Rook's been knocking at the window randomly for weeks before finally getting (accidentally) invited in And he's probably awake during daytime too because why not, the trickier to move around the funnier ! So turns out Jason isn't a revnent or a halfa or a even a zombie no Jason is the ghost equivalent of a vampire

Now this hasn't affected him really because he's been in such ecto rich areas every breath he got some

But due to the fact that it's poor quality ecto and it's not the optimum way to consume it he's constantly titering on the edge of a rage filled hunt for ecto

It also means he doesn't have any ghostly powers on account of he is literally always on the dge of starving

Now jason was fine with this because A he didn't know and B there's very few ecto rich people in gotham most of them being in his family

But those two facts changed when some guy came to him asking to stay and offering his blood in exchange

Now jason normally without hesitation would say no but a deep deep part of him is screaming to say yes to take it to drink so deep

even though he seems to have objections about the vampiric diet, really it feels like he's playing it up, acting in line with the human morals he's "supposed" to have (killing & eating people is wrong)

of course there's nothing he could really do about it, but daniel literally sits there and watches a guy get escorted off to be lunch for armand and only has some short jabs about it in response

he's even curious about it all, another thing he can add to his book

really, his priority is always his book and his own life. i do wonder how he would've reacted to someone being killed in front of him (since the fox seems to disturb him), but it's clear by the time he's speaking with louis in the finale he has no issue with taking lives to feed himself. imo it's something that was present and lurking within him for a long time before becoming a vampire

Caleb: I can’t be your conscience, Helena. That sort of willpower has to come from within.

Helena: [mutters dejectedly] You say that like it’s easy.

Caleb: Of course it isn’t easy. But it is possible.

Helena: I nearly killed him. She wanted me to go all the way and I almost did.

Caleb: You restrained yourself in the end.

Helena: Only to sit back and watch her finish the job!

Caleb: You’re hardly alone in that regard.

Helena: She tried to push you too?

Caleb: [meditatively] There’s no such thing as a good vampire. You’ll make mistakes, which is why you shouldn't strive to be perfect, just better. The point of no return is to stop believing you can be better.

Helena: I need to understand her — and why you stay with her. Caleb, where did all this begin? I tried to ask how she became a vampire, but she only told me to talk to you.

Caleb: [cagily] I’m not sure it’s my story to tell.

Helena: But she never will, and doesn’t it involve you as much as her?

Caleb: [after a moment’s silence] Focus on my thoughts.

Helena: I’m still not very good at this.

Caleb: Come closer. Physical touch strengthens the bond. Relax, Helena. Close your eyes. Let me show you.

You know a horse is a big animal even when you see them from afar in the fields you know they are tall. Yet when you get up close one you still can't help but think "damn that's a big guy"

All this to say I completely forgot this mf is 1m95 but hey c'mon Elias Rook wasn't trying to undermine you ! It's just a pleasant surprise to him since Elias tends to avoid Rook as much as he can outside of his animal magic shenanigans (in which he often gets caught by Rook and ofthen when he's a small not that cool critter, sigh...)

Anytime i see people arguing over who is worse between lestat and armand i sigh because they're BOTH awful. They're literally mirrors of eachother. 2 men so desperate for love and attention they'll do literally anything to keep it. The way they approach things is the only thing thats different. Lestat is all physical, picking Louis up and dropping him from the sky and having his lover force claudia to drink what he thinks is poisoned blood. While Armand is more mental, he gets into Louis head and changes things around. He lets the coven take the blame for claudias death, letting Louis think he had nothing to do with it. Its actually really interesting how they treat Louis because it's almost exactly like their hunting techniques, Lestat being brutish while Armand manipulates their mind.
