alpha dirk has not gone on t. he has not had any surgery nor does he wear a binder. like his stance on sexuality labels, gender labels feel... not Outdated to him but moreso not as needed cause when he was growing up humanity was at a count of 2. he was closeted right up until his friends actually saw him through sburb and then in the medium. the only other person who knew about his thoughts + feelings about gender was roxy until that point (who was also going through his own background gender crisis. rox went through comp-cis for sure). but dirk very intentionally never mentioned anything gender related in regards to himself other than introducing himself as A Boy. jakes comment about if dirk were a girl hed date him gave him a huge wobble. he nearly considered comp-cis-ing himself bc it felt like Dating Jake was right there. but he didnt dirk is super used to and comfortable with not wearing a shirt cause again he spent the first 16yrs of his life absolutely physically alone, so he also doesnt really have a problem going topless in front of his friends. his body isnt gendered nor will it ever be gendered. hes a boy whos also not a boy but definitely not a girl. he is a secret worse third thing. jake got really silly the first time dirk just threw his top off in front of him though hahaha. if dirk ever did choose a label that best describes him itd probably be boyflux/enbyflux

if you asked hal whether he considers himself trans he would say "Technically, by someone else's definitions, possibly." but he mostly doesnt care to think about it. hes always been a guy. the act of porting himself from fiberoptics and binary to shades to a fully functional android chassis does count as a physical transition to him but not so much in the traditional organic-human way

ELSIE he is 27 year old guy with TGUY bisexual swag[no tattoo hes a lil scared of those. What if it hurts] and outside of madcom he lost his left arm to [thankfully not late-stage] bone cancer in his upper arm so he had to get it amputated! hes very very shy and polite but hes extraordinarily bad at talking to people. think fluttershy's introduction from mlp. thats kind oflike him but he does try his best. He gets very nervous and well um hes a little kitty cat and he purrs and tiptoes anddd well he likes scratches behind his ear. hes insecure about just abt every part of himself especially physically, he has a little bit of sexual trauma aswell[along w having had a shitty as hell ex] so that combined with having a hard time standing up for himself makes for unsavory situations. grew up a little too fast. etc. He really likes fish and animals though :) in my mind he's a marine biologist! he looves talking abt fish and his studies and that paper he wrote once about a niche species of fish and all that! hes very emotionally intelligent aswell

I'm going to agree and disagree with you because David was an actual abuser who admitted to getting violent with Freddie first. Choosing to throw the first blow forever changes that relationship dynamic, the victim never sees the other person the same way or feels totally comfortable around them again, and I really, really dislike the idea that Freddie fighting back against an abuser was "mutually toxic" or whatever people say. We have a note from Freddie to David like, "I'm sorry for being a meanie, please don't punch me in your sleep! I love you!' So yeah, I'm not very sympathetic to David Minns or the idea that it was an equal dynamic. Minns was abusive, and I think the only reasons why people don't see him on par with Bill is a) Freddie decided to make up with David but not Bill and b) Minns seemed to keep things within the home, whereas Bill trashed a hotel room and made some of his behavior public and c) people in society are very open to believing an abuser's depiction of their partner and their version of events. (And Freddie trying to date David and Joe at the same time without their permission was fucked up, I'm just saying that David had already inflicted abusive behavior by that point.)

But more broadly, yes, Freddie did cheat on basically everyone he was with and only stopped when Jim put his foot down and gave him an ultimatum. Jim said he believed that Freddie cheated on him out of insecurity, but that didn't make it right, because Jim hadn't done anything wrong to him. People can talk about Freddie's past experiences and traumas leading to him having a hard time being in a normal relationship, but that doesn't mean he was right to hurt someone like Jim, either. Freddie was fucked up in a lot of ways! But not in a way that made him irredeemable, and he had a lot of good qualities, and came to change some of his bad ones.

I get people not wanting to dwell on the uglier aspects of their faves, but it's annoying when discourse is driven by a sugar-coated view of them, too.

so i understand that on a certain level this is supposed to be a 'parent&child coded' relationship but frankly ive said it before and ill say it again their idea of emotional boundaries is absolutely fucking insane and it kind of blows my mind a little that ppl think they act like an even semi functional 'parent&child' vs either a mostly functional if codependent nontrad found family relationship or a VERY dysfunctional parenting relationship. like for one thing shes at a level of intimacy and emotional openness w him that would be more appropriate for a therapist because shes an empath and a mindreader (also extremely strongly implied to have a psychic bond specifically with him but more on that in a second) and therefore has access to all his emotions including his experience of his unhealed trauma. speaking of which she literally therapized him out of trigons control by reenacting his trauma w him after previously having witnessed it via his memories. so like i think its fair to say that IF this were a nuclear family relationship she would be totally emotionally parentified (bordering on something more like emotional incest at a couple points but i think hes more aware of her emotional needs and more capable of treating her like a kid than that term would imply, he just doesnt seem to quite know when exactly it's appropriate). he also offers her a lot of support, but especially early on shes also doing a lot of either supporting him/verbalizing and explaining his own feelings back to him or bearing the brunt of his trauma trigger response to seeing her in the same circumstance he was in as a kid (still cannot BELIEVE the church scene happened, i love it so much, his ass literally kept lying to her and saying he wasn't going to leave and then when she kept dogging him for lying finally snapped and was like "you know what you're right, everyone does leave and nobody can help you and it will never get better and it sucks but thats life" literally toxic excellence i wish theyd stayed at that level of dysfunction for WAY longer). but bc they have their little soul bond thing going on (evidence piles up to the height of mt everest, its literally all over their relationship in subtext and is indirectly referenced constantly even if its never really explained outright) she ALSO gets this weird little privileged status where she's just way closer with him than any of the other kids her age, is his obvious favorite and is trusted the most, and only sometimes gets classed as "one of the kids" rather than "one of the adults" (worth noting also that rachel seems to notice this and repeatedly and aggressively rejects the child role from s1 all the way to s4 despite accepting dick as family by mid s1 and only seems to want 'parental' comfort&support when she feels totally out of control). while we're here shall i note that one of the antagonistic forces of s1 is literally called the nuclear family and is an obvious comment on the found family ethos of the series. okay rant over

i see where ur coming from for sure! if this story was happening irl in our time period, i would tell oc to leave him too lol. but i also believe that good people make shit decisions. and that people do physically and mentally change due to trauma.

