✮⋆˙. Synopsis: Ino takuma x gyaru/gyaruo relationship headcannons
✮⋆˙. Content warning: non yandere, jealousy mention. maybe ooc ino?? He's kinda,, just a guy.
✮⋆˙. A/N: I wish it was 2020 again I have new ways to ruin my life.
Tumblr media
• Ino hasn't dated much, maybe out on a couple of dates and mixers, but it had never led to anywhere serious or long-term due to him being a sorcerer. So he's ecstatic to have a total babe like you into him. Especially if you're the one who's making the moves on his giddy ass. With the way he's head over heels over you, you might think your his first relationship.
• The more time you spend together, the more you kinda rub off of him. If you ever use gyaru slang around him or if he's eavesdropping on you while you chat with your friends, he's quick to pick it up and add it to his own vocabulary.
• You rub off of him so much that he lowkey borrows some of your gyaruo magazine archives. He probably won't dress up in gyaruo unless he feels like matching with you.
• Probably accidentally texted Nanami: "Your little boy toy misses you~~~ (*ゝω・*)" into his dms, thinking he was replying to you while trying to mimic your cute emoticons.
• Nanami did in fact NOT miss him.
• But mostly, it's a cover-up for him to snag a magazine so he can use it as a guide for getting you presents. Even then, he's so into that matching couples thing that it's kinda sick. He knows he bagged a dreamboat like you, and now it's everyone's problem. You seriously got him swinging his feet while he's texting you. (ewwww)
• Would put you in his Instagram bio, and bling up his cellphone to match yours. He's so in love with you that it's sorta overbearing to anyone around you. You guys are the 'IT couple' at that point.
• If you're a gal that likes getting your nails down, he likes tagging along just so he can foot the bill cause one, he loooooves you. Two, it makes him feel manly, and it's an ego boost. (Even if you're a guy yourself)
• If you're a gyaruo, your wardrobe is kinda his now, sorry. He's kinda been biting your style since you've been dating him. New jacket? Mind if he borrows that? Oh, by the way, he took one of your belts this morning. Hope you don't mind!
• I'd argue that Ino is a pretty confident guy who's secure. But whenever you go out to those gyaru & gyaruo hangouts, he feels a little jealousy forming in his stomach.
• Especially if your *super* close with them, his heart literally falls out of his ass. What if you just decide one day to dump him because he doesn't match your style? What if you met your soul mate who matches you completely? Fashion sense and all.
• He always thought of himself as your other half, your cherry on top of your ice cream sundae, your teddy bear, your boo thang.
• PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE don't dump him, a total babe like you has completely changed his type. Nobody will ever amount to you. Forget whatever his type was before, his literal type is you.
• Ino himself would never admit this or say it out loud, but he lowkey dreams about a stereotypical gyaru/gyaruo wedding with you.
• Even if you mention it as a little joke, or simply just playing around with the idea of it. He seems to be a little *too* interested..

Tumblr media
The winter chill has settled over Brooklyn, New York, covering the streets in a layer of pristine snow. School has just gotten out for winter break and it seems like the crime has died down a bit, so Miles hasn't really had anything to do. Feeling a bit restless, he glances out of his window at the snowy world below. With a sigh, Miles reaches for his phone, deciding to make his day more interesting and text his best friend, Y/N.
Miles: "Yo, you busy?"
You were in your home, lounging in your room as you scroll on your phone. A notification shows up at the top of your screen and you see it's a message from Miles. You look at the text you received and raise an eyebrow, curious as to why he was asking.
Y/N: "Nah, I'm free right now. What's up?
Miles: "You wanna hang out? I'm bored..."
Y/N: "Yeah, I'm down. What did you have in mind?"
Miles: "Dunno, we could just chill at my house?"
You sigh at his suggestion, rolling your eyes and shaking your head.
Y/N: "I'm tired of being inside, I wanna go out somewhere. How 'bout that ice skating place that just opened a few weeks ago?"
Miles had to pause, contemplating on whether or not to go. But he decided that if it made you happy, he wanted to take you there.
Miles: "Sure, I'm down. You better not be scared to go ice skating."
His reply sounded as if he was mocking you.
Y/N: "Speak for yourself. They don't call me Ice Queen for nothin'😉❄️"
Miles couldn't help but chuckle.
Miles: "Sure, Miss 'Ice Queen'. Let's do this."
Fifteen minutes later, you and Miles are walking down the snowy streets, heading towards the ice skating rink. While walking, the cold surrounded you two, a slight breeze causing Miles to wince and rub his arms a bit.
"Dang, it's kinda cold out here." He says, looking over at you, presuming you were also cold.
"What? You can't handle a little chill?" You ask teasingly, hiding the fact that you are chilly as well. Miles scoffs and looks over as his breath is visible.
"You don't look any less frozen than me, Ice Queen." He moves closer to you, rubbing his shoulder against yours in an attempt to warm himself. You laugh sarcastically at his joke and bump his shoulder playfully.
"We're almost there, crybaby," You say, pointing up ahead. Miles was going to give a comeback in response, but he was too damn cold to really care too much.
"Good, I'm freezing my ass off." He admits, his teeth chattering a bit as he speaks. When we get inside, it's still cold but definitely warmer than outside. We head up to the front desk and pay for some rentals before heading over to a bench to put the skates on. Miles struggles a bit with his. He's a bit uncoordinated sometimes, so it takes him some time to actually put them on properly. Although, once he's done, he smiles and looks at you expectantly.
"So? Show me what you got, Ice Queen." He says with a slight laugh. You meet his challenge with a smirk.
"Watch and learn, Morales!" You glide out gracefully onto the ice, noticing that there's not that many people out. Miles shuffles over to the ice, holding onto the wall as he watches you. "See? I know what I'm doing." Miles rolls his eyes playfully at you.
"Sure, keep thinking that. But hey, if you fall, I'll be there to catch you. Sound fair?" He laughs, sounding a bit flirtatious. You laugh in response.
"You wish I would fall!" You shout as you take a lap around the rink. You come back around and Miles is still waiting at the edge of the ice. "Whatchu waiting for, slow poke?" You taunt. He gives you a determined look and steps out onto the ice. Although, before he can even finish taking a step, he falls onto the cold floor, landing on his butt. You skate over to him, holding out a hand. Miles looks up at you, seeming a little bit embarrassed.
"What was that you said about catching me if I fall? Maybe I should've been saying that." You tease as you stifle a laugh. He shakes his head as he grabs your hand and pulls himself up.
"Shut up. I tripped." He insists, obviously lying to himself.
"On thin air, or your ego?" You stick your tongue out tauntingly and start skating forward.
"Thin air, definitely. My ego's still very much in tact, thank you." You chuckle as he catches up, the two of you now gliding on the ice together. Miles is a bit wobbly, but he finds his balance, hoping not to fall on his ass again. You shake your head and hold your hand out to him.
"Here, just hold onto me." You offer with a small smirk on your face. Miles gives you a smug look back, taking your hand and standing upright.
"My hero." He replies mockingly. You roll your eyes and he pulls you closer to him as you both skate forward. "You know, if you wanted to hold my hand, Y/N, you could've just said so." He teases, giving you a wink.
"What? No, I was just being nice. If you wanted to hold my hand, you could've just asked." You retort playfully, giving him a nudge with your elbow. He looks as if he's going to lose his balance for a moment, but then recovers, glaring at you as you snicker at him.
"Uh huh, that's what they all say." He scoffs and you continue to laugh at him. Suddenly, he loses his balance again and he grabs onto your shoulders for support, gasping loudly. He ended up accidentally pushing my back against the railing of the rink. To others it looks like he's just giving me a hug, but he's really trying not to fall again.
"Ah! Miles!" You instinctively grab onto him as you hold him up and you can't help but to giggle. Miles sighs, looking off to the side but it's obvious that he's enjoying how close he gets to be to you.
"You're so bad at this! You almost took us both down!" You exclaim, scolding him jokingly. He leans in close to you and looks into your eyes as your faces are only a few inches apart now.
"Hey. You know, they say that people fall in love when they accidentally fall on each other?" He teases, trying his best to maintain his balance.
"Who said that?" I ask, raising an eyebrow in suspicion.
"Um, I did..." Miles says nonchalantly with a slight grin on his face, as if it was the most obvious thing in the world. You laugh, shaking your head once again at his silliness. But you couldn't help but blush slightly. A smile crept onto his lips as he smirks at you. "Oh? Am I making you nervous?" He asks tauntingly. You clear your throat and shake your head.
"No! I could never get nervous around you. Pft..." You say mockingly, but as you're speaking, your voice cracks a bit.
"Oh, is that so?" The grin on his face grew wider, almost as if he knew you weren't telling the truth about not being nervous. "Well, tell that to the blush on your face." He smirks at you before letting go of your shoulders and skating off, as if he never had any trouble before. You watch him, stunned as he doesn't even look unsteady.
"Were you faking the whole time?!" You shout after him in surprise, skating to catch up with him. He turns to face me as he skates ahead of me, skating backwards now. My jaw drops.
"Me? Fake? Never..." He replies with a smug look. "You know, you're cute when you're shocked."
"Oh don't even- That's not true. You said you couldn't skate!" You deflect, pointing a finger at him. As you catch up to him, he turns back forward, smirking at you.
"Never said that. You just assumed I couldn't because I fell earlier." He points out. "Besides, you're so easy to tease. It was very fun seeing your reaction." Miles chuckles.
"Oh, so now you're calling me easy?" You raise an eyebrow at him, hiding a smile.
"Easy to tease. If you were easy to get, I'd have gotten you a while ago. You're really making me work for it, Y/N." He says slyly, looking at you from the corner of his eye.
"What are you talking about?" I question, rolling my eyes.
"Oh, don't act oblivious now. Since you know everything, I bet you've been playing hard to get and you want me to chase you." He replies confidently.
"Ooh, so you're on to me, now? Hm, I guess you're smarter than I thought." You smirk at him and he seems a bit surprised. "Maybe I do want you to chase me, Miles." You give him a wink and skate ahead again. You had him at a loss for words for a moment, but then he skates after you. You both laugh as he tries to grab you and you dodge him.
As you glide across the ice, you lose your balance. But before you fall, Miles catches you and you two are now inches apart. You both stop in the center of the rink, panting softly. A few seconds pass, but no one makes a move. He looks at you and you look back at him. Then you feel his grip on your waist and he pulls you in a little closer. You can feel his breath on your face. It's as if you are the only two in the rink.
Finally, Miles leans in a little further and kisses you softly on the lips. His lips on yours sends a slight tingle up your spine and you feel your heart beat faster as you kiss him back. His hand moves to the back of your neck and he kisses you deeper, putting more passion behind the kiss.
After a few seconds, he pulls back but he still holds you close. As he moves his head away, he looks at you with a small smile on his face. You gaze at each other, both slightly blushing, but not embarrassed at all. Miles looks as if he's about to say something to you, but he's interrupted by one of the skating rink workers.
"Hey! No stopping in place on the ice! Keep it moving." He tells you both.
"Oh! Right, sorry." Miles says to the man before turning back to you. "Let's get outta here." He suggests, grabbing your hand.
"Yeah, let's go." You respond, as he pulls you to the side of the rink. He looks at you once more before he suddenly kisses your cheek.
"Sorry, couldn't resist." He smiles as he sees you blush again.
"Sure, you couldn't." You roll your eyes, stepping off the ice as Miles follows you.
You both leave the rink and head outside, noticing that the sun has set. The cold air is still a bit chilly on your skin, but it's not too bad. You notice that Miles has gotten you to hold his arm as he walks you home, as if he's not letting you go after the kiss that you two shared.
"So... I guess all that chasing wasn't for nothing then, huh?" Miles raises his eyebrows, smirking at you.
"I guess the chase was worth it. You caught your prize, now what?" You reply playfully, looking up at him. He pulls you a little closer and wraps his arms around you.
"Now, I get to keep it," He says as he kisses you gently on the lips. The world around you blurs as Miles kisses you under the soft glow of the streetlights. The snowflakes gently fall around you, creating a magical atmosphere. It's a moment frozen in time, one that you wish could last forever.
After a while, he breaks the kiss and looks at you. He can't keep his eyes off your face, his smile growing as he holds you in his warm embrace. Suddenly, a gentle breeze causes you both to shiver a bit, but the cold doesn't matter to you. All that matters is that you are there with Miles. The two of you start to walk again, Mile's arm around your shoulder as you walk down the street.

Super fluffy Ethan Winters x reader headcanons
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Notes: this was written in one of my 10 min "i love ethan winters" episodes, more written for me than anyone else, also happy new year
Warnings: established relationship, pure fluff, maybe too much fluff, obsessed bf
Tumblr media
Ethan would like nothing more than to spend the rest of his life with you
Despite the fact that you've been together for a while now he still looks at you like he's experiencing love at first sight over and over again
Celebrates full and half anniversaries of things that aren't even important
"It's the half year anniversary of when you agreed to move in with me!"
".....That's why you got me flowers???"
Loves to see you passionate about things you like
Will listen intently when you talk about literally anything
If you hate someone, he automatically hates them too
Loves doing lovely-dovey, cringey couple things with you
Travelling, cooking and baking together, date night, movie night- just living out his dream romance story with the love of his life
He's an amazing cook i just know it
Makes you breakfast every day
And dinner, if you guys aren't doing out to eat
"How was work today?", you manage to ask before Ethan kisses you hello. "Good, but I couldn't stop thinking about you", he says with a small smile. "Ugh you say that everytime I ask about work...", you say with sarcastic annoyance. "Well it's true" a stupid love-struck grin now creeping onto his face.
His heart just about explodes when ever you do something for him
It could be the smallest thing
Bring him tea or soup when he's sick, tug the blanket up more and kiss his forehead -his body temp gets twice as hot with the way he's blushing
Of course he's very careful driving with you in the car but it is kinda hard to keep his eyes on the road when you're sitting next to him, looking so perfect
Sometimes you catch him casually humming that wedding tune (you know what i mean right)
At least like 70% of the pictures on his phone of you, plus a ton of screenshots of things to buy for you
He could be having a horrible day but seeing you automatically makes him feel better, and any sappy shows of affection from you make his whole week
Cuddling up to you is something he always looks forward to at the end of the each day
Staring into each other's eyes, holding your hand, running his fingers across your face, pressing gentle kisses to your skin and being as close as possible
At this point he has trouble going to sleep without hearing your voice, feeling your touch
Leaves you little notes, informative or just reminders of his love. Sometimes you'll write your response on them and leave them up for him to see later (he totally keeps all the notes you've replied to)
Hugs from behind, giving and receiving
His love for you never stopped growing. At this point it's hard to function without being in some sort of contact with you
He would not be able to handle fighting with you, let alone a break-up (not something you should even joke about, he'll cry)
Loves petnames beginning with "my". Cause that's right, he is yours, completely and utterly.
After one of your friends/acquaintances rather rudely joined the cafe date you and Ethan were on, Ethan's been in an awfully salty mood. Your hand holding his is likely the only thing keeping him from going off on the girl.
All the while she's going on and on about how perfect your relationship is and how unbelievable it is that she "hasn't found the perfect man yet".
"Of course you haven't met the perfect man," you lean in slightly, "I already have him".
Well, that certainly bettered Ethan's mood tenfold. He can only chuckle awkwardly as his face heats up and the corners of his mouth tug upwards. He doesn't say anything as you two continue talking, but you can't help but notice how his grip on your hand tightens, and how his other hand goes to encase it completely, gently toying with your rings with that lovesick look on his face.

