from a need to be seen and heard in some way.
As far as when and why I got into The Clockwork Boy, I started that during National Novel Writing Month in November 2022. My initial motivation was frankly that I hadn't found any genre novels with intrigue, politics and a gay romance in a while, so I decided to try writing one myself.
7 Do you have any words of engagement for fellow writers of Writeblr? What other writers of Tumblr do you follow?
Like Share And Subscribe Seriously though, this is the most useful piece of advice I've ever gotten so I'm going to pass it along:
Your Writing Is Probably Fine, you've just been staring at it for Too Long.
as well as
If it doesn't Feel Like A Book that's just because you recognize that you wrote it. Other readers will not have that problem.

Home stretch
What a weird amalgamation of a week. My trip in May/June felt like a soft transition into “the next phase of my life,” and this the official countdown to it. That Tangled song, “When will my life begin?” (Answer: July 1, 2024) kept popping up in my head, especially when I saw the chameleon charm I got in Madrid (a fitting souvenir, no?).
These past two weeks at home, I’ve continued to walk - I’ve walked a minimum of 10k steps since last Wednesday! (my realistic goal was to do this until 7/1) My average step count over the past six weeks was 11k steps.
During these walks, I couldn’t help but think back to my previous attempt to walk 10k steps/day, a goal that failed miserably and was quite short-lived. During this time, people frequently gave me unsolicited advice on how to exercise, what not to eat, what to change, what would help. Granted, it was with the best of intentions, but I was frustrated nonetheless - did they think I didn’t know exercise was beneficial? Processed sugars were unhealthy?
There were multiple days during the recent trip where I’d walked upwards of 15k steps pretty easily. Such was not the case at home; some days were easier than others, but on the really hot or busy workdays, I did not feel like walking the full 10k steps. But because I’d already started to experience the physical and mental benefits of walking, I found the motivation to continue the streak. Which brought me to my biggest realization this week: telling people the truth isn’t enough, we must bring people to experience the truth.
This applies to so many things besides my walks. “엄마, shop for quality over quantity. Don’t get fooled by a sale or a discount!” This advice elicited a prompt agreement from my mom, but was mostly ignored until she finally splurged on a bear sweater and realized the cost per wear for it was way better than her other mid bargain purchases.
“God loves you so much He sent his one and only son to die in your stead so you can have eternal life.” First of all, this probably sounds like a big load of crock to a non-believer, but even as a seeker turned believer, it took me multiple experiences to finally live in and accept that truth. And each time I go through this cycle with Him, I return to Him more quickly and confidently.
I guess this is very basic knowledge, but it helped me reframe my mindset. No more automatic self-chastisement for not following through with my goals! More thoughts on what is stopping me from experiencing this truth that’s lodged only in my head!
I was somewhat dreading these last two weeks before I left for Boston, but it turned out to be quite a fulfilling and restorative time. NOVA, you were really difficult, but I wouldn’t change my experience for anything!! That being said, it will be so surreal to move back…eternally grateful, humbled, and undeserving.

Pt 3 of my post about my blue boy Enzo. pt one can be found here and pt 2 here. Anything marked with a * will have a note at the end of the post.
Enzo knew war was inevitable after Lee warned him that certain things were beginning to fall into place. He did not enjoy the idea of training his new padawan to be a solider. In 20 bby he lamented that it seems whenever a force sensitive member of his family is born, its during a time of crisis. He did his best to train Ty'kel but found it difficult to balance his duties with the SIS and the jedi order. Thus he made up his mind that once the war was over he was leaving the order.
Enzo survives Order 66 but what he witnessed left its mark on him. With Lee's help, he works to creates a variant of imperial Intelligence for the Order of the Grey, an order of force users who wield both sides of the force founded by Lee on Tython.
A few years after order 66 Enzo met a transmasc Zeltron named Zayne. That same year they had a son together named Akir. Before Zayne had transitioned fully he had worked with the organization I had created to preserve some of his eggs as he wished to have children one day. Enzo adores and cherishes his family. He looks forward to the day that he can teach Akir about their heritage. He asked Lee to be his son's father to which Lee agreed.