please remember that the beginning of the series is NOT the beginning of their relationship!! he has always tried to treat her with kindness, esp when he was a teen. what i tried to show throughout the series was that he has always been that loving and gentle boy. but he was so confused and unable to allow himself to have those feelings after being thrust into kingship!

and yes, she lost her mom too, but he also lost the person directing him as king of the entire damn country. hes terrified. every wrong move he makes could send thousands of ppl to their deaths. even his executions were trying to save the rest of his people. worst of all hes not even allowed to be sad bc he has to perform strength for the court.

he never ACTUALLY saw her as someone to have sex with. he TRIED to do that, bc that's what he thought a king should do (get rid of all his weaknesses). as he says, "Even though at one point, at my worst, I thought that was the only way I could have you. If I told myself to think of you as…" he repeatedly tells himself to imagine her that way but it never works (how many times have we told ourselves to stop crushing on someone and its absolutely futile? i did it so much 😭) he renovates the whole pavilion for her. he gives her an ENTIRE HALL to practice her medicine (a hall is fucking enormous lol. like giving someone an entire house instead of a room). he never uses her as just a body bc he cant hide his feelings. if i wrote nov 1868 from his pov, itd be more evident how he breaks down, needing her touch, needing her compassion as he rmbs all those happy times they had together as kids. there are hints of it there, like when she notes that he seems to be lingering w his touches. every time he had sex with her, he was just as in love with her as she him. hes physically unable to see her as "just a body to use."

also,,, he actually only calls her "whore" ONCE, in april 1869. i didnt explicitly mention it in the story bc there was never a place for it but i imagine he saw her puffy eyes that night and saw how the word seemed to bother her and so he never says it again. every other iteration of it comes from oc degrading herself. i also imagine he went back to his chambers that night feeling so shitty and sad, beating himself up for wanting her and hurting her by doing so but also being unable to truly leave her behind.

unfortunately mlt is mostly from oc's pov so its hard to show his side :( but i tried to show disonnance between his words and his actions. he doesnt treat her like any mere woman. he never has 😭

also maybe i didnt explain this enough but his trauma with the assasination attempt is his reasoning for why he tried to keep oc out of it/as only a body to use. he didnt want her to end up like his mom or that other concubine if feelings got involved. he didnt want her to love him. but thats where he was wrong--feelings were always involved between these two.

im probably going to regret making a silly little post about this and in no way do i actually want to start a conversation but i keep seeing ppl condemning or trying to “fix” buckys amends storyline in fatws and it keeps upsetting me so i had to parse my way through why that is. 

i get it. i truly get where ppl are coming from. yes, what happened to bucky wasnt his fault. he is the victim. he doesnt “need” to atone. 

i am just gently asking people to consider that for some individuals, internalizing their victimhood is not the right first step to healing. you can "it wasn’t your fault” until the cows come home and for some people that will not change how they think about themselves. some people need a constructive outlet that will prove to themselves and to others that they are still a human being capable of good. i know ppl irl who are buckys. like not that level of trauma obviously, but it literally will not matter how much you tell them that x huge traumatic event wasnt their fault. they need to feel like theyre acting upon some external problem to feel like a full human being. encouraging them to help others in real practical ways tricks them into remembering that they have agency, that they are still good, that they are still a full human being with a soul. this, in turn, helps clarify the reality that what happened to them was inhumane. sam telling bucky to be of service to others wasnt blaming him for his trauma. it was helping him structure his need to “do something”. and fatws is a narrative within an established World, so of course that outlet will be tied to a characters existing experiences (the list of ppl affected by the WS) to cohere it all together, narratively.

at the end of the day this really isnt about bucket barnacles and caring this much about other peoples m*rvel takes is dumb. its more like. i just really hope that we can all understand that different people need different things to heal from the same experiences and that also theres a universality in the Very Human Act of doing something good for another person that will always benefit someones mind and soul. even if its difficult in the moment. and i say this as someone who is 100% a person who needs the “it wasnt your fault” talk. sometimes that simply is not a useful first step to help someone feel human again.

i think my ask got eaten again but in reference to the second ghostbur post, exactly! the ghostbur thing also makes me a lil uncomfy when ppl view him like that but what i said before it got eaten was that i had a Thought that if everything good in Wilbur was able to manifest in a completely separate entity, and all of that good came from Wilbur in the first place, that it makes sense that he would still be good at heart and things that have been misinterpreted or just blatantly ignored make him seem unredeemable. When people hold the energy that "oh they should just get rid of wilbur to bring our little ghostbur back" it makes it feel like they want the perfect version of wilbur, the version without the trauma which also has just a disgusting energy. it feels like theyre saying he doesnt have a right to be traumatized bc he traumatized others. it very much makes me think that they just like ghostbur bc hes not traumatized and happy go lucky. he literally said that he was the comic relief in all their stories and thats kinda what it feels like. anyway, its always cool to hear some other people's opinions on the lore and how they interpret it, and its always cool to talk to someone about it, so thanks for entertaining my bullshit lmao

that desire to help, to build something worth keeping, is still there and has always been in c!wilbur. OH GOSH WHAT TO SAY ABT THIS WHOLE 'do they love each other in a more than family way' PART OF THE EP.

i WILL acknowledge that its heavily implied that eren loves her as more than family so lets just assume that sure, he does love her like that.

in the left pic, eren literally looks desperate to hear that she thinks of him as more than just family. and then the right pic is him knowing that even if she reciprocated nothing should even happen. he doesnt have that much longer to live; he most likely feels that he shouldnt get anymore involved w her otherwise itd just be more painful to leave her

putting focus on the beginning and middle of the ep w mikasa's monologue: we could see that she was blushing when he asked her what he was to her so that obvi might imply that she loves him more than just family. but she didnt say that w the "you are family" part. BUT IF EREN DID HEAR THAT where she said that she loves him more than family, that still begs that question that mikasa ponders in the middle of the ep: would he change course if she had said smth else at the time aka she loves him more than family? would he change his plans to protect the woman he loves (IF he loves her like that and IF he properly knew that she reciprocated?)

considering hes been shown to be a very idealistic man and we always see him strongly stick to his ideals no matter what, would it have even made a difference if mikasa's answer was different?

i honestly think no, nothing would change if mikasa's answer was different. i think he was just looking for that confirmation. what he would do with that information, most likely not a lot bc he knows he has stuff to do. i dont think he would throw away his ideals for a woman he loves, he just doesnt seem to be that kind of guy. YES he cares abt her so so much (and his friends whom he considers family at this point) but he just wants her and everyone else to live on happily and peacefully whether or not hes there with them as he says he wants them to.