I'm aromatic and that's all I've ever told people I'm probably on the ace spectrum but I've never ever once TOLD a person I was ace. I've identified myself with aro and I'm comfortable in it and my identity but every and I mean EVERY person I've known and told about me being aro will tell others and when referencing me to myself says ace. I had a friend who had many labels and I thought they'd understand that I'm aro not ace cause they used they/them and neopronouns but EVERY AND I MEAN EVERY TIME XE INTRODUCED SOMEONE TO ME They'd say I'm ace.
"oh this is dense she's ace"
"I'm actually aromatic"
"same thing".
"I know your so done hearing me talk about dating people and having crush being ace and all"
"I'm aromatic not ace and it doesn't bug me"
"Okay~"
They said "okay" in a weird way and looking back I think they were trying to make me jealous that I can't love and then didn't believe me when I said I didn't care.
This next instance made me never talk about my identity around or with them ever again.
"happy birthday!!!!!"
"I'm finally legal let's GOOOO!"(I just turned AOC)
"don't make jokes about you having sex it make me uncomfortable cuz your ace"
"I'm not ace I'm aro and you know that and you make sex jokes at me all the time and make them with others I can make sex jokes if I want"
"well I don't like it and it's the same thing. you know your just a little baby in my mind which makes it weird hearing you say that and your my best friend so I don't want to think of you with others.
I ghost xem after but reading that almost make me puke. IM, ME AM NOT ALOUD TO MAKE SEX JOKES CUZ U SEE ME AS A BABY CUZ YOU THINK IM ACE AND SEX REPULSED, FUCK YOU.
Another thing is my family, we're a very open family having no problems with pronoun or name changes or being gay the only problem is my aunt married a conservative American
My younger cousin maybe 8 at that point made a gay dating joke after my aunt said something about boys maybe to impress me since I'm 8 years older then him and I told nah that's not me I'm aromatic which means I don't like boys or girls my aunt chimed in saying "we don't need to be talking about this with HIM, he doesn't need to now this "I told her "he is the one that brought it up so he obviously knows and just like how you talk about girls dating boys I could talk about me not dating anyone it makes no difference especially when he is making innuendos. Wait have you even had sex Ed?" "No" he replied, then my oh so fun chimed in saying "he's too young for sex ed it's good he hasn't had in it." "No I'm more surprised he hasn't had sex ed it's important he should have it." "No he's too young" "remember how I was sexually assaulted when I was six and I had no clue what happened to me until I had sex Ed and was told that it was bad and to tell my parent them told my mom and got help do you want him oblivious if it happened to him" "it's different." "How?" He stopped talking and went outside I asked my cousin is he wanted to play Minecraft he said yes so we did that but a few hours later to the bathroom my aunt grabbed me and asked if I was serious about was I said about boys and girls I told her "yes I'm aromatic and don't like boys or girls or anyone like the opposite of being bi." "Are you sure maybe you just haven't met the right person"(I was kinda floored by this she would've said that if I said I like girls) "yes I'm sure I'm seventeen and have never have a crush or ever wanted to be with someone" "but what if one day you fall in love" "and what if one day aliens take over the planet it's possible but I'm not going to bother myself thinking about it." "Well I just don't want you trapping yourself in this label stopping yourself from liking someone." "I never have and probably never will like someone but if magically one day I do I won't stop myself does that sound good to you?" "Yes".
I just love negotiating my identity to keep people happy I've had that exact talk maybe 11 times now and im so done with it, I'm known for my patience explaining sexuality stuff to my older family cause I know their just curious but please stop checking in to see if I've change my sexuality like a clown fish I'm so done.
This was mostly a long rant but I just wanted it out there and to leave it on a good note my mom loves me for who I am and makes fun of my family and people who just can't get it through their head that I'm not going to ever date someone I'm her star child with no drama ✨ which I always find funny.
Love to all that have a hard time with it I love you and your valuable and valid
i’m so sorry to hear about your friends and family, you mum sounds lovely!

Now we need something where they're all gathered together for a we survived party or something and its a bad day for Tara and she tries to hide it by kinda avoiding everyone. When Sam corners her and asks if she's okay Tara plays it off. Sam lets it slide cause she's trying not to be so overbearing. So Sidney decides to try cause she knows its a lie. Then Tara says something along the lines of 'but you're Sam's support system' to her so Sidney drags her to Gale and Kirby.
Tara's been quiet and tired a lot these days. Sam's worried, but she's trying not to be overbearing and she knows how exhausting therapy can be, so she tries to quietly support her sister in whatever way she can. Without constantly digging for more information. She's constantly on the lookout for that sigh and the look Tara gets when she's getting frustrated. She's been getting the others involved in Operation cheer-up-Tara, but she always manages to slip out of their plans, or to escape them entirely. Sam's beginning to think that she just doesn't want to spend time with her specifically... except she's usually fine when it's the two of them. Even Gale's patented snark flies over Tara's head these days, and that's what really makes Sam think something might be seriously wrong. Sniping with Gale quickly became one of Sam's favourite activities, and she knows her sister loves it too. So to pass that up... Sam's worried.
Sidney's having a weekend get-together, she's invited everyone, even Danny. Danny, however, can't make it, stuck with a work commitment he can't get out of. And the twins aren't even in the country, off with their mom visiting distant relatives up in Canada. Sam's hoping the weekend will be good for Tara, being around their sort-of-family, and she's looking forward to seeing Sidney again. Even if she's disappointed the twins, Martha, and Danny can't make it.
Sidney's dog, Riley, latches onto Tara pretty much the moment they sit down, and just doesn't leave her alone. If Sidney didn't already know something was up with Tara from her conversations with Sam, this would have given it away. Riley lays their head in Tara's lap, and nudges her occasionally. Whenever she gets up, Riley follows, staying behind her and yipping every time someone comes near.
"Does your dog like children", Sam jokes, watching her sister smile, relaxed for once, as she pets the dog nuzzling into her lap. "Yes," Sidney replies, "Riley likes kids. But he's not playing right now, he's working." Seeing Sam's visible confusion, Sidney continues. "He's a service dog, trained for helping those with PTSD." Sam's eyes widen as understanding kicks in, a frown forming as sadness kicks in. "He's very sensitive to moods," Sidney says, patting Sam on the arm, "sometimes he knows before I do when I'm feeling bad."
"I don't know how to help her," Sam confesses, "she won't talk to me... or anyone. She's in therapy, but I don't know whether it's helping her or making it worse." Sam tells her that everyone has tried to get her to open up, to no avail. Sidney says she hasn't tried yet, she'll give it a shot at some point over the weekend.
Sidney gets a chance sooner than she thought. Later that evening, Tara retires to the spare room provided for her and Sam early, Riley on her heels. She watches her stall in the doorway, unsure whether she's allowed to take the dog with her, before Mark gives her a nudge and lets her know it's ok.
Sidney gives her 15 minutes before she leaves the others watching the movie, and follows after her. Tara takes a minute to respond to her knock on the door, but when she enters, she can see why. Tara's been crying and Riley's on the bed, clearly providing comfort. She pushes for Tara to talk, "we're all worried for you," she says. That seems to break something in the girl, because she starts crying again and apologising. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to make anyone worry, it's fine, I'm fine, really-" Sidney takes her into her arms and hushes her as if she were her own.
She tells her her own story, of how she dealt - or didn't deal - with what happened, how she hid away from the world, alone. By the time Sidney's finished, Tara reveals her own secrets. Sidney's heart breaks as Tara explains she didn't want to take away focus from Sam, that she knows how much Sam has sacrificed for her and she didn't want them all to be just another thing she took from her. Sidney reassures her, reminds her that no one is taking anyone from anything, that they're all family and we're all here for each other, that it would hurt Sam deeply to know that Tara is hurting herself for her sake.
"Please don't tell Sam." "You know I can't do that kiddo."
Tara spends the rest of the weekend bounced around between Sidney, Mark, Gale, and Kirby. Sam gets her own session with Riley as being kept from her sister makes her anxious. The four of them don't explain to Sam what's happening, trusting that Tara will do so herself once they get back to New York. And she does. Sam holds her tight and makes her promise to never hide anything from her ever again, no matter how much you think it will hurt me.

Chapter 1: The arrival
Tumblr media
index
the rhythmic clattering of the train was a soothing sound to the group of friends with a wide smile as they laughed together, awaiting their stop in the town of Shadowvale.
"Oh Ryle stop being such a nerd, relax a little on our one chance for a break from the city life" said Olivia flipping her dark hair over her shoulder.
"Hey, looking at the history of an unknown town is just being safe. plus you should know where you're staying just in case things don't work out our way" said Ryle with a wink his glasses catching the light.
olivia rolled her eyes while the others laughed at their usual bickering.
"cut it out, you guys. it's going to be an awesome week, I still can't believe you talked us into this Mia," said Daniel his eyes bright with excitement.
Mia laughed softly, the mastermind behind the whole trip. She was known for being resourceful and always up for an adventure.
"Trust me, Dan, this is going to be the most adventure you will ever have" Mia replied
"How is this house anyway? ryle did you find something about the house?" questioned Ava her curiosity piqued.
"yeah, it's like a hundred years old and hasn't been resided in for a while now"
"yeah no wonder why" Noah joked, earning a chuckle from everyone.
"as long as it's not creepy, I think it's fine," said Isabella her green eyes scanning the passing scenery.
"I mean it's a little creepy, but it looks cool. kinda gothic" said Mia with a grin.
"how much longer for us to reach?" inquired Matthew who had just woken up from his nap, successfully missing out on the fun bickering.
"just the next stop," said Mia as the others laughed at Matthews's ruffled-up hair.
The train began to slow as it approached its destination. The excitement was palpable as they gathered their bags and made their way to the platform. Shadowvale station was small and quaint, starkly contrasting to the bustling city they had left behind.
"holy shit this is so much more beautiful than I expected it to be," said Noah looking around in awe.
"yeah no shit, I told you it's going to be awesome" replied Mia with a satisfied smile.
"Mia thank you for this it's so pretty" chirped Isabella, already clicking pictures of the station.
"You're welcome Bella, come on you guys let's go our cabs waiting out front. noah and Dan you'll go with Ava and Bella, and Ryle, Matthew, me and Olivia will go together. is that okay?"
everyone complied as they walked towards the exit with their luggage. the guys helping set the bags inside while the girls communicated with the drivers.
"It's all set then, the house is about 45 minutes away you guys, rest up as much as you can cause we are not sleeping tonight" Mia winked as she showed everyone a glimpse of a bottle of vodka from her handbag.
"girl where did you get that, how did we not catch you" gasped Ava
"resourceful Mia is at it again" commented Noah.
mia chuckled and ushered everyone in the cabs and they all drove off to their final destination for the night not knowing the things waiting for them out there.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
"i am going to loose count of how many times mia is surprising us on this trip" exclaimed daniel as his mouth was left wide open at the sight of the beautiful gothic structured house
"holy shit that is literally the most gorgeous house ever, mia you are awesome" Matthew said and side hugged mia as everyone commented on the house and thanked mia and appreciated her.
"thank you everyone, wait till you see the inside of the house come on lets go."
they all made their way to the house. walking through the freshly mowed lawn and the earthy smell left by the rain. mia knocked on the door, it was answered by a man in his late fifties. with a smile on his face he welcomed everyone inside.
"you must be mia, im alaric. i own this house but it has not been resided in for awhile so I have to warn you about specks of dust and some friendly insects." alaric said with a small laugh.
everyone laughed along with him, except for Isabella she was unusually quite. ryle nudged her, mouthing the words, 'are you okay?' she simply smiled and nodded ,not wanting to ruin the mood.
" hi alaric, yes im mia and this is everybody. ryle, Matthew, noah, daniel, Isabella, ava and Olivia." mia introduced everybody to alaric, all of them waving when their name was called for a clearer introduction.
"awesome, well i hope you have a great time here. anything you might need I have written down on the notepad on the kitchen counter, I also bought some basic groceries for you lot, have a good time here." he smiled warmly as mia thanked him. he looked at everyone and said goodbye but before making his way out he caught Isabella starring at him with a knowing look in her eyes. the others were already settling in the house but Isabella stood there and whispered.
"i can sense it" and alaric ran out of the house, not waiting to look back.
isabella laughed and matthew rolled his eyes at her, witnessing the whole interaction.
"seriously, you didnt have to scare the poor guy he was already leaving."
"its fun" said isabella, but she only laughed because she caught Matthew from her peripheral vision. she can sense something, but she doesn't want anyone to worry without a strong reason so she resorts to ignore the feeling until she notices something stronger than a hunch.
isabella and matthew join the others on the huge couch in the middle of the living room, blending in the conversation of the Itinerary mia has planned.
After discussing everything and relaxing for a while, everyone decided to get dressed and have a mini-party. They all went to their rooms, Ava and Mia were staying together, Olivia and Isabella, Matthew and Noah, and Daniel and Ryle.
mia was the first to get ready, she bumped into Ryle in the hallway. he gripped her arms to prevent her from falling as she was too engrossed in the list of things Alaric left them.
"hey, careful there." ryle smiled softly and looked down at Mia
"oh thanks, yeah I was just going through this list um do you want something? I'm grabbing blankets for Olivia."
"Oh, um no I'm good. do you want me to come help?" offered Ryle, both of them still close.
"no it's okay I got it, you should go get ready" replied Mia as she cleared her throat and took a step back to create some distance.
ryle nodded and left while Mia stood there for a second, taking a deep breath and then noticing Isabella at the corner, grinning at her.
"you guys are so into each other, why aren't you making a move Mia?" Isabella walked towards her and hooked her arm with hers. taking the list and walking to the attic with her.
"come on, the only thing he is into is a newspaper not me," Mia said.
"so you admit that you are?" Isabella laughed
"Bella! dont say that so loud"
mia hushed her and climbed up the ladder to the attic, pushing the door open as the scent of old wood and forgotten memories hit her nose. She rummaged through a few boxes before finding one with clean blankets. She passed the box to Isabella whose smile was now gone.
"what? do you feel something?" Mia asked, knowing the look on her psychic friend's face.
"Now who's being loud? yeah I do but let's not dig into it much, its nothing strong"
mia nodded, putting her foot on the ladder and gripping the door handle to shut the door but she caught something from the corner of her eye, a leather case. it looked so out of place, it intrigued her so she picked it up and brought it down with her.
"what's that?" Isabella asked
mia opened up the case, finding an old film camera sitting prettily.
"oh wow a vintage camera, we should check out if it works."
Isabella eyed the camera, not loving the vibe but it's just a camera.
mia suggested and they walked back to their rooms, getting dressed for the only peaceful night they would have for the week.

Red Sky Warning
This is a cod fic that I’m working on. It’s also on Wattpad I swear it’s good. A lil Simon Riley x reader
Prologue
A nice warm day. The tree outside of my room casted a shadow from the sunlight outside.
Seventeen.
Dancing Queen had been blasting in my headphones since I woke up. It's my seventeenth birthday. What else would I be listening to?
I was sat at my desk with my headphones as I was peacefully playing CSGO. Well as peaceful as I could play CSGO. It mostly ended in me screaming profanities at my mic and my step mom telling me to watch my mouth while my friend Jackie burst out laughing.
"You got enough money to move out yet?" She asked with a laugh.
"Almost." I said with a smile on my face. "My Aunt said when I turn eighteen I can move in with her. She's never really home so..."
"Oh so you'll practically be by yourself."
"Yup! It's gonna be great!" I beamed as I got another kill in.
We played a few more rounds a few friends joined. Our friends Darragh and Damien joined so we messed around a bit.
"What time is it over there anyway? Do you guys just not eat dinner?" Jackie asked them.
"Ate just before joinin'." Darragh's Irish accent rang through my headset.
"It's 6:30 over here." Damien joined in.
"It's 1:30 over here. Jesus, I haven't left my room at all today." I laughed.
"It's yer birthday! Go do something!" Darragh yelled through the mic.
"I am doing something! I'm hanging out with you guys!"
  "Ye're a feckin lost cause."
  "Oh fuck off!"
"Language! Young lady!" My step mom's voice yelled though was muffled by my headset.
  "Sorry!" I yelled back down.
"I swear my dad married her for a green card." I grumbled.
"HA! Imagine living in America!" Darragh laughed then immediately got shot.
"Karma." You could practically hear the smirk on Jackie.
"I remember when you came here and said that everything is more exciting here. And I agree. Ireland is boring as fuck." I replied to Darragh.
"You guys do have better food." Damien spoke.
"Bro went to Buffalo Wild Wings once and wants to go to America." Darragh made fun of Damien and we all joined in with laughter.
"I'M FUCKIN DEAD AGAIN!" Darragh screamed, full fuckin diaphragm.
"Alright Will Ramos, calm down."
"You guys should come to America next summer." Jackie suggested. "We can all crash at (Y/n)'s place since she'll practically be alone."
"I don't think my Aunt Kate would be okay with that. And I think I'm going to Ireland with my uncle to visit family."
"And us too!" Darragh cut in.
"Eh. If I have time I might stop by." I smiled sarcastically.
"Your aunt Kate is friends with British people. I don't care for her opinion." Damien said in a serious tone but we all knew he was joking... kinda. "And you better visit us." He huffed.
"Oi! I'm half British!" Yelled Darragh.
"She works for the government. I don't care for her opinion." Jackie joined in.
"You guys are just haters. She's not that bad." I smiled. "Not bad at all if she's willing to take me in."
"She doesn't know what she's in for." Jackie laughed.
"Don't think she does, but whateveh."
We played for another two hours before we got off. I walked downstairs and saw my step mom at the table.
The lights were dim and my feet were cold on the wooden floor. Next to her was a smaller table dressed in a baby blue tablecloth. A few pictures of my half brother. His deep brown eyes smiling through the photos. A couple of his favorite plushes on the table as well.
  Along with his urn.
Luke died of leukemia two years ago. Almost exactly eight years after my dad died. My step mom hasn't been the same since my father's passing. So you could imagine what it was like after her only baby boy died.
I truly felt bad for my mom because Luke was her blood child but she acts like I barely exist anymore. I know I'm not really her kid but I've known her a long time and it's like it doesn't even matter. Her whole family is like that though. Well, except her sister Kate. She's the only normal person in her family. My mom doesn't really like her all that much but she's one of those people that won't cut people off because their family. It works out for me because I love my aunt Kate.
"Mom?" I asked looking at her. She looked at me with a dead stare. I only call her mom because I've known her for so long. "Are you okay?"
"It should've been you..." She mumbled. Her eyes were dilated and she looked out of it.
She was referring to my brother. It wasn't the first time she's said something like this but usually she was sober. Right now there was clearly something in her system. I didn't know what exactly. She's not a big drinker and I know the only alcohol in the house is the box of Mikes in my room.
"I know." I mumbled. I gave up on fighting her about this long ago. She's Grieving, I'll give her time. I'll be out of here soon enough.
"You never help around the house, you sit in your room all day doing god knows what!" She attempted to rase her voice. It came out strained and slurred.
She suddenly stood up though she was swaying from side to side. I walked to her side to help her. Next thing I knew I had a stinging feeling on my cheek. She must've used all of her strength to slap me because I stumbled back. I barely even moved. My mouth slightly agape. I just stared at her as she tried to steady herself.
Her lips were turning blue and she was shaking.
"Mom?" No reply. All her hair was in the front of her face. She was sticky with sweat. "Mom?" I asked a little louder. "Mom you're scaring me!" I walked closer to her. An orange bottle caught my eye when I looked over at Luke's memorial.
Shit.
"MOM!" I yelled as I laid her down on the floor. I quickly grabbed my phone and called 911. My heart was going a mile a minute.
The paramedics took her away. Her skin was graying as she was being loaded into the ambulance. My face felt wet with tears.
If she dies on my fucking birthday.
It's not fair! She gets to overdose on my birthday! Like I didn't lose a father and a brother! I'm losing the only mother I've ever known?!
I walked back inside. I grabbed my phone from my pocket. A picture of the four of us as my Home Screen. I screamed and threw it at the wall.
  It's not fair!
I went over to my now shattered phone and opened it. Slightly cutting my thumb on the glass. I hit the contact and it rang twice before picking up.
"Aunt Kate?"