However, Enzo foudn that no everyone is permitted to have a happy ending. Zayne had begun working alongside Enzo as a watcher once Akir was old enough to be left alone. While working on a mission in the field together, they were ambushed by a group of Inquisitors. Zayne is killed during the fight, resulting in Enzo drawing on the darkside in a way he had never done before in a sheer fit of rage. This incident left Enzo a single father.
Akir took after his father quite a bit which Enzo actually didn't like. He would have much preferred Akir to take more after Zayne. When Enzo moves his intelligence network from being apart of the Order of the Grey to the reemerging Eternal Alliance*, Akir follows.
Enzo becomes extremely protective of his son due to how young he is...which backfires spectacularly. Akir ends up following his father into the field and falls prey to an imperial neurotoxin based weapon. Desperate to save Akir, Enzo brings him to the nest believing they can save him and they can. Akir becomes the new Dawn Herald of the ever expanding nest.
Enzo feels terrible not getting consent from his son which Akir understands why he did it. As a child he much preferred being around Killiks as they had helped Enzo raise him.
I'm still working out what happens with Enzo during the original movies and what not but after return of the Jedi Akir meets someone. A human girl he had known as a child who he eventually has a child with who they name Zayne Vilkas Vera. This of course makes Enzo incredibly proud to be a grandfather.
*So in my canon my main boy, Lee Starwing alongside some of his closest friends inherited the responsibility of keeping the Eternal Alliance alive. By this stage the Alliances goal is to prevent the past from repeating itself aka preventing another Tenebrae.

I No Longer Rage at Fate
(Paraphrasing the great Alistair Moffat)
As My (mine alone) grasp of this reality becomes some kind of “wisdom,” I see no point.
It’s only life …
Transitioning, Transitioning, Transitioning …I was a teacher; or like a Marine, I will always be a teacher; but what hath this transition wrought three years into this journey? Fate? Destiny? Pre-ordination? Nope! I’ll pass, not happily; but wiser I think. You see I’m recreating my universe. Literally? Well, maybe, if you see and understand your world differently then it’s a new reality for you …right? To paraphrase the Apostle Paul, “when I was a child, I thought as a child, spoke as a child and acted as a child; but when I became a man (retiree) I put away childish things.” Seeing yourself free from the daily constraints of the American work model which forces these constraints of time, dogma and goals on us as it serves the purpose of said system, your mind can open. If you let it.
I’ve been writing a lot of poetry to explain the world according to Brent with a little success; but it’s my world view …mine alone. Nothing in life turned out the way I dreamed way back 1989. Nothing. That’s been a good and bad result; I was kind of an idiot in ‘89. It hasn’t been a total path of pain or anything like that, but there has been pain …and loss. Derp! Isn’t that what Buddha told us? There have been spectacular moments of joy as well, stuff I didn’t expect …at …all. The end result being you plan and work and save and devote time to your family and do the right things old books told you to do and it all ends up a crapshoot. Of course there were acolytes that told me, “it all turned out according to plan just not your plan.” So, there was a preordained destiny, plan laid out for me that I knew nothing about? No, no …I’ll just let that nugget of wisdom go …too cold in its application for me.
In my mind agog with time to contemplate why what is and isn’t, I concluded that it is unknowable and just …is? I guess? Examining numerous books that presented various alternative ways of interpreting realities (Celtic, Indigenous, Eastern, “disavowed” Western spiritual concepts, Pope Francis); I came to a remarkable awareness: there is an eternal and we …be …it! So many less commercial faiths saw this unity in nature clearly. Throw in a little developed philosophy and you realize that every physical thing that has ever existed still exists in us. I taste water that may have been tasted by DaVinci, I breathe air that may have refreshed Elizabeth I, I walk ground that countless others have walked. If this is undeniable, consider this: an organ transplant recipient often adopts behaviors of the organ donor, thus our very being is made up of countless previous beings to make us. Is it logical to assume that these beings influence us in some way? To use a popular saying that I detest …I’m just sayin!