So to go off of the very first line of ep 12 "Everyone says that Eren has changed.": In my opinion, eren hasnt changed one bit since he was a kid. this boy has made it abundantly clear that his mindset is always 'the enemy should be and needs to be removed' whatever 'removed' entails. theres him beating up the neighborhood bullies bc they were the enemy to the weaker kids they could pick on aka armin. theres him killing the bandits bc they were the enemy to the ppl that he and his dad were visiting. theres him wanting to kill titans bc he saw them as the true enemy of the walls (before he found out the full truth). and now theres him wanting to wipe out the whole world's population (except for paradis island) since theyre the enemy that views the island as the enemy.

ALSO CAN WE JUST TALK ABT THE ABSOLUTE TRAUMA THIS MAN HAS GONE THROUGH. first of all, dealing w finding out the future when he touched historia's hand. he found out about everything thats happening now and then also past this. AND HE COULDNT TALK TO ANYONE ABOUT IT EITHER. who would think that he wasnt crazy for saying that hes going to start the rumbling and kill of civilization outside of paradis island? SO HE HAD TO INTERNALIZE IT. THERES NO WAY HE'D BE MENTALLY OK AFTER FOUR YEARS OF THAT.

AND THEN THERE WAS THE SCENE AT THE END WHERE HE NEEDED TO FAKE BEING A WOUNDED SOLDIER SO HE COULD EVENTUALLY MAKE CONTACT WITH FALCO ETC ETC. THE ABOSLUTE A N G U I S H. i can see why his eyes look completely dead. he's gone through so much.

ANYWAYS. that concludes this season.

also YES im very happy that theyre making attack on titan the final season part 3 despite the terrible naming (they knew this would happen why the heck did they do this to themselves). i dont care what anyone says. this series is legendary. i cannot WAIT for the ending (despite manga readers saying theyre disappointed with it). i wanna see how this beautiful series (canonically) marks its end.

1. ill wait ill wait (to be the one) by georgiestauffenberg made me ship it cause holy fuck dude. I dont know if i ship them romantically when i saw them onscreen cause first of all, age difference is kinda weird lmao. Second, they dont rlly interact much outside literally the first couple of eps. But he was so soft for her, and i felt like they had so much unexplored history.

so i looked at fanfics cause i was wondering if ppl still ship it, then i liked the description of this one so i gave it a go.

Basically the premise is that vanya dates a much older man who seems to know a lot about her. And it was amazingly in character and just provided their characters some depth that u wouldnt find outside of a romantic relationship between them. (The implication of five pining while she doesnt know who he is, their missed chances when he time travelled, fives missed chances of living and having a 'normal' life bec of his own hubris, vanyas insecurity and being able to open up bec shes with someone whos known her since childhood). Its so sweet and thats how i was like, oh yep i can do so much more with these two, and what has kept me interested in drawing them etc.

2. My favourite things are the shippers cause i made some friends in the fandom who are super cool and supportive! I dont get super involved in fandoms and usually just watch from afar so finding people to talk to and muck around with in this tiny fandom is super cool 😭

Though thats not to say I havent come across some bad apples in this fandom and things that I dont like. I think thats the importance of carving out a place for yourself and ur friends in fandom tho.

Another thing I like about the ship itself, i just like the grumpy person whos soft for one person trope. Its so cute. I like all the little clues in canon on how their relationship as kids is quite warm, which is interesting cause five is basically the star student and he can be quite cold vs vanya who is the black sheep of the family.

I also like how five likes her powers even when she caused the apocalypse he spent the majority of his life in lol. Like its a popular hc that five is just a wife guy and i love that.

I see vanya as the type who has a lot of love to give, and she sometimes has unrealistic expectations of what her partner can give. Betrayal and lies really angers her, but also when her partner cannot meet her expectations of love she gets very upset bec its also an indication of how shes not good enough, or not loveable enough to be able to have this in the relationship (her insecurity means every failing always comes back to her, even if its out of her control).

I feel like five would be a level-headed person enough in the relationship to not be afraid to say 'vanya ur being stupid' (ie. the s2 confrontation lmao). Also, five's personality means she will never have to doubt his actions bec she knows hes the type who will not give u the moment of the day if hes not interested.

Not to mention they also have the whole apocalypse vs. saviour, hero/villain thing. Theres just a lot to explore!

3. I probably have several. But mostly I dont mind five being a dick to vanya bec first, even if the appeal is hes soft to her hes already kind of a dick in canon lmao. Also, vanya isnt a child. Shes grown and she can handle petty af things like five telling her shes not good at cooking lol. I also dont mind it cause I feel like people are getting too afraid to write... conflict for fear or portraying an abusive relationship or smth. Like, chill. Conflict is fine, resolving it is how u get a story. However in saying that, nobody should be obligated to write any way unless you want to! Fanfic is for comfort so if what your doing is making u happy then its good enough!

1. I came in tua in general not shipping anything so Im honestly not sure. I do remember someone doing a meta before s2 came out that was basically how ben acted weird when klaus summoned dave in s1 that made me go 👀 Otherwise, tua s2 rlly made me like them cause tua FED horrance shippers. Like..... the fact that klaus didnt want ben to leave him, and ben knows thats why he stayed 😢 or the fact that klaus was all over him for some reason???? Somebody also mentioned gay ben once and I resonate with that deeply. Like i get that jill exists but i resonate with gay ben deeply.

2. I love their bickering, theyre so cute together. I just like ben being angry bec hes self aware that hes got both shit and amazing taste. I think the idea of them being kind of underdogs, theyre not rlly leader types and dont want to be, helps them bond together even in platonic horrance. They're both down to earth, and even tho they can annoy each other, they also know if they want a space to feel comfortable its with each other. Theyre not pressured by rivalry over leadership, or any sort of competition.