Hello, I saw that you were asking for requests so I hope you don't mind me leaving one. For either Smiley or Hanma which is an enemies to lovers(not necessarily s/o in a gang);where at some point in their friendship fase they kiss the male s/o bit neither think much of it till later. Both s/o and they have a panic moment cause both realize their feelings and think they're a bad guys and s/o is to good for them and eventually they confess. Sorry if it's too long or demanding.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
paring: hanma x m!reader
warnings: ooc hanma idk, horrible writing
a/n: sorry for the late reply I was busy with school
Tumblr media
you and hanma knew each other for quite some time, since you were both little to be exact, you met at a park not too far from your house, hanma wanted to play on the swings but you were taking too much time on there he decided to push you off, which escalated to the both of you kicking and punching each other until an adult finally stepped In
and that wasn't the only time you both fought, every time you went to that park he would be there ready to annoy you somehow, you sometimes wondered if he lived at that park
but you've kinda gotten used to how annoying he Is, which ended up with the both of you becoming friends, friends that liked annoying each other for fun, it was surprising because of how different the both of you are
. . .
hanma was an asshole but you enjoyed having him around, you would never admit it but you loved it when he waited for you outside your classroom, or how he always checked up on you whenever he had the chance to, or when he drove you back home after a long day of school, he was always with you, which made you happy
after a few years of your friendship, you and hanma started hanging around less and less, it wasn't much of a surprise considering hanma started getting involved with gangs and other dangerous stuff
every time hanma was at your door he'd be covered in bruises and sometimes blood, either his or someone else's, not to mentjon he started hanging out with this "Kisaki" person, which made you a jealous
Just a bit
or at least that was what you convinced yourself
you tried ignoring your feelings being afraid that they'd only bring you into awkward situations, but you knew that one day you'd need to actually deal with them instead of running away
. . .
[12:03]
you lay comfortably on your bed ready to go sleep until your phone started ringing, it was hanma calling you
he hasn't called you in a while so it was a bit surprising, you sat back and thought for a bit before picking up your phone from the nightstand answering the call
"hey, [name]." you heard hanma say
"hanma,, hello? why are you calling at this time" you didn't mind him calling you at this time but you were curious about the reason
perhaps he wants to see you
"I'm outside your door open up," he said knocking on your door forcefully
you were thankful your parents weren't home at that time or you would've gotten in trouble
"why are you- uh never mind, I'll open it wait a minute" you stopped yourself from asking not wanting to make hanma wait, it was raining outside, knowing him he probably didn't have a jacket on, neither an umbrella
you went downstairs and open your door only to find hanma soaking wet with a couple of bruises on his face and a bleeding nose, nothing out of the ordinary
after he got in you closed the door and went to get him some towels and a first aid kit
he sat on a chair in the kitchen while you patched him up
"there, all done, next time you come to me at this time I won't be opening the door though " you said joking (maybe)
"you're so mean to me for no reason" he said jokingly rolling his eyes at you
"get out of my house hanma"
"Cmon I was just joking,
you wouldn't actually kick me out right.."
you just looked at him not saying anything, and he did the same not wanting to actually get kicked out by you
". . ."
". . ."
then the silence suddenly got interrupted by hanma's sneezing
"I'll go get you some spare clothing, yours are still wet," you said hoping to get out of whatever situation that was
you ran upstairs almost tripping and falling face-first, which made hanma chuckle
so you threw your shoe at him (which he dogged) but you just got in your room and got a pair of sweatpants and a large t-shirt, you weren't sure if it would fit him but it's better than having wet clothing on right?
you got back downstairs and gave him his clothes (and got your shoe back)
hanma went ahead and changed in the bathroom, when he came out he sat on your couch and patted the seat next to him
"we should watch a movie, we haven't had fun together in a while" hanma proposed grinning
"It's late and I'm tired, I was about to sleep before you came"
"sleep can wait, plus you don't have any school tomorrow"
"fine, I'll watch a movie with you" you walked over the couch and sat next to him
hanma chose a random movie and put it on, not even halfway through your eyelids started to get heavy so you just decided to close your eyes for a bit, hanma didn't notice though, he just kept watching the movie until he got thirsty and went to the kitchen to grab a cup of water, when coming back to the living room he saw you laying down and thought you were asleep
he first thought about waking you up but decided not to, he turned off the TV and kneeled next to you
he looked at you for a moment admiring every one of your features
after a couple of minutes he realised how creepy that was, he didn't stop though, he got closer and starter stroking your cheek
you were aware hanma was next to you, what you didn't know was that he was extremely close to you
deciding he should probably go sleep as well he reached over to you wanting to peck your cheek
but he didn't expect you to move in the process and his lips reaching your lips
not your cheek
both of your eyes widen as you stared at each other in shock
"look I-" hanma tried explaining but got interrupted by you as you suddenly got up
"it's late I'll go sleep in my room, you can take the couch,"
not sparing him a glance you got up and went to your room again hoping Hanma wouldn't stop you
and he didn't
hanma sat on the floor hand on his chest feeling his heartbeat, a bunch of thoughts entering his mind at once but he didn't move nor make a sound
he wanted to apologise to you thinking he made you uncomfortable in some way, he thought he messed up, that you probably hate him right now
he didn't know why his heart was beating so fast or why his face felt warm
why was he feeling this way towards you
he sat back and thought for a bit
maybe he was feeling this way because you're both close friends?
bros kiss each other on the lips right?
right..?
". . . . ."
hanma liked you, a lot, but he never actually took time to think about his feelings, he knew you liked men as well but why would you of all people like him?
he kept thinking about it all night, not knowing that you were worrying about the same thing
maybe you were too good for him, maybe he needed to move on
there's no way you'd like him, you ran away after he accidentally kissed you
did you find him gross?
hanma couldn't sleep all night, he kept overthinking about everything, it really made him sad though, he never thought someone could make him feel this way
. . .
[12:00]
you got up a bit later then usual since you didn't sleep that well last night
after doing your usual routine you decided to go downstairs, checking on the living room you saw hanma was still asleep, you didn't want to wake up though
you just went to the kitchen and made breakfast for you and hanma, you weren't going to wait for him to wake so you started eating
"morning [name]" hanma yawned walking in with messy bed hair and dark eyebags under his eyes
he took a seat next to you and started eating his food
"morning, I'm guessing you didn't sleep well last night"
"nope, did you?"
"I didn't"
there was silence for a few seconds, before hanma decided to open his mouth
"soooo are we just gonna ignore what happened last night and pretend it never happened" he took a sip of his orange juice
".. maybe"
"I didn't mean to kiss you on the lips by the way ahahaha" he awkwardly laughted
you really wanted to smack him for bringing that up
"I wouldn't mind if you kissed me though"
hanma didn't know what he was doing, yesterday he was doubting himself and now he's being so blunt as if this was the last time he was going to see you
"actually, I'd love it if you kissed me right now, no I'd love it if you kissed me every day" he added
"if you're joking right know just know you're not funny" feeling your face warming up you didn't make any eye contact with hanma
"I'm not, I'm being 100% serious right know, you don't have to agree though, I know I'm too hot and all-"
you smacked him
"what are you saying"
"I'm simply saying I like you [name], isn't it obvious?" hanma felt like his heart was about to burst through his chest
".. so you're telling me I was overthinking last night for nothing" you sighed feeling embarrassed "I like you too hanma"
"ofcourse you like me I'm litterly so amazing-"
"I take back what i said I don't like you anymore" you interrupted him joking (maybe)
". . ."
". . ."
"would you fall for me again if I took you on a bike ride"
"I would fall for you again if you took me on a bike ride AND bought me my favourite food"
"deal"