“We come not from small things,”* is a sentiment that Alistair Moffat expressed in a series of books he’s written. The statement doesn’t stand alone, but with astute observation of life on his little Scottish farmstead. He sees all the lives and struggles of a myriad of people who walked the spot that he currently identifies as his property; but with humility acknowledges it’s just at this moment. Moffat observes through amateur archaeology and study of maps that show how hubris resulted in humans attempting to mold the land to suit their will. Silly, silly rabbits. It lasts but for the moment and the agents of change do their thing. We are the agents. Taking conscious and unconscious cues from antiquity and more recent generations. We are all in flux, it’s all new, it’s nothing new. Billions of stars and billions of people are in us lighting our way and as we embellish our realities and say, “look what I did!”
How has this “enlightened “ me? A lot of ways I suppose, I ask why a whole lot less. Time is a man made construct and I find, with varying degrees of success, that I feel more at ease with ancient rhythms than the countdown of days, weeks, months and years. I’m free, again with varying degrees of success, from the need to rage at fate. Things happen for incalculable reasons from infinite influences …how can I hope to understand them all. The reality according to Brent is a truth for as long as I last, then I will be a part of a new existence. The reality according to Brent will become the reality according to who? It’s ok, we’ve done this before.

Module 6
Re-Incarnation
BY EVA GORE-BOOTH
The darkness draws me, kindly angels weep
Forlorn beyond receding rings of light,
The torrents of the earth’s desires sweep
My soul through twilight downward into night.
Once more the light grows dim, the vision fades,
Myself seems to myself a distant goal,
I grope among the bodies’ drowsy shades,
Once more the Old Illusion rocks my soul.
Once more the Manifold in shadowy streams
Of falling waters murmurs in my ears,
The One Voice drowns amid the roar of dreams
That crowd the narrow pathway of the years.
I go to seek the starshine on the, waves,
To count the dewdrops on the grassy hill,
I go to gather flowers that grow on graves,
The world’s wall closes round my prisoned will.
Yea, for the sake of the wild western wind
The sphered spirit scorns her flame-built throne,
Because of primroses, time out of mind,
The Lonely turns away from the Alone.
Who once has loved the cornfield’s rustling sheaves,
Who once has heard the gentle Irish rain
Murmur low music in the growing leaves,
Though he were god, comes back to earth again.
Oh Earth! green wind-swept Eirinn, I would break
The tower of my soul’s initiate pride
For a gray field and a star-haunted lake,
And those wet winds that roam the country side.
I who have seen am glad to close my eyes,
I who have soared am weary of my wings,
I seek no more the secret of the wise,
Safe among shadowy, unreal human things.
Blind to the gleam of those wild violet rays
That burn beyond the rainbow's circle dim,
Bound by dark nights and driven by pale days,
The sightless slave of Time’s imperious whim;
Deaf to the flowing tide of dreams divine
That surge outside the closed gates of birth,
The rhythms of eternity, too fine
To touch with music the dull ears of earth—
I go to seek with humble care and toil
The dreams I left undreamed, the deeds undone,
To sow the seed and break the stubborn soil,
Knowing no brightness whiter than the sun.
Content in winter if the fire burns clear
And cottage walls keep out the creeping damp,
Hugging the Old Illusion warm and dear,
The Silence and the Wise Book and the Lamp.
Eva Gore-Booth takes us on a journey in her poem of what it could feel like to experience reincarnation. The protagonist details of slowly watching everything fade away, including herself, as she feels herself passing on to the afterlife. “The world’s wall closes round my prisoned will,” is a metaphor for how trapped she feels, unable to further see the starry sky, the glistening waves, the grassy hills. She eventually goes on to accept her descendence, feeling satisfied with what she has seen, what she knows, and accepts that she will not be going further, as Time has decided that hers is up - she is “the sightless slave of Time’s imperious whim.” This is to represent that none of us have a say in how much time we get in this world, that “Time” is a dictator and will decide it for us. She then ascends back to reality, ready to start her fresh life anew.