I love the idea that even tho ben is like klaus's ''conscience'', hes also down for chaos and bitchy. I feel like klaus rlly enabled that side of him, its not exactly a good thing but its p funny lol

3. I know some people think their dynamic is unhealthy but i dont care lol

alluther. So id say i dont ship this, mostly due to the fact that im not invested? Just like all tua ships so far I rlly came out not wanting anything but platonic relationships cause I feel tua doesnt do romance very well. With alluther, theyre so cute but im not super invested in either of their chars so they havent stuck for me. I appreciate seeing them and talking about them tho, and I'm def open to exploring them further.

1. I think tua canon romances are just so lackluster 😔 Idk who writes the romances but I was just like 'nice' but afterwards I dont really think about them. I love their dance scene and the message behind it! Otherwise, theyre sweet like most of the tua romances but im not super invested, same with all the non canon ships.

2. I really feel like tua needs to decide on what their relationship is. Like, just say its incest or not and stick with it 👀 Or if you wanna support it or not, just make up ur mind. I think I would've liked it better if I found the characters more interesting. Allison especially I feel like suffers from the fact that tua just doesn't want to make her ''mean''. They want to make her supportive and are less interested in making her flawed (ie. she should've had a conflict with Vanya in s2, but the writers didnt want to write the girls fighting which is stupid imo and not what that conflict is about).

In regards to Alluther, the scene where Allison gets annoyed at Luther for sleeping with someone else felt out of line. Like, how are you marrying other people and moving on but Luther isn't allowed to? But honestly, I don't mind if they actually just acknowledge it and make it a deliberate part of Allison's trait that Allison can expect a certain loyalty automatically from other people (which can tie in to her childhood being a star, and the rumour).

Luther is a big simp for Allison, which is sweet, but at the same time it would be nice to have him explore himself for a bit, and who he is outside of the academy. Then maybe they can rekindle their relationship again as new people and see where they go from there.

3. I don't hate them, but they're ok. I'm not super invested in them, just like all the tua canon romance. But I wouldn't mind making content for them if I were a bit more invested in their characters. I love their dance scene in s1 and I feel like its super a underrated portrayal of what their relationship is meant to be. I know no one talks about it but it's just such a great scene, and I'm pretty sure the choreographer was into interpretive dance? The scene had a lot of meaning that I don't see people dig around with.

Essentially I'm pretty sure the fairy lights are obviously a throwback to their childhood together, spending time outside of Reggie. So the dance scene kind of symbolized that pocket of space they made for each other in their life (even if theyre far away, or with other people, they will always have that space for each other).

The way they danced was more like playfighting than dancing, which means their relationship isn't sensual. It's more ''pure'', and romantic. Its basically two kids rekindling their love as adults. I also think this is a response to the incest, cause in s1 tua klaus literally said that 'thank god Regg is not their real father' right before Allison and Luther meet lmao. So its kinda like saying Allison x Luther isnt supposed to be 'ohh step sibling hot' but two people who experienced the same trauma as kids and finding comfort with each other (and rekindling that love after many years).

the thing that's getting me about the whole "izuku sucks bc he doesn't care about villains" take is that, with the exception of dabi (who is actively trying to MURDER IZUKUS BEST FRIEND among others), izuku just,,,, doesn't know the villains' tragic backstories? like, he doesn't know the trauma that shiggy or toga or twice or spinner went thru. all he knows is that these ppl are responsible for the deaths of THOUSANDS of ppl and MANY heroes. 1/3

2/3. and its not like he's never been sympathetic to villains b4, yk? like, remember with gentle? where he saw that gentle was trying to save la brava and was peacefully turning himself in after losing? and izuku was like "yeah, we had a disagreement, but its fine" instead of "no he was trying to break in so I stopped him" or whatever. ig you could argue thats bc he didn't want the fest to be canceled, but I still hold that he understood what gentle was doing and played along.

3/3. idk it just really irks me that people forget that just bc WE know something, doesn't mean the CHARACTERS know. (and also, that just bc a character has an actually tragic, horrible, and traumatizing backstory doesn't excuse, you know, LITERAL MURDER???) I also just wish ppl would remember that the story isn't over and that we're in the middle of a scene where shit is still happening. like, just be fucking patient and wait for the story to unfold. THEN get mad if it doesnt work for you. jfc

sooooo, something that i really, reaaaally liked about bnha 286 was the moment in the vestige realm. when izuku morphs (transitions? teleports??? whatever) into this other dimension, the first thing he sees is all for one being his Creepy Controlling Self with shigaraki (as shown below)

and, when he sees that shiggy is resisting and fighting back, izuku's immediate response is to try and intervene to help shiggy

of course, as nana points out, the boy can't really do much with his body, but he was ready to give it his all anyway because he saw that shiggy needed help (and it didn't matter that they're on opposing sides. izuku moved with the intention of helping depsite the fact that he and shig were literally just fight each other a second before) and i just.... waaaaaah, this kid, you know?

so i wanted to point this out because, along with the example you given (and I'm sure there's more to be said about this but sudjsjjd), this makes me feel like izuku caring is a given. funneling that ability to sympathize into actually saving villains, though, does become a bit complicated when we consider the points you mentioned (like, having to keep a villain from killing those around them if that's what they're into didndjd; not having the prior knowledge needed to know why they're feeling what they are or what drives them to act as they do; as well as the balance needed to address the villain's needs and the consequences that are sure to follow whatever things they've done wrong).

here i am, getting scatterbrained again sjdndjd but yeah, i agree with you! like, on one hand, i think it absolutely makes sense to be upset that the league and other characters like them were/are neglected when they need(ed) help the most (though i think touya's situation will allow the narrative to begin highlighting how that issue exists and persists within hero society) but... i dunno. it's a balancing act, you know? these issues are very blurry and gray (as opposed to being just clear-cut, black and white, or easy to assess and judge as This or That), so i definitely feel your frustration BUT HOPEFULLY, canon elaborates on it all more so that we can have productive conversations about it in the fandom!!

cool so I've decided I'm gonna, but because I cannot write for SHIT and I hate my writing every time I see it, ill just share my outline of what I have so far. its not coherent. sorry. 

Section one: aunt may dies. It’ll be like “it's been 3 months. 3 months since May was shot. 2 months and 3 weeks since she died.”