So. This is the famous Calypso.
You size each other up, assessing everything from microexpressions to posture. You determine quickly that you’re not a fan. She squints, shifting her weight, clearly trying to intimidate you. You don’t move, holding your ground. Her eyes hover on your smudged lipstick a little too long.
“Leo…” she says, turning her head but not taking her eyes off you, like she’s worried you’ll try something if she looks away, “who’s this?”
It’s a question, but her tone makes it a statement. A challenge. Her tone of voice reminds you of the way you might talk to a dog, warning them not to do something. She’s asking a straightforward question, but using it to get a specific reaction, specific information out of him. You don’t like it. At all.
Still leaning against the counter, Leo standing next to you, you place a hand on his shoulder and trace your fingertips over the collar of his shirt. Effortless and casual, but still an intentional gesture. You’re sending a message - one you know she won’t miss.
“Satan’s sugar baby,” you reply, fingers dipping below his collar for a split second, “I’m on vacation.” Your smile is too perfect, your expression too cordial. You’re fueling the fire while giving her nothing to point at.
She lets out an indignant scoff. Leo laughs, but it dies quickly as Calypso stiffly refuses to acknowledge the obvious joke.
"Uh, Calypso," he begins, introducing you, "she was just joking. Her sense of humor is-"
"Unique." Calypso says with a flare of her eyes.
"Hilarious." They say it at the same time, and he can feel his stomach twisting up in knots. He hasn't taken your hand off his shoulder, idly playing with the collar of his shirt.
You look up at his face, and your brow furrows almost imperceptibly. He seems like an entirely different person than he did two minutes ago. His shoulders and back are tense, barely relaxing when your fingertips brush lightly against them. You can't quite put it into words, but you recognize the repression of his personality, the way his eyes scan both Calypso and your faces, the fear hiding far behind his eyes slowly worming its way to the surface. He's panicking. He's bracing for impact. You want it to stop. Right fucking now.
"Leo,” she says, contemptuously, “can we talk for a minute?” It’s clear that it’s not a question. Leo looks at you for a split second, his panic at the sudden tension obvious.
“No, he can’t.” you state before she can get an answer out of him, “We’re about to start making dinner.”
“Really.” she says, disbelieving.
“Yeah.” you reply, taking a few steps forward, “Remember thirty seconds ago when you barged in unannounced, and we were all close, cozied up together?”
The passive aggression building up around her is almost palpable.
“We were planning what to make for dinner.”
She finally tears her gaze away from you, relinquishing her part in the power struggle long enough to turn to Leo.
“Then we’ll talk before you start.”
She spits the words out, her frustration getting harder to mask.
“No can do,” you state breezily, picking up the apron matching Leo’s, “I really need his help.”
She narrows her gaze at you, wanting more than anything to call your bullshit justification for keeping Leo away from her.
“What are you making?” she asks treacherously.
“It’s a surprise.” You say, a strategic casualty to your voice. You turn your back to her, holding out the strings for Leo to tie. He does, thankful to have something to do with his hands.
“If you’re so bad at cooking, maybe you shouldn’t be in the kitchen.” she spits. She’s more worked up than she’d like you to think. You feel Leo freeze behind you, waiting to see what you do. You know it’s petty, but you can’t help yourself.
“If you’re so bad at not ditching your friends, maybe you shouldn’t be traveling with them.”
You turn back to the counter, organizing ingredients and pulling out a mixing bowl. Even though you don’t see the indignant look on her face, you suppress a smile, knowing it’s there.
Before she can reply, Jason enters the kitchen with an uncomfortable looking Nico.
“Hey guys, Nico’s here!” he says cheerily, unaware of the situation he’s just walked into.
“Hi Tino, nice to see you - everyone out, we’re making dinner. Don’t interrupt us.”
You usher everyone out of the kitchen quickly, closing the door behind you.
Suddenly, it’s quiet again. It’s just you two in a nice little bubble.
“Well, that was… a shitty yet accurate first impression.” You say, acting busy with the ingredients you have out again.
Leo watches you in a state of bewilderment.
“...seriously don’t know what I was expecting, but it wasn’t that.”
He has no idea how you managed to turn that situation around so fast. He approaches, turning you around to face him.
Your words evaporate as you study each other’s expressions. For another moment, it’s silent.
“...Kiss me again.”
You don’t answer right away, and he continues, face even closer. The floral smell of hair dye lingers with his cologne, a combination you never expected to be so nice.
“Kiss me again, like you did before,” he says, a ghost of a smile on his lips. You wait for a beat, wait in vain for him to come to his senses, but the desire in his eyes only grows.
You bring your hands to his cheeks, pulling him close, and before you can come to your own senses, before it clicks that this is a terrible, very bad idea, you close the distance between you.
His lips are warm and soft, moving in vigorous sync with yours. You slip your tongue past his lips and he grabs at your waist. Breathing heavy, your hand trails down his chest, then to his back, tugging at the strings of his apron and they flutter down, coming untied. He pulls you closer, leaning against the island. Open mouthed kisses getting more feverish, he starts to tug at the waistband of your pants. You know exactly where this is going. You know what a bad, awful, objectively terrible idea this is, but right here, right now, the desire to pop open the first few buttons of his shirt is insurmountably stronger than logic. His hand trails down your thigh, mouth now trailing down your neck. Your chest feels warm, and not just because of the hickeys he’s starting to leave on your decolletage. You know you’re at the point of no return.
“Hey,” you breathe, placing your hand on his jaw, guiding him to look up at you. His face is flushed, eyes electric and heavy with lust. His breathing is heavy and you’re sure yours is the same. Fighting to hold on to any shred of the prickly at best air that usually comes effortlessly to you, you realize you’re not at the point of no return - you’re past it.
Desperately clinging to your carefully constructed persona, you continue.
“We can do this, but I want you to know I’m exclusively using you for your body.”
A small part of you hopes this will snap him out of it. You don’t want either of you to end up on the other’s string of broken hearts. For once, you don’t want to ruin a friendship then run away.
He studies your expression for a moment, then bites back a smile.
“...I’m okay with that.”
He sweeps the contents of the island counter to the side, lifting you up onto the edge. You shimmy your pants down and he does the same. He kisses you again, tongue thrashing in your mouth, and his hands trail down, grabbing at your hips.
Legs wrapped around his waist, his fingers trail down to your heat. He traces enticingly around your hole, thumb rubbing gently on your clit, before slipping in a finger, then another. You bite his neck, fighting back a moan.
He pumps his fingers into you, slow and steady, until you’ve stretched enough to comfortably accommodate them. The feeling of you, wet and tight around him, and so responsive to his every move is making him throb, hard in his boxers.
You open the nearest drawer, fumbling around until you find what you’re looking for.
One very convenient skill you got from your dad is the ability to find condoms and the like whenever they’re needed. The host of this airbnb almost definitely didn’t leave a bunch of condoms tucked here and there, but you know you’ll be able to find them right when it’s convenient.
You pull his hips closer, palming him a few times before pulling him out. He lets out a faltering breath as you slide on the condom.
‘Not quite a moan, but we’re getting there,’ you think for the second time today.
He lines himself up with your entrance, slowly thrusting in, gradually getting deeper as you kiss his neck and shoulder. You bite gently and his grip tightens. You smile slightly, sucking a hickey on the spot. His breath fans over your shoulder as you settle into a good rhythm. You grab the back of his shirt, barely still on, your other hand coming up to tug at his hair.
He lets out a quiet moan, and you bite back a smile. It sounds nicer than you imagined. You want to hear more of them.
You kiss up his neck and bite his ear.
“Moan like that again,” you breathe, and his grip tightens again. He buries his face in your neck in an attempt to muffle the noises he’s making, and you bite back a moan yourself, “yeah, like that,” you coo.
“You feel so good inside me,” you mutter as he bucks his hips into yours. You continue murmuring dirty praise, everything he does bringing you closer. He pulls your hips toward his, one arm holding you tight, the other planted behind you on the counter as he leans forward, still moaning into your neck. Your grip on his hair tightens, and you let out a moan that even catches you by surprise as the angle changes. You forget what you had been about to say as you can feel the head of his cock rubbing against your g-spot with every thrust.
Until now you’d been holding yourself back, trying to see if you could get him to cum first - which, historically, hasn't been hard at all for you. But now, you can feel yourself coming undone faster than you’d anticipated. You let out a breathy whine, clamping down around him as you climax. Your thoughts are blurry with oxytocin and all you can do is cling to him, panting. A moment later, he lets out a guttural moan and you feel him cum inside you. The head of his cock nudges against your g-spot in concentrated motions. You feel a build up, then release as you squirt around him.
You stay there for a minute, catching your breath and clinging to each other. After a minute, he pulls out, pressing soft kisses to your neck, then your cheek, then, thumb brushing your lip gently, your mouth.
He gazes at you, expression less clouded, but still just as lustful. You tear your gaze away, unable to process the intense and complicated emotions. You open your mouth to say something, but before you can, your eyes land on the clock.
“Oh, shit,” you say, accepting the wet wipes he hands you to clean up, and hopping off the counter to shimmy your pants back up. You pull out your phone and dial a number.
“Yeah, hi, I’d like to order a couple pizzas…”
Leo watches you do this, hastily fixing his clothes. Right… oh fuck, you were supposed to be making dinner this whole time. You give the guy your address, thank him, and hang up.
“Fifteen minutes tops.” you state.
“Good catch,” he says, starting to put away the various unused cutting boards, bowls, and ingredients.
You let out a tsk, then start unbuttoning his shirt. He laughs, heat rising to his cheeks.
“Again, already?” he asks, and you roll your eyes.
“...Your shirt was misbuttoned.”
“Good catch.”
“Yeah, I seem to be pretty good at those.”
Satisfied with your work, you pat his chest. Placing the spice bottles back in the cabinet, you notice he still has lipstick all over his cheek and neck. You grab another wipe and place your hand on his cheek to keep him still. You dab at the smudge, and he flinches almost imperceptibly at the chill from the moisture.
By the time you’re done cleaning up the kitchen - and each other - the pizza and sides have arrived. You thank the delivery guy, an awkward looking college kid, and he scratches the back of his neck, blushing. You close the door before he can ask for your number.
Leo lets everyone know that dinner’s ready, and soon you’re gathered in the living room with all his friends. They’re introduced quickly. You go back to the kitchen for a side you forgot, and hear yet another set of footsteps coming down the stairs.
“This is what you spent so long in the kitchen for?”
There she is.
You exit, carrying in a tray of breadsticks.
“Surprise.” you state. You can feel her stare on the back of your neck. You ignore her, keeping your gaze forward as the temperature drops in the room, Leo’s friends sensing the tension. She huffs after a minute, and stomps back up the stairs, her door slamming behind her.
It’s silent for a moment.
“Who’s hungry?” you ask rhetorically, opening up pizza boxes as people start to dig in.
Later that night after dinner, you can’t sleep. You’re lying in bed, clothes strewn across the floor, freezing cold. You wonder if Leo’s room is already messy too. You can picture him opening the door, taking one look around, and making some clever joke. You stare at the door.
It stays closed.
You huff, rolling over. Jesus christ, you can’t get comfortable. And you can’t get warm. Maybe it would be warmer if… You let out a sigh. Your fingertips skim down your waist to your hips and thighs, imagining someone else’s touch.
‘He’s probably really clingy,’ you think, staring up at your ceiling, moonlight filtering through the gauzy curtains, the spotless night sky casting everything in a blue glow. If he were in here right now he’d probably insist on cuddling with you. The idea makes you laugh. Your stomach drops as you realize you’ve been thinking about Leo a lot tonight.
“I bet that would drive old Cally crazy,” you mutter. Of course you’ve been thinking about Leo a lot, because you’re not really thinking about how much you like him, you’re thinking about how much you hate Calypso. Which is a lot. You’re so sick of her and you’ve interacted for a grand total of five minutes. You interrupt your stream of consciousness, trying to redirect your thoughts anywhere else. Fuck, why are the pillows so soft? You shift again, jamming the fluff under your neck at a different angle, to no avail. You grit your teeth, eyes wandering across the blank ceiling. You notice a slightly darker color peeking out in tiny spots here and there from the bright white molding along the walls. Your eyes drift back down to the door. You lay there, uncomfortable, sick of sleeping, waiting for something to happen. Nothing does. You let out an audible groan, rolling over again.
Just down the hall, Leo’s also laying in bed, staring at the ceiling. An immovable faint smile rests on his lips, events from earlier today playing over and over in his mind like a movie he’s seen a thousand times, but can’t get sick of. He thinks back to when you first met, how intimidating you’d been, how terrifying you’d made yourself seem. He doesn’t know why everyone else is still scared of you; after a short amount of time together, it was so easy to see past that persona you put up. His fingers trace over his lips, mind once again wandering back to your touch. He lets out a soft chuckle, face warm, looking away towards the window.
He’s getting much better at understanding you, he realizes, that’s why you don’t seem so scary. He thinks you’re starting to understand him, too. This must be true, he thinks, because of how quickly you turned around that situation with Calypso in the kitchen. He doesn’t think a lot of people could have picked up on how he was feeling so quickly - unless they were paying really close attention to him or something. He bites back another smile.
His gaze floats around the room again, this time landing on the doorway. He knows right then and there that if you came into his room in the middle of the night to fool around there’s no way he’d turn you down. You could probably proposition him anywhere - including in front of two for one cookie crisp - and he’d be so, so down. You’re just so… cute. He realizes he can’t think of anyone as cute as you are. It’s so fun, and surprisingly easy to fluster you. He thinks back to the look on your face, the way you clung to him trying to catch your breath after your time in the kitchen.
He wonders if he could fluster you like that again.
He’s about to roll over and try to sleep when his door quietly creeks open, revealing you, pajama clad and wrapped in a cardigan. Once you see that he’s up, you look away quickly, avoiding his eyes. You let out a sigh, clearly seeming annoyed, but it’s obvious to him how glad you are that he’s still awake.
“Hi,” he says quietly, voice sounding strange in the resounding silence.
“...Hi.” you reply curtly.
A beat passes.
“You come here often?” he asks, that ever present layer of humor in his voice.
You let out a scoff. After a moment you reply.
“I couldn’t sleep.”
“Okay,” he says softly, encouraging you to continue.
“It was too cold.” You don’t know why you always end up talking so much around him, but it’s hard to stop yourself.
“Okay,” he says again, curious to see where you’re going with this.
“I couldn’t get comfortable, and I’m not even that tired,” you add in a huff. He fights back a blossoming smile.
“Okay,” he says again.
“And, I’m sick of sleeping, and- will you stop saying okay and move over?” You say, more of a statement, and toss your cardigan on the foot of the bed.
He lets out a soft chuckle and moves over, lifting up the blankets for you to crawl under. You press your face into his chest, arms around his torso, already feeling yourself start to thaw out.
“You know,” he says quietly, feigning surprise, “I didn’t take you for the cuddling type.” You don’t need to look at him to know the exact smirk on his face as he speaks.
“I told you,” you say, really glad he can’t see your face right now, “I’m cold.” It’s bullshit, you both know it, but you have to say something. He pulls you closer, gently rubbing the small of your back.
“Right,” he agrees, politely ignoring the obvious, real reason you’re here. He traces his hand up your side, to your waist, and down your hips and thigh.
“Do you…want some help warming up?”
Before he can finish, you’re already pressing kisses to the side of his neck.
“Yes,” you murmur. He grabs your waist and flips you over enthusiastically pinning you to the bed, making you giggle. It rings through the room like ripples in a pond as still as glass. He adds that to his mental list of times he’s made you laugh.
You trace your finger over his lips, gazing at him with that look he’s only seen on you a few times. After a moment that feels both too short and like eternity, you close the distance.
His lips are warm, and his hands are warm, everything about him is just so warm. He angles his head, deepening the kiss, using the opportunity to slip his tongue past your lips. Between the way you tug up his shirt and the sudden heat from your face, he thinks he can fluster you again.
He wonders how many times he can do it in one night.

🌨 EUPHORIA PARTY DAY 1🌨
MY FAVORITE SCENE FROM 1x01 :
In which you have to witness how Jules has to face Nate.
Tumblr media
Nate went into McKay's kitchen like an angry bull going into a b. You wouldn't have even noticed his presence if it wasn't because he pushed everything off the kitchen counter onto the floor. You rolled your eyes, keeping your distance from him as he served himself a shot of whiskey.
"Get the fuck out of here!" He shouted throwing his arm into the air in such viontly way. Most of the people did as he say or at least stay as separated from the boy as they could. You noticed a girl with pretty pink and blonde hair. She was trapped between a corner of the kitchen and an angry Nate. She seemed unused to this kind of behavior and even more unused to Nate Jacobs so you made two guesses: she was new to the town or she hasn't been to a party in a pretty long time. "What the fuck are you looking at?" It looked like the girl didn't only catch your attention but Nate's too.
Nate approached the girl who was shocked enough to not be able to do anything else besides standing there. "Who are you?" You were definitely interested in the answer to that question but the scene that Nate was putting her through was as uncomfortable to see as it was being for her. "I'm Jules, I'm a friend of..." Jules. So that was her name. Pretty name, you thought. "A friend of whose? Cause you're not my fucking friend, so who are you fucking friends with Jules?" You wanted to intervene but your friends stood in front of you, like a big wall blocking your way. "Does anybody know who this is? Does anybody know who the fuck Jules is?" How was no one doing anything? Jules was looking around, uncomfortable and scared as fuck when her eyes met yours. Nate hissed, mocking the girl when no one stood up for her. "So who are you?"
"I'm just minding my own business. I'm not trying to star anything."
"Nobody that looks like you is minding their own fucking business. I know what you are." He was getting so close to Jules' face, making her lower lip trembled but her eyes never broke the eye contact with Nate's. "So what you want? Do you want some fucking attention? I'll give you some fucking attention." This was not only uncomfortable to see but disgusting too. Jules turned her face aside, scaping from Nate's which was getting closer every time he talked. "Is anybody here friends with Jules? Does anybody know who the fuck this bitch is?"
"Fuck you Nate!" You shouted behind your friends. Nate turned his head looking for the shameless person that interrupted him. "Fucking y/n. It always has to be the fucking y/n who stands up for the bitches huh!" He walked towards you, your friends leaving you exposed to him, oh so now they moved? "You better fucking tell me who this bitch is because you're both gonna get fucked up!" Nate stood between you and Jules, pointing at the blonde girl and threatening you. When Nate approached Jules again, she took a knife and aimed Nate. All the people in the kitchen watching the scene involuntarily stepped back. "You wanna fucking touch me? You wanna fucking hurt me?" She was holding the knife so tightly you could see the palm of her hand turning red. Nate walked backward, trying to escape from an armed Jules as he reassured her that he was joking.
"You have no fucking idea!" Jules raised her arm and slid the edge of the knife down her skin. You could hear people gasping and whispering some "what the fuck"s. Your eyes just went wide enough to assimilate what was going on. "You're a psycho!" Nate was now the one trapped between Jules and the kitchen counter, he was almost climbing up the worktop which was kinda funny to you. "I'm fucking invencible!" She replied to him as she let her bloody arm fall into Nate's shoulder. He finally escaped from the scene he started and Jules started to walk back, at first looking proud but then going back to reality and feeling a sensation of shame invading her body.
"I'm Jules by the way. I've just moved here." You nodded slowly, approving how the situation ended. You followed the girl outside of the house and you finally reached her when she was about to leave with her bike. "Wait, are you okay?" You pointed at her arm with your head, she nodded. "Oh yes, It's okay. I knew he was gonna get violent and I didn't want a fucking broken cheekbone or something." You understood her reaction, if it had been for you, you'd have definitely sunk that knife in between Nate's ribs.
"I'm y/n."
"I'm Jules."
You both shook hands. "Thank you for standing up for me tho." You shook your head. "It's nothing. Nate Jacobs is an asshole I hope you don't have to deal with him anymore because he really is the fucking worst." She giggled. Jules was so pretty, long blonde hair, and big eyes decorated with beautiful make-up and the best part was that she thought the same about you. Jules was trying to remember when was the last time she looked at someone that beautiful. "Hmm.... Where are you going now?" The party was getting boring so scaping with a pretty girl seemed so much fun than staying. "Home, probably."
"I got my car. I can drive you. I haven't drunk anything yet so..." She nodded, adding a "that would be great".

How does that work? A fiancé that is. Do like all of you date him, or just the one? I genuinely do not know how it works.
I was laughing over how I got a couple of asks about DID from the curious Moon Knight fandom and had to show him this and he wanted me to reply with a joking "I'm Mormon so I'm okay with having multiple wives (acceptable misgendering for the joke)" which he is not but- obligatory had to pass it on.
It really actually isn't that complicated in my opinion? Maybe I've just gotten really used to it and a lot of my peers that I talk to online also have DID or are partners with someone with DID, but its really just like having individual relationships with different people.
Some of our parts are dating him, some of our parts see him as a life partner / platonic partner, some of us have unclear relationships, some of us have fwb dynamics, and some of our child parts see him something like a big brother / dad of sorts. He pretty much gets to know each part and respects the parts as individuals and at this point into the relationship (6~ years) - and having been 4 years into active treatment for DID with him here - its almost like he is part of the system itself from our perspective.
Plus he has actually gotten amazingly well at identifying each part by simple facial expressions, ways the body is held, minor pitch changes, word choices, snickers, laughs, smiles, and he can pretty much decently accurately guess who is out from far away which is frustrating but really wholesome.
I was the main one that he started dating at first and then it was a blur of like, parts unofficially interacting / talking with him since we didn't know we had DID properly at the time, and then some other parts that formally knew him interacting and all that. Over the 6~ years each part has a unique dynamic with him and its pretty chill. Sometimes he helps facilitate communication between each of us or helps mediate conflict. Like one of my parts has been having a hard time with trauma, dysphoria, and depression to the point he hasn't really had the ability to have the energy to take out the guitar from the bag and set it up which is one of his larger which he commented to our fiance - and he later, when he heard I was out - he reminded / suggested that I should go set that up for him since I can.
He's great and a real amazing help and honestly couldn't ask for anyone better to be my significant other. Things kinda suck cause we are on and off again long distance due to college so we only get to physically be around each other during breaks, but theoretically we should be almost done with that so hopefully we can move in together soon.
Honestly dating with DID really isn't that hard or complex if you have a partner that is good with communication, understanding, mature (in like, responsibility, I would die before I called my fiance mature in personality, he makes fart and poop jokes regularly), and just generally a good reliable person. Its a very different / atypical relationship dynamic, but its a very enjoyable dynamic for the both of us.
If you are curious on more, I have tagged in the past some previous posts / asks about DID and relationships over here in my relationships tag. A lot of it is probably outdated so do take it with a grain of salt since I haven't heavily used this blog for like a year and a half - but there might be some things that might interest you.
...
oh and I was looking in the tags from two or three years ago (we have like 18 parts, he knows and interacts with about half of them) when my fiance was taking asks though this blog and someone asked what it is like to date us and his reply was
"It’s like dating someone who is wonderful and awesome who has 7 identical twins that they swap with intermittently and you have to be able to tell the difference between them all because not all of them see you in that way
Also one is British for some reason so that makes figuring it out easier
It is also a lot of letting [them] vent into the void of messenger and realizing whatever I’m going to say isn’t gonna do too much to help” -Fiance