Gore-Booth’s use of imagery really helps the reader to visualize each stage that the protagonist is passing through on her journey. You can almost picture the “star-haunted lake” and the “dewdrops on the grassy hill.” You can almost hear the “wet winds that roam the countryside” and the “flowing tide of dreams divine.” Her description of dark nights and pale days almost compares the transition to be similar to that of seasons changing. She writes “Bound by dark nights and driven by pale days, The sightless slave of Time’s imperious whim” which is symbolic of her feeling trapped in a long, cold, dark winter away from everything she loves and knows.

That’s why Mrs. O reviews are so good. They are detailed but never overdecorated with words. While the former should give enough food for thought, the latter may leave readers with a feeling that there’s nothing more to expect from the story.
If I may add, Galileo’s preview is indeed a pleasant surprise as it raises hopes of Ikevamp’s writing Renaissance. The symbolism behind the choice of flowers is so poetic and clever if we dig a little deeper into the meaning of helichrysum.
In ancient Greece there were numerous legends about strawflowers. They were woven into crowns of Apollo and Athena statues to represent their immortality. Nausikaa used helichrysum essence to remain eternally beautiful. The myths, however, called helichrysum the ‘sun flower’, for it was ‘as powerful as the Sun and as valuable as gold’. And this is such a brilliant reference to Galileo who spent his life defending Copernican heliocentrism and solar rotation. E pur si muove. And yet it moves. The Sun was Galileo’s life, and it was his death as well.
Another interesting thing to mention, in my country we call this flower ‘bessmertnik’, the rough translation of which would be eternal flower. And the first thing that comes to my mind is how Vlad and Comte view themselves and other vampires as flowers that never wilt. Interpreting Helichrysum as the allegory of the vampire world can be further proved by Galileo himself, when he says that
These white ones came as a fluke from a university cultivation program, not the color they wanted at all.
Probably, it’s me overthinking things, but I get strong ‘vampire symbolism’ vibes from this sentence. As it’s heavily implied in the game lore, vampirism is not something all the residents are proud of. Most of them, if not all, view their revival as a sacrifice and a sin rather than a happy coincidence. This is something they didn’t want to become but had no choice to avoid because of destiny and an unfinished goal everyone of them had to accomplish. In some way, lesser vampires are indeed an unnatural mutation that was never meant to occur if not for *cough* a squabble between two old friends.
The question is why Galileo identifies himself with this flower?
To begin with, we aren’t even sure whether Galileo is a vampire or not. Of course, there are some posters where he is depicted with blood covering the corners of his mouth, but I wouldn’t base my opinion solely on those images. After all, Sebastian route contained the same image of him acting as a vampire although it..let’s say, it was a little bit different for the butler.
But since we see Galileo emphasising with the vampire flower, it’s not unreasonable to assume that he does have something in common with them.
As of now, we haven’t really learned a lot about misalliances among the purebloods. Even if one of Galileo’s parents was a pureblood and the other one - mortal, I doubt that it could lead to numerous variations in terms of vampire genetics.
Pureblood blood is extremely powerful. Therefore, it can possibly overshadow human one, thus leading to a child being born as a pureblood vampire. Another option - he becomes a dhampir but with a much longer lifespan than lesser vampires have. And here I use the dhampir term in its original way of describing a baby of a vampire and a human. Why? Because Ikevamp messes with terms a lot, therefore dhampires in the game are actually way weaker than lesser vampires (beginning of Napoleon's route). They are more ‘human’ in terms of their habits and basic needs (especially food), their life span is shorter, but they can go through transition into lessers if they drink enough blood.
The most intriguing part here is Galileo assumingly serving as a vampire hunter (kudos to game designers who firstly blew my mind with the moon symbolism of the evil trio and now do this with Galileo and Drake costume design).
Why would he do that, if he is a vampire himself?
To my knowledge, there aren’t any tales about pureblood vampires becoming a vampire hunter, and there're very few of them featuring ex-humans who got turned and became hunters. Zero Kiryu, I’m looking right at you
However, I think I’ve seen enough previous of the new characters to feel that Galileo somehow distances himself from vampires through the paradigm ‘me - you’. He pities them but in a very squeamish manner, mentioning how their (not ‘our’) existence contributes to various anomalies and turbulences in the world.