Something like that idc. Basically this section will base around peter living tony, because he’s not doing well, and he is only 17- which is not actually old enough to be on your own after something like this. Setting is established, with cameos from dr strange (who tony is dating and lives with (yeah bite me, this is my fanfiction i can make it what i want.) it will be made obvious that this takes place after endgame, which also means that tony is Not going to die. I’m not that mean lmao. The avengers are like largely together, there was not as much death in this as there was in endgame. Whatever. Everyone is very nice to peter because they know that for him its either this or him becoming a ward of the state so like.

Section two: harley gets kicked out. His mom finds out that he’s gay (from gossip sources idk) and kicks harley out. Im not going to write them having a big fight like in the moment, but harley will recount what happened somewhat to tony in this section, and then more to peter later in the story. Gay ppl trauma dump, we know this. Okay anywaysss so harley calls tony literally sobbing and like freezing fucking cold. IM SORRY IM BEING SO MEAN TO THEM I PROMISE THEY'LL GET A HAPPY ENDING. Okay. harley explains how his mom kicked him out. Tony asks why, harley says something like “she didn’t agree with my lifestyle choices” like bitterly. Tony is a good person in this (i know, im really taking some character liberties) and he’s in the mood for collecting strays apparently, so he has happy send over the quinjet. He can’t make it himself bc hes in fucking japan or something for the next few weeks,, but. Yeah! Tony also calls peter, who is presumably in bed and feeling depressed. “Hey pete. How ya feeling? Any better?’ ‘Not really, tony. Sorry.’ ‘you don’t have to be sorry-’ ‘damn tony you sound like my therapist.’ “sorry pete, but i do have something to tell you- you know harley?’ ‘only from what you’ve told me about him, but yea. He was the tennessee garage kid, right?’ ‘i mean. Yes. so- he’s gonna come stay with me for a while too- it might not be permanent but it will probably be a bit. He’s about your age, and he just has no where to go (just like u). He’s not going to stay in your room or anything, but with bruce and thor here, he will be in your apartment area.’ ‘okay tony.. Will i have to talk to him a bunch?’ ‘not if you don’t want to- i already warned him about you, so it should be okay. I wouldn’t worry so much pete- you guys are so similar in a lot of ways that i wanted to introduce you two long before he called me.’ ‘okay tony, i trust you. Thank you again for letting me stay with you :)’ (yeah that kind of got away from me)

Section 3: build up. this is a shorter section. Harley and peter are gonna meet in section 4. This section is harley’s jet ride (with an intuitive happy) and harley’s nerves about how he really isn’t worth this (i mean hes pretty intimidated tony sent a private jet just for him) and happy like reassures him. Hes still insecure though. Peter is also nervous bc what if harley doesn’t like him? What if he doesn’t like harley?? Tony did say they would get along, but peter hasn’t really been himself recently, so who knows? Yeah lots of that. I do want to emphasize though- peter is not completely unhealthily coping. Like he has a therapist and he has been reaching out to ned and mj, but its still an open wound for him. Obviously. He still has a sense of humor though, but its to cover these deep insecurities. Like the first month or so that he was with tony, he was reallllyyyy trying to not get close to him bc he sort of thinks he kills everyone around him. Like logically he knows this isn’t true, but he does really think the that non superheroes that he surrounds himself with are very at risk if they know about his spider-man-ness. The only people who know now are ned and mj (may knew too).

Section 4: the meeting of harley and peter. Keep in mind peter has been living in this apartment/area of stark tower for about 3 months now. He actually moved in while may was in the hospital because he couldn’t stand to be alone in the apartment when he knew why may wasn’t there. And um. Yeah. so peter is like comfortable in this space, basically. Also- the reason theyre in the same apartment is because stark tower was not really created with the idea of housing broken orphans in mind, so it only has a certain amount of residential space. Thor and bruce are currently staying there together (although no one really knows if theyre together, or if theyre just best bros who went through some extreme trauma together and are now inseparable. Hmmm wonder if thats gonna come up later) and theyre using one apartment, and happy lives there with his own apartment, and tony and stephen are currently sharing the penthouse, even though thats not public knowledge. Really only the people close to tony know that he’s dating stephen. So. this leaves just the one other 2 bedroom apartment for peter and harley. It has one bathroom, and the bedrooms are connected by a door but theyre pretty big so like. Theres a kitchen, a living room with a fancy ass tv, and a really pretty view (with a balcony bc <333). May died in march, peter got leave from the school in april, and it is now the middle of june btw. Tony is now peter’s official guardian (he was before may died anyways) and now has sole guardianship over him which he has fully accepted, even though peter and him both know that there are going to be times where he has to go out of town bc he does own a company after all. Times like right now. Harley is pretty nervous that tony isn’t going to be there to greet him and that he is going to have to like introduce himself to peter and everything. Cmon, theres no reason to feel like that, he’s the one intruding after all, he should at least be able to handle himself. (<--- harley’s thoughts). Yeah so theyre insecure super cool. A n y w a y s so peter was stressing about harley as he arrived, and so when harley walked in they were both complete bundles of nerves. Harley walks up but knocks. Peter actually jumps (bc spidey sense okay whatever) and goes to get the door. Oh my god these awkward teenagers i hate them so much (i love them). Peter kinda looks like shit, sorry king. He was a little bit crying earlier, then tony called and he switched into stressed out ball-of-anxiety mode. Distractions are good, its okay. Peter opens the door for harley and they like introduce each other all awkward (again sorry) and peter shows harley where he is staying. Harley doesnt really have muchhhh bc he was kicked out and all. He just has a suitcase full of clothes, his favorite blanket, his favorite stuffed animal (yeah whatever bc ofc he does) and his phone/charger. He sets all his stuff down at once. He thanks peter for letting him stay in his apartment and also said sorry. First thing peter noticed was harley’s accent. Stfu. peter asks why harley’s here- ok. Harleys had a long ass day. Too fucking long. He- he breaks down. He tells peter a lot. About how his mom found out that he was gay, and how she told him never to come back. Yikes. Anyways, this is establishing the beginning of their relationship as friends. Peter is there for him even though he doesn’t know him at all. Peter sees some of himself in harley in this moment, even though he’s not talking about himself yet. Eventually harley does ask about peter, and they really just get to know each other really quick. They have these deep scarring individual traumas, and neither has nearly recovered, but they find comfort in just knowing that theyre not alone in their suffering. At least for now. At least in this moment.