Lock & Key
Tumblr media
Genre: Best Friends to Lovers, Fluff, Angst
Pairing: Jungkook/Reader
Warnings: cursing, dirty jokes
Synopsis: When Jungkook ditches you on your birthday, your friendship looks like it’s about to crumble. Your friend group becomes tired of your bickering and decides to take the matter into their own hands. Somehow, you and Jungkook find yourselves handcuffed together.
"Have you guys found a present for Y/N yet?" Jin asked, picking up his third pizza slice and taking a large bite, the cheese stretching as he pulled it away from his lips.
"You haven't gotten it yet? Her birthday dinner is tomorrow," Taehyung said. His eyes were tired, but he'd still insisted on joining the party despite having just gotten off a long train ride, as he hadn't seen his friends from high school for months. "I got her the first two manga in that series she's been wanting to read."
"Mmm," Jin said, seeming to consider Taehyung's choice of gift. "I need mine to be really special. He finished his pizza to the crust and turned it 180 degrees and bit into the end. "Jungkook, you're closest to Y/N. What are you getting her?"
Jungkook turned, wide-eyed towards Jin. The younger's face was already a bit flushed from the beers and from the mention of your name. "I'm paying for her part of the meal tomorrow and I got her tickets to that musical that's only in town for one night."
"Woah, that's gonna be hard to beat," Jimin said, "Y/N hasn't stopped talking about that musical since they announced it. Remember how she went crazy over it in the group chat?"
"I'm sure Y/N will like whatever you get her," Jungkook said. "She isn't very picky and she'll appreciate it because it came from you."
"I know. I just have something special planned and I want it to be perfect." The six other guys looked to the eldest expectantly. Jin sighed. "Gosh, fine, I'll tell you. I plan on confessing to her tomorrow."
"What? You like Y/N?! Since when?"
"Woah, congrats man!"
"You'll make such a cute couple."
The group fell to chaos, but Jungkook was notably the least excited. At the mention of Jin's plans, he sunk back against the wall and took a large bite of his pizza, followed by a gulp of beer.
"I'm not sure when I started liking her," Jin said. "I just kind of realized that I do. I figured we are friends and I'll regret it if I don't give it a shot."
"Are you sure her birthday is the best time to confess?" Jungkook asked, finally piping up. "What if things don't go well and you ruin it? Are you going to do it in front of everyone?"
"I thought about it and I'm going to wait until after the meal. Maybe I'll be able to steal her away for a few moments after she opens our gifts."
Jungkook's nose wrinkled and he was obviously unsatisfied with the answer. Yet, he dropped it and reached for another slice of pizza. "Why does it matter to you Jungkook? It's not like we all still won't hang out or that you'll never see her."
"Y/N's been hurt before. I'm sure you remember how upset she was after Minsung. I had to sleep in her bed for two weeks because she'd wake up crying. I never want her to feel that hurt again."
"Jungkook, I won't hurt her. She's more likely to hurt me. Why do you care so much about her heart being broken anyway? You're not the one who broke it and you aren't responsible for fixing it. Y/N's a big girl, she can handle herself."
Jungkook pouted. "I have to pee," he said, standing up and leaving the room, carrying his pizza slice with him.

An array of appetizers were spread across the table, a few bites taken from each. You were just waiting on the last three to show up: Jimin, Taehyung, and Jungkook. You expected them to come together as they had been nearly inseparable in high school. As Jin finished off one of the appetizers, you spotted Jimin and Taehyung walking in. You got up and rushed towards them.
"Happy birthday!" Jimin and Taehyung said, nearly tripping each other as they ran to hug you. "It's been too long, Y/N!" The two boys had moved out of the city for college and you rarely got to see them. You didn't know what you do if Jungkook--your best friend--had gone with them.
"I'm so glad you guys could make it! Come on and sit down, we're just waiting on Jungkook."
The appetizers were gone and the missing chair at the table remained. Worry grew in your throat and you glanced down at your phone for the umpteenth time to see if he had texted you. Even, just a simple "Running late!" or "Stuck in traffic!" would calm your nerves.
"Have you guys heard from Jungkook at all?"
The other guys all shook their heads and gave you sympathetic looks. You'd put off ordering, but it'd been nearly an hour since most of you arrived and you didn't want to keep the staff waiting any longer. "All right, let's order."
"I'm sure he just got stuck in traffic or something, Y/n," Jin said, reaching out and tapping your hand.
Tumblr media
Your heart dropped as you read his last reply. You felt tears stinging your eyes, but you pushed them back before the other guys could notice.
"He's not coming," you said.
"What?" you heard someone ask, but you were too focused on not allowing your spiraling thoughts ruin your birthday and holding back tears to register who it was.
"He said he got a date or something. I don't know, but come on, we can enjoy this without him."
Due to the solemn looks on their faces, you knew they saw right through your facade. You and Jungkook had been best friends since elementary school where he accidentally trampled you when he was racing his friends. Despite ending up with a badly skinned knee and a couple of bruises, you were fine, but Jungkook had insisted on taking you to the nurse's office anyway. He pretended to sprain his ankle just so he could sit and keep you company.
What had happened since then? You'd never felt like your friendship was dwindling when it came to Jungkook. Whenever either of you dated, it didn't make a difference. High school graduation didn't separate you. Not even when Jungkook forced you to a haunted house in high school and laughed when he saw the stain on your jeans and realized you'd peed your pants in fright.
Despite ignoring for Overwatch or coming to your apartment just for the free food, he always ended up doing small things to make up for it. You often found chocolate bars stashed in the odd drawer or cupboard to make up for all the food he steals. After he finished laughing, Jungkook allowed you to wear his sweatshirt to cover it and bought you new jeans. You still had that sweatshirt stashed in your closet somewhere.
vVv
The tears stopped by the end of dinner, but now anger ran down your spine. How dare he skip your birthday for someone he just met? He'd never done anything like this before, he was the one person in this world that you could depend on, and now he's not. You feel a pang of sadness in your stomach and reach out for your portion of the bill, which Jungkook had promised to pay for.
"Stop," Jin said, reaching for the bill you'd just barely wrapped your fingertips around. "You're not paying. We'll split yours." You nodded, powerless to the eldest's tone.
After the bill was paid, everyone got up and starting readying to leave. You had taken a taxi, expecting Jungkook to take you home afterward. Jin seemed to notice, his brown eyes melting when they met yours.
"Hey, come on, I'll walk you home."
You nodded and waved goodbye to the other guys as you all walked in opposite directions or climbed into taxis. You didn't catch the other guys thumbs upping Jin and giving him reassuring smiles.
"Thanks for coming," you said. "Even though it kinda got ruined."
"I'll always come, Y/N."
"Oh, when I get a hold of his bunny ass--"
"Go easy on him, Y/N. I'm sure he has a better reason than he told you."
"He better be on his death bed then."
Jin let out a snort, which caused you to smile, but the smile soon faded and so did the fake happiness the anger made you feel. Now you just felt hopeless and felt the tears stinging in your sinuses again.
"Do," you said, already your voice faltering. "you think I'm still enough?"
Jin stopped. "What do you mean?"
"Am I still enough for him? Maybe he found a better friend," you said, your gaze painting the sidewalk. "I mean, I always rely on him. He's always my shoulder to cry on. Maybe he finally got tired of it. Got tired of me."
Jin placed a hand on your shoulder. It felt odd, as Jin wasn't one for skinship, but his touch was comforting, even if you were imagining it was Jungkook's. Except you couldn't, Jungkook's touch was old, familiar, warm. Like the fireplace at your grandparent's house or when your car is completely heated on a snowy day. Jin's--sure, it was warm--but it wasn't Jungkook.
"No, no, of course not," Jin said, moving to hug you, your cheek hitting his chest. "That could never happen. You and Jungkook have been friends for years. If he was gonna get tired of you, he would've already."
You scoffed, half in laughter and half in fear. "Thanks."
"Okay, but seriously, Jungkook cares about you. A lot." Jin paused and sighed. You looked up, noticing his eyes weren't on you, but rather he was looking up. His eyes looked glazed, but you didn't remember him having any drinks. "He wouldn't allow himself to lose you, Y/N. Trust me."
The rest of the walk was filled with a comfortable silence. It was only a few more blocks from where you'd stopped, so you reached your apartment in just a few minutes.
"Thanks for walking with me," you said. "Sorry, I got kinda sad halfway through."
Jin shook his head and reached to move a piece of your ponytail that had escaped from the hairband and fallen roguishly over your head.
"You don't need to apologize for your feelings, Y/N. Just promise me you won't kill the kid. I'm sure this is all just a misunderstanding."
You nodded, although you weren't convinced that Jungkook didn't now hate you for reasons you didn't know.
"Thanks," you said. "For everything."
Jin nodded. "You're welcome." He turned and walked into the night and you turned your back before he disappeared.
vVv
"How did the confession go?" Jimin asked, as soon as Jin walked into the small apartment he shared with Yoongi, which was now cramped with six bodies.
"It didn't."
Jimin and the other faces in the room all contorted in confusion. "What do you mean?"
"I didn't confess."
"But, why? Wasn't that your plan? Don't you like her?"
"She loves someone else," Jin said, his voice deeper than usual, his heartbreak captured in the back of his throat. "And, someone else loves her."
vVv
Two Days Later
You hadn't heard anything from Jungkook since the night of your birthday and you weren't sure what hurt more--the fact that he didn't care enough to explain himself or that he had seemingly replaced you. His Instagram was full of stories and posts of him with the girl you assumed was the one he skipped your birthday for. She was beautiful with large dark eyes and curly hair. His arm was around her shoulders and then eventually her waist. He must really like her because you remember how it took Jungkook nearly two years just to feel comfortable placing an arm around you.
You huffed and threw your phone onto your bed as you ran your hands through your hair. You were still mad, but you didn't want to lose your best friend. You remembered Taehyung mentioning how all the guys were getting together for Overwatch.
You hardly thought as you headed towards Jin's and Yoongi's apartment--the largest of the apartments belonging to those in your friend group.
You didn't bother knocking as you entered the apartment. You found the seven guys all crowded onto two couches and watching Taehyung and Jungkook. They didn't notice you until you slipped in and placed your hand  on Jimin's shoulder—who jumped at your touch.
"Y/N!"
All seven heads turned to look at you. Most breaking into smiles and friendly greetings and offering you snacks.
"What are you doing here?" Jungkook asked, his voice breaking through the revelry. He was normally so soft-spoken, but at this moment, his voice grated through the air.
"I was hoping we could talk."
"You weren't invited here."
Your stomach turned. He'd never spoken to you like this, ever. Jungkook was normally the happiest when you showed up unannounced.
"Since when do I need an invitation, Jungkook? This is Jin and Yoongi's place, not yours."
Jungkook didn't respond but instead unpaused the game. Taehyung barely had time to close his mouth from watching the two of you that he fumbled with the controller as he realized Jungkook had restarted the game.
"Oh, so you're just gonna ignore me then?"
You rolled your eyes at how typical this was of all your ex-boyfriends. Towards the end of the relationship, they always ignored you for something else. Sometimes it was someone else, others it was their job. And yet, others, it was video games.
Jungkook had been there with you for all of these failed relationships. He said you deserved someone better, someone, who would never leave you or ignore you. You thought he was the only constant in your life, the one person who would never leave you, but now, he was just like all the rest.
Tears stung your sinuses. You dug your feet into the carpet and grabbed onto the back of the couch, trying to focus on the game. The guys had gone back to talking amongst themselves, eating, and watching the game. Yet, the air felt different, you caught concerned glances flicking your way and Jin silently offered you a slice of pizza which you declined, only eliciting another puppy-eyed look from the eldest of the group.
Jungkook was close to winning and the tears were soon beginning to simmer and your hands balled into fists. Before you could think or stop yourself, you marched around the couch and reached for the cord that was connected to the Xbox. The screen went black and all the eyes in the room shifted to you.
"Y/N?! What the fuck?!" Jungkook said, his voice rising. "I was about to win!"
"Jungkook, we need to talk and you're being an asshole."
Jungkook's ears were red and his eyes hard as steel. "This is ridiculous, Y/N. You came here uninvited to talk to me and when I go back to playing games because that's what I'm here for, you unplugged the system and demand I talk to you. And, I'm the asshole?"
You wanted to scream and pull your hair out. Yet, the thing you wanted most was to cry into Jungkook's oversized, black T-shirt because you knew it smelled of his cologne.
"Jungkook, you skipped my birthday party and you said we could talk about it, but it's been two days and I just want my best friend back."
"Y/N, why can't you just take the hint you're not wanted? This was supposed to be a guy's night and now you've had to come in here and ruin everything. You're way too clingy, like, this is why they always leave you."
"Jungkook!" Jin said.
You barely registered as the other boys chastised Jungkook as your vision blurred from the tears. You swore you saw his face soften before your eyes were totally filled with tears, but you couldn't be sure.
"Y/N," Jin said. You felt his hand come to rest gently on your shoulder. "Come on, I'll take you home."
vVv
A few days later you found yourself standing outside of Jungkook's apartment. You knew Taehyung and Jimin were staying with him, so you secretly hoped one of them would open the door.
The hallway was silent and dimly lit. It felt like midnight despite being noon. You softly knocked on the door, the sound--while quiet--seemed to echo down the hallway. You weren't sure what you were going to do or say when he opened the door. You were only sure that you missed the way he used to show up at your place at midnight with ice cream sandwiches or the way he let you borrow his sweatshirts when you were cold or couldn't sleep.
Thirty seconds passed and you knocked again. Firmer this time, each knock ringing out in the empty hallway.
"Jungkookie," you said softly.
You heard footsteps on the other side of the door. They were faint, but you recognized them from when he slept over at your apartment when you were sick or going through a rough time.
You listened as the door unlocked and slowly opened. He only opened the door a crack, just enough to peak out, as if you were an unknown person knocking on his door. As if you didn't know the layout of his apartment or that he kept all his mess concentrated to the common areas and his bedroom immaculate.
"Y/N...what are you doing here?"
His voice was softer than the last time you spoke. You knew Jin had told Jungkook how much you cried as he took you home and how you didn't answer his texts all night.
"I just wanted to see you," you said. "We don't have to talk or anything. I just miss you."
Jungkook didn't say anything. His eyes scanning over you. Your hair was unwashed and pulled into a bun and you wore sweatpants and a T-shirt. Dark circles outlined your eyes and even though it had only been a few days, your face looked thinner and your skin languid.
Another set of footsteps approached and the door swung open wider. Taehyung stood there in just his boxers and munching on a piece of toast. His eyes widened when he saw you and he glanced over at Jungkook, who's eyes were looking down at your feet.
"Hey, stop being a dick and let her in."
"Put on some clothes then," Jungkook said, his voice quiet and low, almost a growl. He swung the door all the way open and disappeared into his apartment.
Taehyung met your eyes and shrugged. He offered a small smile as you walked into the apartment. You hadn't brought anything with you, not sure exactly what would happen.
"I won't stay long," you said. "I just wanted to see him."
"At least have breakfast with me," he said, dropping two pieces of bread into the toaster.
You nodded and fell onto the couch. You'd done this countless times. At 4 in the morning after a night out, you'd collapse on Jungkook's couch still in your heels and your makeup slowly wearing off. You usually woke up the next morning in Jungkook's bed, your heels set by the door and your makeup at least mostly wiped off. At 6 pm as you leaned against Jungkook's shoulder as the movie started, your hand diving into the popcorn bowl in his lap. Most of your favorite memories happened on his couch.
"I hope you like Nutella," Tae said, handing you a piece of toast.
You laughed. "I love it," you said. "How do you stay so fit eating like this?"
Taehyung was still in his boxers. While he didn't have a six pack, he certainly wasn't hard to look at and the slight toning of his stomach showed he was putting in some effort.
"I'll gain five pounds just from eating this," you said, and despite your words, you took a large bite.
"Then you should have another," Jungkook said from the other side of the room. You hadn't noticed him there, he must've slipped in when Taehyung distracted you with the toast. "You're getting too skinny."
"I didn't ask you, Jungkook," you said. You crossed your arms over your chest and sat back, your toast abandoned on the arm of the couch.
"I'm just worried about you."
"Since when? When you stopped texting me? Or, when you ditched my birthday party for someone you just met?"
Jungkook's eyes turned soft in the way that would usually make you melt. But, you kept your eyes off of his and your spine straight.
"Y/N..."
"Listen, Jungkook, I might've come here cause I missed you, but that doesn't mean I've forgiven you."
Jungkook didn't say anything. Silence filled the apartment and after what felt like an eternity, he left to his bedroom.
"Are you okay?" Taehyung asked.
You nodded. "I think I just need a nap or something. I'm getting a headache." You looked around the apartment. There was only one bedroom and both Taehyung and Jimin were staying with Jungkook during their visit. "Where are you sleeping?"
Taehyung nodded and gestured toward the couch. "There," he said.
"Oh," you said. "Can I borrow it for an hour or so?"
"Be my guest. But, you know, even though you two are fighting and all, I bet Jungkook would let you have the bed."
You shook your head. "No," you said. "I'm not asking him for any favors and the couch looks more comfortable anyway."
Taehyung shrugged. You laid down and turned your back to him, missing the knowing smile as he cleaned up. You listened as he cleaned up and got dressed before leaving the apartment. It wasn't long before the tears came and you sobbed into the couch cushion as quietly as you could. The last thing you wanted was for Jungkook to emerge from his bedroom and find you like this.
He'd seen you cry dozens of times and you'd even held him as he sobbed into you. You didn't mind crying in front of him, but you knew it would destroy him to see you like this and to know he was the cause. Even if you mad at him, even if you were losing him, you didn't want to crush him.
You didn't remember falling asleep, but when you awoke, his scent was everywhere. You pressed your face into the pillow and stretched out your legs comfortably. You sighed until a thought crossed your mind. Pillow?
You opened your eyes and found yourself in Jungkook's bedroom. It was dark and the covers were pulled up to your chin. Jungkook wasn't in the room and from the empty feeling in the air, he wasn't in the apartment either. Your phone was next to you on the nightstand and plugged into Jungkook's charger.
You glanced at the time and realized your nap had lasted three times longer than you anticipated and you sat in bed as you realized that you probably needed to go home. However, before you could pull your eyes away from your lock screen, a text notification from a couple of hours ago caught your attention.