Therefore, it seems logical to assume that Galileo may be a dhampir who objects his origins and relates mostly to his ‘human’ side. When Mitsuki has a dream (?) about meeting a stranger and seeing his past, she hears him being called out as a ‘sinful monster’ in prison. My guess is that Ikevamp writers will turn the Galileo affair from ‘heretic against Church’ to ‘heretic vampire against church’. Therefore, him saying that he was imprisoned because of the blood can explain why he hates the idea of lessers being turned after their death. Because he hates that other part of him he didn’t choose to obtain. It also makes his preview dialogue with Napoleon way more deeper, considering that Leon is a dhampir himself and doesn’t know anything about how it happened.
Anyway, I’m so excited for the new routes to come. Thank you, Mrs. O, for making my mind boil 🌙
Galileo Galilei - White Day
"These are for you."
MC is startled when out of nowhere Galileo offers her a bouquet of white flowers, wrapped in paper. (I see that wrapping job there sir, nice attempt at casual) They're very beautiful, she can't help thinking, but she's a bit baffled by the gesture - especially given his usual, standoffish demeanor.
She asks why he's giving these to her, and Galileo reminds her how she gave him chocolates last month, right?
He's merely returning the favor. She hadn't had any expectations that he might, but she's happy regardless.
Aloud, she laughs a little. "You're a conscientious person too," she tells him. (Echoing the way he'd called her that for gifting him Valentine's chocolate as an apology for using his telescope without permission in their very first story)
"I just don't want to be in anyone's debt," he replies.
She gladly accepts the flowers and remarks on how beautiful they are, but she's not familiar with what kind they are. He tells her he's not sure of all the specifics but they're a type of helichrysum - although usually those come in bright colors. These white ones came as a fluke from a university cultivation program, not the color they wanted at all. (AM I THE ONLY ONE READING SOME HEAVY SYMBOLISM HERE?)
He says when he heard they were just going to be tossed, her words came to mind. (How she'd mentioned, when they first met, that she felt like even chance encounters can have meaning) And with her having said something like that, he thought she would treasure these new flowers.
She's kind of silently stunned he remembered her words like that.
"You can throw them away if you have no need of them. Do as you please," Galileo tells her offhandedly.
"No!" she gasps. "I'll take good care of them!"
Galileo just does an about face at that and walks off without another word...but as he goes, the last glimpse she catches of his expression seems softer.
Back at the mansion on the balcony, she's looking at the flowers again and musing how they look like she's holding shooting stars in her hand. Maybe the same thing had occurred to Galileo, which is why he wanted to save the flowers? Because he seems to love the stars so much.
She stares up at the night sky, thinking about his still unseen heart.

MRS. O'S TINFOIL HAT RAMBLINGS:
I already blathered a bit in tags o a different post about the flower symbolism, but let me do it again. These are white strawflowers, which are also known as helichrysum, fyi.
Very lovely, and they dry and remain almost perfectly preserved, hence some of their other names: Everlasting, or Immortelle. They symbolize eternal life or immortality - but also something 'always remembered' and some take it a step further and go with 'eternal love'. Usually they come in many different colors of pinks and reds, or white with bright yellow centers.
This has me side-eyeing things so hard though because the very first story we ever got of his involves MC wandering the Timey-Wimey Hallway, being called and cajoled by a sexy voice she later figures out is Galileo's, and she gets to witness a bit of his past and his imprisonment. Drake's story definitely was just a normal, meet-cute on the street style, nothing as mystical as timewalking. I have a feeling this is going to feature prominently in his stories, along with the heavy emphasis that there is no such thing as a random meaningless encounter.
BUT ALSO, here's heavy tinfoil time! Maybe I'm looking too hard but the symbolism doesn't escape me here of him identifying with and feeling empathy towards these white flowers that symbolize eternity (all pale colored, much like our hero, no??) that are an unwanted accident. A misfire of genetics that's only good to be tossed away and culled. I STAND BY MY DHAMPIR/ HALF-PUREBLOOD THEORY.