Section 5: the next day. Peter and harley spent that whole night talking about what they were going through. Peter said good night at around 5 am (there were no adults around they can do what they want to) and they both got good sleeps. In peter’s case, one of the first solid nights he’s had in a while. Harley was kept up a little longer after peter left, however, because he just couldn’t shut off his mind. It was really cathartic for him to just lay everything out there and for someone to just accept him. Peter told him he was bi, but he was.. Lucky. He had accepting people in his life. May was accepting. God, harley couldn’t fathom having lost everyone in his life, everyone he ever cared about, and still having the heart to sit and talk with the dumbass anxious gay kid who can’t go home anymore. His problems felt so small compared to peter’s, and all he could do was admire peter’s resilience and how he was seemingly able to bounce back from anything. God, peter was something. He couldn’t wait to get to know him more. With that thought circling in his head, he finally went to sleep at oh shit 6:30 am. Peter woke up around 1. Harley at 2. When harley woke up, peter was watching tv and eating cereal on the couch and he just sat down next to him. No words, just sleepy children being sleepy. They stayed like this for like an hour when someone knocked on their door. Enter stephen strange!!!!!!!!!!! Get excited people. Hes just coming in to check on them bc tony told him to, and he didn’t get the chance last night bc he was _busy_. K so now he’s here and hes awkward and he just wants to make sure these boys r okay bc theyve both been through too much recently, and it would be just the cherry on top if they didn’t get along. Him and harley had never actually met before so he like introduced himself and all that. Offered like if they needed anything he was there, and its only gonna be a few days until tony gets back (did i say a week earlier? Im retconning that bc i cannot find it in my writing so it is now retconned). Peter and harley just have to sort of explain to dr strange that theyre getting along gREAT and there is no need for concern….. And peter was even thinking about showing harley around the city a bit that night (something he had not yet told harley, but wanted to make it seem like he was doing well and not acting too depressed in front of Dr. Strange) so dr strange is like yeah !!!!!! do that, that sounds super fun petey !!!!!! and so now they have evening plans

Hello! I saw that you posted about working with Cernunnos, and I'm interested in working with him honestly, but there's one problem. I'm Chronically Ill, and have been bed bound almost all day, so I'm worried about how good of a devotee I can be when fatigued or depressed. Do you think Cernunnos would be alright with a Chronically Ill follower, and how he might even be able to help? And do you have any ideas for how to worship him while having little energy? Hi! I get this question a lot from people actually. I'll post this one publically so ppl can see. This is going to be long! I apologize for that.

First and foremost: disabilities/chronic illness are NOT an issue for most deities/spirits that help guide is. There are some who are very old and quite unwilling to interact with humans due to past grievances or trauma that these souls have endured, but it's not a disability thing.

This is something that many many many of us here on earth experience (myself included, I am autistic with adhd, major depressive disorder, PTSD and major anxiety alongside IBS, Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome). I get this question a lot, and I've had this question myself.

Cernunnos (link to my long post about it which also mentions this) actually has a soft spot for chronically ill people and adores helping comfort them and bringing them guidance. You do not need to worry about this being a burden within your work. Theres SO many ways to practice magick, ritual, meditation and be a devotee to a god even when this way. I'm a dark forest/green witch (non wiccan) and I'm also a kitchen witch. These forms of magick bring me the most comfort and work best for me. Find the types you are drawn to, and incorporate them into your day. It doesnt need to be big. Divination, for example, is a good way to communicate with your gods when you are unable to meditate. Little things are just as impactful as the large ones and require minimal effort. Make tea with certain ingredients and enchant a spell for it....etc.

The first piece of advice I can give you is to get yourself into the mindset that you are, and shall always be good enough for a god to help guide you. This will not only raise your vibrations but will also set you on the path that you need to be. I fall back on this sometimes. This doesnt mean become conceited. We still need to show respect to these divine beings and when they offer guidance, be nice. DO NOT demand things.

Second, meditation is INCREDIBLE. it does NOT need to be some in depth 'find your soul' type meditation. With adhd, I have an awful time trying to concentrate. One thing Cernunnos has told me is that I must take my own time, and be patient. Even 5 min a day helps. Meditation opens you up to spirit more, grounds you, and makes it easier to do spirit work the more you do it and the longer tou do it. It is also VERY good way to cope with disabilities as it calms our mind down as well as body.

Third, grounding is 100% needed. This is why I mention meditation, through this you can learn to ground. Grounding is an exercise which literally 'grounds' your soul into your body, calming you and giving you a better base for when you start doing more magick. It's very easy to learn and takes minimal effort.

4th, learn divination. This can be tarot, oracle, pendulum...whatever YOU feel is best. This is the way I normally talk to Cernunnos when my hearing is blocked.

5th, learn how to put up wards. This is mentioned in my Cernunnos post that I put up. A lot of people on here will state you do not need them. Heres the thing, you do. It's not because Gods cant protect us, it's because Gods have SO many people that they work with and theres so much that we as humans? We dont know about. As someone whose been attacked BY a malicious spirit, I can concur you do need wards when you do magick. They also are essential because they teach you defensive magick which Gods would want you to know anyway when you get to the point of travelling in the astral, but that's more advance magick. Anyway how to wards is in that link!

6th, in my link I shared it talks about a lot of ways to get in contact with Cernunnos but I'd like to mention some ways I do it as a chronically Ill person myself. I'll also list ways I personally offer him things.

Meditation outside (not during winter)

Dancing (he adores dancing)

Listening to irish/celtic music

Cooking with his favorite foods

Tarot

Telling him about my day out loud

Telling him I love him, thanking him for his guidance

Wearing his pendant.

Singing in irish

I'd also like to note that Cernunnos has such a soft spot for his disabled devotees, he will literally yell at you sometimes if you are pushing yourself too hard or being disrespectful to your body in anyway. And some warnings: if you choose to work with him you HAVE to be respectful to nature. This doesnt mean be vegan. Cernunnos adores meat, you just need to honor it. Always give an offering or ask a plant prior to picking. Make friends with your local fae (just offer them things to keep the peace), talk with your trees. Be kind to the earth. That is his #1 rule when working with him. I've seen him get furious over trees be cut down too soon. He hates how corrupt our world has become.