"Hey, sorry, I'm late," Taehyung said, walking into Jin and Yoongi's apartment where the other five boys were already crowded on the twin couches. "Y/N showed up at Jungkook's and I needed to see what happened."
The others all looked at Taehyung expectantly. "Jungkook doesn't know about this, right?"
"We didn't tell him."
Taehyung nodded. "Well, they're definitely in love with each other. Jungkook was jealous as hell and Y/N's heartbroken. I could practically see Jungkook splitting in half when he realized how upset she was."
"Well, didn't you all notice how when she started crying after he got mad at her for unplugging the Xbox, how he just broke? I don't think he cared about the game anymore, but then Jin swooped in and stopped it before he could apologize."
All eyes swiped towards Jin and he shrugged. "What? She was to the point of crying. I didn't know what he was going to do and I didn't want to upset either of them more."
"Does he know that you never confessed?"
Jin shook his head. "He never asked."
"Jin!" all the guys said at one.
"That would change everything! He probably thinks you and Y/N are together."
"It's pretty obvious we're not."
"I don't know the way you intervened during the fight and walked her home. It could be seen as you protecting her."
"Well, whatever, what's the plan? We have to get them to make up somehow. And confess, cause they're gonna drive us crazy pining after each other." Jin looked around at the other faces and all of them were, in turn, watching him.
"Well, we need to force them to be alone somehow," Namjoon said. "We could try locking them somewhere, but that's gonna be difficult cause the party is here and none of the doors lock." Eyes wandered as they tried to find a solution and eventually, Jin's eyes fell on the TV where a cartoon cop was catching a criminal, the handcuffs snapping down on the culprit's wrists.
"I think I might have an idea."
vVv
Taehyung and Jimin were taking the train back to their college town in the morning, so that meant you'd all spend the night before getting drunk and gorging yourselves on all the pizza you could.
Jin and Yoongi offered to host the party and a few of their neighbors offered up their apartments so everyone could spread out. You all invited your extended friends and neighbors if everyone came, you didn't doubt the party would probably get out of hand, but that was half the fun.
As you brushed on your blush and primped your hair for the final time, you felt butterflies in your stomach. Jungkook was going to be there. There was no way he would miss out on a good party and the opportunity for free food and drinks.
You wore a short white dress that was admittedly a little shorter than you would normally wear. But, with Jungkook ignoring you, you wanted attention and you didn't really care who it was from. Plus, you liked the way it hugged your curves and how when paired with the perfect heels, made your legs look longer.
You arrived a few minutes early to the party with the expectation of helping set up, but the party was already in full swing. When the elevator opened, people crowded the hall with cups in hand and music blasting from Jin and Yoongi's apartment. At this rate, the cops would be called in a couple hours, unless Jin and Yoongi had talked to all their neighbors beforehand, but you highly doubted it.
You waded through the bodies and found your friends all invested in a game of beer pong. The younger three on one end and the older four on the other. The older ones were currently winning and you smirked as you remembered just how good Yoongi was at the game.
"Need help?" you asked, placing your arm around Taehyung's shoulders, the heels allowing you to do so easier, although it still looked slightly awkward.
"Ah, finally! Someone who can rival Yoongi!"
You laughed, trying not to allow your eyes to wander over to Jungkook who was standing closer to you than he had for weeks. "Who's turn is it?"
"Yours if you want."
You nodded and walked up to the table. You angled your arm and aimed for one of the back cups, even if you missed, it may still land in one of the front cups that remained. You tossed the ping pong ball and it sailed perfectly into the cup.
"Yes! Drink up, Min Yoongi!"
Yoongi smirked and took the cup and downed it. You two had played this game countless time, both won and lost countless times, to the point that it was no longer about winning, but rather, who could get the other drunk quicker.
Yoongi aimed his shot and tossed it flawlessly into the cup right in front of you. You took out the ball and downed the cup. The beer was pretty much tasteless which meant it went down easily but left a bad taste in the back of your throat.
After a few shots back and forth, you had drunk twice more and Yoongi once. You were aiming up another shot, intending to tie it up when you felt a hand on your shoulder. You looked behind you and caught Jungkook's eyes.
"Are you gonna let us play?"
"Do you want to win or not?" you said, turning back and aiming up your shot. You were already a little tipsy and your head ached as you concentrated.
"Y/N, it'll be no fun to get drunk so early," he said. "Come on." His voice was soft and familiar. He'd done this dozens of times. Prevented you from getting too drunk or going home with the wrong guy. He brought you back when the alcohol began to take over. This time--however--you turned away and aimed the ball. Missing.
Yoongi tosses the ball in what appears to be a haphazard fashion, but it sinks straight into a cup. You pick it up and bring it to your lips, but before you can drink, the cup is being knocked from your hands and the beer spills almost entirely onto your dress.
You see Jungkook staring at you wide-eyed--the obvious culprit--his hand still gripping the cup.
"Jungkook!" you yelled, people turned in your direction, but your yell was soon forgotten as the music continued. All but your small group turned back to their own conversations. "Would you stop trying to be my friend? You made it quite obvious you no longer wanted our friendship and you just keep screwing everything up!"
"Y/N, I..."
Tears were beginning to fill your eyes and the only thing you wanted to do was get drunk and forget this night happened. You stepped forward to push through the crowd when someone grabbed your wrist. You knew from the touch that it wasn't Jungkook and when you glanced back, Jin's lips were upturned in a small smile.
"Wait, Y/N," he said. "I'm really sorry about this."
You cocked your head in confusion, but before your lips could form words to ask Jin what he was apologizing for you felt something click onto your wrist and found a handcuff locked around your wrist and you noticed the other was locked to another wrist. You followed the chain and met Jungkook's dark, confused eyes.
"Have fun, kids. We aren't unlocking you until you talk everything out."
vVv
Ten minutes later you stood in the kitchen as Jungkook tried to work a kitchen knife into the lock. The beer was slowly making your dress more and more see-through and you glanced around the room.
"Jungkook, can we try this somewhere else?"
He looked up at you with his brows furrowed in confusion. You hadn't managed to say anything before his eyes widened and he quickly shrugged off his flannel. It caught on his cuff and he struggled to get the sleeve over the handcuff and chain.
"Fuck it," he said, taking the knife and cutting into the seam where the sleeve met the shoulder.
"Jungkook isn't this a bit drastic? We can just go into the bathroom or something."
"No, it's okay. I can just cut off the other one later."
He brought around the uncut sleeve and brought over your shoulder and brought the cut sleeve over the chain and up your arm. The way the flannel hit it ended up covering your entire dress and draping across your bare thighs.
As soon as you were covered and comfortable again, he once again tried to unlock the handcuffs and your hand was at his mercy as he moved the knife point back and forth in the lock.
"Jungkook, this isn't going to work. You're just gonna end up hurting one of us."
Jungkook sat the knife back on the counter looked down dejectedly at your cuffed wrists. You couldn't help the pang of hurt in your stomach. Jin had handcuffed the two of you so you would talk and all Jungkook could focus was on how to get the handcuffs off without talking.
"Maybe we can break the chain," he said. "If we both pull, our combined strength might be enough."
Your wrist was already starting to become red and raw because Jin had accidentally snapped the cuff on a little tight, but before you could protest, Jungkook began pulling on the chain.
You immediately yelped in pain and your wrist attempted to escape the pain, causing your body to fold in on itself. You found yourself crouched and leaning against the counter, your arm almost straight above your head to remain close enough to Jungkook's so that it didn't dislocate the joint.
"Y/N?" Your name was barely audible over the music and the people around you many of which shot odd glances or coy smiles your way.
"It's tight, Jungkook. Jin accidentally locked it too tight. Can--can we just go talk and get these things off?"
Jungkook nodded, seeing your teary eyes from the pain and helping you to your feet. His free palm came to rest on your shoulder and his handcuffed hand grasped your wrist and he slipped two of his fingers between your skin and the cuff. It was the first time he'd touched you since before your birthday and you felt your knees go weak and something shifted in you with his touch. The plate tectonics of your heart shifting suddenly and with no warning.
"Let's go to the bathroom, first."
You were confused as he pulled you into the bathroom and situated you against the counter. He reached into the cupboard behind you and pulled out some lotion and squirted it onto his handcuffed hand. He rubbed it softly onto your wrist where the handcuff had rubbed the skin red and raw.
"Better?"
You nodded and looked up at his face which hovered not far above yours but was focused down on your wrist. His jaw was clenched and his features were stiff. He reached into his back pocket and pulled out the sleeve he'd cut from his flannel.
"I think if we roll this down we can put it between the cuff and your wrist. It might make it feel tight, but it won't hurt you so much."
He rolled the sleeve down under it was a single cuff which he carefully slipped over your hand and under the cuff. It did work, your skin feeling relieved from the lotion and the cloth, although it did still feel slightly too tight.
"Thanks," you said. "But, maybe we should get out of here. I don't want your girlfriend to get the wrong idea."
Jungkook met your eyes. "What? Girlfriend?"
"The girl you went on the date with?"
"Oh, it uh, didn't work out."
"Oh, I'm sorry."
"Don't be."
There was a long pause as Jungkook continued to adjust the cuff to ensure it stayed. His eyes were focused on your wrist.
"I'm sorry," he said. "For saying you were clingy and bringing your exes into this. I'm sorry for everything."
You looked down at him, your free hand coming to play with the hairs that grew around his ears. His hair was longer than you'd ever seen it and you smiled as he seemed to lean into your hand.
Jungkook finished adjusting the cuff and looked up at you. "I think Yoongi's room is empty. He didn't want people in there, but I bet he won't mind if it's us."
You nodded and followed closely behind Jungkook as you walked through the crowd to Yoongi's bedroom. It--like Jungkook had said--was empty. The two of you flopped down on the bed and despite laying a foot apart your fingers continued to brush against each other as you adjusted your wrists in the cuffs.
"I can't figure out why Jin handcuffed us," Jungkook said. The music was just a series of thumps now and even though it was still loud, you could no longer make out the lyrics and could hear Jungkook's voice without him having to raise it. "I thought he wouldn't want us to hang out anymore."
"What?" you asked. "Why would Jin care if we hang out?"
Jungkook turned and looked at you. His hair was wet from sweat and his hair curled in thick tendrils over his forehead. "Aren't you and Jin dating?"
"What? No! Jin and I are just friends. What makes you think that?"
"Jin told me he was gonna confess to you at your party."
Jungkook pulled his gaze from you and focused up at the ceiling. You thought back on that night. Jin had been acting more generous and gentlemanly that night, but you just chalked it up to it being your birthday.
"I didn't even know he liked me. Is that why you've been avoiding me? You thought I was with Jin and you didn't want to interfere?"
"That's part of it."
"What's the other part of it?"
His eyes came back to yours and you felt his fingers brushing against yours. But, it wasn't just the millisecond brushes as he adjusted. No, his fingers were practically intertwined with yours.
"Y/N, we've been friends so long...I don't want to ruin it..."
"Jungkook, it's already ruined."
There was a long tense silence between the of you. His fingers fully intertwined with yours. It was far from the first time you'd held his hand, but it felt different. It was softer, yet more intense at the same time. As if your hand were porcelain that could break at even the slightest touch.
Jungkook moved so quickly that you have no idea how he came to hover above you. His free arm resting above his head and the one handcuffed to you still intertwined with yours to the side. "What would've happened if Jin had confessed to you?"
"Kookie?"
"What would've happened?"
"I-I would've turned him down."
"Why?"
"Cause I'm in love with someone else."
His lips were on your before you even finished the sentence. He was gentle but urgent as if he'd been waiting two thousand years to kiss you.
"I'm still mad at you for skipping my birthday party," you said when he pulled away. "I don't care if you're in love with me, your cute ass still has a lot of making up to do."
Jungkook smiled as he leaned down placed a small kiss on your neck. "Well, I never got to give you my gift."
He reached into his back pocket and pulled out two tickets. You grabbed them from his hands and you smiled as you realized it was for the musical you'd been dying to see.
"It's tomorrow," he said. "Pretty good first date, yeah?"
"Hey, don't get cocky yet!" It was hard for you to hide your smile and you didn't want to give him the satisfaction, so, you just leaned up and kissed him.
vVv
You woke up the next morning enveloped in Jungkook's arms and his one-armed flannel. You looked up to see him scrolled through his phone, but when you squirmed, he looked down at you.
"Good morning, baby," he said.
"That sounds so weird."
"What, baby?" He smirked and giggled as you reached up and playfully hit his shoulder.
"Wait," you said, looking at your unbound wrist. You looked down and found the handcuffs on the bed. "They must've uncuffed us last night."
"I hadn't even realized," he said. A blush appeared on his face. "I didn't want to let go of your hand."
"Aww," you said, reaching up and ruffling his hair. "You're such a softie."
Jungkook smirked and grabbed your wrists. "Hey, I'm not completely a softie."
He held your wrists and glanced down at the handcuffs. "Maybe, we should keep these."