"In the last several years there’s been a sharp and disturbing increase in the darkness of the imagery being used in film, television, and music. The landscape has become increasingly sinister,” Woods continued. “And in some cases, even demonic in tone. More so than in previous years. Sometimes subliminal. Oftentimes overt. Storylines involving the occult, witchcraft, demons, and even Satanic elements are commonplace in mainstream programming. Many feature spiritually and psychologically disturbing content.”

Prologue

~(Y/N) P.O.V~
The dark corridors were lit by torches lining the walls, leading straight to heavy ornate wooden doors. I stood before the doors with my father, shaking with nerves as I let out a breathless sigh, before gathering the courage to look towards the handsome matured lord.
“Papa…what if he decides that he doesn’t want me?” She softly inquired. The man quietly laughed, with pure amusement shading his golden eyes. Those ethereal golden eyes a signature trait of the Castellan bloodline descendants.
“My dearest (Y/N), how could he not desire you above all others?” He sweetly cooed, seemingly so certain of his words. Still I cast papa an uncertain look and he softly sighed before fixing me with a gentle stare.
“Little one…the Master has never selected a bride before. Yet, he himself specifically chose you to be his wife, did he not?”
The man gave out an inquiring hmm as he gazed softly at me. I let a slight smile crack through my composed face. ‘Never let them see what you truly feel or think’ I mused to myself; ‘I suppose I can let my papa see though.’
Papa smiled brightly in the softly lit walls.
“Such a stunning young lady.” My papa states proudly. He’s always been a proud man, especially when it comes to me, his only daughter.
I am not the only girl from my ancient noble bloodline, but I was the only one out of all the young eligible ladies of my family, that received the Master’s immediate undivided attention. He did not seem to care at all for his bride Lady Viktoria, even as she stuck close to him practically breathing down his neck. He seemed vexed and annoyed in fact. Constantly sending her away to do something else, so that he and I could have privacy.
The master was a intimidating presence to say the least. He was tall and deliciously handsome, but a dark and dangerous look always seemed to dominate his angelic face. However, not with me. ‘Never with me.’ I thought wistfully. When he’s with me he’s soft, loving, patience, kind, understanding, funny, playful, and the list goes on. Truly shocking sites to bear witness to at first, considering all the horrors that I’ve heard people to dare whisper through the halls of my family’s castle about the Master.
I was pulled from my mind wandering state by a delicate wanton message. It called to me, washing my entire body with heat and desire.
“I belong solely to you, my truest. Soon you shall belong to me”
‘My Lord Love.’ A relaxed smile blossoming across my shining lips as my eyes slipped shut to bask in his voice.
“It is time, my dearest (Y/N)” I hear my papa’s voice.
My eyes snapped open to zero in on my papa’s face and I take in his knowing look. He knows, as he’s seen first hand the deep affections the Master holds solely for me. Papa knows he won’t have to worry for me. He knows I’ll flourish by my Lord Love’s side. He knows. He knows. He knows.
I straighten my posture and face as the doors begin to open to the night church. There he stands, so regal and handsome. Dark brown hair styled to perfection and the bluest of blue eyes that exploded with light as he lays them upon my queenly figure. He large smile stretches across his face as he locks his sight and attention on me.
I begin the slow march down the darken aisle between the pews of important lords and ladies. I can see my family and members from the other three prominent families. I see Lady Viktoria in all her jealousy and envy. ‘Certainly, no one wears desperation and jealousy the way your do Viktoria.’ I snicker away in mind, with genuine amusement.
My internal laughter is joined by the master’s laughter not a moment to soon. My eyes cut back to his, only for me to bear witness to a large smirk and the loud mischief lurking in his beautiful irises. ‘Behave, my truest.’ He teased inside my head.
‘I would have thought my master would like my naughtiness?’ I quipped, immediately receiving a pleasure full growl back as I finally stand before him. He gazes at me for a long moment before his eyes harden towards my papa. He wants papa to hand me over quickly, and thankfully my papa takes the silent demand in stride.
My papa guides my body to up the 2 steps to my lord and I hastily stretch my hand out, and the master snaps his hand out to clasp mine softly, yet tightly in his hand. His pulls my body up against his side and nuzzles his nose into my right temple, his lips just barely caressing my hairline. I relax and lean into the intimate display of affection before he slowly pulls back. He lets out a pleased sigh as he looks to the priest and gives the man a commanding nod to commence with the vows.