He loves us, but he wants us to respect ourselves, our home, and so forth.

so i watched cobra kai all in two days and i have so many -

this show has so many cool and smart angles to it, but the same time.... its so stupid oh my god everyone is so dumb literally mr miyagi held all of the braincells in this whole universe 

like i am but at the same time i am not surprised it was made like this, bc in hindsight of course there were hordes of ppl simping over johnny lawrence ....  but it still amuses me that this is like... an Actual Official Thing

i rly enjoy how the world was expanded ! i did grow up watching the karate kid movies, so watching how they progressed the world of the movies so organically was pretty cool. it rly feels like its the same universe

i fucking LOVE stories that are largely about a Thing. dancing ,skating, sports its just so thrilling to experience this all consuming relationship people can have with this type of activity? and martial arts are just that much more intense, so yeah, grown ass men kicking each other around at the lightest provocation and a war veteran caring so much abt teen karate is Ridiculous.... but i love it all because thats the intensity i find so thrilling

was kinda surprised with how much im missing mr. miyagi. first because, like everyone is so unhinged jesus christo, it just really throws into relief how much his character grounded the narrative of the movies. but also hes just a really great character

and on that note it rly Gets Me that the show itself aknowledges that and plays that into daniels angst and all the little ways they sorta weave myiagisms into the whole show........ im not getting emotional over this dumb karate dads show OK

loved the way they are constantly drawing parallels between johnny and mr. myiagi of all people. hes the handy man of his building that has a bullied kid asking for help and eventually steps up to teach them karate, beats up a bunch of bullies for him, creates a friendship with said kid, estranged from family, drinks his sorrows away, surprisingly one of the least quick to anger characters (which says more about everyone else really but.... Well.), no schemes or ulterior motives hes just tryna vibe here.... oh and ofc magically heals miguel of is asthma apparently. the true disciple.. meanwhile daniel is his usual messy petty self even tho he wants to be mr myiagi so bad 

also interesting about that is how miguels character is a parallel of both johnny and daniel at the same time

overall the parallels in ck are done really well, drawing comparisons and also subverting them constantly. theyre well thought out

THE PARALELOGRAMS

fr tho, the angle being explicitly the cycle of trauma and its effects and how trumatized adults in turn traumatize kids, maliciously or not, is so interesting

but! on the flip side of that, it feels like the writers are getting in their own way @ letting the characters grow. especially this last season. theres only so many times you can do "johnny and daniel are getting along but 5mins later they are (literally) fighting over some dumbass random issue" or "johnny puts in 20% of effort with robby and then gives up" before it gets on your nerves yknow?

i see daniel no longer talks like macchio ingested 15 shots of espresso before every take and idk how to feel about that tbh

interesting tension in daniel, as in, in tkk mr miyagi was there and daniel was frankly, kind of a lil shit, this messy petty spitfire hot tempered sassy kid,(johnny lawrence voice: just... stop being so annoying) but now hes the adult, and he wants to be mr. miyagi... but hes just not, and never will be to his very core and it shakes him and in a way hes trying to find who he is now that he sees himself in a position to be a not! cobra kai figure. i kinda really like that 

plus how that relates to his cobra kai trauma. idk if the writers thought abt it Like That, i think so, but in any case, its interesting bc it seems like daniel has told everyone whod listen about johnny lawrence his Pretty Boy Karate Rival and high school and 84 cobra kai... But. no one seems to know what went on in 85 (or 86? idk) which was just so much worse

like ye og cobras were shitheads, but tkk iii is just two hours of daniel being emotionally and physically tortured. 

like, the third movie is.............chaotic, to put it nicely, and many people ignore it, but the writers clearly didnt. daniels actions are, in a way, responding so much more to the events of tkk iii than to the first movie ie. johnny himself, AND. daniel doesnt rly seem to have dealt with that trauma? he never told sam? doesnt feel like hes ever told amanda? he doesnt even say terrys name out loud? freaks Out over kreese ? the way he reacts to robbys deceit? his FACE when he walks past the new "fear does not exist in this dojo" paint or kreeses photo? hmMm i sense Pain

his fashion tho........... disappointing. where are the flower shirts daniel huh we had one (1) shirt what a tragedy STOP WEARING SUITS ALL THE TIME . also the band ts/grunge bi are a look for johnny but part of me longs for the preppy lovable 80s bully chic johnny lawrence getups

weird that they never used that last moment of karate kid where johnny kinda... snaps out of his anger and hands daniel the trophy almost in tears. like “youre alright larusso, good match” “thanks a lot”  that being their last direct interection seems like itd be perfect fruit for cobra kai but... they just dont. weird. 

especially when, the FIRST SCENE they see each other, suposedly in 30+ years, the first thing to come out of daniels mouth is QUOTE "u still got those golden locks huh?" WHO SAYS SHIT LIKE THAT DANIEL FUCKING SAN

i was actually delightedly surprised with how great the chemistry between them is, like from the get go i am Invested. their rl friendship totally bleeds through and its fantastic

johnny lawrence: i am down in the dumps, i fucked up my whole life and my sons probably, largely in light of the trauma that the father figure sensei and the philosophy of my karate inflicted on me and all my friends. u know what i should do, as a traumatized, unreliable mess of an adult? teach that same philosophy to some other kids! what could go wrong! 

but really i enjoy the setup of it. i kinda like that i watched it late because, season 1 was johnny setting himself up for failure in a way and it was exciting to watch it all go to shit sjfn

Like. his heart might be in the right place, but theres just.... not a way to teach something like ‘strike hard, no mercy’ and not have it fuck up a kid 

case and point: aisha, miguel and hawk become annoying as all hell over that bullshit in the end of s1, even before shit gets truly fucked up

billys subtle panicked eyes when he sees hawk and miguel fighting dirty in the all valley was SO GOOD especially in parallel with the panic that is so visible in his face in the movie when kreese tells bobby to injure daniel and in the sweep the leg scene 

seen people question wether kreese should have returned and i absolutely think he needed to. johnny needed to realize that cobra kais fundamentals are flawed, at the root, beyond kreese himself being a toxic piece of shit 

also who are we kidding? we are here to see the tkk characters play on new playgrounds!