Tumblr media
The whole room went quiet at Prince Donghyuck's words, even his parents stood agape, Y/n herself was starting in disbelief mouth slightly open "Y-You're highness?" She asks "you've mistaken"
Donghyuck laughs and stands up, reaching to hold her hand "Really my love? Are you that mad?" He lifts her hand and kisses her knuckles softly, smiling softly and lovingly but Y/n knows that there was something underneath that charming smile "I know that you don't want the secret out yet but I can't just stand back as my parents force me to live someone else when the love of my life is right behind me"
Y/n still couldn't get over how Prince Donghyuck was acting and why was it directed at her "but My Lord-" she was cut off by a smiling Prince squeezing her hand a little too hard
"It's Donghyuck, my love." He says as a matter of fact "we've had this conversation before, remember"
She was still shock and Prince Donghyuck held her hand tighter, "play along" he whispered that even she has thought it was her imagination, in all honesty, she should've denied it, she should've said no but if she does the prince will be denoted as a liar so instead she nodded slowly and through clenched teeth "Donghyuck" and just like that a big smile graced the princes' nature "are you still mad at me my love?"
She was sure, she hated the prince, pf all the maids of all the people why her? She shakes her head, still staring at the prince
Prince Lee Donghyuck's parents stared in disbelief at the scene "For how long?" The queen spoke, looking at their intertwined hands "why didn't you say anything Hyuck?"
Prince Donghyuck's acting was on point, he made an effort to make it look like he didn't want to look away from Y/n and smiled sheepishly to his parents "turning two years on my birthday" He confessed, and looked back at her. She tried her best to not roll her eyes at the Prince's words "She was the one who told me to keep it a secret"
She glared at the Prince, Oh fuck you, she couldn't help but think, Prince Donghyuck smiled sweetly at her "Excuse me mother, your highness" he says and bows to Prince Jeno's parents "I would like to speak to Y/n privately" he motions and she bows to the King and Queen only to be dragged out by Prince Donghyuck
Tumblr media
"Oh thank you" Prince Donghyuck spoke after they were out of earshot, readjusting his suit as he spoke "it was getting annoying on how they keep forcing me to marry" she still hasn't spoken, one cause she was speechless and two cause he still hasn't allowed her to. He looks at her with a raised eyebrow "speak, you're allowed to, you're my fiancé now"
"Fiancé but my Lord-" she spoke and he cuts her off with a "Donghyuck" and she shook her head "You're the prince, Your Highness." she points out and looks at the prince "I can't-You can't"
"And why not?" he asked looking at her, you do know there are hundreds of ladies who would do anything to be my bride"
She sighs and looks up at him "Than ask them, not a maid like me" he smiles amused "is that what you were worried about?"
"My Lord-"
"Donghyuck"
"My Lord, you are a prince, and your bride should be someone who knows how to be a queen someday"
"Tempting, but honestly I'd rather just marry you, I already made an announcement and you agreed, you could've denied"
"Then you would've been a liar!" she yelled and covered her mouth, bowing a full ninety degrees as an apology "forgive me, but I only thought of the royal families well being if you have been exposed, you're whole family would be in trouble"
He wrapped his finger under her chin so she'll look at him "Oh my love, You do know a little something when it comes to royalty"
She pulled away readjusting her dress and looked at the prince as he sighs and nods "Please, Its the modern age and my father is still worried he won't have any heirs, marry me and I'll make sure you, you're family is safe and will get whatever it is you all want"
Anger bubbled up on Y/n's chest at his words, does he actually think that she will agree by that promise? that she could be easily persuaded by money? Yes, it's tempting, she won't lie but not like this, she won't, She absolutely refused. "Do you actually think I can be easily persuaded by that?" her voice was quiet and The Prince looked at her in shock, in all twenty years of his life he has never encountered anyone, much less a peasant to tell him off, it was always Yes Prince Donghyuck, Whatever you say, My Prince "I'm sorry, My Prince but when we return to the kingdom, I will tell the King and Queen the truth" she replies and storms off and out of the room, taking long and careful steps to back to the dining hall, with the Prince at her heals trying to reason with her
"Y/n can't I attempt to make to change your mind?" He asked and grabbed her wrist pulling her so that she'll face him or even better fall into his arms
"My Prince-" she gasped in surprise at the tug spinning around only to collide face-first to The Prince's chest
"Oh my" Prince Chenle's voice was heard and he smiled at the sight "You and Hyuck Hyung are so cute" he gives a comment which made Y/n blush and shakes her head, pulling away from Donghyuck "No wait, Prince Chenle-"
And he just smiles approaching the couple and bowed politely at her "Please It's Chenle when there are no cameras," he jokes and takes her hand in his, pressing a polite kiss on her knuckles "Noona"
A blush covers Y/n's cheeks at the young prince's words "Your Highness-"
"Chenle" He corrects and grins, pulling away from her "Hyuck Hyung, I can't believe you're engaged, you should've seen the look on You're parents face" he slaps his hand in delight "And Lucas Hyung literally started choking when you left"
Prince Donghyuck was quiet as the younger spoke still holding on to Y/n's hand "You found it amusing?"
"No not really," He confessed "I wish the two of you have announced your relationship early, I would've loved to meet the new member of our family," he hums "what were you afraid of Noona? did we scare you?"
Y/n bows her head but didn't reply and Prince Chenle smiled softly "Don't be shy, we're family now" he says and walks back towards the dining hall, leaving Y/n alone with Prince Donghyuck
She looks down at where the prince has her wrist, pulling it away and taking a step back, bowing and following after Prince Chenle
Tumblr media
Upon entering the dining hall with Prince Donghyuck behind her, looking at her from the corner of his eye
"Did you guys fight?" Prince Mark asked and stood up greeting Y/n with a kiss on the knuckles "Hyuck here looks like a kicked puppy" He leads you through the ball with Hyuck sitting on his chair
"Prince Mark" she murmured cautiously as he laughs and shakes his head
"Mark Oppa" he pats his chest and motions to every prince in the room "Lucas Oppa, Renjun, Jeno, Jaemin, Chenle, Jisung"
She shakes her head, not wanting to call them by their first name when all of a sudden Prince Donghyuck's Parents stood up and bowed. She yelped "No please your highness, don't bow," she says and shakes her head
"We're sorry, My Child" She spoke "It must be been uncomfortable when we spoke about Hyuck to get a girlfriend when you're here," she reached out to tuck a piece of hair behind her head "Forgive us for being selfish, and causing the fight between you and Hyuck"
She didn't reply in shock and bowed to the King and Queen just as Hyuck goes behind her, holding her shoulders to lead her to the seat "sit down and eat with us"
"Have you eaten, Noona?" Jisung asks as he takes a bite of his meal, he runs his fingers through his hair as he looked at the girl, cheeks stuffed with food
She shakes her head and everyone started ushering her to eat while she sat down on a chair beside Prince Donghyuck "no please eat, I'm not hungry" She looks around but there was no maid or butler around, this won't be an easy conversation later, and a sigh left her lips, playing with the steak In her plate
There was a chorus of whines and groans, ushering her to eat and that she shouldn't be so polite, Donghyuck on the other hand watched her play with her food. He started cutting his steak into small bite-size pieces, grabbing his plate and looking at her "let's exchange plates"
Y/n looked at him, "what?" She asked but it was too late, Prince Donghyuck has already exchanged their plates, the cut-up, bite-sized pieces for her and an untouched steak for him
"I already cut it up," he shrugged and smiled "it's yours"
As the room started to giggle and whisper with the conversation, Y/n took a bite
Tumblr media
The room was quiet other than the pleasant atmosphere of conversation when Renjun spoke "Y/n" he calls making the female stand up on impulse, her head bowed and hands on her lap held politely, ready to answer to what the Prince might ask of her.
Her suddenness made the Prince Renjun stand up as well, thinking he may have offended her only to see her stance and smile "No, No" he says shaking his head and his hands "please" he motions for her to sit "I would just like to ask for a question"
She sits down and nodded "yes of course, how can I help?"
He smiles "How did you and Hyuck meet?" He asks with a slight tilt of his head
Y/n looks at Prince Hyuck and he looks back "at the palace" she answered factfully
"Aww really?" Chenle pouts "boring"
"How else would we meet? She is a maid of our kingdom" Hyuck replied and laughed moving to place half of his baked salmon on to her plate, in an outsiders point of view it looks like Prince Donghyuck affectionately giving half of his meal to his fiance, but in reality, Y/n knows that the prince doesn't eat salmon, being a maid into the family for years she isn't surprised anymore, she nods and takes a bite of the fish
Finally giving up, he returned to eating his meal while Jaemin pretended to be disgusted by the sight of affection in front of him
Tumblr media
Prince Donghyuck and Y/n were walking in Prince Jeno's Family Garden, her hand out touch the petals of the flowers. The royals will be staying the night, Prince Donghyuck's parents have issued for their son and his fiance to stay in one room
"Is that how your future bride will be treated, My Prince?" She started and stopped to bend over and sniff on the Pink Camellias
"Yes, if you become my bride, my parents, my friends, will treat you like this, you your family will never worry when it comes to financial ever again"
"I'm sorry, your highness. But the world, or at least mine, doesn't revolve around that"
"Be my bride Y/n," He says getting annoyed at the lack of cooperation "I promise you, you won't ever regret it"
"No"

Frozen Within the Night Wind: Jasper Hale x Fleur Swan, Chapter 10
Tumblr media
None of the characters in Twilight belong to me, all rights go to Stephenie Meyer.
"Having you close My head is damaged I get closer, everything trembles me
Now I have the certainty That I have not lost the desire Wake up with you in the morning But I'm looking for your gaze And your eyes, baby, don't tell me anything."
Nuestro Planeta by, Kali Uchis Featuring Reykon. Translated lyrics.
Jasper, Jacob, and I were all standing in a large field awaiting the arrival of Bella and Edward. The very field we were standing in would be the battleground between us and the newborn army.
"Hey, le... Fleur?" Jacob asked."
"Hmm?"
"Why haven't your diluted eyes at all? They still look like a rose." Jacob observed.
"I mean it hasn't been a full year yet."
"Yes, darling but... they should've at least diluted a little by now, amber should start to peak through." Jasper added.
"That's strange...I haven't had any human blood I swear."
"Yeah right..." I heard Jacob mumble.
"Oh shove it, Jacob, at least I'm not in the middle of a toxic, manipulative, love triangle."
"Can it leech. You know nothing about Bella."
"Keep telling yourself that."
Before Jacob could rebuttal, Edward and Bella finally showed up. Edward didn't look thrilled at all and Bella had a blank look on her face.
"I don't like this idea at all." Edward grumbled.
"And we need you for the fight but you aren't coming to that so...tough, get over it." I rebutted.
"Leave him alone Fleur...he's doing it for me. Bet Jasper hasn't done that for you." Bella said a dreamy look was in her eyes.
"Uh...he didn't have to, because I didn't cause chaos where ever I went and didn't piss off nomads you dumbass." I heard Jasper let out a short laugh.
"Wait, pretty boy isn't fighting, aww did you pull a muscle?" Jacob mocked.
"Can we get on with this... I wanna be anywhere but here." I interrupted.
"Whatever, just tell me the plan." Jacob said.
"Edward and I are going on a campsite, even if he carries me they’ll still pick up our scents." Bella explained.
"Your stench, however, is revolting." Edward interrupted
"Dude, you really don’t wanna start comparing stinks." Jacob snapped
"What he means is that your scent will mask mine if you carry me," Bella said.
"Done."
"This is not a good idea."
"You've already established that Edward," I said.
"Edward, they won’t wanna get anywhere near his... odor." Jasper carefully.
Jacob picked Bella up before saying... "Odor-de-wolf comin’ up."
Edward glared at me when Jacob was gone. Jasper noticed this and tensed up.
"You need to stop talking to her like that!"
"Like what? Truthfully, honestly?"
"It's not truthful it's insulting!"
"Dude...have you been living without any of your senses? The amount of shit she has said and done to me is a lot more disgraceful than how I am acting. Like I am petty, I know I am, but her pretending to be all innocent is hilarious."
"Oh please..."
"Okay so when she insults me and brings up that my mother completely hates my guts it's fine but when I rebuttal it's like I'm opening the gates of hell huh?"
"You don't know anything about her... she isn't malicious!"
"You sound just like Jacob."
"Don't even compare me to that...fleabag."
"What are you gonna do about?" I said he then got up close to my face, he looked like he was going to hit me.
"Don't test me Fleur... I will put you in your place if I have to."
"I'd love to see you try...boy." Jasper said getting between the two of us.
Edward snarled at us and walked away, stalking off to the far side of the field.
"Man... being a vampire has definitely amped up my attitude. Good thing you're here to stop me from doing something stupid." I joked.
"I think you're spending too much time with Rosalie darlin." Jasper said, smiling at me.
"This whole love triangle thing makes me want to set myself on fire. I kinda feel bad for Jacob...I know she's just manipulating him."
"I wouldn't put it past her darlin."
"I really wish we didn't have to do any of this...we should be getting married right now... not fighting a battle they could possibly be getting us killed." I confessed.
"Well one, we just have to wait until November... and two we will be fine, we've been training all this time."
"I know but...it's still a terrifying thought, this is the first fight I've ever been with another vampire."
"Did you forget about James love?"
"Well... with me as a vampire."
"You're going to be fine... Alice told me the vision she had of you fighting James, you cracked his skin by throwing a rock.... if you're that strong as a human I'm scared to see what you can do as a vampire."
"Okay, okay... stop trying to boost my ego." I said smirking, I pulled him in using some of my strength. I kissed him before pulling apart, biting his lip to tease him."
"You're cruel darlin, just cruel... Oh forgot to say something..."
"What is it?"
"Bella and Edward got engaged."
"Oh my god... are you serious?"
"Yeah, and Alice said they planned on eloping in Vegas."
"She must be really angry with those two..."
"Actually, she isn't really that mad."
"Okay, what happened to Alice?"
"I think she's starting to get a little... annoyed with Bella."
"It was bound to happen... Dad is going to kill Edward."
Edward ran toward us again and told us to be quiet. Before I could ask why Bella and Jacob came back into view.
"Well Jasper and I will do a quick sniff check... you three can stay here and.... mingle." Before they could protest we took off into the woods.
"The stench is revolting."
"It is pretty bad."
"I can't make up any Bella though, so the plan worked."
We quickly ran back down to the field, both of us had stepped down off of a broken tree laying on the ground.
"Just picked up wolf stench, no Bella." Jasper stated
Timeskip: 2 hours later
I was waiting for Alice in the Cullen's house, knowing that Alice told dad we were all going on a camping trip. I thought it would be good if we all hunted before the battle to power up. I needed all the strength I could get.
"I swear if Bella and Edward do anything in our room I am going to kick Edward to the moon." I grumbled.
"Don't worry Fleur...I'm sure Edward won't do anything." Jasper reassured, a guilty look was on his face, however.
"You threatened him didn't you?" Not buying his innocent act.
"Yes, yes I did."
"Alright everyone, we can go!" I heard Alice say outside, Dean, Jasper, Rosalie, Emmett, Esme, Carlisle, and I all made our way outside quickly.
Timeskip: 6 hours later
"Damn Emmett, at this point you're going to put bears into extinction."
"Serves them right short stack."
"Dude I am 5'9, that's pretty tall for a girl."
"But pretty short for someone who's 6'5."
"Oh shut it and hit your head in the doorway again."
"Darlin, if he keeps doing that the support beams are going to give out in the house." Jasper added.
"Nah they'll be fine, he's as tall as a support beam." I joked.
"Can't wait to kick some newborn-vampire ass," Dean said, jumping up slightly in excitement. Alice giggled and wrapped her arms around him
"Are the newborns still making their way to the field Alice?" Carlisle asked.
"Yes, they should be here at 5:15 pm tomorrow."
"We'll be ready," Carlisle said.
"You guys go ahead in, I need some quiet. I'm going to try and track Victoria."
They all nodded and went inside, I saw them all however observing me through the glass walls."
I got into my trance, rolling my eyes behind my head and I was flying through the city once again. I stopped in an underground tunnel, the likes of which was located in Seattle. I finally found her, she was talking with that man that turned me... the name I finally found out to be Riley Biers.
"You’re not coming with us?" He asked angrily.
"It’ll be a last-minute decision. I told you how it works." Victoria replied she seemed bored.
"The Cullen’s have powers according to one of your friends," Riley said skeptically.
"Yes, my friend told me... my DEAD friend. Don’t underestimate them, Riley. One of them made me have hallucinations of my friend. You’ll have the numbers, but they’ll be able to anticipate your every move. You don’t trust me do you?"
"I trust you with my life. I’m just saying…"
"I’m doing this for us so that we can feed without their…retaliation and I can’t live in fear anymore waiting for them to attack."
"I won’t let them. I’m going to end the Cullen clan. I swear."
I broke out of my trance before I could get anything else out of the conversation. I rushed inside, eager to tell them what I found.
"It was Victoria guys!" I said.
"What? I would've seen it." Alice replied.
"She was hiding behind that kid, Riley... She's letting him lead the army to us..."