“Do you, Lord Walter De Ville, take Lady (Y/N) Castellan to be your lady and wife; commencing from this day forth for all eternity?” The priest asked.
“I do, absolutely.” He longingly states, whilst gazing into my golden eyes with unadulterated rapture.
“And do you, Lady (Y/N) Castellan, take Lord Walter De Ville to be your lord and husband; commencing from this day forth for all eternity?”
“I do, with all my heart.” I saying without any trace of hesitation, my damp golden eyes never straying from Walter’s intense stare.
Walter smiles at me as he releases my hand from his, to quickly drag his left index claw down the inside of his right wrist. He sweetly caresses the right side of my hair, pushing it out of the way, with his fingers as he pushes his bleeding wrist up to my lips.
“Here, my truest. Drink to your heart’s content…” He whispers, somewhat desperately with anticipation. I gently grasp his wrist in both my hands, as I swiftly wrap my lips around the wound and begin drinking. It so warm and sickening sweet, and I can’t get enough of it. I start to suck hard as I feel the need and desire pull in my nether regions, and the pleasure threatens to slip over as I teeter on the edge of ecstasy.
The same ecstasy I felt that night after the starlight ball, when he pulled me through the gardens and pinned me to a statue in a secluded area. He kissed with such passion that it was all devouring and suffocating, and I never wanted to stop. Certainly not when he pushed my dress upwards and wrapped one of my legs around his waist to grind his hard length against my heat. Most definitely not when he shoved his fingers into my smalls to caress my drenched wetness. I wanted to cry out into his wrist now, the very same way I cried out and whimpered into his mouth that night in the garden.
His low moan pulled me from my memory as I cast a side glance to his face only to feel my mouth grow slack at the sight before me. His face contorted in pure pleasure as he tilted his head back and his mouth falls open in another sinful moan. His beautiful fangs peaking through causing me to feel a warm fuzziness in my bosom and a slickness to gather in my smalls. He pulls his head back down to look at me as I once more tighten my jaws around his wrist.
He lovingly cradled the back of my head as he nuzzled into my hair, sending shivers all the way from the top of my spine to the base of it, as I feel him pant a moan into my ear. “Very good, my truest. Our eternity is just within our reach.”
I can feel it beginning to spread throughout my entire body and finally release his bloody wrist from my lips. It feels like nothing and everything at the same time. I couldn’t decide if the pain was hellish or heavenly. It was chasing to keep up with the blood rushing through my veins while my heart began to fall behind. Then, the dull ache set into my teeth and nails, feeling both grow and elongate in length. Then everything and nothing froze in place. My heart gave one last weak and long thump. The feeling of my heart stilling with its cage of bones was irrelevant compared to the feeling I receive when my eyes startle open to rest on my newlywed husband.
His eyes gave me a inquisitive and tense once over before he laughed and dove down to capture my lips within his. Cheers and applause sounded throughout the dim-lighted church and it was then I remembered that it wasn’t just the two of us. That fact didn’t even matter then, especially when my lord love pressed his tongue pass my lips and fledgling fangs to deepen the kiss and taste his essence coat the inside my mouth.
We reluctantly pulled from one another to stand and face our subjects. They all bore smiles, some fake I’m sure, but for the most part seemed genuine. I could respect Lady Victoria for that at least. She didn’t hide her true feelings behind pretty words and false smiles about the Master and I’s marriage. Her face twisting even more in disdain and envy with the Master’s next words, that he never once uttered for her.
“Hail my wife and queen, Lady (Y/N) de Ville!” He roars, soaking in the cheers and applause of our subjects. He looks to me once more with a victorious smile, whilst cupping my jaw in his hand and places a domineering kiss on my lips. I cannot help but press myself into his side and keen in wanton delight as I savor the taste of his lips and blood.
He hovers his smiling lips over mine and playfully nips at them, “Forever and always my truest love. Let it be my unbreakable vow from my soul to yours.”
“Forever and always, my king.” I swore back in hushed tone.