i get what they're doing abt kreeses backstory, ( also. cobra kai. pq eles caem nas cobras djjs sorry) but did it need to take up that much time? feels like they couldve  done it in half the run time and developed some other stories better

the new characters! theyre .... good. but. idk. i really like miguel (save for the annoying phase mid s1 - end s2) and amanda, who is a damn riot and has some functioning braincells, but everyone else is       

like dont get me wrong, i dont hate anyone,its not a jane and rafael from jtv situation,  and i am interested and invested in their arcs, but i wouldnt say i like   Like them, as in, personality wise 

like, sams grappling with ptsd was rly gutting and i enjoyed that plus her slight rage issues, 

which nicely parallel torys rage issues. torys background is all over the place tho so im pretty on the fence abt her so far

aisha was cool and im kinda mad she wasnt in s3, especially bc a storyline with her tory and sam was like RIGHT THERE , but also... cant say i was super super fond of her... doesnt feel like we ever spent enough time on her

overall its a good cast but the main draw for me remains the og cast 

the tory/sam miguel/robby Thing. enjoy how theyre Narrative Foils and i like how their stories were so dramatically entangled but oh god give me a break with the teenage love square for the love of god. if u gonna put us through that at least have the decency to not make it so straight

and honestly some sam/tory        miguel/robby romantic tension would even make more sense. just saying! 

also im not sure how i feel abt the cobra kai: red miyagi do: blue theyre going with since some of daniels most iconic looks in tkk are also red. like it was a color they (johnny and him) sorta shared. i get it, opposite but complementary but idk... a little too fire nation and water tribe for me .

 and like the cobra kai kids are so funny abt it bc their outifts grow progressively more ridiculously coordinated. its like do they group chat every morning before leaving their houses? 

robby still sticks out like that tho. he went thru an athleisure/daniel san tsleeves phase and now hes back in the bandts grunge, but his color scheme doesnt fully blend with the other cobra kais. hmmmm.

when kumiko reads mr miyagis letters........ oh my god, my eyes FILLED with tears, it was so heart wrenching :(( tamlyns delivery was so emotional and lovely and its so obvious everyone involved in ck has so much love and respect for pat morita and mr miyagi as character, and i adore that it exists like this electric current through the show

final thoughts! there are def things i hope the writers will improve on the next season, but i am very excited for it either way AND i feel like it has made me enjoy the movies even more and that is a win for a reboot/sequel to me!!

You know this really reminds me of this very disturbing moment i had with one of my friends. Basically for class she made a presentation about this serial killer n detaild his crimes and they disturbed the fuck out of me because of things he did.

N so after class we were talking and she went full serial killer simp mode going 'awww but i feel bad for him, he had such a hard life, and he was closeted he couldnt be himself ;^;' (unknowingly speaking to a queer closeted person right there) n she was like 'dont you feel bad for him?' N i was like 'no???? I feel bad for his victims'

And it was such an eerie moment because she just kept going on and on about how sad this guys life was and how much he suffered n how she found him sympathetic and all i could think of was 'this guy raped and murdered people and then disolved them in acid, i cannt feel pity for him if i tried'.

The thing is, a lot of us have shitty lives. I was socialy ostracized all through elementary-middle school, i harbored quite strong self hate, i am a closeted queer person. Do you see me goin around killin ppl? No u dont u know why because i took responsibility of my own life, i said ok lets go and pushed myself until i was in a good place again. I didnt start lashing out on any other random person just because i was hurt.

So i can pity the victims, i feel for them, i sympathise for them. But i cant pity mass murderers and serial killers. I can understand what happend i can wish it never happend to them but i can never sympathize and pity them because they were hurt and they decided the right response was to rob people of their lives in often horrifying and painful ways. Peoples lives arent a payment for your suffering that you are entitled to.

With manga villains its different cuz they arent real people and they arent hurting real people so i have an easier time sympathizing with them but my point still stands. Victims come first, once you turn into an abuser or a killer you are entitled to no pity points from me until you fuckin fix yourself. Being abused doesnt grant you a get out of jail free card for being a murderer and its sickening to think anyone would think so. Other peoples lives have value, you cant just destroy them in your temper tantrum

There are many horrible people who encountered hard times in the past and/or suffer from trauma but none of that excuses what they’ve done and it never will.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, there is a fine line between understanding the events that pushed a person down the road they travelled to become the person they did and then there is excusing/justifying it because of their experiences.

As you said, the victims always come first.

Also I think this should be something everyone acknowledges: peoples lives aren’t a payment for your suffering that you are entitled to.

(As you said, in fiction there is a little more leeway considering the people they’ve hurt aren’t real either but many people in fandom are reaching a point where they’re dismissing the victims of the abusers/tormentors just because the tormentors have sad pasts and it’s beyond insulting and distressing to see.

i think the reason jim wanted toby to find the amulet was because the whole point of jim going back in time was to prevent the deaths and tragedy because he has the power of foresight, and if he can do that AND let toby have a chance to experience the best of being the trollhunter without the trauma jim had experienced then he wouldnt hesitate to give toby that chance.

you could argue that without him being the trollhunter, events can happen completely differently like that one time he glimpsed to what would happen if he wasnt trollhunter, but i think the whole timeline thing could render that scenario null, as again jim has foresight so maybe because of this fact that he isnt from the timeline he is in it will change that outcome and make it obsolete. i would argue that jim could make sure certain events happen or lead tobias along a very similar path he had time line wise because certain things arent necessarily reliant on jims actions as much as they are reliant on the troll hunter simply existing. regardless, toby wouldnt experience as nearly as much hardship as the trollhunter, because jim would know enemies weaknesses/their character.

Jim learns that he isnt a hero because of the amulet and thats why hes more content with losing the cool shit that comes with it- and he learns that when he needs the help of the others to pull excalibur that he doesnt bear the weight of trollhunter alone necessarily- he understands that they are just as much trollhunters as he is, as they have always been there to help him through thick and thin.

in short jim wants to give toby a chance to shine because he knows toby is just as capable as him, and jim can do this AND save the lives lost and stuff. im surprised ppl are so surprised by the ending when jims love for toby is evident dude. like they are ride or die bros for life they would do anything for eachother.