Loving your series of one shots bud!! I, myself, am a massive fan of fluff and happiness (tooth rotting), how about a prompt where Beca is in LA with Khaled (post PP3) and she is finding it really tough, physically and mentally, especially knowing Chloe isn't there, she hasn't spoken to her in a while, and she believes her to be happy with Chicago elsewhere... and when she returns home... She finds Chloe there. Waiting. (Or the equivalent, where Chloe is engaged, Beca hasn't spoken to her in a while, and she comes home to see her there) xxxxx
Hi, thank you so much!
I might have gotten away from the prompt a little, but I hope you like it anyway.
I’m kind of tired and emotionally tonight so I don’t know if this is any good, and it’s kinda long so I hope that’s okay haha
Read on AO3
------
“Beca, are you listening?”
Chloe Beale is single.
“Mhm,” Beca said, pulling her eyes away from Facebook on her phone and looking back at Theo. “Sorry.”
“Everything alright?” He asked, knowing it wasn’t like Beca to zone out in a meeting like this.
“Yep,” Beca said, turning her phone face down. He raised his eyebrows. “It’s Chloe.”
He closed his eyes with a sigh. “Is it an emergency?”
“No,” Beca said, putting her hands in her lap to resit the urge to pick her phone up again. “I am super focused and professional.”
“Can we talk about your album for, like, ten more minutes?” Theo said, trying to keep up his face stern.
“Absolutely,” Beca said, her eyes dropping again, briefly, to her phone.
The meeting felt like it lasted a lifetime, but eventually Beca hurried out and back to her own office, puling Facebook up on her phone.
Chloe Beale is single.
Chloe’s profile picture had changed from the sickeningly sweet picture of her and Chicago showing off her engagement ring, to just a simple selfie.
Beca clicked into her contacts list and her thumb hovered above Chloe’s name.
She should call her, right?
She scrolled down further, and hit call on Aubrey’s name.
“Aubrey Posen,” Aubrey said, using the same tone of voice she would use to greet a stranger, and not one of her closest friends.
“Aubrey what’s going on with Chloe?”
“I’m doing great Beca, thanks for asking,” Aubrey replied.
“Aubrey.”
“I don’t know,” Aubrey said, her tone softer. “She’s been unhappy with him for a while.”
“She has?”
“Yes,” Aubrey said. “When did you last speak to her?”
“It’s… It’s been a while,” Beca said, sounding guilty. “Work has been a bit much.”
“I know,” Aubrey replied. “You should call her.”
“Yeah,” Beca said. “Thanks.”
“Speak to you later, yeah?”
“Yeah,” Beca said. “I’ll call you.”
She ended the call with Aubrey but once again hesitated before calling Chloe. Apart from the occasional surface level text or exchange of snapchats and memes, she really hadn’t spoke to Chloe for a while. Not properly. Not the way they used to.
She was scared that if she called her now, Chloe would be mad at her.
She drummed her fingers against her desk, her stomach twisting slightly, as she tried to decide what to do. She never handled confrontation very well, it’s why she’d spent so much of her life just walking away from situations.
Beca picked up her phone again, and typed out a text.
Beca: Hey Chlo’. I’ve just seen Facebook, are you okay? xx
She hit send and closed her phone before she could overthink it, and tried to focus on her work again.
She had a bunch of album art she needed to look through and pick her favourites. (Yes, her job was pretty awesome.)
She also had twenty unread emails that had popped up in the ten minutes she had spent on the phone to Aubrey/deciding what to do about Chloe. (Yes, her job was also pretty demanding.)
As her phone buzzed on her desk with Chloe’s reply, Theo poked his head through her office door.
“What’s up?” She asked, resisting the urge to pick up her cell to read the message.
“Have you got plans tonight? Because you need to cancel them if you do,” he said, looking stressed.
“Why?” Beca asked with a sigh.
“The head of the label is coming in for a meeting tomorrow morning and he wants to hear your new album and it is nowhere near ready for that,” he said.
“Isn’t he in Europe?” Beca said with a groan.
“He is literally flying in for this meeting. There is a lot riding on this album, Beca,” he said. “He took a big risk when he signed you as a solo artist after the Khaled collab.”
“I know that,” Beca said, running a hand through her hair. “I know. But it isn’t getting released for another two months, why does he need to hear it now?”
“I don’t know how his mind works, I just know we need to impress him tomorrow,” Theo said.
“Okay,” Beca said.
“No distractions tonight, okay? Take an hour now and we can get started at,” he glanced down at his watch, “5:30.” He closed the office door behind him, and Beca immediately picked up her phone, pushing away the sudden wave of nerves.
Chloe: I’ve been better xx
Beca: Are you free right now? xx
Chloe: Yeah, I just finished work. xx
Beca called Chloe, this time without hesitation, and the redhead answered on the second ring.
“Hey,” Chloe said, her voice sounding heavy.
“Hi,” Beca replied, sinking back into her chair at the sound of Chloe’s voice. She hadn’t realised how much she’d missed hearing it. “What happened?”
“Can we not talk about it?” Chloe asked. Beca could hear the sound of New York traffic over the phone and she felt suddenly homesick.
Not for New York specifically, but for that tiny apartment she and Chloe had shared in Brooklyn. For that level of closeness and intimacy.
She liked L.A. fine, and her new home was, on paper, a thousand percent better than the Brooklyn apartment, but it still didn’t feel like home. She would trade her state-of-the-art kitchen, king-sized bed, hot-tub - all of it - for one more night in that apartment. One more night sleeping beside Chloe. One more night where Chloe’s arms would snake around her waist and pull her close, mumbling that she was cold. One more morning eating breakfast together before they parted for work. One more evening making dinner and watching trashy TV.
What made it hurt more was that she knew there was no going back to that apartment. Chloe had moved in with Chicago, Beca had moved out to L.A., and Fat Amy was somewhere in the Bahamas. Someone else was living in their apartment now. Sleeping in their cramped bed, making food in their kitchen.
“How’s work?” Chloe asked, breaking Beca out of her thoughts.
“Busy,” Beca said. “It’s… It’s a lot right now.”
“Are you taking care of yourself?” Chloe asked. And Beca thought just how like Chloe that was. While she was going through a heartbreak, she’d rather make sure Beca was okay.
“I thought that was your job,” Beca said, smiling at the soft laugh Chloe gave. She could hear the sounds of keys jingling and a door opening.
“That’s kinda hard to do when I’m all the way in New York,” Chloe said. “God it’s so cold outside. I need a vacation.”
Beca glanced at the sun streaming through her office window. “Maybe you should come to L.A.,” she said, without really thinking. As soon as the sentence left her mouth, she realised this was something she wanted more than anything right now.
“That would be nice,” Chloe said with a laugh.
“I’m serious,” Beca said, feeling a mixture of nerves and excitement.
“Come on, Becs. I can’t do that,” Chloe said. “I have work.”
“Take some time off?”
“The flights are expensive-”
“-I’ll pay for the flights,” Beca said, cutting her off. “I think… Chlo’ I think I need this. I need some time off. And I think you need it too?”
“Yeah, I need it,” Chloe said. “Are they even gonna let you have time off?”
“I can ask,” Beca said. She looked down at her watch and saw she only had ten minutes before she had to get back to work. “Look, if you want to come, I can make it happen. I’m working for the rest of the night, but give me a call tomorrow afternoon.”
“Okay,” Chloe said. “I’ll call my boss.”
“So you want to come?”
“Yeah. Yeah I want to.”
——
Beca glanced around her nervously as she stood at the arrivals gate of L.A.X. airport a week later. She was wearing a baseball cap and a pair of sunglasses but she was still afraid someone would recognise her.
Then she caught sight of ginger hair and suddenly Chloe was walking towards her and Beca felt her nervousness drain away.
Chloe grinned when she spotted her, and started walking more quickly, practically running by the time she got close enough to hug her. She dropped her case and flung her arms around Beca, squeezing her into the tightest hug she could manage.
Beca was going to make some sarcastic joke, but the feeling of Chloe’s arms around her caused her voice to die in her throat and her eyes to fill with tears.
“I’ve really missed you,” Chloe said, squeezing tighter and planting a kiss on her cheek and releasing her.
“Missed you too,” Beca said, grabbing the handle of Chloe’s case. “How was your flight?”
“It was fine,” Chloe said, grinning. “Why are you dressed like a spy?”
“Um, because I am?” Beca said, laughing. “I just don’t wanna get spotted.”
“Right,” Chloe said. “You’re a big deal now.”
Beca laughed and shook her head. “It’s a lot,” her voice was a little quieter.
Chloe frowned slightly, and then her eyes widened as she saw a few men with cameras hovering outside the entrance to the airport.
Beca sighed. “Just ignore them and stick close to me.”
They walked out of the airport quickly, and as soon as the men spotted her, they started yelling.
“Beca! Beca! How’s the album going, Beca?!”
“Beca! What do you say about the rumours that you’re dating your producer?!”
“Holy shit,” Chloe muttered under her breath as they made their way to Beca’s car, the paparazzi following them, continuing their barrage of questions.
“Beca! Introduce us to your friend!”
“Beca is it true you’re dating-”
Whatever name he was planning to say was lost in the sound of Beca slamming her door shut, and starting her car. She honked the horn a few times to get them to move out the way.
“Beca, what the fuck was that?” Chloe asked, pulling on her seatbelt as Beca pulled out of the parking lot.
“Fun, right?” Beca asked, glancing in her rearview mirror, making sure they weren’t going to follow her home.
“Does that happen every time you go out?”
“Not always,” Beca said. “To be honest they were probably there just hanging about to see if anyone would turn up. I don’t think they knew I was there before they saw me.”
“Jesus,” Chloe said. “I forget you’re like a legit celebrity now.”
Beca pulled a face. “I’m not. Not really.”
“Are you alright?”
“Yeah,” Beca said, glancing over at Chloe. “Yeah, just… Just really looking forward to this time off. I had to work a lot of late nights to get Theo to agree with this.” Chloe frowned. “You know that guy was full of shit, right? There’s nothing going on between me and Theo. I haven’t been dating him. I haven’t been dating anyone.”
“Why not?” Chloe asked.
“Why not, what?”
“Why haven’t you been dating anyone?”
Beca shrugged. “I haven’t met anyone I liked.” They were quiet for a little while longer as they continued to sit in L.A. traffic. “So, can we only talk about my love life or are you going to tell me about you and Chicago?”
“There’s nothing really to tell,” Chloe said, turning to look out of the window now they had gotten off the highway. “I just… It wasn’t working. We were fighting a bunch. I wanted him to be different and he wanted me to be different.”
“I’m sorry, Chlo’,” Beca said.
“It’s okay,” Chloe said. “It’s better in the long run. At least we weren’t married with kids before we figured it out.”
They sat in a comfortable silence as Beca drove them the rest of the way to her house, the radio playing quietly.
When Beca pulled up to to her house, Chloe let out a low whistle.
“Right, you live in a fucking mansion now,” she said.
“It’s hardly a mansion,” Beca said, feeling embarrassed. She took Chloe’s bag from the trunk and they made their way into the house. “You want the tour?”
“Please.”
Beca showed her around, dropping her bag into the guest room. The tour ended on the deck, and Beca grabbed a bottle of wine and two glasses from the kitchen on the way. They sat in comfortable loungers and looked out as the sun set over L.A..
“I’m really glad you’re here,” Beca said, pouring them some wine.
“Me too,” Chloe replied, cheers-ing her glass against Beca’s. “Thank you for inviting me.”
“Anytime, Chlo’.”
As they sat in silence watching the sunset, Beca felt a warmth spreading through her chest. For the first time since moving to L.A., she felt like she was home. And then she realised something.
Something she’d known all along, really.
She glanced across at Chloe, who was smiling with her eyes closed, letting the sun soak into her.
Chloe.
Chloe was her home.
She placed her hand on top of Chloe’s and squeezed, softly.
Chloe opened her eyes and looked over at Beca, still smiling. She adjusted her hand so her fingers were threaded with Beca’s.
Beca looked away, blinking against the sun and feeling tears stinging her eyes.
If Chloe noticed, she didn’t mention it. She just carried on smiling, and turned back to face the sunset, their hands still linked.
“It’s beautiful out here,” she said.
“Yeah,” Beca said. “I feel like I never actually get to relax out here. I spend so much time just sleeping at my office these days.”
“I knew you weren’t taking care of yourself,” Chloe said.
“There’s just been a lot of pressure at work. This is my first solo album, and if it fails… If it doesn’t do well everyone will know that my last one was only a success because of Khaled,” Beca said. “I can’t fail at this.”
“You won’t fail,” Chloe said, softly. “You’re so talented, Beca. You’ve got this, I know you do.”
Beca smiled. “I wish I didn’t have to do it without you.”
“You don’t,” Chloe said. “I’m only on the other end of the phone. You can call me anytime.”
“It’s not the same,” Beca said. “Sorry, I just miss how things used to be.”
“I know. I miss it too,” Chloe said.
“If I’d known things wouldn’t stay that way forever, I might have done things differently,” Beca said.
“What do you mean?”
Beca shrugged, feeling like she should stop talking before she said something she’d regret. She didn’t want to cause an awkward situation that they both had to live with for the two weeks of their vacation.
“Don’t go quiet on me now,” Chloe said.
“I just wish I’d been more honest. Braver,” Beca said, avoiding looking at Chloe.
“It’s not too late,” Chloe said.
But Beca shook her head. “Sorry. I’m… I’m rambling. I’ve probably drank too much.”
“I guess it’s getting late,” Chloe said, letting Beca’s hand drop. “We’ve got a long day of relaxing ahead of us, right?”
“Yeah,” Beca said. She stood and stretched and helped Chloe to her feet. “If you get hungry or anything during the night just help yourself.”
“Thanks,” Chloe said, kissing Beca on the cheek. “We’ll finish this conversation tomorrow, okay?”
Beca laughed, and felt her cheeks burn. “I dunno what you’re talking about.”
“Night Becs,” Chloe said.
“Night.”
Chloe woke a few hours later, her head hurting from too much wine and sun and not enough water.
She made her way to the kitchen and drank what felt like her body weight in water. As she was about to head back, she heard noises coming from Beca’s office.
The door was open and a dim light was creeping onto the landing.
Chloe peaked inside to see Beca sitting cross-legged on her chair, her hair tied up messily, the light from the computer screen the only light in the room.
She was talking to someone on the phone, her voice a little hoarse.
“No, I get that Theo,” she said, her hand resting on the back of her neck. “But when I spoke to you yesterday, the track was fine.” She watched as Beca tucked the phone in between her ear and shoulder and the began typing into her computer. “Uh huh. So like, more bass? Less bass?” She stopped typing. “I don’t know what you mean by the same bass but different.”
Chloe had heard enough and stepped into the room.
She placed a hand on Beca’s shoulder and tried not to laugh when she jumped. She held out her other hand for Beca’s phone.
Beca sighed and handed it over.
“Hi Theo,” Chloe said, smiling. “It’s Chloe. You remember me from the USSO tour, right? It’s 2 am, and Beca’s on vacation. I know. I’ll pass your apologies on. Goodnight Theo.”
She clicked end on the call and passed the phone back.
“Theo said sorry.”
Beca laughed and put the phone down. “Thank you.”
“Does this happen often?”
“Oh yeah,” Beca said. “Theo and I are both kinda nocturnal so sometimes he’ll call me with ideas.”
“No wonder you look so tired,” Chloe said.
“Gee thanks.”
“Come on, it’s bed time.” Chloe took her hand and pulled her up. “This room is off limits while you’re on vacation, okay?”
“Yes ma’am,” Beca said, smiling. “How are you finding the guest room?”
“It’s nice,” Chloe said, as they hovered outside Beca’s room. “Why?”
“No reason,” Beca said.
“Becs, you can just say it you know?”
Beca laughed, and looked down. “I can’t. I’m not good at this.”
“Okay,” Chloe said. She pushed Beca’s bedroom door open and gave her hand a tug. “Come on.”
“Chloe,” Beca said softly, closing her eyes when Chloe cupped her cheek with her hand. “Wait.”
“Hey,” Chloe replied, her voice just as gentle. “Look at me. Tell me what you need.”
Beca swallowed hard, tears burning her eyes. “I’ve… I’ve been waiting. That’s what I wanted to say before. Why I haven’t dated anyone since Jesse. I’ve been waiting for you. I… I waited to tell you and I waited too long.”
“It isn’t too late,” Chloe said, pulling Beca into a hug. “You can tell me now, it isn’t too late.” She felt Beca take a deep breath, and when she spoke her voice was muffled by Chloe’s shirt.
“I’m in love with you. I’ve always been in love with you. And I know you and Chicago just broke up. I don’t need to hear it back.”
Chloe ended their hug and cupped Beca’s face in her hands again, her thumbs brushing away the tears.
“I wanted Chicago to be different than he was. That’s why we didn’t work out. I wanted him to know what I needed without me having to ask. I wanted him to know when I needed a tea instead of a coffee. I wanted him to bring me an aspirin when I was two hours into a study session because he knew I’d have a headache by then. I wanted him to know when I wanted to talk, and when I just needed to sit and listen to music. I wanted him to know me. I wanted him to know me the way you know me. I wanted him to be you, Becs. And… And when I realised that… When I realised it was you that I wanted… You that I was in love with… That’s when we broke up.”
“You love me?”
“Yeah,” Chloe said, swallowing the lump in her throat. “Yeah I love you.”
Beca let out a teary laugh.
“Can I kiss you?”
Beca nodded, and Chloe’s mouth was on hers, and Beca knew she was home.
